12 Best 3 Ton Jack Stands (2022 Updated)

I found these to be extremely sturdy, hefty, and made of good quality. For a long while I was using some standard run-of-the-mill jack stands I bought from harbor freight/autozone. I felt like my safety is #1 priority and I wanted something that looks like it will survive a nuclear blast.

1. My old ones are about half the size of these big boys. These stands are thicker, wider and taller than your average stand. They look and feel expensive. 2. I could hardly lift my SUV off them ground with your standard run of the mill stands.

This has been no problem with these new stands. 3. The safety pin gives me assurance and eases my mind that I wont be killed under my car today. Overral if you value you or your familys safety – these are great stands.

I dont see any issues with the welds, and the overall quality like some one star reviews. I have used these already a handful of times with great success.

The pair I got seem very sturdy. The safety pin engages securely. The only down side for me is that they are too high in the lowest position for my 2010 Hyundai Sonata. They will be great for my Pickup but I usually do not have to jack it up.

If you are sure of the height you need then I wouldn’t worry about the quality of these stands.

Have you had someone know how to wrap the merchandise properly? all loose and car stands received lost so much paint and that look as if they are used! Bad experience. Same thing for other products I order.

Really thinking if your company has proper training for the people in shipping department? horrible!.

I was looking for an additional pair of jack stands to help support the car while I was doing some suspension work. My regular stands would hold up the car but I needed more support to hold the rear components on the beam as I removed the struts from either side.

I picked these up because I live in Florida and even a protected garage doesn’t prevent rusting of my tools. Bonus is that these aluminum jack stands are light weight allowing me to use them while under a vehicle (have a bad shoulder and lifting and moving is limited in certain positions).

Overall weight of the pair is nearly the weight of one of my standard 3-ton steel stands. The hardware supplied is high quality with a locknut for the bolt and pins are chained to the stand body so you don’t lose them, all machining is precise and they look good to boot.

I’m confident that these will stand the test of time and I know that if something goes wrong with them, Sunex will be there with their excellent customer service to assist me.

Was a bit concerned that these jack stands may be the same ones that harbor freight was selling as the Daytona Brand after seeing them in person. Harbor Freight recalled those jack stands to my knowledge due to the possibility of the stands not holding up the rated weight.

I just made sure to keep the jack under the frame also just in case. The paws on this set of stands appears to not have much material compared to my old Nesco’s.

Great for working on small equipment where space is limited but height is needed, such as lawn tractors and subcompact tractors. Works well with normal passenger cars as well. The aluminum is thick and is of good quality the pins are well made and fit into the corresponding holes tightly.

It is nice to have a set of jack stands that have a maximum as high as this pair without weighing as much as a pair of steel ones would. Would strongly recommend to any mobile mechanic or any one who works on subcompact and/or lawn and garden tractors.

I needed to upgrade my old 2 ton trolly jack. This is heavy duty 3 ton & therefor more stable and safer for jacking my car up. I bought two!!! Will also use jack stands because when it comes to safety – what price do you put on your life??? Too many home mechanics cut corners and sadly get crushed when working under their car! Im 65 and not got crushed yet.

We have sports vehicles and SUVs in our family and with doing most services on these cars this lift is great,low profile wheels -no problem (no more driving onto small plank etc)to raise car to access lifting points.

no problem with suv as lift is very very strong although always use axle-stands for safety. Highly recommended.

Ideal for most SUV and Trucks. Now, they Only draw back is with cars and Low SUVs with Pinch Weld jack points because the Unijack stands Too High to get under those areas and you must jack from Alternate spots or use another jack to get the vehicle high enough to use the Unijack.

Otherwise, a great overall Jack.

I have an 01 Acura TL and the lift points are too small to fit both a jack and a jackstand. These units work great, I lift the car a few inches from the front or rear point, place the stands under the lift points and use the hydraulic lift built into them to raise the car.

Then I remove the jack I used initially. The locking feature means I can work on the car without worrying about the jack failing. Great product!.

The product seems well made, and should hold up well for occasional or hobby use. The stand portion is easy to operate, and provides a significant margin of safety. Its placement right next to the hydraulic jack makes it easy to find a place on the vehicle where both jack & stand can be placed under a good support point.

The flat base distributes the weight well on somewhat soft or irregular surfaces – I often work on gravel & the dirt floor of a barn. This product avoids the temptation to use just a jack to support a vehicle while I am working on it – it’s easy just to raise the stand, ease the vehicle down onto the support, and start working safely.

I was surprised at how good the airbag hack actually is. Not only does it do the job, it does it with ease.

I bought these thinking they were more than tall enough for my 2019 Highlander but without the jack stand pads I bought (“YTOOS”, from Amazon), they would not have been high enough on their own to get the rear wheels off the ground.

I did not account for the suspension travel causing the wheels to drop down as the car is being lifted. It needs to be jacked-up quite a lot higher than you might think to overcome the suspension travel and get the wheels actually off the ground.

These jack stands were a lot higher quality than I expected given the price. They have a locking pin and flat pieces welded to the legs so they don’t sink on asphalt. Also, the area where the pinch welds of the car sit are flat so you can use it on smaller cars, not just trucks.

Very happy with the purchase.

It’s not bad as a jack and I manage to work my way around it (lifting the wheel rather then the subframe like normal people do), but for this reason I don’t recommend it – get a bigger one, will save you a lot.

Almost impossible to use this one for trucks or any other higher vehicle. Could barely lift a Caravan.

I suspect many won’t look at these because they come from HF and any jack stands scare people away. That would be short-sighted as these are very nice and appear to be quality. They’re a different design and use the center pin.

They’re well made. They’re very light and portable. Unlike the traditional ratcheting jack stands these have a very nice flat base that won’t dig into your floor. It’s plenty wide for stability and they did not wobble – I had no issue using these to rotate my SUV tires.

If you think these can’t be as strong as the A frame ones then you should realize the cylinder design is probably stronger than the ratcheting design. Only shortcoming is the height so be sure and check the lift height you need.

Selected these because they had the lowest height and were available in the store. Others have complained about not having sufficient height. Given a choice, I would take a shorter jack stand because I can usually add height with adequate shoring, but I never been able to remove height.

I plan on using these for midsize or smaller sedans. If I owned a truck I would have opted for the 6 or 12 ton jack stands. When using jack stands I like having a safety factor of at least two.

Liked everything about them. Wish they had a little bit more height though. For a lifted vehicle they are kind of short when lifting by the body. Also wish there was a little bit more of a lip on the tops of the jackstands in case the vehicle slips for some reason.

Overall they are great and I really like them.

Let me start by saying these are super lightweight and can be taken apart and collapsed into an even smaller space. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is that it really should come with the pinch weld protector.

Those pucks make a world of difference and perfectly protect the car. Like no joke, the pucks are cut to fit super tightly onto the top of the jack stand. So much so that it really was made to come with the pinch weld protect that you have to buy separately.

Put together though, its definitely a 5 star product.

Purchased two pairs of these along with the rubber pinch pads to use on my 2019 GLI. Have gotten a chance to use them several times now and they work flawlessly. Light weight and easy to move around.

Plenty of height to work under my car safely. Vehicle feels super stable on four of these as long as you leave one hole open on the height (felt a little too wiggly fully extended when using 4 of these, okay fully extended on 2).

So far I’m happy with purchasing these. They are lightweight and sturdy. The finish on them is really good quality as well. I’ve only used traditional jack stands so moving to these helps with placing it around the floor jack.

The only downside, which isn’t really a bad thing as they add to safety, is the adjustment aspect. You have to pull the pin out in order to raise them up and down which does require both hands. Like I said not really a bad thing when it actually comes down to the safety aspect compared to traditional jack stands that use the teeth to keep them in place, just a different learning curve.

I just don’t trust some of the cheaper items on the market. Consider the potential cost of a failure. I use these on my 5500 pound tractor, and I don’t sense “danger. ” I still exercise the normal precautions.

level surface, etc. , but these things inspire a level of trust. If you’re going to use cheap tools, consider the cost of failure. A ratchet or air gun that fails doesn’t damage anything. if a jack stand fails, there’s damage potentially to hubs, floors, and even limbs and appendages.

Yeah I mispronounced Hein-Werner. The base is Large about 12 x 10 inches and its tall about 16 inches. I have yet to use them but I wanted to get something that felt strong and well made. The welds around the neck are continuous.

The two halves of the base have a seam weld from the inside from the arrow arch between the halves apex to the neck line, solid continuous. The feet have small plates welded to the corners its kinda thick doesn’t feel like it would break off if forced.

The corners are bent but more like a pipe not like a metal box. continuous. In the video you should see how thick the metal plating of the neck and the base are. I’ve put it through no structural test, but they just feel substantial, like they could take a lot force.

The paint is heavy duty its got to be enamel, it won’t rub off. could probably take a lot of scraping. maybe a chisel to chip it off. It has a shiney glaze look to the surface. If it help any for scale I wear a size 8.

I don’t think I did a good job conveying the scale of how big these are. In all of the pictures online they look kinda small. These start at 16 inches tall, so you probably only want to use them with a truck or where you need a lot of clearance.

No way they would fit in a toolbox.

Love the jack, as it easily lifts my sedan with hardly any effort required. Doesn’t come with the oil for it or whatever it’s called. But I haven’t needed it yet, I just make sure to always release the air out of it before I use it.

My only gripe with the product is that I don’t believe this is 45 pounds. I have plenty of things and a 50 pound weight, this jack feels heavier than all of them. Probably more like 70-100 pounds. The poor guy delivering it was kinda struggling haha.

I’ve read the other reviews and can sympathize. But my jack and experiences were much better. I bought AutoZone’s Duralast 3 ton “garage” (floor) jack 7 – 10 years ago and used it occasionally (6 – 12 times per year) to lift medium-sized vehicles like our family van and commute car.

During that time, it required hydraulic fluid top-off twice when lift height per pump tapered. The second time I added fluid, while hurrying to fit a two hour project into 1/2 hour, I managed to open and add fluid to the wrong port.

This is humiliating to admit since the check-valve screw I removed to do this was clearly marked with a special red cap with the warning “Do Not Adjust”. This, predictably, shot the mechanisms that block the coordination of hydro flows until it could be opened and repaired.

I wasn’t able to find a manual or diagram online to work from, so called our local AutoZone to request one, and admitted my ignorant move to the store manager in the process. To my surprise, and on what I know to be one of their busiest times of the week there, I was told to bring it by to “swap it out for a new one”.

I reminded him that I had no receipt, had used it for several years, and had ruined it through pure impatience, stupidity, and 50 year old eyes w/out reading glasses, but he insisted that I come get a new one.

This jack had cost a shade over $100 years ago, but it supported my work sufficiently and I’m flat amazed that they backed this product to the extent they did. I haven’t always been thrilled w/ AutoZone (insufficient understanding of auto concepts among service reps at times), but the purchase of this house-brand floor jack has served me very well.

* One star deducted for having to add hydraulic fluid. If you get one, don’t worry. The correct top-off location is a no-brainer, I’m sorry to say *.

This is working great for my side by side maintenance, the extension allows me to get the RZR up without any blocks to where the suspension is fully extended and the tires are a few inches off the ground.

The handle storage is a little substandard by only having the single ring that you can see in the picture and no place for the other end but I am happy with the jack function and operation.

I think it’s a overall good product, BUT I had one of the rubber caps missing. I called JB TOOLS several times and left several voicemails but to no avail. I also filled out the message form for my complaint but likewise to no avail.

Also one of the holes was not big enough for the pin to go through both sides, but no worries, a simple fix. But I would like to have my eighth cap for the stand being that I have spent a lot of CASH with this company or at least have someone get back in touch with me.

Really a perfect design. Large, stable bases. Many vertical positions. Tight fitting pin with lock ring. Wide top platform with beefy rubber pad. Build quality is outstanding.

Very sturdy and well made. It would have gained a 5 star, but I held back on 2 issues. 1. Even at the lowest pin setting, the jack stand are pretty high. It requires a high elevation from your jack to place it on these stands.

2. It is strong and well made. However, for the price (expensive) it should have come with 4 legs for more stability than the current 3 legs. If you looks at all the current heavy duty stands, they designed it with 4 legs instead of 3.
