20 Best 4K Non Smart Tv (2022 Updated)

I bought this to replace an 8-year-old flat 55″ LG LED TV. Picture: This is my first 4K TV so I won’t comment much on the picture quality. It looks amazing, but I can’t say whether it is better than other 4K TVs.

I was shocked at how good even standard HD (1080p) looks — the 4K upscaling really works. From certain angles I can see a bit of light bleeding around the edges when the picture is very black. Sound: This TV sounds great with the native speakers.

The audio is full and rich and there’s no distortion at high volumes. Much better than the LG LED TV it replaced. No need for a soundbar unless you’re really into a high-end audio experience. Software: Make sure you know your Google (and WiFi) password before you begin setup.

In fact, make sure you have Google Home installed on your phone and you’re logged in. If you have all of that ready to go, setup is pretty easy. The Google interface is fine, though it does force “suggestions” on you that I wish I could get rid of.

Hardware: It’s a little thicker and heavier than the LG it replaced, but I imagine this is due to the build quality that Sony has always been known for. If you are wall-mounting, make sure to screw in the extenders that come with it.

The screw holes are recessed in the back and I didn’t notice the extenders and had to go to the hardware store for some extra-long M6 screws. Otherwise, I was able to install this on my existing mount fairly easily.

Remote: The remote is pretty basic but I was pleased that it can control the main functions of my cable box. I wish it had a couple of more buttons — cable box power and last-channel, to be specific.

The voice command feature works well.

I was not pleased with this TV, primarily due to the software/operating platform. My kids’ top used app right now is HBO Max and this app would not run properly on this TV’s software. Other apps worked okay but there was still lagging and delays with overall performance.

Likewise with the remote, the TV was slow to pick up the signal when pressing buttons from the remote control. I would push a button and nothing would happen so then I would push it again, and the TV would execute the command twice which was pretty annoying (e.

g. , press the arrow right button to go to a specific app, nothing would happen so press the arrow right button again, and it would move two apps over). The other complaint I have is with the phone app that Samsung insists you must download.

I was inundated with a ton of ads to purchase upgrades and additional services and never could quite get the actual app to work properly. Many of the features in settings were unavailable to me and I never figured out why.

For example, when Best Buy came to pick up the TV (I returned it for reasons stated above), I realized I neglected to log out of all of my apps. I tried to quickly do a factory reset of the TV, and the option was unavailable to me.

There were a couple other instances where Samsung directed me to certain features and options in settings to fix XYZ issue that were also unavailable to me (can’t remember off the top of my head what they were).

I have wall mount hardware that was used for my prior TV that included universal screws to attach the mounting brackets. The instruction manual specified a certain size screw, but the specified screw was too short to attach to the brackets.

I ended up using a screw that was a couple mm longer and it worked out quite well. I read many of the one star and negative reviews on this TV and noticed how Samsung frequently came back with the fact that this is a budget version TV and not intended to be at the level of quality of their more expensive models.

Fine, but sell a TV that has software that works properly. I replaced this one with a different brand and did further research on the operating platforms. I was not impressed with this software (Tizen) and will be sure to steer away from all TVs or products using this platform in the future.

Ordered 75 inch Samsung smart tizen led on 12th July. was delivered on 20th July, as scheduled (awesome, 5* rating). Points I noticed: 1. The TV was kept upside down in the transportation vehicle when they got it out.

It’s transporter responsibility to keep it Right side up (0*). 2. The movers got it inside home in correct side up. Opened infront of me. Took pictures. Took signatures (5 to 6 signatures and I don’t know where I signed.

I was not given time to read. Not right standards. 0*). 3. Bestbuy should ensure that they allow time to plug the TV and check the screen. Majority of sophisticated TV’s have damaged screens as I read from various review channels.

If they wud have waited 3 minutes, it could have saved time because the Screen has internal bloating (refer pictures). Now I have to wait for them to allot time and pick it back again (waste of time).

0*. 4. In a proper boxed condition, if the screen has lines, then either the packaging was not proper which led to the screen getting damaged while transporting or the TV was faulty from beginning, which is Quality Check responsibility.

Who’s responsible here, Bestbuy or Samsung? 0* 5. I have to wait another 10+ days to get another set and don’t know if that is excellent or again faulty (it’s a nightmare to think). 0* 6. Storage: it’s a 75″ TV with extra spacing for box.

As unpacking was done by movers, i wasnt sure how to pack it back. Anyhow, gogle helped. Now, I have to store it until next piece arrives. Had to make large vacant space to store. Loss of space. 0*. Samsung and Bestbuy, they both need to upgrade their standards if they offer transportation.

I don’t know whose fault was this, but as a customer, I lost my TIME (time is precious for me), storage space and no TV unless the next piece arrives. it was an anniversary gift to my Spouse and now it’s in VAIN.

My surprise to my Spouse, gave me a surprise thru bestbuy/Samsung. But I still trust the Samsung brand as I have been using it from decades. considering human errors I am giving this one more chance to keep the trust on Bestbuy and Samsung.

I was extremely impressed with the picture and features on this TV, so much so, that I purchased a second unit for my Garage. Very sharp and high resolution with great color rendition. Very intuitive navigation software is easy to use and packed with great features.

The initial setup routine prompts guide you through the startup-configuration process seamlesy. The setup took less than 10 minutes and automatically downloaded and installed the available firmware updates.

I use both of these TV/Monitors with multiple inputs: Digital Antenna (Local TV Channels); HDMI – Blu Ray Input; Ethernet Internet (Hardwired) Streaming; HDMI-PC Input; USB – External Hard Drive Access and even Wi-Fi – for Streaming from my Smartphone – all function flawlessly.

The exceptional Input Reception Sensitivity for the integral Digital TV Tuner allows me to receive Air Channels which my older TV would not display due to low threshold signal strength. The free Samsung Digital TV Channels offer very good program content and is an added Plus.

This TV affords a lot of “Bang” for your “Buck” and outperforms many higher-priced TV’s and is a cut above many Competitors’ models based on my research. One thing that I wish Samsung would offer is a provision for storing an electronic copy of the comprehensive version of the User Guide directly on the TV proper (I use the USB-Connected External Hard Drive to view my downloaded copy of the User Guide for ready-reference).

GET ONE OF THESE TV’s!.

I purchased this TV with the intent to play Nintendo Switch games and stream shows and movies using the built in apps. So far it works well, and I haven’t had any issues with the image quality, aside from “HDR 10+” sometimes causing peoples’ skin to turn bright red or orange in certain spots, which I noticed while watching 4K HDR content through Prime Video.

This is not my main media machine, so it functions well when I just want to play games or watch media on a big screen. DISPLAY: I’m guessing the TV is true 4K, as all the streaming apps that have 4k available automatically stream at that resolution.

It’s pretty good for when I want to see Richard Hammond crash again and again in 4k on a big screen. Like I previously mentioned, the HDR is somewhat “meh”, causing some minor coloring issues, and there is no option to disable it.

If great HDR is what you’re looking for in a TV, this isn’t it. If you don’t care for HDR content, this TV is good enough. The default color accuracy isn’t that great, and you will need to adjust the colors yourself.

The TV comes with an expert color tuning mode that I didn’t use, since the basic settings were enough to get the colors I wanted. GAMING: I’ve only used my Nintendo Switch with this TV, but I’ve had no issues using it.

Just note that the TV uses some kind of upscaling to match the Switch’s 1080p output to the 4k display. Interestingly, I think switch games look better on this 55″ 4k-upscaled output compared to my 24″ 1080p gaming monitor.

INPUT LAG: If you plan on playing any fast-paced or fighting games, like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, MAKE SURE THE PICTURE IS SET TO GAME MODE. The input lag is unbearable on anything other than game mode, but once game mode was active, the input lag was almost identical to my gaming monitors.

STREAMING: The OS is fairly decent, with the downside of lagging with certain apps I’ve tried, such as Crunchyroll and Prime Video. There’s a second or two delay when navigating the menu in Prime Video, and in Crunchyroll, the app is just short of freezing when you try to exit out of playback.

Other apps, such as Apple TV and YouTube work very smoothly. I have not tried other streaming apps, but I can attest to the performance or lack thereof of these four apps. I would recommend using a game console or a dedicated streaming stick over using the built in Google TV OS.

One negative side to using Google TV on this TCL is that TCL forces you to sign in or create a TCL account in order to access Google TV. That’s another account you have to create and another company you have to entrust information to.

That’s about the only big gripe I have with this TV. OVERALL: Pretty decent TV for when I want to watch stuff or play games on a big 4k screen. Google TV can be a little sluggish, but you can always get a dedicated streaming device and plug it into the TV.

The HDR isn’t that great.

So far so good. There are so many choices out there at so many price points and so many options that I circled for quite a while. I finally decided to purchase this TV and I’m very happy with it. It’s got a beautiful picture, it set up nice and easy, The remote is not too big for my hand which may sound funny but for some of us it’s a consideration lol.

I like the versatility of what’s available on it and what you can do with it I haven’t had much opportunity to explore a lot of it but if I’m not complaining up front it can’t be that bad. The only negative so far that I may have come across which is only negative based upon the mount that I already have from my previous TV.

The mounting holes on the back of the TV are very low to the bottom. A wall mount I have uses two separate rails attached one on each side of the mounting holes. I mounted it as far down the bottom of the rail as I could but the TV still ended up 6 in higher on the wall and the previous TV of the same size because it’s mounting holes or towards the top.

And the scheme of things it’s not terrible except I don’t have much wall left to raise the picture that its now blocking. So just be aware of how you want to mount and hang your TV even if you don’t get this one We look to see if the holes are spaced appropriately for what we want to do but I didn’t really pay much attention to where they were located on the TV set.

As for the size as a man I wanted the 75 inch TV It said my blood but it was obscene It was so big for the wall as with the 65-in have been. The 55 was really the best for the room size even given the upgrades from the 4k And that combined with the lower price made this an even more appealing choice.

finally, as the cherry on top it was delivered right into my office where it hangs now within 2 days and for free. Can’t beat that!.

Bought this but I’m debating what actually it does better over the $125 cheaper recent Android TV model I was planning on returning (or a similarly priced TCL Roku TV). My major motivation was integration with Google Home but also upgrading from 1080p.

(1) Fast on functionality doesn’t appear to include wifi and ethernet connection so nothing but a fast on attached roku or other dongle can turn it on by voice. Wasn’t fixed over Android TV. (2) Google Home streams Apple Music with subscription but sending it to this TV and my non-Atmos/DTS+ sound bar is horribly choppy.

(3) Google Assistant on the TV and it’s integration with Google Home system has been working poorly, has been unresponsive and I can’t figure out why. It’s worse than previous generation Chromecast with showing connected services like camera footage.

Nice that it adds Dolby Digital Plus and eArc should those be of value (not with my soundbar!), certainly an upgrade over 1080p in terms of video quality. Appreciate that it does do digital audio pass through.

If it doesn’t work better with Google Home, really seems that overall package is less than a TCL Roku TV plus an Chromecast or the older Android TV (or maybe even smart 4K TV) with a 4K Roku box. Definitely consider if relevant, some of these things may get worked out but clock is ticking.

I purchased this TV on sale from Target during Black Friday 2021. For the price, the TV is an excellent value. The TV was packaged well, with no issues noted during my unboxing. I mounted the TV, but noticed the included feet were a solid metal with nice matte coating.

They looked sleek and should serve you well should you choose not to mount your TV. The picture quality is good, but not great. Viewing the TV from the side, the edges appear a little washed out with a white glow event with the backlight setting at its lowest.

The TV looks best when viewed head on. There was also a small bright spot in part of my screen, which the manual acknowledges as a possibility and not a defect. It is virtually unnoticeable unless the area of the picture is black.

Standard picture settings can be adjusted including, contrast, sharpness, brightness, and color. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and depending on the room the TV is used in, may not require an additional soundbar.

The inclusion of Roku is the main reason I purchased the TV. In my opinion Roku offer the best user interface and streaming capabilities. I am glad to that Element partnered with them for this build.

So far, I have not had any issues with the TV and have enjoyed using it. I am happy with my purchase.

I bought this TV on a deep sale and use it as a 4K PC monitor for productivity. The screen real-estate is phenomenal, of course. What was a pleasant surprise was the solid black levels, very minimal edge backlight bleed, and minimal blooming around bright objects.

Both my laptop and desktop drive this at 4K 60 Hz over HDMI without issue. And I’m not even using great HDMI cables. The response latency is acceptable for productivity work, though I’d hesitate using it for gaming.

No dead or stuck pixels noted after running through primary color and black/white tests. Very sharp. Viewing angle is good for a monitor, but you’ll notice fading quickly if off-axis (worse above and below than side-to-side).

The remote is good and responsive – Smart Roku TV features are fairly snappy and wired ethernet is a plus. Going on about 3 weeks. I can’t pick many faults at all with this TV for my intended use! If I had to pick one thing, the HDR experience is underwhelming.

In fact, I didn’t notice or expect this to have HDR. But otherwise colors are rich and blacks are deep, text is sharp and there is no jitter or flicker when used as a monitor. I easily recommend this TV, especially if you find it on sale.

This is my 2nd Element TV. I had the other one for about 10 years. I had a good picture. One day recently while watching TV I heard a pop when the screen went black. That was it as it was dead. I thought it should have lasted a few more years.

Anyway, I added a sound bar to the old TV because the speakers on the old TV were horrible. I plugged the sound bar in the old Element TV into the 2 – RCA female plugs on that TV. The new Element did not have the RCA option for a sound bar.

I had to buy an adapter to use the sound bar. I realize that technology changes, but maybe Element could have waited another 5 or so years before discontinuing to put the female RCA plugs on their TVs.

Just Saying. The speakers are better on the new TV, but in my opinion still needs a sound bar. As far as the Roku, I do not like the fact that what ever I was watching when I turned the TV off does not come back to the same place (Satellite TV, Chromecast, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

) when it is turned back on. Maybe you could put an option in the setting to let it come back to the same place it was when the TV was turned off. It is annoying to have to go back and select the option of how & what I want to watch every time I turn the TV on.

I purchased this TV to replace a 55″ Vizio bought in 2019. I like Vizio, but I am disappointed that they don’t seem to last long – so this time I went with an LG set. My viewing room is rather dark, and I have a Vizio 5.

1 soundbar. The Picture – I wasn’t too impressed at first, but I looked at several YouTube videos on how to set up the TV for the best picture. The concensus is to select the picture setting of “FILMMAKER” if it is available.

It is on this set, and I like it. FILMMAKER yields the most accurate colors according to the video experts and it works fine in my room. It is a better picture than the previous Vizio. If you spend more money for a premium set, like an OPLD, you will get a even better picture.

For the money this TV gives an excellent picture. The Sound – Here is a strength of this TV, perhaps all LG’s but I’m not sure of that. With the soundbar on the previous Vizio my wife and I both had issues understanding all the dialog, especially in quiet scenes such when the characters are talking softly.

I hooked up my soundbar using an HDMI cable from the HDMI (ARC) jack on the LG to the HDMI jack on the soundbar. Without making any adjustments, other than turning off the internal speakers on the TV, the soundbar connected immediately to the TV.

Best news is the sound from the soundbar is excellent. Cleaner and chrisper than the sound produced by the same soundbar from the Vizio TV. The most noticiable difference is the dialog is very clear and distinct and much easier to understand at normal listening levels.

Before we were essentially blasting the TV volume just be sure to hear the soft dialog, and we don’t need to do that now. If you buy this TV I’d recommend getting a soundbar too. I can’t comment on the sound from the TV’s internal speakers, but I’m sure a soundbar will produce better sound especially more bass.

I’ve had success with refurbished electronics so that’s what I got here. The price for a new set on sale was even less than refurbished, so either way a good deal. I also got the 4 year protection plan which seemed reasonably priced.

Usually if a TV last 3 to 4 years it will be good for many more years. My set came with the regular remote, some LG sets come with a “Magic Remote”. I find the regular remote needs to aimed carefully to get a response from the TV, an annoyance but I can live with it.

As I was more used to Vizio set up screens it took me awhile to figure out how to fine tune this LG. Overall, I think most people select a TV for the picture. I don’t do games so no comment on gaming.

We have a cable connection, and do stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount , and Peacock. It took a bit but I’ve figured out how to get all the content we enjoyed on the previous TV. The picture is fine for me, but the sound with the soundbar really has me excited about this TV.

I bought this TV sight-unseen based on online reviews and the specs of this model. The color is good and I appreciate the settings which allow the pictures to be viewed as the filmmakers meant them to be.

One of these settings “Filmmaker Mode” was apparently designed and promoted by the movie industry. There is another option though and it is the one I prefer. It is called ISF which is presumably settings chosen by professional monitor calibration technicians to make your TV picture as close as possible to the picture presented on professional monitors used in movie studios.

I recommend using the defaults on these two modes (ISF dark room and ISF bright room) because if the concept is true then you will only adjust your TV further away from the theoretical “ideal” picture.

There are other modes meant for you to try your own adjustments so use those so you can come back to a “known good” if you don’t like the adjustments you have made. My only complaint so far is that the signal meter for tuning on-air DTV is buried in the menu.

A great change to make in the next software update is to move the signal meter into the box where the channel number is displayed so if a channel is weak and you need to turn the antenna, the information is right there for you.

So recently i bought a tv online from Wal-Mart and had it delivered to my home. I read all the reviews and found conflicting point of views. My 2019 Samsung 65 inch tv had a vertical shadow on it and was obviously breaking down.

I googled the problem and found it was almost all samsung tvs having that same problem. So for me, buying another samsung was out of the question. I really loved it, but 2 1/2 year lifespan was ridiculous.

This lg 65 inch was on sale for $498 and so was the comparable samsung. There were a bunch of reviews stating how bad walmart delivery was. In my case i ordered my new tv around 2 pm and my new lg was delivered in less that 24 hrs.

The woman delivered it in her mini van and was not affiliated with fed ex whatsoever. The tv was in perfect shape as well as the box it came in. Obviously where you live will depend on what delivery service Wal-Mart uses.

Also i was frustrated on wether or not to get the walmart warranty (5 year for $89). I chose to get the warranty given the unfortunate circumstances surrounding my last walmart tv. You can search reviews forever and will find opposing views on just about anything.

I chose Wal-Mart over best buy due to the faster delivery. I will say i believe the best buy geek squad warranty is probably better as it covers almost anything. Reading all those reviews made me incredibly nervous about dropping $500 on a new tv from walmart.

I went back and forth for days and made a decision. My advice to you is to read the reviews that dont talk about the bad delivery, but focus on the reviews that talk about the tv itself. Obviously there is no way to determine if your tv is gonna be as good as you hope, but im very happy with my purchase (so far).

As for the tv itself, its nice and better than i expected. Its got a bright beautiful screen and enough hdmi outputs to suit my needs. A great tool was the best buy website where it allows you to chose 2 different tvs and compare them side by side.

I own a samsung note 10 and i think its an amazing phone and much better than apple garbage. But my brother has a samsung refrigerator and stove, both which broke well before they should have. So if you like lg or want something different/better then this tv is for you.

I chose this TCL because it was a relatively inexpensive Roku based TV. I was familiar with the Roku interface which is wa-a-ay better than the Vizio Smart TV interface I have on another TV. This Roku TV has AirPlay/Cast capability, integrates the live TV channels with the free internet channels, and easily allows removing the subscription “apps” (Netflix, Disney+, etc) from the Home Screen.

Removing subscription apps is important because my TV is in a vacation home that is often occupied by friends and relatives–logging in with their own credentials is not an option (or at least not a good idea), so there is no need to present the subscription apps on the Home Screen.

Guests can always AirPlay/Cast from their phone if they want to view their personal streaming subscriptions. The TV comes with a Roku remote, pretty much the same one used by standalone Roku products.

I set up the TV so it defaults to the Live TV “app” when it is turned on and also removed all the other TV input options from the Home Screen. In addition to the live on-air channels, there are a gazillion free internet TV channels that show up in the Guide.

This is good, but the downside is that the only way to access any channel is by scrolling through the Guide (accessed by hitting the “left” arrow on the remote). The Roku remote does NOT have a number keypad on it, so you can’t jump to a particular channel.

(This is apparently an on-going criticism on Roku user forums). PS: This is a 4K TV so picture quality is actually quite good, especially for a relatively low-cost TV.

There are a few reasons I decided on this TV. For the $250 (on sale) it’s very nice to be able to watch 4K movies. I think it’s supposed to upgrade 1080p and regular DVDs too. I didn’t see any TVs smaller than 43″ that even do 4K.

Even though it’s 43″, it is very light so you can move it around. Just be careful not to press on the screen edges. The picture looks excellent to me. It’s very easy to get it looking right and peoples skin tones look pretty natural.

As far as sound, I use a separate system most of the time, so I really don’t care that much. It seems OK, but the way TVs are made now they don’t have enough room inside for really good speakers anyway.

The Pioneer 43″ 4k has better sound, maybe that is part of the reason it’s heavier. I didn’t even know Pioneer made TVs now. I saw the screen and it looked good. I wanted a lighter TV. The TCL weighs like 5 or 6 lbs.

less than the Pioneer. From what I know TCL has a good reputation for quality and lasting a while. I believe if the TV I bought lasts a long time I’ll be more than happy with it. So far, the Normal picture mode looks best to me with the dynamic contrast on low.

It seems like it looks better with the backlight at least on 90 and the brightness almost half. I like to stop adding to the regular brightness setting just before the blacks on the screen start getting grey.

I put it on the warm setting with the tint just barely on the red side. I like the gamma setting higher up because the colors look deeper. I don’t change it. I think the higher gamma settings are for a darker room, but I don’t care, LOL!! But hey, whatever works for you go for it! Your tastes may be totally different than mine.

This review is for the TCL 43″ Roku TV 43S455 This is an excellent upgrade from my 1st gen (32″ Vizio 720p lcd TV). The slim border allows a much larger viewable screen with about the same size TV box that this one replaces.

I chose this TV because of the Roku system which I’ve been familiar with for many years. I do not have cable or satellite, only antenna and streaming. I really like how the on-screen menu incorporates the antenna and streaming guides seamlessly together.

The older TV setup was very cumbersome to switch back and forth between the two. I love the picture quality! It is excellent! The sound quality is good, but It works better with my old Vizio sound bar.

I was able to reprogram my old cheapie remote control (model GE CL4 7252) to work with reasonably well this TV. The only thing missing is the ability to type in a channel that has a decimal point, which is mainly the over-the-air ones.

The other channels can be directly changed to by using the number pad. The remote that comes with the TV is just a Roku remote without a number pad. No biggie, but its worth trying to get your old remote to work if you can.

I purchased this TV about two weeks ago and I am very happy that I did.

We are celebrating our 54th anniversary and decided to get something we both would enjoy. The larger tv screen is awesome! It looks like the people on the screen could walk right out of the tv! So clear and bright images.

The only thing that took awhile was getting a universal remote set up to run the tv, DVD player and the surround system. Now it’s one remote for everything to enjoy the new tv!.

The TV is awesome, everything they said is true, best picture and sound. Great apps and they all work perfectly. If you want to see how great the picture is, watch a National Geographic and stand back you will think you are actually in the forest or in the middle of a river fishing.

A 4-year warranty, no one else offered that. Shipping took less than a week. You can’t find this offer anywhere else.

Hisense is the sleeper in good quality televisions. Bang for the buck is stellar, bar none. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high degree of picture quality with a minimal expenditure. Most will be beyond happy.

I remember the days when a 32″ TV was considered large! Now they are hard to find. Wanted something for my desk and this fit the bill. Very satisfied with this TV. The color is great but I find the sound quality to be lacking.

It is difficult to hear without turning up the volume a great deal but that maybe just me. I notice other reviewers did not comment on this point. It keeps the internet connection perfectly, The TV easily fit the stand I purchased for it.

The price is a little high but seems worth it. Other TVs such as the Vizio also offer the 32″ but it is not 4K. Overall, I think it is worthy the money.

My “normal” TV was destroyed by a power outage, so got this one–complicated set up–I was able to do most of it, but the power outage damaged the cable box so Comcast finished the set up, and made it user friendly for me.

I dislike the useless remote–too many buttons to push to get where you want to go. Descriptions, during set up, were vague–I endured volume at 20% for hours before finally figuring out to push the button up, vs push like a traditional button.

The whole set up made me set up a Samsung account, which I didn’t want. I just want to watch TV–it is taking a bit to get used to the picture as I feel like I am sitting on a chair watching a live presentation–color was adjusted properly from the start.

Not sure I would ever buy again–just too many bells and whistles for my needs.

Wow, this Samsung 32” 4K UHD TV is fantastic! We were told and read reviews that said 32” TVs were being discontinued because people ‘don’t want small TVs and manufacturers were not interested in building 32” TVs with new technology’.

This is not true and Samsung proves it with this 4K UHD TV. The picture is extremely sharp, even 3 dimensional. We have Dish Hopper HD signal, fiber optic WiFi and optical connector to a Bose sound bar.

This TV was designed for this type of connection and It’s performance is outstanding. The remote control is brilliantly small with individual buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Netflix. The connection to these subscriptions works instantly.

The built in 20 watt speakers are twice as large as other 10 watt 32” tv speakers, but the additional sound bar really enhances this TV. We’ve had this TV 2 weeks and we’re still amazed. We returned our brand new 2018 model, $200 32” Samsung TV because of an electrical issue and replaced it with this QN32Q50R model.

It’s definitely worth the extra $300. Set up is brilliantly easy. You’ll be amazed! We have no regrets and anxiously await watching this tv. Thank you, Samsung! I had to call Samsung tech support and they responded immediately by phone with an instant technical correction.

I have now owned this TV for just over 8 months. I had purchased it to mount as a bedroom TV, so I was just looking for something reliable with a decent picture and solid quality. Sadly, this is the worst TV I have ever purchased.

If I could have returned it during the return period, I would have, but Covid restrictions made that difficult at the time. The Roku platform on this set lags at least once a day and when turning it on it takes a good minute or two to connect to the internet.

this is even with the TV plugged directly into a google wifi router. I switched the TV to the quick startup mode where it stays turned on in a low power state and maintains the internet connection and that helps some.

However, numerous times a day it says it is having buffering issues and forced me to leave the program I am watching to run the internet connection check, which of course always comes back as having a connection.

I have Fios Gigspeed and no other TV’s or devices have this issue. For comparison, the Sony X950G and the Q60 Samsung Tv’s I have, never experience these problems and clearly must have far superior network cards in them because they bring in 5 times the speed of this TV whether it is using wireless or is directly connected to a router.

It really is baffling and makes no sense. I understand this is not a TV on the same level as those, but I would be better off putting a fire stick in a 10 year old LG TV. The picture is mediocre and often stutters as people move across the screen.

Also, watching sports is quite unenjoyable on this TV. I just purchased two more TV’s to put in my man cave and I made sure to stay away from TCL. I can not recommend purchasing this TV.

Very good picture. Noticeably better than TLC’s 3 and 4 series sets and worth the extra money. Two annoying quirks are having the remote sensor on the bottom of the frame and only being able to connect one speaker at a time.

I’m still satisfied, however, and can accept the minor inconvenience for the reasonable price and convenience of a built-in Roku. Soundbars in front of the TV can block the remote sensor. Soundbars have to go below or above the TV, or you’ll need to raise the set by putting the feet up on something like a couple wood blocks.

If you use headphones or have a powerful sound system you don’t want to use all the time, you’ll need to add an audio splitter/converter or keep plugging and unplugging your speakers from the set. You can’t use the built-in speaker when something else is plugged into the sound inputs.

TCL s*uks big time! This brand is total [email protected] and I will NEVER buy this brand again. In the beginning this TV was very quirky when used in conjunction with my Apple TV. Sound had strange issues where it sometimes went silent during brief time intervals during the dialog in movies (soundbar connected with HDMI ARC using modern supported cable).

But a little over a year, I get to the “best part” of this awful experience with this TV. The LED back-light panel has gone out. Searching online I see MANY others complaining about the exact same problem.

The LED backlights have a true quality issue and the vendor DOES NOT CARE that they are selling this unreliable junk. There is a good reason this TV IS SO CHEAP, it is NOT quality. I have a huge piece of 500 dollar junk to get rid of now.

I lucked out and found a whole pallet marked open-box because the boxes got wet in transit. We paid 340 for one, tested it before leaving, and it worked fine with no evidence of moisture. That was months ago and we use it daily.

For the price we paid, its an amazing TV. But had I paid full price, I probably wouldnt be as happy about it. The good:The image is pretty great. The screen is super bright and the fake 120Hz effect tricks my brain sometimes though I wish it was true 120Hz, because it does not have DisplayPort using it as a computer monitor via HDMI theres obvious lagging and skipping of the mouse cursor even with a high-end GPU.

But streaming Home Deliveries USA Prime or HBO Max has some decent realistic motion. USB storage: I also use an external 2. 5 SSD and the TV easily plays any typical file, even HVEC/H. 265 as large as 4GB, and it emulates a higher framerate making the playback look as good as any popular streaming service at 4K.

Awesome. The bezel is super thin, which is super sleek. I connect it to my external Bluetooth receiver that goes to my hi-def A/V system, and there is minimal lag. I connect to my 5G WiFi network and also have the ethernet connected, so no issues with lag or streaming.

There are also tons of apps and extras that can be downloaded from the Tizen app store. The bad:The interface is painfully annoying. Seriously. Sometimes Im nearly frustrated enough to throw the remote through the screen because I accidentally pressed the back key one too many times and it goes to the home screen.

Or the interface lags so bad you think you clicked to go to one page but its somewhere different entirely, because the cursor will jump 4 or 5 places when you navigate in any particular direction. Sometimes, when clicking through an on-screen keyboard can be so annoying because the cursor jumps around 5+ times in any direction when you press the arrow key once.

If they put any of that amazing Samsung processing power toward the U/I maybe it woul.

I have owned a few other “smart” TVs prior to this one, and I would consider those to be “dumb” TVs! The clarity and picture on this TV is amazing. Whether you are watching cable, streaming, or even using connected devices, this has been the best experience I have had by far.

I do lots of streaming, such as Youtube, Prime, and Netflix, and have had the greatest experience with them all. I also stay on the internet constantly, and being able to do this from my television is unlike anything I have tried.

There’s nothing like being able to see the content you watch and do on a big screen like this. Using the browser on the TV became more favorable than using my computer or even my phone. I also love how if you don’t have a sound system, you can use a Bluetooth connected speaker, and the sound is amazing (and wireless!) I also love the fact you can upload your pictures and video gallery, and feel like you are watching home movies on a what feels like a theater, all from videos and pictures taken on a smartphone.

Having a Samsung smartphone makes the experience so lovely, because everything connects seamlessly, as well as giving you TV and phone extra features when using them together. Not that I would think there would be any issues with any other smartphone being connected, it is just awesome to use a Samsung smartphone with a Samsung TV, because the usability of the TV is even easier to get use to, since it has the same platform, setup, and settings similarities.

We bought this to replace a 47″ HD Smart TV where the video board had broken. Buying it was easy enough and after unpacking it and spending half an hour mounting it, the new TV wouldn’t go into ‘Set Up’ mode – specifically we couldn’t select any of the set up options using the Volume button on the remote control as the TV’s set up requires.

The TV wouldn’t even switch on/off using the power button on the remote. We checked the battery voltage for the included batteries and they were both fine at 1. 6V. When I pointed the remote at my mobile phone camera with the phone’s Photo app, I couldn’t see any infra red light when I pressed any of the remote buttons, so the remote was DOA.

After spending 10-15 minutes texting with Samsung support (who asked me to do everything I’d already done), they offered to send a new remote. We declined and decided just to return the TV and get another one.

So less than 3 hours after we bought it, we drove the 16 mile round trip to our local Sam’s Club, returned it and bought an identical one. This time, as soon as we had been scanned at the store exit, I opened the box, took out the remote and popped the batteries in it.

I think pointed it at my mobile phone with the camera app on and could see the infrared light pulsing when I pressed the remote buttons, so I knew this one was OK. We got it home, mounted it on the wall and it set up as expected.

What I found really disappointing was that we’re charged a $6 recycling fee here in CA on purchases of TVs and other electronic goods. Despite selling a TV that wasn’t working, the recycling fee wasn’t refunded when I returned the broken TV.

So I ended up paying the recycling fee twice, once on the TV that was DOA and a second time on a TV that actually worked. That is hardly customer service for a Plus membership. We’re glad this thing came with a 3 year warranty!.

Overall, the TV has a great picture quality and surprisingly good sound sans external speakers. Unlike other reviews, I think the menu was pretty responsive and did not notice any lag. It took a while to adjust the picture to just my preference, as the out-of-the box settings just seemed a bit off.

My biggest issue, however, is the significant light bleeding that other reviews mentioned. I know that some light bleeding is unavoidable with any display **with a backlight**, even the $4k+ models. As such, I didn’t mind the lower-end 6-series, especially since I didn’t feel that the other features of the higher end models justified the significant bump in price.

The first few days, I saw no light bleed at all. I made sure to check after reading some of the reviews. But by the end of the week, it became very obvious to the point that that’s all I could stare at when watching a movie.

The light bleed, as bad as it is, is tolerable when viewing with ambient light and the picture fits shows little black and fits screen. However, when you watch a widescreen movie with a greater than a 16:9 ratio and the top and bottom is all black, it becomes very annoying in the daytime, and intolerably distracting when you turn off all the lights at night.

The TV was super cheap for a 75” replacement 55” TCL that blew out after a power outage, so I wasn’t expecting too much, but I did not expect this much light bleeding after only a week! You can adjust the backlight and contrast to a point that the light bleed becomes tolerable again, but then you won’t be able to tolerate the picture quality.

If you have the money, go for a true OLED tv (not that QLED crap Samsung tries to pass off) without a backlight, even if it’s a smaller screen real estate. For a guy that preaches to everyone about my three 4K-monitor setup from Samsung (UJ59) for my MacBook Pro (via eGPU), I’m super disappointed in Samsung about this product.

ps I still can’t get AirPlay to work.

I had the worst experience with this television from the moment I bought it. Unfortunately I got it the day before stores shut down due to Covid back in March so brining it back to the store was not an option.

The tv constantly wouldn’t power on. I would have to unplug it to reset it and then it would power on. Samsung came to the house 5 times to repair the board which the tech mentioned was a common problem in this model.

Finally after the 6th appointment they approved me for a new television. Happy to say I did not have to repurchase this model. On top of the power on problems it wonky had two HDMI ports, one USB port and I could not connect my Samsung soundbar by Bluetooth bc there isn’t Bluetooth either.

The sound constantly cut out with the optical cord.

Light, slim tv with greate picture quality. Sound is basic and a sound system is recommended. The remote control functions takes a bit to get familiar with. Could maybe have a few more buttons to simplify searching functions.

The two toggle buttons seem to be cheap and already loosing response or functionality. My tv is mainly used for watching video or movies, no gaming experience to share.

My husband bought this tv because he’s a huge Sony fan. For awhile, it worked beautifully! Then, for no reason whatsoever, when we turned it on the screen was mostly dark. We could just make out some of the picture.

So, we waited for it to warm up, then on and off a few times until finally it came back regular. Sony customer service and support of this product was NO HELP AT ALL, which is not cool for what we spent on this “smart” tv.

Now we’re turning it on/off about 20 times before it “warms up” or whatever. NOT happy, I watch tv in the bedroom. I would NOT RECOMMEND this one!.

Very nice TV. I went to a local store and checked the picture quality with the competition. It was superior. Not too much bloatware which beats LG. I like the Android interface, but it does require more re-boots than I think it should.

I have other android streamers that are less finicky. I mostly use the on-board apps along with a Tivo Over the Air for local channels. I have also used the on-board tuner for Over the Air channels and it works fine also.

I might get a less expensive TV if I had it to do all over again but I do not regret the purchase.

We really like the TV. Very good picture. We like the remote and controls. I wish Prime was one button on the remote like Netflix but not a big deal. Only nit is that there is no analog audio out and no way to control volume on digital out.

We play sound through a relatively high end 2 channel amplifier. If we use digital audio out we cannot control the volume with just the tv remote. (I try to set things up simply. Not everyone wants to juggle multiple remotes).

Therefore I also have to use the headphone out to connect the TV audio to the amplifier analog in. The TV volume control then does control the amp speaker volume. However, plugging in to the headphone jack on the TV cuts off the TV speakers, so the amp has to be on to hear any sound.

Have to turn the amp on with the amp remote :-(. Did I mention that some folks prefer dead simple, particularly if they want to watch the weather channel? I have used multi device remotes like Harmony before but they could get things really confused.

I bought this TV because It was a brand I never heard of, I like too purchase off brands out of curiosity. The price was great for the size, 55in, at first I was kind of disappointed, because it started to act up, like it wouldn’t go back to the home screen and kept going in and out, so I called Conn’s, which they had to put me in contact with the manufacturer, due to the fact that I didn’t purchase a Conn’s warranty, which I did purposely, because I’ve purchased off brands before and didn’t regret it.

Anyways while I was waiting for a call back from the manufacturer, I YouTube if there was a quick fix, and low and behold!!!!!! All I had to do was unplug the TV, wait a full 60 seconds, plug back in, reset to factory reset and TADA!!! Problem fix!!!! Yes that simple and haven’t had any issues since.

I’m definitely buying another one for the living room and obviously it will be bigger. Beautiful picture, great sound, definitely worth the money!!! And if you need piece of mind, just get the warranty, but yes I highly recommend it for budget.

We got this TV on the Black Friday special – figured how could we go wrong? In actuality it is almost as good as other much more expensive TVs we have purchased in the past. Easy set up – so far almost a month later and working great!.

Was a great tv for a while! Until the thing took 5 minutes to turn on. Then 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, then 30 and now 3 HOURS. Each time you press the on button on the remote or on the actual tv it makes 3 squeaking noises and takes hundreds, thousands of presses to actually get the thing to turn on! I have tried absolutely everything to fix this and nothing Samsung have told me to do has helped.

Starting to regret buying this tv because my “old” tv from a different brand had lasted much longer than this one! Ive had my old one for almoat 10 years now and never a single issue with it. Yet ive had this famous branded Samsung tv for not even 4 years and its gone to trash.

The TV’s screen is gorgeous. The voice control works fine, you press a button on the remote and speak a command. I synced up the TV with my Google smart home hub, so I can turn the TV on and off by telling my smart speaker or phone to turn it on/off.

Unfortunately, sometimes I am unable to turn on the TV with the feature, it just randomly doesn’t work, so I have to find the remote. The remote is a little barebones, my only complaint is that the volume channel controls are little rocker buttons, I would have preferred discreet (+) and (-) buttons.

I do very much appreciate that the remote has dedicated buttons to start Netflix, Amazon Video, and Hulu smart TV apps. After you plug in a new HDMI input, the TV goes through a phase where it attempts to recognize the device, and then it assigns it a label on the inputs menu and depending on the device, the remote may be able to control the thing you connected.

This usually works fine, though you cannot cancel the recognition process if you plug in a device, so if you are plugging and unplugging things, you can’t skip the process, which is annoying. The motion smoothing(auto motion plus) is on by default.

Every single TV review website tells you to turn this feature off immediately. If you leave it on, the picture will jitter/lag at certain times and may cause you to think your TV is broken. All that being said, it’s still a great TV for the price, and I would recommend it if you want a big 4k TV.

This was a great TV for about a year after that the picture started going out in the middle of watching. I have to turn it off for about 10 minutes to let it rest and can turn it back on for a few hours.

Today it went out all together I fear. Purchased 11/19 installed and started using 3/2021 but the warranty is 2 years from date of purchase not when installed. But the started in the first year. Guess I should have been more pro-active.

Where do I begin. Compared to my previous UA60JU model, this BU8000 75″lacks many features although the OS has been updated. The remote, whilst easy to hold lacks any detailed functionality so you find yourself always needing to select the options vi the OS.

And the buttons, unlike the old remote are too easy pressed to be accidentally or sitting on the remote (on a couch) and off goes or unintentionally going to Netflix, Prime or Disney with 3 dedicated buttons.

It’s just a bad design but I do like the solar charging feature. The Media player controls for playing your own videos from the USB connection has half the options now, no freeze/next frame, no Zoom (unless you go back to OS) and slowmo always skips 10 frames to begin and FF is still only x3.

The horizontal HDMI & optical connections at back mean your cables will stick straight out at least 3-4 cm so if you need these, forget a flush mounting on the wall and risk of damaging the cable as it hits the wall.

The other side mounted HDMI connections are flimsy – I broke one when mounting on the wall. Trying to connect even a Samsung Theatre System is impossible – keeps asking for SOURCE when I select it. External Connections lag too and the WiFi is now weaker with constant buffering when connecting to my PC.

Not sure if it is a fault, but when the screen goes black there are sections at corners of the screen showing faded white backlights. Sound volume is weird, like you need to turn up to 50% to hear it as it goes to 100 but quality is acceptable with good bass response.

Picture is good in most cases so happy in that respect. I guess you get what you pay for with Samsung cheaper Crystal DIsplay models but one does expect with newer models, even the basic to have the expected features.

This TV annoys me, all its “features” can’t be turned off. It’s settings menu is small and samsung tv plus is a flop. The remote has no customisation and is incredibly hard to see what you’re pressing when the lights are off.

There’s no button for live tv and if you leave the samsung tv plus button on (I’d recommend turning it off) it will change the channel to some random samsung channel if you press it. If you do turn off samsung tv plus because it’s trash you’ve now got an empty spot in the remote you can’t use.

Don’t get me started on replacing the numbers with a side scroll of numbers, I get you want your remote looking minimilist but I feel like removing the number pad is a step backwards in evolution. Positives, pictures nice for the price, it doesn’t take too long to start up (bar initial turn on) and the home screen is customisable but still would be nice to be able to have more control over something I just spent 1000 on.
