Speakers arrived with no fasteners. requires self tapping, coated screws with tiny heads (in order for them to nest in the recess well molded into the plastic shroud/grill. ) Even Ace Hdwe did not have the proper fastener, so had to improvise.

Also. No instructions of any kind. Since these Polk’s were 2 1/2 times the price of the Jensen’s in there previously you’d think fasteners would be included.

Ordered 2 sets of the 5-1/4 one for the for the front speakers in my Jeep Tj and another set for the rear sound bar. Installed easily and had the wires and screws in the box. Great sound waaaay better than the factory ones.

as a huge Polk Audio fan I was a little disappointed by the sound quality my cheaper Sony speakers I was replacing sounded better. For the price, they were ok I’m just used to better sound from polk, even at this price point.

These speaker sound great hooked up to my factory stereo. Excellent bass and clear highs, now I need a new head unit to match them.

I have recently Bought two of the Polk Audio DB572 DB+ 5×7 (DB 572 ) and they sound awesome and will be buying two more for the rear. I would definitely recommend these for the loud and clear sound ! the all weather protection is a plus.

make sure you buy the speaker wire Harness Adapter.

Excellent value. Using as rear deck speakers in a four speaker auto environment. Polk’s have excellent sensitivity & frequency response – high class audio ! … highly recommend.

I purchased these to replace speakers in a 21′ Larson bowrider (2004 212 LSI). I don’t listen to music on the boat; I simply needed these to: a) look good and b) function. Installation was simple (needed to drill new holes due to a strange OEM size Larson used – not a fault of this product) but that took no time at all.

After hooking it up to the stock Clarion head unit, I fired it up. I was expecting AM-radio quality sound (due to brand, price, and 5. 25″ size of the speaker. ) Much to my surprise, I was wrong! With a little bump to the bass EQ, these things actually sounded halfway decent! So much so that now I’m considering installing two more.

They’re not going to rock the house, but I was legitimately happy with their performance given the price. I was expecting sound quality similar to the speakers they put on my RV (which are horrible. ) These are much better than those.

The only reason I docked a star was due to the weatherproofing. The back of the speakers are less protected than the stock ones I removed. Due to the mounting location in my boat, the backside of the speakers protrude into the underseat storage areas.

Wet life jackets and whatnot will definitely be dripping on them, so I wish it had a little more weather protection like the stock ones did.

These speakers rock! I installed them after blowing the factory speakers in our new pontoon after the second time out. the Jensen radio put out too many watts for the 2 x 50 watt speakers that came from factory.

The only issue installing these was the hole needed to be enlarged by 1/4 all around. Screw holes lined up but magnet housing is kind of bulky. But after installing 4 of these, I cant blow these at full volume, and I dont even cruise at 3/4 volume because these things are loud! Half volume sounds awesome and the sound quality is very good.

Waterproof as well, we keep it covered unless on the lake, but we got caught in torrential rains and hail with 60mph winds soaking everyone and every square inch of the pontoon, and these things didnt miss a beat during it.

Yes, I had the music going trying to get to shore. I am very satisfied with them so far, I hope to get a few years out of them.

Decent construction, appear that they will hold up,. Installed two years ago now, and they’re out in the elements a good part of the year, and are holding up so far. I treat them with no respect whatsoever, and can’t really demand much from such an inexpensive option as a boat speaker, but so far they’re earning a good reputation.

Decent, not great, sound and apparently pretty robust construction!! A good value, they are. Update year three: Replaced original two speakers (not the Boss 3rd and 4th reviewed above) with the same Boss 6.

5″ and everything’s working out fine. Appreciate the fact that the mounting hardware is stainless steel for durability.

I replaced blown Clarion 100 watt marine speakers in a boat with these Pyle Hydra 6. 5 because they were 400 watts (200 watts per speaker?). They are superior for $36. 62 delivered. They get a little distorted when cranked all the way up.

If you’re looking for a decently priced speaker, that was easy to install, this is it. If you are looking for a premium speaker, with excellent sound when cranked, and want to blow your ear drums, spend more money! So far, very happy.

Great value for marine speakers. Sounds great. Replaced much more expensive brand that was old and brittle. Easy to install even though the hole pattern was 1/8″ smaller than previous speakers. Speaker wires provided in the box need to be upgraded to heavier gauge so I reused the existing.

They are 200 watt and water proof marine type speakers. Ideal for door panels where the water from rain may get to them. They have a super sound and can take the load. Easy to install all hardware and wiring are included.

I have NO CON’S for this product. I removed my old door speakers and had the new one’s installed in 15 minutes. Just make sure like with everything else in live make sure it is the correct size. If your old speaker is 5.

25 in diameter make sure the new ones are. Don’t try stuffing a 6 inch speaker in a 5 inch hole it won’t fit. Square pegs will not fit a round hole as well.

Bought for use on my ranger utv, sounds good, great price, I’m happy with them. If you are looking for reasonably priced that sound good get these. I’m sure they are not going to handle extremely loud volume, but I can hear them very well over the engine sound of my ranger.

This is a good product for a good price if you are looking for “normal performance” speakers. I would recommend them.

Wanted marine speakers for a beater ’84 toyota truck so the moisture wouldn’t get to them. Needed to mount them in the kick panels, which don’t have much room. These were just the ticket — very shallow depth and built-in grill.

Was pleasantly surprised at how good they sound, especially for the price. Now we’ll see how they hold up over a damp, cold winter.

Goood value for replacement speakers. Dont expect too much and you wont be disappointed. Good clear sound solid construction. Good solder joints. Cant beat the price anywhere and its a unique design on the grill.

The covers dont come off, its all one piece.

I’ve purchased these speakers after months of browsing trying to find the best solution for audio on my motorcycle. The sound quality is very good and, given the price range, a great set of speakers.

The speakers are well made and feel very good quality, these will do me nicely.

Ive never heard worse speakers in my life! Maybe its the waterproofing, but they are so incredibly high pitch that they gave me a headache within seconds. The perfect sound for torturing people – even with their favorite song.

If your looking for Bose level sound…look elsewhere. But for the money this s a very good set of speakers.

Read the reviews and replaced with same speakers I had. Only use them when outside, having a beverage and enjoying the summer. It’s not a rock concert so my volume is appropriate for my area, the first speakers lasted six years.

You can spend more $$$ but the same results might happen since they are exposed to the elements. When looking at speakers pay critical attention to the depth of your former speakers and new one that you may like, a half inch could be the difference of more work expanding a setting to place the device (sometimes there is not much more room on a RV) and sending it back.

Two wires to hook up but needed to set four new drill holes since former holes were not usable being “cheap” wood, not a killer project. My advice, stay away from fancy light flashing units, chances are you will need to attached more wires, besides, the units are exposed to the environment.

“You get what you pay for”. yep, usually and definitely in this case. I hooked them up, prior to drilling holes in my boat; thankfully. I would have been embarrassed to turn the stereo on, with these speakers hooked up to it.

I get it, $25, but still, I’ve heard better quality sounds from a tin-can reflective speaker.

Used this speaker to replace the factory speaker in our camper. It was the same brand that that was already in there, so we knew how it worked already. Perfect fit, as opposed to another one that we tried.

These speakers are shallow so that they can fit in the recessed area for ceiling and wall mounted speakers.

Does this speaker produce a good sound and work reliably? No it does not. But is this speaker inexpensive compared to the competition, consistently waterproof, and come with the required mounting hardware? Also no.

The only “good” thing about this speaker is that it is the exact replacement for the outdoor waterproof speakers that Winnebago has installed on many of their motorized RVs for the past 6+ years. It has a uniquely small mounting hole that makes any alternative speaker installation impossible unless you are willing to cut a larger hole into the side of your RV.

Keep your old screws as this speaker does not come with any. If for some insane reason you are installing these for the first time keep in mind that the speaker connections for positive and negative are different sizes and do not match those used by other typical speakers.

You will need to buy a variety pack of connectors so that you can get the two sizes you will need. How to replace a Winnebago outdoor speaker: 1. Unscrew the old speaker and use a flat razor to push under the edges and loosen the butyl sealant.

carefully pry the speaker loose while using the razor to separate the speaker and butyl from the outside wall. Clean the butyl sealant off the RV using something like Goop-off or d-limonene. 2. Purchase 3/4″ by 1/4″ butyl sealant tape.

I had to get 30′ of it even though I only used about 6″ for the speaker. Put it in the freezer and only take it out right before you start working. You have about 5 minutes from the time you remove it from the freezer before it becomes a sticky unworkable mess, so time the next few steps carefully.

3. Cut the tape in half lengthwise for about 7-8″ (making it 3/8″ wide instead of 3/4). Press the tape around the narrow inside ledge around the inside of the speaker. 4. Make the speaker connections, test them to ensure the speaker functions, then bend the connectors upward so that they are almost parallel to the back of the speaker.

If you do not bend them the depth of the speaker+connectors will be too much for the available space. You might want to do a dry run of this step before putting the butyl in place to make sure you got it all correct.

5. Insert at least two screws into the screw holes so that you can align the the speaker properly. Carefully press the speaker against the wall guiding the screws into the existing holes. With butyl tape you only get one chance, so get it right the first time or you will have 30 minutes of cleaning off the butyl before you can replace it and try again.

There is a very high chance you will damage the speaker in the cleaning process and have to replace it again, so don’t mess this up! 6. Screw in all the screws. Make sure you press the speaker tightly while doing this so you do not strip the screw holes.

The speaker should be flush all the way around. 7. Use a flexible sealant like Dynaflex 230 Clear and go around the outside edge sealing the speaker. Wet your finger and smooth the seal all the way around.

Clean any excess with a paper towel. Do not use silicone – it will make a huge mess and make it almost impossible to replace the speaker the next time when it fails (probably about 6 months from your installation).

8. Contemplate how other outdoor waterproof speakers (like Pyle) come with waterproofing gaskets, screws, and connectors that eliminate the need for butyl tape and would be much easier to work with. Have a few second thoughts about your hesitation to cut a larger hole into the side of your expensive RV.

These are the exact same as what comes with most RV outdoor speakers. They are crap but heck, buy a pair every year & you’ll be golden. Here’s why I found they are basically the only replacement. they are the right diameter AND the right depth.

RV walls aren’t deep enough to house regular speakers that sound good. If you want to get “NICE” speakers, you’ll have to get custom so you can create room. For now, I’m planning a pair of these crappy things a a year.

Make sure to get outdoor self tappers for your RV or keep your old ones. These have none.

As always, you get what you pay for. These speakers are plastic from top to bottom – including the back housing. The only reason I bought these specific speakers is that they are the exact speakers that fell apart (after 8 years) and needed to be replaced (camper exterior).

For $12 per speaker, I’m fine with the quality level, and given their purpose (some music as we sit under the canopy at the campsite) they are just fine.

Very good value so far. The sound quality is better than I expected for the price. I bought these speakers to replace the old 5 inch speakers on boat, even the screw mounting holes were a perfect match.

My only complaint, the terminals were smaller and not marked +/-.

So far so good .Good sound and are better Quality than the one’s I bought from someone else. They fell apart after 3 months in the elements. Hope they last. I think they will.

I bought this speakers for my motorcycle, made custom wooden box for them. they work, and they are loud as well. but sound is bit distorted, the most sad part is that they do not produce any bass. frequency response for these speakers is 120hz to 18k.

I am a musician, and i have nice quality speakers all over my house. you can’t even compare the sound of real brands to this. even my Sony speakers i bought 30 years ago have better sound. So. for a regular person this might be a great choice for the price, but, i would highly recommend you buying more expensive speakers, for better sound and bass.

I had the smaller size speakers and they sounded great. I’m sure that these Pyle Dual 6.5” Waterproof 400 Watt Marine Speakers will sound excellent!

Installed a front pair of 5. 25 Boss on the front shelf of my Polaris. Had to have a pair of 6. 5 Boss for the rear. Game on! Had to fashion some front and rear speaker boxes with ABS plastic and a heat gun.

It was a pain, but it’s a one of a kind.

They seem nice. I was mislead by some forums stating that 6. 5 inch speakers would fit a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ soundbar without modifications. These look like they would fit with some cutting and drilling which I did not want to do.

The Boss 5. 25 inch speakers fit perfect in my soundbar and sound great so if you want speakers for your soundbar and don’t want to modify it, get the 5. 25 inch ones.

I purchased several pairs of these speakers to build atv speaker tubes for my friends and myself. Each pair were powered by a small amp. We were all very pleased with the quality of sound considering the price.

Although there was some distortion at the very highest volume setting, overall they were very loud and clear. Theyve been washed several times with no issues. I would recommend these speakers for a low budget marine system.

I’m actually surprised how awesome this figure looks in person, over the many pics I’ve seen online. Especially the robotic parts on him. He is made partially of PVC plastic (like Japanese Godzilla figures).

His main body is of harder plastic, but his head and limbs are softer. So if he fell and landed on them, you won’t have to worry about it breaking. HE’S HUGE!!!! A lot bigger than I expected. Really looks awesome next to my standard 6-7 inch Spawn figures, including the MK 11 Spawn figure.

At first glance they appear to be silver and black. Wrong! Thats just the light reflecting off the speaker. It still matches my boats color scheme but that silver would have worked out better. Kind of a let down.

Having said that. Ive installed them and they sound ok. You do get what you pay for. They sounds very high and tinny. If I install a subwoofer on the boat it might balance it out. Searching marine subwoofers now.

I purchased these (4) as replacements for 8-10 year old Pioneers in my outdoor patio. There’s no comparison to the Polk DB 651 speakers in my boat. The primary problem is they have a weak 30 watt rating vs the Polk’s 100 watt.

I also have an amp in the boat and can blast them without distortion. The Pioneers have good highs and decent bass at low to mid range volume but anything over half way and they begin to distort. Very disappointing as the other Pioneers were much better (the rubber wore out thereby the need to replace).

You can’t add an amp because of the low watts but didn’t have one in the patio before so wasn’t worried about the low watt rating thinking the previous model had similar specs. These would not work over the boat engine noise but may be suitable as patio speakers as long as you don’t crank them up.

Look good though in my set up.

I had some discontinued Clarion marine speakers. The newer version of what I had were much more expensive. But I didn’t want to have to drill new holes on my boat. These matched up perfectly! Was so easy to install.

Just had to plug the speakers cable in and the speaker lined up to the existing holes perfectly! And it sounded great!.

Distorted sound quality at higher volumes. Good sound quality at low and mid volume levels.

Sound was very good for my jet ski very surprised. Be aware speakers do not come with wires. Easy install very durable design. Also comes with a warranty. Just watch your amp watts if you are using both.

I bought these for my Rv hooked an amp up to them and the sound just ok nothing great they do the job. slight crackle on one of them i guess the quality just isn’t that great

They sound good and can handle some power. They’re only 5.25″ speakers so I didn’t expect them to shake the boat but I wanted good bass and clear highs. These speakers are well worth the money.

These were on Home Essentials Direct for less than $20, and I needed a pair of filler speakers for my cabin. Bought them and popped these in, and they sound great for their size, and especially for the price! Went back to buy another pair, but they had doubled in price.

Still worth it.

Product is of good quality. Putting them on my camper outside. Replacing the same type that didn’t have the white case on to protect them. Easy to install and sound is good like the ones I am replacing.

I thought I was ordering 2 only but received 4. Didn’t know they came packed 2 per box. Will have to send 1 box back. Lol.

I bought without too much input from reviews. These speakers are to replace some 5 1/4″ mount speakers in the cockpit of my sailboat. Compared to Sony and some other generic cabin speakers these a re a little light on bass.

Could be that they need some use before the lows come out. Anyway, they sound ok and look much better that the UV cracked, crazed and broken grille’s of the old speakers.

This is the only place that I could find these speakers!!! My RV has these on the outside and one of them had blown so I needed to replace them. Looked all over the place but couldn’t find any. Awesome product and great price.
