Component speakers are a type of car audio speaker that includes multiple parts, or components, that work together to produce sound. The three main components of a component speaker system are the tweeter, the mid-range speaker, and the woofer.
The tweeter is responsible for reproducing high-frequency sounds, the mid-range speaker reproduces mid-frequency sounds, and the woofer reproduces low-frequency sounds.

Upgrade your vehicle’s factory sound system and create an audio experience unlike any other with the CS Series 6. 50 In 2 Way Component Speakers from KICKER.
The sound quality was good for the price. The base was good and the tweeter highs were excellent. Definitely a very good upgrade to the original factory speakers, in my 2007 Pajero. The 6. 5 inch speaker was a little smaller that the factory, so I had to drill new holes in the door frame, which was not too difficult.
The rear magnet was small enough to fit without interference with the window. Fits a Pajero anyway. I did not install the crossover, and used the factory installed one for a quicker job, but still good sound.
The tweeter may be getting a bit too much power, so I lowered the treble setting, and did the trick. This was the first speakers I have installed in a car, so I am a novice, but still successful.
Installation was very easy. Invested in a plastic trim tool kit from Amazon and every door panel popped off very effortlessly. I purchased Metra speaker adapters and wiring harnesses so install time was as quick as screwing speakers in to new adaptors and back onto doors.
Sound was improved. I now have installed a 5 channel JL amplifier for the door speakers and a 13 inch thin JL sub while keeping my dash center and pillar tweeters on factory amp. The sound is incredible.
The kickers see 75 watts each and really play loud and crisp. My output to aftermarket amp is from a pac audio ampro. I’m able to retain all chimes and sync3 sounds through speakers and still have full range inputs to amp.
With use of their wiring harness I was able to install a full system and not cut one factory wire in my pick up.
Great speakers for the price. I don’t understand how people can say they don’t make a difference. It was a night and day difference with the clear and crisp sound from my stock speakers. When paired with the sub and speaker amp combo,, this truck sounds great now!! The only down side i found was there wasn’t a good way to mount the rear door speakers.
I destroyed my stock rear speakers to make a mounting bracket that worked great. If you got a dremel and and about 20 extra minutes, this was the ticket. See pictures. Anyways, I recommend these speakers.
Pyle’s Blue Label series speakers don’t just sound great – they look great, too. Feast your eyes upon the azure curves of Pyle’s Blue Label series and you’ll agree. They’re great replacements for your vehicle’s factory speakers – you’ll hear the difference immediately.
The non-fatiguing butyl rubber surround keeps your speakers secure as well as extending the life of the product. A 1′ high-temperature ASV voice coil provides the richest sound, ensuring low distortion and providing an open sound stage.
Pyle pro speakers are some of the best values out there. Years ago I had some Polk Audio in the dash of my truck that sounded good, but they blew up in a couple of years. I replaced them with Pyle Pro.
Sounded better. Cost 1/4 the price. Lasted for over 10 years. In fact theyre in my truck today. You cant beat them for the scratch.
Good clear sound from my factory head unit, even at full volume. However, when I used the equalizer in my phone to adjust the sound frequencies some volume was lost. But I haven’t installed the amp yet.
Hopefully the new 400 watt amp will help provide the optimal sound I’d like. I’m old so I don’t need to shatter my windows or create earthquakes. So I feel positive at this point.
Parts Express has these at a really good deal. You can’t beat this as a cheap priced speaker pair. The quality of the speakers are very good despite they are made in China, but for the price they sound as expected.
I purchased these as all local stores in town wanted way to much money for these speakers. These speakers have a low profile which will fit in tight places like car doors. My depth clearance is a little tight in the rear doors and figured for the price I’d try them.
They state in their specs they cover a wide frequency range which what I was looking for. But despite the max handling wattage of these speakers they top out very quick and make the low frequencies very distorted.
The highs can play all day but the lows and mid range are terrible for my liking. Perhaps it’s also the volume of space in my door adding to this low end mid distortion. These are powered by a 50 watt RMS.
05% THD amp and wasn’t pleased that I needed to drop down my lower EQ frequencies to not get the over driven cone sound from these speakers. These speakers again for the price aren’t terrible, just not what I am looking for.
Anything else for me at the 6 1/2″ speaker size is going to require cutting the sheet metal on the door to get to fit. As the my paper cone stock speakers are finished. So I bit the bullet and installed some Dayton Audio aluminum cone 7″ speakers to replace these.
Their deeper and require some skill with the whiz wheel to cut the door. I was hoping not to do this by trying out the Pyle’s. They didn’t work, but not bad to try for the price. They now will be used for some desk top speakers for the PC.

A lot of potential for excellent sound and performance. First, the simple crossover consists of only 2 filter capacitors. The woofer if getting full frequency. The mid range is actually a mid-tweeter, and has too much output compared to the other drivers.
And, there is no sound absorbing stuffing in the box. However if you are handy, with a few simple mods you will end up with a respectable sounding speaker. First, you can add a 1mh inductor coil in series with the woofer + wire to help reduce upper frequencies to woofer.
Be sure to securely glue it down. Next, add a 10ohm 10 watt resistor in series with the + wire to the mid-range driver to tone it down a little. Then you can cut a 2 hole in back and add a 2 X 5 port tube the help bring out the lows.
Finally, add some acoustic stuffing in the box, covering the back and sides loosely. The end result will be a deeper and more powerful bass, a tad mellower in upper mid’s. The entire procedure took me about 3 hours.

Give your vehicle’s stereo system a boost with the Pyle 6. 5 inch Speakers and other components in this custom gear kit. There are two mid bass speakers for deep and resonant lows as well as a pair of dome tweeters for clear highs.
Connect the equipment using the two passive crossover devices. The car speakers and tweeters feature yellow poly injection cones as well as aluminum voice coils and 40 oz magnets for high quality sound production.
They can be mounted flush, on the surface or at an angle, whichever is the best fit for your car. This kit also comes with wiring, diagram template and mounting hardware for an easier installation.
These speakers sound awesome if used with another typical set of speakers as they do a great job on the bass and the highs but need some backup to fill in the mids. The crossovers seem to cut out some key frequencies that I didn’t even notice until I played Enter Sandman from Metallica.
The speakers did quite well cranking out the powerful bass riff and the symbols but once the guitar riff started, I could hardy hear it. As far as some saying these speakers lack bass, that’s only true if your accustomed to trunk rattling lows that aren’t naturally produced by any musical instrument anyways or if you enjoy listening to explosions, but they do a very good job for musically natural bass.
As far as the lacking mids, I guess that’s one of the drawbacks of a two way crossover setup designed to send the lows to the woofer and the highs to the tweeter because it leaves nowhere for the mid frequencies to go.
Now before you go and buy these know this: these are budget speakers. Now with that said, they are quite amazing. I bought these simply for an upgrade, and with the crossovers they blow my stock speakers out of the water.
The only complaint I have is that they were much larger than expected, and I had to “customize” them a bit to make them fit in my door. Now about the sound itself: excellent. The bass hits pretty hard (although the extremely low frequencies don’t come through, and I’d say they really don’t go down to 50 hz) and the tweeter’s highs are very crisp and clear.
Overall I’m exremely happy with them. If they had more bass I’d definitely buy a second pair to put in my back window, but I guess I’ll have to invest in some subs instead. Another thing: the yellow is AWESOME, and I love how they look in general.
I bought a set of these because my stock speakers sounded like mud. I am driving them with a 4 channel, 400 watt amp. The sound shocked me. The clarity is excellent. My music has taken on a 3D sound.
Almost like the music is floating. I have been listening to the same CD for years, and after instalation of this set, I heared things I had never heared before. I am very impressed. I will be buying another set for my car, and then 2 more sets for my other car.
The MPK 165. 3 car audio speaker system has been designed to ensure a great low frequency response, even in cars with no space for a subwoofer. Thanks to V-cone and Boundary Free Surround technologies, the MP 165.
3 woofer boast outstanding dispersion and generates high SPL with compact dimensions. The dedicated crossover found in the MPCX 2. 3 has been designed to exploit the wide extension of the MP 165. 3 woofers, ensuring a natural transition towards the MP 25.
3 tweeter, giving maximum natural acoustic emission. The 1 millimeter low parasitic resistance copper filter coil of the woofer maximizes its efficiency. The MPCX 2. 3 crossover features tweeter level controls of 0 dB or positive 2 dB to calibrate the MP 25.
What can I say. These Hertz speakers are the real deal. I have only had them installed for a few weeks. Did Daytona week (with a trip down to Key West to kick things off). Loved listening to them the entire time – with no listener fatigue.
I am not a fan of horns, so the silk dome tweeters that are part of this set really made the difference. Although I think it’s crazy how loud some people want to play their systems (more concerned about volume levels than quality of sound), these babies won’t disappoint on either front.
They will play loud enough (yet with crystal clarity) to meet anyone’s expectations. Keep in mind, you are listening on a bike, not in an audio room with acoustic treatments, so one needs to understand how the environment will impact sound – especially with no reflections.
That said, I could not be happier with my choice. Huge props to the guys at American Hard Bag. They are extremely well-versed in the products they carry and are tremendously helpful. They never once attempted to upsell me – and in fact told me to take things in stages.
They listened to me about my preferences and made a spot on recommendation for my audio system.
Awesome prices and great customer service, Tim helped me with any questions , always replied or called Bac, the Hertz MPKs 165 speakers with built in tweeters in grill, Rockford fosgate amp, with install kit, sounds outstanding!! Being a member got a free rear wire for bag lids , and they have military discount ! Outstanding Commpany ! Second time I’ve bought a system from them, thanks again AmericanHardbag !!! You have my business!!.
Hands down the best customer service “ thanks Tim”, product fit and finish is excellent. Finally got my sound system the way I wanted it to sound. A big thank you to all the staff at American Hard Bag.
Get in gear with the Pyle Gear series! These speakers are designed to provide the best quality sound for the budget-minded enthusiast. These 4 x 10, three-way speakers have 300 watts of pure power, supported by a 0.
5 neodymium dome tweeter for sweet highs, a 2 polymer cone for mids, and a high temperature voice coil to round out the low end. The non-fatiguing butyl rubber surround and yellow-color poly-injected cone provide a sturdy foundation for keeping your sound crystal clear and distortion-free.
The 45 oz. magnet structure allows these speakers to achieve a frequency response of 60 Hz to 22 kHz. To boost performance, these speakers have been equipped with a strong capacitor, meaning your speakers will never struggle for power.
These speakers look cool, too, thanks to the yellow coated steel basket. Includes custom grills, wires, and installation hardware. Youll hear everything you were meant to hear with Pyle Gear.
I replaced the 30 year old speakers in my Fiero with these. Very pleasently surprised with the overall sound. Bass extends to almost 60 Hz and the treble is clean if a bit high. Mids and vioces are very good.
Finished in Ugly yellow which could be visible through the grille. Be careful about the height. The tweeters sit high above the frame and you must either use the Pyle covers, modify your covers to fit over them or mount the speakers below the deck.
I’m driving them with a Sony AX1000 that has 20 Watts per channel. Plenty of power to drive this speaker. For the money it gives very nice results.
Replaced the warped out rear speakers in my 97 Yukon with a pair of these. For the price I wasn’t expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised. They sound much better than I ever remember the OEMs sounding, decent bass, reasonably clear and sharp.
They fit right into the OEM spot perfectly, using the original screws. The OEM connector is this big blocky thing that won’t fit them. There may be a adapter kit, but I just disassembled the connectors and took out the metal clips, slipped a piece of thick shrink tube over them, slipped them onto the connector posts, tested the polarity, then shrank the tube.
Ended up with a reasonably sturdy connector. So a little bit of work, but no big deal if you’re handy. Great value for my purposes.
WEll I love that it complimented my homemade speaker box very well. First the cons: The speaker screens included made them look nicer aswell too bad they don’t snap on they just kinda fit into the well surrounding the speaker and vibrate with the woofer ( it might be setup as they have a sub right smack in the middle of them).
Also they kinda get distorted if you turn up your stereo to the max. I have an older pioneer stereo btw(can’t recall the model number) Now the pros: the highs are crisp and delightful to the ear not too piercing or distorted.
They look very well built and I loved the color. Nice sized magnets I might add. Overall a very good speaker with much potential just don’t go off rushing into a competition or you’ll be blown away. Plus they aren’t meant for comps or they’d be more expensive.
The dream speaker perfect sound. Discreet style. Premium construction. These are the standards that define Focal – and the reasons why listening to Focal speakers is an absolute pleasure. The access line offers a marriage of performance and affordability, allowing you to experience the best in sound with a guilt-free conscience.
The whole package take Focal sound to the next level with this access Series 165AS3 component system, which includes two 6-1/2″ Woofers, two 3? midrange drivers, two TN43 tweeters, and two external crossovers.
The 3-way system offers a more robust sound by designating bass to the woofers and midrange frequencies to the 3″ Drivers. Coupled with a butyl rubber surround, the all-weather durability of the woven fiberglass cones ensures performance even in the hottest, most humid environments without distortion or warping.
Beyond tweeter dome unlike a traditional raised dome tweeter, the aluminum inverted dome shape of the TN43 tweeter evenly disperses high frequencies, creating a very wide soundstage with fine resolution and exciting dynamics.
Enhance stereo imaging by installing these tweeters exactly where you need them with included flush-mount hardware. Custom crossover this systems external crossovers ensure a seamless distribution of frequencies to the woofer and tweeter, for a totally natural sound.
A 3-position tweeter level adjustment allows you to customize your High frequencies and get them just the way you like them. Installation note: youll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.
well i already blew a mid the 3 inch didnt even last a month. besides that the 3 way overall is way to bright and harsh. plastic motors for all the speakers so are they load do they get the job done yes and no i turn it up until they start to distort and i want to turn it up louder but cant.
For the price though they are worth it because of such hi costs with everything else thats out there. but then again i now have a blown mid so go figure.
Had infinity before these and thought these would be better hence being made in France and hence the price being more. Total rubbish. Has more vibration then when I had my infinity. Definitely will be getting rid of them and going back to infinity.

Purchased the Meso 3 way speakers for my 2008 Lexus is250. I have them powered by an Audison lrx 6. 9 amplifier and I must say. These speakers really surprised me! They produce great mid bass and provide an overall well balanced sound! I was planning on running focal k2 power components originally but after finding these at a 200 dollar price point I had to give these a shot.
Shipping did take a awhile. about 2 months to be exact. but it was worth the wait! CT sounds is definitely stepping it up and competing with some of the bigger companies in car audio. The build quality of these speakers is very good and they definitely perform! You will need to break them in.
but once you do they sound great! You definitely get the best bang for your buck with these speakers hands down!.
I purchased a set of Meso 3-Way Components and when I recieved them there was an issue with the 3″ mids. I contacted Customer support and they told me exactly what I needed to do to return the product with the issue.
I did everything and sent the item back. I was asked if I wanted a refund or new item. I chose new item. So skip ahead a few days and I get another set. And again the 3″ had the same issue and then one of the 6.
5″ had an issue. So I contacted them again. I told them about the same issue and then they offered me $70 store credit and keep the ones with the issue. I declined because I wanted the item but in proper condition.
So I sent them back again. Finally I recieved a set that were in good condition. I mean the baskets were a bit scratched up but that doesn’t affect the performance of them so I wasnt too worried. The set itself is very nice and well put together.
The crossovers look great amd high quality. The speakers look nice. And the customer service was good and took care of the issues without hesitation. Also purchased some Strato 8s. And them things are nice a beefy.
The Skar Audio SPX-65C 2-way 6. 5″ component speaker system is our highest performance offering in the category, with unmatched sound quality and breathtaking power output. Rated at 400 watts max power, sold as a pair.
Great components considering the price, power handling and sq. I upgraded to these from Focal K2’s and didn’t expect to be this satisfied- But I am! Excellent power handling. Balanced sound staging with warm midrange.
Crossovers also allow control of the brightness of the tweeter. They are no Focal’s but you can’t beat the sq for this price. You will be satisfied all things considered.
The Access 165 AS car audio 2-way component kit is of sufficiently high sensitivity to be directly connected to a car stereo. It has 3-position tweeter adjustment for optimal listening comfort.
I replaced some pioneer components with these and wow they sound great. They are super clear and have a great soundstage. I am running subwoofer with them also. Very well built and goes with my 80prs audiophile head unit very well.
I have them running on a kenwood m3004 amp at 50 watts rms each. These are the real deal too because ABT is an authorized Focal dealer and i called Focal to verify that they are real. Just really love how clean and clear they sound on my system.
I installed these in my 2011 GMC Terrain SLT-2. I replaced the Pioneer Premium System with the 165AS Components, and coaxials. Everything is still running off of the OEM radio, but my goodness these sound great.
The clarity on these are phenomonal for not being powered by an amplifier. Can’t wait to install one, and hear these really play out to their full potential. I highly recommend these.
I really cannot tell a ton of difference with these. Also, went in physically 2 days prior, and was guaranteed a 10 am spot. I am from out of town and had an afternoon planned with my family. I went in that morning, and someone had just walked in, and was in line in front of me, she got my spot, the technician was assigned to her right in front of me.
We sat and waited at my brothers house until 6PM, we called, and they said it should be done before closing,. When we got there, they were still piecing it together, while shutting down shop. They told me there was nothing intelligent they could say to make it better.
That was it. Since then, my car died in a parking lot, because they did not tighten the stinger cable to my battery, left it loose and it killed my car. I had to wait for help to get my car going again.
Also, about 2 times a week, when I start my car, there is a crackling noise, and only the woofer works. I have to restart my car several times before the system works again. I sent a request in via their contact form, and no response.
Terrible experience. I will next be going to Yelp, Google, etc.
The Edge Series 6-1/2-inch 500-Watt 2 Way Component System is the next step in performance and value, continuing down the Power Acoustik road of reliability and longevity. The striking good looks of these components bring a high-end appeal to traditional performance.
The system includes passive crossover and grilles.
Man I have been looking around for a speaker upgrade for my F-150 and a friend invited me over to listen to these and when I heard these they sounded serious. I thought these were a big name and then he told me what they cost and I did not believe him.
He was putting 100w RMS through them very good crisp strong bass clean not over powering the mids very clear not at all muddy the highs are good could be better 4 out of 5. If you want a good upgrade speaker and you prefer sound over name buy these.
Speakers got to my house the day they were expected! Easy to connect and fit great! Considering I had no working speakers in my car this is a huge difference! Absolutely love it for the price!

I am a full time sound man and have used the QSC KW153 every weekend for about 8 months. I use them mostly for large weddings and some smallish outdoor shows. I run them (2 of them – 1 each side, of course) with 2 Carvin powered 2×18 (2,500 watts each).
They are very good for up to about 250 people. I run them in external sub mode so they are getting nothing below 125hz. I have used them a few times without the subs and the low end is ok. I can run a full band in a small club (about 100 people) and still get some decent kick drum thump.
I have not used them for DJing, but the 152s have enough boom for small weddings so I imagine these would also. The sound is pretty good, but the throw is fairly narrow. Most of what I do is try to get the sound great on the dance floor and these do a good job.
Now of course everyone in the house can hear them, but the vocals are best within the 70 degree output pattern. If I have to cover a wide area I will use 2 per side because the throw is narrow. They have the same amp as all the QSC KW and K series, but with the added mid driver I think they are a bit clearer than the KW152.
I have used KW152s for years, but always pole mount them to get the horn above the audience’s heads. With my Carvin 2x18s I can just ground stank the KW153 and it’s tall enough to not need a pole. This is way better because eventually all the poles tilt and look bad.
If you buy this then do yourself a favor and get the protective bag. It’s expensive (like around $80), but it is worth every penny. Even with the bag my KW153s get banged around pretty good. If I didn’t have the bag they would chip every time I crammed them in my van.
They are not light, but I can get them up on a speaker by myself. You want a hand truck to move them in for load in as they are too heavy to carry for long distances. I do recommend them and will continue to use them until I can afford a proper line-array.
Super powered speaker. I have been doing my research and have bought and returned the ZLX from Ev and got these. I returned these as well and got the k12s. Here’s why. These are superior to many powered speakers but at low volumes they aren’t as good as a smaller speaker.
The angle is 60 degrees so more limited in the amount of spread as opposed to the k12s at 75 degrees. I found at low volumes they didn’t sound that great and I had to boost the treble on my system to get the acoustic and vocals clear.
At high volumes they can’t be beat but the 60 degree spread was still tough in small rooms. Off to the side it sounds a lot different than right in front of course but the difference was huge. Outside they can’t be beat.
Beautiful sound and power to spare. They don’t peak it seems like many powered speakers. I returned them as I was lifting them on a pole 3 nights a week, and even though they are listed at 64 pounds they seemed heavier.
The handle is high on the side and stretching to get them on a pole was difficult. They are the biggest 15″ cabinet in terms of height I have ever seen, the horn is huge perhaps thats why the cabinet is so tall.
The k12 is still heavy but easier to lift due to the size and decreased weight. I found that the k12 has better clarity at low volumes and goes almost as loud when cranked, and gets almost as much bass response also.
For the extra size and weight I found them to be almost the same exact performance as the k12. The bass response was not dramatically different. They are too heavy for me and probably better suited to large bands and mounted/flying situations.
I recently purchased these speakers and they are amazing! I’m a mobile DJ, so powered speakers are perfect for me. The ease of set up and not having to do to much fine tweaking, makes my life that much easier! They sound amazing, and and when paired with the subs, it’s unmatched!.

All I use now is Rockville, trying to get a sponsorship with them. I have everything Rockville. I will compete this year. I recently bought the 12″ subwoofer with 2000rms. By far amazing, I replaced this one 12 ” sub for my 2 SKAR 18″ SUBS.
It hits way way better, I’m gonna get 3 more of the 12s. My boy has a 12″ sundown with 2000rms he paid 1000. 00 for. He is mad because I paid a quarter of that and sounds way better. I have I have now 10 Rockville speakers, 2 Rockville amps, 1 Rockville equalizer.
My car sounds amazing. Thanks guys I cant wait to get my 3 other 12″ subs already building my custom box for all 4-12s I’m gonna blow away the competition this year if we can get past this pandemic. So Rockville when I place in the top 3 of my class in the bass festival, I am gonna want some help from you guys with some sponsorship.
I’m a hard working 30yr electrician, so let’s see what it will take for you guys to lend a hand. I really want 2-15s and 4-12s in my car. Need way more power then what I have so let’s see if I can get a few subs and some larger amps.
I will send you guys some pictures and a few trophies. Let’s get this done.
Great speakers. I have a set on my pick up truck. They sound awesome. They take alot off power, so i upgraded my alternator. Now they sound even better!! Im getting another set soon. I have had them for almost 2 years already and the paper cone is worn in just abit, but they are still going strong.
The quality of these drivers is quite good especially considering the price. Sound quality is crisp clean and detailed and very natural. I chose the – 6 db output for the tweeter as it to much more efficient than the woofer.
Overall I’m very happy with my new speakers and plan to buy another set soon.
Year after year, car after car, options like this Reference Series REF-6530cx 6-1/2″ component speaker system remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.
Edge-driven dome tweeters With this component system, you’ll gain exceptional clarity and imaging, thanks to separate 3/4″ edge-driven textile dome tweeters that subdue any harshness in the high-frequency range.
Infinity includes external crossovers that give you push-button tweeter attenuation for a “brightness” quick fix. Bigger woofers The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you’ll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive.
Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker’s impressive performance. Bring on the power You can power these speakers with up to 90 watts of RMS power – they’ll work well with an external amplifier, but they’re also a good match for a factory radio or aftermarket stereo.
Plus, these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your vehicle so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance, so you get a little more volume out of your system.
Tweeter fell out of mount and was laying on the floor board while I was on vacation. Now I have to return to the store in Plano, TX to have it repaired. Speakers were installed about two weeks ago. The Infinity speakers are great, but the install had issues.
I upgraded from my $60 Kicker two way speakers. They have great sound and paired great with my amplifier. They bring in the tones I was missing and add crisp highs!
Get more power per square inch with the XS-FB1630 3-way coaxial speakers. Experience tight, responsive bass through the MRC cone woofer and clear, dynamic sound at louder volumes with High Power Handling.
Connect to a matching head unit for thumping Mega Bass capabilities. Connect directly to Sony’ s perfect matching head unit with Mega Bass circuitry. Your system will sound like nothing else with deep roaring bass.
I was nervous buying such affordable speakers, but I read a lot of reviews, and they were right. One audio place wouldn’t even install speakers this cheap, so my friend helped me swap them out quick.
These speakers have fantastic sound! I couldn’t be happier!.
What a value. My thing with Sony is they always give at least a good value for what you buy and sometimes you can get the best like their TVs which are amazing these days. I also have a PS4 which I love of course.
Oddly enough, I was still hesitant with car audio. I looked at the Pioneer and Kenwood options, but then I ended up with these when I did the comparison. They are currently powered just off a JVC stereo and scream.
I was thinking about getting a small little amp, but I think the stereo is just fine.
Pioneer TS-A1680F Description Pioneer’s next generation of TS-A series speakers offer Carbon & Mica reinforced IMPP cone. This combined with a new magnetic circuit and long symmetrical voice coil make both rich deep bass and low distortion possible.
Newly designed speaker adapters offer a wide range of installation options and help to ensure a well-controlled sound. A design change has been applied to the Pioneer TS-A1680F which also removes the lead wire connection from the speaker face, giving a new clean look and reduces the risk of shorts and signal noise.
Features IMPP Cone Construction – Carbon & Mica reinforced IMPP cone for deeper and richer bass response. Pioneer’s Sound Concept “Open & Smooth”? – The Pioneer “Open & Smooth”? sound concept delivers open staging and smooth transition of driver response to provide the ultimate in-car sound.
Great sound running off a a Premiere amp. I have never seen included installation spacers. I started modifying the stock speaker spacers to fit these larger speakers and not interfere with window operation.
Then I noticed there were spacers included. Made for a perfect fit in an accord coup.
These are good quality speakers and superb value. The Sonic price was cheaper than the online competition by many Dollars. The delivery time was also exceptional.
The Kicker 43DSC69304 6×9 inch 3-way car audio speakers features a MAX power of 360 watts and an RMS power of 70 watts. A drop-in coaxial upgrade with the flexibility to fit nearly any vehicles doors for a vast improvement over factory sound.
Also, the thin-profile woofers avoid obstructing car-window mechanisms and the 13mm polyethylene-naphthalate domed tweeters have zero-to-minimal tweeter protrusion. The high-sensitivity motor structures of the woofers are made to deliver increased volume output despite lower-powered, factory head units, but they also handle the high power from add-on amps.
The midrange woofer’s stiff, polypropylene cones and acoustic-foam surrounds provide optimal performance for the Kicker DSC69304. = 2 speakers.
So I purchased these speakers to replace my factory speakers in my toyota camry. The sound is excellent with these speakers just running on the factory head unit. In year 5 of these speakers, I noticed that 2 out of the 4 speakers now have a cracking noise when on low.
I read reviews on other sites concerning these speakers and it sounds like a common problem. Other than that, you won’t be disappointed.
I put them into an antique radio case and I’m driving them with a class D amp that sounds amazing with an old pair of Alpine’s thought these would be at least as good given that they’re newer tech but they sound hollow in comparison.
Using Spotify’s equalizer they sound passable – will try a different amp at some point.
With the Evolution C3 Convertible Component Systems, the same product can be deployed in either configuration, delivering outstanding audio power and quality in each application. The C3-650 system features 6.
5-inch (165 mm) component woofers with oversized 1. 2-inch (30. 5 mm) voice coils, mineral-filled polypropylene cones and injection-molded polymer baskets. The woofer design benefits from JL Audio’s vast woofer design experience and advanced modeling systems.
The C3 tweeters are built with 1-inch silk dome diaphragms that deliver powerful, extended response, on and off axis. Flush-mounting and surface-mounting fixtures are included to fit a wide variety of installation needs.
They can also be mounted onto the woofers in a coaxial format using the included fixtures. C3 crossover networks are compact and built with premium component parts, including Mylar capacitors and segmented air-core inductors.
Four levels of tweeter attenuation are provided, as well as three levels of mid-range presence adjustment, for twelve possible voicing combinations! Woofer grilles are included, each consisting of a black grille tray and a black steel mesh grille with an electroformed JL Audio logo.
Sonic character: Clean and Powerful Sold as a pair.
I used a pair of these to replace the original premium factory speakers in my MK2 Ford Focus ST-2 with the Sony head unit. They are in the factory locations but with sound deadening/acoustic foam applied to the doors and door cards, plastic speaker mounting rings, rear diffusers and Vibe speaker baffles used to produce as good an install as possible.
I mounted the tweeters in the original factory sail panel location – they fit behind the grille with a little modification to the panel. They work well with the Sony head unit which provides more than ample power – they are sensitive speakers and 4 ohm rated like the originals.
Clarity and punch are significantly improved over the OE Sony speakers. Music has more depth and sound-staging is better too. Bass appears slightly less present than before but I think this is because of the enhanced clarity rather than a reduction in low frequency output.
Both treble and upper mids are smoother and less aggressive than previously. I tend to run bass and treble at 0/0 but use the head units DSP set to optimise right with just myself in the car or optimise all when I have passengers.
I dont feel that I need any other form of sound adjustment to get good results from the system.
Did not fit very well into factory boxes, required a lot of grinding and creativity. Mounting the crossover box in a dry but accessible location also took considerable creativity. Speakers sound better than my base speakers (I drove around for a week with only rears installed) but not sure if worth $1200 for set, especially considering they are made in China.
(to be fair I do not yet have them properly amplified or paired with a subwoofer, I am using a 55wRMSx4 head unit. ).
Made purchase to upgrade stock speakers in son’s 2002 BMW E46 with non-Harmeon Kardon audio arrangement. Although the installation is ongoing, my initial sound evaluation is nothing short of pure audio joy, The accuracy and efficiency of the speakers are remarkable.
The combined clarity and richness of the soundstage makes one forget that they are indeed in a car. Of course, it makes a difference that the new component arrangement includes an Audison SPX5 amp, LC8i Audio Control, a pair JL Audio C5-075CT tweeters, JL Audio C3-600s in the front door and rear deck, and a JL Audio 12W3V3-4 sub in a Sound Ordnance non-vented enclosure.
Although some minor modifications are required to fit the speakers in the door location, I accept the compromise to harness the sound quality of the C3-600s. Hands down a superb product. Assigned four stars only because of the added fitment work.
These speakers are otherwise a “”Five Star”” product. Install issue does not affect my appraisal of this top-notch product. The head room/space in the BMW E46 front door location is very limited.
There are many different types of 3 way component speakers, but they all have one goal in common: to produce clear, accurate sound. Most 3 way component speakers have a tweeter, a mid-range speaker, and a woofer.
The tweeter is responsible for reproducing high frequencies, the mid-range speaker handles middle frequencies, and the woofer reproduces low frequencies.
3 way component speakers are often used in car audio systems, because they offer a significant upgrade over traditional 2 way speakers. In a 3 way system, each speaker is responsible for a specific range of frequencies, which allows for a more accurate reproduction of sound.
Additionally, 3 way component speakers often have a higher power handling capacity than 2 way speakers, meaning they can play louder without distortion.
If you’re looking for an upgrade to your car’s audio system, 3 way component speakers are a great option. They offer clear, accurate sound reproduction and can handle more power than 2 way speakers. When shopping for 3 way component speakers, be sure to pay attention to the size of the tweeter, the size of the mid-range speaker, and the size of the woofer.
Choosing the right size speakers for your car will ensure that you get the best possible sound quality.
