20 Best 5Mp Security Camera System (2022 Updated)

For what I wanted it for as a remote camera with power but no internet it was extremely difficult to set up. I had to set it up via a router then converted over to a hot spot, it cannot be set up wirelesssly per the hot spot you want it to run off of.

plus I had to format a SD card and that was not easy to do either. Once I got it set up how I wanted it I think its going to work for my purpose. The directions they send with the camera are not very good nor are the on line directions for how I wanted to use it.

I do think the quality of the camera is very good and the video is very good, as is the price point. It does not appear to to pick up objects that are traveling a high rate of speed like over 5 mph. I think this is the only camera on the market that can be used the way I am using it, at a entry gate.

There is no internet, I do have power, saves video to an SD card and I can down load the videos off the SD card on my cell phone if the phone has terthering capabilities. Once its set up via a router, then the phone, the hotspot on the phone communicates with the camera and you can look at the SD card or live video to adjust if you are within 10 feet or so of the camera.

At around $100 cheaper per camera and much much cheaper than the hikvision nvr its a far better unit with a slightly lower quality. The only draw back is using a wireless mouse. Need to keep reconnecting it and need to use a USB extension.

Great quality & camera picture, simple set up and ease of use. Best if you set a static IP to prevent network conflicts. Have added 2 additional RLC-520 POE camera’s & 2 E1 Pro Camera’s for inside.

Had this installed now for a few months and its faultless, comes with everything needed to install and set up. Highly recommend.

This product is a great video recording system! It provides local storage for video, so no need for cloud video storage. The cameras only require an ethernet cable for both power and data. The hardest part of the install was running the cables from the outside to the inside of the house (be sure to have a large drill).

The cameras are working great in the cold weather! I installed them in -30 degree celsius and have not had a single problem yet. (despite the -10 degree Celsius lower temperature rating). Because I installed the cameras in cold weather, a few sections of the ethernet cables cracked very easily.

I ended up having to tape those sections, so be careful if you are installing in cold weather. I have not yet figured out how to use the 2-way microphone. The cameras record audio well. If you have a large distance to run your wires, consider getting longer ethernet cables.

The ones provided are 18m, I believe. There was one location I could not reach, so I had to settle installing one camera in a different location. Another problem I had installing the cameras (my fault) was that they needed to attached to a roof from above (rather than on a sidewall).

If you are planning on installing the cameras on the outside of your house, on the sides, the bullet-style cameras might be a better fit. Overall, the feed from the cameras is great. The 1080p HD video quality is more than sufficient to provide a clear image.

I considered getting 4k cameras, but I am satisfied with my decision to get the 1080p version for the amount of quality they provide at the lower price point. If you are planning on buying an external 4TB HD to expand the video storage, be sure you buy an actual hardrive that connects into an eSATA port.

I made the mistake of buying an external usb hardrive. It does not work on the NVR in the USB port. I looked up this issue on Reolink’s website and one of the guides makes it clear that you need a hardrive that connects into an eSATA port.

My mistake, however it would have been nice for this issue to be highlighted. The Reolink app has been great so far! The reeling client is very slow and laggy. But again, the app is great! A nice feature is that the app will allow you to remote access you feed if it is connected to the internet.

When you are not actively viewing you cameras, only a nominal amount of data is used. This is great because, if you have low-data caps like me, it does not stream 24/7 and eat up all your data. In my experience, it has only been heavily using data when I am actively viewing the feed.

This is a great solution for me because it allows for 24/7 recording to the local storage and anytime connection via my smartphone app. Thank you very much!.

My daughter wanted a CCTV security system so after many hours of research and using my own knowledge/experience, I decided to get her this Reolink system plus an extra 2 x 410B4 cameras so she had 6 in total to cover all of her property.

PoE systems are a no brainer in my view as 1 cable carries the power, video and audio between camera and recorder and allows higher image/audio quality and longer cable runs. I currently have a Swann PoE system installed at my property which has served me very well but my daughter was on a fairly tight budget and the equivalent to this in a Swann or similar, would have cost way more.

The Reolink by all accounts looks like it is a rebadged Swann without the price tag but there are a couple of slight differences with the NVR and cabling. The Reolink cameras are equal in every way to Swann with great image, sound, night vision and build quality.

I am very impressed at the value of these 4mp cameras. The NVR and interface are again, identical in function to the competitor, but perhaps the outer casing of the Reolink NVR has a slightly cheaper feel to it.

One of the areas where Reolink have clearly kept the price down is the supplied mouse and the ethernet/camera cables. All the Reolink supplied cabling does work fine but are cheapish and I would question if they are to cat-5 standards.

The supplied USB mouse works fine but is seriously the cheapest available. Any mouse that takes your fancy can be used as a substitute via the USB on the NVR but in reality, once your system is set up, you will rarely be using the mouse.

If you buy an extra Swann camera, it will come with a decent cat-5 ethernet cable 18-30m in length. Extra Reolink cameras come with a completely useless 1m cable so you need to factor in the cost of extra cables, but even good cables are relatively inexpensive.

Overall I am very happy with this setup for the installed cost. Both day/night image and sound quality are as good as it gets for systems up to double this price so based on value for money, the Reolink is a clear winner.

The easiest software I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have installed several systems from different manufacturers. I won’t get into the name dropping here but from a system installer perspective, Reolink has very solid and easy to follow software.

The hardware is just as impressive. This system was purchased and installed for a friend of mine, I liked the system so much I decided to install this system at my house. The attached picture (phone screenshot) really does not show the amount of detail these cameras display.

They have been up and running for 2-weeks now with no problems. The motion detection is somewhat sensitive, but I would prefer this to be the case. The night viewing is impressive with great black and white clarity.

The phone app (Android for me) is just as well thought out as the NVR software. I would not have any problem recommending Reolink to anyone that needs an IP camera system. Plug Play and View!.

I bought and installed this camera in a paddock i have at home a month ago Its clarity of picture and sound is fantastic. Onscreen ptz controls are measured and simple to use. This with the inpicture zoom feature of reolink makes this an awesome piece of kit.

Working great once you install it. Little inconvenient since it doesn’t work with POE (needs power adapter plugged in) and doesn’t work with Reolink NVR currently sold in PB. Otherwise , great little spy.

I have two of these which I use to keep an eye on deliveries, etc. With the SD card storage and online, it works very well without a subscription. Also shows the cats coming and going!

Forget about fake reviews, paid reviews, promotion reviews, YouTube Guru reviews; this is my honest review of my experience with Blink Security Camera. No matter the brand of security camera you buy, they all have their pros and cons.

However, when I’m shopping for something it’s not solely based on the product reviews, I shop for the price, features and warranty and write my own reviews. When I review a product, it’s not an open right out the box review, I like to give the product the opportunity to prove it does what it advertise and last when throughout the warranty or beyond.

I purchased 8 of these cameras, one DOA, returned. Installed one camera to monitor the driveway with the sensitivity set at 6 and the activity zone set to grey out the street. Every 3 seconds I got an alert (cars, people, dog, cats, racoons, possums, wasps, flies, wind, anything the moved even ghosts).

I changed the sensitivity to 5, same thing, 4, same thing, with the sensitivity set between 1-3, no detection at all (Useless). After a few months, a bluish hue cover the clips and no color night vision deemed useless.

One camera was installed to monitor the front yard, it lasted about 6 months before it became non-responsive. Blink replaced it with what appeared to be refurbished because it lasted a couple day before the live view because non-responsive and over detective grey-out zone.

One camera was installed to monitor the side garage door, no issues with this camera and the battery still live after a year. One camera installed to monitor the back patio. After a few months, half the picture view darken out and the battery life lasted about about 6 months with sensitivity set at 5, detecting wasps, mosquitos, squirrels, birds and fallen pecans, deemed useless Two cameras installed to monitor the back yard, One camera is still live and active, battery life still juiced after a year.

The other camera, no detection, live view looks like a satellite view but the battery still juiced after a year. One installed to monitor the side of the house, Although this camera was not within the detection zone, it detected motion from the cars 20 feet away with the sensitivity set at 5 even when changed to 3 but the battery life still juiced after a year.

Size – I like that the camera is small and less noticeable. Battery – Battery life last as advertised in less traffic areas like the side and back yard. The camera is not recommended to be install facing or near a street due to the over sensitive activity zone feature.

Temperature – I live in Texas with 3 digit temperature, the camera has shown it can withstand temperature over 100 degrees. Motion Detection – Motions alerts aren’t that reliable. When you receive a notification alert and you click on it, instead of showing you what’s going on, it takes you to live view, It takes about 5 seconds before the clip shows up to view it (Useless).

a break-in can happen within that 5 seconds or the intruder can be gone. Activity Zone – The activity zone feature is useless, too much detection or no detection at all with the use or greyed out zones.

Retrigger Time – Sometimes i received no alerts at all with it set at 10s. I received an alert from one of the back yard cameras where there was a man in my yard. The front yard camera and side yard camera did not detect motion.

Sensitivity – Absolutely horrible. Settings above 3 are too sensitive, I received alerts every 3 seconds from the driveway camera with it set at 6, 5, and 4, set at 1-3 it detects no motion. I had to pull the camera down, caused me Insomnia.

Clip Length – Too short for live view, you have to keep pressing continue. Set at 60s is decent enough to see what’s happening. Blink security camera are decent for small areas due to the small field of view, I had to install 2 cameras to cover my back yard and it still wasn’t enough.

The camera doesn’t appear to hold up to its warranty before issues appear. After a year, I moved on to another brand (2K and 4K). The camera is not compatible with Google Home, no spotlight, sound is choppy at times.

I have several blink cameras (indoor versions) and I am pleased with them. liking the indoor cameras I decided to try the outdoor version. This camera runs on either 2 lithium AA batteries, or you can hardwire it, so no batteries are needed.

So now comes the 1st dilemma. If you hardwire it, which is the best way to run it since no batteries are needed, but the issue now becomes it has to have a cable plugged into camera which then runs to the sync module which means it has to be close to the module or you have to have a really long USB cable if you really want to place it without some limitations.

Now the 2nd dilemma, if you use the batteries, the camera has no wires limiting it and can be placed pretty much anywhere outside as long as you have a good Wi-Fi signal. the bad though. batteries! Blink says good lithium batteries will last up to 2 years, but of course that is if the camera resolution is set to low and you really don’t have the camera sensitivity high so its kicking on every time it detects something.

which takes away from the reason people put up cameras in the first place! So, if you use batteries you are limited to how high you can put the camera resolution as well as its detection sensitivity.

If you hardwire it, you can run it at full high resolution and sensitivity, but you are limited to where you can put it do to it having to have a cable connected to the module. so pick your poison! Also another con to using batteries is that when they do get low you have to change them out which means you have to go out and access the camera by pulling it off its mounting system unscrew the back plate and then replace the batteries and then remount it hopefully back to the original view and angle you had it at before taking it down.

Now as for the interface its nice and easy to use but I don’t have a Blink subscription for video storage I just use my cameras for live views only so I can’t answer to how good the Blink storage and access of videos is.

As for the cameras they are compact easy to use and the 1080 HD quality is pretty clear and detailed. The zoom on the cameras aren’t bad either. overall, I really like the Blink outdoor camera and if you can find them on sale, even better but regular price they are still a great option versus the much more expensive Nest, Ring and other expensive cameras.

I mean, I like it, but I don’t. So because of how it is there will always be a 10sec delay, always, there’s no option to have it at 0secs. So for example, if the camera sees me it will record or so many seconds (you can choose from 10s to 60s) and then there’s a delay of a minimum 10 secs and maximum of 60s, of your choosing.

So say if my car is in front of the camera and if someone is detected it will record 25s (for me) regardless of if the person stops moving or not, after those 25 secs, it will ALWAYS delay 10 secs. So they can come into view, be seen and recorded for 10s or 60s, it stops recording, they have 10 secs do to whatever they want to my car without being seen.

I mean, that’s not a lot of time, but it’s still a delay, I was under the impression there was no delay and it continued to record all movement it detects, not just for 10-60s, then none for 10s, then back to 10-60s recording.

I doubt anyone could do much damage and it’s common sense that if the camera sees them approach my car, but the damage happens in the 10 secs delay, it starts recording again, and there walking away from my car and it’s damage, it’s obvious they damaged it.

But it still bothers me. Also, battery life depends on what settings you choose, (10-60s recording or 10s-60s delay) and how often something is detected. So if you have it pointed outside at the Cars, and you and your family come and go daily, yeah it’s not going to last long about after 12 hours of recording, the batteries start to die.

It can withstand -20c to 45c. Also, there is a mount, mount can be screwed to anything, Camera snaps/clicks onto mount, so if it’s storming and it’s windy, the camera can easily pop off the mount(?).

Or so I have heard, hasn’t happen to be yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised it if did. Also, it was really easy to set up, and using the app is easy too.

I received the Blink Indoor 2-Camera System to use in my house. We have been needing something like this for a long time so I was very excited to try it out. The little box comes with everything you need to get setup right away; the two mini cameras, Blink Sync Module 2, hardware for mounting and 4 AA Lithium batteries (for the cameras).

The setup was very easy and straightforward. There is a little manual included and once you download the Blink Home Monitor app everything is laid out step-by-step. You first want to plug in the module which is powered by a micro USB plug.

There is also another USB on the device for extra storage. Once you plug it in, you pair it onto your app (home network) than you add your cameras which are powered by two AA batteries (included). The app is very easy to use; you can control the cameras, take pictures, view live and arm or disarm which make the cameras go on once motion is detected.

If it detects motion, the camera will take a short video at what it views (which included infrared night vision), it than alerts your phone and those videos are saved within the app. You can decide to save the images for a certain amount of time or delete them right away.

There is a bunch of customizations within the app that include customizable motion alerts, targeting certain zones to detect motion, camera sensitivity, clip lengths, IR Intensity etc. You can even see, hear and speak to people or your pets with the live view in real time.

I have yet to try my cameras with Alexa but you are able to monitor your home with Alexa-enabled devices. Overall, I think this is an excellent camera system. It’s very easy to install, use and the video quality is great during the day and with the infrared night vision.

I like having the option to access the images from the app or expand the storage from the module. The Lithium batteries included should run these cameras for up to two years! I would definitely recommend this system to anyone looking to get indoor security cameras.

I was pleasantly surprised how well the Blink indoor cameras worked! It was also very easy to install and set up after downloading the Blink app. The package comes with two cameras, sync module 2, and hardware to mount if you want to attach it to a wall or ceiling.

There are so many nice features that come in these small cameras. The main one that attracted me is that it is wireless. I didn’t have to make sure I had enough wire that needed to be run to the base.

These cameras need two AA lithium batteries that will keep it powered for TWO years! That’s insane! Although it does say that the longer you set the video clips, the shorter the life span. But, for me, I don’t mind running short clips and if need be, I’ll just buy more batteries.

It has infrared night vision so it can record video at night. The one tiny drawback for me was that when the night vision is enabled, it makes clicking noises as the infrared vision adjusts as the motion is detected, but I can live with that.

You can also use this to record a live feed of the area you are monitoring. There is a two-way audio component that allows you to speak to whomever is in the room and they can talk back to you. If you want, you can even talk to your pets while you’re away.

You can set the video duration from 5 seconds to 60 seconds. You can set a privacy zone so as not to record everything. Another nice add-on is that there is a temperature monitor with the camera that you can view via the app.

This is nice in case you’re away and your heat source has stopped. You can see this, and act on it so that your pipes don’t burst! Another great thing about this system is that you can monitor this from wherever you are since all the videos and settings are contained via the app.

You can be hundreds of miles away and see what is happening in your home and change any of the settings or even arm/disarm the system. What a convenience! For the price, this security camera system packs a big wallop!!! Highly recommended!.

This is my first time to buy any POE camera, and I am in total awe by this amazing set of POE. It provides a complete set of everything needed including even a 10-inch monitor except the hard drive which is ready available on amazon.

Camera picture is very clear and clean at 5mb, and the setup and GUI are intuitive enough that I get all these figured out without much reference to the manual. All in all, this is a great set of POE cameras offering an incredible value! I would buy it again without hesitation.

The Poe has performed flawlessly over the 24 hour test period, no video loss incidents. The motion detection is a bit sensitive. I turned the sensitivity down and adjusted the grid area. Will continue to tweak this.

Push notification setup was easy. The online manual is easy to follow and a great resource. Very satisfied thus far. After some tweaking the motion detection is working well. Continuing to adjust just to optimize.

The cameras themselves are of pretty good quality, and the daytime images are very good and clear. The nightvision is also quite good in my opinion. Installation was not a problem. I have it for 24/7 record,so that I can go back and only review motion triggering events.

The app works very well and the web client is well designed. Video loss has been very, very minimal. I like the fact I can monitor that. Provided me with the assurance that the performance is extremely reliable.

Not bad for the price. Monitor works great and the camera’s image is pretty clear. The ethernet cable was not as long as we needed it, but we bought additional feet to accommodate what we needed. We always had wireless camera’s before that would lose connection and had to replace.

The only Con is that this system does not come with a hard drive. We do not plan on using the system’s internet capabilities; therefor, not having a hard drive/recording capabilities will make it challenging if we ever need to refer back to an incident.

Purchased this camera to add to my Synology Surveillance station. The camera has good image quality and works well. But when it comes to the camera mount, it has a flat mounting plate with 3 raised locating pins which would work if the camera was mounted on the side of a building.

Where you could locate the location pins in such away that gravity would hold it in place. However when mounting the camera horizontally on a flat surface below the eves there is nothing preventing the camera rotating back and falling off the 3 location pins.

Hence the low rating. The camera ends up hanging from the ethernet cable.

Easy to set up, manage. There’s an app to view remotely without any complicated set up. Works with Alexa. Alerts etc without a subscription. Can power with POE and amazing clear quality. Will be buying more!.

I have had these cameras for about 7 months and sadly expected more from the claims made by Amcrest about the product. The 4K resolution claim only applies to the file that is generated; however, the actual picture’s pixel density is not 4K even when the resolution setting in the camera settings is correctly applied.

Even more disappointing is that the resolution at night is unbelievably grainy even at 4K and the distance ranges given in the product are grossly inaccurate. I can walk in front of the camera at night at about 24 ft and it looks like I am a ghost moving around in the video, completely unable to identify my face or what I am wearing.

2ft. ——> More like 15 ft at night The application used to manage the cameras is flakey at best and does not allow you to have multiple windows open to view multiple cameras at the screen’s resolution.

For example, you can only have one of the application’s windows open and that app window will only maximize to one screen so at most you can only view one camera at the full screen’s resolution. If you have more than one camera, you are stuck looking at tiny windows of each camera.

I have 8 cameras so it is highly undesirable. I will be making a warranty claim in the coming weeks. Hope this was helpful.

I’ve been using Amcrest NVR and cameras for more than 4 years now. I have installed at my clients and they are very satisfied with the quality of the product, ease of managing the systems (active hours , motion detection etc.

) Too bad that some camera models are not available yet in Canada that would make it more simple with orders and customs.

App is not Apple verified and the SD card clips are cheap and breaks off easily

TLDR- Great camera with better image quality than my other security cameras. iPhone App needs work but usable Camera Night – Night view is better than my other cameras in a similar price range. I am able to more clearly make out objects around my driveway.

Day – Daytime color accuracy is better than my other cameras as well. Colors are less saturated out of the box using auto settings. There are quite a few manual sliders you can change to get the image just the way you like it Viewable area – This camera has a much larger area of view than my other cameras.

It was one of the first things that made me say WOW. I could see way more of my yard. Clarity – using license plates as I test I was not able to identify any further than 60ft away during the day in good light conditions, which is about the same as my other brand narrow view 5mp camera.

H. 265 – compression worked well and was easy and straightforward to set. You do have to manually set this in setting and is not set by default. SD card slot – is a very nice feature to keep from having to have a NVR or VMS.

You are able to watch any triggered footage from your Amcrest app on your phone. It is also handy as backup footage should your other system go down or get stolen. POE – I love that this camera is POE.

I prefer the ease of just plugging my cameras into my POE capable switch and not messing with other cables or connectors. 2 Apps – Amcrest Cloud and Amcrest view pro Both easy to use but in my opinion need some work No way to get IP address of camera in either app You can set IP to static but you cannot choose the IP you would like to set it to without using a web browser and going to the assigned IP which you have to use other means to find Unable to format/setup SD card via phone app.

Must use management from web browser Unable to update firmware via app must manage from web browser Unable to upgrade/buy cloud storage through app. Must use web browser Not able to get cloud storage recordings of footage above 4mp even on my 8mp camera Blue Iris Easy to add to my blue iris VMS and worked well.

Blue Iris accepted H. 265 compression from this camera well with no issues. You can even set Blue Iris to receive triggers from the camera motion trigger events to help save my server CPU/GPU cycles having to watch for motion.

I’ll start off by saying this is a great camera for the price. I currently have 14 IP cameras online from multiple manufacturers. Four of those are Amcrest cameras. Most, including this Amcrest camera, are ONVIF compliant which makes them easier to integrate with Network Video Recorders (NVRs).

I have this camera connected to an Amcrest NV4116E-HS NVR, a Blue Iris server, and a Synology NVR (testing across all devices). I had no issues configuring the three NVRs to communicate with this camera.

It was really easy with the Amcrest NVR & Blue Iris Server; outside of the IP address & login credentials required by all NVRs, the Synology NVR needed to know what port to use to communicate with the camera (port 80) with the Synology camera configuration set as ONVIF compatible.

Since I have multiple NVRs, I did not test the MicroSD recording capability integrated into this camera. But after reviewing all of the options available through the web interface, I believe this camera would be an excellent option for people who don’t have centralized recording (with the addition of the microSD card).

The device itself is very well-built (solid). I liked the included mounting ring used to make the mounting process easier. This was much easier to mount than the 8MP Amcrest dome camera which has security screws (also making the 8MP camera more secure & harder to remove/steal).

Another positive for this camera is it doesn’t require any web browser plug-ins in order to see the camera’s video in a web browser. Also there is a firewall setting that allows you to set a list of specific IPs, IP Segment(s), or MAC Address(es) that you trust to connect to the camera.

It also surprisingly supports the creation of a SSL Certificate Request (as part of the certificate creation/request process) and supports the installation of a signed certificate for SSL/HTTPS traffic.

The camera also supports Audio detection as a recording trigger with adjustable sensitivity thresholds and an associated activation schedule. This feature can even be used by people who aren’t utilizing a microSD card for local storage (it can send you an email upon trigger).

Overall, this camera is quite a bit better than cameras I acquired just a year ago. The user interface is so much better. I am impressed with the camera’s ability to utilize diminishing amounts of light at dusk without switching to black and white mode.

The only thing I can think of that would have been nice to have is an adjustable camera aperture. But that is not an option you normally find at this price point.

CONS: 1. Brown box, like the kind you get at dollar tree when you buy some glassware. No picture or description. I thought I was buying the bullet. Got the turret instead. So we are immediately off to a bad start.

2. Salesperson on floor told me that it came with an adapter. Adapter is not included. Barrel plug does not fit the myriad of 12v adapters I have lying around. Product description page states POE injector required.

Does that mean an adapter is not included? Salesperson though it was included. Fooled me too. 3. Plastic parts feel cheap. Camera is not held solidly in it’s turret. I feel it can be easily pulled out or vandalized within seconds if it is mounted within reach.

4. Camera seems to be barely adjustable. Once mounted, you will be able to adjust this up or down only, and only by a few degrees. How are you supposed to fine tune it’s placement? 5. Manual is useless.

It only has pictures of how to setup their self explanatory software. Very blatant push to sell their $6 a month cloud subscription. Samsung and Apple have started a very negative trend where they don’t include chargers.

That is not a big deal for them because everyone has a 5V USB C charger and cable lying around. If you don’t, you can buy one at any store. The problem starts when mickey mouse companies with no brains, like this Amcrest or whatever they call themselves copy trendsetters without a second thought.

I mean, what kind of barrel jack is this? Where do I buy it from? Now I have to go back to Microcenter 30 minutes away, return this or buy a 12V adapter (if they have the right one) or return this. Bad for the environment and a total waste of time.

PROS: I don’t have any pros. I should have bought the Wyze Cam instead.

Just installed system yesterday, the cameras are tricky to mount you have to know exactly what your vertical angle is going to be or you have to unmount the 3 screws to change that angle, they do rotate 360 but only one axis for angle.

No wifi for the internet connection is also a downer you have to install system beside your router or run another long cable. Everything else looks to be exceptional, cameras give perfect wide views and clear.

Although there is a couple things to make it easier to install which were available on my other lorex system from 10 years ago that’s why I’m shocked these were obvious problems this time Everything works well right out of the box and quality is top notch.

I’ve built several of my own security systems using IP cameras and blue iris and still have one of those running but wanted to try this for a remote site and it has not disappointed me. I also found out the cameras work with blue iris if I ever need to move to that from the NVR.

But I like the software and easy to get to the advanced features but simple also if you just want a more plug and play system. Great night and day video, easy to search, and the grid layout for monitoring is also well laid out.

The only gripe I have is that only one person can be logged into the lorex mobile app at a time so this only allows one of us to get notifications and to check on things. Really a pain when I check and she gets kicked out and vice versa.

Was going to add a second doorbell camera (have one at the blue iris location) but because only one can get the notifications it made that useless. hopefully, they will fix that soon.

Had higher hopes but not good enough for me. Hooked up with ease, range a little less than my 7 year old system, poor picture quality and night vision stinks. There are better systems for the money.

System was what I expected for the price however the app that supports it is complete garbage. Constantly losing connection awful to navigate

It’s harder to install than it said, and we were lead to believe it came with 2 microphones and it didn’t. But other than than that it’s a good system.

It’s a good simple unit. It’s easy to install, and works very well. You get a lot for the price. I chose to put in my own solid state drive, and it had no problems. I use Android phones, and the program was easy to install and use.

I also use a computer, with Windows and you can download an app for that. It’s very easy to use.

Camera was quicky installed on the rear wall of my property with CAT5e providing POE to the camera, The on board SD Card means I can store footage directly on the camera without the need for a NVR, although I am considering offloading the footage to an FTPserver.

The camera angle provides a goo picture of my two cars, back door and most of the rest of the garden. Only downside is the cable coming from the camera. It splits into a water tight CAT5e plug, power plug and reset button.

You would need to drill a big hole to get this through the wall so I opted for a junction box to house this. It would have been nice to be able to remove this loom and connect just the Cat5e.

On Reolink’s site they talk about IP cameras with h. 265 compression from 720p-4k cameras and when looking at this particular camera nothing stood out that it was ONLY h. 264 which in turn will use much larger files than the newer codec compression.

Google reolink h265-ip-cameras-buying-guide for this info. I will say that support has been responding usually every 24 hours to each question although I have had to repeat information sometimes for them to respond.

It is a decent camera with audio recordings however if you were planning on purchasing something modern and using the latest compression you may want to look at Hikvision and dahua instead although the prices maybe a bit higher but you will get h.

This is a well made unit, but after a week,s use it refused to connect with my NVR network, no matter how I tried it could not be found, even though it was live on the APP. That lasted for a couple of days before that connection was also lost and now,even the APP cannot find the camera.

It is such a shame as the image shown when the unit is working is top rate and the camera itself is a well designed unit. SORRY.

Great value for money and loved the easy installation with the preinstalled 2TB drive. Has been in service for about a month now with no problems. Effortless install, easy to use both local and remote.

Not the most sophisticated interface but does the job. Only downside is the need for a dedicated display for install and maintenance.

Works really great with other Reolink camera and detects them instantly. Will be trying to connect 3 Reolink cameras through a POE switch to the NVR, see how that goes. Does not detect non POE Cameras or non Reo link Camera.

I purchased this NVR with a couple of Reolink RLC-410 cameras and overall happy with my purchase but there are a few items I wish Reolink could take into consideration. Pros – 8x PoE ports – Enough local storage – Cost effective – Very good quality video – Stable connection – Easy playback of recordings – Works good using the mobile app Cons – No Google Home integration for the NVR, even if the IP cameras plugged into the NVR do support it – I believe there are various complicated ways to achieve that via 3rd party devices which covert the video to a streaming that Google home can integrate with but doesn’t worth the effort for me – The Web interface is too basic, until recently it was using Flash, which is not supported on most browsers, it runs on unencrypted HTTP (not secure!!!), a very bad idea to access it via the internet using a web browser like suggested by Reolink articles (the mobile app is OK though) – No proper and secure way to access the NVR cameras from the Reolink cloud using a web browser, only the mobile app, there is an app for MacOS and Windows but it is as bad as the web interface Overall 4 starts, as main core functions work really well and the video quality is very good.

Its a good budget single wired system, easy to install, plug and play, all wired systems will require work for the running of cable(s), but this one POE. One fault I have is with the software that you down load.

There is zero instructions on how to use it, and I didn’t even down load the app. The picture quality is great and for the price I think its just fine.

Video quality is great, very easy to install and set up. I got it app on iPhone and app on iMac ,it works great. Real time view/playback works well. Recommend

This system is of the best quality all around I have seen in years. As a security professional, I highly recommend it.

Worked for 3 months, changed camera, cables, monitor and still got no video. Changed the DVR with another DVR and I got the video. Contacted the company rep with everything that happened and the final solution that the DVR was bad.

Have emailed back and forth a half dozen times and they just want me to repeat everything that I have done. Tired of getting the run around. Purchased a new DVR, different brand of course, will see how this works out.

Not worth the aggravation if it stops working.

My experiences thus far with Security Cameras are similar for how well they work, but night-and-day (pun intended) for how easy they are to set up and use. In fact, initial setup was so easy that I was surprised it was done so soon.

Plug the hub into power and ethernet, then fire up the app. It was that easy. Setting up the Security Lights was cumbersome. Setting up the Arlo Pro 3 cameras was brain-dead simple. I inserted the partially-charged batteries into the two cameras and after setting up the hub, the app asked if I wanted to also set up my 2 cameras.

Done. The app even gives you a good idea for how strong the video quality is based on wireless signal from the camera to the hub. Nice!.

Pros: Remote control from my phone. Very easy to use as I plugged in an ethernet cable instead of using wifi. Use it in my elderly parents house to see if they are okay. Quality pictures and sound. Was very surprised how good it was Cons: Sharing the app and features on your phone app.

I had difficulty in allowing my siblings to access the camera as the sharing invitation did not go through until 3 weeks later. Also because of the type of phone they had it was difficult for them to upload the app.

In the end it works fine.

Pros: Amazing amount of tech for such a small price. Just wished I had bought the white version to blend in. Overall very happy Cons: Less notifications on tracking mode. But maybe I haven’t set it correct.
