20 Best 32 Inch Wide Refrigerator (2022 Updated)

While the unit itself looks really good, that’s where its positive traits end. It keeps food cold, which is the bare minimum to be expected of a fridge/freezer, but it feels like the designers really phoned it in on the actual use of it.

First, it’s way smaller inside than our previous fridge while filling the same hole in our kitchen. Maybe it’s more insulation which makes it more efficient, but for the price we paid, I want that space back.

Use those dollars to research better cooling methods or something, I don’t think I can understate how much noticably smaller this is, than what I expected. Next, the finish is not durable at all. My wife scratched it up the first time she cleaned it with a standard kitchen sponge.

Painted plywood holds up better than this. Third, the water dispenser is in a really weird position. The nozzle is really short forcing you to jam the cup right up to the wall, and the button is placed in such a way that you need two right arms somehow, or bend in a weird way.

It’s nit picky, but again, this was an expensive appliance and I expected more. Finally, and my biggest issue, the ice maker in the freezer. It feels like it was an after thought and constantly fights with the (also very small) freezer drawer.

The maker doesn’t always register that it’s full, causing ice to overflow the basket and fall under the slide out drawer. Best case scenario you end up with ice cubes falling on to your floor when you open it, worst case they stay in there and keep the drawer from closing properly and now your food is spoiled.

Would not recommend this for any kitchen that exists outside of Instagram.

Two stars because it keeps food cold, so it does perform the bare minimum of what it’s supposed to do. However, I really dislike this fridge and regret making this purchase. When the freezer compressor is on, it makes this annoying high-pitched noise that’s so loud I can hear it over the sound of the furnace on the opposite side of the house.

I literally have to shut my bedroom door at night because the noise keeps me awake. Technicians have come out and leveled it, run diagnostics on it, and said that there’s nothing wrong with it, but if that’s what it’s supposed to sound like, that is really disappointing.

The 20 year old fridge in our garage is quieter than this one. I wish I had paid more attention to other reviews before buying this fridge, because others have had the same issue. It seems like quality control at the GE factory leaves something to be desired.

(In addition to the loud freezer, my fridge also arrived with a dented door, which cannot be replaced under warranty since I didn’t install the appliance within 7 days of receiving it. ) You might get lucky and end up with a good fridge, or get unlucky and end up with a dud like mine, and then you’re stuck with it with no recourse.

This refrigerator is beautiful. It has ample space for a smaller size counter depth appliance. The shelves are made of glass and have many configurations to fit storage needs. The bins along the sides are deep, tall, and lined with a rubber matting.

Making the doors flexible options for a multitude of items. The freezer is on the smaller side. But with a second fridge in the garage, there is more than enough room for this family of four to store the go to items.

However, there are a few issues and we have not owned this appliance for more than a month. 1. Haier forgot the lowest condiment bin on the right door. Not a big deal, but the dealer thought they ordered the right part.

WRONG. When I called the dealer back, they could not locate the RIGHT part and told me it was not able to be ordered. We did our own research and found the part number and then told the dealer what to do.

Ok not a big deal. 2. Once set up we noticed that the fridge was not level. My husband, being very handy, tried to level it. He had no success. We decided to live with it for a bit until we could figure it out.

However, after about 2 weeks the fridge started making a HORRIBLE buzzing noise. We noticed that it stopped if we leaned into the refrigerator. We equated the buzzing to the fridge not being level. We put our minds to figuring out how to fix this.

We got an appliance bladder to lift the fridge enough to unscrew the foot more to help level it. That worked, but when we released the bladder, the weight of the fridge collapses the foot. It seems the screw of the foot or the threads of the bolt must be stripped.

So we have to live with the buzzing until HAIER/GE come out to service the appliance. So hence the 3-star rating. We waited 8 months for an expensive refrigerator. It came missing a condiment shelf, the leveling foot is stripped, and it makes a horrible buzzing noise when the compressor turns on all with in the first 3 weeks of ownership.

However, … it is VERY PRETTY. Hoping that service can make all the necessary repairs. I don’t want to wait another 8 months for a refrigerator or give it less stars.

We purchased this unit because we had an Amana for the past 15 years, which was quite reliable. The older unit was standard Freezer on Top model. The newer unit is about 2cubic feet larger volume, but frankly it’s less usable space.

We have had to move a number of items formerly stored in our kitchen fridge/freezer to our basement freezers because they just dont fit in the new unit. Frankly, I’m disappointed. As a guy that’s done some product design myself, I can suggest that the new unit was likely designed by a guy, and not by someone that actually uses the thing every day.

More background; I was part of a team that originally imported the Vestfrost units to the USA. I actually have some experience with completely new fridge/freezer formats. I was able to get used to the Vestfrost and make the space work, despite it being a considerably smaller volume than typical US units.

Sorry to say that this Amana layout is just not as practical as the older model; more volume, less usable space. No wonder we have to import tech support.

This is a replacement for the same refrigerator we bought 16 years ago. The older one had a pullout tray for 12-oz beverage cans and this one didn’t. Also, the old one had a smudge-resistant door and this one doesn’t.

However, I still like the flexibility in moving the shelves around in the door and the main cavity, the freezer on the bottom is perfect for me and it JUST fits my cabinetry opening. My old one had an ice-maker and this one didn’t.

I had to order and pay extra for it, but I didn’t realize that until the refrig was delivered. I don’t remember if the old one came with the ice maker or if it was an add-on at that time. I had to rate its quality, etc.

I have an Amana in my garage from 1992 and one behind my bar from 1996. They both are still working great even after I moved almost a year ago. I bought this model when I remodeled the kitchen at my new place and we love it.

My Mother is 75 and walks with a cane, she lives with me and this model is great for her. This fridge keeps everything cold evenly, there is a lot of shelf space, the door also has large shelves. Being that my Mom is semi-handicapped we keep everything she consumes at her level so no bending down or high reaching, and nothing gets dropped.

When people come over they can’t believe how much room a top fridge has (they all have side by side doors). I thought that having a smooth finish on the front doors would get a lot of fingerprints but it cleans up very easy with windex and a paper towel.

The fridge at my old house was stainless steel and never looked clean. I will only buy Amana refrigerators from now on I researched all of them but I went with Amana because of my history with the product.

This is the BEST fridge ever.

I purchased this Fisher Paykel fridge after my 15-year-old fridge went kaput. My most important features in the new fridge were 33″ or smaller, bottom freezer, water dispenser, and in stock. My choices were a lower-end Samsung or this Fisher Paykel.

I had been admiring Fisher Paykel appliances for a few years and decided to spend a little extra for this one and I’m so glad I did. Upsides: The external water filter is actually a big plus for me – it means more space in an already small fridge.

I installed mine in a cabinet above the fridge and store extra filters in the same cabinet. It’s a perfect solution and means the fridge is as flush as possible to the wall. (I’m too short to use that cabinet for anything else.

) The interior is well laid out and I appreciate the bottle holders that came with it. I ended up buying a few bins from the Container Store to organize the shelves and it’s been working great. Ice maker works well and I love that it came with a scoop.

The second drawer in the freezer means I’m not losing food to the abyss. I use the top for leftovers, coffee grinds, and ice cream. The bottom gets meats and frozen meals. Nothing gets lost! Downsides: the water dispenser dripped for a few days until I realized there was still air in the filter and tubes.

I drew nearly 5 gallons before the tubes stopped dripping. Since then, everything has been perfect. I highly recommend this fridge, though it may be better if you can get it from another supplier. Best Buy promised this unit was “in stock” but it then took 6+ weeks for delivery.

Upon delivery, the installers refused to put the filter where I wanted it because they “can’t drill into the wall. ” They also installed the filter directly into the drywall without any anchors. I feel you could get better selling practices and install from a local company.

The fridge portion is nice but has a very awkward way of opening the produce drawers. Plus the top shelves on the inside of the door are enclosed and you can’t move them or take off the lid. I can’t fit much in there so it’s wasted space.

The freezer door opens like the fridge door and it’s awkward to pull open the three drawers. Also, the inside of the freezer door has a bump around the door which means you have to fully swing the door open so if you’re limited on space this will be a problem.

Beware there is NO LIGHT in the freezer which is a disappointment. I have never had a bottom-freezer that did not have a light. It’s too bad they didn’t design the freezer as a pull-out drawer instead of a door that swings open.

Odd configuration. In general, this refrigerator has been a huge disappointment in quality given the price. It’s a nice-looking fridge on the inside and minus my two comments about the fridge I was happy with the inside.

A bit noisier than I would like.

There is no worse manufacturer than Fisher and Paykel. I beg all potential customers to choose a different brand. My new dishwasher was just a rinser of dishes, it never cleaned anything. After two years and two service calls (the first technician told me it was just a poorly designed product) an F&P technician installed an upgraded computer board for almost $300 and it now works decently.

So it WAS poorly designed but I had to pay for it. I have two friends who also regret buying this dishwasher but I can’t figure out what’s worse – their dishwashers or refrigerators. My fridge stopped working after 2.

5 years and I’ve been waiting more than 4 months for a resolution. I’ve had 7 service calls so far with three different repair organizations. I just bought a Frigidaire mini fridge last week. Too bad zero stars are not possible.

Any option is better than F&P.

Best buy ever…. no pun intended. We bought a house with a charming workhorse of a fridge that was nearly 40 years old. When it finally died, we were in the midst of the supply issue where appliances were very hard to come by.

Anyway, it was one of the only ones available fairly quickly so we read tons of reviews on it and compared it to other cheaper brands. We decided to get it. Things happen for a reason-this thing is awesome!!! We lost 3-4 cubic feet but can’t tell it all (old fridge was a side by side, there’s just 2 of us).

It looks beautiful in the new space, is super quiet, and quality seems top notch when compared to traditional brands. My only wish is that the freezer had a light but I’d still take this over others.

With an appliance. Beautifully designed and put together, so easy to use and care for—so far. Maybe this love, too, will disappoint, but for now I am so happy to have this in my life. No bending and fumbling, no danger of moldy mystery jars disappearing into back corners.

Everything stays cold, spills are easy to clean up. One minor gripe: the doors don’t close themselves, but beep obnoxiously until somebody closes them. That in no way diminishes my joy, in the most expensive appliance I’ve ever bought—5x more than the last infuriating one.

Maybe sometimes you do get what you pay for?.

I was very nervous about it fitting in our space, since floor to our upper cabinet is 68”, but I didn’t have to worry. Our cabinet above the fridge doesn’t even come halfway over the top of the fridge, so the hinge that’s 67.

75” tall doesn’t come close to the cabinet. I haven’t measured so don’t quote me exactly, but the back part of the fridge looks at least an inch shorter than the highest point of the hinge. As someone else mentioned, the drawers in the fridge open together, so you have to open both doors, but that’s not a huge deal to me.

I bought the fridge in white, and can confirm that the side panels are also white, not silver/steel like the spec mentions somewhere. Overall, I’m just so happy with how this fridge fits in our space, and how much room it has despite being counter depth.

I would absolutely recommend this fridge.

I am very happy with this particular unit so far and haven’t had any issues so far. I think Best Buy though, should hold of on wanting to get this review for a few weeks after the customer has received the product, Getting this email request for a review within 24 hours of delivery is totally ridiculous.

That’s why I’ve held of on doing it for a few weeks (just to see how this thing really works). This frig is a vast improvement over the frig that it is replacing, being both bigger and smaller than the previous one.

I also want to say that the guys that made the delivery were absolutely fantastic, only 22 minutes to do the total swap out. And they took the old one away as well. So far I’m very happy with the whole thing right now.

The fridge works well, but it’s impossible to store anything. The middle shelf folds in on itself meaning you have to put all of the tall stuff in front and the small stuff behind it in the back. Then you forget you have the small stuff in the back and it goes bad, or you just don’t use the space at all.

There’s always the option to not fold the shelf in but then you can’t store anything talk at all. I’ve had my fridge for over a year now and I still hate it. It never got better. Honestly, think about the layout before you buy it.

Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Fridge was delivered with dent in front freezer door, freezer door not sealing/closing properly and Maytag sticker was crooked. No issues with customer service-replaced whole unit. New unit is less than a month old and having issues again with freezer door seal.

I didn’t purchase extended warranty but would recommend. I can see in a yr when I don’t have coverage this will be an issue. Fridge is louder than my old one but like the layout of the fridge.

We bought this unit a year ago and have been very satisfied. With 37 degree standard temp, food stays fresher longer. Also, by using locking storage containers along with paper towels, we throw out almost nothing.

The center drawer is very convenient because it keeps smaller items from stacking up on the other shelves. The built-in hidden door handle makes for a more sleek look and safer experience. The door shelves easily hold gallon containers.

We have 1 gallon bottle about 12 smaller condiment bottles in each shelf. Be sure to properly adjust the front feet at installation. Make sure the door hinge side is high enough to help close the door.

The door has a hitch in it near closing so it takes a bit of effort to close it. Adjusting the feet will also help reduce noise from the compressor. (I found this out on the website, which is very informative and well done.

FYI: The fridge does make some popping and other various noises during operation. Overall, we’re fine with it, especially for the price.

For awhile I thought it was user error. Maybe I put something too big in the freezer door? Or maybe the kids aren’t closing the door? After returning from a vacation to find the freezer door ajar and everything melted, I decided to take a good look at the situation.

Was there something impeding the door cloure? No. What could it be? After several tests I realized that when I opened the refrigerator door and allowed it to shut using only the force of the gravity hinge, the compression caused by the door closing was enough to pop open the freezer door about 1/4″.

Enough to force the freezer to run continuously. And after days of continuous running with the door ajar, it was not enough to maintain freezing temperature. Now we have a sign on the door that says “CLOSE FREEZER”, because this probably happens 1/3rd of the time someone opens the door.

In retrospect this has been happening since the refrigerator was new, but I always assumed it was the fault of one of the kids. It’s hard to believe after 50 years of using refrigerators, and all of the R&D that LG must put into product design that this could even happen.

Haven’t we pretty much figured out the basic refrigerator by now?.

Purchased about one year ago. Having major issues with fridge and freezer temperatures. We throw out so much food because the fridge is not cold enough. I have been sick multiple times because the fridge does not maintain its temp.

It is a big fridge but it holds very little. The vents in the back of the freezer can not be covered or it will start to malfunction. The actual space is way less then advertised,for the fridge to function properly.

Less expensive, smaller ones have operated more efficiently and held more groceries. Temp adjusts to a type of auto defrost mode in freezer but reduces the cool of the entire fridge, causing food to spoil quickly.

Could not understand why groceries were going bad so quickly because fridge will remain cool but not cold enough. Please be careful! The warranty is only good for one year. THIS IS A RED FLAG ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THIS PRODUCT.

This is BY FAR the worst fridge purchase we have ever made. Purchased mid-2017. – from the day of purchase, the meat/cheese storage drawer lid constantly fell off. When we called Maytag we were told that it was a “known problem” but with no solutions to fix.

Maytag repairman came out twice and ended up installing shims to hold the drawer in place. -freezer drawer handle has come loose from the freezer drawer TWICE in 3 years of ownership. Handle arrived on delivery loose, and eventually the screw holding it to the door eventually gave way and the handle completely came off.

Maytag repairman had to replace the entire front freezer panel due to the construction mechanism of the screws–the handle alone cannot be replaced. Noticed this afternoon that the handle on the new door is now coming off.

TERRIBLE!! – interior glass shelves for some reason have a large 2″+ gap at the back that allows food and jars to fall through – interior glass shelves do not come apart from the plastic casing for cleaning.

Food that has gotten in the cracks leaks under the glass and cannot be cleaned out. – plastic surrounding the glass shelves has fractures all through it – doors do not easily close without extra force, and there isn’t a warning chime to alert you that the door is ajar So many mornings we’ve woken up to discover that the fridge has been accidentally left ajar overnight, and is covered in frost.

A chime has been included in every other fridge we’ve purchased except this one. – freezer baskets are awkwardly installed and freezer door doesn’t open wide enough to allow removal for cleaning All in all, there is nothing I like I about this fridge.

There are so many design flaws and oversights in this fridge. Now that the freezer handle is coming off AGAIN and we will have to pay for the repair ourselves, I’d rather just get a new fridge. LOVED our Samsung, will never buy Maytag again.

ok, first I like this fridge with the ice maker in the freezer and NO filter to deal with. But there are a few things I’m not crazy about and had I known I “might” have reconsidered. First the temps can only be adjusted from 4 warmest to 7 coldest , rather than allowing more controled temp by degrees.

Second the crisper adjustments are sloped downward and if not careful pushing in crisper the adjuster can get broken, (hasn’t happened yet but I can see it comming if not very careful). Third the shelves are not spill proof, for the price paid should be spill proof.

Fourth, as there is no filter there is min plastic tubing on back of fridge, on installation they provided anti burst braided hose for hookup from water supply. Problem is the tubing from the water connection on fridge to the ice maker is still plastic tubing and prone to bursting or developing cracks and leaking waterr.

Overall Im happy with this fridge as there was limited choice if no water and especially filter is not wanted.

Bought this fridge 4/2020 and 20 months later, the circuit board that controls everything failed. The failure was not due to a power surge or anything done to the fridge, just stopped working. It isn’t covered under warranty because “it is man-made, so sometimes parts fail.

” This is ridiculous. The appliance failure was due to a faulty/poorly made part, but I have to pay for it. So now I have to pay $245 to buy a new circuit board and it hasn’t even been two years! I am disappointed that a $2300 refrigerator would just fail in less than two years, and Whirlpool doesn’t seem to think this is their problem.

My $300 vacuum has a better warranty and customer service.

We ordered our Whirlpool Refrigerator last July and the wait was torturous. We bought it from Best Buy, which, quite honestly, dropped the ball on so many levels. Twice we were given delivery dates and unloaded the old fridge, only to be stood up.

Best Buy sent employees out three times to measure for the refrigerator and the cooktop we ordered. When the cooktop arrived in January, it was too small for the opening in our granite countertop. We had to order a custom “frame” for it so that the hole would not show.

This was ordered from California and cost us another $220. There is a cabinet over the spot for the refrigerator that limited how tall it could be. After those three trips here to measure for it, it was about 3/4 inch too tall to fit in the spot.

It sat in the middle of the floor until we could find a carpenter to cut the bottom of the cabinet out and raise it an inch. Enough complaints about Best Buy. The refrigerator is fine. It keeps everything very cool, and the icemaker makes a nifty petite cube.

I love the space for flat items like lunchmeats because I can see everything in it. It has a bit less vertical space on the top shelf than I’m used to, but I feel sure that with time, we’ll get used to the difference.

I like it and I’m glad I chose a Whirlpool. Great product.

The pros of this fridge: more affordable and attractive and stylish than any of it’s competition, for this size. Unfortunately. The cons of this fridge are basically everything else. In short, it stopped working completely 2 weeks after delivery.

Once, about a week in, I noticed that everything in the freezer defrosted. I assumed maybe I didn’t close the door all the way, and thought I’d give it another chance. Then the day before yesterday (13 days after delivery), the internal electronic thermometer said “37” and “0” which is what I set it on, but everything inside the fridge was warm.

One night later, things inside the fridge started spoiling, and the thermometer now was flashing “37. ” Freezer still said “0. ” Then a few hours later, the thermometer for the fridge actually said “49” and would not let me reset it to “37.

” While the thermometer for the freezer still said “0” everything inside was in fact melted. The rear panel of the fridge was very warm to the touch, I resigned to throwing everything out, and unplugged it, in case it was planning on getting even more broken.

A special “0” rating goes to Best Buy. They actually have this fridge in stock in their warehouse, which is 1. 5 hours away from my house. But they claim that they are unable to deliver it until 8 days from now, which is when they would deliver it if I had bought a new fridge today.

So basically they’re claiming that they’re unable to make any sort of accommodation due to the fact that they sold me a defective fridge. They are however really sorry that I will need to live with no fridge for 8 days.

I love this fridge! I found myself without a fridge somewhat suddenly and I was scrambling to find something that wouldn’t take months to get. I didn’t have a lot of options that would fit in my apartment, but this one seemed like an okay option.

Reader, it has been an AMAZING option. It’s very spacious, but has enough drawers and shelves to make it easy to organize. It’s easy to program the thermostat for both the fridge and freezer. I set up the app, but it doesn’t do a whole lot other than letting me see the current temperature and sending me alerts when the door has been open for too long (it also chimes in person when that happens).

But you can set up reminders about replenishing the food in your fridge/freezer in the app every x number of days too which some people might find helpful. I can only think of two cons: 1) it’s weird to not have handles on the fridge.

I’m getting used to it and it’s fine, but it’s weird to have to pull from the top or bottom of the french doors. 2) fitting stuff into the freezer is still a work in progress for us. The big drawer is a little awkwardly shaped for some items and the smaller drawer isn’t always big enough for all of the flat things like frozen pizza we want to store there.

We make it work, but there is a lot of shuffling around of things. We don’t use the water line, so I can’t comment on the ice maker. We do put our ice cubes in there, but we have to fill them up at the sink.

There is a lot to love about this refrigerator. I have had it for over two weeks and I have been pleased with the look, the quietness, and the ability to consistently keep our items cold. I didn’t know it had Wifi abilities, will look into that and what it adds to my experience.

Everyone comments when they see it, where are the handles, I think I love that the most – no handles to get dirty with finger prints and knuckle prints. But there is one thing I am very displeased about this unit.

The icebox area is extremely small. and with the ice maker it gets even smaller. If you like frozen pizzas – may be a challenge to house them in this model. We are retired and have little need for lots of groceries – it is just us two.

But when we had a family of five, I would have to invest in an external freezer to house our food supply if I had this model. We were forced due to the space allowance in our condo to this size of refrigerator.

I suspect if others are buying this size they too are in a downsize living situation and a small or smaller freezer would not be a major issue. But if you need lots of freezer space – please review before you buy.

My wife and I just finished a major remodel on practically our entire house updating everything from the bathtub(s) to the kitchen sink, including all new appliances. Just under a year after completing the whole project the only regret I have is purchasing this refrigerator.

If you’ve never experienced buyers’ remorse and want to know what it feels like then I would definitely purchase this machine!!! The biggest issue with this contraption is the ice maker. If you look inside the gigantic ice machine that takes up so much room in the top left side of the refrigerator you notice the ice tray looks deep but it only fills up that chamber that looks the size of a softball bat.

Even when the machine is fully it barely gets us enough ice to last through a Saturday morning. Living in the desert and having active kids I had to buy a counter top ice maker just to offset the limited ice this machine holds.

It took whirlpool tech’s five visits to tell us there was nothing they could do to fix it because it was being caused by our low PSI RO system. Which is funny because the twelve-year-old refrigerator I had before this one was full all the time and we would have enough ice to fill up a cooler if we went somewhere.

As much room at that thing takes up you would think it could support the three people that even use ice in my family. Good luck if you like cold drinks!!! Second biggest issue with this poorly engineered appliance is the freezer space.

Not only is there limited space if you try to fill it up the door jam light stays on. If you trouble shoot and level it you can get it to go off but then when the freezer gets less full the door will close themselves.

So even when it’s perfectly level you have to make sure everything stay’s balanced or it will give you issues on and off. On top of our remodel we bought two new AC units and a new roof. With the markets being down we’re a little tight on funds but as soon as we get back ahead I will be replacing this hunk of junk.

I doubt I’ll get the $2600 dollars I blew on this thing back selling it online but hopefully I’ll get something to offset the loss. I’ll let the purchaser know this refrigerator belongs as a backup in the garage if you have the space for it!!!.

The refridgerator can;t be leveled properly, It sits ina prefectly flup and square opening, however using the two leveling adjustments in the font to make it fit correctly in the opening have it rocking back and forth because the rear fixed feet are not true.

3 tries by installers failed to rectify this. The apparent finish is NOT stainless steel, it’s a cheap plastic with a painted finish. I used a glass cleaner, and the finish is marred. The door alarm works for the right door, and the freezer, but not the left door, which is the easiest to get stuck ajar.

The unit arrived WITHOUT a filter installed, and nothing to indicate the same, so it wasn’t until the reminder came up and I went to replace it that I saw nothing in there. No wonder the water tasted lousy.

I bought a full suite, DW, Range, Microwave and this fridge. The microwave downlights (over range model) are all but useuless, tehy are so DIM, no excuse for LED bulbs not to be better. The range has the same craptastic fake steel trim, that was also damaged during cleaning, but much worse, so much so that I demanded Costco replace it.

I didn’t spend 2500 on a range to look like crap within a month of buying it. The enamel lip around the range already has chips. I don’t have kids, I treat my things with care, it’s unthinkable that the finishes are so shabby.

and this was after the oven failed to preheat within a week of receiving it.

We love this refrigerator, BUT, this is the second one (same model) to break in 5 years! First one started to not make ice and losing temperature right after the warranty expired. Paid for repairman but they couldn’t fix and $1300 later they declared it a lemon so we could buy another one at a discount.

We bought another one same model brand new AND this time paid for extended warranty (giving us 4 years). Our new refrigerator was delivered on 8-17-18 and believe it or not on 8-17-2022 we notice it was no longer making ice or dispensing water.

I called the warranty department and was informed that the warranty expired on 8-16-22!! How that date was determined, they could not answer. Once again we ordered it online on 7-18-18 and it was delivered 8-17-18….

Why did our expensive 4-yr warranty for our expensive refrigerator end on 8-16-22???? No we are faced with paying for repairman again!!! Really? What’s the odds that our warranty expired the day before, twice in a row? AND why didn’t the warranty start on the day we took delivery of our refrigerator??!! We love this refrigerator; too bad it keeps breaking… unfortunately since they won’t stand behind their product and wouldn’t help us or even explain we will not buy another one.

PS we did just buy a Whirlpool dishwasher (hope that works more than a year…). Whirlpool if you are reading this I would appreciate an explanation and an proper warranty expiration date – 4 years from the date of delivery – not 4 years from the day before!!.

We decided to sell our old refrigerator, which was still working pretty well, but was starting to show its age, about 10 years old. Prices have gone up in that time, a lot. This fridge was the same exact cubic ft.

, and less features, but cost well over $300 more! So, was it worth it? Jury is still out. The former fridge came with an ice maker which we did not connect. This one did not have that. Other than that they were very similar.

The produce drawers at the bottom have a cheap, chintzy, plasticy feel, like they are less durable and could break easier. The other drawers were more solid and seemed more durable, less likely to break.

This unit is noisier, by far. It’ll make gurgling sounds for a good long time every so often. If you are looking for a quiet unit, this is not it. The layout is slightly different in that it is wider, yet shorter, which my wife likes, as she is 5’2”.

It holds the same amount as the previous fridge, but does not accommodate a big turkey very easily, which was disappointing. You can’t adjust the shelves to make that easier. The door, however is better and can hold large beverage bottles like gallons, but we stick with half gallons.

The butter storage is bigger and has a closing lid. The wide glass shelves are strong, tempered glass, but because they are wider, they can be stocked with more items, which makes me a tad nervous that they could catastrophically fail at some point if inadvertently overloaded.

So, the noise it makes, frequent and substantial, as well as the shelf configuration being suboptimal, plus the dramatically higher price means it couldn’t earn five stars. But because it works as it should, and we haven’t had any freezing issues in the refrigeration section like we did with the old one (so far), I could only deduct one star, but it should be 3.

5 stars. The guys at Best Buy damaged the entryway to the kitchen while bringing it in, even though we pre-measured and said the doors would need to come off first, causing $250 in damage, which was amicably settled, eventually, and doesn’t affect this rating, but was a concern.

The Pros: Good storage space for my needs. Well lit inside the fridge compartment. Bins inside are handy. Pretty quiet. Temperature is where it should be on this one. Frost does not seem to build up in freezer, but keeps food icy cold.

Door seal is really solid. Nice looking fridge. The Cons: No light in freezer compartment (the fridge part is very nicely lit, though. ) Difficult to clean condenser coils, but idk of any fridge where that is easy to get to.

Kick plate on bottom is tricky to put back on. Just takes a bit of patience. But i will only remove it once or twice a year to clean out the house dust behind it. This is the second Whirlpool i have owned of the same model.

The first one i had trouble keeping the temperature steady below 40 F in the fridge compartment, unless i put it on coldest setting (most snowflakes) and rushed to take items out to close the door quickly.

The freezer was always cold though. The first one also made rather bizarre sounds occasionally when running (for a few minutes and not constantly. ) This second one has a different thermostat with LED lights instead of the snowflake dial of the first one i had.

and this one keeps the temp nice and steady cold in both freezer and fridge and Does Not make cRaZy, mysterious noises on occasion and this runs runs a lot quieter than the first one i had. So overall, i’m very happy that i bought the same model and so far it’s been “groovy.
