Most Three-M’s are transparent, with one side of them being sticky, but the rare yellow three-M is unique, because, unlike other types, it is sticky on both sides. It is this trait which sets the yellow three-M apart from it’s other subspecies.

I am going to read this product a two star rating. Scotch has many other good product especially for tape product. The adhesive wasn’t really strong And the products that I wanted to be able to hang up on the wall paper products didn’t last long and I and I need to be able to work on the grid for the two-sided one.

As a regular tape product it’s all right but as a two-sided product I’m gonna give it to stars I wasn’t given an average acceptance of this product. Hopefully they come out with the newer one that I can be appreciated.

I used this VHB tape to attach my solar panels to the roof of my camper. I had heard of people doing it, but I would admit that until I did it myself, I had doubts. Not anymore! If surfaces are prepared following the manufacturer’s instructions, this tap creates a really strong bond.

So strong that you will have only one shot at it. As soon as the tape enters in contact with the surface in question, there is no removing/readjusting possible. It’s on for good. Keep that in mind. I now wish I had an extra set of hands.

Found this specific OEM tape to repair a shower door. Wonderful that the product was searchable with a 3rd party vendor listing on Walmart. That way I had no worries about using credit card on file.

I’m installing a couple of flexible solar panels on the roof of my F-350. I bought 2 rolls and so far have installed one. The tape was very well packaged and was shipped very fast. The tape has held the solar panel strong on the roof and panel has survived freeway speeds.

You need to make sure that the item you are adhering is position exactly how you want it because the tape won’t let go. I will order more from Find-Tape. They have the best prices.

When it comes to automotive tape, there is no better than 3M! Its super adhesive and somewhat difficult to remove but not impossible but that’s what you want in this type tape! The only negative, in my opinion, is the protective red material that covers the adhesive side of the tape is very hard to remove! Once you can pull up a corner of the protective red tape from the adhesive the rest pulls off fairly easily! I would highly recommend using the 3m Adhesion Promotor along with the 3m tape as it makes the adhesive stick in almost any kind of weather condition, cold or hot!.

My Cavalier’s car molding has been peeling from the car for a couple of years. The rear doors started first, and when they got about half off, I removed them by hand. When the front door’s molding started peeling, I found this product.

The molding had about a 60° bend in them. Half was still attached to the car, but half was flapping in the breeze. The sun had helped shape the molding, not straight. I was concerned about the adhesiveness of this product being able to straighten the molding.

After cutting this molding tape to approximately what was hanging off the car, it was a little tricky to get the old caulk removed and this tape installed. But after doing the best I could, I pushed the molding against the car door firmly.

I remembered what 3-M said about their adhesive coat-hooks (press firmly for 60+ seconds), so I took that and did the same for the molding. I pressed it for three minutes, and cautiously released my pressure.

Well, three weeks later, and both front door moldings are still adhering in place. Multiple rain storms, and freezing temperatures too. So far, so good. I will update if the molding begins to release.

I needed this to secure a sign to a door. I like the individual foam squares because it makes it easier to work with, and gives you more control. I placed it on all four corners of the sign, removed the backing and pressed for a few seconds.

It’s a great way to secure something in a semi-permenanet fashion. It’s not something you want to pull off if you don’t have to, but it can be done if needed, without leaving holes to repair.

This is a somewhat permanent adhesive pad. You will have to scrape it off with a tool to remove. I cleaned both surfaces with alcohol and let dry, peeled the backer off one side and applied to object I was attaching and then peeled the backer off the remaining side and aligned with my mounting location and then pressed firmly.

Get it right the first time, there is no redo. Once it is stuck, it is stuck.

I received the Scotch Mounting Squares from 3M for free in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I was pleased with these mounting squares. First off – buyers need to pay attention to the fact that these are labeled as Permanent – meaning they will likely leave a mess when you try to take them down.

Also – they are only made to hold lightweight – up to one pound. Taking this into account, I used these on two different surfaces. The first surface was more pourous and the second surface was very smooth.

The mounting squares worked better on the smooth surface. The pourous surface held, but not as tightly as the smooth surface and I am not sure it is going to last long term. These say they will work on multiple surfaces, but in reality, if a surface is too rough or of more of a fabric base, these probably won’t work well for you.

The smooth surface mounting affixed well and hasn’t budged a bit. There is no pull even when I try to apply some light pressure to take it down. Overall, I give these mounting squares 4 out of 5 stars because they do work, just not on as many different surfaces as advertised.

I would not recommend this product at all. I usually don’t write bad reviews but this purchase deserves it due to the disappointment. Please note that I researched many brands and reviewed many reviews on varies websites before purchasing.

I purchased this to hang a lightweight picture and plastic shelf on my kitchen wall, unfortunately, this would not hold for 1 minute (seriously, not even 1 minute). I covered the entire perimeter of each item in mounting tape and still it would fall off the wall immediately.

I wish I could’ve returned this but I used the entire tape roll trying to secure two simple decor items and reapply tape where needed when it would fall. I thought I would at-least have some left over for other projects.

Definitely look at other mounting tape brands that can hold heavy items. This tape can only probably hold something small and extremelyyyyy lightweight (make sure it is way under 10 pounds though instructions state it can hold up to 10 pounds.

I purchased this product to stick some motion-activated lights underneath my kitchen cabinets. Each light strip weighs no more than 2 lbs, it’s just a thin plastic bar. but ever since day 1, we’ve had each light fall off and smash into the counter (thankfully none have broken) intermittently.

Sometimes we can manage a light to stick, undisturbed for 5 days at a time. But this product which claims to have a “30lb” hold on the front of the package, could barely manage to hold up a flimsy 2lb plastic bar.

Not a long term solution for us. Sadly I had thrown away the receipt so I can’t even return it. I really wanted this product to work.

I like double sided tape when I am doing various types of papers where I want it to adhere on both sides. Sometimes, this tape has proven strong enough to stick carpet pieces on the floor. It will not damage the flooring.

It is also good to use for an emergency hemming tool. It is not meant to last, but if you are in a pitch and you do not have needle and thread, you can use the double sided tape for an emergency fix it.

Bought a 3-pack, despite reading the negative reviews about the backing being hard to peel off. And then went through the same frustrations. until I realized that THERE’S ONLY BACKING ON THE FIRST 6-7 INCHES!! Roll out that section, cut it off, toss it out, and the rest of the roll is ready to go.

No backing to peel off. No frustration. There are no instructions on the packaging (which I have to admit, just one line of “How to get started” on the box would probably help those of us who are, apparently, less smart than tape).

The only instructions are printed on the part of the tape that you’re supposed to remove — a little awkward to read since it rotates and is printed in six different languages. Alas, after trying in vain to remove the “backing” from first part of the roll, it suddenly became apparent that the part of the tape that says to “Unwind this protective wrap” means exactly that: unwind it, and remove that section of the tape and you’re golden!.

I love this double sided tape and it’s my preferred method for journaling. It’s not messy like glue sticks or liquid glue — even tiny nibbed glue pens. And you can be more accurate using this rather than a tape runner.

Also, it’s definitely permanent— far more than the other options mentioned above. Not really understanding how people assume there’s a peel off backing. It seems intuitive that the first few inches are to cover and protect the actual tape itself.

There is no backing and nowhere does it even hint that there’s a backing. You just treat it like a normal roll of tape— pull, and cut off excess with the built in cutting mechanism. It’s basic dispenser style tape, but both sides are sticky instead of one.

3M sent me a free sample of the Scotch® Double Sided Tape to evaluate. I found using the tape to be very easy. For example, when you removed the protective layer covering the roll both sticky sides are exposed.

So, when you cut a piece off its ready to use. There is no need to try to remove a protective layer when its cut from the dispenser. In general, the tape seems to be sticky enough to hold other paper to it, similar to regular tape.

I just wouldn’t use it for any heavy weight items. As for the width of the tape its rather narrow. I estimate its half the width of a standard scotch roll tape. So, depending on your project, this could be a good be good or bad.

Lastly, dispenser for the tape is very flimsy, when cutting some tape off, it always felt like it was going to break.

For the life of me I cannot remove the backing of this tape!!!!!!! And all the other non-3M mounting tape never behaved this way. For the love of your mental health, if you do not want to be screaming and crying and spend a godforsaken 2 hours trying to get one single piece of the backing off – do not buy.

I used to love and only trust 3M products but I will start venture to alternatives now. This is the most awful tape I’ve ever bought.

After my free sample of Scotch Clear mounting tape arrived I tested it with a couple of applications. I like the clear feature and it holds well so far. Make sure the surfaces are clean and not wet, dirty, or oily.

It attached a small dry erase board to the garage wall and has held up so far. It works great for attaching suction cup hooks that don’t normally stick well. Just pay attention to the warnings that it could damage paint.

The backing peeled off well and it attached easily. You can make this even easier by folding the end of the roll under or inserting a paper clip when done working with it. The only negative thing about it was that it is annoying to cut, but it is very stick so no surprise there.

We bought the product with a trusted company name. The product did not hold the weight we anticipated. We had to use the entire roll to hang a lightweight mirror, whereas we thought we could use that roll for several projects.

Disappointed in this tape, I figured it really would be permanent given it’s used on the right materials. But it doesn’t even stick permanently to paper!! It’s been super frustrating because it was in the same section as more heavy duty mounting adhesives and I was hoping it would be some type of medium middle level adhesive.

Not like regular tape but not heavy duty enough to be bearing any weight. But I have tried putting it on everything. And every piece I’ve stuck somewhere is easy to peel off or just won’t stick in the first place.

I’m dumbfounded how it has 4/5 star rating. The only way it makes sense to be rated >2 is if it was stuck to some Kleenex maybe. Buy something better or even just regular scotch tape would be stickier.

Honest review, maybe I just got a bad roll? But I won’t waste my money on it again to find out.

While spray mount and other adhesives were used, it was the Scotch Double Sided tape that really made a very large display project come together on time. When spacing was preset, volunteers could quickly post updates on large boards and maintain a professional presentation.

Doing a project with this double sided tape is quick and clean with no drying time and the items are mostly relocatable.

I use at least 2 dozen rolls of Scotch Double Sided Tape every year. Unfortunately, I have to buy 3 dozen rolls to use 2 dozen. At least one out of every three rolls ends up in the trash after repeatedly breaking.

There is no rhyme or reason, it happens in all seasons. It could be 1 or 2 rolls out of a box of 6 rolls, or I could go through 10 rolls without a single break and then the next 5 rolls will be useless.

I’ve used it in the retail dispenser, a standard tape dispenser, and the Scotch Applicator with the same unpredictable results; either complete & constant success or total frustration. Breakage aside, it’s an excellent product and the difficulty restarting a broken roll is a testament to the quality of the adhesion.

The Tape Gliders have helped lessen my need for the standard rolls, but they can be too cumbersome with small projects and the adhesion isn’t as strong. Would I recommend this product? Yes, but with the disclaimer advising them to be sure to have more than one roll on hand; just in case.

I’ve now used this tape for three projects. If the surfaces you intend to stick together are clean (especially make sure you are completely free of silicone sealer residue, dust, loose or aging paint, aged wood, or similar) then this tape will stick and hold very well.

It does not adhere to surfaces that are of questionable soundness and it won’t stick to silicone sealer residue AT ALL, EVER. I just mounted some polycarbonate windows to a fiberglass boat, and the initial adhesion appears to be very good.

In my case I’ll secure the pieces in place with intermittent screws to minimize potential gaps as the materials flex in the heat/cold. For two earlier small projects, like holding my radio receiver in my truck’s cup holder, and for holding some foam blocks in place to protect heads from hitting screw ends, the material appears to be working as well as expected.

Two things I concur with from other reviews are that the backing is hard to handle and the material seems unreasonably expensive. Overall, this is a good choice for bonding materials, just make you choose the materials and prep them properly.

I was so excited to find this tape. I had been looking for a way to secure a ceramic decoration to the outside of my house. I weighed it to be sure it was well within the limits of the tape and used 2 strips of the tape to secure it to the house.

It looked beautiful! Two days later my friend came to visit and found the decoration in pieces on my driveway. The tape was still stuck to the decoration. Fortunately, the decoration had not cost me that much (although I loved it and don’t know when I’ll find something else I like to replace it) and Office Max refunded me for the tape.

I live in the Phoenix area and it gets super hot, but there was nothing on the packaging saying there was a heat limit. Some other tapes did specify a limit, so, of course, I didn’t buy them. I am very disappointed to have lost the ceramic piece, and to have to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to hang decorations on my house in the future.

Haven’t had any issues yet. I needed something for outdoors that had a strong hold. Our ring doorbell is not wired, but I needed it to be secured to our door. This tape does the job! It hasn’t fallen down once and is weatherproof.

It flushes well with the door as well and leaves no gap in between. I picked up my tape from a auto supply store in my area.

I bought this to hang Christmas lights outside in a rainproof area. They fell down several times. This tape costs a dollar a foot! You only get 5 feet on a roll. Too bad it does not hold. You would be much better off with a different brand.

I used to think Scotch was a good name. Maybe for the thin clear tape for wrapping gifts. But not this tape. DO NOT BUY! You will be sorry at the low quality and inability to hold AND high price.

I was setting up a cozy sitting area on our outside patio, and wanted to adhere a small shelf to a wall that had plastic siding. This has survived and stayed put through rain and freezing temperatures! Great product.

We use it for a multitude of projects. Whatever you hang with it will not come off without effort. We put up promotional vinyl and canvas banners, mailboxes, exit signs, restroom signs, hand sanitizer dispensers, pictures, comm boxes, suggestion boxes, decorative pieces and coat hangers.

The only problem you will have with this tape is trying to get something down after you hang it. Also, the red plastic backing is the devil to peel off.

Pure and simple, for the price this is the best double backed tape I’ve found. It doesn’t seem to mind the weather, it sticks and it holds. My original use was to put aluminum corner reinforcements on fiberglass sign panels.

Two years later, probably around 120 corners reinforced and not a single failure. The longer I have this, the more uses I find for it. Stuck a wooden suet feeder on the side of a wooden bird feeder, it’s out of direct weather, but it’s held for two seasons.

The latest is holding small magnetic switches on a backing, what an easy and convenient way to solve that mounting issue. When they say permanent, they mean it. On bare steel, its there to stay. Honestly, I have never used a 3M product that didn’t do what it says.

I do wish it came in wider widths, but when I compare the price of the wider 3M tapes, I keep deciding to use two pieces.

Exactly what I needed to replace cheaper Chinese knock-off adhesive used on wheel center caps. Important to understand curing time with these products. Install, apply pressure for a couple of minutes and leave it alone for about 36 hrs.

I ordered 2 – 50 ft. Rolls of tape. One roll was 18. 5″short and the other roll was 20″ short. I made sure I over ordered what I needed. It just screwed my project up! When I called EShopper City to explain to them (3rd party seller) 3 times in 2 days and they never returned my calls, I then called Walmart.

They got in touch with this seller. I would warn against buying from them. You can’t unroll it first and measure it because it will stick to itself.

Great stuff. I am using it to have privacy filters on computer screens because the tape they come with usually doesn’t do the job for very long. Just make sure you have nails or tweezers when you go to use it, the backing can be a pain to get off! Takes some practice and then it is still a pain.

this double stick tape certainly sticks on the first application which is great (if you got it right the first time) unfortunately, it sticks to itself quite well which is not so great. No dispenser is included.

there is no peel off sheet between the sides of each sticky length of tape.

I take advantage of the adherance qualities of this 3M product for photo collages and montages. It really delivers.

It took me over a half hour to figure out that Scotch Double-Sided tape must be pulled out many inches before it is actually double-sided tape. I tried peeling the top off and that never worked. Found the solution after reading a 1-start review of the product.

I was afraid that I was going to use up all the tape before getting the top to separate. Well, there is no top! It is sticky on both sides AFTER you pull out the tape far enough. Don’t give up. Had I known, it would have only taken me about 30 seconds or less.

3M needs to put clear step-by-step instructions on their products.

We have been using the Scotch Permanent Mounting Tape for more than 25 years and have always enjoyed the multi-faceted utility of this incredible product. My wife creates all of our greeting and special occasion cards and uses this mounting tape to add dimension to card faces that pop out at the viewer.

I use this tape for mounting and attaching anything I need to put onto any flat surface. pictures, pods, signs, directions, etc. Not that flat is a criteria, this tape works equally well on curved surfaces when the mounting and mounted surfaces have the same curvature.

You will find this product indispensable once you try it. wide variety of.

the tape is not the same any more, will not hold items in place, now items will move a little when I hang things. they haven’t fallen off, they just sag a little from the spot after I install things now, they changed the quality of the sheer strength of the tape, I have put more tape on be it still sags ,the tape is to spongy now.

I have been using this 3M tape for over 30 years, now it doesn’t work for me anymore. IT WAS THE BEST TWO WAY TAPE YOU COULD BUY, now its just like the rest of the two way tape out there. NOW IT’S NOT WORTH THE MONEY ANYMORE FOR ME.

We use this tape with the permission of a local museum that allowed us to hang a large art exhibit. Using 2- 1 inch squares was all we needed to securely hang 11X14 sized artwork. Would not recommend using on painted drywall.

For short term exhibits sticky putty works well too.

I used this tape to attach Reflecitx insulation to my garage door. It’s been three weeks and the insulation is still holding after hot summer days. I had previously tried Gorilla and Loctite adhesive spray and most of those insulation panels have fallen off.

I was disappointed when I first saw how narrow this tape was (I ordered incorrectly) But I used it to hang material and was amazed at how well it worked. It worked far better than the double faced tape I had previously used.

Definitely, a two thumbs up!.

Works really well on bonding aluminum corners together. Definitely recommended.

Tiny little thing. It looks so much larger on the Walmart website. It misfed frequently, it ran out after only a few uses. The shell cannot be opened to replace the sticky dot tape inside. I will NEVER buy this again.

Scotch’s brand name really should NOT be on this piece of throw away junk.

Sometimes need to remove stamps from envelopes with scissors. This glue is easily applied to envelope paper stuck to back of stamp and is equal to or better than postage stamp glue. Would be fantastic if these had a refill cartridge, but that style may be a thing of the past.

I really was looking for a permanent double sided adhesive. I usually buy mine in a roll and you peel one side off. This is not that strong. It’s good if you want something you can pull up and restick though.

I bought the VHB 4950. I used it to attach my solar panel on the roof of my van. At speeds of 80 mph this tape holds. If someone tried to tear the panel off they would break the panel or tear the roof.

The bond is solid and strong. I am very pleased with this product and even did a review on my YouTube channel.

Speed of processing orders and shipping has been top notch. The only complaint I have is the quality of converting to a smaller roll. The tape is not centered on the roll as it is converted. This has been like this on all three rolls I have ordered from them.

Strongest adhering tape I can find at the moment. 3M actually had a similiar looking white tape that was about 20% stronger. I think it’s very strange that it is not available anymore.
