17 Best 11Mm Dovetail Scope Rings (2022 Updated)

These items are made to a high standard which, you would expect of this company. They come in simple packaging and are exactly what they are supposed to be. They are priced at a level that is affordable, unlike some of their competitors products.

The mounts fitted snuggly and exactly onto my rifle and have remained in place during use. I am very satisfied.

Was looking for Sports Match rings as I have on other air rifles, but they were only in the UK and shipping cost was high. I have two Hawke scopes and they punch above their price, so I took a chance on their rings.

They are nice, Thick, wide rings with dual screws at every point (lots of work but more secure for high power springers) and a recoil pin. The only thing I’d like to see is less gap between the halves of the rings for a more finished look.

These look good and fit exactly my scope to rifle. They have a screw in scope stop in the rear base. The screw is conical, I turned it upside down so the flat end was the connection to the flat recess hole in my receiver.

My objective bell is 1. 8 this fitted with about 1/16th space so my scope is as low to the stock as it will go, but I can adjust the objective focus ring. Perfect.

I have come to really like and respect the Vortex brand as being good quality with an affordable price tag. Some may have had a negative experience but as for myself it has all been positive so far. I paired this mount with a Crossfire II 6-18×44 AO on a SA Saint Victor in.

308 and it clears the rear flip up sight in the down position. No spacer needed. Very pleased so far.

I bought two of these Vortex scope mounts and I am pleased. I put one on my 458 SOCOM and the other on my grandson’s 450 Bushmaster. Both are rock solid on the pic rails and we’re holding zero after 25+ rounds each.

Time will tell, but much better than previous mounts. We used Vortex scopes with these Vortex mounts.

All in all, a solid mount. A bit pricey, though. A better design would be to relieve the area under the eyepiece release so that it could be activated without having to remove the camera from the mount first.

This was easily resolved by a little careful use of my Dremel tool, though. Seems that the designers would have taken that into consideration. All that said, I’m happy with the purchase.

This is a good mount but lacks in the following area. In order to get it to fit tightly on my rail I had to machine. 020″ off of the face where the clamp bottoms out, it must have made to fit the hi-side of the rail dimensions, after doing this is is now tight.

The round knob is a little small with fine knurling. It should be a little bigger and shaped so that you can get a better grip on it. Maybe oblong instead of round. Another option would be to eliminate the screw design altogether and use a quick disconnect throw lever design typical of what we see on many scope rings.

Excellent piece of equipment. The original piece was missing from the Explorer kit. I emailed the Sionyx and the company immediately sent a replacement. Could not want better customer service than that.

This is my second review of the Morpheus 6. 5 eyepiece. I have had it for almost 1 yr now and have compared it to the Explore Scientific and Televue Delites. I found the Televue Delites to have the best contrast but more importantly it was easier to maintain the exit pupil, less black outs and more comfortable eye position.

The E. S have more crispness in the centre and easier to focus on than the Morpheus. The Morphues was the least favourite of the three even though it has better edge correction than the E. S line. I would have recommended it before the price jump but now it being sixty dollars more I can not recommend it.

The televue delites are a much better value and better eyepiece. The E. S is the same price as the Morpheus with 82 degree vs 78 degrees. 1st. Televue delite, 2nd E. S, 3rd Morpheus.

Honestly I bought this EP on a whim. I really wasn’t sure what to expect; I’d bought a Hyperion a while back it was just OK for me and quickly sold it on the used market. Well, the Morpheus is in a completely different class! For its size its suprisingly light in weight yet still very well built.

The overall design is made for incredibly clear and wide views. I have another high end EP in a similar range with an 82 degree FOV and despite the Morpheus having a sllghtly narrower field of view, it beats that one for FOV and clarity in my eyes.

I’m sold on this line and the only thing I regret in buying it is that I passed over them for too long. My goal is to eventually own the entire line.

This mount seems very stable with my smaller scopes, I add about 10 pounds of weight at bottom of tripod to help stabilize. Looking forward to see how it will handle the 6 inch reflector that is on order, that is a few pounds under the load capacity.

Great option for a tripod to use with the small trackers. Just remove the lower knob (bolt) that holds the head to the tripod and replace with an ‘I’ bolt matching the thread pattern of your tracker.

Lightweight and portable, great solution.

The mount arrived quickly and functions very well. The only concern is that one of the clutches stripped out fairly quickly and there are fairly large voids in the mount casting. Not excellent quality, but very functional for the price.

This eyepiece [EP] certainly does provide a Deep View of the universe. I used it for the first time at a star party at a decent dark sky site in Placerville, CA, in my XT10i Intelliscope Dob. In that scope, this EP gives about 42x magnification, with an Apparent Field Of View of 56 degrees, a True Field Of View of about 1.

3 degrees, and an exit pupil of approximately 5. 9 mm. Images are bright, clear and sharp, and the perspective is immersive – just the thing for cruising the Milky Way near Sagittarius, or browsing the numerous open clusters in Cassiopeia.

M13 and M31 looked wonderful in this, though M13 needed higher power to resolve more stars. The TFOV of this EP is better than my 25 mm Sirius Plossl [1. 08 deg], or even my 20 mm Expanse EP [1. 1 deg.

] Oh, the joys of a 2″ EP! I expect many more wonderful viewing sessions with this EP. As usual, Orion delivers a quality product at a reasonable price.

So my eyepiece arrived yesterday and last night had a nice clear sky to test things out. For a $90 dollar eyepiece I was not expecting the high quality views that I this eyepiece provided. The views where crisp and in my light polluted area that says allot.

For my 8″ scope this eyepiece is really outside the limits 41mm max parameters. I am sure at some point I will fork out the $530 for the TeleVue Panoptic 41mm down the road. Till then, I will enjoy this eyepiece.

I should note, be sure the scope is Collimated or this eye piece at this limit for this type of scope may not be crisp.

First & foremost, my review only applies to my experience with using this eyepiece with a 12″ F/5 Newtonian Reflector. I would expect this eyepiece to perform poorly with other F/5 and shorter mirrors too.

I would expect it to perform better with longer F ratio objective lenses or mirrors. It might perform better with smaller diameter mirrors too even if they are F/5. The deal breaker for this eyepiece is that it produces intolerable curvature of field with an F/5 mirror.

“Curvature of field” is when you cannot achieve a sharp focus across the entire field of the eyepiece simultaneously. With this eyepiece – mirror combination if you focus stars near the center of field to pinpoint sharpness, stars halfway from center to edge of field will appear blurry.

If you focus stars near the edge of field to pinpoint sharpness, then stars towards the center of field will be blurry. This effect renders this eyepiece totally useless in my opinion, except for doing the initial alignment of a GOTO telescope in which you don’t care if the alignment stars are out of focus.

Note that “curvature of field” is not the same thing as “coma”, coma is distortion near the edge of field. I was able to achieve sharp focus across the entire field of view with my 12″ F/5 Newtonian by buying a more expensive 2″ multi-element eyepiece.

This eyepiece is not for the faint of heart. It weights 2. 6 pounds (41. 5oz), So, do I recommend it, yes, with some notes. First, the optical system should be working at least at f10 if you want a relatively pleasing view.

In my 11″ f10 edge, the field of view was sharp out to about 85-90 percent. The view was still pleasing, but not like the view in a 21mm Ethos by Televue, which is sharp pretty much to the edge. Second, with the weight of this eyepiece, you may need to offset by using counter weights, depending on your set up.

For my 11″ a counter weight helps. Third, the cost is really getting up there after the latest price increase. I have been intrigued by this eyepiece for the last couple of years, so I finally bought one (discounted here on ebay).

It does everything I need it to do. Provides me with a wide field of view, almost the maximum my scope will show. the view is very sharp (minus the last 15%. I have no regrets as it fits right in with my shorter focal length Ethos.

Like all of RafCamera’s products this adaptor is well made and well thought out. The adaptor is beautifully machined and finished and fits perfectly. The ring mounts onto the lens barrel with three grub screws, to prevent the screws marring the lens, RafCamera have inserted a circular shim of spring steel between the screws and the lens.

This shim protects the lens surface, but allows a totally secure grip. If you want to mount an ancient lens of any type onto your camera, RafCamera will have the means in stock, and if not, they will make it for you.

You will not find a similar or the same thing. The quality of workmanship is at a high level. You can’t find a better case for your projector lenses

With all the great mirrorless platforms out there, this is a golden age for folks who want to adapt old lenses to new bodies. The RAF adapters I’m a repeat customer make it easy to adapt even obscure models.

This one is no exception: it’s properly designed, well made and nicely finished. Highly recommended. (FYI, this adapter works perfectly on the 90mm f3. 8 Printing Ektar. ).

The dovetail plate is of great quality. Fine aluminum and smooth edges. The channel can be used for cable management which is awesome. Good length – helps a great deal for balancing the OTA. The one minor problem is that in case of some mounts/saddle (in my case, an iOptron CEM40) – the dovetail may not be the greatest fit.

The regular WO dovetails (like the one that came with a WO Z73 OTA) fit better. Thi is due to the shape of the dovetail with the channel in it. The problem is more due to iOptron’s poor saddle design, but I can’t change that.

I am still using this on the iOptron but it scares me the way it fits.

This dovetail is beautifully constructed. The Vixen-style doevetail fit my HEQ5-Pro perfectly and I was able to move my scope far enough out to obtain perfect balance. I liked the lage mounting surface that provided a lot of different options to mount the scope rings and to manage all of the cables.

Quality material. Slots allow for easy addition of main camera with rings and a guide scope as well as an EAF using cheescake plates on either sides. I also connected an ASIAIR to the front underneath with the ASIAIR dovetail clamp.

Tapped for the right dimensions to attach to your Celestron OTA, nicely anodized. I bought it for a slightly different purpose that will require modification, but it will fit my other (C-5) OTA once I put in two more screw holes and shorten it a few inches.

Item delivered was in pristine condition. Screws to mount to my telescope were included. Unfortunately this could not be mounted as a secondary tail, but that’s not the fault of this product. It’s a scope limitation.

I received my dovetail on time, however it seems that it has been used since there are many scratches on it. It will work anyways so I’m fine.

My Topeak Joeblow Booster (with built in air compressor) started leaking air back up through the cylinder. As with many things, the service kit is sold out everywhere online. So I managed to measure the damaged O ring inside the pump and found this one on Accu.

The price was so good that I ordered 4 O rings for spares. I struggled to find the exact inner and outer dinension o rings anywhere else. Accu have saved me having to buy another pump at over £100 – thank you!.

I have several sinks with pop-up wastes that didn’t seal properly so water would slowly drain from the sink. Measured up the o-rings and struggled to find matching sizes from plumbing stores, so was happy to find a huge selection here.

All the plug o-rings have been replaced and are water tight again!.

New rotary close drier with smaller dia central pole than the original one. O-rings used as shims to take up gap in existing permanent base slot (3 of the 6 rings used over slot depth. Appears to be working well and pole is vertical.

I liked the ring ok. I thought the state and years of service would be a little larger. I forgot that when you advertise you enhance the photos. I ordered two rings. One came, one is who knows where.

They were ordered in November. My missionary grandson will be getting a “photo” of what is coming. It’s pretty much a Christmas fail. I have emails from the company just telling me it’ll get here sometime, they don’t know when.

The texts were quite generic and not with any feeling. Customer service could use some training. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be rude. But it is what it is.

I love this ring! It is such a personalized way in which to carry the memories of your mission with you. It is high quality and beautifully engraved. I also love having the ability to choose to engrave on the inside of the ring.

It makes a great gift for yourself, returned missionaries, missionaries out in the field or companions.
