20 Best 3 Point Disc Harrow (2022 Updated)

Package arrived partially open and plastic bag inside had torn open. Opened the box and Lucky for me only one washer was missing, especially since bolts, nuts and washers were everywhere. Went together fairly easy using enclosed instruction and you tube video.

Tried it on some hard virgin ground, harrow bounced a lot, but I expected that. Harrow cut into the hard ground with several passes, but I’m not to patient, so I ordered the weight tray, will see if that helps.

Have not tried on previous plowed ground, but I got a feeling it’s going to do it’s job.

Just what I expect from Black Boar ATV equipment. High quality. Good directions for assembly. Works like a charm. I just love the Black Boar system and I probably am set for life now as far as a Disc Harrow goes.

Not cheap but worth every penny because it is built to last. I have the Cultipacker also and am considering more Black Boar attachments for working the food plots on our ranch.

Purchased this product for the use of an acre food plot and was completely amazed how well it worked on the field. Very easy assembly (once I reviewed the youtube videos) and well made. Would recommend to anyone who wants to do a quick food plot or garden.

My grandson was thrilled BUT, it was delivered without the “hitch”, attachment to connect it to a tractor. Once I notified Bruder they sent us the hitch and all is right with the world. except, my grandson is in school now and hasn’t been able to play with the disc/tractor as he wanted during the summer months.

It isn’t going anywhere and we will look forward to time in the future. There is some concern about durability. It seems very fragile for a young boy to handle.

My 4 yr old farmer loves it, however it does come apart fairly easy. So far, nothing has broken. It all snaps together well, it just comes unsnapped too.

A great piece of kit

This is a great product! I have a crusher run limestone parking lot that I purchased this to use in. The drag harrow did a fantastic job of raking the gravel and also pulling up dead weeds to be blown off.

The reviews I read mentioned that the pieces did not hook together securely. Well, they do not! But, that was easily remedied with some heavy duty zip ties!! It works great for simple raking by itself, or if you need a little more depth on the tines, simple throw on an old tire.

Wish I had taken pictures, but trust me when I say it does an excellent job!!.

This harrow worked great for clearing off the dried sage from around my property. I was able to clear a good sized fire defense area around the perimeter of a few acres in a weekend. The tines are heavy but are easy to pull with a UTV.

The only downside is having to stop every couple hundred yards to clear out the brush from under the harrow. Now that I’ve done the initial clearing it should be very easy to keep it maintained.

I bought this drag harrow to help manage the footings in our indoor riding arena- the surface can compact and become very hard with use, especially near the edges where we get some water leaching in.

The drag harrow works like a charm: the initial surfacing took some time (because of the long period we didn’t have a tool to keep it in shape- not any problem with the harrow) but now bi-weekly maintenance keeps the footings well broken up.

The harrow was easy to assembly right out of the box and is very sturdy- heavy duty metal everywhere. It comes in three manageable pieces (the tow bar/chain plus two drag sections) and assembled in literally minutes.

The raking tines are angled such that if you were to hit a major obstruction, they would pull ‘up and over’ rather than lock and put unacceptable strain on the hitch point. I use a little Simplicity riding mower to haul the harrow around and it handles the weight fine.

If you are planning to use this outside on unprepared soil (sod, lawn, brush, etc) it really isn’t the right tool- this is for worked soil, even with rocks. It would probably grub out light brush pretty easily, but might require several passes.

With particularly hard soil (as with our arena, initially) it took some extra weight to get the tines to bite at first (I just lay some cinder blocks right on top of the drag sections) but once started, it broke everything up very well.

Unit came mostly assembled. Assembly was pretty easy. I used straps to lift the deck with my tractor to install the wheels. Be sure to get 90 wt gear lube (2 qts) for the gear box. Once assembled it was easy to attach and cuts realy nice.

My yard is some what Rolling and it cut w/o scalping. I have it set on lowest setting and have been experimenting with out hooking up the top hitch (letting the deck float on its own). It works very well.

Nice cut. I earlier gave a low rating based on a delivery issue (my mower was lost for about a week by the shipping company). The found it and delivered.

Assembly was easy except for two misaligned holes. I pull this mower behind my 46 hp tractor. I am away from the dust, dirt, debris with this rear discharge mower. I have to get a bath immediately after mowing with my zero turn mower because of the dirt and debris.

This mower is great from that standpoint and it cuts good. I live on my farm and have dirt roads with Bahia grass on the sides. My farthest road is one mile from my house so using the finish mower behind my tractor is much easier than my zero turn mower and cleaner.

Noisy, does not cut very well. I have the 5′ finishing deck. Seems very well built but poor design. Guess I was spoiled with my Rossi, even when falling apart after 15 years it still cut much better.

Had a nice even cut which this deck does not. More like a bush hog in that department. Cutting around 2. 5 acres of Bahia every week or two depending on rain.

Recently we installed a concrete patio behind our home and the heavy equipment made a mess of our backyard and side yard. I needed the harrow to smooth out the rough areas in order to re-seed the lawn.

I saw this harrow on the Tractor Supply website, thought it looked tough enough and liked the price and the free shipping. However, after reading a couple of the reviews, I had some concerns that the connectors may not be up to the task.

I took a chance and placed the order. It arrived a couple days later fully assembled. I even bought a couple extra heavier duty carabiner clips just in case I had to replace any of the three that came with it.

I pulled that harrow loaded with four concrete blocks on the built-in shelf behind my lawn tractor for the entire project and was pleasantly surprised that it did a great job leveling the dirt and restoring the yard! Not a single bolt or carabiner broke or even bent! I’d highly recommend this piece of equipment for similar jobs.

Poor quality from the factory assemblers. I had to tighten all the 1/4-20 (10mm) bolts on the front leveling plate. I used it for 15 minutes and the last two sections of the chain-link weaved assembly became partially unwound and twisted.

I was able to repair with considerable time and frustration and cursing!.

Good for draggjng a baseball field or something similarly flat. Not remotely sufficient for dragging a field or a yard for all the reasons others have noted: chain is too short (when making a sharp turn the chain got wrapped aound my axle); connecotors are a joke; and the drag itself is weak aluminum fencing that will stretch and break.

Not remotely impressed.

Purchased this 60” disc for my 26HP Mahindra 1526 and couldn’t be happier. I have a sandy loam soil that was a garden from the mid 50’s until the late 80’s. The ground hadn’t been disturbed since, but has been used as a 1 acre back yard extension up until last week.

This disc cut right thru the Bermuda grass that was established and made light work of it I might add. After 3 passes, this disc has it all looking like it had beef Roto-tilled. I didn’t even have to add any extra weight to get it to do it’s job.

First pass I rolled thru in 1st gear to cut the 3,000sf plot, then I bumped it up to 2nd and rolled thru at around 6 mph two more times so the discs could do what they were designed to do. I couldn’t be happier with my choice.

I like it! In effect came all set to go! Thank you. If I may suggest just one thing, what about sealed bearings? It will make life easier in the field when I forget to bring the grease gun along. Thank you.

I have an rk24 and this is perfect for it. The boxed frame makes it heavier than the cheap angle iron harrows so it cuts deeper. Even in new ground, it cuts deep. I love it! I wish it had adjustable gangs but those get really expensive.

I just bought a 6 ft drag harrow for the times I would need to take the set out (like burying broadcast seed) and also works as a drag behind this harrow to smooth out the outer furrows a disc makes.

Worked well. After about 3 hours of use, the nuts came loose and a whole row of discs came off. The secondary nuts has also come off the other rows. Note to self to stop periodically to check that everything is still screwed in tight.

This attachment was everything I hoped for! Easy to order, shipped pretty quickly, and worked great to tear up my yard which is basically sun-baked clay. The only downside is that it was delivered upside down – frame down, discs up.

It was interesting when I had to flip it over!.

I bought my Brinly Disc Harrow last winter so I would have it in time to to get my garden ready for spring planting. I use it on my Husqvarna TS354XD garden tractor with an electric sleeve hitch. I typically use it after plowing and turning the garden with the Brinly Plow which is another great implement.

I usually make 3 passes per row with the disc. With the down force created by my electric sleeve hitch the disc makes short work of cutting and leveling the large clumps and mounds of red Carolina clay created by the plow.

It leaves a nice fairly tilled soil surface that I then fluff with the Cultivator. I have also used the disc to lightly rough and loosen the soil surface of my yard to plant grass seed. I have future plans to use it to help create a few food plots on my hunting land.

I even plan to eventually get a second one to pull in tandem with the first. So far I have been extremely pleased with my Brinly Disc and would absolutely highly recommend it for anyone needing a quality build, dependable, garden tractor sized disc harrow! I also do recommend using it with an electric sleeve hitch instead of just pulling it so you don’t have to worry about putting extra weight on it.

I purchased my disc harrow from Northern Tool and Equipment. I picked it up and took it home to assemble. When I tried to assemble it, I discovered the Hitch Bar holes had been stamped out backwards making it impossible to assemble.

I returned to Northern Tool and Equipment and they opened up another box and swapped the Hitch Bar out for one that was done correctly. Once assembled it seems to be a solid piece of equipment that will hopefully serve me well.

I realize that people make mistakes but Quality Control should have caught it before it left the factory.

I bought this for small food plots ( 40 yards X 80 to 100 yards ) for deer hunting and small garden work. The ground where I live is hard clay but this little disc works really well for me. I pull it with a lawn mower with somewhere around 100 lbs or so added to it and it works well.

I go slow and take my time making multiple passes but it is getting the job done. Very impressed. Just what I was looking for.

This attachment worked well for my use. Would not recommend it for breaking sod. The weight rack is not heavy duty. The wire will break. I would recommend putting a steel quarter inch base instead of wire.

I was pleased with my purchase though. Also, it went together in about an hour with no problems. For me, I modified the ball hitch to a pin hitch for my Deere.

Worked better than I could have imagined. Mountain terrain excavated and compacted during new home construction. This harrow did a great job of turning the earth for planting grass seed.

Excellent angle iron packaging. (I’ll reuse the angle iron on another project) Easy to assemble, disc behind a Willys Jeep and Polaris 450 quad through heavy Michigan clay/sod with cement block weights.

Great product!.

Shipping was a nightmare, 1-2 weeks means start making phone calls after 2 weeks if you want it within 3-4 weeks. Then you have to schedule a time and take off work for a full size semi and trailer to drop off the small 95 lb package while blocking traffic.

Harrow itself seems like it would be OK grading sand such as a baseball field, didn’t scratch or do anything to my small plots. Had to pay to get plots turned over and then after seeding went over seed 6-8 times to try to break up clumps and level off.

Seemed to do a ok job but destroyed the seeds in the process and at $600 per acre x 6 acres of seed all together that hurt.

This harrow works fine. I used it yesterday to rough up soil for seeding pasture grass, and dragged the area again after seeding to mix seed with soil. I have not tried the reverse side which should be more aggressive in roughing soil.

I plan on running it over pastures to break up manure piles soon. I’m glad I bought the 6-ft wide harrow instead of the 4-ft wide harrow. Hooks through the drag bar come out a bit too easily when hooking up and have to be re-hooked, but they hold just fine during dragging.

First it works exactly how it’s supposed to! The low rating is all due to condition it was sold in. It was completely rusted out and I believe sitting outside all year long. Like I said I needed one bad so I did not have an option so I bought it.

I then had to pick up spray paint, vinegar, scrub pads to clean it up and re-coat it otherwise it would rust out. 85% rusted when purchased. Not a light rust but pitting and corroding…not a good way to sell something new.

I’ve had this harrow for about two months now and have used it for several hours. We’re building a new home on some land we just cleared so what will be the yard was covered with bulldozer tracks and was pretty uneven.

I attach this harrow to an antique 1951 30hp tractor using a tow ball and putting the ring over it. This harrow is about 4″ wider on each side than the rear tire print on the tractor, so it leaves a nice smooth path behind me with no tread marks even from the aggressive R1 tires.

I also use this to smooth and refresh a 1,200 ft long limestone gravel driveway to look like new again. There are 3 different ways to use this harrow. You can put the tine side down for a mild agitation of the surface, or put the pull bar on the other side for a more aggressive agitation.

Finally you can flip the whole thing upside down where the tines are facing up to smooth softer surfaces such as unpacked dirt or gravel to leave a very nice groomed look. The more aggressive direction has been great for cleaning up the bulldozed forested area.

The times will pickup sections of roots and sticks left behind by the dozer, so I just jump down and pull them out of the harrow periodically. It is also great for de-thatching established lawn before over-seeding.

The only thing I wish is that the more aggressive setting would pitch the tines slightly forward in the direction you are pulling. That would make it even more versatile as a light garden cultivator to loosen dirt before planting.

I’m going to try putting some heavy objects on top of it to try and achieve that result with the tines tilted slightly rearwards.

The buildup of gravel in the center of our drive, once loosened by the teeth of the harrow, is then distributed to other areas of need, like hollows created by rain, runoff or from winter use.

We then flipped over the harrow to smooth out the drive. Does a great job, and we pulled it behind our 4Runner. The 4 ft model can be moved and handled by one person.

The harrow separated the soil allowing the seed to drop down then covers the area all in one pass. Next day, BIG RAIN STORM! and the grass still germinated and didn’t wash away. Then I used the harrow to dress the gravel in front of the pole building.

No wear after multiple passes in the gravel.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve got a 2-acre horse pasture, and this works great to break up the horse manure. It is heavy-duty, but not so heavy I can’t wrangle it by myself (I’m a 58-year-old woman).

The hitch chain and bar separate easily from the harrow itself, making the two pieces even easier to handle. The harrow can be used three ways. The spikes can face forward for more aggressive harrowing, backward for less aggressive, and then upside down for a smooth drag.

The price, even with delivery, was about $100 less than other stores. Delivery was quick.

The cultivator was easy to assemble. It performed as intended, cultivating firm sandy soil as well as tearing up clods of grass. The first day of use one of the tine tips (shovel) broke off from the S tine, probably due to shearing of the small bolt that secure it to the S tine.

This is a guess as we haven’t found the “shovel” yet. I’ll be calling their technical support number to see how well they deal with this problem. The 3 star rating was earned by the part failure on the first day of use.

Great little unit for hobby gardener/farmer. Used first time to till green pasture, break probably 20+ years of compacted soil. First pass at about 4″ average depth and it broke up the sod well although dug in a couple of times and bogged down my compact tractor.

Definitely need power 3 point in these situations. Did up and back, then cross passes to thoroughly break up sod. Once I clear the sod chunks, look forward to using it to cultivate for planting. Plot size initially about 1/4 acre.

Tractor used: 20hp compact diesel 4wd.

I do about 4 acres of food plots on a 25 acre place. I have a 4ft tiller and done everything before with it, and it was time consuming. I bought this cultivar and done all 4 acres at 6in deep in about an hr and the groud looks great.

I used a good drag a few days later and looked like i had tilled it.

Came on time with Fed Ex Trucking, packed on pallets (2) and with an angle iron cage for protection. Unfortunately missing some parts for the 3 point assembly. Still on a learning curve for operation but works great on my 1/2 of a mile drive way.

Saw some reviews for other manufacturers that bent or broke from heavy use, not this one. Glad I bought from Titan.

I looked all over for something to grade my driveway and help with some land improvement projects I have going. This was the best one for the price. Some companies I didn’t buy from because their website was so hard to navigate.

Others I didn’t buy from because the shipping was weeks or months out, and they wanted to charge extra for a truck with a lift gate. Titans price was right. Delivery time was fast and shipping included.

The implement is well made and has done the job I needed it to. My 26 HP tractor pulls it easily. I also chose this one because it specified that the shanks were adjustable and removable. It was well packed and assembly instructions were simple and easy to read.

I bought this over 10 years ago. I have dragged it behind my Polaris 800 Sportsman for years. Never put it out of the weather, rarely ever done any maintenance. Maybe greased it once. Is out in the brush as we speak.

Was going to add the cultipacker a couple of years ago, but that is no longer an option. SO. The cultipacker adds weight which makes it perform in pretty hard stuff. You can get a cultipacker as an independent piece of equipment for less money.

However for the added weight and time savings of packing as you disc, I would get it with the packer. Mount a spreader for seeds on the front of the atv and you basically have a planter set up. Single pass in softer fields, pre disc in harder ones.

But if money is a concern, just get it as is.

I purchased this disc after doing a lot of research. Recently used it on a Kentucky farm, planting around 3 acres of food plots. The ground was pretty hard and rocky. Also, there had been very little rain, causing for the soil to be very hard.

The first pass did very little. Ultimately, I made multiple passes before achieving the soil condition I wanted. The ease of use for the disc sets it apart from others. From transporting, raising/lowering and changing the disc angles.

All very simple. There are no instructions for the implement. But, if you can not figure out how it works. Well, then you probably have a hard time functioning in everyday life! So, would recommend if you only are able to use an ATV/UTV and do not have access to a tractor.

I was using a 900 Polaris Tanger and had no problem. Even with the most aggressive angle.

After doing extensive research on ATV discs, I bought this one, and I made the right choice. I use it for food plots, in not so great soil conditions (reclaim ground, some rocks). It tills great, if not better than the JD4020 with 8ft 3pt disc I’ve used the past 4 years.

It allows me to get to my remote plots when I need to, where as before I was at the mercy of Mother Nature. The frame, bearings, blades, everything is very well built. Tarter Farm and Ranch is very reputable.

No extra weight was necessary in established food plots (430lbs), I wouldn’t expect weight would be needed when putting in new plots. The gang angle adjustment allows you to control the aggressiveness of the blades depending on soil conditions and the height adjustment allows for depth control and easy transport.

The biggest fear I had when buying an ATV disc, was the rocking back and forth while disking. I tried a flip over disc last year and all it did was hop back and forth, unless you crept along at 2 mph.

I ran about 7 mph (1st gear) with my Tarter disc with ZERO hopping!! It works like it should!! I think you could go faster if you wanted too. It tows great, ran down the county road at 30 mph, no problems.

I use a 2014 Honda Rancher (420cc) and it does not overwork it all! Spend the little extra money, and get a quality product that you won’t be disappointed with.

Purchased the heavy duty disc expecting it to be just that. While the frame work is well constructed the disc themselves are not of good quality. I’ve broken 4 in minimal use in decent soil. Getting very frustrated & tractor supply doesn’t even stock replacements in the stores.

Didn’t know product was made in USA. Glad to see that it was, great form and function.

This will not fit a 1″ square axle. It is too large it did not even touch axle. The 1″ they mention on the site I believe has to do with the curve of the blade not the fit on the axle. I hope this helps someone.

Assembly directions were not included. You should add them. Plastic caps on pulling pipe lasted less than five minutes before they fell off. One was damaged prior to use and that shows poor quality control on your end.

Unit had to be weighted to work properly for my application. Unit worked well overall.

It works great, came to the house quickly. Easy to put together other than the hooks are a bit to open and like to become unhooked while not being used. Kinda makes it annoying. But on the other hand it is nice to have the choice of two or one row.

Does spread out the hay in my winter paddock well and breaks up the manure load and helps spread it out.

First time I’ve ever used one. I am really impressed with the ability to smooth rough patches of dirt and the quality of this product. Will be using this item frequently in the future on my tree farm and in my landscaping buisiness.

A must if you do ground leveling , grass seeding, or road work!.
