20 Best 36 Inch Gas Cooktop (2022 Updated)

1st knob broke 1 week after 1st use, then the others followed 2-3 weeks apart until I was left with no knobs. As if cheap and easily broken wasn’t bad enough, the replacements are a rediculous $60+ “each”! If you reach out to Frigidaire for help, you’ll get an email asking for more details, as if they don’t already know, plus how much more does one need? It’s broken, durr.

Called into NFM support for help, was told a replacement would be ordered, but 2 months later, nothing. Anyhow, you have only yourself to rely on, so here’s what I did: gluing or taping won’t be enough, so, assuming you have all the pieces, get yourself a small hose clamp.

from your local hardware store, then hold the pieces together and slowly clamp down with a screwdriver or nutdriver. Careful not to overtighten, as you already know, it’s all cheap and the inside insert that grasps the gas control can easily bend out of shape; clamp just tight enough that the outer housing stays in place, then give it another 1/8 of a turn.

This should be enough to slide back into place. If it slips on way too easy, consider tighten more until you experience a slight hesitation and you push the knob back into place. Good luck and sorry you too are dealing with this.

Coming from electric, I can say that this definitely heats and cooks faster. I had thought that gas was supposed to hear more evenly, but I don’t find this to be the case. Definitely a bit of a pain to clean vs a flat cook top, but once you’ve taken off the pan holders it’s fairly smooth for wiping down.

The griddle that came with it is really rough! Shredded the paper towel I was trying to use to spread the vegetable oil on to season it. On to the good things. Lights fast and reliably. Great materials for construction.

Knobs are hefty, the racks above the burners are cat iron out something and they have little silicone feet on them to make it so they don’t clang on the base. The knobs have little silicone gaskets on them so they quietly go back on after cleaning.

Really ups the lux feel.

I purchased the Frigidaire FPGC3677RS Cooktop to replace my 10 year old GE Profile (JUNK) cooktop after numerous months of due diligence. The deciding factors were the reviews and an additional $300 rebate for the Frigidaire FPGC3677RS Cooktop.

I contacted the retailer prior to purchase to inquire if I made the purchase though them if the purchase qualitied for the $300 rebate and they assured me that they were an authorized Frigidaire dealer and it would.

NOT THE CASE, when I attempted to submit for the $300 rebate I was rejected thus my disappointment that I HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED CORRECTLY from the dealer. As a result the Cooktop cost me $300 more than expected however, I am happy with the cooktop but not happy that it cost me $300 more then I was expecting.

Long and the short of it is Buyer beware of the Frigidaire offered rebate when you attempt to submit your rebate on-line even though you are informed by a supposedly FRIGIDAIRE authorized dealer that you DO!.

Replaced an older GE Monogram gas cooktop with this Frigidaire Professional model and wished we had sooner! Well thought out burner design and placement. Two equally sized burners on the left to accommodate a double burner griddle.

A large burner in the center so that fumes from searing can rise straight up to your hood. Minimum space occupied by control knobs to maximize cooking space. Continuous grates to eliminate pot or pan tipping.

The stainless steel is very easy to clean without streaks with just a damp cloth – no grooves or crevices to trap anything, even around the knobs. A great upgrade!.

My search for a great cooktop to replace my other would have been months shorter if the description of this one had mentioned it was black GLASS!! as it is the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of the 5 it deserves is because I would rather it was white glass.

This sucker is AWESOME in the way it cooks, cleans up, and looks. What more could you want? Controls in the middle are great for two cooks in the kitchen. I don’t use the center burner because it is the same as the right back one.

Don’t want to clean the grate, so I put a pretty bowl upside down over it. No problems. Then I can use the grate, it has rubber feet, on the countertop for an additional place to sit hot stuff. Use the cleaning creme as recommended and cleanup is a breeze.

Absolutely one of the best cooktops I’ve ever purchased. I had a preference for a glass top rather than stainless steel – so easy to keep clean and very sleek looking in black. I also liked that the grates are not as high – overall extremely pleased!!.

Really beautiful design and easy to clean. Our old range never could do really low heat, but this one does. Great product.

The cooktop is beautiful. However, the specs given to us were not accurate for installation. The installer had to come back a second time to cut notches into the countertop. That’s left us without a cooktop for a week.

We had to pay an extra fee to our person doing our kitchen I have $150. That is very disappointing and we should be refunded some money. The specs say A measurement but do not account for the extra notches on each side of the cooktop that protrude out.

We looked extensively at all the major brands and models of cooktops for our kitchen remodel. We finally settled on this one as it’s built with very high quality and the look and feel is great. Installation was a snap, fit and finish is great, and it really performs well.

The only issue is these are a bit of a unicorn when trying to buy one. Everyone is months out to get one because of the pandemic related supply chain issues. Hats off to BBuy as they got us one with only 5-6 weeks wait! You guys rock!.

This cooktop works well but not a great design. Five burners but could never use them all simultaneously. My All Clad griddle does not fit without hanging over the knobs rendering them white hot and therefore impossible to use.

I had no issue on my previous 4 burner stove since knobs were located in the middle.

Cooktop was installed last month and we have been very happy with it. We haven’t tried the ultra low heat function, yet, as the range from High to Low on all burners have been great. I do a lot of Asian stir fries, and they have come out wonderful including fried rice.

The rice didn’t get burnt and didn’t come out mushy even with adding frozen vegetables! It’s pretty easy to clean once cooled off a bit. The only thing is the grills are a bit heavy but fortunately it hasn’t been often that I forget I’m making soup or boiling milk.

And I have once over boiled grits and still wiped off completely using a kitchen towel and a little elbow grease!.

It certainly does what it is supposed to, but keeping a stainless steel cooktop clean is problematic. In fact, keeping SS appliances, in general, takes effort. Looks great, but the cleaning is a pain.

The first unit delivered was missing parts from the box and had stains. Some residue from manufacturing. The installation guys installed it anyway and made brackets from plumbing strap. A non-professional install.

I called BestBuy to complain about the issues. They scheduled a return and new install. The second unit had all of the parts in the box. The unit was clean. The installers did an excellent job. IN the end, other than cleaning, we are happy with the product.

This is an exact replacement for a 10 year old one that was dying. The Thermador microwave only lasted 5 years. But we are sticking with Thermador. This unit went in fairly easily. It was owner installed.

Nervous about working with gas but with only one new part needed no leaks on the first try. Don’t know why but the male gas port on the cooktop was a different size than the Thermador it replaced. Worked correctly right out of the box.

Very simple installation. One person installed it.

This gas cooktop by Samsung is the best one so far I ever owned because of the heat capability, and solid grates. The black stainless steel is a plus cosmetic wise and so far is easy to clean. The included cast iron griddle retains nice heat for pancakes.

I do wok cook a lot, and the high heat output is nice, but really rocks is the central location of the wok burner which keeps oil from splattering on the surrounding countertop and backsplash. The blue LED lighted knobs adds a wow factor.

I cannot address the WiFi function because it arrived broken (Best Buy will replace when another unit becomes available). The real judge is my wife and she loves it. Only possible issue is the right front burner generates so much heat, I am not sure it could eventually crack the surrounding marble countertop.

Very happy with this cooktop. It cooks hot, and evenly. I like that the grills on top do a good job of supporting the pots and pans so they don’t tip (things were tippy on my old one unless you oriented the handles just so).

I had to remove the wifi unit that sticks out in back to get it to fit. There wasn’t enough room between the back of the unit and the backsplash with it mounted. The cooktop comes with a plug to put in the hole where the wifi was removed.

Who needs wifi on a cooktop anyway? On the downside, I paid BestBuy to do the install and haul away. The contractor they hired to do it delivered the unit, said he needed a part, and never came back.

After repeated phone calls I gave up after a couple of days and went to Lowes and bought the part (an elbow connector for $9) and installed it myself (It was easy). I went back to BestBuy and they refunded the money for the install, but I’m guessing the contractor got paid anyway, which kind of ticks me off.

first, the good news. the cooktop cooks very well. but the knobs are so brittle. our began breaking within 6 months of getting the cooktop and we made the mistake of repairing them. they continued to break and by the time we contacted samsung we were told it was out of warranty and they offered no help.

replacement knobs are ridiculously priced at more than $150 each. we now have 4 semi-functional knobs for a 5 burner cooktop and all four are broken and hanging on by a thread. it is a built in unit, so simply replacing the unit with another brand is rather expensive.

we have two samsung tvs, a samsung refrigerator and other samsung appliances, but this experience has made us reconsider our samsung allegiance.

I purchased this cooktop to replace a 2005 GE profile cooktop that lasted nearly 15 years until my cleaning service shorted out the wiring harness. What I love about GE, is that I could’ve easily just replaced the wiring harness and continue using my old cooktop.

Parts are readily available. But what I love even better about GE, is that the new cooktop is a significant improvement over the old one and fit exactly in the same location. I was able to install it myself in less than 45 minutes.

Even better, I could not find the cooktop anywhere at a local appliance store in till March, but GE was able to get one to me directly by the end of December. Amazing!.

There are a lot of things to love about this cooktop: it fits perfectly into the opening for our old 4 burner GE product; it was very easy to hook up; it is good looking and has dressed up our kitchen tremendously; the burners are really adjustable, not like our previous model, and the lighted control knobs are easy to see when the kitchen is dark I’m stumbling to bed.

The cooktop arrived with a hairline scratch and what appears to be a smudge which cannot be removed. Two imperfections but visible only at certain angles. We can live with them. What is really annoying and a problem is keeping it clean.

The slightest splatter turns into a smear and I find myself removing pots from the grid to add ingredients or stir the contents just to avoid. a drip from a pot’s top. Sometimes I interrupt the cooking process just to wipe up a droplet before it bakes on.

Still, I wouldn’t trade the cooktop for anything. It’s perfect-almost.

Our old gas stovetop stopped working and we had to replace it. We purchased a Kitchenaid, had it installed, and my husband and I both disliked it (although it took us a week to admit it out loud to each other).

The knobs were straight across the front and we found we lost a lot of cook space. You couldn’t have two medium pans on the front and back burner at the same time. After days of research and most stovetops being out of stock, my husband found this one.

We’ve had it for about a month and have ZERO complaints. For the first week or two we would both randomly say “I’m so glad we didn’t keep the first one”. We love how the knobs are clustered in the front and that they light up.

The lettering is easy to read and stands out. The griddle feature with the same size burners is genius. The black covers on the burners are easier to clean than other brands. We are so happy we returned the first stovetop we purchased and bought this one instead.

This was included with our new construction home and LOOKS like such a luxury. It is an absolute pain to cook with if you want to keep it clean. The grates are odd surfacd angles for small pans and very heavy to lift.

They are made of a scratchy iron so can’t be placed easily in the sink without scratching, can’t be easily placed on the counter without scratching, and frankly can barely be set back onto the stove without scratching the stainless steel.

Why in the world would a company choose to make a stainless cooktop that stains from water, scratches if you knock into it with a plastic spoon or RUB the wrong way while cleaning, and if you leave spatter overnight, will leave irremovable spots? It is a giant ordeal to constantly keep clean, even from water droplets, and the flame covers fall off and scratch the thing if you bump them with a rag.

We’ve been here less than 2 months with it brand new and it’s got scratches and spots all over, despite being careful and thorough with cleaning. It’s going to cost an arm and a leg to replace, but cooking has become so frustrating.

I hate being afraid of ruining the look of our brand new appliance just by cooking and cleaning (with stainless steel cleaner and a soft rag). I miss my glass cooktop and hope no one on purpose buys this fickle apparatus.

We bought this for our new house. We loved the design & features it offered. However, the one we received was a only for looks!! While 4 of the 5 burners worked great, the middle burner exploded on me while cooking on our first night of using this particular burner.

It was deemed a manufacturer’s defect by the gas company & removed from use. Now, I’m speaking from a bad experience my wife & I have had but to add to this issue, the methods Whirlpool has of resolving this is beyond belief!! We are now forced to wait until one of their technicians can come out & diagnose the same problem that has already been mentioned & due to the shortage of workers, we are gonna wait for nearly 2 months before we can have anything started to be resolved.

Unfortunately, I was only provided one rating so I will give them 1 star for looks but nothing more!! So if you’re wanting a nice looking appliance with the possibility of not using it, then this would be a nice addition.

This was the cooktop that I got with my house. I love there are 5 burners! The middle one is the super hot one that really makes the pan screaming hot. The one in the top right is the one that has a melt setting.

I have used it for making soups and melting cheese. I mostly use the center burner. If you want a griddle you can purchase that separately, not included. I like that each section grate can be flipped up for quick cleaning beneath.

If you want a deeper clean, you can remove each section easily and give them a good scrub. I like the ease of the one surface area and not having to worry about each burner having their own heat element, really allows to change up what you put on the surface.

You can use it as a warmer if the pan is small enough to be placed in between and not directly on the burner. The complaints that brings this rating down is that the burner to the height of the grate is too high, so it takes a long time to get the pan hot.

Also the placement of the buttons right in front makes is impossible to keep these clean. If you do not coo a lot, this is a great cooktop. But if you cook a lot then the cons can get frustrating.

I would give this a 5 star review except fir the fact they blitz you with unwanted emails if you register your product using the automated system. The burners are widely spaced giving ample room for a combination of pot sized at once.

Knobs are solid. Burners ignite quickly and burn cleanly. 2 things I do not like. The igniter activates when you press the knob down, no matter where the knob is at. It would be easy to shock yourself if you are leaning over the stove to clean.

Second is that when you unpack it, the burners are well hidden / camoflauged in the bottom of the box. After searching for a hour, 5 different people checking, we had to call the appliance store to find out where they were at.

I love my new cooktop. The grates fit perfectly together, and I like the fact that they are continuous. The cleanup is also not bad as some reviews had mentioned. I’m also not sure what some reviewers saw in mentioning that the flame was too low to adequately cook or even boil water in their cookware, I have not found this to be the case at all.

I also like the fact that the knobs are metal and low enough where the pots do not bump them while moving them around in cooking. The knobs do not get hot even though they are metal and bigger pots on the front burners overlap them a little.

Some other brands have knobs that are plastic painted with a stainless steel finish and sit higher than the grates. I can see how this would be a problem with those brands with peeling and melting as some reviews described.

I’ve only had my cooktop a month but love the look and functionality so far. We replaced a 22 year old cooktop (GE) with this Kitchenaid and had to have a professional cut about a 1/4 inch on one side of the granite.

It was not as big a deal as we had thought. Make sure to look at the ‘minimum’ dimensions for the cutout on your countertop (there is a minimum, recommended, and maximum). It avoided us having to cut into the countertop on 2 sides instead of just the one.

Loved this model in my last home so we purchase again in our new home when we moved and did a kitchen reno. What a mistake. 2 repairmen have been out to adjust flames that will not go down. It is Feb and 3rd man just came out to my home.

He had to order a special screwdriver from Amazon as what is needed is so tiny and thin that is why it hasn’t been adjusted properly. Was told even with proper screwdriver, he doesn’t know if it can be done as it might be so flimsy that he might not be able to adjust with such a thin driver.

I guess I will see when he returns. Such drama, 5 burners, and only 1 simmers. Longtime Kitchenaid Appliance customer, if this doesn’t work, it is going back.

Great cooktop. Looks and cooks great! This cooktop replaced our old KitchenAid gas cooktop (20+ years old). We wanted a gas on glass cooktop and there are not a lot to chose from. Looked at a lot of local and online dealers and Best Buy had the stove we wanted that others did not.

Size was a little different than the stove we replaced, but we were able to make it work. The stove has some power to it! The main burner can quickly bring a pot to boil or stir fry with ease. Working well so far and it is easy to keep clean.

It is really a good looking cooktop. Black glass with some chrome accents on knobs. The grates are heavy duty. We went with the four-burner because the five-burner in this size seemed a bit cramped. The plus side is that there is an open area of grate in the back that is perfect for resting a hot pan.

It is replacing an old KitchenAid gas on glass cooktop, hope it will last as long as the last one did!.

This is the fourth time I’ve had problems with the electric ignition in four years. If you aren’t standing over the burner at all times – turn it off do what you have to do and then turn it back on. Boil overs and sparking are a major problem and not something you can trust a child with.

I had an older model KA cooktop where I could just lift the top, clean out the burner housing and then replace the top – it was the best, never a problem never needed a service visit. This unit I am either turning off the electricity and gas to let the wires dry out or I’m calling for service a couple of times a year.

This is a major flaw and KA needs to offer deep disounts so people can replace with safer model. KA should be contacting us – not us having to contact them on this issue as it will happen to every owner at some point.

I’ve owned this cooktop for a year and a half now, and I am very pleased with it. The cooking power and control are excellent. I also find it fairly easy to keep looking nice. At first it seemed cumbersome to lift the large grates, but now I’m used to it.

By having a flat surface, the glass is easily kept shiny and clean with just soap and water. The grates clean up well. The burners are a little more work since baked-on oil can leave marks. At first, I had issue with the flame on the biggest burner (lower left) taking too long to light and bursting out with a giant flame.

After it was adjusted by an appliance tech, which KitchenAid paid for, the issue went away. Just turn the dial until it starts to click, take your hand away, and it will light safely. One last note, I had a Jenn-Air cooktop before, and this one required a larger opening to be cut out from my counter, which was an upcharge by the installer.

Love the different selection of burners but I find it hard to use with multiple pots cooking at the same time because the handles on the pots either don’t all fit or they start getting very hot, especially the middle burner because there is nowhere for that handle to go.

Also, I have a GE microwave above the stovetop and the heat travels to the handle of the microwave which gets extremely hot. That was a big unexpected when I went to open the microwave not realizing the handle would be so hot! A bit cumbersome to clean since you have to remove the racks each time to get to the base of the cooktop.

Not a huge deal but just needs getting used to it. Lastly the Knobs started losing there stainless steel finish in less than a month! When I called the store where purchased they said they would replace them.

Cooktop steel surface keep getting scratches by its own grates. There should be proper cushioning between grates and cooktop to avoid such scratches. Customer service said that’s cosmetic and they can not do anything about it.

But it’s not even a month we moved in and I hardly cooked as was busy with moving. Also knobs started peeling it’s steel color. They are plastic and silver colored. Customer service sent me four new knobs for five burner cooktop and they also started loosing color.

Only way to keep it in good condition is stop using it.

We replaced our older GE Induction Cooktop to this Gas Cooktop and love how the fit was perfect. No modifications needed! That was a sigh of relief knowing that I didn’t have to spend anymore just to install it.

There was a height difference from our old cooktop to this one, but it was no more than an inch higher so it didn’t look too bulky. My only two concerns, and the reason for the 4 stars, was that the knobs felt cheap and could easily break if accidentally hit by a pan or pot.

My last cooktop had metal knobs covered by plastic and this cooktop only has plastic knobs. I will say though that my last cooktop was a GE Profile Cooktop so that could be the reason for nicer knobs.

My other concern was that this cooktop did not come with some sort of gasket or seal with the product. Without it, the cooktop slides around as the hole was maybe 1/4 wider than the actualy cooktop base.

I know a gasket could be purchased separately, but for a few more dollars, GE could have included one that fit perfectly to this cooktop. Aside from that, I love this gas cooktop. I ended up purchasing the griddle to go with this product and love how the grates and the griddle feel very “heavy-duty” and could last a very long time!.

I have had my cooktop for 10 months. Cooking features with the different burner sizes and output is wonderful. Love cooking with gas. Love cooking on this cooktop. Also love the grates and how heavy duty they are and look.

Love the illumination of the burners to show that the burners are on. However, with the price point and high end reputation with Cafe Appliances, I am very disappointed in how easily this cooktop scratches.

I have followed the cleaning according to the guidelines, but it is next to impossible to clean around the knobs in the direction of the grain to get in between and around the knobs, which has left several scratches, no matter how careful I am.

I use a microfiber cloth and have been extremely careful with light wiping. The smallest grain of salt (which you use all of the time to cook with) will leave horrible scratches. The amount of time that I spend just to prep the cooktop for cleaning (spray it down with water and dish soap to dissolve everything, shine a light to make sure there is no small food particles, or anything in sight left behind, is ridiculous for this busy mom.

It is very frustrating that my new cafe appliance that I spent extra on for the Cafe experience and name looks scratched and worn in my brand new kitchen remodel, even with my careful care and cleaning.

This was installed as the “top-tier” builder upgrade option in my new build home. We paid extra for the Cafe line thinking it would be superior to the other GE options. This has proven to be a waste of money and an entirely different product than the non-builder grade Cafe line.

This was installed in July 2021 and it’s already so worn that it looks worse than my parent’s 20-yr old cooktop by a competitor. It’s just my husband and I cooking, lightly, for 2 people in the last 9 months.

The silver coating on the knobs are all peeling off, exposing the cheap white plastic underneath. The burn caps and black grates stain easily and are impossibly to clean and restore. Plus, even if I wanted to replace the knobs (which should be covered under warranty and I refused to pay $200 for cheap, white plastic knobs), they’re sold out AND not even sold in the right number needed for my cooktop (linked accessories on the cooktop page are for 6 knobs, not 5 like I need).

I gave it 2 stars because it ignites, but based on the quality of the product I’d give it 1 star or less. If given the option, do not “upgrade” to this product. We’re thinking we’ll have to replace it relatively soon (with a different brand, no less).

#1 reason is for an easier surface to clean when there are drips and spills. The continuous “basin” provides that, along with easy to clean under the removable burners. #2 is the gas shut off switch that provides extra protection should earthquake happen (we have them here) along with not accidentally turning on a burner.

#3 are the variety of burner sizes and capabilities for those times one needs different cooking strengths at the same time. #4 the griddle fits snugly over the 2 left burners with a “catch” groove so the fat doesn’t overflow, #5 the grates over the entire unit fit snugly, yet are easy to lift and clean as necessary.

This is a response to my initial review: Kitchenaid replied to my first negative review to contact them for assistance. Which is just a way to make it look like they care or are really interested in helping you.

All they offered me was a link to troubleshoot issues. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TROBLESHOOTING, THE ENTIRE DESIGN OF THE COOKTOP NEEDS TO BE DONE. The engineers dropped the ball on this one big time and the only way to learn this is by having the cooktop installed and used, in less than a week I knew this – and unfortunately once you’ve paid and installed it KITCHENAID WILL DO NOTHING to help remedy the issue.

Buyer beware, almost all the positive reviews on here are INCENTIVIZED – notice the honest ones with low ratings are honest truthful reviews. -original review for reference- As much as I’d like to say I love this cooktop, I simply am not able to.

I wish I had read reviews prior to purchasing this product. The height from the burner to the top of the stovetop grate is too high/far and it takes double the time my old cooktop would to bring a pot of water to boil and it also makes keeping things at a low simmer very difficult.

I’m using more gas and time for a simple task and I’m very dissatisfied. Kitchenaid needs to better design the cooktop to decrease the space between the burner and grate. I’ve owned this cooktop for a month, I noticed this issue the first week of use.

I’m so unhappy with the product, I’d rather pay to purchase a new different brand cooktop than continue to use this one. I upgraded my entire kitchen with all Kitchenaid products, spending nearly $14,000 – but having my cooktop brand mismatched at this point is a better option than keeping this one.

My 87 year old mother loves cooking on the cooktop. However, there are two non-cooking issues we have with it. It is difficult to see the writing that indicates which knob goes with which burner and the fire level.

The writing is very light and should be darker. No solution was offered to me for this problem. The second problem is cleaning the stainless steel. Because the cooktop was installed before all construction was done, sawdust fell onto the stainless top.

The stainless steel surface still feels gritty after using only soap and water to clean it. After several cleanings it appears that that gritty feeling is the way the stainless steel will feel after cleaning.

It is annoying because you wipe and wipe and expect the grittiness to go away and it doesn’t. I called customer service for their insight and the person I spoke to was very nice and is sending a stainless steel cleaner.

But she also said there might be a defect in the stainless steel. However, because we complained of this problem after 30 days we would have to pay for a technician to come out to investigate. We did not install the cooktop right after it was delivered because the kitchen was not finished and with the difficulty of getting appliances during and after COVID we opted to have it delivered when Best Buy had an opening and then it sat in the box until the counter was ready.

Then we had to wait at least two weeks for Best Buy to return to install it plus complete the rest of the kitchen work. I suggested to customer service that complaints like be given a 60 to 90 day window to allow for the situation that happened in our case.

So now we have to live with the possibility that our stainless steel could be defective. I recommend this product with the exceptions mentioned in this review. I’m still unhappy that Kitchen Aid won’t try to rectify this problem and investigate to see if the stainless is defective.

Future customers of this product please be aware of the 30 day window in similar situations such as ours.

We purchased this cooktop but due to Covid, it was not installed until several months later. Once we started using it, we discovered it was extremely difficult to clean. The stainless steel was very rough and would pull the fibers away from the cloth and leave fuzz on the top.

I checked several store displays and they all had very smooth stainless. I called customer service and explained the issue. I was told that after 30 days from purchase, if the cooktop functions, everything else is considered cosmetic and not covered under the warranty.

I again explained the excessive roughness of the stainless. They repeated the policy, stating that poor workmanship and defective materials were cosmetic issues. I was stunned that defective materials were considered cosmetic.

I pushed the case that not being able to clean the top was part of the functionality. At this point they became arrogant, refused to connect me to a supervisor and asked if they should read me the warranty.

That ended the call. We now have a very expensive cooktop that is extremely difficult to clean due to defective materials, which Kitchenaid considers cosmetic! Sad that a company doesn’t care about selling products made from defective materials.

Again, if you buy this or any Whirlpool product, triple check everything before your 30 days expires, or you will also be stuck with a defective unit and no recourse!.

I just moved into a brand new house and am replacing this stove top. The design is terrible. Why would the big burners be in the back? I cook all the time and I’m really struggling with this, I could count on one hand how often I use the simmer burner and it’s in the front.

I have trouble frying eggs evenly. The knobs are way too high. Every time something touches them a burner goes on. Im a senior and this scares me. Also, I can’t get the sticker off the front right burner.

Im afraid I’m going to scratch all the stainless steel. This product definitely needs a redesign.

This was a warranty replacement. I was thinking it wouldn’t be as good as the original but it is much better. I love cooking/eating bacon and the splattered grease can be difficult to clean up as it tends to smear streaks on the surface.

But this new cooktop is very easy to clean, the grates are not as heavy as the previous one and the surface just wipes clean with a paper towel and leaves on grease residue.

This is a great looking stove top. But there are two design issues. First the main burner is at the back, which made cooking not very convenient. Second, the distance between the burner and grates is too big.

This causes not only less efficient cooking, but also surrounding areas so hot. The handle in microwave above the stove is too hot to touch. The stove came with the house purchased 5 months ago. Now I need to replace it due to these two issues unless I can get different grate to lower the grate height to solve ine issue.

I purchased this Jenn Air Cooktop in January 2022 & had it installed in July 2022. It has worked great ever since! Cleanup is simple & the cook dials are 100 percent stainless steel –so no plastic that can melt & leave the dials useless! I would definately purchase again:).

My new oven cooks so beautifully! Temperature controls are accurate , and I can choose precisely what food is being cooked, so items are cooked to perfection. The control display is fun, being able to choose different pictures for the season.

I do not like the rotary controls however. They make choosing a given setting cumbersome and time consuming. The convection microwave has many choices for cooking, but the pull down door makes it difficult to access food to check for doneness, or for cleaning up.

Again, the rotary dial feature is time consuming.

My previous experience with an electric JennAir Stove/Cooktop led me to purchase this gas cooktop. Am I glad I did! Self Installation was easy, and performance exceeds the Thermador Cooktop that I replaced.

From precise simmer control that won’t scald to quick water boiling for pasta, this cooktop allows for extreme versatility. Looking forward to purchasing other JennAir appliances as I upgrade my kitchen!.

Recently purchased this as a replacement for a 20 year old Jenn-Aire downdraft. Cooking is such a pleasure now due to the following features: You can turn the burners all the way down (to simmer) without worrying that the flame will go out.

The continuous grates allow you to slide pots with ease and provide more surface area to rest hot pans while they cool. The large center double ring burner quickly heats a wok for stir frying or large pot of water for pasta.

The burner caps are easily removed for more thorough cleaning. The brushed stainless surface cleans beautifully after cooling with just a spritz of vinegar water and a microfiber cloth or a little dish soap and water.

The stainless metal knobs are sturdy and sleek; and provide precision control without any worry about melting. The included cast iron griddle that can sit over the top 2 left burners is also an appreciated feature for this cook who regularly makes pancakes.

I have had one of the rubber bumpers come out of its hole on the cooktop when I moved the grates for cleaning, but it was easily reseated.

Only used this cooktop for two days and already notice a huge difference compared to our old high end cooktop! The burners are sophisticated; you can dial them down to just about nothing and it holds steady (no fluttering as though it’s about to go out).

Water boils so fast! The grates are nice and beefy- you can slide pots and pans around. We can’t fit a 36 inch cooktop in our counter so you do have to manage your burners when doing a big cooking production on a 30 inch cook top.

The five burners really makes managing the cook top so much easier. I did most of my tomato sauce using the middle burner and when it was done and ready for simmer I put it to the right back, then used the left front to cook my lasagna noodles.

Even got a pot on the right front to do another pan of noodles. NICE!.

The cook top is beautiful. We’ve been using it for just a few weeks now. It works as expected and we are adjusting to the differences from our old cook top. A number of concerns have arisen, however, that have disappointed us in our choice: 1.

It is difficult to keep clean. The directions are clear about using only soapy water to clean it. Doing so leaves a lot of streaking and doesn’t work to remove food stains, particularly on the lower rings surrounding the burners.

2. The grills do not sit level: The overall unit sits level on the counter, but the grill prongs do not all sit level. We’ve carefully checked the level of the entire cook top to assure our countertop level is not the issue.

Pans wobble on the burner, and when oil is added, it puddles on one side of the pan. Nothing we can’t overcome, but it’s not a good quality of workmanship. 3. The black finish on the grills is wearing off: We’ve noted that the black finish on the grills is wearing off, despite the short time we’ve been using the cook top.

When we bought it, we thought the grills were made of solid black cast iron, but it appears that under the black finish is a silver metal. I can only imagine what it will look like in a year’s time. 4.

A minor thing that we should have noted when we bought it: There are no numbers on the control dials. I’m sure we’ll adjust, but it’s nice to be able to remember a number setting for cooking certain foods.

Summary: We’re having a service person come out this week to look at these issues, and we hope some of them may be remedied. Overall, we’re worried that we’ve spent a lot of money on a product we’re going to be disappointed in over time.

I ordered the f&P gas cooktop from Appliances Online for a great price. Unfortunately the measurements were wrong and I had to return the cooktop unopened. When I was organizing the return (which was easier than I thought it would be) I was told that I would receive a credit.

So the next time I want something from them I have to call and hope that my credit is there. this makes me uncomfortable that I just have $700 odd in their hands waiting for one day that I might use it.

Its the first time I used them so I’m not really happy.

Pros: We like the central hub design. Cons: Thicker gauge steel for the surround plate.

Easy to clean and use, this stove top delivers even instant heat. The top has a variety of options including large, small and wok burner jets. The installer took no time at all and as it’s a standard size it fitted in the existing space with no adjustment.

The controls are easily visible and accessible down the side of the unit. Very good buy!.
