20 Best 4 Quart Slow Cooker (2022 Updated)

I have owned numerous Nesco Slow Cookers throughout the years. I was so excited to see this updated digital model. The price is also reasonable at Target. Cooking is a breeze to just set in the morning and by dinner time the meal is done.

Meat is cooked juicy and tender. Also very simple to use. Easy to clean with removable insert and glass lid.

The Nesco slow cooker is the perfect size for a couple or small family. Not a lot of complicated buttons and controls, just simple directions. Clean-up is a breeze. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

My proctor silex crockpot recently died (glass cover literally shattered) and I wanted to find something to replace it. It is extremely difficult finding a crockpot that is 1. 5 quart and oval shaped which is what I loved about my proctor silex one.

When I came across this one, I read the reviews and it seemed like it was a good one, so I gave it a try. I am very happy I did. So far, it has worked great and works really well on either high or low settings.

I haven’t really tried the “auto” setting but I don’t know how much I would really use that. I love how it heats things up really well but doesn’t seem to overheat as my proctor silex one did. I also love how you can remove the crock and lid and throw them in the dishwasher which makes clean up a breeze.

All in all, I am really loving this crockpot. Hopefully it will last for a really long time!!.

I am very selfish about what takes up space in my kitchen. This multicooker is worth every inch it requires. It is used almost daily – and I’ve been using it for over 6 years! Great for breakfast – deep and long enough to make bacon frying much less messy than when I do it in a skillet.

Crockpot function does all you’d expect. Really like that I can brown my meats and then switch to slow-cooking right in the same pan. It get’s hot enough to boil pasta or sautéed vegetables and the keep warm and simmer options are also used often.

I recently replaced the Teflon pan (after 6+ years of use), but it held up well and is definitely easier for me to handle than a heavy ceramic pot traditional to slow-cookers. Enjoyed and bragged about mine so much that several friends now have one.

I bought the 4-qt version of the Multicooker a few years ago and loved it, so I upgraded to the 6-qt. The 3-in-1 options are fantastic, save me time, and I can do everything I need for a delicious meal in the cooker.

I use the brown-saute feature the most, to prep beef and pork before slow cooking. When I need to steam a large quantity of vegetables for company, the Cuisinart is invaluable and easy. I love being able to program an hour or two on high (when I’m tight on time) and then the rest of the cooking on low, and the keep-warm feature ensures I don’t have to panic if I’m running late when cooking time is complete.

The non-stick surface cleans nice and easy, plus it looks great on my counter and is light enough to lift comfortably. I’ve never had a bad result with my Cuisinart Multicooker.

Bought new slow-cooker after many years of using a Crock Pot whose crock inside was getting too heavy and unwieldy for this senior. Cuisinart has a good reputation and I fell in love with a non-stick browning feature that this slow-cooker has.

I made the lemon-chicken thigh dish shown on YouTube first and it was Fantastic. My second dish is cooking today, 13-bean vegetable soup with fresh tomatoes and herbs from garden. The size is just right, the browning feature is awesome and cleaning is easy as pie.

I’ve only used it once so far, and it has more features than the crock pot it replaced. It has several settings for cook times, two temperature settings, and an automatic warmer. The warm setting can be chosen independently to reheat meals (that new for me).

It’s not as heavy as my last one, so it’s easier to lift when it’s empty or full. Be cautious of you plan to take crockpot to tailgate and use the lid fastener. The fasteners snap into action quickly.

Watch your fingers! It arrived on time using free shipping (about 6 days). I’m very happy with the crock pot and would recommend. It also came with a separate mini food warmer (maybe for melting chocolate? Or keeping fondue warm? IDK).

The exterior color is red, which is fine, but i don’t recall being offered a color choice. No matter. This was definitely a great deal.

*Like the size, can fit a decent size roast or small chicken, however, it is very heavy. *Like the clips that hold the lid on if you choose to transport it. *Love the small dipper pot included. It keeps content very hot.

I think it will be great for keeping gravy warm (nothing worse than cold gravy) *Lid rest is a nice feature, however, there are no directions in the booklet that comes with the product or online at hamiltonbeach.

com to show how to turn the bracket. It took me at least an hour or more to finally figure out how to turn it. I was afraid I would break it (fortunately I didn’t). Also, when using the lid rest, you have to reach over a very hot, steaming pot to place the lid on the lid rest.

*The HIGH temperature is very high. You must be sure to add plenty of liquid because it evaporates and your ingredients will dry out and stick to the edges of the ceramic pot making it difficult to clean.

I had to soak it for a bit first. *In my opinion the LOW temperature setting is very low. If you plan to be gone for most of the day and you want your meal to be ready when you get home, that’s the setting you want.

I placed 2 medium size, 1/2″ thick pork chops in the slow cooker, after 2 hours they were still a bit tough. *I have noticed that there is a slight gap between the rubber seal on the lid and the ceramic pot.

I believe that could also cause evaporation of liquids, especially when set on HIGH. *Personally, I would suggest if you have the time, cook your meats on low. It seems to me that cooking meats on HIGH, especially beef and pork, makes them stringy.

*This is not my first slow cooker, maybe I just need to get used to this new one, after all I have only used it 2 times.

Pros: I had misgivings before using it for the first time because slow cookers always have a stoneware insert. Right? This innovative use of an aluminum non-stick pan is a great feature. Using the slow cooker insert, I seared a roast in the insert and then transferred it to the slow cooker.

In addition to the roast, I tried a smothered chicken breast recipe and a potatoe soup recipe. Both turned out perfect. This slow cooker insert is light weight – easy to clean – and is dishwasher safe.

No heavy stoneware pot to manhandle when cleaning food remnants from the pan and no grayish stains imbedded in the stoneware that you have to polish to remove. Cons: The slow cooker timer counts down in 2 hour increments only.

You cannot set the timer to 4:30 minutes, only 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 -10. If you set the timer for four hours, you will not see a countdown in minutes, only the next jum to two hours. When it displays two hours, you don’t know if the remaining cooking time is 15 minutes or 1 hour and 59 minutes.

The only way around this is to check your wall clock at the same time as you set the timer so you know the food will be finished cooking at 2:00 pm for example. This slow cooker also has a lid that doesn’t latch down so you transport the cooker with a tight lid but we only cook for home us so that is not a problem.

I don’t understand the logic of the two hour countdown feature but this is not a deal breaker for me.

I love this slow cooker. It’s small enough and convenient enough that I use it almost every day. Sometimes twice in a day. I’ve made soups in it, rice pudding, bread pudding, casseroles, baked apples, and many other things in the short time I’ve owned it.

I spray it with cooking spray before putting food in it, and it’s easily washed. I have a larger slow cooker that is very useful, but this little dandy is my go-to for everyday cooking for myself.

I was concerned after reading other comments but for the price I decided to try it. I am very happy with the product now. It does NOT get as hot as my older CrockPot model but that is a good thing for me because the CrockPot always seemed to be TOO hot.

And, I like the “Warm” setting. All in all this does a great job. I love the ability to take out the liner for cleaning. One note – the instructions state NOT to use this for storing food on the Fridge.

I also allow it to cool down a little before washing as I believe the switch from very hot to much cooler may cause a tendency to crack the ceramic (?) liner. I would definitely buy this again.

I am rating this as good because I am assuming the slow crooker will work well. I like the various settings, including a warm setting. However, when I picked it up (ship to store) the box was a bit damaged.

I even commented on it to the salesperson. When I opened the box to use it, I found a big dent in the side of the outer layer of the cooker. I should have checked it before leaving the store, as I now have to reorder, wait for it to arrive, and make another trip to Walmart.

Moral: check your purchase before leaving the counter. I will re-evaluate when I received my new cooker.

I received this Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker a few days ago, and decided to cook a Small Pot Roast for 2 (Husband and me). Upon taking this out of box, I noticed small chips off the bottom of the white enamel stoneware insert,(this was brand new, not “as is”) I was kind of miffed, but decided that was not going to change the flavor of anything I cook.

After reading instructions (as all slow cookers vary in some ways), I looked up the recipe they had for Pot Roast (2 LB). 10 hours on low for tender meat. 5 hours on High but meat may not be tender, such as “always fill the Crock at least half full BUT no more than 1 inch from lid “.

hmm. Mind you, this has no auto shut off or digital shift to keep warm. But I KNEW that, and I was going to be home all day to watch it. After awhile, I noticed my kitchen getting really warm and I had my A/C on.

I went back to the appliance looked at it again, and noticed that the slow cooker on the front says ( HOT SURFACE) printed on the front of the unit under the lid. I felt the outside of the slow cooker and the it was HOT.

So that is where the heating up of my Kitchen was coming from. THIS IS THE EXACT ITEM NUMBER AND PICTURE I ORDERED FROM. It says NOTHING about the outside of this giving off heat on the picture OR in the description on this page.

After 5 hours of cooking this Pot Roast, as they stated it was very tough. I turned it down to low and had to let it go for another 3 hours. That’s 8 hours of heating of my kitchen that I could of used my stove top, less time, less heating up the kitchen.

I realize this is not an expensive purchase, but all these appliance have come way down in price. I had my other one for years without ANY problems until recently (which was my own fault, cracked the insert).

This product is misinformation and I should receive my money back for this. Personally, I would never leave this on and leave the house, BUT that is only MY opinion. Truly very disappointed in Hamilton Beach and QVC for not noticing the very important information that the outside becomes hot.

I am NOT going through the hassle of boxing this up and paying for shipping back to QVC. I did take a picture of your site and what I received, so if it suddenly appears (the CORRECT information) after this review is printed, I will have documentation.

I purchased this crockpot to replace the much larger one I have. I gave away the larger pot so I was excited about getting this. I read a review that there was no warning stating the outside would be hot, aside from common sense, there is clearly a stamped warning “Hot Surface”.

Having said that, I love this pot, it is exactly what I was looking for and needed. I love the smell of food cooking all day in a crockpot but love the results even more. It is a nice looking pot and I advise you to get it.

Just arrived. I have not used it yet, but the size is perfect for me. The lines are clean. I wanted the white because it is easy to clean, and see when it is not clean. I dislike the black and this was the ONLY white crock that was available.

I have had several Hamilton Beach crock pots and they are excellent. However, they were all too big for me now. This is perfect size for a chicken, or other slow cooker projects. I do not care what they say.

nothing is better than a slow cooker for flavor. this comes from an 80 year old cook, who’s cooked it all from chickens, beef, venison, and it all better in a slow cooker.

I have used this for 3 months and have used several of the functions: pressure cooker, flex, simmer, saute. My most used is the Flex function. You can set the temperature at high, low, and a specific temperature.

I mostly use this cooker to make soups. There is no staining as some users have commented. Unit comes with a user manual and recipe book. Recommend Flex low heat function to cook rice ,not the pressure cooker function.

I use a plastic microwave cover as a top instead of the pressure cooker top to keep the water from boiling off. The saute function also works great. Hint: Turn unit on and let stainless steel removabable bot to get warm, then add a little oil.

Experiment with different functions and you will quickly learn what works best for you. Most of the functions also have a timer setting.

Love the machine and have been using it on and off (2-3 times per month) for about a year. However, after browning chicken and then adding liquid, switched to pressure-cook, started for a minute or so, then.

no power. Cord + outlet were fine. Diagnosing turned up that it overheated and the internal fuse blew. No way to reset, had to finish in dutch oven. Zavor support was OUTSTANDING. Received a new cooker within a few days.

I found some videos online on how to replace the fuse, fairly straight-forward for a handy person, but not something you want to do while making a meal. If this can happen so easily, they should have a breaker switch and a reset button.

When my old Go-Wise multi-cooker gave up the ghost, I researched multicookers and chose this Zavor model for two reasons: 1) Because of its high ratings on Consumer Reports and America’s Test Kitchen; 2) Because it had a yogurt making function that looked like it would take the guesswork out of making yogurt.

Turns out, no matter how long I incubate the yogurt, it never gets nice and tart. Also, the manual states that the temperatures will be maintained only if we use a half gallon of milk, which is more than I need most weeks.

So I’ve returned to making my yogurt as I have for years. It’s actually easier and less messy that way. Then there’s the beans. I cook dried beans in my multicooker at least twice a week, often more.

This cooker takes much longer to cook them and does not cook them evenly, as my old cooker did. I’ve resorted to soaking the beans for an hour prior to cooking—something I never had to do with my old cooker or on the stovetop—and they still do not cook evenly.

I have not yet soaked beans overnight, as the manual suggests, but that is an extra step I have not had to take in forty years of cooking beans. The first time I made soup in the cooker, the vegetables did not cook tender.

We like our soup vegetables al dente, but these were almost crunchy. I’ll make soup in the cooker for the second time today, a bean and ham soup, so with few vegetables. If I remember, I’ll come back and tell you how it went.

Yesterday, I used the simmer function for the first time. I was making ham stock and needed to simmer it for 6 hours. The cooker only has a 2-hour simmer setting, so I had to restart it after 2 hours.

After just 4 hours, however, the meat had fallen from the bone and the stock was savory and fragrant. So Fail on not being able to choose a longer simmer time, but Success on not needing the full six hours! As I gain more experience with the machine, I will update the review.

Compared to my much less expensive old Go-Wise, which was a dream to use—and a cooker I frequently used twice a day for one thing and another—this one is a disappointment.

I love this Crock Pot. I’ve made all kinds of meals in it they’ve all turned out delicious. My favorite thing is a good pot roast. Although this is a smaller pot, it still fits enough to feed 6 easy with plenty of helpings leftovers.

We eat a lot. This pot has also seen many work parties, baby showers, get togethers parties. It’s been thru hell back and is still going strong. This one has been in my family over 16 years.

Super easy to use and very convenient to have around to make pot roast and beef stew. Love how it’s basic and doesn’t require too much work and still be able to eat delicious food. Especially useful for those thanksgiving dinners/huge family dinners.

While head is busy elsewhere preparing other food this product is sitting by the side simmering away worryfree. Highly recommend!.

The Slow Cooker is great for lazy days. Just get a slow cooker recipe and toss it in and mix so everything is cooked properly with spices seasoning spread around. I waited for a sale to buy mine so it was worth it.

It’s easy to use. Mine has 2hrs, 6hrs and 8hrs. Hit which ever one the recipe calls for. It uses very little energy. So it’s gentle on your electric bill. Soak it to clean the inner pot easier. Yes I would recommend buying one.

Although I have to admit I don’t use mine as often as I could.

I thought this would be tiny but it’s very spacious. It’s nice and wide. I got it in two days by FedEx, registered it with Crockpot. com for 1 year warranty and also purchased the Allstate insurance, hopefully it will last.

Seems to heat-up super fast, 6 minutes I was at high temp. I see the directions say 10 hours is the max to run this and I will! It’s so nice and wide, I thought it was oval and round at the same time.

It’s not just tall and round, very spacious. I put 2 cups of hydrated pintos in it and it was on half where it should be. Don’t overfill these things, you will get problems. I am just very impressed and the price, oh my gosh, I am going to order a second one and put it away for future.

This 4. 5 Quart is just a great size. I am very happy with the customer support from Target online Chat and this product.

Got this for my birthday. My first thought was, Wow, this is tiny! But it turns out that this crock pot is perfect for one- or two- person meals. I especially like making things like refried beans in it.

I don’t soak the beans, just toss them in the pot with broth, spices, and maybe some bones or bacon. Then I sneak in some chopped vegetables and let everything cook on low overnight. Next day, I use my immersion blender on what’s in the crock pot, and we have delicious refried beans.

I am iñ a wheelchair, and don’t like wasting my time. So, I expect the things in my kitchen to be easy to use, easy to clean, and help make food that people love. This does it all.

I had a 4 qt. crock pot ( brand name) since 1992. ( 30 years old!!!) I loved it and cooked tons of meals in it. It just got too old. The cord was damaged and the inside was not shiny and would get stains, so I just threw it away.

I ordered this one from Walmart recently. Somehow I got part of my order( an electric skillet) but not the crock pot. I chatted with a rep who told me something went wrong with the order and to reorder.

I decided to reorder somewhere else. I found a package on my doorstep today from Walmart and it was the crock pot. It was in a huge box. It was in its box also, but with extra tape. I don’t believe it was damaged in transit.

When I got it out, it had a 4 inch gouged out scratch on the front. Not too cute! I will have to look at this for the next 30 years, if it and I last that long. My other one fit in a smaller space for storage, and also this one’s lid does not fit as securely.

However, I think I can fit a small whole chicken in it better. It is good to feed a couple of people. I like to fix pinto beans in it a lot. But I don’t feel like ordering it again, so I’ll just keep it.

( And now I have ordered another brand from another company. I’ll keep it, too). I. But there was a misunderstanding somehow on my order. The rep couldn’t even track it. Walmart does deliver fast, however.

Updating all my slow cookers recently. I bought this one for its size. A long-time slow cook, this one is great for stewing salsas, pesto, sauces, soups bases all day or overnight. Perfect Mac n cheese for 2 8 Versatile and can do!.

Great little pot for making a small batch of soup or meal. Also great for reheating stuff. I hate to clean my glass stove top so this is my go to for avoiding that. Only 4 stars because it does make your counter top hot.

Please put a cutting board or silicone mat under it to protect you countertop.

I think I bought this at Walmart many moons ago. I’ve never had any issues with this slow cooker and it works like a charm. I’ve tried everything from stews to soups to pulled chicken. What could be better than a one pot meal that practically cooks itself? Just set it and forget it for a few hours.

I can’t complain. This slow cooker works great.

I love this slow cooker. You really don’t need some fancy dancy slow cooker in order to create delicious slow cooker meals. You only need one big enough to accommodate your cooking needs. Sometimes I find even this one is a little big, but it works great.

It’s affordable and very multipurpose. I suggest everyone have one in there household. They do make a variety of sizes so choose whaT works best for you and your space.

So I got this slow cooker as a perk from a furniture store. If you buy anything over $100, you can purchase up to five slow cookers for only $5. I really did not need another one, but hey it was $5! So I grabbed one thinking it will be a nice gift for someone.

Well, a couple of weeks after that, my original slow cooker cracked. I was sad but it served me well for 4 years. Good thing I have this extra one lying around. This slow cooker is pretty easy to use.

Doesn’t have a million buttons that will confuse your grandma. I use it at least once a week. Set it up in the morning and I’ll have chili or pot roast ready for dinner by the time I get off work! No more stressing about what I need to make for dinner every single night.

I love my little Crock Pot so much! I have had it for years, going on about 10 at least, and it still keeps working great! It is a little bit small, but it’s perfect for my little 2 person family. I love that I can get up and throw something in there in the morning, and then dinner is ready with no fuss at all.

You can make anything in it, from breakfasts to dinners to desserts. I am thinking about getting a larger model for entertaining purposes, but with the whole pandemic going on I have a whole before I have any large gatherings again.

The design is so simple and easy to use and clean. The only thing that I get a little bit annoyed with imsometimes is how heavy the pot is. If I accidentally drop it when I’m washing it, it makes the loudest noise in the sink.

I wouldn’t even really call that a complaint. They are super affordable, and they last forever. I highly recommend Crock Pot brand slow cookers, and will be repurchasing when I decide to get a bigger one.

I have one of these. They’re such a great product! Who doesn’t like using their crackpots, especially now that the weather is getting cold. Super easy. You literally throw your dinner in the crockpot.

Set the heat. Then bam. 4 to 8 hours later you have dinner.

I ordered this and the 3-1/2qt Cuisinart for comparison with the intention to keep one. This one looks very nice, lid fits well, metal (not crockery) handles stay cool and the outer housing is far less hot to the touch.

To test the crockery I put a very small amount of water on high for several hours two separate times without incident. I then put a full pot of water on high to test the temp which was 212 degrees and produced a gentle boil, perfect.

After several hours on low the temp was 185 degrees, no boil and again perfect. The same test on warm produced 165 degree water. At the end of your programmed cook time the unit automatically switches to warm.

It can also be manually set on warm but without a programmable time (because it is not meant to be used for cooking). I cooked a pork loin roast in both brands and both turned out delicious. This will be a difficult decision.

I will rate the Cuisinart separately.

My previous “crock pots” were of a much earlier design and simplicity. That said, there is a bit of a learning curve with this slow cooker in terms of use, & timing of various ingredients. Easy set up & use instructions; I like the keep warm function a lot! Small 4 qt Slow Cooker is larger than I expected.

Nice size for two or three people with a bit left over for next meal, or snack. Very nice looking appliance.

It’s soo good! I just dump all my ingredients and set it in low or high (depending) for the number of hours; poof delicious meal!!! It’s a staple in my house. So many delicious meals can be made!! Cooks well and easy to clean.

This crock pot is fantastic: lightweight, cooks perfectly overnight, base to refrigerator: so easy does not take a lot of room in fridge, reasonable price, cooked a roast for three that said, there was not a lot of room left for veggies so I had to cook some separately, great for cooking for 3-6 people, have not washed it but I think it will wash easily w/no problems of sticking.

My ancient metal crockpot finally rusted through so I had to replace it and thought I would try one that could go in the dishwasher. This unit was a life-saver the first weekend I had it as guests came in and I was a cooking machine for 3 days straight.

Worked great and just the right size. There is one thing that takes getting use to : I really liked being able to brown my meat on the stove first plus I could get my meal piping hot before putting on the slow cooker.

Decided to just dirty a second pan and that works fine.

This is my second Hamilton Beach slow cooker of this model. In moving, I broke the other one, so I hunted another just like it. It is the perfect size and cooks evenly with no hot spots. Love it!

I purchased this to replace a slow cooker that I had for thirty-some years so I was unsure if I would be happy with any slow cooker. I can say I am very happy with this Crock-Pot slow cooker. It is the round version, not oval.

This is what I wanted because I love the round slow cookers and that fact that it is just basic. No frills or unnecessary digital timers. I was not sure if the silver color would appeal to me but it really looks nice and classic.

The owners pamphlet that came with it says that on the initial use you may smell a strange scent but that is normal and will go away with use. Let me tell you; it does smell on first use and I mean enough to make you puke.

Glad I’m doing it with the windows open. I don’t know if I would be too thrilled using it the first time if all the windows are shut because it smells really bad! Overall a great purchase.

Interesting. Reading the reviews, many people received the round one when they ordered the oval, I ordered the round one and received the oval. I am so disappointed in this purchase. It clearly states ROUND and they sent the oval, and it is bigger than I wanted.

I am waiting for them to contact me so I can either return this item or get the item I actually ordered sent to me. It really causes you so much doubt when you order something these days as to whether you will receive the correct item.

The oval one is not even mentioned in this description, so it seems like it should have been an easy thing to send me the correct ROUND item that I ordered!.

Perfect size for a 1 chicken dish’ like chicken and rice. I had some left over and froze what was left because It is just for one person in this house. I have a bigger size 6qt and I only use that for really big dishes that require alot of room.

The advertisement for this 4qt crock lists it as round in the title and at the end of the description lists it as oval. I received a round crock but some of the reviewers have received the oval. Mine came a little offset and rocks a little but not enough to affect the heating element and my dish cane out fine for the price.

I also have the little fondue crock and that is great for hot Chili and melted cheese and dips. CROCKPOT is a good brand.

I have owned 3-4 slow cookers; one was a programmable Cuisinart. and the other two were CrockPot brand. This one beats them all. It cooks steak, pork chops, soup, and chicken perfectly. Nothing has been overcooked, there are no hot spots, and everything I cooked tastes the way it should.

The warm feature is nice as well. This Proctor Silex 4-Quart Slow Cooker is the best value on the market! What it lacks in style it more than makes up for in performance! Easily the best crock pot I’ve owned.

If I could give the mini slow cooker zero stars I would. They are unsafe & Toastmaster doesn’t want to take accountability for their faulty product. This little crock broke into a perfect circle separating the bottom of the crock from the rest of the crock.

I have pictures but apparently Toastmaster frowns Upon pictures & will take down your review that includes photographic evidence.

This little slow cooker is a must have for any kitchen. We do have a large family, but this slow cooker is perfect for making dips, sides and other meals. Not only has it been great for my home, but it made its way to the camper already once! So it’s very useful if you own a camper to.

It’s the perfect size and doesn’t take up much space at all. Especially if you don’t have much room counter space your travel trailer. It has handles as well, they don’t get hot. It’s very simple to use.

As well as easy to clean. I find my self using poking appliance a lot more then I was expecting. But it’s made very well, durable. The kid is a perfect fit. It’s also strong. And still has a nice appeal if you want to leave it on your counter.

It’s still big enough to cook small roasts and other foods. I love to make my mash potatoes in it to. All in all I’m more then please and I would certainly recommend.

I bought this on a whim, since I have 3+ quart sized crock pots but they always lead to too many leftovers: this was perfect. 1. 5 quarts is just right for 2 servings of stew, etc: I was also thinking it might be neat to try the found-everywhere crockpot roast chicken scaled down for a game hen, though I haven’t done that yet.

There was a slight chemical odor from the heating unit (which the manual warns about) on my first use, but I haven’t noticed it since. Love this, great for 1-2 person households.

The Breville Fast Slow Go looks and works like a high grade and professional cooking machine. The machine is durable and well made with stainless steel, including the removable inner cooking bowl and trivet.

The exterior is modern and has a lot of useful preset function buttons for cooking a large variety of foods. The machine is large capacity and can make larger meals. I was a little intimidated about the concept of pressure cooking but this machine is very easy to use and pressure cooking makes meals quickly.

Both my husband and I have cooked really elegant dinners for our family in under 30 minutes. My family as a rule eats dinner together and we are always in a time crunch so this really cuts down on the cooking time and stress at meal time plus everyone is really enjoying the food.

The food cooked in this does taste better than food cooked in other cooking appliances. I think where this machine is exceptional is it masters cooking temperature and has a variety of ways to control the pressure so the food cooks perfectly.

Another plus is it cuts down on all the pots and pans I normally use and is very easy to clean. I have some wonderful cooks in my extended family and those that have seen this and been over for a meal have really been complementary and interested in getting one for themselves.

I couldn’t be more impressed and would highly recommend.

I wish there were more recipes. We would like to roast a whole chicken but got scared when we put it into the unit and pulled it out and put it into our Breville Smart Fryer Oven. It turned out beautiful in that.

This weekend I am going to try a chuck roast with vegies in the Fast Slow Go and we’ll see how it goes. We need a book of recipes, that’s for sure. Plus we found the manual that shipped with the Fast Slow had incorrect diagrams of the way the pressure spout should be placed.

We called customer service and they directed us to an updated manual online which showed the correct placement so now we have a valid manual.
