20 Best 30 Minute Tv Shows (2022 Updated)

A great series is only great if the writing is superb and in 30 rock it certainly is. Tina Fey is brilliant.

Funny show. MUST HAVE now that they are trying to edit out certain episodes on streaming services. I don’t believe in censorship. Leave it alone.

Great price for the full series, but the absolute worst TV Series product packaging I’ve ever encountered.

A window into the past. Science fiction before computer generated effects. Some good stories on the early television series where it was the tale that mattered, not how it looked. And the serials were entertaining too, especially Rocky Jones Space Ranger.

Worth the money.

Lots of good OLD stuff. There is also a bunch of filler though. The serials and Captain Z-ro are especially entertaining.

This is one of the best shows out there. It is insanely therapeutic and so easy to binge watch. I believe my favourite series/season is the sixth one, so fluffy and cozy. How Jean and Lionel reunite, the little uncertainties are outweighed by the big certainties.

This is one of those shows where almost every line rings with humour so repeating it is a must since one can’t remember it all. The linking patterns of life ring true to a sense of reality. Alistair rather grows on you, Judith and Sandy bring comfort to the couple even as Penny and Stephen don’t exactly.

The only sadness is when it all ends, but if you have the DVDs you can just start all over. (And I do!) Also: BBCshop was extremely good at getting back to me when I had an inquiry about my order. In all the craziness happening in the tech world currently with pigeon languages and poor communication.

However I got an email from BBCshop that was coherent and surprisingly like a real letter! I wanted to send a thank you note and I suppose this is it. Thank you!.

Without a doubt, this is one of my all-time fav Britcoms. I first loved it on TV watching eps on my local PBS station, and have only grown to love it more over the years. The romantic premise is wonderful and touching, and it’s so beautifully and well written.

Dame Judi can do no wrong in my book, and now that the great Geoffrey Palmer is gone, it’s so nice to have this series to remember him by. Their acting is brilliant; their on-screen chemistry and timing is impeccable.

My box set arrived quickly and so far only one of the discs has been a little fussy in my player, but otherwise I’m very happy with the purchase and hope to enjoy watching for many years to come.

As Time Goes By is a wonderful series but I am sorry I invested in the remastered version. What a shoddy production! I am not referring to the video itself but the packaging and mis-labelling. For example, one disk is labelled “Disk 1.

Season 4. Episodes 1 – 5″. But when you play the disk, the screen legend says Volume 2, Disk 1. Confusing. The disk with the screen legend Volume 3, Disk 2. calls Episode 3 “Lionel’s New Hobby” which, is, indeed, the third episode in that series.

But it displays a still image from Episode 4 and plays Episode 4, therefore causing you to see them out of broadcast sequence which does matter. Finally, the external labels on the disks make no sense.

You get Disk 1 Season 1, Disk 2 Season 2, Disk 3 Season 3 Episodes 1 – 5, Disk 4 Season 3 Episodes 6 – 10. So far, so good. Then for no apparent reason, it starts over at Disk 1 for Season 4. And it again starts back at Disk 1 for Season 7.

And is it good for DVDs to just stack on top of each other? Shame on BBC.

I watched this show as a kid growing up in the ’60’s when it first came on TV. I was only about 10 so I didn’t get all the grown-up situations. But watching it now, 60 years later, it’s cool to see so many great actors at both the beginning of their careers, Redford, Duvall, Sheen, Caan and towards the end Fairbanks Jr.

, Lew Ayres, Crawford. Plus the hundreds of character actors featured throughout the run of the series that we’ve seen in thousands of roles combined My only complaint was the price of the set, but no one put a gun to head and forced me to buy it.

So all-in-all I’m happy with my purchase.

The render quality on the first three episodes of Season 1 is mediocre – maybe due to available source material? After that they look much better. A spot check of other seasons looks good considering it’s DVD not Blu-Ray.

These series of Route 66 seem to move slow, and without very much excitement. I purchased it because I though I missed out during the years that the show made it’s run on television. The entire box series was approximately $72.

00. I could have lived without it. I’ll keep it, and watch a show from time to time. I have seen the entire first three discs, and cannot think of one particular show that I would watch again.

I don’t care for 90% of the cop or crime drama shows on TV, don’t like westerns, and think folks put too much emphasis on certain actors-having said that, I love this show! Casting did an excellent job finding the right actors for respective parts, and the multiple stories (spanning the entire season and in each episode) are all excellent.

Season 1 was so good, I had to wonder how long they could keep it up-looks like they made it to about episode 5 of the new season before a few mediocre episodes appeared. I’ve been so disappointed in movies lately that I rarely go (they confuse motion with action), and one thing I really miss is the soundtracks-new movies went south long before the soundtracks-season 1 has a great soundtrack, and I don’t care for country music! I had to go hunting for the music, but here’s a few I’ve found: Ten Million Slaves by Otis Taylor, You Left Me Lefty by United Steelworkers of Montreal, Sans Soleil by Miike Snow (yup, two ‘I’s’ in Miike), Someday I’ll Be Forgiven For This by Justin Townes Earle, You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive by Brad Paisley, Little Lovin’ by Lissie (music from season 2 trailer).

I gave season 1 to a relative that normally would not give a show like this a second glance, and they blew through all 13 episodes in short order!.

I live in the north but was born & raised in the south & this series reminded me how things were done back then. Loved it! A friend of mine who’s never been to the southern states didn’t care much for it.

I love the characters, especially the main character, how blunt & straight forward without games he is. Love how he just takes charge & gets ‘er done! Different from other cop shows for sure, and to me in a very good way!.

There’s not much to be said here on the series Justified that has not been said already. Great writing and dialogue under the direction ( until his passing in 2013 ) of Elmore Leonard, superbly acted, engaging characters.

A true ground breaking series much in the mold of Miami Vice, NYPD Blue, and a few others. Recommended!.

I wanted to buy this series, because their are few dramas that have truly original and engaging story lines. I remembered this series and looked on this site to purchase it. I look on Ebay first!

I love the 70s and 80s tv shows. They were clean for the whole family. Todays shows are trash most of them. Manimal still one of my favs.

Another short run show from the 80s. Its amazing what they achieved long before CGI was common. Downside is part of me swears there were more episodes to the series

This is a great show to watch. I like most of the characters in it, and it keeps you wanting to come back for more. Not normal cowboys. When i saw the outside, i thought it was a cowboy movie, and i hate those, but this is very entertaining.

The main guy is always shooting someone, and his boss turns a blind eye. You’ll love it.

Outstanding series, excellent story. Timothy Olyphant is good as Raylan Givens, and Walton Goggins utterly excels as Boyd Crowder. The downside is the packaging- 19 discs in a single case stacked on one spindle like a bulk pack of writable DVDs.

Getting the bottom disc out to view requires lifting (and possibly fumbling) a loose stack of 18 discs, which explains the entire series being at such a low price- they cheaped out big time on the packaging.

Thus the 3 star rating- the show is actually 5 star, but the packaging is 1 star garbage.

Timothy Olyphant is a good replacement for the aged Clint Eastwood. Much of the same mannerisms, voice and speech. Incredible! The heros I grew up with are either dead or not long to be (John Wayne, Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood) and Timothy Olyphant has breathed new life into the space left void.

Every generation needs a good hero and he fits the bill. Actors come and go quickly these days like a flash in the pan but here’s someone who I hope sticks around for a long time to come. I am 66 years old and this is reminiscent of my past.

My age group and older will especially enjoy this series and perhaps the real men of the newer generations. This is about Timothy Olyphant who is the product!.

A MUCH MORE appropriate ending to a wonderful series and a more than just memorable character. Well worth the effort made to assemble everything needed to make this happen

REMINDS ME A LITTLE BIT OF THE SERIES “THE WINDS OF WAR”. JAG CERTAINLY BELONGS TO THIS QUALITY OF TV SERIES.

Have watched JAG and TV and really enjoyed watching it. Wanted to watch the series from start to finish in order. However, the print on the DVDs are difficult to read, there is no “play” or scene options, etc.

as with movies that we own. The DVD does not fit our TV screen size. Not sure that I would have purchased this if I had known the stated difficulties.

Jag had several episodes where part 1 of such ended the previous season and part 2 began the next season. This collection, on all but two instances, omits the infamous “Previously on JAG,” review/preview of the 2nd episode.

Also, on Season 9, Episode 1, “A tangled Webb Part 2,” a tribute to the late Trevor Goddard (LtCmdr. Mic Brumby), was part of the episode. It is not part of the episode in this collection and it should have been.

While I am quite thrilled to have all the seasons of this exhilarating TV series, I am somewhat disappointed that it is not 100% complete.

Great content, of course, but many of the discs were scratched, which is disconcerting and disappointing. Whoever packed them was very careless. In addition, the packaging itself is very impractical causing discs to overlap and scratch each other.

Very bad design. Also, the picture freezes frequently which is quite annoying and unexpected. It’s not my players as I’ve tried the discs in at least three DVD players and the discs freeze in each one.

Moreover, the picture is very grainy meaning these have obviously not been remastered. I suppose we expect sharp, clear images nowadays, but these are substandard. Love the show, but its presentation here is of surprisingly poor quality.

I grew up in the fifties, and Leave It to Beaver was a show I watched regularly! I had 2 older brothers but only 1 of them I would consider as “Wally: to me. The fifties were such an innocent time! Beavers’ mom was not at all like mine! My Mom was not a stay-at-home Mom! The Beavrs’ parents were great role models to a kid.

They were loving and forgiving types who supported their 2 boys despite any trouble they got into. Wally’s friend was Eddie Haskell, who often got Wally (RIP Tony Dow) into crazy situations, as well as gave the Beaver terrible advice! This series is fun and the kind of family entertainment you need today!.

The first dvd couldn’t be read. After wiping it off I got it to work after a couple tries. The second one plays ok so far. The picture isn’t the clearest. It is much clearer on TV. I find it is expensive for poor quality picture.

Hope the other dvd’s play better. I Love Leave it to Beaver and I am happy to be able to watch it though.

Great videos. Very realistic–gives good insight for understanding what our people went through in Viet Nam. Acting is excellent, characters are very engaging. You really get attached to them. It’s like a modernized redux of Combat! only moved up from WW-II to Viet Nam.

Image quality in the DVDs is very good–remember it was TV series, not a made for hi-def Blu-Ray video. Packaging is fine, the disks are adequately protected. Evidently some intro music is left out, but there’s plenty of period-music throughout the videos that will more than throw you back into that era.

Overall, I find them gripping, and binge-watch one after another. Already recommended it to a friend in his 70’s to help him gain a better understanding of his, recently passed, Viet Nam veteran brother.

I thank God every day that even though I was classified 1A, I had a high draft lottery number and was never called to the living hell of the Viet Nam war. I was so naive and immature, I would no doubt have been killed the first day out.

Or, like so many, have come back a serious addict and/or emotionally damaged for life. These guys deserve our utmost respect and appreciation.

I have always loved this series! I watched when I was a teenager and now I’m able to watch it again and love it just as much! Great writing, great acting, great directing! This series is about the emotional impact of the Vietnam War on its soldiers.

You know the violence is happening but instead of focusing on the blood and gore, it focuses on how that violence effected our soldiers. I can’t say enough good things about this series! The way the manufacturer decided to package the DVDs leaves a lot to be desired.

The box itself is cool, like a mini footlocker, however the DVDs themselves are in open cardboard sleeves and I found they kept falling out. until I devoted a few pages of my DVD/CD binder to the discs and now they are easily accessible while also kept safe from damage.

🙂 There is no episode guide, either (other than the episode names on each disc, that is). However, I put together my own guide using IMDb and an Excel spreadsheet. 🙂 Sadly, due to copyright issues I’m sure, Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones) is not the opening theme song on the DVDs but I simply bought the song on iTunes.

I mute the TV during the opening credits and play the song on my phone so that I can fully immerse myself in the nostalgia of the series! I’m weird, I know, but I’ve heard other people complain about this change, so I figured I would offer up my solution just in case it works for someone else, too! All in all, this set is DEFINITELY worth the money I paid.

Good quality. The disc are in double sided sleeves, so that part is disappointing but other that it’s good. Also, these are the syndicated episodes, so the original series soundtrack is not available.

A wonderful film. The thought of two dimwits needing to raise $100,000 dollars to hire a hitman to kill one’s father in order to inherit a Million is different. But, they have no jobs and no skills so they decide to kidnap some stranger and get him to rob a bank for them.

Hilarity ensues. Jesse Eisenberg plays the protagonist quite well. But there is one minor flaw: with him playing such a whiny, poor me character you almost start waiting for the real bad guys to blow up his bomb vest.

Almost. But I wont go any farther or I’ll be throwing out too many spoilers. Does he succeed in robbing a bank? Does he survive the film? Does he die a virgin? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.

If you’re a fan of Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, and Aziz Ansari you are in luck. Loosely based on true events, 30 Minutes or Less is a fast paced, fun action/comedy. An underachieving, but excellent driving, pizza delivery boy (Eisenberg) is kidnapped, strapped with a bomb, and forced to rob a bank by an even more underachieving, freeloading son of a lottery winner and his lackey friend.

With the help of his best friend (Ansari), the pizza boy is in for the delivery of his life. The movie is fast paced, funny, and never overstays its welcome. The blu-ray presentation is top notch as well with a pristine 1080p transfer and a wonderful DTS-MA soundtrack.

Highly recommended.

Sony normally releases Blu-ray’s with excellent video and audio, which is no exception with ’30 Minutes or Less’ on Blu-ray. Although a great release in terms of quality, the movie isn’t as funny or memorable – but its not bad at all.

I think Aziz Ansari was hilarious in this movie, as well as Danny McBride – Recommended if you’re a fan of these two.

The comedy team of Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis was a match made in heaven. The show was beautifully written and executed with perfect comic timing. Very daring for its time but was a huge success and is still treasured and loved by millions of viewers worldwide today.

This particular dvd presentation was absolutely first rate with an abundance of very interesting and insightful bonus interviews and biographies of the stars of the show. The conversion and digital reworking of the show to the final dvd form was magnificent with superb clarity and sound.

As explained in the bonus documentaries of the stars – this show was an enormous amount of physical and mental strain on star Fred Gwynne, but he gave of his all and more, episode after episode, so that generation after generation could be greatly entertained, especially during the hard times many of us go through, keeping us laughing over and over.

This show also wore very well over the years, as did the other great comedy series – Car 54 Where Are You, which also starred Fred Gwynne, Joe E. Ross and Al Lewis, and can be watched over and over and over, without the great humor and countless gags in the show getting stale, which made it so special, as was the case with several 60’s TV shows – The Golden Age of television.

Many heartfelt thanks to Fred and Al and all of the fine cast members and to Universal for making this wonderful DVD presentation possible for all of us to enjoy for ever and ever.

A lot of comedy shows written in the 1960s were based on families that were unusual: Bewitched, The Addams Family, My Favorite Martian, and The Munsters. These shows relied on camera trickery, amazing make-up, or both.

Also, the humor in these shows was often very clever. The viewers came to these programs for escape from ho-hum everyday life, and they got it. A lot of programs made during the 1960s still hold up today as fine entertainment, and that includes The Munsters.

Its great fun, with wonderful gags, and is an important part of our television heritage.

I choose this version of the product to see the unaired 15 minute pilot episode. It was very interesting that it was shot in color and was basically an incomplete episode. I guess they were willing to take a chance with such a unique premise.

Seeing someone else ever so briefly as Lily and Eddie was also interesting. The Eddie character was definitely different. I would definitely recommend purchasing!.

I can not believe how much I am enjoying these old shows. Why they were ever taken off of the air is mind blowing to me. I had been looking for any way possible to see a few episodes and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to have an entire boxed set because I haven’t seen it in like 20 plus years.

I was completely thrilled by how many old quality actors from back in the day are featured. I have to say that I think this is one of the best bang for the buck purchases I’ve made in years. I am completely happy with the purchase.

Thanks for bringing some good nostalgia and ended a search that had been ongoing for years. I’m only on disc 3 but have to say that it’s just great in a way I haven’t experienced in many years.

I remember watching these as a kid in the 80s after the 11 oclock news. The regular station wouldnt play them before then. Wow, the 80s were something else! There were some really scary gems. Dont miss the episode, Inside the Closet.

This is a great collection to have if you like short horror stories. Some episodes are better than others, but it is a spooky fun collection to have. If you like Tales from the Crypt and Amazing Stories, you will also enjoy this collection.

I was pleasantly surprised. This was one of my childhood favorites. There a a few episodes that I never saw. The picture quality is excellent. I am so happy I was able to buy this product at reasonable price.

Awesome TV show, basically the military to NCIS’ civilian investigations. The first couple of episodes seem to drag on a bit but after that the show is real easy to get into. Harman Rab Jr, is a fantastic protagonist with just enough of the rebel to really grow attached to the man.

The military protocol is spot on, which for anyone that has/does serve its a big deal and we like to see it gotten right.

I liked and was satisfied with the special features. Just wish there was a gag real and profile on David James Elliott. The condition was excellent because it was shrink wrapped. Nice commentary by the creator Donald P.

Saw a binge of JAG on Decades several weeks ago and decided I would like to see it again. No network or streaming was handling it so I bought the First Season, Good Quality DIsc’s, and brought back the reasons I liked JAG.

Thinking about buying Season Two soon.

Grew up on this show, love, love. love. it, with all avenues and directions that it took me through. I am excited to have all the episodes, where I can watch, without commericals. I am superpumped, for a day off, me, and my dvd player! Yeah Me!!!!!.

Its so great to watch shows that keep you engagedWhere the characters are believable, and you find yourself smiling for the entire episode and laughing out loud as well. And unlike the shows of today, the situations and the comedy are both clean, so I dont have to worry about the content surprising and disturbing my family.

Sometimes when buying items on sale, especially as low priced as this was, you become kind of skeptical about the item. But, this was totally worth it. I received all 16 disks in great condition. All of the episodes are available and play.

So, now I’m in for a nice marathon.

I first watched Columbo when I was at my dad’s house one evening and never before heard of the show mainly because it first aired before my time in the early 1970’s and I was born in 1986. I luckily have the entire series that I can access on Roku TV and soon enough it will probably be deleted and replaced by some lame other show that can’t even hold a candle to Columbo at all and that’s exactly why I’m going to purchase the DVD from Ebay or Walmart so that I can always access it because I love watching Columbo.

There were some really good shows produced in the 1970’s like Columbo. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys old school shows from decades ago that are still interesting to watch. Purchase the series because you won’t be disappointed at all.

I thought this The Complete Series collection was ALL, but it wasnt. This has seasons 1 thru 7 and 25 TV movies, filmed throu the 70s. There is another season and a half available starting in 1989, and another run around 2003 and 2004.

So this was a great deal for $50 with free 2-day shipping, but now Id like to get the rest, which will be another almost $50. There are several different collections, making it very confusing to try to get everything – especially since there doesnt seem to be a single collection that includes ALL.

I have this collection and plan to buy 2 more. I do LOVE these shows, but note that they are all quite long. Cant find the run times but I think theyre all at least 80 or 90 minutes or so. Enjoy!.

This is from THE GOLDEN AGE of television. AS it is said They just don’t make them like that anymore !!! From the guest stars and the story plots, to the incomparable performance of Peter Falk as Columbo it is perfection of an art form in it’s highest degree !!! WHO could ask for more ?????.

I always enjoyed seinfeld in passing when on t. v. but after I purchased and watched every season on dvd. I became a true fan! I have enjoyed every episode they made and made a routine of watching at night before bed.

It made a difference to laugh and be in a great mood the next morning. To me this show is one of the absolute best ever made. HAPPY WATCHING.

My girlfriend bought me Season Seven of Seinfeld as an early X-mas present and she got me exactly what I wanted. It’s so hilarious, every character on the show is funny even if some of the humor is a little off the wall (New York humor can be a little different at times, and living in the Midwest sometimes I don’t always get all the humor, so at times it’s geographical humor).

Jerry has his observational jabs, Elaine gets her kicks making fun of Jerry and George, George is engaged while trying to getting out of it every chance he can, and Kramer, well he’s Kramer. Seinfeld started out with season one and it wasn’t as big of a success as it was during later years including the seventh season.

It was funny, but a lot of it was dry humor, and you had really no idea if the show would even last, especially because the show wasn’t really about much more than ordinary things that you do in life.

The very first episode didn’t even have Elaine in it, it had a somewhat annoying girl that stayed at Jerry’s for the weekend even though she was engaged (which you didn’t find out until later in the show to Jerry’s amazed disappointment).

Boy, am I glad they got rid of her. I can’t imagine the show without Elaine. And the show sure picked up some steam, becoming one of the best sitcoms of all time (personally my favorite anyway). Season seven starts off with The Engagement where George gets engaged to Susan, who had previously broken up with him to become a lesbian but it didn’t take as George puts it, and ends with The Invitations where Susan dies from licking the glue on the wedding invitations (where do these writers come up with these crazy storyline? I don’t know, but they’re genius).

In between, George tries to get Susan to doubt her trust of him, he tries smoking to annoy her, and attempts to see if he can go out with Marisa Tomei behind Susan’s back. In the last episode, he calls Marisa just after Susan has died for a date, telling her that he has the funeral tomorrow but he has the whole weekend free if she wants to do something.

Just plain crazy humor, off the wall and carefree as only a Seinfeld show can be. There are many gems on Season Seven that made me laugh uncontrollably like The Soup Nazi, where an eccentric soup server who makes the best soup in the city decides if you’re worthy enough to eat his soup.

The Bottle Deposit has Kramer and Newman coming up with a crazy scheme to bring cans and bottles to Michigan to get the 10 cent refund instead of the 5 cent refund in New York, while Jerry takes his car to the mechanic (played by Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond) who then falls in love with his car and takes off with it.

The Sponge is very funny but is also a noteworthy episode because Elaine coins the phrase “spongeworthy”, which is now in many people’s vocabulary just because of Seinfeld. I think my favorite episode, though, has to be The Rye.

George and his family are invited to Susan’s parents for dinner and they bring a rye bread, but George’s dad brings it back with him afterward because it wasn’t served. Then George and Jerry try sneaking another rye back into their apartment and I love the scene where Jerry wrestles the rye away from the old woman.

So dumb, but so funny. I love it. The extras are also cool, the last episode has a few deleted scenes that can’t be missed with the real George Steinbrenner. Seinfeld has become must see DVD. I highly recommend you buy every season of Seinfeld.

Checking the Sunday Paper Obits and noticed that Yvonne De Carlo passed away earlier this year, on January 8th. I remember that back in 1964, she was cast as Lily Munster in the TV series The Munsters; the show had a three-year run in primetime but is still seen in syndication.

I thought that she added a lot of class to that show and was very sexy looking. especially in black and white! She reprised that role in the 1981 television movie The Munster’s Revenge in color. In the meantime I had seen her earlier movies on TV when she was a classic Hollywood Beauty in the Song of Scheherazade, Casbah, and The Gal Who Took the West.

Her best known role at that time period was being Sephora, Moses’ wife, in Cecil B. DeMille’s epic The Ten Commandments. She had a classic beauty look in those pics. and was seen on a level with Sophia Loren, and Gina Lollabridgida in classic looks.

For those that like Yvonne DeCarlo as an actress, this DVD of her TV acting period on the Munsters is not to be missed! She definitely made this vamp role her own! Michael.

I bought this DVD because my husband and I were telling our 6 year old daughter about the show and how we loved it when we were younger. My husband is a huge Frankenstein fan and now it seems our daughter is following in his footsteps! She LOVES the DVD and was watching it non-stop the weekend it came.

The price was right and the DVD came much quicker then they originally told me! Watching this with our daughter (and our 2 year old son likes Herman also) brings back many childhood memories and now we’re creating new ones with our children!.

I have always loved the munsters and am so glad to have made this purchase. It was one of my favoprite shows coming up as a child. I only wish it had lasted longer. I have both seasons now and am so happy to have them.

Thank goodness for E-bay, where you can find whatever you want. Even if it’s a childhood memory.
