20 Best 6 Burner Gas Cooktop (2022 Updated)

I wouldn’t typically leave a review but it’s an issue I have to address. I’m a plumber in Massachusetts and a customer of mine bought this cook top to add to their kitchen. I get everything plumbed up and connected and start converting the stove for LP purposes.

I got 5/6 orifices changer out except for the front left burner. It will not come out for the life of me. I tried the 9/32 wrench I have along with many other tools to try and give myself more leverage.

It seems like it’s stuck in there with no means to remove it. I just purchased a bolt extractor to remove it so hopefully that finally does the trick but at this point I’m not sure.

Purchased this item to replace a cooktop in a manufactured home. I was looking for something inexpensive, but hoping to also get good quality. I loved the stainless steel, giving my kitchen an upgraded look, since I have recently began replacing appliances.

I like the burners. My handyman easily installed it. I havent used it too much yet, but I hope to get continued good results with it. Im happy with my purchase.

The cooktop is worth the money. It does look nice. The installation instructions could be written a little bit more clearly, but the common sense helps a lot with the installation. It would be great if the gas knobs would light when in use to make it even a better look.

It could be also a safety feature (i. e. if the gas is running and no flame it could alert the user about the issue).

We purchased matching appliances when we built our house almost 4 years ago. We weren’t satisfied with our gas cooktop, so we recently replaced it with this range top instead. We are thrilled with product! We love the burners.

We usually keep a griddle in the middle, but love we have an option to easily remove it. On our previous cooktop, we only had one burner that we liked using. All of these burners are functional and adjustable.

After 19 years, my original high end 36″ 6 burner cook top started giving me safety issues, so it was time for a replacement. For a couple of months, I surfed the internet to find a replacement. I started looking at other high end units, but I saw the Kucht 36″ burner at a reasonable price.

not to mention the excellent reviews. I pulled the trigger and ordered it. My unit arrived on Jan 2, 2020. The construction of the Kucht appeared to at least matched other high end units, but exceeds in other aspects.

Installation was a breeze, since very little modifications needed to be done to my granite. I wished that I order this unit years ago. My wife and I are happy campers now. First night, I cooked a 4 course dinner.

Any spills were clean easily and quickly with the sealed burners. I just ordered the wok ring, so looking forward to woking some of my Asian favorites. I am very impressed with heat from the 18K BTU burner for searing steaks as well as the smaller 6K BTU burner for those delicate sauces.

I hope to use this unit well beyond 19 years.

We purchased this a replacement for our old gas stove during our kitchen remodel and I am really pleased with this product. The unit offers a lot of versatility for us since we converted from a regular kitchen range product to a counter mounted rangetop.

The various burner outputs and grate configurations make cooking multiple items simultaneously a synch, its a lot of fun to cook on.

How I came to selecting this Company and Appliance package is kind of relevant. Our previous Range by a well known manufacturer was considerably more expensive, about the same size and had fancy display.

Great while it lasted. Unfortunately, the microprocessor chip on the controlee panel went bad. Not covered by warranty, replacement board not available, sent off for repair to two different repair facilities both returned unable to acquire the “microprocessor chip”.

To the point now. I do not miss any of the fancy features of previous Ranges, I actually very much appreciate the simplicity of this product. This is by far the best cooking/working Range we have ever had.

Trying to think of an honest negative comment to be objective but drawing a blank, this is a great product.

It is nice to finally have a large enough, well made refrigerator. The one that was in our house when we moved in was a piece of junk. We really appreciate this one. It has much more room, is quieter and is built very well.

Should last us many years. The adjustable shelves sit in grooves that make them very strong, we have put them to the test and they hold plenty of weight. You won’t regret your purchase if you are thinking of buying this refrigerator.

Also very pleased with the range, getting so many comments from my friends and family on how good it looks.

I absolutely love my new ZLINE appliances. I bought this appliance package from Premium Home Source about 4 months ago and waited until I got a chance to use them before writing my review. They look beautiful; clean lines, and they all match beautifully.

This is an incredible cooktop – wow!!! We remodeled our kitchen and were looking to go with something that can tolerate volume of dishes with increased sensitivity on temperature ranges and sizes – and boy did we get it with this cooktop.

Stylish and impeccably designed. We couldn’t be happier and anticipate many, many years of joy out of this piece in our kitchen.

This amazing rangetop was in our new home and it is the most professional and luxurious cooking experience of any we have had. Having 6 burners is great and we enjoy the wok option. It is also easy to clean any spills; looks like new after cleaning.

I bought this with my new construction home. It works great and the griddle feature is fantastic. The only issue I have is that the knobs can easily be bumped and turned on, especially when having a party/event.

But thats a minor thing.

I can’t believe we waited this long to upgrade our cook-top. The controls are so awesome for how low and high it goes. I always thought it was my pan and utensil that was the week link. I am here to say it was the cooktop.

The high heat and low are the best things that has happened to my kitchen.

I love to cook, and over 40 years I’ve had to purchase cooktops many times, for various reasons. This is by far the finest I’ve used, although it is not the most expensive! The burner outputs are precise, responsive, powerful.

The controls are easy to use, and the lighted knobs are great. The dual-level simmer/sear burners (two of them on this model) are fabulous: Huge range of heats are possible. This is the finest, and the best value cooktop on the market, in my opinion.

One Should be able to repair a burner that began failing after two years. Decor does not make the part that is on the most expensive Decor stovetop. Two expensive attempts at repair resulted in need to replace stovetop with 4 working burners.

Now an expensive counter and cabinets must also be replaced to fit new stovetop.

Thor 36” Rangetop was one of two affordable options for our newly remodeled kitchen. (A huge upgrade from our 27” GE drop-in stove from 1962!) PROS: It’s BEAUTIFUL! We’ve had several guests comment on it.

There is plenty of room for two people to stand in front and cook at the same time. A huge plus for cooperative, or complimentary cooking! The center front burner is large, but has a super-low simmer setting, which we’ve found very useful.

The knob lights up when it’s burner is in use; a nice safety feature. (This was the deciding factor between Thor and the second option. ) Easy to clean up spills and boil overs. CONS: All three small burners are located in the back row.

The highest BTU burners are all in the front, which isn’t very practical. It would be more convenient to have one low powered burner in front. It feels awkward to only have a back burner to match the small pot size when cooking rice or mac and cheese, etc.

, especially when it’s the only thing on the stove. The surface of the grates seem high above the burners, and despite a high BTU, it seems that it takes as long as my old stove to boil a big pot of water.

It’s the first gas stove I’ve owned so maybe it’s just a perception. It gives off a lot(!) of heat, really warming the kitchen, especially in summer months. It isn’t compatible with a stovetop wok!!! A huge disappointment to learn that after installation, and I was reading the manual.

I would definitely recommend it to a friend with just a couple of reservations: It’s not for Wok cooking, and smaller burners all at the back.

I had purchased a different “Brand X” range top and thankfully we realized was leaking gas. Our gas company verified the leak, so we ordered a replacement. As the delivery time stretched out I began to study reviews again and realized that this THOR Rangetop is a much better option for me! We have an autistic grandson who loves to turn knobs.

The Thor range top knobs have to be pushed in to turn on, then rotate. This isn’t in his skill set. What an incredible safety feature! PLUS, it re-ignites if the flame goes out! These 2 features are lifesavers! On top of the incredible precision that the burners have from a high to a true low flame! I’m SOOO IMPRESSED with my THOR RANGETOP!! This is DEFINITELY the “BEST OF THE BEST” of all the rangetops!! Thank you for all these wonderful features!!.

My 30″ Gas Cooktop was ordered from the Sears store and the sales staff made sure that this would fit in the opening in the granite countertop-without having to cut anything. The countertop arrived as expected and it took the two installers about 15 minutes to remove the prior Whirlpool 30″ cooktop.

This new one has two “power burners” that seem to accelerate boiling and general cooking. This will probably be the last gas appliance we own, so we are careful to use it judiciously. Since installation, the grates have developed a bit of a shiny “patina” that cannot be removed, but is not unexpected.

We expect this cooktop to last for at least 15 years.

I love these wild hearts they are so vibrant! I have been ordering LS for almost 2 years and they are our favorite. I started out with a different well known brand and they changed their fabric so we searched for a new brand.

In searching we found LS and we absolutely love the fabric, softness, coloring, and quality! We live in a vacation spot and all the kids that come to visit now get LS pajamas. Thanks for such softness!.

I recently had this installed with a kitchen cabinet refacing job. Some cooks may like the different BTU’s burners, but I prefer the older models with just one type on all four burners. In one phrase, “you can’t teach an old lady how to cook differently”! After all, why burn your food on a high temperature.

Also this model would do best, on a center island, since it’s burners are “off-centered” to the width of the unit. When the cooktop is installed under a range hood and upper cabinet, the cooktop appears not to be centered on the counter.

For this reason, I do not like the cooktop. Knobs are removable, but not necessary to take off , to clean the cooktop. Design is perfect for larger pots and fry pans and I like the large 2-pc grates.

Easy to turn on/off with the knobs on the side, as you won’t get burned with the location. Some cooktops have recessed, center front controls, making it difficult to adjust the burner, when 3-4 burners are all on.

Best way to select the right model for you, is to ask the associate for a fry pan and pots so you can place them on the cooktop in the store and “feel” the placement of the knobs yourself. just as if you were cooking at home.

I had a lot of concerns about the extra low simmer, and it isn’t true that all burners can achieve it. the spiral burner no way. and each of the other 3 btu output burners have widely different low out levels.

the simmer on the 2 lower output burners does a good job, the 2 high output burners are only ok but only for a very large pot, and the dual ring is either the HIGHEST OUTPUT or on low the LOWEST output – so I find I’m moving pots around.

The spiral ‘wok’ burner works well with a wok or other pots and does not have low simmer. Overall, this is a terrific cooktop with lots of flexibility and features and is a good match with my other Cafe appliances.

I have only used this daily for a month. The appliance is wonderful, it has 4 different types of burners (2x medium, 2 large, 1 spiral burner, 1 double burner). We love utilizing our double burner! It works great for woks and sautéed food.

All the burners are fast and elegantly designed. Our only issue is that there is no small grate to put our Moka Pot! We love our coffee and we love our moka pot but we aren’t able to make it over this gas range.

I would still recommend getting this – unless you use a moka pot.

This is a quality cooktop, but at a reasonable price. The six burners are all great and varied for different applications and they are powerful. The construction is solid, the knobs have a smooth feel, the grates are appropriately heavy.

The only flaw, which kept me from giving it 5 stars is that the griddle is not detachable for cleaning in the sink (which it should be) which makes it harder to keep clean.

I bought a KitchenAid 36″ 6 Burner Commercial Style Gas Range top two years ago when I was renovating my kitchen. The reason I bought all KitchenAid products is that they seem to have good product reviews and mainly because they stood by their products.

Unfortunately, not even a year after I purchased the range top, the wok rings on the front two grates were cracked. I called KitchenAid about this problem and told them I followed all their maintenance instructions and I am not abusive but overly careful with my appliance and could not understand why they cracked.

They could not give me an answer and told me that I had to pay approximately $45. 00 to buy the whole grate, a total of about $110 for two grates. I told them I did not think I should be paying for this and that this was certainly a defect in the product.

I also stated that I had no problem with the grate but only with the wok rings. They said I had to purchase the whole item. After much debate they did replace the product cost free. I thought the problem was over.

Unfortunately, about 10 months later, the new rings cracked again. KitchenAid said that I would be responsible for replacing these grates. Again, they could not tell me what I could do to prevent this from happening.

They told me that there were no other complains that address this issue. After reading the reviews I found that this was not so. My feeling is still that it there is a defect in the product. I hope I will not have to do replace these grates every year.

The other concerning issue is that the burners go on if you brush against them. KitchenAid customer service says that you need to lean into then in order for the burner to go on. I have not found that to be so many times.

Lightly brushing against them can cause the burners to go on. This is a major issue especially if you have small children. This is very dangerous because the gas turns on and you may not be aware of it until it is too late.

I asked if they sold safety guards for this and they said no. I expect that if you pay $2,700. 00 for a high-end range top it would be top notch and that any imperfections would be addressed. The moral of the story is that I have this problem that I will need to address but if you are considering purchasing this product be aware of the issues.

KitchenAid again claims they stand by their products but I find this not to be so.

Reviews seem to typically get written after less than a month. We purchased our rangetop over three years ago. We cook a lot at home. It is a five star product with the only caveat that I actually think it is too powerful.

If it were not for the smaller burners I would never even come close to using high on any burner. Plus the larger burners are really only useable with a 12″ or larger diamter pan or pot because the flame pattern is so massive on high.

The grates are easy to clean and the wiping out around the burners is a no brainer. Make sure you match it with a greater than 400 cfm hood since this thing can quickly produce a lot of “aromatics” if you are cooking on three or more burners.

Grates are smooth to slide pots over. very commercial (I use to own restaurants). Overall, a better product than our Kitchenaid Double wall oven which in this time frame already has “keyboard” issues intermittently.

But that is for another review. It may not look as cool as say a Dacor or Wolf but this is a beast of a cooktop.

Buyer beware. I received the unit with the purchase of a new house. One of the burners was malfunctioning. When the burner was turned low and the other burners were turned on high, the burner set to low would go out.

The unit would then reattempt to reignite, but would not come back on. The company KitchenAid sent out to repair the unit damaged even further to a point it would night light at all. After several months of not having the cooktop functioning (lies about delayed parts) I finally got KitchenAid to approve getting a different company out to start the repair process all over again.

Furthermore, my plea to have the unit completely replaced because I smelled gas when the unit was not on was rejected because “gas leaking into the house is not a safety issue”. Darlene was the Kitchenaid representative who told miss.

I purchased this Jenn Air Cooktop in January 2022 & had it installed in July 2022. It has worked great ever since! Cleanup is simple & the cook dials are 100 percent stainless steel –so no plastic that can melt & leave the dials useless! I would definately purchase again:).

My new oven cooks so beautifully! Temperature controls are accurate , and I can choose precisely what food is being cooked, so items are cooked to perfection. The control display is fun, being able to choose different pictures for the season.

I do not like the rotary controls however. They make choosing a given setting cumbersome and time consuming. The convection microwave has many choices for cooking, but the pull down door makes it difficult to access food to check for doneness, or for cleaning up.

Again, the rotary dial feature is time consuming.

My previous experience with an electric JennAir Stove/Cooktop led me to purchase this gas cooktop. Am I glad I did! Self Installation was easy, and performance exceeds the Thermador Cooktop that I replaced.

From precise simmer control that won’t scald to quick water boiling for pasta, this cooktop allows for extreme versatility. Looking forward to purchasing other JennAir appliances as I upgrade my kitchen!.

I am enjoying my new 6 burner rangetop. The BTUs are a lot higher than my almost 20 year old Monogram cooktop that it replaced. The food cooks more evenly, especially on the two highest power front burners with the double gas ring.

The lowest setting to simmer keeps sauces warm without drying them out while I finish making the rest of our meal. This was a big step up in cooking from my old cooktop, and works as described in the GE write ups with a great range of cooking temperatures from very high to very low.

I love my new 36” gas range top. I had a monogram range before at my old house which I loved it so much. Good quality and features. I really like their reversible grates that we can just flip them when we need to use a wok.

It’s brilliant! My question is can we change the color of the accent lights? I saw in the video clip that the color of the lights can be changed but I couldn’t find how.

The stove looks great and the feature with light when the stove is on is very functional. But the brass finish turns black right after first use and there isn’t any cleaning options to bring it shiny.

Also, within 3 months we started seeing one of the burners to do the click sound and see sparks as though it tries to ignite even when the stove is turned off. We need to check with the service team but didn’t expect this for a $4k premium stove.

reno time for the kitchen, I picked this, the wife wanted to go a different way. Had it in a year now and she loves it. turns out i was right. I know some like pros and cons so, here you go. Pros- heats things fast and the flat surface is great, the simmer burner is cute but i rarely use it because the big ones have the two settings and imo go lower.

the wok rings are really helpful and it is easy to clean. Now, the cons – one of the rubber feet on the grates came off almost instantly and doesnt go back on, but it hasnt been an issue, and one of the wok rings has cracked.

I would like to replace that, but again its not a big deal I’ve just moved it off my favorite burner. I did look at the Wolf, but thats a lot of money for red knobs.

Pros: 2 years warranty, luckily one of the knobs broke before the warranty finished. Cons: One of the knobs stopped work after 1 and a half years’ use. The burner turns off by itself especially the fire is turned to minimum even though the engineer replaced the knob.

At the beginning, we thought it could be because it wasn’t cleaned enough, but after cleaning it a few times, it still happens till now. Then the warranty finished, my husband wasn’t bothered to call the engineer back.

For us it was a choice between this Miele and the equivalent Bosch 5-ring gas hob. I didn’t like the look of Siemens or Neff as much. I fretted for days on the pros and cons of splurging on top-of-the-range appliances to cook with, especially as our Smeg had been perfectly reliable.

A Bosch hob/oven would have been way cheaper and would have matched our Bosch extractor fan and Bosch washing machine. But we went with Miele as, although £300 more than the Bosch, it didn’t seem that much of an extravagance in the grand scheme of things (we were doing up the whole house).

I have two small children and love to cook so I knew it would get plenty of use. The design went perfectly with our new kitchen. Miele has an excellent reputation and is considered as reliable as it gets.

Plus, if we *hadn’t* bought our Miele hob and oven, we would forever have wondered what our kitchen might have been like if we’d pushed the boat out. And since you don’t buy a new hob every day, we took a punt.

Justification over! Observations: (1) The overall width of the hob is a good couple of centimetres wider than the Bosch and others – yet the gas rings are just as close together as other models, if not closer – which you could argue defeats the point of having a wider hob (2) There is a kind of pointless margin of metal left and right – being really picky I might have preferred an equal, smaller margin all the way round (left, top and right of the rings) and further spaced the rings! (3) The grid over the rings has a useful non-slide non-squeak coating so pans feel sturdy and don’t make an awful noise if you’re sliding them across (4) As easy to clean as any other brand – no especial dis/advantages with going Miele here (5) Turning the gas knobs slowly it seems to go from full flame to minimum flame with very little turning – medium flame is hard to achieve! Could be an installation problem though? I have deducted a star for this.

Overall very happy, no regrets!.

I purchased this as I wanted a gas hob with a glass surface rather than s/steel. It also matches my Miele oven and hood. Initially had issues igniting the burners. You had to hold the knob down whilst the igniters were clicking for a long time and even then they would go out.

This went on for days. Then this issue just went away, though I still have to hold down for quite a few seconds to keep the burners lit. However they do now work reliably. Otherwise very pleased. It is easy to clean and solidly made.

The only very slight niggle is that the large burner is quite close to the edge of the whole unit but the spacing between burners is generous. Overall happy but, like all Miele products, quite pricey.

We purchased this to replace its predecessor, which we loved. Way overpriced! Constantly having to adjust the burners to start. The gold caps will turn black after a week, and the only way to clean them is tons of elbow grease and cleanser.

We actually thought about using a sander, as it is so difficult to clean, and they stain badly. This cooktop would be great in a wok style restaurant. For home use, 80% of the time, you need to use the back burners, which have a far reach, otherwise the three front burners are way too big for a normal pot or pan.

The flames get around the pan due to the wide circumference. What was Viking thinking with this very expensive cooktop.

Love the look of this cooktop. I haven’t used it yet because I’m still waiting for Best Buy to deliver the rest of my appliances so my contractor can finish my kitchen, but the knobs turn on nicely. The LEDs stay lit at the knobs, which adds a luxurious touch to any kitchen.

Absolutely LOVE our Thermador gas stove top! We replaced our Wolf electric stove top with this and couldn’t be happier. Wonderful black ceramic bottom makes it easy to clean and you don’t get all those ugly stains like a lot of gas stoves with stainless bottoms.

It is great to have 3 high btu burners and 3 lower btu burners that are adjustable for your cooking needs. The whole system is sturdy and made of high quality parts. Beautiful star pattern sealed burners and heavy duty cast iron continuous grates make cooking easy and sliding pans a breeze!.

Ordered in June 2021 October Received delivery. First attempt installation crew unable to install. December Second attempt different installation crew successfully installs new cooktop. When tested found defective with only 4 of 6 burners working with the assistance of a bbq lighter.

Waiting for replacement.

Beautifully built and gorgeous to see. Six powerful burners that heat evenly and cook food quickly. Able to adjust flame from super low to super high. Enough room between burners to use large pots and pans without them banging into one another.

What a fantastic product. I previously had a glass hob that shattered into pieces, therefore I selected a stainless steel one. This one has thick stainless steel, which means it will not warp under stress.

The burners burn with precision. The whole hob is recessed so that if liquid spills, it will not run over all the worktop, but will collect in the hob for easy cleaning after. 5 burners make cooking enjoyable.

Smeg means quality and after ordering this hob, I agree to that. Wonderful replacement for my old unit.

Pros: Gas output is amazing, having to turn down heat as power leads to cooking much faster. Cleaning comes with ease, simple to clean up crumbs or spillsWarning light to emphasise area around hob may still be hot after use.

Cons: If any, they would be trivial and not worth mentioning.
