20 Best 3A Curly Hair Products (2022 Updated)

I’ve used the Fairy tales repel detangling spray but never the shampoos or conditioners. I am so mad I waited this long I bought the curly Q line for my 4 YO who has the most beautiful long super tight curly hair.

I was using baby dove but her curls needed life and I didn’t want to use anything too strong/ as a hairstylist it’s important for my daughter’s hair to look beautiful naturally while helping the integrity of her hair.

I put this on her while shampooing she kept telling me she loved the smell of the shampoo and the conditioner. I washed it off and it lathers beautiful a little goes a long way just add more water to create foam.

I then added the conditioner as I always do I left it on during her bath time bc she loves to sit and play for 20-30 minutes sometimes. After washing the conditioner off I let her hair air fry and let me tell you her hair had shine without me needing to add the hair serums I normally put to add shine so knowing that just the shampoo and conditioner does that for her I’m using this for life and with my daughter who’s currently in my belly.

Never going to use anything else! I love the repel detangler bc it repels lies not that she’s ever had it but I want to ensure I prevent it the line works amazingly!.

Use this with the matching shampoo on wash days, and just the conditioner on days in between. It’s okay, but it doesn’t soften and detangle my daughter’s fine 2c/3a hair as well as some others. I don’t understand why the conditioner bottle is so small compared to the shampoo, since curly people generally use way more conditioner than shampoo.

Smells nice, but sets off my hubby’s allergies whenever our daughter walks in. I know it works great for others, but it just isn’t a good fit for my daughter’s hair type.

While this product didn’t work for me, there is a happy ending to my tale so I’m still giving this lovely conditioner 5 stars. I bought this curly hair product for my straight hair simply hoping to add a boost of moisture to my hair while also thinking that the conditioner’s scent would smell good.

The smell is divine – the soft coconut and other refreshing scents recalls memories of soft white sand, warm ocean water, and relaxation. I felt like my shower had turned into a tropical oasis. My hair felt so soft, moisturized, and silky.

This conditioner smoothed beautifully into my hair and spread easily to coat each strand in moisturizing goodness. As I washed it out, I could feel my hair detangle effortlessly between my fingers. Unfortunately, it was around this time that I started to feel a burning sensation on my scalp.

After I finished rinsing, I checked my scalp in the mirror – red, irritated patches had appeared on my scalp where I had accidentally rubbed some of the product into my skin. This is not uncommon for me, sadly – I have very easily irritated skin! Just to make sure, I rubbed a tiny amount of conditioner into the skin of my inner elbow as a test.

An angry red patch appeared minutes later. My skin clearly disagreed with something in the ingredients. I gave the conditioner to my sister to try and she loves it – she says it makes her hair beautifully shiny and soft, and her skin isn’t bothered in the slightest by the product.

This conditioner will be pure heaven for someone who doesn’t have skin as sensitive as mine. I’m so sad that I can’t use this conditioner (curse my sensitive skin!), but I’m thrilled that it’s working so well for my sister.

This shampoo and conditioner is the best I’ve ever used. My hair is baby fine, curly, easily frizzy, and easily weighed down by hair products. This stuff works. I have an oily scalp and because my hair is fine and high porosity, I have to wash it daily.

I shampoo every day with this, it’s cleansing enough to clean my hair and scalp but never drying. I let the conditioner sit for 2 minutes. My hair has body, curl definition, and no frizz. Love this stuff and it smells pleasantly like fake bananas while wet.

I can’t smell it on my hair once it’s dry. I wish I’d had this all my life. It’s such a perfect balance. It never weighs my hair down, which is rare for fine hair. You don’t need too much of the conditioner.

I actually go through the shampoo faster, which never happens.

The revitalizing shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I have 2b waves but this gives me 2a beach waves with some frizz day one. It looks pretty. But at the end of the day my hair falls straight and the next day I’ve lost all my waves.

This is without stylers. It does weigh my hair down a bit and that’s why I lose my waves. Smells really good and I’m still really shocked it makes my hair so shiny and so soft! Especially since there are no silicones and no polyquats in this line.

The conditioner bottles are way too small, I’m am a heavy handed conditioner user and this would get really expensive to do a 2-1 ratio or 3-1 ratio of conditioners per shampoo. So I don’t know I’m the long run.

With shampoo a little goes a long way.

I hate that I didn’t like this hair product, because I really like the shampoo and conditioner of this line. But this smoothie was hugely disappointing. It has a very slimy/gluey texture that does not mix/spread into my hair well at all.

The first time I used it my hair was quite wet. I tried to work the product in my hands before applying, but was still left with white splotches I had to wipe away/in. Since it didn’t spread, I ended up using a lot of product.

After a few hours (when my hair would be dried with other products), my hair felt crunchy like a mousse, but sticky like a pomade. It had no natural movement and looked wet. I tried it a 2nd time on damp hair – not as wet as the 1st time – and used a lot less product.

It didn’t have the stickiness like before but looked the same. I had little frizz, but it was still stiff like if I added glue to my hair. Both times it leaves my hair looking fried – similar to when it’s damaged and fried with heat or chemicals.

It’s stiff, whispy, and dry. The container says you can add to dry hair, but it’s like adding glue. Not a good situation. The only positive thing I say about it is that it smells good enough to eat. Unfortunately, I can definitely not recommend this to anyone.

There has been a new formula change to this product once again. I just wanted to put that out there for all of the folks out there that may not know this already. The newest version that’s out contains water as the first ingredient, coconut fruit juice as the second ingredient, and glycerin (vegetable) as the third ingredient.

Shea butter is listed as the 5th ingredient. And, the last ingredient listed is fragrance. At this point, I think, I have bought and tried every version that Shea Moisture has ever come out with this product before.

I can personally say that between the original version and the latest version, there is no major difference that I have found, even though they of course have different formulations of course. If you have a looser curl pattern, you use less, and if you have a more tighter curl pattern, or if you have thick or very thick hair, then you would use more.

It dries completely clear, it has the same scent, but it seems to be less strongly scented than I remember. Do I feel that it’s worth buying? Yes. I have hair where I can’t use styling gel on it back to back, because it will start to dry out.

So, I honestly prefer styling creams the most. But, a really good styling cream isn’t easy to come by. But, because this is a more concentrated cream that will last you a pretty good while, then it is definitely more cost effective to invest in, rather than something that you can buy and that will last you 2 weeks or so.

So, overall, I am really glad that I chose to give this new version that’s out a try, because, I’d rather have soft, touchable hair any day over stiff, crunchy, hair any day.

I originally had a love-hate relationship with SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I think it’s important to know that less is more with this product. Just for reference, I have low porosity 3a/b fine, natural long curly hair.

With other products I’ve been so used to using a ton of product, but when I did this with the curl enhancing smoothie it left my curls weighed down and honestly, tired looking. This product can really build up on your hair if you use too much!!! I started using less product and I started to like it SO MUCH more! So, a little goes a long way!! I usually wet my hair, section it, and rake the product in for best results.

It smells really good and it’s easy to use, but you need to find the right amount that works for YOU. It’s well priced and easy to find at most stores.

Just got my Black Friday order 3 days ago (amazing deal, by the way) and have washed and styled my hair twice with the Curly system and I absolutely love it! I used to have nearly perfectly straight hair through my teens and early 20’s then noticed the texture started to change into my 30’s and beyond (I’m 41 now).

I was super bummed because I always used to get compliments on my hair growing up, but as it changed it just seemed to be frizzy and crazy unless I used a straightener. I decided to start using various drugstore styling products for wavy/curly hair and had decent results, but it seemed like every time I thought I had a good combo of products, one or two of the items would stop being made or stocked and I’d be back to square one.

For the last couple of years I’ve been starting with spraying a fair amount of sea salt spray to my damp hair to add volume followed by a curl defining spray that I would scrunch in before diffusing.

I got compliments on my hair again, but it always seemed a bit dry to me, and if I ran my hands through my hair I would feel a salty residue. I felt there had to be something better for me. I have been seeing ads for LUS on Facebook for at least the past year or so, and was always intrigued, but still too apprehensive to commit to spending a bit more on my hair care, regardless of all of the amazing reviews.

However, when I woke up the day after Thanksgiving and saw the awesome deal LUS was offering for such a large bundle of products I immediately placed my order. All I can say is WOW. I feel like it came out nearly perfect on the first try!! My hair is so soft, grit-free, and bouncier and shinier than with my old routine.

It really does not take much product at all, at least for my fine hair. I divided my hair into 8 sections and only used either a partial pump or a full pump of the styling product on each (depending on the thickness of the section); made sure to use the great spray bottle to keep my hair damp, scrunched and arranged my hair, then used my diffuser like normal.

The application of product took a bit of time, maybe 10 minutes, then the diffusing was another 5-10, but as I get more used to the routine I think it will go even faster. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say so far.

I have dry, sensitive scalp, my hair gets more frizzy and dry on the top part of my head then the middle and bottom section. My hair is a combination of 3B and 3C curls. With products that I have used in the past, my hair would either get extremely dry and frizzy or sticky, build-up, weighted down and scalp would be itchy from product buildup.

I brought the Curly set and finally used it today (July 4) and IMMEDIATLY saw changes in how my hair felt, how my hair looked, and how the curls formed. I used everything as directed and my curls are extremely soft, my hair is not weighed down, my hair appears to have more volume, it feels lightweight, looks shiny and moisturized.

My curls actually looked fully formed. Also, my scalp is not itchy. XD. I have seen some reviews of the bottles being difficult to open but I saw that I had no complications with opening all the products when using them.

L. U. S motto is extremely true when they say a little goes a long way. Seriously, you don’t need a lot of shampoo, conditioner nor styler when using the Curly set. It spreads like CRAZY when reacting to water, even though I did find out that I would need to use more styler on the top part of my head due to that part of my hair being more frizzy prone.

It also smells amazing ( all three products, not too strong). The shampoo and conditioner have a nice thick consistency, not runny and lathers real nicely. The styler is very smooth, and feels like the combination of a light gel and light cream.

I will definitely be updating this review when I continue using the Curly set, and see how my hair reacts. I am so glad I have finally found something that works for my hair.

BEWARE – they do not have a satisfaction guarantee. If you try the product and are unhappy with the results, you are just stuck with it. I have 2C curls, and tried the 3 step system in Curly – based on my test results.

My hair is extremely healthy, I have been using sulfate, paraben, silicone free products for over 5 years. I do not use heat or color treat my hair, and it is trimmed regularly. I have had a TON of success with the DivaCurl products, but wanted to try something new to see what else was out there.

After two weeks of use with the LUS 3 step system I purchased, I was not getting the results that I had hoped for. My hair had this dirty/sticky feeling to it after it dried. Definitely not silky looking or feeling at all.

I altered how I used the product thinking I was not using enough water, or perhaps using too much product, but no matter what I did, I had the same results. One pump of product applied in the shower with TONS of water, and my mid length hair still dried and felt dirty/sticky.

My hair has much better results with NO product at all, compared to my results using the LUS set. Reached out to customer service to see if it would be possible to return product for a refund and was told that was not an option.

They do not offer returns or credits on any type of open product. Disappointed, should have just stuck with the DivaCurl product I was using and had great results with. Don’t waste your time or money, definitely NOT worth it,.

In conjunction with the Brazilian foam, this works wonders for my curls. It doesn’t take much application. It also doesn’t make my hair feel dry. I can even go a few days without reapplying product and it STILL looks amazing.

I have color treated hair and hydration is a must and this product keeps my tresses moisturized! Not to mention the smell!!! It’s like a fruity heaven!! It’s is definitely worth the rotation! I love this product.

I’ve tried every curl product you can imagine. My hair is coarse 3C/4A curl pattern and long. This leaves my hair bouncy, light and curly. I use the whole line, from shampoo to leave in, to curl cream and follow with the curl foam.

I have learned to avoid silicones, which this product doesn’t have. Products with heavy creams and oils weigh my hair down and even leave my neck, back, face feeling oily. This product is light and non-greasy.

I’ll continue to use it.

This curl cream was one of my first purchases from Mielle! I was very excited to use it, it actually worked great for my curly hair at first. My hair actually started growing out thicker. I was also using the avocado moisturizer with this curl cream.

Unfortunately, I noticed that with or without the moisturizer, my hair still looked like dry curls! The curl cream also has a tangerine or weird smell, so I had to switch to the pomegranate curl mousse.

I’m giving this product five stars, because it is the single best quality natural product I’ve ever found for wavy curls, and the company that makes this is remarkably great. They do great work. I’d like to mention the fragrance, because it is an important consideration.

It was recently changed, and I recall people complaining about the former scent. The original did not bother me. The new fragrance is some sort of banana vanilla berry kind of thing, and that, for me, is actually very gross.

BUT, it is still the very best product ingredient wise, and still a company I feel strongly about supporting, still does my hair a world of good that no other product can do – rich, hydrated curls, reduces frizz, makes the color look richer.

And honestly I think it would be completely impossible to pick one fragrance that everyone would love. So, I am sticking with this. Very much hoping the company will consider a more adult fragrance. Something spicy, woody, minty, or any of the more astringent florals like lavender.

Or eucalyptus. But please no banana, please no vanilla.

I stumbled upon Alaffis back in 2009 while searching for shea butter products. I immediately fell in love with both the company and the products. All of my hair and skin care products are Alaffia. I have very coarse, wavh hair that has the texture of a horse tail – and I live in an area with hard water.

The Beautiful Curls cream shampoo softens, moisturizes, and de-frizzes my hair like no other brand of products ever has and I don’t even need to use the conditioner if I choose not to. I love the soft scent as well.

I am really happy with how effective this leave-in conditioner is. I have shoulder-length medium thick wavy hair and I prefer a lot of hydration in my products. I can put 1 full pump of this in after shampoo (or shampoo and conditioner) and it detangles and defrizzes without weighing my hair down.

It doesn’t have strong definition, but it is enough to stop my frizz. I also find the scent to be pleasant and light. I occasionally put a little on my dry hair to define/tame my curls as well.

I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use.

This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. For reference I have fine textured 2C/3A curl pattern hair and I like products that enhance the definition without weighing down my hair too much & sacrificing volume, which I feel this product did well.

I applied it (as I typically do with cream products) on soaking wet hair under gel and diffused it dry. A little goes a long way on my hair type and I used a pea sized amount on two sections with good results.

This product has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc.

as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it.

I will continue to use and would recommend to others.

I received this as a sample to try out, and let me say, as a natural curly haired girl I am always looking for a new holy grail curl product. I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far.

My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I went about my usual schedule and was pleased to see my curls still stayed together throughout the course of my day.

It also made my hair superrr soft which is always a nice addition. Although this product is great for defining your curls, I had to give it 4 stars as I found it was lacking in the hold department and it did not do much to combat additional frizz.

I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product.

I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually.

Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots.

Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream.

I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel.

A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual.

My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸.

As with the other Bumble and Bumble shampoo I tried, I read/watched dozens of amazing reviews about the shampoo which convinced me to give this one a try. First: As with the other, bottle only half full.

I’m guessing this is just how the brand does things? For such little shampoo vs the high price, it’s not one I’ll continue to purchase as there’s more affordable options. The Product: This one was okay.

my curls (lol waves. curly waves. whatever) were definitely more prominent and that was a great plus. I love that it helped with that area but my hair was so thin and lifeless that I couldn’t continue using it.

Plus, I had to wash my hair by the next morning which I normally don’t have to do and that just made it even less worth it. So works great for curls but not so great for thin hair. Might work better for others as all of us have different hair types.

Just not for me. I did like the smell and that it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

I am no stranger to sulfate free shampoos but none of the products I’ve tried in the past have worked as well as the Curl Moisturizing Shampoo. Even though the shampoo is sulfate free, it lathers up nicely and deeply cleanses without stripping my hair.

I usually alternate between a deeply moisturizing shampoo and a shampoo specifically designed for curly hair but Curl Moisturizing Shampoo meets all of my hair’s needs. I’ve been using the shampoo together with the conditioner from the same line and my hair has never looked better! Ive always struggled with dry ends and knots.

at 47, I worry about my fine wavy hair thinning. It had been stripped by previously being dyed all over. I have a super sensitive scalp, and wanted moisture and healing, and this seemed great for months.

But after a while, it seemed my hair was thinning. I used their blond shampoo to help with my brassiness of the growing out damaged hair which helped a ton initially, but then seemed to stop working.

So I alternated back to this one, as the blue one says to use sometimes not all the time. And then my hair seemed stripped. I still like their tone enhancer, honestly, that alone made a big difference.

But perhaps it is a combination of my age, fine fine hair and perhaps water where I live? I don’t know. Perhaps on vacation at the beach this would be okay. But I have tried so so many shampoos, online only high end, gentle salon brands, drugstore brands, organic ones, sensitive scalp ones.

I have used a famous name brand repair brand fora few weeks, but it makes my scalp itch, though my hair is getting better. I finally gave up and ordered customized ones from online which have no yet arrived.

All this rambling is to say, maybe it’s just me. It seemed great for a while. I seem to get sensitized to products fairly easily. Worth trying.

I’ve been using this set for the past month and I gotta say: my hair loves it! It smells amazing (banana and coconut) and works wonders on my normal to dry ends. My scalp is naturally oily and this was one of the few formulas that didn’t increase oil production or weighted down my hair.

The shampoo is clear and lathers super well, while the conditioner is creamy but very lightweight. After washing it, my hair is very, very soft, untangled and hydrated. Not to mention the fact the it has UV protection, which is absolutely amazing for colored hair! Love it, love it, love it! 💛.

I have 2b/2c hair that is often weighed down by products, so it is a challenge to find something that helps define my curls but is still light enough to keep them soft. I kept seeing rave reviews for this curling jelly, but assumed it was more for curlier or coily hair.

I decided to take a chance and try it and I am kicking myself for waiting so long. All I can say is wow. exactly what I have been looking for all these years. My curls are really soft, well-defined, and are popping! They seem to hold their definition all day and with little to no frizz.

I will definitely be repurchasing.

This curling jelly is AWESOME. I have Type 4b/c hair and when I use the As I Am Leave-in Conditioner and then use this As I Am Curling Jelly on top of it, I get the BEST wash-n-gos! No flakes, hair isn’t hard or crunchy, no white residue, the coils are soft, etc.

I don’t know WHAT is in this curling jelly, but as SOON as I rake it in through my hair on top of the leave-in my curls automatically respond! This product is AMAAAAZING. I much prefer it to other traditional gels like EcoStyler,etc.

This jelly is better than any gel I’ve ever tried to use for wash-n-go’s. :).

I loved this product. My wash n go was super defined and it wasn’t crunchy once it dried. It gives a lighter hold than your normal gel and I didn’t have any flaking. It has good slip and my hair was soft when it dried.

It will flake if mixed with the wrong products every product doesn’t mesh together good. If you plan to mix this with another product I recommend putting a small amount on your wrist 1st to test. If it lumps up on you don’t put both on your hair it’ll flake.

It has a pleasant smell and didn’t take as long as a heavier gel to dry.

This is the kind of product that can work as a one-and-done styler or a primer for a stronger hold product. While this doesn’t give my type 4 hair the “hold” in the same sense as a gel, it does perk up my curls in a way that I really like.

I typically wear my hair pulled back or twisted so I don’t need each and every curl to be perfectly defined. What I love the most is how touchably soft my hair is, even on day 2. I used about an ounce for my whole head (almost shoulder-length hair when stretched).

I haven’t had any flakes nor did I need to scrunch my hair to break up any cast (I know some people use this as a styler). I knocked a star because it didn’t give me a ton of slip to make detangling a breeze *but* I’m still able to detangle decently.

My son and I love this leave-in conditioner. After washing our hair, we rub in a little of this to help really bring out our curls. I am bi-racial with naturally curly hair that is more “fine” in texture or what some would call “good hair”.

However, there is no such thing as bad hair; all hair is good hair in my opinion. Nevertheless, my son has hair that is more course in texture and this stuff does great at defining his curl pattern and reducing frizz.

It smells good too. This is definitely a great product that I would recommend for all curl types.

I stayed sway from this product due to the name. It felt weird and gimmicky as a black girl and the product description mentions the different hair types it works on and in my experience what works for straight hair does not work for curly hair.

Then one day I was broke and Camille rose honey leave in was too expensive and the smell was becoming a lot by that point so I grabbed a bottle of this and wow. Moisture galore, curls galore, saved some money galore.

Now not the cheapest leave in, it does work and that’s what I value. Not to scent heavy and idk why but the color and texture make me happy weird. Still feel weird about the name but what can you do right?.

My hair has been struggling with dried ends. Because of this, my hair knots up very easily. Deep conditioning has been a staple for me while I wait for next hair appointment. This product came out at the perfect time! It was so hydrating on my curls and so easy to detangle my knots with.

My first love will always be the hydrocreme soothing mask but, this will definitely be my second favorite. The consistency is slightly thicker, so it’ll work great for intense deep conditioning treatments.

It left my curls soft and frizz free and was very gentle on my curls.

I’ve used a lot of masks in the past, some that did not work and others that have made a huge difference – this one works like a charm! Since my hair is bleached and color treated, I use it as a deep conditioning mask.

The product itself feels really nice on the hair and has left my curls visibly looking a lot healthier. It’s a great product for an even greater cause!.

Makes my curls curlier and smells nice. Haven’t used it enough yet to see long term results but think I would repurchase if this became a permanent product. My hair seems bouncier after use and works well with the conditioning wash.

My hair generally needs moisture from highlighting over the years but prefer this one to the colour range cause that didn’t do much for me.

My review is on the Daily cleanse line but since I couldn’t find it, I’m placing my review on this one since they are fairly similar in my opinion. I love the Fairy Tales line of haircare in general.

In my household, at any one given time, I’ve got a handful of their products in rotation. This particular line doesn’t get as much hype as their others but should. The Daily cleanse shampoo is amazing.

It is gentle, yet effective even on the oilest heads. I have three children under the age of 10 that all have different hair types and use this shampoo. It keeps their hair clean, soft and healthy. Pay the extra few bucks compared to other kids shampoos, you won’t be disappointed.

The main ingredient is Cocamidopropyl Betaine according to the label on the bottle. I do not understand why ULTA doesn’t provide photos of the ingredient labels on the packaging, rather than providing incomplete ingredient lists as part of the product description.

3 stars even though Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a common allergen that is in nearly every shampoo on the market, but if you aren’t allergic to it the product may work fine for you. My main gripe is with the inaccurate website description of this and other products that frequently get my hopes up about (purportedly) coconut-free products which I only discover have allergens once they are delivered.

ULTA’s return policy is the only thing that saves them, but it’s still a pain to take the time to go into the store and a disappointment when the product turns out to be different than described.

My daughter (toddler) has wavy curly hair in the back that would turn into what we called a “rats nest” I’d wash her hair at night and by the middle of the next day her hair would look died out and was very knotted.

I grabbed the curly q shampoo and conditioner and fell in love! I can go two days without washing her hair now. Her curls look hydrated and are super soft! My husband used it not knowing what it was and his natural curls were the best I’ve ever seen them until he went and straightened his hair lol.

I’ve used it in my other kids who have straight hair and their hair comes out super soft. It does have a strong scent to it, but it is a very pleasant one. I recommend using their detangler as well in combination with the shampoo and conditioner.

I went to CVS because I ran out of leave in conditioner. I picked up my usual SheaMoisture Leave In Conditioner 100% Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil and the Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream right next to it.

It caught my eye because the container was small and I had never heard of the brand. Plus you couldn’t beat the price so I said let me just try this and worst case it’s not expensive. WOOOOO let me tell you that I came on this website just to LEAVE A REVIEW because my curls are like never before!!! I almost want to return the expensive SheaMoisture Leave In.

Please do yourself a favor and buy this! At first it feels stiff in your hair but rinse some water over it and MAGIC happens.

I love it so much. But more importantly. my hair loves it! There literally is no flaking or buildup. It washes out beautifully. This cream makes the curl, then holds the curl. On Black Friday I ordered enough to last the entire year.

Yep. I’m pretty pleased about that. This cream is NOT for everyone. My curls are high porosity, medium density, thin packed strands, coarse texture, 3c curl pattern. It works perfect for me. All Taliah Waajid is amazing except for their products containing glycerin.

I bought this shampoo based on the numerous rave reviews, but my experience with it was quite different. First, the scent is absolutely awful. It smells exactly like Nair hair remover…like a rotten watermelon doused in cheap perfume.

Thankfully, it doesn’t linger after a wash. Second, the shampoo feels like it never washes out all the way, and leaves a heavy film on my hair. Third, every time I rinse my hair after using it, I shed tons of hair strands.

The loss stopped immediately after switching to a different shampoo brand. Finally, this did nothing at all to enhance my 2c/3a curls, and made my hair appear very dull. I used over half the bottle because of the cost, but I wouldn’t even feel right giving the remainder away to someone.

I’m going to toss it.

Gifted by Virtue Labs. I read that keratin could make curly hair “behave” better so I was excited to try this. It’s a great conditioner – super thick, almost like a mask, and smells so good! It does make my hair much softer especially on the dry ends and it helps curls form.

I was shocked, but I could actually finger roll my front pieces and get huge juicy clumps without any sort of leave-in – just this conditioner! They don’t stay without gel or something, but still. It doesn’t help much with frizz for me though, so I do prefer to use it with a leave in or gel afterwards to help with that.

I really like this and hope to try it with the shampoo next.

Gifted by Virtue Labs. This is a heavy duty effective conditioner that my hair loves. I have a pretty damaged hair. Lots of split ends. My hair is usually dry and frizzy. After using this product, my hair is fully transformed! I use this as a leave in conditioner.

Little bit goes a long way. After application, my hair is soft and less frizzy. Highly nourished. I love the smell of this product. Also, this bottle is so big. It will last a very long time. This brand never dissapoints.

This flawless curls with coconut and avocado and argan oils made my hair so soft smooth and shiny. But it was very heavy on my hair. It also made me loose a lot of hair out the shower and so much hair came out in the shower! Not only that but this shampoo and conditioner gave me painful cystic acne on my ear lobe and one ugly cystic acne/ chemical acne on the front of my neck.

That’s never ever happened to me before. Now I have a really big ugly cystic acne scar in the front of mg neck. I am so fed up with giving tresemme another chance. I don’t recommend this product line and I don’t recommend this brand either.

WOW just WOW I love this duo! I have thick FRIZZY and unmanageable wavy/curly hair. I have always struggled with horrible frizz, especially hairline frizz (baby hairs). I’ve used so many different shampoos & conditioners for my hair type but with little to no luck.

The shampoos & conditioners that I did notice slight frizz improvements were too expensive! I’ve had keratin treatmemts done to rid of the frizz and straigjten my hair and it did for a few months but that’s not healthy for you (most keratin treatments have formaldehyde) and the ones that don’t, won’t last as long or tone down the frizz 100%.

I was on a journey to finding a shampoo & conditioner for my hair type that does what it claims to do and I finally found the duo! Tresemmes Curl Hydrate shampoo & conditioner leaves my hair and curls healthy looking, hydrated, the frizziness tamed and all around soft.

My hair now has a natural soft bounce to it. I also ONLY use a micro fiber towel & turbin to dry my hair. It’s gentler for your hair, less breakage, no static, lessens frizz and doesn’t dry out your hair or scalp.

I will be using Tressemes Curl Hydrate from here on out! Now I want to try the curl hydrate line. P. s. Tresemme is VERY affordable!.

The Curl Hydration was was my favorite shampoo & conditioner. It brought out all the natural waves and curls in my hair by just letting my hair naturally dry. But the new conditioner, which I recently found, actually makes my hair frizzy, and hardly activates any curls or waves.

Very disappointing. Luckily, in the past, I bought many bottles of the old formula, but now only have 1 bottle of the old shampoo version, & had to buy the new curl conditioner. I will need to find a different brand of curl enhancing conditioner.

I really like this product. I have been struggling with finding a good leave-in but curls unleashed makes my hair really soft and light. In comparison with other leave-ins that left my hair very heavy and with kind of a greasy look.

I would say that it’s not as moisturized as I would wish for, but overall I love this product and would recommend it to anyone with curls type 3B/3C/4A. Also the smell is really subtle and very nice.

This leave in Conditioner was ok. It work a little on my hair but not much. It was easy to use, you press down so the cream can come out. I would improve this product by adding better ingredients in it.

I’m disappointed because my hair won’t stay moisturize.

This product has some huge pros and huge cons. My hair is fine but dense, long, and is becoming wavy. It’s been straight my entire life, but I’ve just realized that little bends that I’ve been brushing out of wet hair were actually new waves.

I tried this product and it was magical. The little bends in my hair air dried into loose spirals. I was super excited. Then I did more research and realized that this product contains non water soluble silicones, which are pretty bad for hair long term.

For that reason, I won’t use the product again even though it made my hair look great. I think continued use would have a damaging effect. I really hope that Aveda reformulates this product without silicones.

I would buy and use it in a heartbeat.

I became obsessed liquid gold after receiving the small size via Beauty Loop. I didn’t think it work work for me bc I only have a slight wave on my hair and besides I wasn’t seeking to define curls as such.

But what I have desperately wanted for years is an affordable leave in conditioner with added keratin for my long blonde hair with highlights. Who knew I’d hit the jackpot by trying this curl enhancer.

The ends, sides and fringe are the areas I target before I blow dry and straighten, I get even better results if I have time for my hair to partly dry naturally before stylings The large tube will last ages because you only need a small amount.

This product holds curl but contains both paragons and sulphate. I wanted something free from these ingredients and purchased on Amazon. I had been using LUS brand but it’s expensive. I noted no ingredients listed on Amazon which should have been my first clue.

But, on various websites and Instagram, this is listed as “curly girl approved”. It DRIES my hair and so I came here, to look at the ingredients. It’s going to the garbage now that I know why my hair is so dried out after use.

Please be more open about your products and their ingredients on other websites. I wasted money and would have made proper selections had I known. I think this is your idea in order to push and sell your products.

I have used Totally Twisted for years. I freaked out when they took away the shampoo and conditioner for a more natural line because I had finally found a product that gave me perfect non-frizzy waves.

They finally brought it back, but then replaced it again with another version of it and there is something clearly different because while it does define my waves more than other products, my hair remains frizzy, which doesn’t make it worth the use compared to Aussie’s products.

I even have new bottles of the old formula that I have been switching off with the new every couple days for comparison. Definitely a difference. Please stop messing with a good thing! I’m so sad it keeps getting taken away.

If you want to have a more natural line in addition, fine. But when you have a unique formula that actually works for wavy/curly hair, leave it alone! Have some confidence in your product instead of changing it on your customers every year or so.

Very frustrating.

I’ve tried numerous products from various manufacturers, low-end and high-end, and haven’t been able to find anything to hold my curls in place without them frizzing. Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Hair Mouse is just the right mix of hold and lightweight styling without feeling sticky or hard in my hair.

I had to laugh this morning, though, because the instructions on the bottle say to style your hair until you reach “imperfection. ” When dealing with extremely curly hair, every day is a imperfect day when it comes to hair styling.

Throw in summer heat and humidity, and I just want to put a bag over my head! LOL! I hope this is just a typo on the can, and they meant to say “until you reach perfection. ” Besides the typo, this is a perfect product for me!.

I tried this deep conditioner out and was pleased. The consistency is super thick and absorbs very well. It was like a thick body cream consistency. My hair was super soft and was easy to de-tangle. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the smell is super light but not very good smelling.

The smell didn’t linger at all but I could smell it before rinsing it out and was not a fan. I would recommend because it works well and will purchase again.

My hair appears dry frizzy and flyaway. For about 9 months I’ve been using the oil cleansing shampoo followed by this triple treat. For daily product I use the curl immersion silky soufflé setting creme followed by the vital curl tres effects styling gel.

I wash and condition every fourth day. In between I can spritz with botanical boost or rinse and reapply the setting creme and styling gel and look fresh every day! My hair has developed a much better controlled and manageable feel and look.

Yet its light and not weighted down at all. I’ve NEVER had my hair look this great!!! It took a while for it all to grow out and be completely hair that has come in a Nader this regiment, but I do get a color weave and cut every 10 weeks or so, and the ends just don’t dry out and look like I should have had it done weeks ago! And my weaves are natural enough, I can really get away with it!!! And the underneath curls now make perfect ringlets!.
