I was caught between getting the S3 and the S4, but I’m glad I made the right choice as the effects and LCD screen really made a difference for me when Deejaying knowing the timing at a quick glance.

The haptic feedback was especially helpful when finding points in tracks quickly without having to put my headphones on to search for it all the time. I’ve been using it now for 3 weeks solid now without disappointment.

The variety of inputs/outputs and scope of additional features when mixing was essential for me when pared with other equipment without needing any other adaptors/connectors or devices. The sound card is powerful yet clear in clarity that can deliver, yet adapt to mix changes and effects without compromising the sound quality.

It’s actually taken quite afew sets out my usual mixing style which im now able to spend more time searching for the next song whilst having that extra bit of time to enjoy mixing once again without feeling rushed.

Other than my laptop, this is the heart of my operation and I’m glad it beats strong A very capable yet compact box of tricks that any Deejay can appreciate and utilise. Great addition to my set up as well as looks and feels great to use too.

Definitely protect this baby with the associating flight case too. Well worth the money and tones of additional room to cram in other essentials in too. Big thanks to PMT (Nottingham) team for a warm welcoming vibe as its my first and definitely not the last purchase from them.

The Kontrol S4 is great. Gives me everything I need to mix in the way I like to. Prior to this I used CDJs, Xone92 and X1 controller for loops, cues, FX etc. The S4 wraps up all the features I used from that setup into a much neater package.

Very well built and feels high quality. Screens could be bigger though to cut down on laptop reliance. The best aspect of my purchase was PMT themselves. My first S4 arrived with damage to the box and unit.

I got in touch with customer service and they arranged a replacement, no questions asked, allowing me to drop the old unit into store and arranging a replacement around my working times. The people in store said it was likely a courier issue, however I found a box cutter (yes, a knife) within my package, so clearly someone at the PMT warehouse wasn’t paying attention, leading me to believe it was PMT not courier.

Either way, everything sorted now and I have a spotless S4 and free box cutter.

The Reloop Mixon4, in my opinion, has the BEST layout of ANY large format DJ controller on the market. I absolutely LOVE the size of the smooth, low profile, jog wheels. Most other mixers, the wheels are too small, or they are too tall.

These are PERFECT and have a very natural feel. Now for the COOL FACTOR. I use it with Serato, but I also hooked up my iPad with the ios Algoriddim Software. mind BLOWN! Imagine 4 Audio AND/OR Video tracks mixing simultaneously, with amazing video transition effects in the software, ALL AUTOMATICALLY controlled by this mixer.

I have owned this unit for just 2 weeks, so a lot to learn yet. Really enjoying it so far. Reason I have not 5 starred is, it has been around for a few years now. I was hoping to get a newer version but couldn’t wait any longer.

Main reason for choosing, needed most suitable 4 channel with ipad compatibility.

i ordered the Reloop MIXON 4 slightly used, ProAudioStar thanked me for the purchase and proceeded to tell me that if I spent $45. 00 more, I could get a brand new one on sale. I contacted them to take them up on that offer and they told me that that didnt have the new one anymore even though they were available on their site.

So they didnt honor that offer. The worst part is that I could nt even get the used one that I had already paid for, they sold that one. They told me that they didnt have anymore Reloop Mixon 4’s. They didnt honor my purchase and they dint honor my upgrade.

I RECEIVED NOTHING FROM THEM!! not even an apology. I am a radio announcer and I record on reloop products so I really wanted that unit. I have the Terminal Mix 4, Terminal Mix 8 and this was time for the MIXON 4.

I am a turntable DJ (20+yrs) but was needing a controller for mobile gigs with smaller setup spaces. After buying another brand a few years ago, it “did the job” but it definitely was not something i enjoyed playing on.

I got the rane one and within 15 min i was right at home on it. With a few minor tweaks (better slipmats/butter rugs) I can say this feels as close to turntables as you are going to get in a smaller setup.

The unit is on the heavier side (a rane one in a pro-x flight case is 65lbs) but if you are used to using turntables, its not that bad at all (DEF no where near the weight of a loaded coffin). Its not as efx heavy as some of the current controllers out there, BUT it has all the things I personally (and probably most turntable djs out there) need to rock a gig.

Cant recommend enough!.

The closest thing to turntables I have used. Denon are making strides with the SC6000m but two of those plus mixer will cost three times the price! It’s built like a brick s##t house and has some weight to it, though nowhere near as much as two 1210s.

The crossfader is pure butter ((gasp!) I tightened the tention on mine! (Easily done)), coming from an old school background I smash it around a lot. This one seems to say “thank you”, rather than groan in pain.

Only thing to mention is, coming from Traktor and using Serato is easy, however, Serato needs to be more accurate on track analysis, I have to adjust beat grids on around 90% of all music. Works with Virtual DJ, however, you need to either subscribe or pay around 170.

Come on VDJ, let’s see some discount for non commercial users! Would definitely recommend, brings the fun back into mixing. 15 years using controllers can drain the fun out of DJing, the tactial response of this brings it back.

I am using this at home to learn DJing, and it’s perfect for that, it has enough buttons and switches so you can learn how to DJ. The tempo bars are a little small, but not too small, the buttons for hot cues are also a bit small, but that doesn’t affect their responsiveness.

Overall, this is a very good controller. The jog wheels are super responsive, and there doesn’t seem to be any lag, the weight of the wheels is perfect. They’re also larger than other ‘entry level’ dj controllers.

The controller is adjustable in the firmware, with a special setup mode to change aspects of how it works. The effects paddles are an excellent feature, and I don’t know how they can get away charging so little for so much! You don’t get rekordbox or serato pro (you do get serato lite) w/ it but it works with other software that supports midi mapping.

3 band eq, filters, trim for both channels – vinyl mode and a mic input that adds to the audio stream means it’s great for streaming DJs (mic level should be a twisty on the top). Overall, if you don’t already have a dj controller, this is the one you get.

I love my new dj equipment. It’s awesome even though I’m just learning to use it but I’m learning a lot of new things that I didn’t know about mixing music. It’s a fun hobbyists for me.

Great Pro level Features. Very lite weight will definitely get the job done. Sound card not the greatest but it is Ok.

My boyfriend had the previous version of this so he already had the computer program and some familiarity with this. He has a blast. He’s not a professional DJ at all and we only use this here at home so I can’t speak to anyone wanting to use it for anything other than that, but it really is a lot of fun.

He said the program was easy to install and it was up and running in no time. This is not a device I know much about in regards to other DJ equipment out there so I have nothing to compare it to, but again I will say we have a lot of fun with it.

I can live my middle aged dream of being a famous DJ right in the comfort of my spare room. What more could you want? If your man is into that sort of thing this would be a great little surprise for him.

Mine has added all sorts of stuff and even records himself for his YouTube channel using this. So that’s gotta count for something! Honestly it’s fun. It’s no high dollar DJ equipment but for what we wanted, this is absolutely perfect.

This was my first controller after spending years mixing only with vinyl. I’ve used Numark in the past, and was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of this controller. The DJ2GO2 Touch is solid and the faders and knobs are all nice and sturdy.

The buttons have a soft rubbery feel, and retain a good level of tactile feedback without being too squishy. Due to the size of this controller, it only has the bare minimum – 2 channels, cues, crossfader, Transport/load controls and 4 performance pads – there is no EQ, filter or effects.

Given the size and price of this though, you get more than enough value for money. It more than does the job and is easily small enough to fit in your bag and take anywhere you want. It comes bundled with a copy of Serato Lite and a USB cable, which is all you need to get up and running.

I’ve had the controller for little bit over a month now, so I had time to adjust to it. At first it felt overwhelming with all of the buttons and Rekordbox software but after some time and tutorials, you can adjust.

As soon as you adjust you can start mixing things up with the effects sections and 16 pads for more creativity. A major selling point for me was 4 channels and basically having the full size CDJ jog wheels.

The unit itself has a plastic build but it feels very well built and can easily tell that it will last for years to come. The Rekordbox software has a lot of information on the screen, I do wish they added a simplified skin or set up for beginners.

If your in the market for a controller with no budget, I would recommend this controller to get the most out of all features available for the price point. With Denon Dj stepping up there game, I can see that Pioneer DJ will as well within the next couple years.

So I come from a background using Traktor and Serato as DJ Software, I prefer Traktor overall but as I’m tired of lugging gear around 😀 I’ve wanted to go to a standalone for a while now. First up the djkit pump: I had my eyes on a Prime 4 when it was first released but it’s out of my budget so I waited and when the prime 2 came out, it was still a bit pricey, then the GO and Numark Mixstream came out and I got happy, I ordered a Mixstream Pro and while it was out of stock I was happy to wait for it to come back in, While I was waiting the ‘price drop’ to 999 came in.

a stretch but I called and asked if they’d allow me to up my purchase and swap to a Prime 2 and DJ Kit graciously allowed me to do that and then sent it next day delivery. I purchased my MC6000Mk2 from DJ Kit about 7 years ago so it was about time to upgrade and so far, it’s such a nice piece of kit, everything just works smoothly, the jog wheels are amazing, the sound quality is great, it feels like it could take a tank shell.

Now the small ‘bad’ is the Engine DJ software has taken a week or two to get used to, but I have an SSD with my main collection in the Prime 2 and I just connect and manage that through the engine software on my PC, now I’m used to it, it’s pretty easy to manage.

Before I was using my library on my PC and just getting confused with moving it across to my drive in the Prime, which already HAD the collection on it (It was a backup drive) it was just confusing so I just added the backup drive (now in the prime 2) as the main collection and that’s sorted the issue as they are mirrors anyway.

Tidal integration works perfectly, so I use my phone as a hotspot and it can take a few seconds to analyse a track but once it’s in, it’s in and it gets added to your hard drive so you can use it even if offline.

I presume only if you have a Tidal account. Overall I’m very pleased with my upgrade and it’s going to get plenty of use over the next few weeks. Thanks DJ Kit and Thanks Denon. 5 Stars for the prime 2, 4 stars for Engine DJ as it STILL needs a little work.

I bought this as my previous Denon MC3000 was getting on a bit. This controller powers off your laptop so no need for additional plugs, works great off VDJ and when bought, all the drivers are ready installed for this controller.

Simple to use and good for both function and club work. My only criticism is the mic volume function. It is at the back of the controller near the audio inputs. I think this should be moved on the next design to avoid you fiddling near your audio inputs.

Other than that, great buy ant good value. 9/10.

Digitaldjtips does a great review on this ddj controller on YouTube. But here is my 2p. This is a high quality controller. I upgraded from the ddj-sb3 and so needed a serato ddj. The ddj1000-srt fit the bill.

The good. Overall great layout Much bigger tempo sliders for easier tempo matching Great feeling controls Even better fx Super responsive platters The not so good The 4 beat loop. it should either be a 16 beat loop, or the two buttons to the left should extend and reduce the loop rather than having to press shift as well.

Phil Morse covers this in more detail. That said. Using the controller is a joy overall and I would recommend it for someone looking to step up from the sb3.

For the price it’s alright, especially as a first controller, but the pitch/tempo slider will drift mid song which can really ruin a smooth transition. Not to mention the scratch button is just a decorative feature that’s only function is to light up, after about a week it stopped turning off scratch all together.

Not really sure about the auto loop feature either. wouldn’t it be a better idea to have the pads load loops attached to a track instead of eight pads to do the sole function of starting a 1/16th beat loop arbitrarily without the option to save the loop to the track? I dunno man.

Just some stuff that felt far more superficial in design than functional.

Great controller for someone getting started, pretty solid feeling controller and I really like the FX paddles. Serato lite is ok, but I quickly moved on to Virtual DJ which this controller works great with and gives you far greater configurations such as FX and allows you to use the EQ as AI stems separation.

Only things I would change – A loop encoder instead of buttons, but the buttons work just fine. Also would be nice to have more than just red LEDs, but these are just my preferences. Overall very happy.

@imnotyouraveragedj here, Directly After purchasing my first mixer the numark party mix controller to get me started, I knew I was not only taking DJ seriously but also that this journey is going to take me to places I’ve imagined and soon I’d need a controller to compliment my style.

We all know that the DDJs are in high demand across the globe and I had my heard set on the DDJ1000 from the wheels to the beat pad and colors scheme. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to take on that relationship but was quickly introduced to the DDJFLX6.

Didn’t know too much about it at all. Frankly I didn’t have it on my radar lol. My conscious said “listen to the A. M rep and purchase it!” So I did. Wow ?? is an under statement. It’s every a DJ needs especially when your you know your sound and style but need great practice and to build skill in specific areas on equipment.

The sleekness of the controller the the polished wheels and deep navy and black color, it’s light weight and demands respect in the industry with its features not only having serato as compatible software but Recordbox as well.

The DDJFLX6 gives the beginner and the veteran DJ the opportunity to showcase uniqueness and versatility without limitations. Sure the preference may very but with this controller doesn’t fall far from the tree!.

For how much I spent on this thing I really was hoping it would be a better product. Really this is just a way to get money out of people I think it looks as impressive as a DDJ 1000 in some respects, however it’s made out of a very very cheap feeling material very light, I’m apprehensive to even bring it out due to the fact that I feel if I dropped it it would be obliterated.

They try to pitch the merge effects and jaw cutter mode but really these are just hype, while the jogcutter is kind of neat I think I would have rather paid less money and not had that feature. The same goes for the merge effects which honestly even after watching people online do videos using them I don’t understand why you would put a giant pause in unless I had two decks playing at the same time I don’t know I just can’t seem to make sense of it.

Maybe I’m just simple minded or maybe I’m too busy trying to just mix the songs with the regular effects now because I can’t trust the merge effects. Once again great in concept but does not turn out too great in application as far as I’m concerned.

It’s basically the same kind of hardware as the DDJ 400 and by that I’m referring to like the knobs and faders. I had a few different numark units, and even though they were cheaper and Newmark doesn’t support their hardware very well the faders were like butter like they were the most high end I could ever have found I still think about them to this day.

Why Pioneer would not use a little bit nicer of a fader on this piece of gear I have no idea. Once again just to get money out of people’s my guess. Also they tout how it is compatible with both Serato and record box but it’s clearly just designed for rekordbox.

I have both and I enjoy using both DJ softwares for separate things but trying to use Serato with this controller is very confusing considering the fact that it is set up for rekordbox and there is no way to tell right away, no map or guide to show you how it translates.

Disappointed.

I was super excited about this product because you get alot of the features Mobile DJs are looking for in a mobile controller yet do not have to pay ALOT of money for. Out of the box it looks AMAZING.

large jog wheels, buttons, etc everything is of GREAT quality and it plays very smoothly. When i hook it up to my mac and used SERATO i knew it would bit a BIT of a learning curve so I wasnt worried about it.

I began playing around and trying to use the new mixer features only to become frustrated because it was not working correctly. I looked up other videos to try and help me and then I noticed that most DJs were using Rekordbox and not Serato to use the product.

Even though it does work with Serato, it doesnt offer the same easy features that Rekordbox offers. So unless you want to learn rekordbox id advise you to stay clear of this.

Bought this almost 10 months ago. I’ve loved DJ’ing since I was a kid (80s) and always wanted some Technic 1200s and a mixer. But for whatever reason that never happened (yet) I decided to get something lower priced to test the waters before I drop 3k on 2 1200s and a Rane mixer.

This is GREAT for the price. 1. it comes with a full version of Serato DJ Pro, no Serato video, flip or all the FX’s. But it’s a good upgrade over the non Pro version. 2. The platters are good sized, nowhere near the size of 12″ vinyl, but still bigger than a lot of controllers.

3. platters feel surprisingly good, especially considering the low price of this unit. 4. Fader’s pretty good, it’s not flimsly and it moves smooth. 5. The Roland Drum Kits are actually fun, The 808 model has an actual 16 step sequencer.

But, once you get the controls down here. You can bang out some great beats using the 8 pads, well 16 since there’s a right and left set. This is legit cool, and I don’t think any other DJ controller on the market has anything like this.

6. The buttons are laid out well and things are intuitively. While I have played with a few friends 1200 s setup a few times. I don’t know jack about DJ’ing and had never used Serato before this. While there was a learning curve, it didn’t take too for things to start to feel natural.

7. Build qualities good, far better than I would expect for $299 – with a full version of Serato Pro. It’s a lot of plastic but doesn’t feel cheap to me/ This isn’t a perfect unit, but I think for the price anything I feel it’s missing can’t be dinged by me because it’s not a high end, or even a mid level unit.

The 808 has things I wish this did, but at 4x the price I can’t be mad at what’s not here. I know a lot of DJ’s swear by Pioneer. I’d recommend this unit to someone who’s on a budget and wants to get into DJ’ing in a heartbeat.

You really can do a lot with it.

The controller is great when working properly. Setup with serato was a breeze, mine included a 3-month subscription to BPM Supreme as well as seratoDJ Pro, which are both great values and get you started off great as a beginner.

The left jog wheel on my controller becomes unresponsive at random times. It will not react to touch or scratching, and it interchanges with the Play button sometimes becoming unresponsive as well. It almost makes the controller unplayable, because it happens randomly, and as a beginner, I learned to mix with my left hand, and it’s unfortunate that I cannot use it.

I purchased one of these units in Late 2019. Throughout the pandemic there was a large gap in venues that could be performed in so I only had the opportunity to put the unit through its paces a few times during live sets.

Once restrictions were lifted and venues opened up I was able to book myself a couple of gigs and develop a steady income stream again. On the FIRST EVENT I was performing at and over eager member of the crowd rushed their way past security and managed to douse the unit with a full Margarita, killing the equipment and ending the performance early.

Upon taking it to an authorized Pioneer Repair center in NYC I learned that the board that needed to be placed, a DWX4624 “Child Assembly” control board is no longer supported and is not in production and no stock is available NATIONWIDE!! Stay away if you are risk averse and are worried about damage to your unit.

This unit, although precise and immaculate, renders the lowest review score possible because the Manufacturer failed to support the unit less than 3 years after inception. Shame on Pioneer.

My 6 years old son started showing some serious interest into DJ software and equipment so I decided to give DDJ 200 a try. I have retired from entertainment industry years ago but still feel excited about the music and technology.

I wanted to see if both, my son and I can rock that highly affordable piece of hardware that comes with nice software, too. I tested it for a few hours last night and was really impressed with the amount of features.

There is one main reason why my boy and I decided to return it: mono sound if you need to pre-cue your songs. The unit itself does not have on-board headphone jack so in order to monitor the next-up song you need to split stereo sound from your phone / computer (using provided cable) into one mono channel for main speakers and one mono channel for your headphones.

The quality of what your audience hears is highly degraded as, you know, it is a mono sound. If you are the beginner who strictly relies on the software to create that seamless transition and you don’t need to use the headphones – DDJ 200 is the perfect unit for you and you will benefit from stereo sound.

I am buying DDJ 400 once available – for $100 more it offers way more bang for the buck.

This DJ Controller has all the bells and whistles you could possibly ask for. The effects you have in a central location, while giving you the feel of operating a real CDJ. I like that it is large, but light, and recommend you get the bundle with the flight case, as it is not only the most optimized protection out there, but also gives a great look and feel.

This DJ controller’s biggest selling point for me, was that it comes with/compatible for DJ Pitch in Sync. Many of you who take mixing serious, ought to know the musical Camelot and how important it is to have that musical harmony when mixing.

If there were any issue, my only one is the loop feature. There is a way to pre-program it so the loop bars are easier to customize to your liking at the push of a button, rather than have to time when you press, hold and let go, which you should YouTube the tutorial.

So despite this slight drawback, it can still be worked around. I highly recommend this DJ controller to anyone who is serious, anyone new who wants to grow more familiar with the most current hardware, and anyone who even has CDJs and wants something quick to take on the road without putting wear on CDJs.

So I decided to pick this bad boy up. I was deciding between the 1000srt and the Prime 4. I needed up going with the 1000srt due to the the awesome jog wheels, and I must say I have been very impressed! The in board effects are killer of course the jog wheels are top notch and the led screen gives you all of the information that you need.

Now no controller is perfect as I wished that it had a place to use serato effects and though that can be fixed with midi mapping and if your comfortable with losing a channel on your 4 channel mixer.

I also wish that you can add your logo or album art work in the led display in the jog wheels, and although the on board effects are great the toggle for them can be a little annoying but you do get use to it after using the controller for a while.

The customer should also be aware that this is a stand alone mixer but not a stand alone controller, meaning you can connect turntables, beat machines, CDJ’s, ect to it and use them without serato or your computer running but you can’t not just plug a hard drive into the SRT and start djing.

Overall this is a great controller and it is the club standard I would recommend this for club djs, mobile djs, streaming djs hell all djs!.

Light weight, solid build, club standard. Easy setup. I recently downgrade from the DDJ-SZ. I loved my SZ however it’s weight when combined with fought gear was super heavy so I bought the 1000srt and it’s PERFRCT! I take this to every gig I do.

It’s sleek design and same pioneer layout as most CDJs makes it easy to use. The dual USB also allows for seamless transition when going B2B with other djs. American musical supply has been my go to when wanting new gear and able to make payments.

Getting approved for financing was super easy and will continue to purchase from AMS.

This is two first for me. my first time shopping with idjnow and purchasing a pioneer controller and both was a great experience. I have been working with the DDJ-Rev1 for about a month now and it has yet to disappoint.

Out of all the controllers I have used as a beginner dj this by far has been the best and easiest one. Im definitely hooked on both pioneer and idjnow.

This is a good board that is easy enough for beginners yet is used in small lounges one New York. This was my second board. I upgraded from a very simple Numark controller. The fact that is comes with a case is a bonus.

You cannot get a new case or this controller for a better price.

Ok, on the DDJ-SB3. This controller is a popular one and at the time of this review, it shows as its currently out of stock. WOW, very popular DJ controller. This thing is lightweight, easy to carry in a good size backpack with your laptop for on the go.

Easy to hook up to any system and Serato Lite/Virtual DJ ready! Just Plug and Play, its that easy. Again, Shout out to Allan and the Hollywood Dj crew for getting this out to me right on time for me to do a private event.

This DJ controller is a delight to mix on and pretty good to scratch on too. Value for money f’sure. Only downside is Serato Lite which comes with it isn’t a full mixing studio. The Pro version costs quite a bit more cash.

There are a few ways around it like Mixxx which is free. Otherwise, great buy.
