20 Best 150 Mile Hd Antenna (2022 Updated)

Works as represented in terms of getting alot of channels and good clear tv reception. And shipping was right on time. The problem was you have to drill a big 1″ hole through your wall to connect the antenna system.

You cannot attach the coax the antenna comes with to your cable network already in place. I went back and read the description but no where was it mentioned that you could not connect the factory coax to your existing cable network.

To me, it was deceptive to not specifically state a material and important limitation such as mounting the antenna somewhere as long as it’s less than 40 feet from the tv. Given a 24 foot antenna pole you have less than 16 feet to run to your tv.

The reason is that the antenna rotator and signal amplifier are both powered through the factory antenna cable. So you can’t use the antenna or the antenna rotator unless you connect the factory cable directly to your tv.

That means drilling a big hole through your wall to connect to the tv. Also, the second so-callled antenna cable coming out of the rotator control box is only maybe 6 feet long. So yes, you can have another tv on that antenna but it would have to be closer than 6 feet from the tv already connected.

If I had known this up-front I would never have bought the antenna. So, if youdon’t mind drilling a big hole through your wall and are well withing 40 feet of the antenna then no problem. But if you expect to just connect the factory cable to your existing cable system then you have a pretty big problem.

For these reasons I would not buy another antenna such as this one. I give iit 2 stars because it did work good and delivered on-time. But the installation was totally unexpected.

Easy to assemble!! Works great I went from having 3 channels to 25channels! Would recommend highly! We live in a rural area have trees around us all over and the stations come in crisp and clear! I only have it mounted about 20ft in the air.

I can only imagine how good it will be once I have it mounted in the air 30ft like its recommended! Thank you!! Best part was shipping, I ordered Friday Morning and had it Monday Afternoon! Thank you.

It would be easy to use if the manufacturer would have taken some more time and effort to build into the unit a system where it would at least tell you were facing north, south or where ever better yet have degrees displayed somewhere.

The meter on my tv does not stay up for the full 28 seconds it takes to do a full revolution. From where I am to Montreal is flat an I still can not get all the stations that I used to get with a big antenna.

(Montreal is about 60 miles as the crow flies).

I am in a high-rise apartment in lower Manhattan and wanted to get some local over-the-air channels. Install was very simple. I like that it has a detachable coax cable and is so small. However, I spent over an hour moving the unit to various locations (in the window, behind the tv, on both sides of the tv, on the floor, in the middle of the room, upside down.

whatever you can think of) and picked up no more than 18 channels (rescanning each time I moved it). Of all the channels it would pick up only one was an actual “big” network channel and even that one would go in and out, all pixelated.

I know this is one of the less expensive antennas but there are reviews from good sources all over the internet about how this is a highly-rated one. The name of it “metro” even points to the fact that it is meant for cities.

Didn’t work for me at all in NYC so I returned it.

Works pretty well for reception. I’m close to the TV towers and even with this antenna it is a challenge to get my WCCO channel to come in properly. The problem with my previous antenna was the signal was too strong and the quality of the signal was terrible.

This antenna so far works pretty well for that channel, but the quality of the signal for other broadcast channels is then not as good as it was with the other antenna. It seems like a decent compromise solution now.

This Optostars 80 Mile Range Leaf OTA TV Antenna works GREAT!!! I had a white, similar OTA antenna but THIS pulls in more stations!!! With the older, white antenna, I would lose quite a few of the Over The Air channels.

As a matter of fact, when I changed-out the old antenna system for this one, with the new OTA antenna, I saw that I was receiving the channels that were lost on the old antenna! I LOVE THIS LEAF METRO ANTENNA!!!.

While I was a little hesitant to spend more than $100 for an indoor antenna, it’s clear the choice was well worth the price. I’ve never had this many channels with those flat, paper thin antennas you can place on a window.

I live fairly close to several broadcast towers, I didn’t have much luck getting a reliable signal until purchase this antenna. I installed it in a crawl space in my attic onto a wall frame beam underneath the roof.

I was amazed to get around four dozen channels and all the local ones that matter for sports and what not. Easy to install and setup. I’d highly recommend purchasing this antenna if you have the space for it.

However, it doesn’t seem sturdy enough to install outdoors, but I wasn’t looking for that option even though this can supposedly weather it. Maybe someplace that isn’t like the northeast with our winters, I’d feel more comfortable placing it outdoors.

excellent antenna. works great. i live in a rural area well outside city limits. i pick up tv stations as far as 80 miles with it. also, its not so intrusive looking on the outside of your home, if you choose to mount it on your roof.

mine is mounted on a post, 100′ from my home along the west side of the property facing an open farm field. this antenna has been through some serious weather this past summer, including high winds, and heavy rains.

it has not faltered at all. i have no doubt it will be fine through the winter months. 1 downside is it does not like splitters on the antenna side of the coax. i had to remove one that was installed prior to me living here.

fortunately, i only have one tv to use on it. now if only they could come up with a long range antenna like this in Bi-directional.

I haven’t yet been able to put the antenna in my attic, as I’d planned, because it’s consistently been 100 or more degrees up there, but I have it in the highest point of my second floor, or about 18 feet over ground level.

The terrain near my house and most of the terrain between my house and local TV broadcast towers is fairly flat or slowly rolling — I’d call it “central Midwest mildly glaciated. ” Columbus has two buildings over 500 feet tall and another 10 or 12 greater than 350 feet, and dozens, if not 100 or so, taller than 150 feet.

There are several big structures like Ohio Stadium (seating for 110,000) between me and some of the towers. In central Ohio, we have about 40 subchannels broadcasting off about 12 primary channels. It took me two days to find the optimum place to get the majority of these channels, but the antenna will receive about 46 of the 52 stations that are offered, and it pulls in a weak signal on one main channel that has five subs on a channel I’d describe as “usually, but not always-watchable.

” One channel — the PBS affiliate and its four subchannels broadcasting from about 20 miles away — is often (I’m estimating half the time) usually not received at all. It’s normally a normal-to-high-powered UHF station, so there may be some technical problem to explain why it’s not being received, and not just by me, but by several friends who live between me and their tower.

In general, the antenna was a little pricey for the improvements I’ve seen in channel reception. I may have a better idea of its abilities after I move it to the attic, but realistically, that move isn’t going to greatly increase the height or minimize the distance or the obstructions that could detract from the reception I’m getting.

In my case, the difference between this antenna (at about $99) and a more-affordable antenna (at $29 or so) is this: I can now receive about 1/3 of the channels available in my area that I wasn’t receiving with a $29 antenna.

That is, I was formerly unable to receive about 1/3 of the channels (or roughly 15-20 channels of 52) that broadcast in my area, but now, I’m getting a signal on most of those 15-20, which aren’t available with a cheaper antenna.

In addition, another 15-20% of the 52 available local channels have improved their signal from “unwatchable or unavailable half the time” to “usually watchable, and with a good picture. ” Some of the offerings I can now receive with my new antenna are a couple of old movie channels, in addition to GRIT TV, and another pretty good network that shows reruns of Law and Order franchises, including SVU, and a couple of similar stations.

Also “new-to-me” are two more home shopping networks, which I care nothing about. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet been able to check out one more reason I bought the antenna — I plan to split the signal and, using a signal amplifier, run a second cable to the main TV in my second floor family room.

I’m sure the usual $19 or $29 antennas that I often use wouldn’t be strong enough to provide an adequate signal to TVs on two different floors. So in general, don’t expect to pick up channels broadcasting from 100 miles away, but stations broadcasting from 50-60 miles away is a good possibility, if you can find some higher-than-normal ground to fix the antenna to.

Installation is easy enough and operation is simple. One better option to have, is a built in signal strength when rotating. Would be worth the additional money!

We travel and do not watch a lot of television, but we do like a few shows and to get the local news. We don’t need satellite tv and all of the channels it provides. Our old crank up and directional antenna was not receiving stations consistently, so we purchased this antenna.

It was a great investment! We easily pick up 20+ stations with no trouble or hassle, no yrying to fine tune the direction, low profile eliminates the worry of “did you crank down the antenna’ and no satellite TV bill! We recommend it!.

It was almost a blessing that we tore off the old antenna exiting a campground, with a low hanging tree branch. Once again we forgot to put it down. This one has superior reception compared to the original that was on our 1999 Fleetwood Bounder.

Although we mounted it on the original mount, we really don’t need to raise it up to get good reception ( when there are channels to find). Don’t wait for your antenna to go flying. upgrade now if it’s in your budget!.

We have decided to get rid of Comcast and mainly use stream services, so need an antenna for OTA channels. The product arrived very fast after the order was placed. The installation was very easy – there are pictures on the box so there’s no need for instructions.

We actually received more channels than expected, and the pictures were very clear. This antenna is flat and we put it on the wall behind the TV, so it saves a lot of space than a regular antenna. So far no complaints.

Given the price point, I’d say this is a good buy and I recommend it to anyone who needs OTA signals.

Works as described. We live about 12 miles away from where the signals come from. This thin antenna receives so many channels, aside from the HD signals from the major networks. Easy to install. Clear reception.

This antenna is great. As soon as you hook everything up, boom you got HD on every channel. I live in area where I really can’t get too many channels. I get about 8-19 channels, all depends on where I put this antenna at on the wall.

This product is like what the company says. Get HD pictures and easy to hook up.

I have to admit that when I took it out of the box I thought I had made a mistake. This antenna is about as thick as a piece of card stock paper and is as light as a feather. Yet, I decided that I would try it out and see.

To my surprise this thing really works. I live at the base of a hill with lots of trees, houses and apartments between me and the transmitter and this antenna was still able to pull in several channels.

Next, I kept on trying it in different locations and I got all the channels in my area. I figured out that it works best in the window. I heard that it works even better outside but I would need to get a longer cord to make that happen.

I am very happy with this item and I would buy it again for sure. ***Update***I was able to get about 15 channels but I found out that there were more out there. So I bought the booster and went to work to find the right spot.

It did take some time to tweak it and get the antenna in exactly the right spot (due to my location at the base of a hill) but I ended up getting 21 channels! So now for a minimal price I get ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS and several other local channels.

Picture is as good as your TV so I do know why that matters. Easy to install you plug it in the wall then to the TV or the other way around it does matter at all. I stuck mine to the window behind my TV and it sticks well, so keep that in mind if you like changing rooms around on a regular basis.

If you do, then you might want to invest in some “goo gone” because I broke my first antenna trying to pull it off the window. It was a great buy for me. I live out by the lake and ca get good internet let alone cable and plus I do really want aher bill to have to pay.

So I got this and I have 16 channels that consists of some christian channels (witch sold me), all the super liberal OETA channels but they have a cooking show channel, DIY channel, and documentary channel, and pbs, and pbs kids, ion channel is a crime tv show channel, fox, NBC, cbs, my TV, fx, and others.

Basically it’s a pretty good deal if you like just a little bit of tv and do need 1,000 channels to choose from.

Not worthy unless placed outside. Problem. it’s an indoor antenna. Bought 2, returned one. It wouldn’t work with Roku Premiere and the reception from the roof didn’t suffice. I’m thinking it’s the age of the TV, but then again.

it’s only an antenna!? I believe they measured distance based on 150 miles of flat land with no buildings. a desert. I barely got reception from a 25 mile antenna. You need the 16. 5ft of cable to get the darn thing outside.

And I’m very concerned the elements will ruin the device before I’ve had an opportunity to really use it. Kept the one because though only 25% of the available channels were obtained, and only one is a major network, it’s better than nothing.

This antenna is best with UHF. Something that’s VERY important is to get it at least 20′ up in the air. The biggest weakness of this unit is that it can be rotated to get the best signal strength, but a person inside with the 2-button remote ( Both buttons rotate the antenna is either CW or CCW direction and the user has zero control as to what direction it will turn.

) is that there is no way to know the direction the antenna is pointing absent looking at it. A better design would entail using a rotational encoder to send a signal down the coax cable to a control box with a display showing what direction the antenna is pointing.

The low price precludes such but I would pay double the present sale price for that feature. Overall a good value.

Expectation for antenna high. After install and use, a total let down. Could only receive 3 lousy stations. I live in Las Cruces New Mexico and El Paso is only 40 miles away. They (El Paso) has more than 45 stations on digital.

Could not get a single station from them. What a waste of my time to install and pay for this product.

Works really well, hope it lasts. Looks good quality. Easy to assemble and install. Picked up 55 digital channels. I have channels I didn’t know existed. At this price – amazing product.

It’s not as powerful as we’d hoped. Especially compared to our over 25 yr old radio shack antenna of same design but shorter. It seems to real picky as to where u aim it to get in signals. The radio shack antenna picked up signal in a more broad range.

It seems to be more sensitive to atmospheric changes as well. Rain will cause signal loss on some channels. Again not a problem on the old antenna. Some channels are coming in a bit better but the other issues are just about a deal breaker.

Not worth the extra money we paid for slightly better reception.

This replaced a 54 element antenna with definitely improved reception. Distant (50+ miles) stations come in with rarer drop-outs. The material quality is much better than imports. Thicker, sturdier metal and plastic parts.

Still, be careful when assembling. Open by putting pressure nearer to the fulcrum, not at the ends where everything can bend more easily. A real plus that it’s made in America.

Design of downlead box requires a staking of the contacts to 4 aluminum rods. Box is not sealed, only held with 4 plastic tabs, is thin warped plastic and leaks to elements and insects. My antenna lasted less than a year before surface mounted components and board corroded.

Contact with Winegard told me it is only covered for 90 days. That tells a lot that a manufacturer will only warranty a passive item for such a short time. New box is another $25, Winegard says you are on your own.

Very common problem with this antenna. Now in the recycling pile.

Wow! This antenna works great. Putting it together is a chore, but it’s well worth it. It replaces a Radio Shack VU-190XR that I’ve been using for 20 years. I added a Winegard LNA200 to the VU-190XR a couple years ago.

The old combination worked well, but the HD8200U & the same LNA200 works even better. I get more gain on all 3 TV bands, and FM reception is better too.

As Phil Robertson would say on Duck Dynasty, “happy happy happy”, and the same goes for myself. I live on the outskirts of the Ouachita National Forest within the mountains and hills in Southeast Oklahoma and now I can receive the good TV stations from the transmitting towers from Tulsa, Oklahoma, ranging from 86 to 104 miles, putting blue bars for strength of reception, I’m very impressed.

I have this antenna matched with the Channel Master Titan 2 V3 high gain preamp amplifier and the Channel Master Ultra Mini 2 distribution amplifier for splitting to 2 TV’s. I’m also receiving the Fort Smith, Arkansas TV stations that are 67 miles to my east with my antenna pointing north, northwest toward Tulsa, overall, I’m recieving 50 channels, including the GRIT, GETTV, METV, THISTV, STARTTV, DEFYTV, COMET, QUEST, and many others.

Thank you Channel Master. I’ve tried and or wasted my money on RCA antennas and other brands of amplifiers, and wish I’d bought Channel Master from the beginning, they’re without a doubt the best.

easy installation and grear signal reception. i live in foothills of the Blue ridge mtns. the antenna provides reception of 39 channels 15 to 30 miles away. i live in a valley with mountains and tall trees.

i have no need for a rotor due to the avaible networks in one direction. the product exceeded my expectation. Compare this performance with my previous 40 mile rated antenna that recieved 4 weak channel signals from mtn towers 8 miles away.

I purchased this antenna for my guest room tv which does not have cable. Assembly was easy to understand. I don’t think this antenna will hold up in outside weather. That’s why I removed one star. Just to test I connected to tv.

I got 2 local channels. I am planning to put in the highest point in attic but not sure how I will test if I can get more channels before going through the effort. The remote for rotation works alright.

I am still not sure the purpose of the booster box. I see same channels even if the booster box is turned off. Anyways saves me some electricity and trouble to keep one more power connection on.

had direct TV and nothing but infomercials for $78. this was $45 once and I get all the basic channels and couple of extras for free. also in HD!! took 10 minutes to hook up and we were watching football!!.

Just needed a small antenna to get me by while in temp housing while relocating. Near city center, near a freeway and after some experimenting got this antenna to work fairly well. Trick was to not use the amplifier, (nor the plug in amp I had from previous home antenna.

) I read that a downside to an amp is that it can amplify noise too. I think I was getting a lot of that from the freeway next to me. Just plugged antenna lead into 75 ohm connection on TV and things got much better.

Rescanned and even got more channels. So keep this in mind, an amp might do more harm than good in an urban area with a lot of traffic.

Five stars since this antenna exceeded my expectations. (Also, the price was right). I’m at 28 miles in the same approximate direction from ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox station broadcast towers. I do have nearby hills and large trees.

The antenna is on a TV in a second floor bedroom. It faces two interior walls and one exterior wall to the outside. Pointing the antenna in the correct direction, the TV scan produced what appears to be great reception of the major network stations, plus a CW station.

The other stations received are okay, but not likely to be watched (especially the 480i resolution ones). As a negative comment, the flat (antenna) part should have had a little stand so it can be easily placed on the top of a piece of furniture and oriented directionally; there are two little tape pieces provided (for a wall attachment) but a wall is probably not going to get it in the right direction.

I purchased this digital antenna because my picture quality was not that great on my old antenna. This neat little antenna is very simple to setup and connect to your tv. My picture quality has improved and I no longer have loss of signal or the typical digital scrambled picture.

I also am able to get far channels than I was getting with my old antenna. This is a great alternative for people who have gotten rid of cable.

This was a purchase that I could have been frustrated with and regretting but turned out to be worth every penny!When I was ready to install this antenna, it did not test correctly. The led on the controller would show red on power on, and then quickly switch and remain yellow.

I sent an emailand tested. Within 12 hours I had a reply back. with an apology for the late reply :The email contained instructions and pictures verifying that I was connecting it correctly without any splitters.

I replied back that the instructions were very clear and simple to follow I had connected everything correctly and according to the instructions. I received another email from support with a set of simple instructions to do 2 simple tests and return pictures of the results.

This was explained as needed to narrow down to the specific component that was the fault for the issue. I did this, which only took me 15 minutes to do and reply with the pictures. My next email explained that the engineers determined from the pictures that it was the cable at fault, and they were going to send me a new cable.

I replied back to that with the fact that I had used 3 different cables in my testing, and that 2 of them were brand new. The next email from Support was that they were going to send me a new antenna instead.

I received the antennae as promised, tested and found it tested correctly. Hands down amazing customer support.

Ive been using an amplified indoor antenna in Va. and have been getting maybe 15 to 20 channels on a clear day. When it rains, the number of channels drops off or freezes on my screen. I took a chance and bought this antenna as it states it can pick up channels up to 150 miles away.

I installed this antenna in my attic ran two coax cables from the output, one thru a 2-way splitter which cuts the power output in half to three televisions. I pointed the antenna in the direction where it would be able to pick up the most signals.

I got so many channels which made my wife happy. When it was raining and storming, I turn on the kitchen tv to see how the signals were in a storm. Channels that I lost or froze during thunderstorms with my old tv antenna came in clear with no freezing on my tv.

I would recommend this antenna and to let everyone know, you can mount it in your attic, and it will work just fine.

I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. The antena is flimsy and very light weight. Installation was straight up kindergarten easy and quick. Box has two video outputs for use with two TVs. Motor turns antenna well and remote to do this works well.

Picture is fine. It does provide HD picture but not sure if it’s 1080p. If your looking to cut cable and expenses then this antenna will get you the local channels and a lot more other channels that I will probably never see.

The pole to place antenna on could be a little longer. Too short in my opinion. For the money it’s just fine.

I bought the antenna to supplement my Clearstream 2V for VHF-low in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Based upon my location, TVFool plots and the antenna gain specifications, I was expecting good performance from the antenna.

It turns out that the actual performance of the HD7000R is actually inferior to the Clearstream in the low-VHF band, even though the Clearstream is not tuned to perform in the VHF-low band. Needless to say that the performance of the HD7000R was a disappointment.

I sent an email to Winegard tech support explaining the details of my setup, the things I tried and the measurements I made comparing the HD7000R and the CS2V and asking for help. Unfortunately, Winegard did not answer my email for tech support, but instead forwarded my contact info to their advertising department and now I am getting Winegard advertisement emails on a regular basis.

This antenna performs excellent when properly set up. Although some think any antenna should work at its best as a stand alone item, but these are passive antenna designs, needing additional components to bring on the performance.

Pre-amplified close to the antenna, and it needs to be one based on the distance from signal source and an indoor distribution amplification block leveled with some testing of db amplifying strengths based on the number of splitting sources of the line.

you will discover really hi level antenna receiving abilities if these are set up with pre-amps and distribution amps. forget the negative review, they think it is just plug and play, they left a lack of knowledge review.

these require some knowledge of antenna set-ups that most professional installers know how to do. and these are the antennas they install. great antenna. for sure, beam me up scottie. I own this type of antenna.

I own two of them merged together for two distinct receiving points of signals.

It works but so does all the other rotor models. It has the same faults as the rest. I bought one as my first. It lasted about 2 yrs. Most will. The worse problem with them all is the cable that they come with that runs from the antenna to the splitter, it you use one or the box.

It cracks within a year or so. Not made from the best material. Best to go to Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot. Any one that sells coaxial cable and get a the better cable. The other is the box. They usually work for about 2 yrs before they start going out.

The antennas last, the motors last. It’s the cables and the box and the box cost about $30. At least half the cost of the whole package. My thought is buy any of the rotating models, The boxes almost look alike , just different colors.

The box is the brains of the whole thing. The antenna won’t run even one TV if the box is not working. That is the amplifier which these small, 18″ antennas need to even give a signal period. I have been off cable and satellite for several years now and have owned about 3 of these antennas and I am fixing to buy my 4th.

It would have been nice to know the max length of the coax cable from the antenna was only 50’. Didn’t realize until bought and saw manual. Reception was terrible. Also it looks nothing like the picture.

All plastic so I doubt it would have held up after years in the sun. Fins on back are so flimsy too. Very cheaply made.

I was surprised when the box arrived it was much smaller than I expected. My first thought was there must be a million parts to this thing. Surprised again when I opened it. The few component pieces were easy to assemble and the only thing I will re-emphasize is restrain yourself from over tightening everything.

I removed my old 9′ antenna and straightened up the mast. Mounted the LAVA HD2605 and connected it to the existing coax. I aimed it the same direction the old antenna had been. Finishing the inside connections as per the directions and turned on the TV.

WOW! 33 stations and every one of them perfect. I didn’t even need to rotate it. I own a really good TV I never knew how good until I connected it to this antenna. I live in a rural area with out cable and lots of hills.

To get satellite was another project so for years I had to be content with what ever I got from my antenna. It was big and subject to the winds and weather. I could get 26 stations but half of them were un-watchable if it was windy or raining.

It was now obvious that none of them were coming in as true HD with my old antenna. With the LAVA 2605 the TV shows are amazing, sharp, colorful, like never before. I don’t have a monster antenna hanging over my house anymore.

Every channel comes in perfect no matterwhat the weather is doing. Wind, rain, snow, even the big pine trees out back do not affect this antenna. Not that I ever did but I don’t have to pay someone to provide my TV entertainment.

Paying for garbage TV? You may want to consider this option and save yourself a pile of cash every year. I can buy a lot of movies and boxed TV shows for what cable and satellite companies charge. Some of my neighbors noticed the big antenna is gone and wondered what I had put up that is so much smaller.

I invited them in to see my TV. They all agreed my reception and definition are much better than what they are getting. I expect to see a few more of these antennas around soon. This was a great investment.

If you live near a large metropolitan area, this may be just what you need to receive most channels. It is a UHF antenna. (You should not expect Walmart to tell you that. ) Even UHF antennas receive some VHF signals, but they are pretty much omnidirectional for VHF.

The three small elements in front (directors) are sized for channels in the 700 to 900 Mhz range which mostly no longer exist as TV channels. So, for most channels you will receive, it is a 2 element antenna.

It has a built in transformer, so you connect an F connector cable directly to the antenna. Most antenna distance claims are worthless including this one. It depends on the height of the antenna and terrain between you and the TV tower that transmits the signal to you.

The number of channels you receive are dependent on how many channels are being transmitted in your area. If you are disappointed in this antenna, you could buy a better one from Channel Master, a company that has been making antennas since before most of us were born, and whose distance claims are somewhat realistic.

It is very easy to put together in under 15 minutes. We have it placed on two outdoor TV poles so roughly 16 ft up and we are able to pick up 30 channels. We do live in a rural area with the closest broadcasting area being 55 miles away from either Northern and Southern stations.

We had a non amplified antenna that was alright but this one provides crisp channels and brings in a few others that we were not able to obtain before. Also, able to bring in channels clear when they start to pixilate by rotating the antenna.

I was looking for an antenna that is not dependent on electricity. I am very pleased with this little antenna. I am getting most of the local channels in my area with little to no pixelation. I am using this antenna as an indoor antenna at this time, and the picture is very clear.

Note: I placed the antenna as high as I can get inside my house, and I had to test for the best location and position in the room to put the antenna.

This antenna works better than other antennas I’ve tried in this price range although the reception range seems to be a bit a bit overstated.

Works well, better with the booster. I ordered a second one for spare room and works a treat. Excellent product for such a cheap price.

This antenna was easy to assemble in just a few minutes. If you are not very handy the instruction book will guide you through the assembly. After I had it assembled I decided to mount it in my attic as far to the roof as I could and ran the line to a tv in my garage.

I actually live in a residential area and prefer not to mount this to the top of my house so that is why I proffered to do the attic installation. I used the included mount to make a nice installation look in my attic without any problems.

I had analog cable out in my garage and thought that having a crystal clear digital signal would be nice to watch football games while I work. I went to the website antennaweb and looked up what channels to expect to receive.

I live in a rural area at least 50 miles from the nearest cities and expected to get about 14 channels per the website. After I hooked up the tv to the antenna and did the channel scan I got 17 stations which included PBS,CBS,FOX,NBC, and ABC.

The antenna picked up some of the same networks from multiple surrounding cities. Pretty impressed with how many stations this antenna picked up especially for its size and the area that I live in. All stations had crystal clear picture which is great.

It was packaged very well from the factory with everything arriving in great condition after I opened up the box and the actual construction of the parts feel of good quality but surprising light weight when fully assembled.

Antenna seems to be made well. Brought in a couple more channels than my other antenna. Only thing it is real light and not much wind will distort some channels. I like the design though except for the lightness and ease of bumping around.

All in all I would recommend this antenna because it does as well as all the other ones I have used.

GE Quadcore HD Outdoors Antenna So I decided to save some money and cancel my cable. Then I got this GE Quadcore HD outdoor antenna. It has a long-range up to 70 miles allowing me to receive free local HDTV channels like Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, and more.

Plus it has 4K fullHD 1080 clarity. Now I am saving over $60 a month and it came with a lifetime warranty. It was Whole Home Ready so I was able to use coaxial cable and connect my whole home to the GE outdoor antenna.

Pros long-range 70 miles. Cons take me about 30 minutes to find the right spot.

I replaced a two year old Channelmaster Masterpiece 60 antenna in perfect condition with this Winegard 7694 antenna because I wasn’t pleased with the performance of the Channelmaster. It is a little smaller than the Channelmaster and amazingly only 1/3 of the cost.

With that said, the Winegard picked up a few channels that I could not get with the Channelmaster, plus most of the ones that the Channelmaster was picking up. The net effect is that I get more channels now.

Instructions were pathetic, but it was very easy to assemble anyway. It only took an hour or so to remove the Channelmaster from a 20 foot mast and replace it with the Winegard. Shipping was very, very fast, which always pleases me.

Walmart gets things to me faster than any other vendor. I’m about 45 miles from all of the broadcast towers in my location. I have a metal roof with the antenna located about 5 feet above the roof peak on a 20 foot pole.

I have tall trees in my yard. I have three TVs connected to the antenna and do not have any kind of amplification. When comparing antennas, look at the dbi gain numbers. The higher the better.

I’ve tried several antennas recently for my location, Palm Desert, CA. The challenge for me was to pick up the LA PBS station transmission, about 80 miles away at Mt. Wilson, without line of site (some mountains between here and Wilson).

I had a Winegard Freevision which worked amazingly well, considering its small size, but had audio and video dropouts. This antenna, Winegard Hd7694p, solved the problem. There are still a few dropouts here and there, but not enough to degrade the viewing experience significantly.

Nice thing about Winegard is the quality. They are well designed and manufactured, and are easy to assemble out of the box, which basically means just extending/pulling out the elements laterally. And unlike RCA antennas, which are harder to assemble and in some cases defective in manufacture, so you waste a lot of time assembling only to find out, e.

g. , that segment phase signal conductors are not long enough to reach the adjacent segment, as I found with the RCA Outdoor 60 Mile Antenna. This antenna doesn’t pick up low VHS stations, so check and see if your locale has transmissions at this frequency you need to pick up.

Most HDTV transmissions are UHF, with some high VHF. The difference is the size spread of the elements – they need to be wider/longer for low VHF.

this did not do any better than the rabbit ears i had. no really i had a much smaller yagi that worked just as good. winegard told me according to my address this antenna would preform much better. well i preforms about the same as the smaller antenna it replaced.

and the stations are all less that 30 miles from my house. they claim it is a 150 mile unit. i have it 45′ off the ground in a flat area with no hills between me and the towers. heck i can see the lights on some of them and they still do not show better than the old antenna.

also some research i found said the clips in the circuit board won’t clip onto the antenna leads under where they snap into. so i drilled holes into the housing to verify they did clip onto them and then siliconed the holes back up to keep out the weather.

so in review i got no better signal strength with this antenna than i got with the much smaller yagi for 30$.

I compared this directly to a home built 8 bay bowtie antenna that I made. I found it to be slightly better in overall reception to mine but certainly better looking. On UHF channels it was a little more effective than my home built.

Obviously on the VHF-Hi channels it was far more effective since the bowtie antenna is not even designed for VHF. Check an antenna report to determine which bands you should be hoping to receive. If you need a VHF-Lo antenna choose another this is not designed for those.

In my situation the reflector option did help to lock in two UHF channels that were causing some pixilation. If your report indicates you have relatively strong channels or that you will be receiving from several directions try without the reflector option first to save some money, you can always add it later.

If you are lucky enough to have towers perpendicular to an outside wall this antenna can be mounted flat on a wall and be far more discreet than a mast mounted yagi style antenna.

I should have listened to the reviews from Tyler, also known as The Antenna Man on YouTube. He lists this multi- directional Smyrna as one of the top 3 in the market. I tried directional antennas plus one multi-directional, and this Clearstream is the best ID them all.

The one I bought has a reflector, but I don’t think it would make a huge difference. I live in Miami, and now I receive a FOX station from west Palm beach. It’s just awesome! I also have a TIVO box to record shows, and the signal strength on all major network channels is in the high 80s and low 90s.

I definitely recommend this great antenna.
