20 Best 3 Stage Snow Blower (2022 Updated)

I have used this snow blower twice now and have mixed feelings about its overall performance. Two major complaints that I have:1. The battery hatch does not seal well and definitely allowed a fair amount of snow to enter the battery compartment during use.

I can only assume that moisture on the batteries will eventually lead to a malfunction and at $350 for new batteries, I don’t think I could recommend this machine for fear that it will not hold up over time.

2. I purchased this unit in December 2021 and the discharge chute still moves on its own I am aware this has been a known problem since the debut of this snow blower and that I can call to get a kit to fix the problem.

However, I have to question why Ego would not have addressed this issue during production considering they have known about the issue for multiple years now. IMO this seems to convey a poor customer focus from the company when they could have fixed the problem at the source but instead force customers to call a service hotline and address the issue on their own Summary of uses: My first use was to clear about 3-5 inches of powdery snow.

The machine worked well. On a single charge with two 7. 5 ah batteries, it cleared my driveway (which probably fits 8 cars), my neighbors driveway (approximately holds 6 cars) and the sidewalk in front of both of our houses using a low speed and low auger setting.

My neighbor who has a gas snow blower complimented the machine for how quiet it was and how well it performed. Second use of the machine was during/ after recent blizzard that hit NJ. We received about a foot of snow in my area but drifts were probably closer to 20-24 inches in some areas and the machine definitely did not work as well here which, for the most part is understandable considering how much more snow there was.

In total I have three 7. 5 ah batteries. Using the first set of batteries I was able to clear my driveway but not the pile left by the snow plow. For the most part this was also done on low speed and auger setting.

When those batteries died, I dropped them in the dual charger and used the snow blower with a single 7. 5ah battery. The machine operated satisfactorily but battery did not last long at all, maybe 15 minutes.

After about two hours for the set of batteries to charge. I used them to finish the pile left by the plow and to clear my sidewalk. It was slightly frustrating to have to wait for the recharge but I think if I had a fourth battery I could have finished up in one continuous session.

During the time it took me to finish my entire driveway and sidewalks, my neighbor who has the gas snow blower was able to clear his entire property and another neighbors house while I was still waiting for my batteries to finish charging.

We decided on this unit to be prepared for our first snow season in Northern Colorado. Although moving from the North Shore of Chicago, our new CO neighbors have suggested that snowfall can often come with 7+ inches at a time.

As an all-female house, I need to be certain that my daughters will be able to have the driveway cleared so that they can get to school. When I mentioned the EGO snowblower as a possible option, my new neighbors assured me that I was making a good choice.

The unit was delivered by a reputable freight company who wheeled the unit into my garage due to the 266lb weight tag. Driver also removed the unit from the wood pallet so I could unbox in my garage.

Well-packaged and easy to maneuver to a clear spot by myself. Very excited to see if as easy to use and as dependable as our EGO leaf blower. My 16-year old daughter and I easily opened the box and used a box cutter to remove one side panel so that we could unbox and then wheel out the unit.

Inside, the unit was well-packaged and in perfect condition. Instruction manuals were provided but my daughter intuitively attached the blower arm to the base unit. We then wheeled the unit out of the box, with one of us holding the front operation panel until it could be secured to the base unit.

Batteries are substantial in size and are easily dropped into the front compartment. Once the blower unit, operation panel, and batteries were installed, the unit was operable. We easily turned it on, moved the blower unit side to side and adjusted the top sprayer up and down.

Reverse and forward functions are easy to switch back and forth, and compressing the handle triggers does not require excessive strength. Maneuvering the unit could be compared to steering a double-stroller or a floor sander.

We anticipate that it will be easy to use and are actually excited for our first snow season in Northern Colorado.

This is the best electric snowblower out there by far, but it doesn’t tick all the boxes. I am rating it 3 stars relative to my area (we get 3-4ft per day for a week), in lighter areas my concerns may not be valid.

As an FYI we run it with 2 10Ah batteries, with a 5Ah backup. The positives: -super intuitive to use -easy to start and stop -can chew through almost as much as the top of the line 2 stage Honda snowblower -it is light enough you can move it around pretty easily to navigate around tight spaces The negatives: -battery life is a load of crap, we have a 2 car driveway and during the big storm we run out of power at ~60% completion, even running on the Eco setting and not using power drive unless it gets stuck (others in my area do the same) -50′ throwing distance is a load of crap, it could barely get over an 11ft snow bank on each side of our driveway -during the 2nd storm it ever experienced the chute rotating handle got stuck in place, but the chute could still rotate – so I have had to rotate by hand.

It’s clear that something inside the handle mechanism needs to be fixed to make the cables tight again, but it clearly has a design flaw as it should have issues like this so early on. It made it extremely difficult to clear our driveway with; the chute stuck to the right, 4″/h of snow, and squirrelly winds up to 40mph.

-customer service needs an overhaul, the phone wait times are so long that you need to dedicate a couple hours to get through and chat the problem out with them. They spend what feels like forever either helping you register your product, or confirming you have a registered product before they even ask you what is wrong (5+mins).

And then they walk through their troubleshoot guide asking you questions you’ve already answered. They need to spend more time thinking about the calls from the customers stand point, I am calling with frustration, I want to get my issue fixed and off the phone, not listen while your system is navigated.

-servicing for repairs, we get snowed in and not plowed for up to 4 days where we are, if we have an issue I need someone to help me trouble shoot and fix over the phone and send me replacement parts and a little step by step on how to do it correctly.

Otherwise I can’t even clear my driveway to be able to load the snowblower onto my truck and get it to the 1 location within a 100 miles that will service it. -I am still waiting for a fix from customer service for the chute issue (2-3 weeks now, but over the Christmas break) If you guys came out with a 3 stage snowblower that ran of 3-4 batteries and could ACTUALLY throw over a 20ft vertical snow bank I would but it in a heart beat.

You should have taken the Tesla approach for the snowblower, don’t match the industry power and function, build the best you can and blow all gas products out of the water. The instant torque and motor options out there for an electric snowblower would make it a gas killer if designed right.

But here, electric snowblowers are laughed at compared to 2 stage Hondas, even if they’re 20 years old.

– Easy to start, run and getting accustomed to the controls and overall handling of the machine. – Auger clutch lever: the springs are too tight; after a while the wrist starts hurting from holding the lever down.

– When the drive is engaged, the snowblower leaps forward causing the front to lift up. Need to account for that and start plowing further back from the snow pile. – Need also to take into account that when one reaches the end of the area one is plowing, to wait for the impeller to clear the snow from the chute before starting back.

– Only had about 3 inches of wet snow to clear so far this season. we’ll see how it performs during a larger snow storm.

Great machine, not as fancy as some, but really solid and performs well in wet snow. I had some trouble at first because the drive and impeller levers were opposite to my previous machine (drive on the left here).

I do wish first gear was a bit slower to allow for more finesse. Really throws the snow. By moving the spout up and down and carefully aiming you can put the snow right where you need it to go. I thought about getting one with tracks, but the tires on this thing don’t slip, and it turns relatively easy, considering how heavy it is.

The weight adds to its stability, though, so it’s worth it. I ordered it online and it showed up at my local Hometown Ace store the next business day! The staff at the store helped me load it. I was able to get it out of my small pickup by careful leveraging – but I’d recommend some additional help, especially a friend with a lift gate! I didn’t like that the assembly instructions were only pictures, but it was pretty easy to set up.

It came with the oil installed, and everything ship shape. I like it. Powerful, starts on the first pull, and chews through the snow like a champ.

4 month old snow blower. Followed the instructions to the letter. Used premium, zero ethanol gasoline from Shell. Piece of garbage doesn’t even start. Had to go out and shovel massive amounts of snow thanks to this absolute lemon.

Would NOT recommend this product to ANYONE. Now I need to figure out how to haul it 30 minutes away to the closest dealer for service but the thing is too big to fit in my SUV. What a headache. Thanks for nothing.

“In-line 2-Stage” in the marking write-up online, really means a single stage snow blower. My bad for not catching that, but that’s really deceptive marketing. We all know what a 2-Stage snow blower is, and I don’t think they should use the term 2-Stage for any single stage snow blower to confuse the issue, and try to weasel out of it by adding the modifier “inline”.

Toro should be better than this. I like the larger engine, and I really like the personal pace drive and the quick stick control of the chute direction. Since there’s no personal pace drive on a real two-stage, I’d still recommend this model for anything but the largest of consumer jobs.

The personal pace drive can be a bit jerky if you’re just moving it to another place without running the auger, like to start clearing a new area, but when it’s actually throwing snow it works really well.

If it’s just above freezing, say 34-35 deg F, and the snow is VERY wet and heavy, you do miss the 2nd stage, and the bottom of the chute tends to clog very easily with wet snow. You’ll notice snow or slush being thrown off the front of the auger and not out the chute, and I’ve had to stop several times and use a shovel handle to clear the bottom of the chute to get it working again.

If the snow is not really wet or heavy, it throws pretty well, as long as you don’t overload it or try to drive it too fast to clear itself out. The easy clogging in very wet snow, and the deceptive marking on “2-Stage” is why I knocked off one star.

Overall, it’s starting off working well for a new snow blower, and I’d recommend it. It was easy to assemble out of the box. I tested the electric start, and it worked great, but after so many years of pull starting everything, I never get out an extension cord to use that, and I only pull start it.

The pull start works OK, and the engine, like most Toro products I’ve ever bought, starts up well enough to not really need the electric starter for me. I think the diameter of the pully it’s working on is a big too large, so it’s easier to pull the starter rope with the larger engine, but slower cranking than a smaller diameter pulley would be.

The same pull speed I use on older snow blowers, and my current Toro lawn mower doesn’t get it started, it just takes a quicker pull on the rope to turn it over a bit faster for it to catch. Once you know to really pull it quickly, it starts on the first pull every time.

For me, it’s so easy to pull, I’d appreciate a smaller pulley. A little bit more effort on a smaller pully would be preferable to feeling like I’m trying to throw a fast ball to get this one spinning quick enough to catch.

I also really like the oil drain tube out the back of the engine. You can pull the drain plug, and push the rear handle down to slant the engine back, and get the oil drained right out the back of the engine via a tube, and right into your drain pan.

No crawling, searching underneath, or strange tipping sideways required, which would be tough on a heavier device like this one. One thing that’s not easily visible, and I may have to remove some covers to find it better the first time, is how to disconnect the gas line between the fuel tank and the carburetor, to drain the fuel in the spring.

I really don’t want to have to buy a fuel siphon pump to pump out the fuel tank from the top, and my other Toro engines all have easy access to the fuel hose so I can just pop it off, and drain it into a gas can.

I’m hoping once I get a better look under some covers, this one will work the same way, and be easy to drain every year.

When looking to replace my old single stage snowblower, I wanted something that was more powerful but I wasn’t interested in one of those oversized monsters that is difficult to use. I was convinced that I needed a two stage to get the higher power.

The problem was most of the two stages I looked at had like 4 to 6 forward speeds and 1 or 2 backup speeds. It just seems like stopping every time you wanted to change speeds was more trouble than it was worth.

Then I ran across the Toro SnowMaster series. I initially ruled it out because it was not a truly two stage, but eventually circled back when I did not find what I was looking in a two stage. When I started researching the SnowMaster 824 QXE, I realized it was better than I was initially looking for.

I was familiar with the Personal Pace feature with their lawn mower series. The reviews that I read said that the single augur worked as well as the dual augur due to some amazing engineering. I liked the idea that you can move as fast or slow as you want to without stopping and changing gears.

One review said that the Personal Pace does take some getting used to, which I agree. After using it for a few passes, it doesn’t take very long to master the Personal Pace feature. What impressed me most was the design of the chute control.

I was worried that it wouldn’t be that good. To my surprise, the shifting action is solid and very easy to use. You can literally change the direction of the chute and the distance angle without stopping.

You shift it in the direction and angle you wish to go and it locks into place when you let go of the control. By far, it’s the best snow blower on the market. I typically read more of the negative reviews than the positive to see what troubles others have had.

One of the complaints was it does not get low enough to the ground. I had no trouble with that which leads me to believe the glides were not adjusted to their liking. Simple adjustment should take care of that.

Its easy to setup, and easy to use, and does an excellent job. Thank you Toro for your amazing engineering.

If you hate having snow on your driveway ,buy this bad boy! Light , agile, POWERFUL, responsive, easy start and great in any type of the white stuff. This unit will throw the snow back into the heavens from where it came.

This little unit punches well above it weight , the 824 engine purrs along as the auger rips through the snow like it’s pi**ed off. This lightweight snowblower with power drive wheels and easy turn can be handled with ease by most any adult.

The joystick control is the best on the market. And for those still not convinced just yet , I live outside Erie pa. Yearly our city is in the running for snowiest city in the lower 48 states. (Winning the award several times).

Now …. I’m not bragging but we do know a little about snow removal. I have owned single stages. 2 stages , 3 stages and now his toro hybrid. This snowmaster is my favorite choice for any type of snow.

My unit was delivered by my local toro dealer ,lakefront mower in Erie pa. It came completely assembled and gas and oil were full ready to go. My best honest advice is this is a game changer when it comes to snowblowers.

I can’t wait until toro releases a battery version of this snowblower. There are several video reviews of this snowmaster on YouTube, there you can see this unit in real life situations. I couldn’t be happier with this little go getter.

Treat yourself (and your back) by pressing the buy it now button. Growing up and growing old in a snow belt , I have used every type and brand of snowblowers. I. M. O. Toro never disappoints, and is second to none.

We recently moved into an area that has lake effect weather. Everyone told me get a snow blower. I did my research and narrowed it down to a few brands. He problem i encountered was that very few snowblowers were in stock.

Fortunately, i found this Toro, a brand i trusted. Our first snow with it was 14″ and outside of the starting instructions, i went into this blind. It didn’t matter; the Toro 724QXE was easy to maneuver and bit into the heavy snow like one of the “big boys”.

Our drive is pretty long and is three cars wide at the bottom with a turn around at the top. It was a joy to clear. Before the Toro we both shoveled for over an hour until our neighbor brought his snowblower over.

The only hassle i have encountered was the joy stick that controls the chute. Its sloppy feeling and and is sometimes difficult to get the exhaust chute where you want it. I am suspecting that the cables need adjusted, i just haven’t had time to check.

All in all this first snowblower has been great. I don’t need to use the electric start as it fires up manually on the first pull. It does fill my garage and require two of us to move it or operate it! I have to say that the SnowMaster 724 QXE exceeded my expectations.

I purchased it fearing it wouldn’t handle the fierce Northeastern Ohio winters but it just chuckled and said, “I got this”. Great product, Toro and i thought you just made lawnmowers.

For a single stage snowblower this product is amazing. Not much cheaper than a 2 stage blower but for 95% of the winter you will get the job done in half the time. Starts easily, light in weight and simple to use especially with the joystick shute control.

The ‘Personal pace’ system works really well on the flat but a little awkward up a slope. (minor modification and tuning needed). A reverse gear would be nice but most single stage blowers don’t even have a forward gear.

Although a similar price to a 2 stage blower this little thing will not disappoint. Compacted icy snow banks need more of a ‘stabbing’ action but it will throw everything else the distance Toro claim.

It will also manage slush without clogging and even pump water if needed! For the extra $200 I might have got the larger engined 824 model but it wasn’t available at the time. I will never know the difference as I am perfectly happy with this one.

This Toro Snow Commander 724 QXE is my third Toro snow blower. I purchsed this due to the experience I have had with the previous 2. This is my second season of use and I can not convey completely my dissatisfaction and dissapointment in the performance of this snow blower.

The single snow chute control is a great idea that is poorly executed. During use, the plastic gears and housing deflect and catches so that it will not allow movement. Will turn the chute to the left but not the right.

I have to hold the control lever with one hand while manually rotating the chute to the desired position. It is not a one hand operation as advertised. Very frustrating. There are no broken parts or adjustment that will allow for smooth operation.

Very poorly engineered.

Purchased this machine online and picked up same day. Replacing 2009 machine same make, model and size. Brought it home, topped up oil, gas, fired it up and it blew oil all over the bricks of my home and interlock pavers! Neither of the two oil reservoir plugs had been installed.

Spoke to customer service, escalated and promised a prompt response by manager. Didn’t call. I chased down someone else the next day. They hunted up an oil plug and so I made the trip in again. Wrong plug and only one provided when two were required.

This assembly oversight gave me concern for what else could be wrong with this machine since this apparently was a mystery to all at CTC. Five days later and several more calls and emails and no resolution other than “manager will be in contact”.

That plus the clear reduction in build quality and engine size compared to the older model I was replacing resulted in me returning the machine for a refund. I purchased an Arien Deluxe 28 SHO from a dealer to make sure I was getting a better quality machine that was set up by technicians before I took it home.

100% ready to go, oil, gas, skid plates adjusted. Still no word from Canadian Tire about damage to my bricks and driveway.

Bought for myself before Christmas to replace my well used 11 year old Husky. Bought because 1, it was in stock, 2, Troy-Bilt is a great brand, 3, this one had powerful engine and features power steering, hand warmers, and electric start, and 4, and most importantly bought interest-free with my triangle Mastercard.

Two years from now it will be all mine. Curbside pickup was simple, safe and convenient. Used it three times already and you can really notice the machines ability to handle heavy snow falls, wet snow and the hard packed present the snow plow leaves at the end of your driveway.

Alot easier to aim where the snow gets blown with the longer shoot that also reduces blowback. Six speeds makes clearing driveway even faster. Tackled 40 cm blizzard the other day easily. Hopefully keeps performing like this and lasts as long as my old one.

Just got this machine and can’t complain one iota about its ability to throw snow. Nice and determined- and FAST! I don’t use it past 2nd gear. My only concern is the 2-way chute control. While using the machine, the chute deflector joystick won’t stay in position- and the result is sky-high snow discharge after only a few seconds.

I tightened the crank all the way on the chute deflector, but it still tilts up – along with the joystick/lever. Clearly, this isn’t a problem with the chute, but the inability of the lever to lock in place.

Any advice on a fix for this would be most appreciated. Not a cheap machine, and I’m hoping this isn’t a quality issue- as I see other models offer a much smarter lever control that notches into place.

I bought this in November 2021, and used it once before it completely died, Jan 3, 2022. The auger literally would not start at all. I called Ego Customer service and after hours back and forth on the phone, I was directed to take the unit to the nearest service center (75KM away).

The authorized dealer assessed it, and thought they knew what needed to be fixed. The part they THOUGHT they needed was on back order and when the part came in, it didn’t fix the problem. They tried replacing multiple parts before EGO was finally convinced that it was a dead unit, a month and a half after it went in for warranty repair.

Ego authorized a replacement snowblower and we picked it up on February 16, 2022. It’s now March 12, 2022, I’ve used the replacement twice before it too died—albeit in a different way! On our third snowfall, about halfway through our driveway, it rapidly discharged and overheated any battery placed in the left battery port, while the right-side battery sat at full charge.

I was not sure if it was the battery or the snowblower, so I put in a fresh battery (I have multiple other EGO products that I LOVE). The fully charged battery I put in overheated and FULLY discharged itself in less than 50 feet of travel on my driveway (less than a minute).

BOTH batteries smelled of burnt plastic when I took them out, and both were warm to the touch in a -10 windchill. Ego’s answer to this is to replace the already replaced snow blower, but not the batteries.

I’ve lost all faith in this product. I love their lawnmower, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, weed whipper, and leaf blower, and we were considering their new ride on mower (but no longer). While their other products are excellent, their customer service needs a complete overhaul and their Snowblower needs FAR better quality-control or a redesign.

Avoid it!.

It’s a great snow blower. I use it for commercial use and it is ran 7-12 hours on a snow day. This snow blower is a 5 out of 5 stars for any residential user, no question. However, I use this snow blower in the worst of the of the worst and have found a few areas of improvement.

First, snow gets into the battery compartment when closed. I have to open the battery compartment multiple times outside and with the snow build up inside plus any other snow the gets in while switching batteries CAN cause snow to compact under the batteries and make it difficult to insert new batteries, though this has only happens after 2 or more days of snow blowing in a row.

Another more common issue is the switches/levels to release the batteries will get stuck and become hard to move or even get stuck and you have to either warm the snow blower up (which isn’t an option when I’m working) or use something like a screw driver and hammer to gently tap and break the ice so the switch/level release can move.

I have a large property were it takes 5-7 hours of just snow blowing and have found another issue. This one property has open fields that on a windy day will get 8-12inches of super compact snow drifts (even without any actual snow fall).

The snow blower has a hard time getting down to payment and with actually ride up the drifts and I’ll be pushing it into the drift, the wheel will also spin out like crazy and tractor will become an issue.

This is the only property I have had this issue on, it will easily go through compacted snow at the end of driveways, but this property is an except with extremely compacted snow. However, as a contractor, I would like a heavier machine with tracks that will plow through the stuff and not spin out.

I bought a Toro Power Clear 721 from Acme in fall 2021. I used it for the first time two days ago for a less-than 2″ snowfall. Should have been no problem, right? Not exactly. I cleared ten feet of driveway when I heard a loud thumping noise as the machine started vibrating whenever the rotor was engaged.

I shut it down, put it away for the night and finished clearing the snow with a shovel. The next day, I compared the rotor assembly on my Toro with the Toro parts list for this machine and found it was missing one of two “half rotors.

” These are two metal plates that attach the rubber paddles to the rotor shaft. This is a fairly large and critical part to leave out, yet, somehow, both the assembler and quality control missed it. I called Toro and was told to “bring it to a Toro repair center for warranty evaluation.

” I asked that they just send me the $7. 00 part so I wouldn’t have to pick up a 90 pound machine, place it in my car and deliver it to a service center. Mind you, this is not a complicated assembly.

The half rotor attaches to the drive rotor/shaft with one bolt and to the paddles with four bolts–no rocket science, unicorn farts or magic here, folks. I was told “no” on the replacement part because their “procedure is to have the machine looked at by an authorized dealer to confirm that the machine was built correctly.

” The time to assess if the machine was built correctly was when it was checked by quality control. I was also told that the “part might have come off during use. ” Trust me, if a steel plate had launched out of the front of my machine, I would have heard and noticed it.

I was given the option of buying the part from Toro. com. Aside from missing the half-rotor, the machine starts and runs fine (at least until the paddles are engaged). I tried to give the manufacturer a chance at making it right that doesn’t involve me hauling a new 90 pound machine to a repair shop to fix their omission.

Younger me probably would have complied with this idiocy. But older me resents buying a 700 dollar showthrower that was built incorrectly only to have to deliver it to a repair shop or be told to buy the omitted part to correct their oversight.

To be clear, I have no issue with Acme Tools. This is my second purchase from them. The other was a Honda mower, which works great.

New house with a huge driveway meant it was time to replace our old, trusty 16 inch Powerlite. I contemplated going battery powered, but just don’t trust the technology yet. So went with the 721 w/ electric start.

Only used it twice, but it’s a BEAST! No issues with the snow on the ground or the 20+ inch drifts at the bottom of the driveway. Right out of the box, started on the second pull. Haven’t even bothered to use the electric starter yet.

(May not get a chance until next winter. ) My only small complaints are that it would be nice to have a lever that runs up the handle to move the chute from left to right without having to bend over.

Would make for slightly quicker work. Would also like a better mechanism for shutting off the snowblower. Pulling the “key” out is awkward when wearing gloves. I’m sure there’s a totally legit reason they went with this function, but a kill switch would be a bit easier.

But hey, Toro has been building snowblowers since long before I was born. So I trust they know what they are doing.

The Toro 721QZE is a great snow blower. Easy to turn and move around as you are clearing drive or sidewalk. The place that I am a facility director for uses one of these. When I tried it I knew the first time that I needed one personally for my home.

Being tired of fighting a big 2 stage machine I purchased one and have not had any regrets. Loved it so much I have purchased 2 more for use at our facility. Everyone loves this machine. Throws snow a long ways, pulls itself along by the spinning paddles acting like it wants to do it for you.

Cleans all the way down to the pavement. Making pavement dry so fast after cleaning off snow. Perfect machine and electric start to boot. Although you probably will not use that very often because pulling cord is so easy and effortless starting first time.

What are you waiting for sell that big machine and quit fighting the battle, your back and arms will thank you. This goes through 10-12″ of snow effortlessly.

I bought this Toro QZE 721 model 38756, back in June 2021. The reason I chose this model was it had excellent reviews, as I was replacing an older Toro. Starts easy, handles well except for one issue that’s a pain in the rear.

The wheels are plastic (Junk) which the snow & ice will accumulate. It clumps and freezes to the wheels making it difficult for wheels to roll, which no blower to ground contact. According to Toro responses I’ve read about, was to leave outside before using (stored in a shed) and when issues arise scrape & remove build up.

That’s like every pass I make! After spending hundreds of dollars on this unit, I should not have to do this. Is there a fix to this issue, replacement of hard rubber wheels (like older models) or a protective spray to eradicate this problem! Help, I would like to enjoy using this blower again without having this issue.

I have been using this blower for 3 years now and, for the price, you really can’t beat it. I purchased it on sale for 399 from Walmart online in 2018. The PROS: with the right adjustments, it can handle up to 20 in of snow, the engine is very reliable so far and always starts with relative ease, the controls are easy to use and it has a gas line shut off which is good for storage.

Assembly is straightforward. The CONS: my only issue was that this year in heavier snow I started to smell the drive belt burning. I took the cover off and saw it was wearing fast because it was set too loose.

Luckily by moving bolt and tightening the actuator cable, I was able to tighten the belt and, since then, no issues and pushes out heavy snow well. NOTE: if you notice burnt rubber smell or the blower struggling to push snow far out of the chute, make this adjustment as soon as possible.

Also, this blower could use some grips but nothing that can’t be fixed easily with padded grip tape. Again, if you’re on a budget, for the price, you probably won’t find a better blower out there.

When purchased all bolts and nuts were missing, but Customer Service had those in my hands in 3 business days. Easy assembly with basic hand tools. (about 30 minutes). with another set of hands to help.

Filled with gas and oil and started with one pull of the manual pull start. Unit runs great. electric start feature on this model is great. Actually looking forward to snow this year.

Assembly was a little bit of a pain, but for the price worth the time! Works great, and this is my second winter season using it. Starts right up (I had to prime the engine more than 3 pumps, about 10) and cuts through the wet, heavy snow that we received in Chicago recently.

I even plowed my neighbors driveway, sidewalk and my back yard without running out of fuel. Well worth the $470 it costs! I recommend tire chains if you have any deep inclines on your property.

I purchased this product to allow me to clear a steep incline long driveway as well as clear paths off pavement also up fairly steep inclines. I wanted the power to accomplish both of those jobs after having had a lawn tractor with the snow thrower attachment for many years.

The product certainly has the power and does a good job throwing the snow and getting up the inclines. I would’ve given five stars, but I cannot seem to get the adjustment of the scraper bar and the shoes it really drives front and down causing the scraper bar to lurch across the pavement, rather than scraping smoothly and cleanly.

The only resolution I have found so far is to adjust the shoes and raise the scraper bar slightly. This solves the lurching problem, but leaves a small film of snow and ice on the pavement, which is the whole purpose for having a snow removal.

Unfortunately, no dealer has been able to provide me with an answer to this problem. If you are looking for a very powerful machine that will throw all types of snow material and ice well away from the area you are cleaning, this is your machine.

It starts quickly, stays running, and has plenty of speeds and adjustments for really any application. Again, this would’ve been a five-star rating had I been able to figure out the alignment and adjustment, or received a little guidance from one of the dealers I contacted.

I bought this machine to replace my 27-year-old Ariens ST524, which started on the 1st or 2nd pull. I live in the great state of WI and this year we are getting way too much snow. The first time I used this machine it was a little hard to handle.

It was hard to keep it straight, the snow chute only turns 180 degrees not the advertised 200, and the ice hole turn handle takes some getting used to. After about the fourth snowfall I bought the carbon skid shoes and it handled like a totally different machine.

Much easier to steer. This thing has a ton of power in wet heavy snow. I would recommend this snowblower.

My old snow blower died and I needed to quickly find a replacement. After doing some online research I purchased the Troy-Bilt Storm 2665 through the Troy-Bilt web site. The purchase process went well, and the customer support I received when I called to check on delivery was top rate.

There was a bit of work to assemble the snow blower once it arrived, but the directions described each step and within a couple of hours the snow blower was ready. We’ve had two winter storms since then, and the snow blower has performed flawlessly.

I got the 2665 to get the slightly larger engine, and it had no problems digging through the 12″ pile of snow left at the end of my driveway by the street plow. The engine starts on the first pull, and the controls are easy to operate.

One thing I really like is the distance that this blower will throw the snow. At maximum range the snow will fly 20-25 feet. Overall a great purchase. I can hardly wait until the next big snow storm!.

I used this blower last year (purchased at the local big box hardware store on 1/24/20), and only got to use it a couple of times. Put fuel stabilizer in the tank before storing, and this winter, got it out and won’t start.

Won’t start with pull rope or electric start. Carb bowl float isn’t dirty at all, no residue whatsoever. Completely drained fuel (and stabilizer) from the system, put in fresh fuel and nothing. Won’t start.

Not even 12 months old. pretty upset that I sold my lawn tractor with snowthrower attachment last winter because it was too much of a hassle getting it changed over only to have a snowblower that won’t even start up now.

I bought a troy bilt 26 inch version with e start, hot grips and drift cutters 18 years ago and this unit has not missed a beat. Starts first or second pull at any temp, my coldest start has 33 below.

Handles any size snow fall that bc prince george area can drop with ease. Truly an awsome machine.

CUB CADET 3X 26″ Track Drive Ask why a snow blower vs. a snow plow: Do you need a plow or a blower. Do you have a long-run place to blow snow? Do you have a end zone for plowed snow? Plows can move ice, sleet, and snow.

Sleet/Ice will jam in the snow blower chute. Track Drive: Really hard to maneuver in tight areas when you also have to be adjusting the chute – you run out of hands. Need to plan your moves and get experience and not look like a rookie.

This is too big for small areas. Consider wheel drive with chains instead of track drive. I have not lost a tread: My neighbor has that problem all the time on a different brand. 3-stage: Not much clearance between thrower blade and housing.

Constantly watch the chute to ensure 3rd stage is working or it will get packed when the pin shears and the auger is still working. Pull start: Best after unit is warm for restarting. Use the choke. Try without priming first.

Usually starts quickly. Reliabilty: Do NOT run with choke on. Store in a shelter area when not in use. Use alcohol-free gasoline. I am getting my money worth. Gravel: 3/8″ minus (#9) is causing real problems.

Getting jammed between throwing blade and the housing thereby shearing the pin. When not jammed , the gravel is shot out and come snow melt is all over the yard. You can break windows if not careful.

Hopefully, my gravel will all be crushed in a couple of years because it volcanic rock and not river rock. Gravel takes patience and learning where to throw the snow with gravel in it. 50 shear pins is really what you need if you have gravel.

738-05273-50 (shear pin) and 714-04040-50 (cotter pin). The thrower not the auger jams. Usually I can find the old cotter pin. Spare Shear pins: I like that 2 spare pin sets are included in the handles.

Yet, I put several in my pocket each time I start just in case. (I have a piece of wood to kneel on when cleaning out the jammed packed snow. ) Remember to lift into travel mode to make clearing out the pack snow easier.

Light: The light is not that bright. I carry a rechargable 800 lumens LED useful when a shear pin breaks. Speed control: I never need this many speeds forward: I have windows, porches. gates to maneuver past.

Slow gives the time needed to adjust the chute. I quess others like the options. Noise: All the neighbors know when I am using my snow blower so let them sleep and be considerate and avoid in the middle of the night.

Overall: What are you going to do? Bought mine because it snowed faster than I could shovel. Works best on bare ground or pavement with long distances (e. g. long driveway). Really hard to maneuver in 20 foot areas (e.

g. in front of my garage) and requires walking slowly on-and-off the clutch and clearing a turn-around area before starting. Documentation: Wrong shear pin listed in my documentation. 738-04124A was not installed for 3-stage thrower.

Use the correct pins in the correct locations. They were engineered to perform correctly. When the shear pin breaks, be thankful the neither housing nor blade were not damaged.

Have my C/C 3X 26″ TRAC Snow Blower for my 5th winter season. Thing thing is a BEAST. Extraordinarily reliable. I live in MA in the Worcester Hills where weather is funneled into our area, so snow storms are at an extreme here.

This past Saturday, we got almost 30″ of snow, not counting the 4′ drifts. My Trak C/C didn’t disappoint. I was outside cleaning up not only my home but some of my neighbors homes. Their Craftsman’s and Toro’s failed to push through the deep and heavy snow.

The Trak system is far superior to any two-wheeled snow blower. This thing cuts through the snow like a hot knife through butter. I’ve always been amazed at how far this machine throws the snow. One of my neighbors has a two-wheeled Ariens and we’ve both gone head-to-head.

My C/C was always just a click ahead of the Ariens. (Should have made a YouTube review about this). This machine has paid me back exponentially. Thank you Cub Cadet for making such an marvel of a machine!.

We had our first real snow in the Sierra Nevada’s overnight. It was a perfect opportunity to try out the Cub Cadet for the first time. The first thing I liked was that it started with one pull after being in a cold shed during the night.

After that, it was off to the races. It took a few minutes to get used to all the hand controls, and while I thought the heated hand grips were going to be a joke, they were actually a welcome addition.

Pulling levers to go right and left while at the same time moving forward and blowing snow in the right direction was a bit of a learning curve. After about 5 minutes I learned that the auger will stay spinning even if you let go of the handle if you are moving forward.

That was a huge help and a thoughtful feature. I can’t think of anything negative to say about this product. It performs as advertised and I am looking forward to putting my snow shovel away for the upcoming storms.

This one was the perfect size for me to clear the walkways and around the garage doors so I can get the tractor out and do the big work.

This is a really good, powerful, and sometimes easy to use blower that will handle almost any snow conditions. On relatively flat or evenly sloped ground it will plow through light or wet snow with ease and throws it a long way.

But, on uneven surfaces or partially packed snow it’s a bear to control because Toro removed the independent wheel controls in favor of some kind of limited slip drive. This works fine on even ground, but on slopes or near driveway edges where older snow packs down it’s a work-out to keep the blower on track.

The blower constantly wants to turn to whichever side is offering the most resistance. In my previous Toro, I’d just use the handle controls to switch drive power to one wheel and it would stay on track.

Now, I literally have to muscle the blower to one side. It works, but it’s really a work out. It’s a shame, because overall this is a really good blower and better than my last Toro. It would be great if it had the independent wheel controls, and I’m just not understanding why they would do away with that simple yet effective feature.

Powerful Snowblower that cuts through snow quickly and efficiently. When it recently snowed 6 inches on our driveway measuring nearly 0. 2 miles, or 1060 feet, it was able to remove it all within just over an hour.

The only issue I have with this unit is the “Quick stick. ” While the Quick Stick allows you to do one handed operation and move the direction the snow is blowing, in cold weather that is around 0 degrees it freezes up, and becomes difficult to move.

Arians simple crank maybe lower tech, but it actually worked better than this one does. However, this powerful blower with a 10 hp engine is more than enough to get the driveway done at a faster pace than my old Airans.

The electric starter I tried once and it starts right up. The pull starter works as well. Ice does not slow down this unit. When I had an inch of ice and three inches of snow on top of it, it chopped up the ice and sent the snow and ice off my driveway.

The fact it can do this fairly quickly as well was a nice surprise. Now expecting 10 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow and hopefully on Sunday it can take care of it in under 90 minutes.

So far since I bought this machine a month ago, we have only had 6″ of snow, and my driveway is NOT WHAT IS SHOWN IN EVERY VIDEO on your site or on any other equipment mfg. ‘s sites. the driveways or parking lots are ALWAYS LEVEL, and ALWAYS with a lot of room to move around.

This way there is no real work involved for the operator, just put in gear and walk behind it and let it do it’s thing, (move snow). My driveway on the other hand is all up hill and long, and only 8′ wide.

It is wider on the bottom near the 2 car garage, but I have limited room to throw the snow, that is why I cannot have it done with a truck/plow. There is no question about the power of this machine and how it is built, (very sturdy), but in truth, because of the weight of it, it is a bit difficult to use on a long up hill, a bit uneven asphalt driveway.

I have no doubt this machine would be tremendous ON AN ALL LEVEL PLAIN, but I am not as happy with it as I thought I would be. In addition, evidently the men who prepare the machines for pick up or delivery by or to the customer, did not check the tire pressure because as I used it the first time it pulled severely to the right, so much so that I literally had to fight to keep it straight, but could not until I realized the right side tire needed much air.

It was better after I put air in it, but I still was not100% pleased with it. Maybe I just need to get more used to it, but I have had my old snow blower for 25 years and was always satisfied with it.

I would recommend this machine to people who only had flat level driveway or lots, not to anyone who has a hilly or up hill and uneven driveway, like mine. I ended up finishing my snow blowing with my Toro 721 snow thrower which honestly is easier to use and handle.

I will only use the Power Max for deep snows that might be too much of for the smaller and lighter machine.

I bought this unit after many years of using older used machines that others have used , abused, neglected and all needed major repairs etc. thought it was time to buy something new , getting tired of limping along older ones…as starting not being able to find parts etc.

New 26 inch cub cadet: Assembly easy straight forward, packaged well, only a few scuffs, and a few imperfections in paint from factory, etc. All cables and adjustments seem to be well, put together fairly well.

Only minor adjustment needed so nothing was binding or trying to travel beyond the “max travel” I check over all things, fueled and added oil. Started 1 pull, runs well, but when it’s cold runs better with choke in 1st position off run side.

This is typical with any new engine as they are so lean from the factory. Nothing too surprising here. operates well, the steering or lower lever turning controls are a great idea, but the levers are not ergonomically.

Too short and throw distance is too far of a reach to be convenient. These would be great if designed a little better. I end up never using them. The main top levers for auger engagement and drive are very hard to push and after a hour or so of snow blowing your hands will feel it, all my older units had similar levers but a better cam like similar to a bow with a “ let off” feel to them once engaged all the way, none of the older ones had as much spring tension as this one does when fully engaged against the handle.

Its probable a safety thing, but somewhat uncomfortable after a hour or so. It was a hard decision between the 24 inch and 26 inch. I selected this model over the 24 inch due to the metal chute, instead of plastic, but I like the plastic chute control via solid rod and handle, 26 inch model uses a flex drive cable rerouted to the handle, so not as precise control and it is mounted low and you may find your leg/knee hitting it from time to time, having to bending down slightly to grab, should have been mounted higher, and solid rod control mounted higher like on the 24 inch, would have been much better for a larger heavy chute like this, as I also question the longevity of using these flex drive cables.

Engine is decent, nothing out of the normal here. The included Blue skids look odd and seem like an afterthought, as far as color goes, I swapped them out for black, looks much better, I will also be modifying the chute control type and location as well as auger and drive lever tension.

All and all good, reliable machine, so far 1 winter with moderate snow fall for Minnesota, we’ll see what next year brings. A lot of good features, and a lot of good ideas, but not have been dialed in or executed very well, but the basic engine and thrower (auger, chute, gearing , and chassis part) operates well.

I purchased the snowblower last year from Lowes and it worked great for one season, always using 91 octane fuel. At the end of the season I ran it dry and stored it exactly how the manufacturer stated i should store it.

Fast forward to now, the snow blower does not want to start and is not working at all. I had to wait 5 weeks for the company that services their product to take a look at my machine just to have them tell me the carburetor was completely dirty.

When i spoke to the mechanic as explained to him how i stored the machine over the summer and stated that it did not make sense that the carburetor be that dirty. However, he stated that there was nothing he could do because cub cadet does not cover this.

So now im stuck with a 300$ bill. I had to use this expensive company as it was the only one that dealt with cub cadet warranty. i could have gotten it cleaned for 150 with other companies. The people i talked to at cub cadet were extremely rude and just dismissed me right away.

I would strongly suggest you stay away from this company in the future and will definitely never recommend them to anyone.

I’ve had my Cub Cadet 2X26 for three seasons and have been generally happy with it. That said, the shaft on the choke control rod snapped off at the beginning of this winter. The shaft broke flush with the aluminum carb casting so there is no simple repair.

The actual choke plate is sheetmetal which is crimped onto the plastic shaft. So the choke plate cannot be removed to replace the broken shaft. Plus a replacement carb had a 6 week lead time. “Awesome”.

Looking at the web pages for Huayi – the manufacturer of the carb. there are DOZENS of various designs of the same basic size which do have a steel shaft and removable/replaceable plate, so Cub Cadet obviously chose a highly inferior (el-cheapo) carb.

I get it, you were designing to a price point, but – Hey – these snowblowers are not cheap! So, knowing these get used in very cold climates – and then to spec them with a plastic shaft (brittle at cold temps) is a latent design defect/oversight.

(Oh and I’m just past warranty too) I have been a machine designer and professional engineer for 40 years. I’ll go to Huayi and find a compatible carb with a steel shaft and removable chole plate. then will rig an appropriate choke control.

Come on C. C. you know better – spec proper components.

The good: This snow thrower appears to be well built, using quality components. It starts on the first or second pull every time, so I have never even used the electric start, even after sitting through the summer.

It has great features like a bright headlight, handwarmers, lots of speed options, and remote adjustment of the chute. The bad: The three stage set-up (as much as I wanted it to work) seems like a gimmick.

The snow here on the front range in Colorado can vary from incredibly light (when it snows in the middle of winter), to very thick and heavy when we get an early or late snow. With light fluffy snow, it does just fine- but then again, so would any snow blower.

When the snow gets a little bit of moisture content (read sticky), this beast seems to just push the snow in front of it, instead of plowing through it. It has plenty of power, and it will just keep pushing and pushing, but that leads to giant piles on either side of the path you are moving, including pushing snow back into the clean row next to you that you just plowed.

I end up having to stop on a regular basis, dig out the front, back up, max out the speed, and get a run at the giant pile that has been pushed, and then sometimes the auger will chew through it, bogging the engine down, but never fully killing it.

One last “bad” thing- out of the store, reverse almost doesn’t even work. It is so slow and underpowered, that you can’t really use it. There is an adjustment on the underside of the unit that you can use to get a little more reverse speed, but even with that fairly maxed out, it is frustratingly slow in reverse.

I understand that this may be due to safety concerns, but sometimes it is so slow in reverse that it doesn’t have the power to actually move. I wanted to love this snow blower, because it was a huge investment, but it turns out that it is average at best.

I’ve owned four snowblowers in the past forty years but this is by far the worst I’ve owned. This Toro 826 is only a year old. On the fifth time I used the machine a flimsy metal clip holding the left wheel on broke resulting in the loss of a small metal bar inside it meaning thee wheel was no longer locked to the axle.

Toro did send me replacement parts that were incorrect and I ended up purchasing parts from a local Toro dealer. The next time the impeller bolts sheared in 10 inches of fresh light snow yet Toro insists there are no shear bolts on the machine.

I managed to find replacements and they were easy to replace This last time, yesterday, the machine in about 15 inches of fresh fallen (not heavy, wet) snow suddenly became impossible to steer and then the drive wheels immediately stopped completely with very loud grinding sounds coming from inside the machine.

The engine never stopped or stalled but kept running. To say I’m unimpressed with Toro quality is an understatement. What will Toro do to rectify this situation? I have no idea how I’m even going to get the machine to the repair shop for warranty work as I have no means to get it there.

This has been a horrible situation with a defective product from the first day of it’s purchase. Again, will Toro correct this other than say sorry and give me a phone number to the repair depot?.

I was fortunate enough to be able to use this snow blower within the first 30 days of my purchase because I had issues. Issue one, the discharge chute controlled by a joystick on the top of console would not lock in place when I was using it.

It was fine in the garage when not in use but when using the blower, the chute would fall to the low side of snow blower and swing limply. As one can imagine this wasnt easy to use in this condition.

Like I said I was fortunate to have used it within the first 30 days and the box store gladly exchanged it for a single stage Toro snow blower. Maybe it was put together incorrectly I did not troubleshoot I just exchanged as it was to big and clunky for my wife to use anyway.

That’s why I went with a single stage. I’ve always had great luck with Toro I think this models joystick control of the shoot is new design and all the glitches have not been worked out yet.

The Toro E26 was worth every penny. It is light, a turn of the key easy to start, quiet, and throws snow with ease. To put it in perspective, we had a 9-14″ inch snow at about 30 degrees F. The snow was moderately heavy and wet.

The E26 had no issues throwing that much and heavy snow 20′. Its throw power was very similar to my neighbors 30″ gas powered Ariens. Likewise, when with the plow piling over 3′ at the end of the driveway the blower was able to cut through and along the drift with several passes no problem.

The lightness of the blower caused it to want to climb the bank instead of go through it, but that ultimately helped get the job done. With 2 of the 7. 5 AMP batteries I was able to make two complete passes over my 1044 square foot slopped drive at an average of 10″ snow depth.

I was also able to do two passes along the front 200′ along the curb. Batteries took 3 hours to charge. For being a first year model, it only needs a few minor refinements to be perfect: – A standalone on/off switch for the lights.

– A warning sound for low battery. – Ability to plug-in to charge the batteries. – Removal of the safety trigger on the auger engagement paddle. – The setup instructions could be improved to include more detail on what screws and parts should be installed.

You can figure out, but it wastes time. – Add an additional 5 degrees for the chute to throw snow towards the back of the blower. – A fast charger for the batteries. Even with those minor refinements, there somethings that make the E26 stand out: – The chute control joystick simplifies moving the chute.

– No gas means no problems starting or gas system / carburetor related maintenance. – It sounds like a vacuum. – The anti-clog system really prevents clogging. – Though I don’t have a third battery, the option to have one is huge as I will be adding one so I can help my neighbors as needed.

– It is light. So easy to move around and eliminates the need for constantly switching between forward and reverse. – Throw power is on par with even beefier gas snow blowers. Without a doubt there is very few reasons to hesitate on purchasing this snow blower.

It simply helps you get the job done without fuss and noise of a gas snow blower.

I used to have an Ariens 28” Deluxe gas snowblower. While it was a very well built snowblower, this Toro electric is superior in every respect. Now I know I am comparing apples and oranges because the Toro is a much more expensive machine than the entry level Ariens.

I am sure the efi Ariens Platinum is a better machine than my entry level Deluxe. But some things are only possible with an electric Here are some features I am off the charts happy about 1. I’ve hit some rocks with the Toro and never sheared a pin.

2. It never bogs down like the carburetor Ariens. Now the fuel injected Ariens may be just as torquey, but I am totally satisfied with the torque of the electric motor of the Toro. 3. Even on Eco mode, the Toro throws snow plenty far away.

The county snowplow pushed a foot of heavy slush into my driveway while I was out of town. It froze in too big, hard chunks. The Toro went through it in ECO mode without breaking out a sweat. 4. Toro us not kidding when they say they have a patented way they throw snow more efficiently.

I have gone through heavy powder to wet slush, and never clogged the chute. The only thing I have to do is bring it inside a warm garage to melt of remaining slush in the chute and the roto- blades so that it starts clean every time.

5. Even though Toro says their 2 stage doesn’t clean all the way down to the asphalt, I have to say how impressed I am with the fact that it that it gets really, really close, even over tracks left from driving over it.

I know I should adjust my scrapebars a little higher than factory settings because my asphalt driveway is not all that smooth and I may be abusing the Toro hitting asphalt once in awhile, but so far the machine just shrugged it off.

So is this the perfect machine? Maybe.

I bought this after returning a Snow Joe two stage because it had multiple problems. The Toro is superior in most ways. This snowblower seems like a gas snowblower that has just had an engine-swap. It is an incremental evolutionary step from a gas blower, not a designed-from-scratch machine like it’s competitors, so it has some weird things like mechanical controls of electric engines and an also it is has an idle state! I’m happy with the unit and I’ll be keeping it to clear my corner lot in Minnesota.

I’ll will buy the third battery for it. Good: powerful, turns easily (some competitors have wheels that are locked together), amazing chute control vs all competitors, battery compartment keeps moisture out, external power meter.

Less Good: Assembly instructions did not match Machine in a few significant ways, find a youtube video to help. Also, you probably need a ratchet or ratcheting wrench. The light is always turned on and feels like an afterthought.

But it is bright! The left hand control is pretty tight to hold my hand gets tired and I’m an adult male in reasonable physical condition. I’ve had a bit of trouble getting the skid plates tuned in. They came mis-aligned (which is expected and documented in the instructions) so the machine pulled to the right.

I corrected them, but now it leaves a thin layer of snow on the pavement. I’m a bit concerned that I won’t be able to get it adjusted low enough so it scrapes the concrete, but high enough that it does not bang on ever pavement seam.

Toro should include a calibration wedge to help adjust the skids. It would be a very cheap part, you could even paint it red and put your logo on it. Also, Toro, PLEASE make a power inverter that lets me use the batteries to run 110v or usb stuff.

Now that I own $1000 worth of your batteries, please make ways for me to use them. Snow Joe has a pretty cool inverter, please something similar. I’d like to see a more innovative drive control. I want to be able to switch to reverse without taking my hand off the control.

Take a look at yamaha waverunners; they have great intuitive reverse and neutral controls. Why not be the first do do this? For some reason the two chargers that were sent were slightly different models which is sort of disconcerting.

My TW picked this up for me for Christmas! It’s been bitterly cold here and so had to wait for the right day to test it out. We back into a pond that hasn’t been cleared all season. Here’s my take on the unit so far: 1) assembly was easy and overall I’m impressed with the instruction manual, fit and finish and operating instructions.

Unit was well packaged and completely pristine. 2) feature I couldn’t seem to find on the CT website but it DOES have: electric start! But it starts with a single pull each time too. 3) feature it doesn’t have and you might not have picked up on it, but you can probably figure out how to add one later: light kit.

4) this is a 6hp unit and it chewed through everything I threw at it! The snow was hard on top, smooth heavy pellets and sort of a weird hard pack base layer. And, the kids had ran across it a bunch too so they packed it down as well.

It. Cleared. It. All. I was out for about 2 hours, and as you can see the rink is a decent size. Also cleared a path out to it. Took about a tank of gas. Maybe a little less. I might lower the feet a bit to get a bit closer to the ice, next time.

Looking forward to the next snowfall.

Bought it last Thursday during sale in the store, brought it home in the back of a Honda CV-R. Started on the first pull, nice and smooth. Sat a week in garage until todays snowfall. Chewed through 15cm of rapidly turning wet snow with nary a hesitation.

Threw for 20′ easily. Did 5 driveways and 3 long pathways on about a tank and a half of gas. At the very end of today’s run i snag a hidden rock. Two shear pins broke, just as designed, auger completely undamaged save for a small scratch where the rock hit.

Took 20 seconds to install new pins. All in all VERY satisfied for a harsh first day. A+.

We purchased a Certified last year from Canadian Tire, and it was nothing but trouble from the minute we got it home. It took 45 minutes to warm up. It couldn’t handle heavier snow at all, and blew belts every other time we used it.

Locating belts for it at Canadian Tire alone was a pain in the rump as well. So we purchased this Husqvarna as replacement as the price point was decent for a Husqvarna, and it operates a million times better.

NEVER buy a cheap snow blower. Lesson learned.

I move snow as a company. I had 7 of the older 3650 body style snowblowers. They were great, but broke down often. Come the 721RC circa 2015. Ended up buying three of them. They were awesome. Got rid of all the 3650 style.

I sent an employee to get another 721RC 2019. Came home with what is labeled as a 721RC, but the body, chute, look, functionality is completely different. On a professional level the belt squeals incessantly, the “key” design is stupid, the coat hanger holding the start cord is flimsy and in the wrong spot, the throttle has stuck on high like the 3650’s used to.

Very lacking in sense to completely change a machine and use the same model number. If there’s a buyback program, sign me up. If there’s a buyback program, sign me up. I’ll go find the older style 721RC.

I recently purchased this Toro to replace a competitive machine of similar dimensions. As background, 20 years ago when I bought my house, I received a Toro snowblower as a “homeownership” gift — it lasted about 15 years and I was very grateful.

About 5 years ago, when it was time to replace the Toro, I bought a competitor (rhymes with Hard, ends with man) because it was less expensive than other models on the market including Toro’s. I found the quality of the competition to be lacking — plastic, plastic, plastic.

When I had some concerns about my machine making it through this recent Chicago winter, I took the opportunity to upgrade to this new Toro Power Clear 721 R-C (21″) 212cc 4-Cycle Single-Stage Snow Blower.

I immediately saw and appreciated the quality of the Toro — steel vs. plastic better design. For example, the gas tank doesn’t rattle around. The oil-check isn’t going to snap off (which happened the competition) — The Toro is just a much, much better designed and built machine.

While I’ve only had a couple of occasions to use my new Toro (thank gosh is stopped snowing in Chicago). I’m very satisfied with the Toro’s quality and glad to be back in the Toro family. I almost want it to snow again! I guess for me, yeah, the Toro costs a bit more, but I’ve learned it’s well worth it.

I HAVE 8 SNOW BLOWERS 6 BIG UNITS WITH 6 SPEEDS. AND 2 TORO 721RC. (THE RED DEVILS) MY CREW DOES NOT WANT TO EVER USE THE BIG UNITS ANY MORE. THEY FIGHT AND RUN TO GET TO THE RED DEVILS 721RC TO USE THEM INSTEAD.

THEY ARE LIGHT WEIGHT EASY TO USE /START/MANUVER. MANTAIN THEM AND THEY WILL LAST FOR EVER I HAVE THEM 4 YEARS NOW. CHANGE THE PADS AND SCRAPER AND BELT WHEN NEEDED AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED.
