I searched online and while Rural had a great price, it was a little misrepresenting. The Dewalt DXCMV5048055 is what I searched for and thought I was purchasing. Rural King seems to have a different model with a.

1 at the end of the stock number. The difference is the model I thought I was buying has two air hose connections and a pressure regulator neatly mounted on the top of the tank. The model I received does not have this.

I take full responsibility for not noticing the number difference and not clicking on the picture to see that the tank was different. But imagine my disappointment when it arrived. I am sure the compressor is fine, but I wish I had purchased it elsewhere.

At almost $300 in shipping a return is not feasible. Buyer beware and do your homework.

Bought this to replace an old air compressor that was drawing its last breath. Needed power to run sand blaster and air tools. Thus one fit the bill without breaking the bank. Really impressed! One word of advice.

If you need home delivery those big trucks cannot come on your property so you need to have a way to move 500 lbs. from curb to garage. We picked ours up at the FedEx dock and had them use the fork lift to set it in the bed of our pick up.

Engine hoist and a bit of redneck inginuity got it out of the truck and into the shop.

This compressor replaced a single stage so I was expecting it to be very noisy. I was surprised that it is quieter than my previous one. It is very quick to get from 150 to 175psi. The requirements for electrical say you need a 50 amp breaker but I am running a 40 amp with no problem.

DeWalt says it draws 30 amps so I have 10 gauge wire running to it. It is heavy and tall. They dropped the pallet in my driveway. 400+lbs. By the time I got it out of the shipping stuff my son and I were able to move it.

So far, very happy with this compressor.

Did a lot of research on which air compressor to buy. Very difficult to do just looking at specs. Found that noise levels stated buy mfgs. may not always be accurate? This one is quiet when put into a sound insulated closet (vented to outside) Does need to have a drier of some sort added.

Very happy with the purchase. This same compressor is marketed under different brand names. Also purchased oil and filter kit that extends the warranty.

Easy to order from the website. Shipping took longer than I would like but it did come from Minnesota (to Calif). Very top heavy was a pain to get unit off the pallet. Once in position, easy to connect all lines.

This unit was quieter than I expected and welcomed. I would recommend this distributer and air compressor. Shipping company went out of their way to deliver the compressor within feet of the final location.

I should have listened to the other reviews. I shouldn’t have thought that buying a product “Made in America” was going to be worth spending my money on. I bought the 60 Gal, 5HP, IR SS4L5 Air compressor on 11/16/21 and installed it according to the manufacturer about a week later.

Despite poor instructions on the proper installation (whether to install with foot pads, etc) I was able to install this within a couple feet of my main electrical panel. With only using it every few weeks for woodworking/framing projects in the garage (I’m only a hobbyist) the air compressor motor failed (loud knocking followed by the inability to build pressure) at about 8 months after installation.

I made sure I bought the TSC 2 year extended warranty due to all of the poor reviews that warned me ahead of time. The extended warranty made no difference so far as TSC told me to go straight to Ingersoll Rand.

So far (about 5 days in) I have not heard back from IR and had to reach out for a 3rd time today just to be told I’d get a call back. Both TSC and IR have failed me so far and now I’m stuck attempting to continue my home projects with no air.

I’m on my 3rd compressor in 8 months. The first 2 blew up within a month. I’m only running air tools well under the 14. 2scfm rating. This third compressor just blew up the other day as well. After doing some research and talking to compressor techs from independent repair shops I found out that the pumps are notoriously hit or miss due to being assembled at random different locations in the US.

The first compressor had had a bolt tightened too tight which broke off and fell in the head, the second one over duty cycled running a 9. 1cfm paint gun overheated and blew up. This last compressor I’m not sure exactly what caused it but It blew up.

They all had the maintenance on point and ran equipment rated well below the compressor ratings. This is the worst air compressor (3 of them) I’ve ever used in my 20 years in the mechanic/automotive industry.

I’m actually blown away at some of the good reviews. Buying this compressor is like rolling the dice.

Do not buy this compressor. I bought this compressor to replace my refurbished husky compressor I had for 12 years. I thought I was doing the right thing buying from a reputable trusted name company but I was wrong.

I use this in my home garage for working on classic cars at night after my daytime job. I bought this compressor late September of this year and now the pump is making a terrible noise after barely even two months of use.

This compressor has very little hours on it and it sounds as if something is coming loose in the pump. Ingersoll Rand and tractor supply customer service is a joke. They been giving me the run around for about three weeks now.

I’m out the price of this compressor plus the warranty. Not counting the money I’m losing everyday this thing has been down.

So far very happy, the only reason I gave 4 stars on value is I’ve only had it 3 weeks and can’t vouch for the long-term value, plus I’ve only ever bought one other air compressor and don’t have much basis for comparison.

Also purchased the installation kit with the foot pads and steel braided discharge hose, as well as the maintenance kit with the recommended synthetic oil. Both were quite pricey considering the contents, but the convenience of knowing you have the guaranteed correct parts made for a worry free installation as well as the one year warranty extension made it worth it.

This is probably overkill for my application but I wanted the comfort of knowing I have excess capacity and hoping this will be the last compressor I ever have to buy. As far as noise goes, the single phase 240V unit this one is replacing had a very harsh startup and a sort of sharp slapping noise while running.

This one gently “whirrs” to life when it comes on and has a smoother hum when running. If you’re standing within 6 feet of it you still have to raise your voice significantly to be heard, so it’s not quite accurate to say that it is “quiet” but it is not excessively loud and much less annoying than some other examples.

It is quite heavy so if you don’t have a forklift (which I don’t) then it’s definitely worth the extra $75 for the liftgate service, and you’ll want to recruit 2 or 3 stocky friends to help get it off of the pallet as doing it with only 2 people was a bit hairy.

So far overall great purchase.

Bought this for my car wash to blow dirt and water off cars. 85% of its life is not running and never really gets worked. IR sent repairmen out twice to repair it. The first time they replaced the switch and it worked for about a month.

The second time they replaced the heads. Not the quality Ive come to expect from Ingersoll Rand.

After doing much research before deciding on a compressor for my shop, I feel great about my decision. Along with its powerful American brand this compressor is more than enough to power up all my shop tools and air needs that I will have.

The extended warranty they offer, when using their correct oil/ filter start up kit makes it a no-brainer. The twin cylinder, cast iron pump is definitely a step above other compressors found at many stores.

Once I got it going I love the performance. Havent met an air tool yet it wouldnt keep up with. I cant wait to get my Blast Cabinet installed to see how it handles that. When I went to set it up a few things caught me by surprise.

The oil level switch was broke off on the pump. I dont know if we did it moving the compressor into place or not. But it was only in the pump by one thread. It didnt take a lot to straighten the threads out and reinstall it.

And the instructions were a little lacking too. There is no way you can fill the pump oil according to the level specs in the book. With the plug out of the pump you can not get the oil level up to the back of the threads without the oil running out the front of the plug opening.

(And yes the compressor is level). So I really dont know if Im running the pump low or high on oil or not. I filled it up to the top of the lower side of the top threads then leaned the compressor back and added a little more.

And the instructions for setting the oil level switch were almost non existent. The brass fitting exiting the bottom of the tank was also broken off. Here again I dont know if we did it moving it or not.

But I found it the first time I cranked up the compressor. SO, I had to locate a 1/2 brass elbow to replace it with. Once that was done we have been off to the races ever since. So far other than these few little issues I definitely recommend the machine.

I didn’t want a in the store model that was cheap and loud. I don’t always need 24 cfm, but man, when you have it, it is awesome when you need it. I ran 3/4 main lines and dropped it to 3/8 and 1/2 depending on what it’s running.

The compressor takes about 5 min to be full at 175 psi. It is actually not that loud compared to many I have heard and been around. I took off the 3 phase motor and put on a Leeson single phase 7. 5 as this is in my house and to get a 5.

5 kw phase converter is pricey, and you need a single phase mag starter, cheaper to get a motor and be done with it and it can use all the power. Having the oil shut off switch is a relief as well since I have this in a sound proof closest with inlet duct and exhaust to keep clean air coming in and hot air out along with a copper tubing system to cool the air, with 6, 5 foot vertical runs I get no water in my lines at all, I don’t even need a water trap on my lines, but I keep one on just in case and have a separate line that is dried for my plasma cutters.

IR makes awesome stuff, always loved their stuff. Stay clear of their ARO brand though for filters and stuff, they do not last. I have never had issues with Milton. Also, mine is not the new beige one, mine is a 2470, exact same (back when they painted them gray) and it runs non stop with no issues.

So rest assured this will be the last compressor you will need to buy. They still continue to make this model as it is proven to last. My 3 phase that was on it was a Baldor, both them and Leeson are amazing motors.

You will not regret owning one of these fine machines.

I purchased this compressor as an upgrade to my previous compressor which could not keep up with the demands of sandblasting. My initial concerns were that this compressor may also be lacking in the necessary power to keep up.

I was wrong. This compressor (Model #: 2475N7. 5-FP) is a powerhouse and far exceeded my expectations. Its a lot quieter than I expected too. The electronic automatic drain valve is excellent for expelling any water condensation collecting in the tank.

The only disappointment I have is that there isn’t an on and off switch for the electronic drain valve so it needs to be unplugged at the end of the day or else it will continue to purge at the set interval all day and night.

In short, I love this compressor and highly recommend it. It’s the Cadillac of compressors.

I have a medium volume auto dealership moving 30-50 units a month, I just put up a 40×40 2 bay garage with all new equipment, we do it all, body and mechanical so I needed a good solid performer. A friend told me to check out the 7.

5 I&R fully packaged which I did and after researching it heavily I decided it was not reliable enough and way too loud. Even though this site rates it as a best buy, the reviews do not reflect it, the other reason was the warranty, a full 2 years versus one with I&R, and the last reason was because of how quiet this unit is, it really is quiet! This makes a huge difference when you have to listen to it ALL day.

The I&R was at least twice as loud if not more. With that said, the Belaire provides all the air we need, at a substantial savings with a better warranty and did I mention how quiet it is?The transaction went through without a hitch, and the unit arrived early, I ordered it on a Wednesday and it arrived on a lift gate truck on Monday, the lift gate was worth the $$ as it was dropped right into my shop and used the pallet jack from the trucking Co to position it where I wanted it.

I installed a rubber 1 inch thick mat under the legs and then lag bolted it to the floor, this helped with vibration and made it even quieter! I then hooked up a Rapid Air master kit, dryer, regulator and line reels.

The Rapid Air kit was really nice but be careful, I called the company and we worked up a design and the company quoted the materials needed. I took the list and found out it was much cheaper to just buy a Master kit or two master kits than it was to deal directly with the company, not a great way to do biz but it is what it is.

The compressor arrived on a pallet covered with a plastic bag. I noticed that there was a lot of oil on the inside of the bag and thought that maybe it leaked out during shipping. After setting up in the shop and wiping it down, I noticed that the compressor drain pipe cap was not sealing.

I tightened as much as I dared, but it still leaks and runs down the tank. Other than that, it seems that the on/off switch is a little flimsy plastic. Hope it last.

I purchased this BelAire model 318VN on July 24,2015. shipping was fast and without problems. However the sight glass was loose and leaked some oil out of the pump. And there were two air leaks one on the pressure switch and another on the copper line that connects to the top of the tank.

Both just required disassembly and re-sealed but frustrating nonetheless on a brand new unit. I would buy again though. great value!.

Just received the compressor and installed it this week. I had pre-wired (40A @ 240v service) and plumbed my new shop so installation was very straight forward. On startup, 0-175 PSI takes about 8 minutes.

I purchased this unit for the manufacturers claims of “Quiet” operation and it delivers! You can carry on a conversation while standing next to the compressor while running under load. Long term reliability remains to be seen but so farm I am happy that I purchased this unit after reviewing the many other options in this class of air compressor,.

Very good build quality and runs almost as quietly as was promised in the catalog. Has enough CFM to power multiple sanding tools continuously so would work for all but the largest body shops. Very good factory support also.

Note, not stated in catalog information is the fact that EMAX oil is required to maintain warranty, should purchase oil change and filter kit with compressor. Note, installation instructions and warranty info not provided with product, only available on line.

It has come time to upgrade my air compressor. After carefully reviewing and comparison of other air compressors, I made the decision and selected The Emax Silent air and the advertising was correct! No joke!.

Great product!! Everything we expected! We are farmers and it works well for all of our larger equip.

Appears to be solidly built I only have 1. 5 hours on it. Had to tighten some fittings as it had slow leak. Pressure switch cuts out at 160 not 175, not a big deal as my regulators only go to 150. I do not think I will even pursue this issue.

Has good CFM does all I need air tools and painting. I bought the maintenance kit to extend warranty to 4 years. I also installed an hour meter to keep track of hours. So far all good.

I had a 30gal oil-less vertical compressor that flowed less than 5cfm @ 90 psi that really wanted to die. I knew I wanted something with 10+ SCFM for running a tire machine as well as intermittent high-airflow tools (HVLP paint gun, random orbital sander, media blasting cabinet at some point, etc).

After researching a large number of compressor options, this came in at the best value. First off, it’s BIG! 450lbs and very top heavy made wriggling it through the garage quite the task. That being said, once it’s in place and you outfit it with the proper parts (3/4 to 3/8 reducer > 3/8 regulator > 3-way manifold), the compressor is insane.

In use, I could keep a 1/4″ air line flowing non-stop through a high-volume nozzle for almost an hour straight without falling below 100psi. We were using a tire machine non-stop combined with intermittent nozzle use in parallel and didn’t go below 120psi while my friend changed 4 tires and I was cleaning the garage floor.

The machine isn’t quiet, but it’s such a low tone and RPM that, while it’s not exactly pleasant, I don’t hate having to run it while working in the garage like the old compressor (it’s located in the middle of the barn, so you hear it).

I’m looking forward to giving this beast it’s own room and hooking it up to a proper water trap setup while running lines throughout the barn. I hope this thing lasts many years!.

I purchased this compressor to replace an overworked 2hp Eagle compressor. I have a small/medium sized shop. The Eagle (while also a good compressor) just could not keep up. I have only had the new compressor for about 6 weeks, but so far it has performed flawlessly.

Just today we were simultaneously running a small blast cabinet, powder coating booth, and laser engraver. No shortage of air and the compressor was working well short of 50% on time. It’s a beast! Also my desiccant drier now only needs to be recharged once a week instead of every other day.

Wish I had done this a long time ago. Shipping was less than a week to my door. Unit was well packed.

In my last shop, I had one of those home improvement store $400 60 gallon compressors (advertised at 7. 5HP but I calculated it was really 3. 5 running HP) that couldn’t keep up with all of my air tools.

For my new shop I was trying to avoid a few mistakes I made with the old one. One mistake to correct was to buy an air compressor that had a good CFM output, a good reputation, and the price had to be reasonable.

The compressor purchasing debate seems to be centered around single stage vs. two stage which had me doing quite a bit of research and soul-searching. My conclusion is the primary advantage of the two-stage is its ability to store more air in the tank due to the higher pressure.

Just because it is a two-stage doesn’t automatically mean you have a higher CFM output. The least expensive Ingersoll-Rand two-stage as I recall doesn’t match the CFM output of this one. Bottom line is I have a compressor that puts out a very high CFM and with the 60 gallon tank stores plenty of air for my woodworking shop needs.

The unit seems very well made and as far as I can determine, it appears the major components are made in the US. The unit is surprisingly quiet (I have mine mounted on two short pieces of PT 2x4s. ) It arrived in perfect condition and only about 10-12 days after I placed my order with NT! My only complaint (which is extremely minor), is the air output ball valve is installed at an angle at the top of the tank and not coming out horizontal.

You cannot simply screw a pipe nipple into the ball valve and then attach a filter-dryer – the filter-dryer will not rotate 360 degrees when you attempt to tighten it but will hit the tank body. I had to fabricate an extension from type “L” rigid copper and a couple of fittings so I had enough clearance to attach/rotate the filter.

(Of course you should ideally have a filter-dryer at each point of use!) This compressor should last as long or longer than I do on this earth! It was a really good cost-effective purchase and I’m extremely pleased with it so far 🙂 -=John=-.

Being a small shop that didn’t have 3-phase power, we were looking for a compressor that would put out high volume and had a good duty cycle rating. We are operating a lot of air tools, so we were only concerned with 90 psi volumes since most impact wrenches, air drills, sanders, etc, are designed for 90 psi.

We didn’t need the high pressure of a two-stage compressor, but wanted the high volume and quick recovery time. This compressor fit the bill. The SS5L5 has a 100% duty cycle rated compressor, which is the only 100% duty cycle rated compressor that we found.

Even though the motors that drive the compressors have an 80% duty cycle rating, the compressor cycle rating is much better than the closest compeitor that was only 80% duty cycle. Most of the compressors in this class were only 60% duty cycle rated.

The 100% continuous duty cycle rating is only specified when using synthetic lubricant. Using petroleum lubricant drops the duty cycle rating to 60% per hour with a maximum of 10 on/off cycles. This compressor has a maximum pressure of 135 psi.

At 135 psi it produces 15. 5 cfm continuously. Since basic hand shop tools are designed around 90 psi, at 90 psi this compressor produces 18. 1 cfm continuously, which is what is advertised. If you only need 40 psi, it is rated at 21 cfm continuous.

The stock cycle pressures of the pressure switch will turn the compressor on at 95 psi and shut off at 135 psi. We did not find any kind of adjustment on or in the pressure switch used. The compressor is shipped without oil, but we purchased the IR start up kit, which contained four quarts of IR synthetic oil and two replacement air filters.

Purchasing this kit will extend the two year warranty on the compressor an additional year to total of 3 years. There is an additional 30-day warranty extension if you register your product online. The crankcase held approximately half a quart.

Initial start up calls for running the compressor for a full 30 minutes with the supply and drain valves opened so no tank pressure is created. Then close both valves and allow the pressure switch to activate the shut down.

Servicing guidelines found in the owners manual call for an initial oil change after the first 200 hours of service. Then an ongoing oil change every 2000 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first, along with an air filter replacement.

The condensate drain valve is a manual valve that is recommended to be opened once daily. If you do not keep the compressor at operational pressure consistently, it is recommended to open the drain valve at the end of your use cycle.

Since the drain valve is a 1/8? npt valve located at the bottom of the tank and it is difficult to get your hands through the access, and you are on your hands and knees if not laying on the ground, we opted to purchase and install an automatic drain valve that activates for 1 second twice a day.

We had to slightly elevate the compressor with 2×4?s at the base to install an elbow and plumb the drain line out from under the compressor. We also added an IR combo line pressure regulator/water filter to the supply line.

We were surprised to see how much water the water filter captures. We typically see more condensate in the supply line filter than we experience in the tank drain valve. There are no installation instructions, but I would imagine anyone needing this size of a unit should be able to safely wire in 220a and secure the base of the tank using concrete lags or through bolts.

We took the extra precaution of securing the upper portion of the tank to the walls with wire rope and turnbuckles. Since this is a vertical compressor, it tends to be top heavy. In an earthquake or similar event, this is an inexpensive and easy preventative measure to ensure safety.

The only problem we had while installing it was that no plumbers tape or pipe dope was used on the main shut off valve from the factory. I?m not sure it this was an oversight or not because both the pressure blow off valve and the tank pressure gauge that were installed on the same T fitting were properly sealed.

However, after plumbing into the system, we experienced a leak at the main shut off valve. A small problem to be sure, but it is worth a check to anyone else receiving this unit. In service this has been an excellent unit.

Not overly noisy for a single stage compressor, but not the quietest one we have heard either. Vibration, although existent, is not excessive. Recovery times are fairly quick. It is simply another excellent example of why we continue to come to IR for our air tools needs.

Hi to whoever is interested? First of all I would like to mention that I am not some rookie without experience. I have been in the automotive business for over twenty years, for eight of those years I did evaluations on scanners, meters, technical manuals, tools and equipment.

I purchased this compressor (Ingersoll Rand Electric Stationary Air Compressor Model# SS5L5) for my home shop where I build custom cars. After going thru several compressors I won’t mention names I decided to upgrade to a name I could trust.

This is what I found. 1. Noise level very low (I can talk instead of scream over the compressor noise) 2. Recharges it’s self very quickly 3. Very easy to install and set up 4. Easy to service. 5. Has had no problems handling any of my air tools.

I ordered this unit with the “factory fully assembled” package. Within 1 month of service, the pulley managed to come loose, the belt came off but the pulley stayed on the shaft until the motor managed to eat enough of the pulley that it eventually fell off.

The motor continued to run. The magnetic dust created from the shaft “eating” the pulley mango to deposit itself on approximately 560 sq. ft. of drywall as high as 35 ft up where it still today clings to the drywall screws.

The motor, sheave, pulley and fan belt as well as the pressure switch were replaced. Last week the replaced fan belt came off and now “sorry, it’s out of warranty”. Worst tool purchase I’ve ever made.

This unit is strong. Its not the quietest but its not too loud. I run a manufacturing plant and this compressor handles 5 bays running 2 guns each.

I purchased an Ingersoll Rand 2340- 460v 3phase, stand up, 5hp with a 60 gallon tank for our start-up company to supply shop air to labs and machine shop. I was price shopping for a piece of equipment that would work based on the size I needed, and found this site with a good brand at the best price.

It was nice to have one site with all the accessories I needed including the installation kit from Rapid Air. I dd read some reviews about Rapid Air having problems with fittings leaking and trouble with the getting the tubing to straighten out, I can report that I had none of these problems.

The system installation was very straight forward and completed with no leaks at all. The compressor was properly installed and mounted to the floor with isolation pads, and all the fears of a noisy compressor are gone, it runs very quiet.

It did take a long time to get my compressor (I believe it was because I wanted 460v), but I was told this when I ordered and was fortunate to not be under a time constraint.

I’m 60+ and over the years I’ve always worked on vehicles and done metal fabrication. It started when I was a teenager as a hobby progressed through a military career working as a professional maintenance and repair technician and years later after retiring grew to a professional mobile repair business.

I have owned many portable air compressors over the years, small and large, and watched as the quality of these air compressors began to wane. I still have one of my original cast iron compressors that is over 30 years old.

After retiring from my mobile business I built two shops at home to support my many talents and hobbies a woodworking shop and a mechanic shop. I now needed a stationery entry level industrial/commercial grade compressor to meet my needs.

It needed to be of good quality and American. My research lead me to Quincy and a two stage, 4 cylinder, design. It took me a month to pour a concrete slab, build an enclosure, and install an electrical system for the compressor.

I also installed a 1/2″ aftercooler between the compressor and tank (with a 1/2″ moisture separator). On the outlet of the tank I built a 3/4″ copper pipe water separator prior to the 3/4″ air supply line for the wood and mechanic shop.

The supply line contains three 50′ 1/2″ hose reels, one for the woodshop, one for the tool shed, one for the mechanic shop and several high flow quick connections. I have since, nearly daily, utilized my air system and been completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the QT-54.

I have used all my air tools without a problem and even done some painting. This compressor, IMO, is a quality product that fills the gap between home use and full out industrial compressors. As Goldilocks said.

The air compressor arrived on time. Getting my ff the truck and then the pallet proved to more challenging. During shipping the pallet was crushed under one of the 3 legs. Which added to the challenge.

During the un packing an moving into it’s new resting place I discovered the drain fitting was broken on the bottom of the compressor likely done during the shipping when the compressor broke through the pallet.

Wiring the plug was a simple process other than the confined space under the pressure switch housing to fit all the wires. Aligning the housing cover back on took some patience to get the tab to align with the switch as part of the wiring process and reassembly.

Big you are not careful easy to break. Looking forward to putting it to work and report back.

This is by far getting better, I notice it runs less than the other 3 I had. It’s less noise for sure, my last one was a 5HP Husky that had a high sound of 91 decibels and my Quincy is 83 right at it but goes down the farther away you are but are about equally.

Whereas 91 goes down to 83 @ 30 and the 83 goes down to 63 decibels at 30. Runs a 1/4 of the time my other compressors ran. The only thing that would make it better is if it came with an hour meter. I purchased one from McMaster Carr was like $40.

00. I am so impressed with this compressor could have spent less for the big box store compressors but then I would just have to buy another in a few years. This buys far should have been done years ago.

Although the pump is leaking oil all over the place. I stayed in contact with the tech dept at CH through the entire wiring and break in process. The owners manual is very vague about everything and really tells you nothing at all.

So I had to call. I talked to Dan in the tech dept and he was very helpful although one thing he did not tell me was not to use synthetic oil for the break in, which needs to be done before changing to synthetic.

You need to use straight 30 weight non detergent, I used Valvoline. Well after the break in that is when the oil was coming out under the inboard jug around the long bolt holding it on. I called Dan again and he gave me the local service facility and I contacted them.

They were nice about it, and said it would take about two weeks to order in a new pump as it also was probably a crack in the housing as they had already replaced four of them. They did say I could use the compressor, just keep my eye on the oil level.

So now I am still waiting on the new pump to come in so they can come and replace it, and I have rags pushed in and tied around everything to keep oil from running down the side of the tank.

I was looking for a compressor for my home shop. I needed one with enough CFM’s to do sandblasting but did not want to spend a lot of money. I looked at getting used ones but this was well worth the money.

I sandblast motorcycle parts in a sandblasting cabinet and the compressor not only kept up with it but was able to shut off as I was still blasting. The side drain valve is very nice so you don’t have to reach under the compressor.

The only issue I had with it is it required a little tweaking. The side drain valve was leaking a little so I had to take it out and put some plumber’s tape on it and it stopped the leak. The other was the compressor itself is very quiet but the cage that covers the belt rattled like hell.

I used zip ties to hold the loose spots of the cage together and it did the trick. It runs very quiet now. The only thing it does not have that I wish it did, is a low oil shut off. It has a large window and it is easy to see you have oil in it, but just for safety sake would be nice.

Over all it is a great compressor and would recommend it. I looked for one for a while and could not find a better compressor for the price, even used.

Having checked the reviews before buying, the first thing I did was to check all the fittings. It was a good idea- all were loose and leaking air. I tightened and sealed them with Teflon tape. I was unable to find the compressor oil capacity in any paperwork provided, or on Campbell Hausfeld’s web site.

I filled the compressor and started it. I performed the 1 hour, no-load run time for the break in. I actually used it for first time today. I was using a die grinder with a cutoff disc to grind spot welds on a rebuilt fender.

There were no other tools in use at the same time, but the compressor runs continuously and is unable to maintain 90 psi while grinding. The compressor oil is quickly turning dark after 2 hours of work time.

I am becoming somewhat concerned about the durability of the compressor! This compressor replaced a 15 year old Craftsman 60 gallon oil-less compressor. It’s only fault was lack of volume at 90 psi=constant run time.

I just received this compressor as a direct ship from the manufacturer. Ordered for my home shop replacing a single stage 5hp 60 gal upright compressor due to the tank rusting to an unsafe condition.

Old unit was 13. 5 cfm at 90 and just wasn’t enough at times. This unit offered 31 CFM at 100psi – awesome! While I ordered the PE07V080V1, what I received is actually the EI07V080V1, which according to Emax, is the same thing.

Rural King’s price blew everyone else away for this model! Order Placed:11/22/21, Shipped: 12/14/21 via FedEx, received 12/18/21. Shipping information was initially messed up but Rural King customer service was able to work with Emax to straighten out the issue.

Received undamaged on a massive heavy built pallet. Be prepared for a lifting mechanism that can lift the compressor off the pallet. At about 850 lbs, it’s big and top heavy. If you think you can get it off the pallet without a lift, you would be setting yourself up for failure.

The unit did not come with documentation but the manuals for the compressor and pump are downloadable from the Emax Compressor site. The Emax site has the proper manuals which contain information on the pressure fed oil system.

The information in the manuals is very thorough. The compressor comes fully assembled and ready to wire. Generally requires a 230v 50 amp circuit. Test run went exceptionally well with no leaks detected.

The compressor was quiet reminding me of a large displacement street motorcycle at idle. Oil pressure and shutoff pressure all checked good. Unbelievable how cool the pump operated. The picture for the PE07V080V1 is misleading.

The unit displayed is black, yet yellow is what was shipped. Love the yellow! The pic also shows what appears to be a splash pump but actually comes with the Eaton pressure oiled APP4V1043TP-02 10HP 2 Stage Air Compressor Pump.

very pleased with this! Right now, working on the plumbing, trying to place a 50 CFM Tsunami water/air separator, oil coalescing filters and pressure regulator system as well as a Tsunami auto tank drain.

The only issue I have is I am currently confused over the actual warranty for this compressor. The the Rural King sales information indicates “5 Year full parts warranty, including tank, motor, pump, all components” but later indicates “3 Year Factory Warranty On Pump & Tank 2 years on compressor components”.

After registering the compressor for the warranty and thinking it was 5 years, I received a 1 year warranty certificate back. I emailed Emax back asking for clarification on the length of the warranty and am awaiting a response.

Seems a number of Emax retailers I compared showed the same or similar confusing warranty information. What’s good to know is that Emax is built by Airbase Industries, makers of Polar Air compressors and Eaton pumps.

Despite the warranty confusion though, I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Made the purchase on November 13, 2021 and they took my $2300. 00 but are yet to bother shipping it. Today is December 14, 2021. Then RK has the nerve to send me a message asking how much I love my air compressor.

I buy a ton of stuff online and this is one of the worst experiences yet. I will probably never buy anything from RK again as a result.

I have had the EMAX 10 hp compressor for about a week now. No issues and it is working with a sandblaster fairly well along with other tools, Only down note was when I received it we had to run another electric line due to warnings on tank needed to be #3 wire if over 50 ft.

Had we known that ahead of time could have saved some time. No Biggie. Other than that there was a bad wire connection in the box from the factory I would say someone got lazy it’s a tight fit and they missed half the wires when hooking them in.

But we fixed it and everything seems fine so far.

After 40 years, I finally decided to splurge and replace my very reliable old 2hp Quincy compressor. I needed more air volume to run my sand blasting equipment. So I researched the heck out of them and splurged and bought a real dandy! My criteria was: It had to be 220volt 10 HP, have heavy duty cast iron cylinders, crank & rod bearings, run at low rpm with high CFM, and be quiet.

I also knew I wanted 120 gallon air tank, and it had to be MADE IN AMERICA!Well, this certainly fits the bill 100%. What a beast!. and I mean that in the nicest possible way. It is certainly heavy duty.

And, I cannot believe how quiet this baby is. VERY NICE! The customer service at EMAX is outstanding. Real live bodies that speak perfect English and know their product. a huge win-win for their customers.

I purchased it online from Compressors Direct and they were great to deal with. Real straight shooters with no jerking you around. They told me up front that it would be a couple of months. No different than any other big ticket items these days.

Always go with the biggest tank to get the most out of your compressor. For the price, it should include an hour meter. I guess they do offer one as an accessory, but I didn’t see it and will order one online and install it so I can do maintenance on time.

You will not be disappointed with this unit!.

This compressor is awesome. It is so quiet compared to my previous one. The auto drain is louder than the compressor. It effortlessly ran everything I tried, now time to get a bigger sandblaster 🙂 I was very happy with build quality.

My only minor complaints are 1) I wish the whisper box could be mounted on the side instead of just the rear 2) the electrical connectors could be bigger I ran 6ga from the panel, but the contactor had a sticker saying 10-14ga, I was able to make 8ga fit but it was tight.

The compressor had a sticker for 8ga or 6ga depending on distance. Both are minor nits and very specific to my use case. If you need a compressor for a small shop, you can’t go wrong with this Emax. Update: 12/29 I have been using it with a larger sandblast cabinet (nozzle rated at 25CFM) and it has worked flawlessly and kept up no problem.

Very happy with my purchase.

Compared to the compressor it replaced it is about 1/2 as loud. Compared to a rotary screw compressor I own at another location I have it is about twice a loud as that one but less then 1/2 the price.

So that is all what I expected. My only complaints are. 1. I was told it was in stock when I ordered it but it still took 3 months. Really? 2. Two fittings were left loose from the factory and leaked air at startup.

No big deal. 3. No owners manual included. Had to go on line and down load. It was not easy to find. This compressor has a unique feature called continuous run. I havent used it yet but I can see it being very valuable for certain situations.

FYI this compressor is about 750 lbs in the box. That presented a few challenges to getting to its intended location.

I bought this because of the air volume at 125 PSI. Yes it does make a lot of air and for a single guy in the shop using air tools it’s the best bang for your buck IMO BUT, I have had to replace the head gasket.

It was under warranty and Ingersoll rand service came to my home to fix it. The tech said it’s a common problem – the gasket blows out between the cylinders. To reduce the chance of it happening again, he prick punched 5 marks at the narrow point between the cylinders to help keep the gasket from moving.

NO problems since with the head gasket. After about 10 years of use the valve assembly crapped out. Replaced then and no problems since. Finally, after about 13 years of use, the pressure switch quit working.

It’s not exactly what I had hoped for but it’s still a good value. Even my 15HP commercial Qunicy compressor at work has needed a rebuild and I thought those were the very best you could buy.

Pump went out within 10 hrs. Now I get to wait weeks for a replacement or months perhaps…. They’re knowingly selling these and they’re breaking down. Every review from stores show this is a common problem with these compressors.

Now I have thousands of dollars in body work that will flash rust before I can paint it due to the garbage they sold me.

Zoro took care of the shipping, with a discount, I couldn’t find it for less. Great Customer Service. Nice compressor that Ingersoll Rand will stand behind. I spoke to their customer service folks as well.

Buy the synthetic oil/air filter start up kit. Your warranty is extended for another year. BE SURE TO REGISTER THE PRODUCTS on line at Ingersoll Rand’s website.

I purchased this compressor about a year ago. The compressor operates dependably and appears to be well made. My one complaint has to do with the location of the tank’s drain valve – at the bottom of the tank.

My compressor is floor mounted so you have to kneel down and reach under the compressor’s stand to feel for the drain valve. The valve itself has a tiny knurled knob which is at times difficult to turn.

The operations manual states you should do this daily which I do – I just wish it were more convenient.

Excellent compressor good price for 3 phase, just wish better oil level checking/monitor setup.

Shipping was slow, difficult to unload due to no safe lift points. Missing the side outlet port and valve. Drain valve is good quality- you will use it constantly. Very loud compressor. I use it daily building car bodies and it struggles to keep up while using 1 d/a sander- the 3 ports are nice but I only allow using 1 tool at a time in fear of overheating.

Its a good hobby compressor but I wouldnt recommend it for commercial use. Having buyers remorse for choosing this model but the other brands and models may have similar problems. I may just be hard to please.

I attempted to buy this compressor, two separate compressors were shipped to me. They were both tipped over and damaged. Who thinks it is a good idea to ship a nearly 6 for tall 500 pound top heavy item on a double stacked pallet with no protection other than a cardboard box, and apparently the shipping company doesn’t strap anything down.

While they have my nearly $1500 and I still have no product a month after original purchases. I was told my refund would be to me today, which again was a failure. It’s now past closing time and still no refund.

I’m not impressed with much of anything that has taken place during this ridiculous drawn out attempted purchase! I’m sure the air compressor does what it’s supposed to but it’s impossible to know if they can’t even get it to me without smashing it first.

This compressor is terrific for running just about anything I’ve put die grinders, a sand blaster, air hammers, and every size impact/ratchet you can imagine and it doesn’t fade at all. I also personally like that it has a pressure regulator and two decent female air couplers already plumbed to the front.

I have read all the previous reviews on here and also on a couple other sites about the compressor coming damaged, well I can say that mine came in perfect condition and that the box/ packaging was done properly.

To add on that note there was a neat shipping label that had some powdery die that would indicate if the box had been tilted, just another peace of mind that it hadn’t received a rough ride getting to me.

Ordered compressor due to an urgent need as our old compressor failed. Waited approximately 2-3 weeks for new compressor to arrive. When it did finally arrive it had shipping damage to the main copper fill line.

Called to report damage. After having to take several more photos of all the serial numbers on the unit, I was informed that not only did i have shipping damage, but they had shipped me the wrong unit.

When I asked exactly what was wrong with the unit they would not tell me, only to have them ask me if i was happy with the unit and wanted to keep it. As it was damaged that answer was no, but also since the said something else was wrong, why would I want to keep it.

Unit was re-prepped for shipment and sent back. About a week later the second unit arrived and it was shipment damaged in the same copper tube as the first unit only in a different place. As I inspected the unit further.

looking for why they said they sent the wrong item I discovered that the entire cooling condenser assembly was left off the first unit. Why could they not of said that in the first place instead of asking me if I wanted to keep the unit? Seems a bit deceptive at this point.

We have now been down over a month. So this time they just sent out the bad part and we installed it ourselves to help save more down time. There was no offer of a discount for all the time and trouble spent on getting the correct and good unit to arrive.

Not to mention the month of production down time all this lack of quality control and poor shipping practice called.
