1) It is one of the cheapest and high-quality vests compared to the rest of them. 2) It is the slimmest and is less profile compared to the others. Meaning that the Rogue plate carrier does not have any extra bells and whistles attached to it.
The two other plate carriers are for military purposes and have pockets to hold magazines and other tactical stuff. The Rogue plate carrier has pockets for only the weighted plates. 1 pocket in the front and 1 in the back.
When running with the Rogue plate carrier, your arms do not hit or touch the sides of the vest when swinging your arms. For shorter people like me (I’m 5’5″), I feel like this weight vest fits my torso/chest very well and does not feel “too long”.
Meaning that the bottom of the vest does not rub up against my belly button, does not get in the way when doing an air squat, and does not pinch where the top of my leg meets my torso. When you put the plates inside of their pockets, they fit perfectly and do not have any extra room, thus reducing the amount of movement when running or performing other movements (pull-ups, push-ups, burpees, etc.
) Because of its simplicity, adjusting the shoulder straps is very easy to make the vest fit the way you want. If you take a look at the Rogue plate carrier online, it may look poorly and cheaply made, but the material is actually very nice, durable, and made in the USA (a huge plus).
Since I am a smaller dude (5’5″) I got a size small, which was a perfect fit for me. What makes the vest feel snug and comfortable against the front and back of your body are the plates that you use to insert into the vest.
I got the curved 10lb weights (Rogue Echo/USA Cast Weight Vest Plates) and they feel so comfortable resting against my chest and back. I would say that the only thing that I wish the Rogue vest had is more comfortable shoulder pads (to me this is a very minor thing).
Don’t get me wrong, the shoulder straps feel perfectly fine resting on your shoulders but would probably feel irritated if you wore a shirt that exposed more skin on your shoulder area. I would try and not wear a tank top.
If you wear a regular shirt, the vest will feel perfectly fine. You also have the option to buy extra padding for the should pads if you want. After using this weight vest for over a month, I would highly recommend this product to anyone! It was definitely worth the money and I am fully confident that you will not be disappointed if you consider buying this product!.
