20 Best 360 Reality Audio App (2022 Updated)

The hardware looks and sounds amazing and is extremely easy to put together and operate. Given it’s looks, it’s a classy piece of interior decor which just happens to also be a great sounding speaker.

Operating it while using physical touch buttons on top of the device is easy and assisted with brilliant, bright, and colour coded LED lights. If you want to operate it from a distance, you must have the device connected to your Wi-Fi network and set up in either the Sony Music Centre app or the Google Home app.

And this is really where the disappointment begins. I bought 10 units to add to my Sony wireless multiroom set up, hoping use wireless streaming across rooms and to compliment my HT-Z9RF soundbars; only to discover that the only way to group these speakers is to use Alexa/Google Home/Chromecast built in.

Two major issues result from this: 1) Sony’s own wireless multiroom capability supports Dolby Atmos, but Chromecast built in does not. This means that any high quality audio streaming subscriptions you may have, e.

g. Tidal Hi-Fi, will only ever stream up to CD quality, not Atmos or MQA. What’s worse is that Sony’s own 360 Reality Audio suffers as a result of this. You can only ever cast 360 Reality Audio to a single device, it doesn’t work if streaming across multiple speakers/rooms using Chromecast built in.

How could Sony have missed this and handicapped their own hardware. Seems like a ridiculous thing to miss. This is despite having the device listed as supported by Music Center on the website. What is the point of this device being supported if the very function it’s meant to perform is compromised.

2) I do not want to use Amazon or Google’s software to manage my Sony devices. The whole point of getting these was to avoid Google/Amazon data harvesting for one. Yes they have them inbuilt but so do the soundbars and one can easily avoid using them by using Sony’s Wireless Multiroom function but these speakers don’t support Sony’s own wireless multiroom functionality.

This is a huge miss at this price point. I paid hoping for privacy but this situation just pours water all over it. Sony, if you ever read these reviews and bother with taking on feedback, then please figure out a way of extending Wireless Multiroom to these devices.

There is no other way to justify this price point otherwise. Sony still do fantastic audio, but desperately need to catch up in the software department or risk being the next Kodak.

This is my review of Sony’s SRS-RA3000 Wireless speaker. Initial impression was very good. Nicely packaged, and the product seems sturdy and well-made although the aesthetics may not be to everyone’s taste.

The onboard controls are responsive, and everything feels well laid-out. Installing the iOS app was simple but pairing and setting up took 3 goes to work but once done the app seems competent but you are not likely to use it.

Most people I suspect will use it as a Bluetooth speaker or as a Spotify Connect device. It works seamlessly with both. Pairing with Alexa was very simple too. Initial assessment of the sound quality however was disappointing.

I ran the speaker for 24 hours at half volume to run-in. Immersive Audio Enhancement really needs to be switched off to get any clarity to the audio and it is on by default. I found Auto Volume needs to be switched off for Spotify Connect volume control and it is on by default.

I was not sure what to expect from a product at this price point, so I compared it directly with wireless speakers costing £25, £150, and £600; this Sony sitting between the £150 and £600 price points.

Despite the SRS-RA3000 having the obvious advantage of size over the £150 speaker I compared it with, the cheaper device clearly outperformed the Sony in clarity, presentation and soundstage although of course the Sony was very much more able to fill the room.

There may be many features which you could use to select a wireless speaker, but for me the sound quality vs price comes first, and despite being a fan of Sony equipment for decades, this speaker disappoints.

There is little clarity at any part of the frequency range and at higher volumes the sound becomes very compressed. I suspect this is simply the limiter in the DSP protecting the drivers, but it is not subtle.

I have some great kit ranging from sub £100 smart speakers through 1980s separates to modern British HiFi costing thousands and I understand what is possible across a range of kit and the Sony SRS-RA3000 unfortunately does not acquit itself well.

Perhaps I’m spoilt but I feel other speakers in this market at this price point do better. It is possible of course that the unit I reviewed is not representative for some reason, but based on the one I tested, focussing on sound quality, I could award 2/5 at best.

With the Immersive Audio Enhancement turned off this is very well rounded speaker. Up to sensible volumes there is no lack of bass, giving much larger systems a run for their money. The mids really shine in my opinion.

I find a lot of speakers of this type process the sound too much, leaving the experience lacking in clarity. This speaker gives you the right amount of all the frequency needed to enjoy the music. The speaker can be used very quickly straight out the box by connecting directly via Bluetooth and the pairing process could not be any more simple.

However, using the correct Apps installed on your smartphone brings out a lot of very useful features that are a too good to be missed. By following the step by step guide in the operating instructions, the speaker will join your Wi-Fi and become a smart speaker (I did not read the instructions at first and got confused when things did not work as expected).

This will give you control from any voice activated device making it easy to stream music from your existing setup. My small smart speakers can now easily be told to play music out the SRS. At this stage you would have installed Sony Music Centre App on your smart phone and you will have access to some very important features.

The Immersive Audio Enhancement feature is set as default in the ON position. This has the effect of pushing the vocals back into the mix and creating a virtual sound stage. I find the clarity of the vocals is much more suited to my taste with this feature turned OFF.

The App also has a very capable equalizer giving fine controls over EQ. There are also pre-sets to help point you in the right direction of your preferred tone. This speaker has become an instant improvement in my smart speaker system.

Giving me easy access to a well rounded sound.

For an ambisonic microphone it’s really hard to beat this. The firmware compensates for orientation, and the recorder automatically converts to B-format. Integrates well with desktop software available from the manufacturer, too.

The device interface is familiar to anyone who has used a Zoom product in the last decade, but don’t let the retro screen fool you. They’ve clearly made improvements under the hood. Among these are the ability to use the recorder as a USB-powered desktop mic, and to transfer files stored on its microSD card via a USB connection.

When you account for all these features and the companion software, it’s hard to imagine doing quality VR sound for any cheaper. Great bang for your buck.

I just wanted to record dialogue of a bunch of people around a table. It might sound even better if they were closer but it has an impressive reach and sounds more than good enough more my purposes and budget right now.

Also love that it can pickup in 360, but record in binaural/stereo! Not even trying to do ambisonics at all.

I have a K2 Pro VR camera and always wanted to experiment with ambisonic audio but never jumped on the bandwagon due to all the options out there and quite frankly laziness to learn a new process. Boy was I wrong, the learning curve with this is so simply, specially if you use Premiere Pro that I felt ashamed I had put it off for so long.

That is of course without saying just how much immersion the audio from this thing adds to your VR production. Must have.

So I have been using this for almost a month now and love the fact that you can record videos in 360 degrees. You can also upload this and use it with Samsung Gear VR – Virtual Reality Headset to get the total package.

I would definitely get the headset to view the movies it gives an absolutely stunning viewing experience. The camera was basically plug and play straight out of the box. PC Software: There also was a small activation code inside the package to activate the Gear 360 software created by cyberlink that you are able to activate for post editing.

There you can add music and edit through your pc. If you have ever used power director you should not have a problem with this. I did have problems pulling the file directly to from the camera and running it through the software.

I fixed this by simply taking the file from the camera placing it on my desktop and then importing it into the 360 Gear software. From there you are able to edit and then upload to either you tube or facebook.

Phone Uploading: You can also directly upload from your phone to facebook which is also a nice feature. My videos upload quite fast from my phone. It would be nice if this was not so top heavy. But all and all this is a great camera for the price and I love to take it on my many adventures. The video’s I have captured are great and I have lots of fun making them.

The included tripod is practical but a bit on the short end when it comes to overhead video captures. It is a good little camera that is packed with excellence. I am definitely satisfied with this camera.

The Samsung Gear 360 is a fantastic piece of equipment with a few drawbacks, none of which would make me return it! Photos and videos are rather amazing and the thought of 360 videos blew my mind when viewing back what had been recorded on Facebook, YouTube and Google Cardboard and similar VR viewers.

I did feel rather self-conscious carrying the 360 around when testing it around London, Heathrow, Luxembourg and 5 parties! Especially when attached to an extended selfie stick. However I really did not have to as everyone was amazed at what it could do and was wondering where and when they could get one and/ or if they could get a video / photo of their group! A definite must have! The 360 comes in a cylindrical package with the standard Silver Samsung Gear and Shiny Blue 360 lettering.

Unpacking is a formality by removing the outer plastic wrap around skin and removing the side stickers. In the box is the 360 camera, mini tripod, charging cable, battery, carry strap, carry pouch, cloth, manuals and serial code for the Gear 360 ActionDirector software which can be downloaded from Samsungs website.

Interestingly the camera sits upon a plastic dome which can be used on the mini tripod to help hide your hand when holding the 360 or what is just below the 360 when on a table etc The 360 has two high resolution F2.

0 wide angle lenses which can be used alone or together when in photo, video, video loop or time lapse modes. (Photo 25. 9MP, Video 3840×1920) The 360 with mini tripod sits just 6cm above the surface so to improve the 360 image experience, you might want to use an extender or selfie stick which can be screwed into the mini tripod and camera, or even another tripod.

Failing that you can always buy the Samsung Gear 360 Camera Value Kit including a larger 19cm mini tripod, remote control, and two mounts, one for flat surfaces and one for curved surfaces, eg helmet.

The 360 has to be paired (Bluetooth/NFC/Wifi) with one only of the following mobile devices: Galaxy S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note5, which unfortunately limits the appeal to the general public.

When taking a picture/ video you can either use the 360 stand alone and the options are selected via a side button above the power button with the modes displayed on a mini screen on the top. To take a snap you just press the button on the top.

Helpfully the 360 gives 3 seconds with audible beeps before it sets into action. Or you can use the 360 mobile app which offers a Live View in either 360 degree or dual lens or panorama views to see what you are taking.

Likewisewhen you start to take a picture the 360 gives a 3 second audible count down until it gets into action, so make sure you take that into account! If you are into tinkering with your exposure etc prior to shooting you can alter the exposure, white balance and set to HDR mode, as well as changing the file size/ resolution and set a timer.

As both cameras/ lenses are on opposing sides of the 360 the exposure can be different and hence when the 360 picture/video is put together it can look a bit odd, however if you ensure you get a good balance of exposure for both cameras, ie by ensuring the side of the 360 is side on to the main light sources then the overall image will be excellent.

With most photos averaging 5-15mb and a video of 1 minute averaging 150-250mb depending on lighting conditions, ensuring you have a large enough microsd card is paramount. Media can be either copied via the mobile app or by connecting the 360 directly to a PC via USB cable.

The 360 is charged via a micro USB cable which is accessed via a largish side panel where you insert the micro sd card as well as the rechargeable battery which is removable. The removable battery is handy as it means you can carry spares without having to worry about running low! I have not tested it, however Samsung state that the 360 is Certified IP53 for protection against harmful deposits of dust and against water sprayed at any angle up to 60 from the vertical.

This will be tested thoroughly during this 2016/2017 ski season. You can edit your media in most standard photo/ video editing suites, which is useful if you want to edit out your hand or head when you held the 360 above your head.

You could even add a circular logo. The 360 ActionDirector is a powerful and easy to use Video editing application. Only down side is the transfer time it takes to import the360 videos. This is advertised as a 4K camera, but 4K is really when you add up all the directions. When you shoot 360 video even with highest resolution, the video looks good when you are viewing it in normal 2D 360 mode on your phone.

However, when you watch using Samsung Gear VR or any other VR using the Oculus app in 360 Side by Side format, the quality of the video is so horrible that even faces of people more than 10 feet away can not be recognized.

You can not tell if its Cindrella or a Ghost – really – just see fuzzy bright bloblike face. We used this camera to our Disney trip, and shot 360 videos during the day time in full sunlight. There was this disney parade which I shot from curb side (5-7 feet away from where characters walk), and can not really see facial expressions of anybody – actually not even face and just could recognize them from dresses.

People within 2-4 feet distance look fine thogh. I am not sure if this is because Oculus’s app’s handeling of the Video in side by side format, or any other app, but this happens regardless of what VR headset or app I use to watch VR video.

Overall the 3D 360 video’s result is even poor than a flip phone camera that were available 10 years ago with less than 1. 2 Mega Pixel resolution. This is my second Gear 360 camera. Second because I had Samsung Gear VR this time, and hence expected better VR video experience (had given first camera to someone, so had to buy second camera).

Now stuck with two cameras which cant even return. I would say this is far from 4K, and far far from Virtual Reality. The camera shoots good videos in 360 mode, but then when the software opens the video in side by side format, it loses all quality.

The shape of the speaker is unusual and makes a nice feature in the room without being too overpowering. It is heavy and solid giving the feeling that it is well built. After plugging it into the mains the Bluetooth setup was straightforward and worked perfectly.

From the first time I played music through the speaker it was obvious that it would fill the room with rich deep sound. The mix had quite a prominent bass that was a bit too much for some tracks, a small adjustment using the phone app altered this to suit my taste.

I then connected the speaker to our Bravia television to see how well that would work. The speaker is located a small distance away from the television and the sound experience is similar to a cinema.

When people are speaking the sound matches their lip movement but the voice does not seem to be coming from their mouth in the same way that it does through the TV speaker. This took a little bit of getting used to but it was worth it because when you watch an action movie the sound is amazing.

Because the speaker is so versatile it is always being used either to play radio via the internet, music from various sources or the TV. You do not need the volume high to get very good sound that fills the room.

We have got so used to the quality of this speaker that our old ones are now redundant.

I own and use Bose and Apple Bluetooth speakers and am very happy with the sound quality so was curious how this speaker would sound. The sound quality is excellent, very precise, well balanced and you get the impression it’s the way the artist would want you to hear it.

The layout of the speakers is unusual with three upward firing speakers, others in the body of the unit and lastly the bass port. Connectivity is great utilising compatible Alexa and Google Assistant products, although I can’t comment on how these work as I don’t use them personally.

Other streaming services such as Spotify can use the 360 realty sound but I only use Apple Music. The sound quality as mentioned is great and while the speaker performs well you would have to spend silly money to improve on it significantly.

Although the Sonos speaker is one of the most popular spears out there with a good sounds this betters it (the Sonos is significantly cheaper) This is an expensive speaker but the main point for discussion is the size.

It is large and if Sony could make it 30% smaller and keep the sound quality it would be the perfect speaker. That being said I can live with the size as it is in a largish room and it fills the room with sound.

Overall I would give it 9/10 and recommend it for the sound alone.

My first experience with 360 filming and very pleasantly surprised. Good quality footage – even auto settings can be trusted most of the time. The microphone is not the best (very sensitive to wind) but – for what I do – this is not an issue due to almost all of it being dubbed.

I still have lots to learn and discover but, so far, very pleased with this little gem.

Easiest to use and edit, very best quality output. I am a professional real estate photographer. I have several other 360 cameras (QooCam 8K and Theta X. The 1 sensor has outstanding dynamic range. Super easy and fast to output and use.

I bought these to replace a small Bluetooth Logitech speaker that I’ve used for years that suited my outdoor needs just fine but I wanted to have a wireless stereo system. These Anker Soundcore Motion speakers are awesome and I would have given them 5 stars but they’re clumsy to set up for stereo if you have two of them.

The instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. Once I got them paired (after a couple hours of trial and error along with an abundance of sweat and tears) they’ve remained paired when powered on.

Originally, the sound kept cutting out every couple minutes but a firmware update (which was in beta and I had to request it) seems to have taken care of that issue. The sound is superb. These little guys really put out the bass and the highs are distinctive.

The only downside is that I have to resist cranking up the volume so I don’t entertain – or annoy – the entire neighborhood.

Aside from having a great price, the sound is clear and not over hyped. The midrange is present and not scouped, the vocals sound clear and with body. The problem with some small and cheap speakers is that they tend to sound boxy.

This is not the case. The designers managed to make it sound more neutral and a lot bigger than its size, not just in volume but in frequency response. Great bang for the buck. I’m going to get a second one since you can stereo pair them to make an even bigger sound.

Bought soundcore motion + a year ago in June (2021). Wanted to test thoroughly. Outstanding indoor outdoor sound! Works great in the barn while we unload hay or work with animals. My soundcore has been wet, frozen, dirty, and used hard.

I’ve used these for several years. They are not worth the money JBL charges, and do not sound as good out of the box as other speakers in it’s price range. I could go on for hours, but I’ll keep it to some major points.

– the spread between the HF (part that produces the higher frequencies) and the woofer (for the lower) is uneven. Stand on the side with HF, you get more highs. Same if you go to the other side, you get more lows.

This gets worse as you go further away, which is bad if you’re reaching hundreds of people and attempting to maintain a clear sound. – While JBL claims to call this a line array, it is not. Line array you can configure the speakers to point exactly where you want them by changing it’s hang angle.

VRX does not do this, and often leads to blasting the front rows while people in the back struggle to hear. – The heat dispersion is very bad. On hot days where the sun is shining on it, it will get hot and “thermal out” (it thinks because its hot, that the speaker is clipping, and shuts off to prevent damage to the speaker) This also happens when you cover it to protect it from rain; the heat doesnt have anywhere to disperse to, keeping the amp hot and causing it to shut off.

– The amp ribbons on these are very poor. Multiple times I’ve shown up to a gig with a rig that was working the night before, only to have a dead speaker that won’t power on. – The high end signal is very harsh and often needs to be EQ’d in order to not feel like a chainsaw to the ears.

They have attenuation for it but that’s only for the signal level, not the sound of it. They are also ineffective in larger settings – They do not include DB readings on the attenuator. You basically have to guess.

I’ve stopped using it because I’ll fly my speakers and find that they’re too soft at “1 oclock” There are better options for less money that do the same thing, if not more. JBL released these and hasn’t made any improvements to it since they did.

We own several of the Passive JBL VRX932LA-1 Arrays and we added the “Powered” VRX932LAP to our inventory for special events where we need a quick, set-up. The VRX932LAP fits the requirement nicely and gives us the same audio quality, especially for the Vocals where the VRX932 really “cuts through” the mix.

We also use the LAP model for quickly providing side fills or center fills. Awesome sounding speaker.

There was a time that I laughed at the idea of an all in one VR headset. I’ve tried out the PS VR, the HTC Vive, and the Valve Index. All are fantastic, with great visuals, but they’re also all tethered to a console or a PC.

I didn’t think that the Quest 2 could honestly compete with them, so I never gave it much thought. But I also don’t have the room at the moment for a permanent or even semi-permanent VR setup, so after getting a few gift cards for Christmas, I decided to give the Quest 2 a shot.

I couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised and I’ll try to explain why. Graphically, its not going to be on par with the latest PC VR headsets, simply because they’ve got more memory and graphics power to play with that a PC does, but the Quest doesn’t look bad at all.

Some of the models are lower poly count, but they still look good and are pretty immersive, and thats the important part. That and the fact that you aren’t tethered to anything, since the Quest uses inside-out postional tracking.

There are no sensors to set up. You can take it anywhere, and play anywhere, which is a big plus for me. You just set up your safe play area (its basically a wall that the Quest warns you about if you get too near, so you don’t hit or run into anything when you’re playing.

The Quest actually remembers it too, so if you play in the same area like I do, you set it once and then don’t have to do anything except make sure the area is clear before you start playing. The headset is comfortable enough with the standard strap, although if you want to play for longer periods, you might want to change that up.

There are official straps as well as after market options. Audio quality is good too, even though there are any “headphones”. The audio is actually pumped through the plastic strap connectors toward your ears.

It’s a pretty ingenious solution actually, but it is an open system, so ambient noise is not blocked out. You can use a set of headphones though, as there is a 3. 5mm headphone jack on the side near the USB C charging port.

The handheld controllers are comfortable and sturdy, and use AA batteries. I was concerned that I would be going through a lot of batteries, as most VR controllers are rechargeable, but the batteries in the Quest controllers seem to last a long time (Almost a month and the original ones are still going strong for me) The headset itself is rechargeable, which limits the playtime, but I find that 2-3 hours of play time is more than enough for me.

I find I need a break around 1. 5-2 hours in anyway, but if you want more playtime between charges, there are battery pack options out there (Including the Elite Strap w/battery). The included charger takes about 2-2.

5 hours to completely charge the built in battery from empty to full. Finally, don’t think that buying the Quest is locking you into stand alone VR, as you can actually connect your headset to your PC with a link cable and use it as a PC VR headset, making it one of the best options for getting into VR.

While I hate to give Facebook credit (I refuse to call them Meta), I think the Quest 2 is great, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a neat glimpse into the future bogged down by a plethora of issues. Privacy concerns withstanding – as Meta is aiming to monitor every movement and facial expression one makes whilst using the device – there are many practical problems with the design of the device itself.

It only has 3 different IPD settings, meaning that anyone whose IPD falls in between or outside of the presets will have an issue with blurring vision and an unclear image. This was a huge part of what I disliked about my experience with it, as it gave me significant headaches and visual distortion well after stopping use of the device.

For clarity’s sake, I used it for about 30 minutes at a time, once a day for a few days in a row. Many people tend to complain about feeling motion sickness when using these devices and while I did feel a little goopy in the gut, I didn’t enjoy the sensation of motion enough to get to where this was a serious issue for me.

I grew up playing video games regularly and still do occasionally, so it was entertaining to see how I could interact with games in a 3D space. That being said, none of the games felt very satisfying, and these days if I want to play a video game I certainly don’t want to be strapped into an uncomfortable near-eye projector to be fully engaged in the experience.

The headstrap is a well-documented nightmare and it’s absurd that they charge extra for a higher-quality one instead of changing out the one included. They finally added a silicone cover to the padding around the eyes after countless complaints about the foam irritating people’s skin, and I’m not surprised as it feels kind of like fine sandpaper to the touch.

What would have been the most relaxing experiences were dulled by low-resolution image quality (on a high-speed connection, no less) and in the case of multiplayer games, a disturbing amount of young players – well below the recommended age for using the device in the first place.

It’s a shame that parents don’t monitor their kids better to prevent this from happening and instead slap them into a device that will invariably detriment their developing sense of balance and spatial recognition.

Further still, it is disappointing that Facebook (now rebranded as Meta) has done so little to mitigate these issues. Ultimately, perhaps this product is merely not for me. However, I would recommend against it to anyone who is looking to use it for relaxation and absolutely insist that nobody use this for long periods as it can be dangerous – as is stated in the health and safety information included with the device.

I’m very impressed with this headset! I wrestled with whether to pay $100 more for double the storage capacity, but after perusing apps in the Oculus store and averaging app sizes, I determined there was too little value in that.

Down the road, if I get REALLY into VR in general, I might wind up regretting that decision, but I honestly think that would be the only thing I’d regret about this device. Oculus was experiencing some kind of server issue that prevented me from completing registration and setup right away, so it was about 4 hours after I unboxed it that I was able to use it.

And boy, was I blown away! I still have a VR headset that requires a phone be stuck in it, but I haven’t used it in a while for just that reason. This one, of course, doesn’t need that, and the resolution is really, really good.

Your IPD (Inter-pupillary distance), or the distance between your eyes, can be accommodated by selecting from 3 different widths. I read one review that said the maximum is 68mm, but their IPD was 72.

In that case, the image will appear blurry. For that reason, I suggest checking your IPD before you purchase. What’s in the box is simple, the headset, two controllers (with batteries), a spacer for those who wear glasses and a silicone piece that makes it comfortable to wear against your face.

It’s very well balanced and doesn’t feel heavy to me, but there are optional head straps you can get if you find it too front-heavy. I also like the passthrough feature that lets you see your real-world environment if/when you need to.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and immersiveness of the sound, but I will probably get some ear buds soon so I can get a fuller volume level (I usually have the volume on about 6-7). But it sounds great.

The ‘Home’ environment, which is set up like a house or apartment, is really cool, and there are several different designs available. I found the battery life, stated as about two hours, to be pretty accurate, but I bought a 10-foot USB cable so that I could have it plugged in and playing while it’s charging (yes, you can use it fully while it’s charging).

There is a head strap available with a place for an optional battery to extend use time without worrying about a cable, but that doesn’t seem necessary to me, at least not at this point. I just got done using it, and I was in VR for about 3 1/2 hours, and battery life was still 82%.

So far, I have used it for probably 20 hours total since I’ve had it, and the controller batteries are still at 100%. I’m sure that depends on what you’re doing, though. I have watched a couple of movies, and with the ability to have a curved screen (or flat if you prefer) that views even larger than my 60″ TV, it’s just amazing.

I’ve also played a few games, watched some videos of dancers, concerts, and awesome, immersive tours of places like Switzerland, Italy, the Matterhorn, Great Lakes, under-sea stuff and so many more. All of it has been awesome.

And so far, I have found enough good, free content that I haven’t gotten around to purchasing anything yet! Another effective feature is the voice control. You can do almost anything using voice commands, including powering the device off.

I haven’t explored that feature too deeply yet, but I have started and stopped apps and games, checked local time and weather and performed several other functions just by telling it what I want. You just double-press the ‘Oculus’ button to get it to listen for voice commands One complaint I know many will have, is that setting up the device REQUIRES a Facebook account.

BUT, you can set it so that your FB profile info, including your profile name, will not be revealed in VR if you happen to do some multi-person thing, and neither is your Oculus username revealed to your FB contacts, so that doesn’t bother me at all.

The only thing I wish, and this is so minor it’s really almost petty, but I do wish it came in black. That isn’t even worth deducting stars over. Overall, I just love it, and I highly recommend it!.

I bought this couple years ago and when I initially used it had some issues where recording kept stopping in between and camera would get stuck but starts working after the restart. It became very frustrating.

I thought that this is a device that needs some learning curve. But it became more and more frustrating over the time. Now my camera is never connected. Keeps getting stuck as soon as it is turned on.

Talking back and forth with the customer care took over 2 months. They keep asking for the same video proof again and again. Stupidest things like turn on the camera, remove sd card and replace, remove battery and replace and all this they want recorded as proof that I actually did it.

After all that their solution is to send it to the repair center. They would not only charge for repair, which they don’t even tell the estimate for, they would charge for the 2-way shipping too. Worst part is the camera never smoothly worked for me once and all the money spent on it is equal to money down the drain now.

I don’t have problem in paying for the repair if atleast I know the estimate and have trust that I can get in touch with customer care if any problem arises. But it is impossible to get immediate responses and after 2 months of same chat with them I have no trust in their team whatsoever.

OVERALL: this is a great camera for its price and purpose. Image quality is very good, the software is easy to use and free, stabilization and other advanced features are amazing. SIZE: extra compact, the lenses and focal planes are really close and this results in great portability with superior stitching.

I am still to find a fault on video and photo stitching, even with close subjects. SOUND: the camera offers 2 microphones for stereo capture, but no audio input. I wonder if a cleverly designed audio cable could be hidden using the invisible monopod, that would be amazing for better audio quality.

The sound is ok, worse than a dedicated recording device, but still usable. It would be amazing if we could pair a Bluetooth microphone… but that’s just me getting greedy and trying to adequate it to my workflow, as I do interviews and BATTERY: it is not long-lasting with 1200mAh.

If I could complain about anything this would be the only concern, it does not last long. But then I looked at the size of the kit and remembered it was to be expected. There is a good solution though since the Insta360 OneX does come with a replaceable battery and that makes it easy to carry some to replace on the go.

THat is actually going to be necessary if you plan on doing video or taking many pictures during long periods without recharging. On my experience, I could make it last around 1 hour if using with Wi-Fi constantly on, about 4h if I kept wi-fi off and used it sparingly and without the phone connected.

It charges fast, around 20-30 minutes from zero to full with a fast charger. STABILIZATION: Whoah! I was impressed by the results from the 6-axis gyro-based image stabilization, especially comparing with the lame MadVenture and other bad examples I’ve had in the past.

I recorded smooth videos while walking on very bad terrain. As I moved and inevitably shook it quite good the videos still came buttery smooth. I am impressed and very happy with the results so far, I do think it is just as good as the amazing stabilization from the GoPro7 https://amzn.

to/2XvNFFV. STITCHING: As I stated before, I have only found minor issues with the automatic stitching. It is very easy to stitch using the phone app, but I do prefer to put the card in a fast card reader and copy to my workstation, this way I have more options and control over the videos.

I do not use the app to edit, but it is really simple and intuitive to use and make overcapture videos. EDITING: overcapture videos are very easy with the free app. You can also use most non-linear editing software (Final Cut, Premiere…) to edit natively and that is a game changer for me.

No more need to stitch using my phone and then transfer to a messy After Effects workflow! ENVIRONMENTAL SEAL: it is not waterproof, you need a special case to protect it or even dive. That said and on your own risk, it is possible to use it in “splashy situations” without an issue.

I’ve recorded videos near a waterfall without issues, I just tried to protect the open USB port and all was good. I take no responsibility if drown your camera, do it at your own risk. DESIGN: I found it to be great, functional and even pretty.

Materials look and feel good, it is as premium as it should be expected with the price tag. The tiny LCD is a welcome bonus, you can actually get relevant data from it. The simple 2-button interface gets the simple tricks done, for anything fancier you should use the app.

LEDs keep you aware of what is happening and most important: if it is still recording! The only issue I found with the design is that you cannot replace the microSD card without removing the camera from a tripod.

That is not an issue for most people, only for those capturing many hours of interviews and needing to keep the camera without any movement. The easy solution was buying bigger cards, up to 128Gb.

The camera itself is very easy to use however making a movie requires more than just brain power. Your computer needs to be able to handle the large file sizes, it has to be powerful and fast enough to be able to process those files AND, if you’re going to use the Insta 360 app, your mobile phone also needs to be fairly up-to-date to be able to have the app installed in the first place.

The image quality is good providing you shoot at 5K, anything of lesser quality and the images ‘feather’ out in the edges especially if you want to have images/video when zoomed in. The camera is lightweight at only about 125 grams.

I haven’t yet tested it with the various accessories such as water housings, etc, but will do in the next couple of months when I earn enough funds to purchase these. All in all, a good camera, BUT it’s no substitute for any pro gear that you’ve been using.

It merely is another camera to add to your camera bag for different angles and perspectives of your subjects. If you have $500 to splash out on a new toy such as this, then by all means go for it. BUT, remember, shooting the images is one thing, getting them processed and making a nice film for others to enjoy is another – enjoy!!!.

This little camera has the capability of shooting 4K+ log video, you can match your footage later, not to mention HDR mode with beautiful clarity. This 1/2in CMOS sensor works well in low light not perfect like the Sony fX3 or A7S III, but good enough and usable.

The images are ultra sharp in daylight. It goes without saying, but must be sad. The stabilization is breathtakingly good. This can be used as a teaching tool, a blogging A-B camera, video demonstrations, or just having fun with the friends.

At 25 its the most reasonably priced player I have had. The sound is well balanced and in a moderate room can compete with the top of the range players. I have used it at parties, Outdoors, while dining and at bedtime.

Cannot fault it at all. Will certainly be getting it for a lot of folks as a christmas present. Mostly on request.

The sound from this little speaker is quite good but connected to my Samsung Galaxy S6 the sound quality and volume only marginally better than phone built in speaker. Nowhere near as good as ipad built-in speaker and connected to my little Sansa Clip MP3 player.

nowhere near loud enough to hear it with both at full volume.

First: The device works as expected, making meetings very easy and almost (not quite!) care-free. The sound is good, the integrated speaker is enough to reasonably fill any room (even the 40’x100′ hall that we were using for a time), and the logic controlling the cameras and mics did their job fairly well.

A caveat: because of how the device works (a camera aimed through a convex lens to get a 360-degree panoramic view, and then internal logic to ‘cut’ that image into slices for display), image resolution is lower than one might expect from your Logitech 1080p monitor-mounted webcam.

However, as long as there’s enough light in the room, the image is certainly acceptable for video conferencing. A HUGE thank you to the tech support team: about eight months in, we noticed an increasingly loose connection (the USB jack on the base of the unit – see my suggestion below), which caused intermittent connection problems.

A quick note to the company and not only did they cover the item under warranty, they cross-shipped a new unit to me, along with a return label for the old one. This isn’t a unprecedented level of customer service, but it is very, very rare these days — HUGE shout out to Owl Labs for their very quick, very responsive customer support! PS: I am looking into the Owl lock adapter, not that I’m worried about the Owl walking away, but it acts as a base to provide better stability and help keep cables in place).

Alternately (if I can find funds for it), the Meeting HQ device from Owl Labs is the better option – stablilizes the Owl, removes the PC from the loop, and makes starting a meeting VERY simple — solving LOTS of end-user problems.

Like other reviewers, this product does not last more than a year or two and then fails. I purchased two for my company and used them once a week for a half-hour. Now, the audio is terrible on BOTH devices so clearly it’s a design issue.

Do they do anything, nope, they just offer to sell me a refurbished one. Please avoid. A waste of money for an inferior product.

My main reason for buying this camera is the 13 stop bracketed shooting, and I was not disappointed! In the app, I’m able to adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance to fine tune each picture. Pair it with a good HDR editor, and this can get some amazing results! Perfect for HDRI environments and VFX work.

The built-in HDR setting works fine, but doesn’t hold a candle to the manual settings. My only real complaint is the app can be a bit tricky at first, and doesn’t always transfer the images properly.

But the camera works and I can always retrieve them directly.

Great for real estate or those lovely social media trick shots. I’ve been using this camera to organize virtual tours of properties. Works perfectly and gives a great 360-degree view of each room. Easy to use.

The app from Ricoh does not work on Nokia Android phones. I suggest using the cable and the desktop version of the app.

This item is the future and it will only get more entertaining. You can easily download any Virtual Reality program from your smart phone and there are more and more available. Put the phone into the front of the headset, and you can pretend (and FEEL) that you are on a rollercoaster, for example, with a 360 degree view just by turning your head.

It’s fun and unusual and I’d highly recommend this especially if you have a lot of kids around. Grownups will like it as well. Such as myself.

The VR headset is fun, it is at a good price point for casual fun. The VR experience on this product is decent and it has earphones attached which makes it cool. I am just not sure if the experience would be more life like with a higher end headset or if it is the actual VR apps chosen.

But whichever it is, it is a a good novelty toy.

I like it – it’s nicely made, comfortable and durable. The problem I have with it is that it’s too small for today’s cellphones; I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and it’s too large to fit the VR headset – it fits lengthwise but it’s too wide so I can’t close the cover – instead I have to hold it closed with one hand which frees up the other hand for the control buttons.

Total quality and well thought out design. Nice case. Easy to fit a proper phone into the unit. Comfortable fit on the head. Was even able to fit a slightly smaller phone into the unit with simple modification.

Only downside is the manual could have been a bit clearer.

A good piece of kit. I researched this over a couple of weeks and I’m very pleased with the Freely. Well-constructed, comfortable. Instructions in English rather than a Chinese version of English. A good headset and friends who’ve tried it have been impressed.

Unlike most reviewers of VR Headsets I didn’t get this for free and I paid full price for it. I’d certainly buy it over the cheaper ones.

Well i didnt know what to expect from this product. Actually from vr at all. But after thoroughly trying out a few headsets, this one is fair. At the price it is defineatly worth it. I tended to enjoy movies and videos more than games but if your curious in trying vr, for the money.

Its worth the venture.

This item marketing campaign is a bit misleading; from the picture, you think you are buying two cameras for the price of one, but you are only getting one camera and two lenses. I’m afraid that it’s super not suitable for a company to market a product as such.

Even the BBY employee could not answer my question if I were buying one camera, two cameras with two lenses, or only one camera with two lenses.

Love this thing. It’s like having 2 action cameras. The 4k wide angle mod and the 360 mod. Swap able in seconds and the app instantly recognizes what lens is attached and automatically changes settings and available options accordingly Easy to use and takes amazing photos and videos.

Pros: Small, reliable with great app. Cons: Not had enough time for a good test but one thing I have found is you have to buy so many extras. Yes the mic is good but to get it better and add external mic you have to buy a cold shoe, then a mic adapter and its different to the one on the one x2, and they are not cheap.

It’s a sleek, completely black headset made out of sturdy plastic. Samsung made it comfier last year, and the version I tried out here felt pleasant to wear even in a boiling-hot demo room. Along with having a USB-C connection and the right inserts to fit the new duo of phones, the updated Gear VR has a wider field of view – so more content can be seen without running into black bars – thanks to new 42mm lenses and it now supports 101-degree rotation.

It’s also backwards-compatible with older Samsung phones, I assume as it will be replacing those models entirely rather than just sitting alongside it. The biggest addition to the whole setup is the wand-like controller, which was actually first shown off at MWC earlier in the year.

My biggest dislike about the Gear VR was its frustrating head-mounted touchpad that made playing anything other than basic games a complete chore, but having a physical remote that you can point and twirl remedies this issue completely.

If you’ve seen any other virtual reality headset, then the Samsung Gear VR won’t be that foreign a concept. Around the edge of the portion that sits against your face is two layers of foam that makes wearing the Gear VR a very comfortable experience.

Where the last iteration felt heavy on your face from the weight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the latest edition with its newer phones is much lighter and more comfortable. It attaches to your head via a set of two straps.

One goes around the back of your head, with a padded leather pad at the rear. Then there’s another strap that goes over the top of your head attaching at one end to the rear strap and at the other side to the headset itself.

There’s a chunky white portion to this top strap, which has another padded leather section for additional comfort. Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge feature a 5. 1-inch display with a 1,440 x 2,560p Quad HD resolution.

They’re powered by the octo-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB of RAM. While this is top-end for a smartphone, but when that resolution is being split between two lenses you’ll start seeing pixellation and lower quality virtual reality content than your eyes are expecting.

The one major issue I had with the Samsung Gear VR is the lenses misting up. Although Samsung claims it has a design system that limits this, it’s a serious issue when you use the headset for the first time each session.

You’ll find yourself readjusting and wiping the lenses constantly at first, until they get to the same temperature as your face.

The 3d experience is reasonably immersive, and the controller that ships with the headset is very good, operating much like those on the Nintendo Wii. Setup is pretty straight forward: plug in your phone, and the base Samsung software needed to make it work is automatically downloaded.

I purchased the unit to watch movies / TV shows. It does allow you to have a big screen experience with the freely available media viewer. You can get comfortable and watch at any angle, even laying down.

Ive also downloaded a handful of VR games that are quite fun. One thing I learned that seemed contrary to what I had read is that the included USB-c port on the Gear VR not only powers the electronics on the Gear unit itself, but also passes through power to the phone to keep it charged (which is great given the battery on the old phone doesnt hold a charge very well).

The unit ships with a basic adjustable head strap, and is reasonably comfortable to use. NEGATIVE CONSDIERATIONS:While the quality overall is good, you still do get pixelization on the screen the unit is magnifying the phone screen, so this isnt a big surprise.

It does tend to be somewhat disorienting, and causes a bit of a headache after extended use. Your experience in this regard will largely depend on the age / quality of the phone you are usingmine being an older/ lower resolution screen is undoubtedly contributing to this concern.

Its also worth noting that its hard to keep the Gear lenses and phone screen perfectly clean, meaning that small flecks of lent and such statically cling to either and are pretty visible when magnified through the unit.

Plan on cleaning both sides of the VR lenses and your phone screen before every use. My phone also tends to overheat while playing games or internet streaming 3D content. From what I have read this is fairly common.

This sometimes requires you to stop and let the unit cool down. Also worth noting, the games, apps, and other titles available for the unit are fairly limited, and somewhat expensive compared to most other cell-related content (ranging from ~ $1.

99 to $20 range, average likely around $8 or so). OVERALL: If you are expecting a flawless VR experience you will likely be disappointed, go buy a full Oculus rig. If you go into this like I did and consider it as buying a sub-$40 piece of equipment paired with an old and otherwise unused cell phone, then you are likely to be pretty happy with the experience.

I must accept I am not a gaming kind of girl. So, I wasn’t expecting much about the GEAR. I thought it was cool to have it, but didn’t really see where I could fit this gadget in my life. I got my GEAR on my NYC trip and used it as an entertainment tool, learned about games and how to play it.

It was actually fun and I ended up with something fun and different to do while waiting around in the airports. Then, I got back to Colombia and found out I could actually show my parents all the amazing pictures and videos I had taken with my GEAR.

I was amazed to be able to take them throughout my whole NYC experience from the comnfort of our house in Colombia. They were shocked to feel like they were there, in that video, with me. It was after this happened that I actually realized the GEAR is not just made for gamers.

It is a versatile tool capable of adapting to whichever entertaining tastes you might have. Thus, the GEAR is just an amazing bridge of technological reality, what you do with it, mostly depends on your imagination.

To me, the gear enables me to share my experiences and memories with the ones I love… As I said before, I am not a gamer, I am more of an open space- sharing experiences kind of person. So, I found a use for my GEAR that could connect me to people.

I have been taking my GEAR to friend and family parties. I have been making out of the GEAR a “group experience”, it has been amazing to share this technology with friends, family and the ones I love, and I must say, it has been the main attraction of the parties I go to.

I have loved my GEAR and I loved that it fits my lifestyle, you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy these gadgets. GEAR technology has enabled me to connect and share my experiences and moments with family and friends.

I love the Dance Central games! My brother had loaned me Dance Central and Dance Central 2. He 1st asked for his Dance Central game back which had been the only one I’d tried up until that point, which forced me to go on to Dance Central 2.

I found out I loved it just as much as one. I replaced Dance Central when I bought Dance Central 3. Then my brother asked for his Dance Central 2 game back. La Sigh! I couldn’t be short the set and the songs I loved so much, so I went to Walmart.

Com to see if I could get it. Yes, they had it and in an affordable previously owned version. I bought it and so far that I’ve danced in Dance Central 2 everything seems groovy. I’d recommend giving all the Dance Central games a try, especially if you can get them in previously owned format.

They are very expensive brand new.

I really enjoyed the first DC, so as soon as I saw that DC was coming out I pre-ordered it. I can not get enough of it. Its awesome! Not only do you have the same songs and moves from the original, but you have many new ones.

I love to dance so I get tons of enjoyment out of this. It is also great exercise. I like the voice commands. And I like how you do not have to go through every stinking practice move, but can pick what moves you want to work on.

and you can record yourself dancing so you can compare yourself with the dancer in the game to see how you are doing. I love this game so much I am taking it to Ohio with me this week (with my xbox lol) so my mother and I can dance together.

Yup, I am going to be dancing DC2 on my vacation. That is how great it is. Buy it and you will see how much greater it has become from the original. I recommend highly if you loved the first one.

The game arrived with what looked like dried spilled chocolate milk on the disc and inside the case. It was on the top and bottom of disc but seemed to wipe off. Have yet to play it but hoping it works.

Ill probably end up throwing the pamphlets away if it works and I keep it cause they are covered in the dried spill.
