17 Best 1000 Watt Grow Light (2022 Updated)

this light is so so much brighter than i have used in the past. i always got the less expensive hps 1000w in the past. i thought this cant be that much better but i had to see after hearing such good things about it.

i plugged it into my digital ballast and set it to only 600w and it was already as bright as any other hps when they were set to a full 1000w !! so then i cranked it on up to 1000w i cant see im blind lol.

i could look at the others but not this one! i cant imagine if i go up one higher to the super hps setting on the ballast but i am quite sure it would easily handle it. i have never had my tomatoes or any plants grow as fast as they are now.

My first run using the Hortilux super HPS was a night and day difference as far as yield and quality. I was running the el cheapos before because I did not think it made a difference. I was wrong. you can pick them up on E-bay for 1/2 the price of what grow shops charge.

Just make sure you are receiving a brand new bulb. People have a tendency of using them for 1 cycle and then trying to resell them to people who are not wise to this. Check the sellers reviews and score first and you should be golden.

The hortilux super hps bulbs are $55. These ENHANCED super hps bulbs cost $78 and produce the exact same spectrum of light and amount of lumens. Side by side the bulbs are no different in intensity. So I’m pretty much coonvinced that I paid $23 more for the word “enhanced.

” So from one grower to another, go with the plain old super hps bulbs for less. You get the same high quality bulb for less $.

I could not find a light fixer the fit the base of these bulbs. The base of these bulbs is very large and will not fit standard light fixtures. I could not use these bulbs so I can’t say the quality of the bulbs themselves or quality of the light they give off.

It is cool for the price but sent very crazy in the mail to me. Was only taped up as it is. I believe it should of been package up like a package should be. Easy to get damaged the way it came so wouldn’t want to have to go through all that again.

Wish it also was discreet so everyone doesn’t know the business. I power never sends something like that.

Incredible bulb for the money. Keep in mind the people commenting on broken glass are probably newbies. The inside of the bulb housing will come factory with crushed tiny pieces in the middle. This actually looks alarming but is quite normal.

Now a broken bulb on the other hand is a problem and should be returned asap! Amazing spectrum and the step up bulb is the blue hortilux and is a perfect sun spectrum match. Hortilux is a phenomenal company.

I purchased my particular bulb from local garden store. Over past two months of use I can notice huge differences between regular MH 1000W. Compared to hortilux bulbs I plan on upgrading to the Blue next time.

Straight up screwed up buld. Its been used and clearly mishandled. Theres a certain risk buying bulbs on line but they could have taken better shipping practices and sell stuff as new like they claim.

No sweat if their backs their not the ones out.

This bulb performs as well as a high end bulb at a fraction of the cost .

The packaging could have been better but all working well

These are genuine professional quality Super HPS with full red and blue spectrum. I haven’t found a better Sodium bulb yet. I won’t use anything but these! They are so worth the $100 cost! My plants are so thick and lush when grown under these!.

I have had 4 of these for about 3 years now. I replaced them thinking maybe I could get a little more yeild. The brand new ones did not perform any better than my 3 year old ones so these do last a long time.

I did have one bulb go out after about 2 years but that’s because our power goes out a lot.

I have tried multiple different brands and has out preformed all of them. Pro-plus is a must. Love my DE lights.

i am a newbie to the type of grow i am using. i am going with the best at the moment. i am a cost cutter but the crop brings me pleasure and revenue. i don’t need it to live on so maybe my perspective is a little different.

the lights last for three crops so the difference between this light and a light $30 cheaper is not worth talking about.

Overall very impressed and will be recommending to friends.

We have found the Kind LED K5 operates as advertised, has a sleek design, is easy to use, runs cool and draws less power than the HPS 1000w units. The timer function is very convenient eliminating the need for us to use our own timers.

I needed a light that could be used for the whole growth cycle for my various herbs… Lowered my power bill with the timer function! Just make sure you guys check your LED temps and you’re set.

The price differential between these bulbs and their famous counterpart is such that you can replace them twice as often and still come out ahead, meaning your plants are receiving more light over the course of the year.

I find them to be of high quality and they do what they are intended to do. I’ve also had continuing good luck with this vendor, and the product came quickly and arrived intact. I will buy these again, and will likely get them from 1000bulbs if they continue to offer aggressive pricing.

Product states that it is a HPS conversion lamp. really, it allows you to use MH setup to use a HPS lamp. As we all know, MH and HPS setups are similar — but not identical. HPS usually requires a Ignitor/starter to start the lamp, where MH does not.

This lamp makes it so you can have the best of both worlds. MH, for growing plants, and HPS for the flowering stage — and you get this without changing any wiring! Skeptical at first, but ordered, screwed in the bulbs, and the orange tinted light shined! Recommend highly, and so far have no issues.

I had trouble getting these bulbs to work in my fixtures. The old MH lights worked ok; but the new HPS bulb went on and off every minute or two. The open circuit voltage was only marginally low; but I went ahead and changed the capacitors (also ordered from 1000bulbs.

com) and now the new bulbs light and work fine. I am very pleased with these bulbs.

I was a bit skeptical about spending so much on a MH bulb. I did my research on the web and spoke with tech support at the manufacturer. They claimed it would make bushy green plants with shorter nodes and reduce the veg time by a week.

I must say I was amazed; it did just as the manufacturer claimed. I will definitely buy this bulb again. Now if they could just come up with a super version of their HPS bulb that makes even more massive buds :-).

Arrived promptly. It was definitely new. I have used quite a few bulbs and could tell it was no more than test fired. It had a small amount of white glass particles laying inside the bulb which appeared to have came off the edges of inside parts, It doesn’t affect performance, This is a really great Veg bulb.

The price is low compared to other sellers.

You honestly cant buy anything at this price point thats going to be good enough for a large area, but these make great side lights! Or if you daisy chained several together they could be adequate during veg for a 4×4 or similar sized tent, I am more than happy with my purchase for the purposes I intend to use it for! I have a 3x3x6 foot grow tent and this light covers the whole floor space. The lights housing is well built and the fan noise is low. I can not feel the heat with hand two inchs away. From seedlings to bloom this light works great.

The tent stays at between 78-84 which is just right for what I grow. I use a small fan to keep it at 80 degrees. This is my second grow with this light and will buy another when its 50,000 life expectancie is reached.

Its light is strong. The plants grow well from the first day of germination under the lamp. I’m completely satisfied with this led lamp. There are no heating problems either. A little bit could be a quieter fan.

The 7200k 1000 watt Plantmax Metal Halide is an excellent bulb for vegetative growth,and aromatic oil production in flowers and medicinal herbs during the last stages of flowering. It produces massive amounts of blue spectrum light,and some U.

V. light for aromatic oil production in plants,It is one of My favorite lamps. Very good for greens,lettuce etc.

I am using this bulb for night fishing and I am very pleased with the light output..The only thing is that I was hoping the light was a little more blue…great bulb for the money though….

Great so far. I have been running this bulb 18 hours a day for the past 5 days. It still has a lot of work ahead though, so only time will tell.

The light arrived promptly and was very well packaged. The unit is well made and has worked without problems. I originally had this installed so the the bottom of the fixture was 46″ above the top of the growing beds.

I measured the light intensity with an Apogee SQ-500 sensor which claims to capture all of the red light in the PAR spectrum. At the center of a 4 ft square table the intensity was 640 micromoles/m^2/s.

In the center of the edges it was between 400 and 350 and at the corners it was between 246 and 320. For an 18 hour lighting day, this puts the daily light integral (DLI) in the center at 41. 5 moles/m^2/day.

At the edges it drops to between 22. 7 and 25. 9 and at the corners it drops to between 15. 9 and 20. 7. This a very intense light. Most of the professional horticulturists say that the DLI should be between 12 and 14 for greens and 15 to 20 plus for vine crops.

It seemed like some of the lettuce varieties the were in the central part of the beam were getting sunburned and I raised the light as much as I could and tilted it slightly to direct it more toward the plants that can stand more light.

It would be better if my ceiling were higher (only 9 ft), or the plants were on the floor (hard on my back). I may eventually build a greenhouse. If your space is limited, you might want to forgo buying the worst LED fixture on the planet and get several smaller ones to spread out the light intensity.

The internodal spacing is immaculate to what I’ve been growing with! (Mh,hps,cheap LEDs) the difference is night and day,no joke! If you want resin production and layers of frosty trichomes your gonna wanna definitely run on these lights! I have 3 phytomax 2 200’s and they rock my 4×8 tent with snowflakes of trichomes from heaven,these three cover more footprint than a hps and give you better weight with 40% or more savings in electricity,the stickiness from the resin is no lie.

buds stick together,I have to go in and separate sticky buds every day! If your looking to grow quality herb! Then buy a quality light! And Black Dog is a game changer for the cannabis field! Dont take my word for it,ask anyone who uses black dog led lights,the results are astonishing!.

I bought the phytomax2-200 in December and started to grow immediately. I was a pretty hesitatent to purchase since the price is relatively expensive. I’m almost done with my first grow as a beginner and I’m impressed.

The light has worked as described without any fualt. The quality of the light is nice and easily noticed when being handled. The light also keeps the temperature down which is an added bonus. The fans are virtually noiseless and the distribution of light is great.

Overall the plants love this light and produce buds everywhere on the plant with the top canopy having massive buds. I few more grows with the phytomax2-200 to hone my growing skills and then I’m purchasing a 400 or 600.

My opinon if you can afford it get it. You won’t be disappointed.

Arrived in excellent packaging, were in excellent condition. Assembly was very straightforward, all extra pieces were there and went together well. The lights are awesome. I feel they have been worth the money.

Just purchased and will update later. Lights arrived fine (not bent or damaged). Runs a little warm but nothing to worry about. Using currently for last 2-3 weeks on flower and my Landrace is loving it.

Buying another without even thinking about it. I have 3 – 300 watt competitors brand LED grow lights and they pull over double the watts of this one light with a lot less Lux and footprint. Color of light is a clean sunlike color (no more burple).

Wish they had a trade in program or a promotional offer because I d probably buy three more and chuck the others in the trash. Thanks PATIOWELL for an affordable and quality product. Plants are thriving.

I ordered a solarXtreme 1000 about a month ago, very sturdy well built and super powerful grow light. I soon realized that the SolarX 1000 was a little to much for my 2 small grow tents, so i e. mailed CLW to see what can be done? We agreed apon an exchange.

The solarX1000 for a solar system 550 uvb kit ana controler, i had to pay a few dollars extra no biggie. I sent the light back the same day through USPS and to make a long story short the USPS lady delivered it to the wrong address and now its lost! They cant find it and im out close to $1000 now they (USPS) are investigating and looking for it but thats not looking so good.

Beware using USPS for anything of value. I like and respect CLW so much that i ordered another Solar system 550 and a controler and as soon as the uvb kits are back in stock i will be ordering one of those as well.

SOLARXTREME 1000 is an awesome grow light well worth it.

I’ve been on the fence with the led craze and decided to give it a try. Bought a cheap led first to see if they were worth trying. I had decent results but only could grow 1 smaller plant with light output.

I bought a 500 CLW and it is a pleasant upgrade to the 400 HPS id been using in my 3×3. Much less heat and running the HPS lights cost almost 100$ a month more. Ive since bought a second 500 and plan on getting the 1000 CLW.

Very well built and they did there homework on spectrum.

These are fantastic lights – I ordered them a few weeks ago and had to sit on them while waiting for an electrician to install my new lighting controller, but I just fired them up for the first time this morning and WOW.

I am going to produce some fantastic medicine using these lights. I switched to these from 1000W HPS lamps and I am comfortable with my decision to do that.
