it works, but i feel its expensive for what it is. If your gonna charge 80-100 bucks maybe take the time to file off the burrs. It really seems poorly made for how much it costs. Id say if you can get one for 50ish it wold be a ok deal.

I bought it because I needed it and it works with the other like it i have. Tho i bought the rest used for under 20 a piece. IT says you can fit up to a 15 gallon on the 2nd shelf, but its pretty cramped with just a 10.

Looks really nice with the tank, has deep shelves, great for storing my tank supplies, I think the product is great. My only gripe is the price really, I bought it for £86 which was the cheapest I could find it anywhere.

Considering that it’s really just a flat pack shelving unit at the end of the day, it’s kind of expensive for what it is. I probably could’ve found a different tank stand or just regular cupboard/shelves for quite a bit cheaper if I wasn’t so bothered about it matching the tank and fitting in my small space.

Love it! Kind of expensive for what you get but it matches the tank perfectly, so I don’t regret the purchase. Delivery was fast, assembly easy, so no complaints, thanks!

Bought the Brooklyn 29 gallon stand online with home delivery in order to upgrade baby goldfish for another 6 months until they’re large enough to join their friends in the 150 gallon tank. I felt good about purchasing this stand because I already have the Brooklyn stand for 40 gallon breeder and 10 gallon tanks, but this time I was sorely disappointed.

I still think it’s a solid stand as I prefer metal stands over over any stand made from particle boards. This stand came fully packaged as if it has never been opened and returned, however there were gummy hand prints on most of the pieces.

It was very scratched and had two dents on one piece. One bolt absolutely would not thread properly. I discovered that the threads were really messed up, so I had to cut off the end and carefully sand it, so then it went into the stand smoothly.

Overall, it went together as expected with the usual efforts to be careful to align the top and sides carefully to ensure the joining pieces were level so as not to cause stress points on the tank. After putting it together, I realized that one side piece that joins the tip was bent ( not from me as I am not that strong), so I had to take it apart and turn it so that there would not be a stress point on the top.

I do love the stands, but am seriously disappointed in the manufacture of this one. Thankfully, I had the tools to fix the problems. I will spray paint it to cover the bad scratches. Petco should place better quality controls on the Brooklyn stands.

I do appreciate the price point, so thanks for that part. I would have rated it less except that the extra star is to honor the awesome staff at my Las Cruces, NM store.

This is a great tank stand. It seems custom-made for my new Zilla 40 gallon critter cage. There is absolutely no over-hanging – the two are a perfect match. I put it together myself and it was not hard to do.

I would recommend doing this with another person simply because the pieces need to be held up before you screw them in and that was a little tricky doing it by myself. Also if you have your own Allen wrench it will be probably longer than the one included and therefore easier to use.

I used the Allen wrench that was included and it was not bad at all. Not having a bottom shelf presented absolutely no problem for me. With a bottom-shelf probably it would just accumulate lots of clutter.

I am so happy with this purchase as it gives a streamlined look.

I was upgrading my aquatic turtles tank and bought this stand to hold their new 40 gallon tank. It was on sale for only $100 so I was okay with having to add on shelves. It should have been super easy to put together but was not.

The pre-drilled leveler holes were drilled on opposite ends of the side frames. One side we had to drill out the leveler screw holes one one of the side frames to be able to screw in the top shelf. Disappointed in the low quality of the product.

It looks nice now that we have it together, but we will see how long it lasts. We live quit a distance from petco so it was not an option for us to just return or exchange it.

First one came was broke was very easy to contact Walmart fedex came got the broken tank I had my new tank within a week so all together from the time I originally ordered it only took about week an half love it tank is very beautiful it comes with alot more than what description says.

Rip off. 200 bucks worth of stuff for almost 400. also be sure to look at dimensions, this has a long and low profile. not typical.

I just bought this stand. Received a nice 20% discount to buy online and pick up 35 minutes away. ugh. I set it up and low and behold it’s not even close to level. We all know you can’t drop a 55 on her and let it bow underneath.

I ended up putting alien two sided clear tape and cardboard to make this level out so my tank wouldn’t crack. Sad that I had to rig this up to make it work. I would look elsewhere before purchasing this stand.

I have the same stand in the 40 breeder and it was level. This one. not even close. This is the most important thing when you buy a stand it was a fail.

I’ve been searching for a sturdy and well-priced tank stand for my 55 gallon. I really wanted a wooden one but they were either sold out every website or so overpriced or even had terrible reviews. I gave in and purchased this one and I’ll admit I was nervous it wouldn’t do the job.

But, I was wrong. It’s super sturdy and totally trustworthy. The metal is strong and a very pretty design. The shipping was way shorter than expected/estimated and the stand was on sale! I highly recommend it and if you’re unsure, go for it.

It came with assembly instructions and a small wrench to put together which was simple and easy to follow. Super thrilled with my purchase!.

It’s definitely a good stand for the price, especially compared to other stands out there, this one is much cheaper. It can also hold 2 10-gallon tanks below the 55-gallon, or a 20-gallon, etc. which is nice.

One of the only major downsides to this stand is that there is no storage, and if you’ve ever had a working fish tank, you know how much stuff eventually accumulates. This thing is very sturdy though, and will definitely hold your tanks for maby years.

I have had the stand for about a week and it is truly holding the 55 gallon tank as expected. I bought a 29 gallon stand about five years ago and it is still standing strong. This one is sturdy and the price suits the style of the stand.

I used a better tool than what is provided to tighten the screws for the stand. It took less than 40 minutes to put together.

Using for my 55 gal tank. Everything is good so far but with my tank being on the top of stand, it just feels that it is really top heavy and could easily tip over. Stand was so easy to put together though.

Only like four quick snap ins and some leg boots which took literally a couple of minutes to do.

Sturdy and nice. Some of the reviews would have you believing that this stand is very wobbly. We haven’t had any problems, and it seems very sturdy. It fits our tank perfectly.

I will give 100 stars if I could!! Why! Great wood, solid structure! I bet it won’t collapse even if you and your spouse jump on it. door fits easy. Now for the door hinges, make sure you install them as shown in picture of manual book.

The hinges could fit in reverse which will make door to open only half. See attached picture and you’ll know what I am talking about. Assembly took just 15 minutes, but fitting door ate my 30 minutes.

A hint, while installing door, don’t tight all screws of top sheet, you will need loose top to adjust and fit door hinges. My wife and I had fun installing the stand. It was easy but door made it stupidly difficult, my fault (married guys know who in the fault always when wife helping you out!! lol) But seriously, this is the best cabinet stand you get in the market for 40 breeder, fits perfectly! Very very sturdy!! Downside, I ordered two stands actually, the same order I had to do twice because after ordering first one, I saw price difference in this product and immediately I ordered second one and then contacted customer care to cancel my first order, however, fortunately both arrived.

Now the glitch here is one stand had broken slice in top and bottom pieces. So I opened second one and it was in perfect shape, no scratches, no broken pieces. The magnet to lock/unlock the door is very good, does the job fine!!.

I have not yet put this together, and won’t for at least another week. But I have had aquariums for 20 years; tropicals, discus, and salt water, and wish to make two points. I am assuming this is a good stand, based on reviews in terms of it being SOLID.

But two main points. 1. This was on sale for about $88. At that price, can’t be beat. You cam buy stands that may be nicer at a fancy aquarium shop and they will be assembled and can put in your car (if car is large enough), but will be at least twice the price.

2. But this is the important point and why I wrote this review. Some people com[lain that stands do not have shelves. They should NOT have shelves. This is why. When you get experienced at the hobby you realize that a canister filter is what you want.

And depending how shelves are inserted in a stand there may be no room to stand the canister filter! (If you are one of those who love the ease of cleaning a hang on the back (HOB) filter, fine. Get a canister filter plus a HOB.

Then you can use chemi-pure and bioballs in the canister, and use charcoal if you desire in the HOB. Note- you do not want to use charcoal if you wish to grow plants. But if you need to dose drugs or chemicals for disease, after treatment you may want to add charcoal to a HOB filter to remove the drug/chemical).

But my main point is that buying an Eheim classic filter- not very easy to set up and poor instructions but plenty of you tube videos clarify their use- you end up with a filter that will give you sparkling clean water.

and many people have run the Eheim classic for over 20 years without a single problem! So, if you want a canister filter, you do NOT want shelves in a stand. Also, when I set up my next tank I plan to also put a battery backup next to the canister filter.

You can buy a solid one-hour battery backup at Staples for about $200. (They are usually used for computers) Why? Because I Iive where there are a lot of trees, and not uncommon for us to lose power for 5 mins, or 10 mins, or 30 mins and then restored.

And if an hour? I am still covered with my filter and heater running. I also plan to use a device that bubbles air in the tank when power goes out. This is an air pump that plugs in and has a battery in it.

It is always off when it detects electricity but if the power goes off the battery is triggered and it bubbles air (and thereby some oxygen) into your tank. So, a canister, a battery backup. and a power-outage triggered oxygenator.

I want NO SHELVES in my stand. After all my equipment is set up, then I can buy some L shaped metal brackets at Home depot and a get a few small pieces of wood and put shelves where there is space, to hold food and other small items.

SUMMARY: An aquarium stand should NOT have shelves. (UNless you have no intention of using a canister filter or battery backup).

We replaced an old cabinet and got this one to put our 30 gallon aquarium. We’ve had it for a while now and its still in very great condition. It has enough room to place the essentials for our fish tank.

The box came damaged but everything inside was intact. The directions are questionable and not very clear. had to redo a couple of steps because it doesn’t say to install two of the inserts and it’s hidden in the picture.

Pretty easy install and looks great once it’s done.

Honestly, this deserves zero stars. I am experienced in putting things together, especially IKEA furniture, i am doing bunch of DIY projects around the house, but this stand is a joke. Out of the box, holes for the legs and top shelves did not align.

Should have put it in the box for a return right away. But i need a stand so i decided to try and put it together. The supplied tool is a joke, as you can only make a quarter of a turn, not even a half-turn, before you have to reposition or fetch it from the ground because it flew off into the air while you were trying to turn the nut with it.

I should have gotten my tools, but it’s so darn cold in the garage, that i decided to make do with a joke – wrench. Time comes (finally) for the brace supports. By this time, i can’t feel my hands because the wrench is so thin that it cuts into your palms every time you turn it.

Guess what, brace supports are about an inch too long to reach the corners of the top shelves. But, honestly, it doesn’t matter. Why? Because the stand has one leg on each end that is 2 inches shorter than the other, in fact, entire thing looks like it came out of the tornado.

It’s all bent, not measured properly when manufactured, useless, and totally unsecure to put a tank on. So now, since i have to move the tank today, i have to evacuate my fish from 20 to 10 gallon and hope they live.

This item is the worst product i purchased online in the last 10 years.

I bought this for a 20H tank and plan to add a 10-gallon on the bottom shelf as a quarantine/sick tank. The trick to assembling it is to follow the directions NOT to tighten the bolts all the way initially, set it where you need it, and then go around tightening all the points in turn little by little – maybe 3 iterations before really tightening them fully.

To do this, use a socket wrench rather than the tiny little wrench supplied! The stand has a really nice power-coated paint finish and is entirely sturdy enough for a small tank, but of course the narrow 12″ width of these little aquariums will mean that the whole thing (tank and stand) could be knocked over – by unruly kids, rambunctious dogs, or accidental adult movements.

That’s true even for seemingly more solid wood cabinet stands too. If you would really be worried about the tank sliding off the top (which has no retaining lip) my suggestion would be to use some black super-heavy-duty duct tape all the way around – I may do that myself.

I’d been looking for some type of cabinet to fit into a small space that would also be large enough and strong enough to hold a 20 gallon aquarium (total weight over 200 lbs). Most furniture cabinets strong enough were over $200, so when this came up on petco.

com for only $35, and perfectly sized, how could I lose? It went together very easily. (I’m handy with this sort of thing and took the extra step to sand away the finish at the spots where the legs bolt to the upper and lower frames, then glued them with metal epoxy and clamped the joints for 20 minutes before bolting).

The result is a very study stand!. It comes with a little stamped steel wrench but I used a 1/4″ drive ratchet to tighten the nuts. Don’t over tighten if you do this because you can drive the locking nut into the metal surface as it’s a bit soft.

I also cut a piece of plywood I plan to stain and bolt to the bottom frame as a shelf for accessories, and that should add a bit more strength, too. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase and UPS took only 4 days to get it from MO to CA.

It’s beautiful and sturdy. Holds my 20 gallon tank like it was made for it. I have it in my dining room and it matches my dining table perfectly. It arrived quickly which is always a plus! My only complaint is the doors.

We’ve messed with them so much, but they don’t seem do even up. One side or the other will have a big gap. They work, just drive my OCD up the wall! Overall beautiful fish aquarium stand!.

I didn’t want a fish tank, but my husband did! This stand is beautiful and sturdy. Our tank looks great on it. I’m actually happy that we got the fish tank now!

I followed the instructions to the T. Assembled the stand on its side and then upside down as instructed. This caused the stand to be extremely wobbly. I could fit a quarter under one of the legs. Took it all apart and assembled it from bottom up.

Let the bolts stay loose until it’s all together. Then slowly cross-tighten the bolts from bottom up checking for wobble every time you tighten a bolt. If it wobbles after you tighten a certain bolt, loosen it up and tighten the bolt on the opposite end.

It can take some time to get it all tightened up without a wobble. It was a frustrating process. After I got it all done, I put my 20gal on top and one of the corners isn’t fully making contact with the stand.

Hopefully after filling it with water, the entire bottom frame of the tank will make solid contact with the stand. We shall see.

It’s an okay stand. The color is a nice deep almost black brown. Simple to put together, but a little finicky with the screw in bolts and we had to try a few times on some of them, before we could get the screws in place.

It does wobble a bit, as other reviewers said… I didn’t read the reviews until after I assembled it. It isn’t wobbling enough for me to worry at the moment with no kids and no other pets but someday that might be a problem, so I guess I’ll try anchoring it to the wall.

Maybe it would be nice if this stand came with a wall anchor, with a chain or bar long enough to fit a hang on back filter behind the tank.

I got this aquarium stand for a 20 gallon tall tank. I liked the look of it and the fact that it was the exact dimensions as the tank. Looked really sleek. However, I noticed quickly that it wasn’t near sturdy enough for a 20 gallon tank.

This stand says it holds up to 180lbs. A tank with just 20 gallons of water and nothing else is nearly 170lbs. Not counting HOB filters, heaters, gravel, decorations. I noticed my reef tank I had set up with 25lbs of rock, and 20lbs of sand seemed super unstable, even when just wiping off the front glass.

I would have to hold the tank steady with my other hand or it would wobble so bad the water would slosh out…. so I was very frustrated when I saw the weight limit of this stand. Would maybe work for a 10 gallon, but don’t trust this for a 20 gallon.
