HP Envy Inspire 7955e Wireless Color All-In-One Printer. I received this product as a sample to do this review & that doesn’t mean I’m going to sugar coat anything because of that reason. I want everyone who reads this review understand that I will be blatantly honest with this printer.

The printer is touch screen so that’s a upgrade to me instead of that classic LED Buttons, It weights around 18-20 lbs & it’s well protected from the factory with all sorts of Styrofoam cushions along with protected screen tapes on delicate areas on the screen, system trays, scanner & ink area.

It comes with the 2 inks of BLACK & COLOR so no worries there. Installing the ink is easy, This is a easy to set up printer that I would recommend using your mobile device to activate it 1st then you can smoothly configuration your options on your PC/MAC.

It takes a while to print from mobile devices but it works properly since you can basically print from anywhere around your home wirelessly, the system tray can be a bit tricky when you’re adjusting papers to it so make sure you always align your tray in order or else it would give you a little blue light on the side that tells you to fix it.

Printing Pictures come out in excellent format as if you’re printing them from somewhere like Walgreens so that’s a plus. You can adjust the tray to print out long paper sheets that usually wouldn’t fit in most printers.

It’s not noisy & it scans, copies & prints everything quick from your PC/MAC. It connects to 2. 4/5GHZ on your internet WIFI-ROUTER to get the best connectivity rate in your home. It does have a slight wi-fi drop on the 2.

4GHZ so I would recommend connecting to the 5GHZ. It’s a “OKAY” printer but the price tag it’s not worth it as the design seems a bit “dated” with that Box look & if you’re looking for a speedy printer then I suggest looking elsewhere.

Received the HP Envy Inspire 7955e Wireless All-In-One Printer a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. Upon opening this package, I noticed that HP took extra care with packing this printer up, by placing a box within a box to ensure it arrived safely and not all banged up.

After removing all of the plastic and cardboard, setup was a breeze. Simply plug up the printer and download the HP Smart app from the App Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Once downloaded, it took no time for the app to discover the printer and asked me if I wanted to add it to my Wi-Fi network. After that, the app pretty much guide you through the rest of the setup process which includes adding the ink cartridges and paper.

During the setup process, I’m not sure what happened but I did have to turn the printer off and back on and close out the app completely are restart it. Seemed as though there was a hang-up on the setup process somewhere, but once rebooted everything kicked into gear and the setup process finished within 30 seconds.

After aligning the printer heads and the initial test pages I started printing off some pictures from my iPhone. The pictures were crisp and clear. Color lines did not bleed like I’ve noticed with other printers that I’ve tested in the past; however colors did not appeared somewhat dull in some photos.

Everything we copied and/or scanned over the last week has worked flawlessly without any issues thus far. HP also included some photo paper as well in the package. This printer is a nice size and doesn’t take up a lot of space on a desk or top of a small file cabinet.

And this sandstone color is a nice change as well. HP really pushes the HP+ and Instant ink program through the app and has a tendency to bombard your email to signup. Although this printer is decent at printing photos, it may be better suited for documents and such.

You can print documents/photos directly from your phone via the app or AirPrint if you have an iPhone. You can also download and install the HP software to your computer and print from there as well.

Pros: Great little portable printer, easy to use and set-up. I wondered if I would get enough use out of it as I bought it for use in the campervan when touring. However, it’s proved to be exceptional useful, printing boarding passes, proof of covid vaccination amongst so many other things.

Cons: Whilst the wireless internet connection is easy to set up, I did find it occasionally struggling to log-on despite a healthy signal. Not sure why but shutting down seem to take ages as it was obviously still trying to connect.

However, booting up on the second occasion always solved this issue. No complaints, this is a good little printer.

Fantastic printer, if not for the overpriced HP ink cartridges. Needed a compact printer for the house and this was probably the only one I could find. Turns out, not only is it compact, but it’s battery powered too! Mind you, you wont be getting a ton of prints out of this thing per charge, but it’s fantastic for those rare moments in today’s day and age when you need to quickly print something.

Don’t expect this to be a fantastic photo printer or anything like that, but it’s a great for anyone who wants a printer in the house and doesn’t want it taking up half your desk. As I mentioned, only downside is the overpriced HP ink cartridges for this printer (-1 star).

do yourself a favor and find a third party solution.

I found the wifi difficult to install at an RV Park and had to ask an HP tech to do it. It took him quite awhile. However the next day I was unable to access the wifi because the code had to be entered each day.

I was very frustrated that HP no longer includes a cord which would allow me to connect directly to the computer. I had to drive to Home Depot and buy one. Even then it took awhile to figure out how to make it function.

The instructions are practically non-existent. My older HP mobile computer was far easier to access and use. Once I spent a lot of time getting it together the printing was fine.

Very easy to install to my Wi-Fi. My iPhone and iPad automatically recognized it when I printed from them. You can even scan from your phone directly to the printer no matter where you are. If you ever printed photos in a printer that doesn’t have a dedicated tray for photo papers, you know that it can be frustrating and it is prone to errors, making you waste time and money.

Fortunately, this HP Envy Inspire comes with a tray exclusive for photos that actually works and does so very well. Equally important, the pictures look professional, which is something really important to me because I take a lot of photos and I expect the best ones to look great on paper.

Text is excellent like all modern HP printers and the speed is very good for most home offices although it could be considered slow if you print a lot of work documents. What I dislike is the fact that it uses a tri-color cartridge, which is a waste of ink in my opinion.

You run out of magenta, for instance, and you have to buy another cartridge, wasting the remaining yellow and blue inks. Here are the Pros: • Easy menu on an LCD color screen • Dedicated photo tray with two-sided capabilities • Supports up to Wi-Fi generation 5 • Easy connection to mobile devices such as phones and tablets • Excellent photo and print quality • Great app features such as remote scan and print • Duplex printing, a must for many people and great to save paper.

• 6 months of Instant Ink included, which is sent to you automatically when the printer senses your running of ink And the Cons: • Only works with Original HP ink. It guarantees quality but HP ink is not cheap • Instant Ink Subscription is great and started cheap, but they just increased their price depending on your type of subscription.

It is convenient but it also optional, so you can decide whether this is a con or pro. • Tri-color ink cartridge. I prefer individual color cartdriges. • Doesn’t support the newest Wi-Fi generations 6 and 6e.

Not many homes have that yet, but it is the future of newer Wi-Fi routers. You can’t go wrong with an HP printer, and this one is no exception. Despite my complaints about their tri-color cartridge and Instant Ink subscription, which is somewhat pricey but very convenient, especially if you print a lot, its print quality is unmatched.

With this printer, my expectation was not that it could produce perfect, professional quality photo prints at its price point. I was looking at this as something my family could use to make a quick print from a phone or tablet on the go.

That’s pretty much exactly how this printer is being marketed. I have had a similar printer for several years, and lately it has started to deteriorate, but I had a baseline for comparison from when it was new.

In Terms of design, I personally like the simple, streamline, utilitarian build that doesn’t take up excess space and doesn’t have excessive “styling”. The design of the paper trays and the out-feed are well thought out.

Selecting the correct place to put various stock sizes is very easy. The out-feed support is a very simple piece that slides out easily, not at all like the complicated, clunky, noisy and now broken mechanical out-feed that was on my old printer.

Overall, though made of plastics, the printer feels solid, and there don’t appear to be unnecessary bits and pieces that can break off, dislodge or otherwise become problems. When setting up the printer I was prompted to install a mobile app, and a QR code was provided that linked my phone to the app.

After installing the app, basic setup of the printer was extremely simple, and I ran the printer through some calibration and test prints. While not silent this printer is much quieter, and also much quicker to start prints than my previous printer.

The machine doesn’t shake rattle and roll, just a couple of noises as the paper is picked up then there is just a nice smooth finish. The app on the phone seems to be pretty handy, especially considering the limited number of options that the mobile device has natively for printing.

There was a bit of learning curve to navigating some of the options to get exactly what I wanted, in particular I found changing sizes to be difficult. After running through several prints on my phone, I decided to try out printing from my windows laptop.

Normally, when I print from the laptop I simply use the built-in print utility and everything works fine. I have done this with a variety of printers. The laptop saw the printer on my network and I figured I was all good to go.

This is the first printer that I have had that forced me to download the brand specific print application so that I could change certain preferences, and unlike the phone, I found the printing process very convoluted on the laptop.

For example, when I tried to print a photo from the laptop at the highest output resolution, it would continually throw back to a lower quality when I selected the exact photo stock paper that was recommended.

This was a bit frustrating and I had to play a bit of guessing game to find which combination of paper would work for the output I wanted. In terms of print quality, I cannot complain about the sharpness of the prints as all of the high-resolution images that I printed from both my phone and laptop looked nice and crisp.

I was however disappointed with the color reproduction. This printer just seems to struggle with skin tones. Everything seems too red and over-saturated. I ran the calibration utility, and then I scanned an older photo that I had using the printer’s built in scanner.

The scan to laptop utility worked very well and the image that I saw on the laptop was a very accurate, very true to color and tone copy of the photo. When I printed it out, the skin tones were simply too red.

This seems like a very big flaw for a printed that will primarily be used to produce pictures of family and most likely people more than anything else. The printer came with a free 6-month subscription to the HP ink delivery service.

I have not had the printer long enough to say whether this service will be worth paying for later. I will say that the ink tanks on this printer are combined 3 color in one cartridge tanks, meaning that when you are out of cyan, you have to swap the whole tank.

This is something that I cam not fond of. Considering the small size of the tanks I feel like I will be blowing through ink cartridges quite quickly, though the documentation for the ink delivery program states that the tanks you will received through that service have more prints in them than the XL tanks you can purchase at retail stores.

Overall, I feel like this printer is just ok. It has some solid design and some nice capabilities (the wireless scanning is my favorite feature so far!). On the downside, it’s difficulty printing skin tones and some of the difficulty I had in the Windows environment are pretty big issues, especially considering the price point is higher than some similar printers I have owned or encountered.

It works great! But it has some flaws, for example, it won’t allow me to insert “used on one side already paper. ” In other words, it won’t allow me to insert perfectly used paper with one side so I can “recycle” papers that I don’t need, but they have a blank side.

The printer recognizes the paper as “wrong size” and also you can’t press the PHOTO button and copy a 4X6 photo onto plain paper (It requires you to use 4×6 photo paper and won’t work) (you have to press the DOCUMENT button), and also the MANUAL that came with it isn’t even a Manual! It’s just a sheet to tell you how to connect it to your system and doesn’t tell you how to use it or about all the little symbols inside, or how to use the “envelope” tray and how to insert the envelopes.

And it JAMMED because I put too much paper inside because the little symbols are confusing and I had to call Tech Support the FIRST DAY to help me UNJAM the paper! Also, my previously owned HP printer I had for 18 years had slots for several different size camera cards, whereas this one has none, but only a flashdrive, but I’m not even sure that’s what that is for, because the manual doesn’t have directions.

Wait. there is NO MANUAL. I guess I’ll have to go onto YouTube to watch videos, which is sad, because I’d rather look at the manual while using it. Although it’s more “high tech” it’s not compatible with my older computer (even though my old computer recognizes it), whereas my old computer has several programs on it that aren’t conducive to my new computer, so now all the cool stuff in my old computer, such as LABELS, Minutes and other important documents, I can’t print them from this new printer.

Maybe they were trying to save paper when they decided not to include a manual, Other than all that, it prints really well!! (I seriously doubt it will last 18 years like my previous HP).

I’ve had this printer for a year now, and it works fine for everyday printing in black, and for color printing when the tone or depth of color is not critical. However, when printing an image of people and faces where skin tone must look at least half-way natural, the HP 6978 in inconsistent when printing multiples of the same image.

The problem with the 6978 is that, while it prints correctly in the first 10-20 prints in a run (such as our Holiday letter photo page), but the subsequent identical source images appear redder in the prints as the run goes on.

Especially so when replacing genuine HP toner cartridges mid-batch. I print 5 prints at a time so I can check them before printing the next 5 of the same image. To get the 90 copies I need, I have to adjust the image in PhotoShop curves to less red, even though it looked fine on the monitor; this year it took me through 7 adjusted.

TIFF draft images to get through the 90 prints! If I try printing an earlier draft (which I’d not had to tweak to less red at first) it now prints with the faces very darkly red,… nothing like the image on the monitor.

Basically, the HP 6978 does not print the colors consistently when printing multiples of the same image. I’d had similar problems with two earlier HP InkJet models in previous years, which has wasted many pages of good, presentation paper and a lot of color toner on the many rejects! I suppose replacing the HP 6978 with a printer costing well more than $200 might yield more consistent fidelity, though I think it’s time for me to buy a brand other than HP.

it is my opinion based on the last four printers I’ve owned, all printers are designed to stop working after only three years, regardless of brand. I bought this model of printer 3 years and two months ago.

And after getting an error message about a nonexistent paper jam, it just stopped working. So, instead of wasting my time learning how to use a new model, I opted to buy the same printer again, and I had some extra ink cartridges left.

It’s a work horse for the three or so years you’ll get out of it. It does everything you need, including producing great scans through a doc feeder. The only cons other than longevity are that it doesn’t accept thick Kraft paper and I think it uses all the ink colors when printing black only.

So you go through ink pretty fast. Additionally, lots of bills get stuck in doc feeder if they have perforated remittance slips. And it refuses to copy any document that’s shorter than 8×11 through the doc feeder.

But none of its shortcomings kept me from buying it again. Word of advice, when setting it up, make sure you go to the correct url provided. chrome will show the top result as a driver installer website and it asks you to pay for a subscription after you enter all kinds of info.

You do not need to pay if you go to the correct website. Installation is otherwise super easy.

I wanted to like this — I still WANT to like it. It’s sleek, small, purportedly super savvy — but I literally just cannot get it to print for the life of me. Everytime I try to print something I spend half of the time regretting everything and the other trying to rationalize about sunk costs and such, until I finally just decide ‘forget it’ and I’ll read onscreen whatever I was hoping to expedite review of by printing it out.

In short: it is almost less than worthless, for the time and energy I have to spend to get to the point where I give up. In fairness, this happens only approx 80% of the time I try to use it — so occasionally it surprises me.

And in actual fairness, I’ve never figured out what the problem is – no matter how much or little I’ve tried — and when I need it, I really need it and so typically don’t have time to troubleshoot (tried that too – the AI process is worthless).

So in all I strongly regret. Probably not having one at all would be far better.

Style points are off the chart! This is the perfect printer for someone who just needs to print things every now and then for everyday family type needs. I followed the steps to set it up and didn’t have any problems, even when setting up on my MacBook Air.

I didn’t love that you have to download an app to get it set up to a computer, but wasn’t the end of the world, and I’ve already printed from my phone a few times so ended up being great in the end. I haven’t had any problems to date with it not connecting after it’s been closed up for a while.

I tried printing some photos on the included paper and they aren’t bad for the level of printer. I wish some sort of pull-out catch tray was included in the design, I keep mine closed up until I need to print something, and have to make sure I’m there to catch the papers as I keep it on a cabinet that is only 12” deep.

Would have to be kept on a larger surface to not have to deal with papers falling. Also, some sort of space to keep paper when not in use would be a nice inclusion in the design. Right now I keep a small stack on top of the printer under the fabric cover.

The charcoal cover is definitely a dark blue/navy. More cover options would be nice. Very happy with this purchase!!!.

Pros: Super sleek & does not clutter an area. I was worried about the connectivity and set up from reading others reviews but I had none of this. It couldn’t be simpler to use. So far it has only been connected to Apple products (Mac, iPhone) but these have worked very well.

It appears as long as you are connected to the same WiFi network as the printer anyone can print. The lights and tones were a nice surprise that I wasn’t expecting but they make the use feel fun and successful every time it has been used.

Cons: The extra price over the standard Tango which has no cloth cover is ridiculous. If you can find the option, don’t buy with a cloth cover, the extra money is not worth it or necessary. I only bought as there was no other option.

I also had a very nice salesman who recommended that I not buy the tango x due to the fact that I’m not a creative or photographer with my job. This is a load of nonsense and I actually do recommend this printer.

It was the one I wanted originally and he didn’t dissuade me from getting it.

IšverstiShow in original languageIf you plan only to print–and do little else–this is a very competent device. Speed and clarity of text printing is good (I haven’t printed pictures, so I can’t evaluate that).

And setup was pretty straightforward for printing. BUT–this is a multi-function device, and you’ve paid for a multi-function device, so all of the functions should work equally as well. They do not.

1. Copying: copies of text are quite good. However, it is literally decades since I’ve had a printer that produces copies in reverse order. If you frequently want to put more than 2-3 pages into the document feeder, you’ll find it really irritating to re-sort and put the copies in order before stapling–and really annoying if you forget to do so before stapling.

Also, I don’t know the last time I’ve had a printer at home or at work that requires the pages to be placed face down rather than up. I guess eventually I’ll get used to this but in the meantime (two months in), I keep messing up from force of long habit.

2. Fax: Yes it faxes, but there’s no automatic way to know that it’s done so! No message on the screen that the fax has been sent successfully, no automatic printing of a fax report, AND no way to set the machine to do these things.

Each time you’ve tried to fax, you’ll need to hit several buttons to reach the print fax-report button. Which means that you have to go through that process each time just to find out that someone’s fax didn’t pick up, or that their line was out of order or.

That’s absurd. This is bad enough that I’m actually thinking of getting rid of the machine and buying an HP again. 3. Scan: I found it very tricky to find the setup that would allow me to use the machine’s touchpad to initiate scans.

And no matter what, it refuses to produce my scans as PDFs, only as JPGs that I then have to convert to PDF. Scan to OCR? Forget it. That’s after following the instructions in the manual, searching the Brother site for further instructions and following them to a T.

Nothing doing. All in all–I started out writing this review having given the machine 3 stars, but as I wrote, I realized that the only thing I’m satisfied with is printing, and that what I’ve written is a 2-star report.

So that’s what I’ve wound up giving it. If you rarely fax or scan or copy multi-page documents, you’ll be happy with the printer.

The use of the product is a bit more complicated and some of the options are hard to find, but it does do what it is supposed to do and the printing seems to be good.

We were diappointed that it took about half the ink in the starter cartridge to load the inner tanks. You would think they could afford to give a standard or XL cartridge so the new owners don’t feel like they are going to run out of ink so soon! Received the printer with the wrong black cartridge, which was quickly remedied by Brother support.

When we tried to connect the USB and CAT cables we were surprised: there was no wired connection and the USB port was about 8-10 inches inside the printer underneath the scanning platform via a wave shaped indentation in the lower body.

Some thicker USB cables might have trouble fitting in?.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased the Brother MFC-J995DW Printer after much research. One of the reasons I chose this printer was that it monitors the ink cartridge capacities and allows you to order before you run out.

It saves you from having to wait for a depleted cartridge to be ordered and wait for the shipment. The general everyday printing is excellent. I like the fact it is also wireless allowing me to print from my phone, iPad and laptop easily.

I’ve not experienced any jamming or other issues. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that the quality of photo printing is not all that great. But for everyday document or office printing, it has been flawless.

I bought this printer 13 months ago. I just started a small business and use it primarily for printing out black and white documents and color documents every once in a while. I used to have an hp desk jet 15 years ago that lived to be 10+ years so I felt confident buying this brand.

Big mistake, as with most companies that date back everything has turned subscription based. I am not a fan of their cartridge program because I do not like the fact that hp has access to the documents I print (highly sensitive).

I declined this feature for security and left me with the inability to get help when my printer was having issues. Another big issue with this printer is the cost of the cartridge if you aren’t involved in their program.

The printer really doesn’t print that much for each cartridge and it would have been cheaper to go to a fedex and print there. The bluetooth portion of the printer has been a complete joke. Each time I want to print, none of my devices can see the printer’s bluetooth.

I have to go the printer restart it completely and then restart my device each time. Not really sure the bluetooth is working properly. I also have a Macbook and apparently hp is not compatible so you can’t get into any settings without downloading their app.

But even the app cannot pick up on the bluetooth. The worst part about this printer is that in this 13th month of having this printer, it started taking 10 mins to print each page. I went to customer service but because I am now a month out of my 1 year warranty I don’t qualify for any customer assistance other than their virtual assistant which only answers up to 4 questions.

I would have expected better support. With all that said, I buying a new printer (different brand) and going to destroy this one ‘Office Space’ style before I have an aneurysm.

When my HP 5640 gave up the ghost after nearly 10 years of reliable service, I needed to replace it with a printer of similar quality whose cost would not break my piggy bank. I found this printer, the price was right, and it had several features my now departed printer did not have (such as scan and copy).

When I received it, I was surprised by how lightweight it was. But setting it up was a snap (directions included for doing so were clear and easy to follow). Inserting the ink cartridges was a new experience since they required being “snapped” into place instead of closing a spring-loaded cover.

However, when I loaded it up with paper (the feeder is substantially smaller than what I was used to with my previous printer), turned it on, and then had my laptop print its first page to it, I was satisfied with the result.

I was pleased to see that I could also “print” to a PDF format instead of paper, if I chose that option. This printer also has the capability of using a Wi-Fi connection via a router using Bluetooth protocols), and that means more than one device can use it from anywhere within range PLUS one can use a cellphone or tablet (with Wi-Fi capability) to print out a document to it.

I did not try that option, so I do not know how well it works. But the best featureis that the printer can order additional ink cartridges when it senses they are getting low–provided you set that option up with HP when you register the printer AND as long as you leave the Wi-Fi connection open.

I also tried the scan and copy functions, and they worked quite well. However, both those functions work only with standard paper, so things like framed photos and the like cannot be done. All in all, this printer will serve my needs AND the ink cartridges are substantially less expensive than they were for my previous printer (like about a third the cost), so that definitely makes up for any “inconveniences” there may be with this printer–as in paper loading is not quite as simple as loading a tray and the receiving tray does not extend out long enough to properly hold the printed sheets without them slipping off onto the floor.

Also there is no reverse print option, so printing out a series of pages that are meant to be in order will need to be reversed by hand. And while the software accommodates two-sided printing, that must be done one at a time by hand (while the printer waits for you to flip the sheet and then it in the paper tray a second time) as each side is ready to be printed.

I will also be interested to see how long the ink cartridges last compared to what I used before. However, the two supplied “beginner” cartridges (that supposedly held much less ink than the “regular” ones I will need to buy did provide me with two good weeks of printing, or about 150 pages total.

The regular cartridges claim to produce at least double that. The unique aspect was that the software needed to run the printer had to be downloaded from a dedicated website and not from a disk, but once installed it identified my printer and all worked well.

It includes features like choosing specific pages to print (helpful when you only need certain pages–like from a multi-paged digital document), adjusting margins, adjusting print quality (draft, normal, best) and resolution (up to 1200 dpi), and having access to a wide variety of paper sizes Including envelopes, index cards, etc.

I found the printer even worked well with label sheets and photo paper, but I doubt that anything thicker or stiffer than that would not be handled by this printer. So if you’re looking for a printer that can handle relatively light printing demands from home uses, then this one is perfect.

If you are looking for something to handle the level of a typical office’s output, then I would suggest looking for a different model. But either way, I can say that HP is a brand I totally trust for reliability.

I bought this printer thinking it would have the basics for an older couple with an up to date Windows 10 PC I was helping who do not have WiFi, but just wired internet. All printers I have ever bought have either worked by just plugging it in by USB, or by downloading a driver from the official website.

I went through the HP Smart App Prompts several times, and the printer was “Setup” and “Ready”, but all I could do was print test pages from the app. I even tried setting it up through Windows Printers/Scanners List, but still would have issues.

In all other applications like Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Word, the print jobs would get stuck in queue and go no where. As an IT, I tried several ways to get it working with printing from other apps, but it would not work.

Removing the printer, then re-setting it up. There was no way this older couple I was helping was going to figure this out if I was having a hay day with it. I like the printer, and it printed clearly, that part is great.

it just doesn’t support Windows 10 PCs from my knowledge, and nothing on the HP website I tried worked, and so I ran out of drivers/programs from their website to try. I have used the HP Envy 5070, and the HP Envy 7855 that use the very same HP Smart App as this 3755.

Those work, amazingly, almost to the point that you can plug and play. So the issues with 3755 was baffling. I went ahead an returned it, as it won’t work with Windows 10 computers it seems. If you are looking for a decent printer, look for a higher number of model than 3755 and spend the extra money.

I just bought my second 8620. I buy this printer for one reason: it can use the cheap offbrand 281 cartridges. A refill of genuine Canon cartridges costs as much as $70. Offbrand cartridges cost as little as $5 for 5 cartridges.

Note to Canon: the minute you close this loophole, our relationship is over! I installed the Canon software on my laptop and it worked fine for printing and scanning. Not so for my android phone and ipad.

No matter. As long as they are on the same wireless network as the printer, you’re fine. You don’t really need special software to print. I only need a basic printer and scanner and was happy with my previous basic plastic concrete block.

This printer is rather more complex and has a lot more features than a basic printer, some of which I really like. Cool features: document feeder for copying and scanning, rear feed for small photos and envelopes, automatic duplex printing.

Negative features: the control panel has to flip out in order to print, bottom paper tray is unnecessarily complex. There’s a little plastic partial cover for the paper tray that has to be removed to put the paper in and snapped back on before you shove the tray back in.

I can totally see this getting lost or broken, and it prevents me from just shoving single sheets of paper into the tray without having to pull out the tray, take the little plastic lid off, put the paper in, snap the little plastic lid back on, shove the tray back, and confirm the paper type.

Features I don’t use and care nothing about: the fax, the Canon Image Garden. In summation: it’s a nice, if slightly fussy, printer and has the potential to save a ton on ink.

I tried out this printer after my previous Brother printer finally gave up the ghost after 11 years of use. I should have realized the problems right out of the box when the download link for the installer software fails to download anything.

The executable attempts to download files, but fails with a vague error message. This unit worked fine as a printer attached to my PC for about a month or 2. Then, would no longer print anything. It failed to recognize data being sent to it.

Replacing the USB cable did no good. In fact, I used the same cable I used on my old Brother and the replacement for this unit just fine, so it wasn’t a USB cable or port issue. I ended up replacing this with another Brother unit which is working fine after about a month.

I gave this Canon to my mother for use a copier. As a copier, this unit is more than adequate for the job. I can’t really say it works well as a scanner for PC because the one time I tested this function with VueScan, if you changed to any DPI beyond the default, you received scrambled scans.

This is probably a bug in VueScan, but since I didn’t test it beyond this, I can’t say for sure. I didn’t buy this Canon for its scanner capabilities, but for copier and printer ones. Bottom line is I can’t recommend this unit for anything other than making copies.

If you want a good printer or scanner, look elsewhere. Go for a Brother. I should have when making my rounds for a replacement for my 11 year old Brother. The local Office Depot store didn’t have any when I found this Canon; I eventually just ordered a Brother from OfficeDepot.

Pros: Good color printing of photos for a 5 ink printer, rear tray for special papers and envelopes Cons: Just about everything else Replaced a 922 6 year old printer with this TR8620. One would think that the new machine would at least have the same basic features, but this machine is a step backwards.

Examples include: Duplex scanning is not true duplex, but requires taking the source after it has been scanned on one side and reinserting it in the tray so the other side is scanned and the software will place the second scanning in the right place if you did it correctly.

The 922 scanned both sides automatically; The rear tray is great for specialty papers, but the set up for the papers is very complex and requires many steps. Previous printers I had with this feature were much simpler to use; The machine feels flimsy ; Adding paper to the low capacity bottom tray involves moving moving the front cover and then replacing it plus the tray has a cover for the back of the tray that is just one more step that my other printers did not have; I wish I could like this printer, but it is truly a poorly designed machine that is a step back in many ways from my prior Canon printers in this price range.

I use Canon for my photography and thought the printer would be of comparable quality, but Canon went cheap on us.

I’ve used a ton of printers over the past few years, both in my job and personal life. My wife is a teacher, so inkjet printers tend to get worn out quickly in our house and it seems like there is always something new on our shelf.

When I received the Canon PIXMA TS6420a for review, I was hoping it would compare favorably with similarly priced printers I’ve used in the past. What I found was a bit of a mixed bag. First, the good: after a pretty ordinary out of the box experience, I was impressed to see Canon includes a sample pack of their high quality glossy photo paper (4×6 size) and also that the quick start guide is really just a QR code for you to scan with your phone.

This isn’t new, of course – what was new is that the QR code took me directly to a page with a link to the Android app which made setting up and using the printer SUPER easy. Huge kudos to Canon for that.

I was also extremely impressed with the quality of the photos I got with the included glossy paper. Regular color prints for a presentation and office document were just ‘good’ – not mindblowing but good enough that I’d be fine printing something to hand out at the office.

Also, the manual feed slot that flips up from the back of the printer is a pretty good design and makes it really easy to print envelopes or photos without opening the main tray. There really isn’t anything “bad” about the TS6420a, but there’s just too much compromise for me.

The color ink is a single CMY cartridge for all 3 colors, which means you’re going to waste a lot of ink unless you always print the same amount of each color somehow. When Red runs out, it doesn’t matter if you have yellow and blue left – too bad.

For me the real dealbreaker is the size of the paper tray, though. The main tray only holds about 100 sheets and it just feels super tiny. Yes, the rear flip up tray can hold plain paper, taking you to 200 sheets, but it’s all just too small.

If you’re looking for a printer primarily for photos that does a few other things, the TS6420a does reasonably good quality photos for a reasonably low asking price. I think the costs of buying the tri-color ink will add up over time, and the low paper capacity makes this frustrating to use for home office tasks.

The Canon Pixma is a wireless printer, copier, and scanner. This one has a heavy emphasis on wireless. Not only does it not come with a USB cable, the USB-A port is practically hidden. And honestly, it’s been a very long time since I’ve needed to use a cable with a printer so seeing this almost disappear means wireless has become a first class feature.

Continuing that trend, you get a pretty basic black and white OLED screen for basic status and menu control plus some physical buttons on the screen. I go back and forth with phystical versus touch sensitive buttons.

Done well, touch sensitive screens are great. Physical buttons however work well and save cost. And in some ways, they simplify the interface as there are buttons that directly control an action rather than needing to go a layer into the on-screen menu.

As usual, every printer manufacturer has their own app though I tend to use those almost only for scanning. Printing just goes through the normal driver once the printer is joined to my wireless network.

Setup for wifi was a bit of a pain point. This is probably something Canon can fix with a firmware update but the printer had issues making the initial connection or perhaps recognizing that it had made one.

I found the best thing is to connect to your 2. 4Ghz SSID (I have a split 2. 4Ghz and 5Ghz router) using the on-screen menu for setup. When loading paper, make sure to use the aligners especially on the back feed tray.

While it can be nice to use that and quicker to load, it seems more finnicky in terms of needing the extenders fully out to feed paper correctly. That said, once setup, the printer works pretty flawlessly.

The printer looks good and the black color fits in nicely with where this is positioned, on a table along a wall between the kitchen and living room. Gives a nice transition from the microwave (also black) to printer while not looking out of place.

While I tend to get white printers, this is a good look given it doesn’t reside in my office. This is a color printer and so it comes with both color (one for all the colors) and black ink cartridges.

Print speed isn’t supoer fast at 12 ppm for black and white and about 7 ppm but this is decent for my intended use – a printer for other home users so my office printer isn’t contantly being raided or has important print jobs that require interrupting a zoom meeting to retreive the output.

In this regard, some features, almost expected with the Canon name, are a nice touch. For example, where this printer squeezes a second paper tray, instead of being a single sheet tray (which my office printer primarily uses for duplex printing or odd paper sizes), this one can handle a full 100 sheets in the rear paper tray and can also take photo paper.

Print resolution is pretty decent to regular paper and pretty nice with photos. I suspect this printer’s color cartidge will get more exercise than we normally see at home. Black and white printouts look good, the paper comes out nice and dry – I think I only really noticed that initial damp like texture when printing a full page color image to normal printer paper.

While I honestly don’t use it that much, a feature that would be nice is the ability to scan to a sd card or usb drive. It annoys me a bit that I’m forced to use a specific app to scan but I can print from almost anything.

Aside from initial setup, the only other pain point with this may be ink. I can’t tell how much is left, but based on the paper “weight” after color prints, this seems to use more ink than my office printer which suggests refills may be more frequent.

The Canon PIXMA TS6420a All in One is a good, basic, easy to use home printer. With it you can print, copy & scan documents. It is compact so it has a small footprint on your desk. This model doesn’t include an automatic document feeder, so that adds to the sleek look.

However, it DOES have auto-duplex so you are able to print on both the front & the back. Also small is the paper tray – it is quite small holding approximately 100 sheets of paper. The tray sticks out about 2″ from the printer.

You can push it further in, but then you can’t print from it. On the plus side, in addition to the front tray, you can feed various sizes/types of paper from the back – such as your photo paper. I find the printer to be solid, but I find the parts to be somewhat flimsy.

The paper tray, paper exit tray and rear paper feeder all feel as though I might not want my 12 year old to handle them. They seem like they might easily break – but so far, so good! Setting up the printer was very easy – I used the suggested website and the set-up was a breeze.

My network easily found the printer and WiFi connected on my one and only try. That is a nice change from some other recent electronic devices that needed multiple attempts. The set-up process forces you to look at the VERY small 1.

44″ OLED display, which at that size, is not a touch screen. Personally, I needed to be right up on it to see what it was telling me. Once I got through the ink installation which was easy & intuitive, the printer needed to do its alignment.

Using 2 sheets of paper, it was a slow process, but everything came out great. Once all of that was done, I was easily able to print from my PC and my iPhone. That made me happy! Copying was easy as well.

Unfortunately, I have not had the occasion to scan as yet. This printer is definitely on the slow side, however after printing/copying a variety of documents and photos, I find the print quality of the Canon TS6420a to be surprisingly good! After printing stops, I do find that there are a lot of sounds coming from under the cover – on its own.

I don’t know what is moving around in there, but it stops after a bit. Somehow I equate slow with less than, and this printer isn’t that. It is making a great little home/office printer for us. We don’t need super fast, we need quality.

In that area, this Canon printer doesn’t disappoint.

I have owned an older version of this same model for 15 years, and I’m hoping this one last as long. The old one still functions, but it’s so old that I can’t connect it to my current computer. Hence this purchase.

The printer functions perfectly. Print quality is great. It’s fast an efficient. The small size and portability are the most important features for me, and it delivers on both. It was easy to set up and connected to my wifi easily and quickly.

I tried printing from my mobile. It worked, but it’s going to take some tries to get it to work correctly. I don’t foresee myself printing from my mobile often, so I’m not concerned that it’s not perfection from the start.

Overall I like this printer and would recommend it to anyone looking for something small and efficient.

I had an earlier version of this when I traveled for business years ago when we had internet but GPS devices were still not common to print maps while I was on the road and loved it. This newer version is no exception.

If you have a larger laptop bag or backpack this will fit to take with you but also has some good home uses too. Most devices are easy to set up but this has instructions that I found to be very cleverly setup.

Scan the QR code or navigate to the set up page and there you will see step by step by step videos. For each section there are two levels, an over view for folks familiar with these things and with a click you get more in depth help.

Perfect for the person that can get to the internet but set up is intimidating. Print from phone is not only supported but super easy to set up too. Which leads me to who might consider purchasing this device.

With more an more people using their phone or tablet for online orders some people don’t have a computer. This is a great option because our need to print reams of documents at home is essentially a thing of the past.

Taking up such a small space this is the perfect solution for the occasional return shipping label, grocery list, or a quick print of the granddaughter or nephew’s latest achievement for the fridge. The ink comes in very easy to install cartridges – bare in mind that the color cartridge is a single unit with all 3 colors.

For space reasons, this is necessary but again if you have a high capacity need a larger non portable printer with individual ink for CMY is probably a better solution. Print quality and speed are very good.

I printed several documents on plain and photo paper and the results were excellent (taking into consideration photos on plan paper will only be so, so even on a higher end device) Personally I will use this as a second printer in my sewing room where, again, I sometimes need to print something now and again and am too lazy to go to my home office.

I would consider this for the parent, or grand parent that has that occasional need to print and doesn’t want a gargantuan device cluttering up their space. If you are looking for a small printer for travel or any other reason I can highly recommend this for both the computer savvy and not so savvy customers.

Canon Pixma TR150 is almost one-of-a-kind printer. If you are a business person who travels a lot, and you need to print on location, there are not too many choices you can choose from. This is one of them, and the other one is made by another manufacturer – both have been around for years.

Each company upgrades its perspective printers and this one is the latest from Canon. By chance, the previous model’s color was silver – this one has been upgraded to all-black. (The other brand, too, if I may say so.

) Setting up a printer is not for the faint of heart – but Canon makes it very easy. If you have a smartphone and a barcode reader (a program), even on the box of the printer you can watch videos on how to do this.

The printer comes with a CD disc which pretty much only has a tiny program that leads you to its website (the barcode would’ve brought you here, as well. ) All you need to do is choose the right model of the printer and if you cannot do that, perhaps someone else should be setting up this printer for you instead.

It would download the driver for your operating system – but before that, the video will walk you through the actual set up of the printer – inserting the printheads, and the inks themselves. At this stage, you must pay absolute attention because while the printer appears to be very well made, the printhead mechanism looks fragile and can be easily broken if you do not follow the directions explicitly.

First – the printheads go in – one for color – and one for black ink. Then you insert the ink cartridges. They are pretty much foolproof because one will not fit the other – but do not forget to remove the tape that protects the head and the plastic cover that protects the inks.

The printer will take a few minutes (and you follow the instructions on the little LCD screen) and you have the opportunity to print a test print (at this time, it will align the heads). Then the next step is to actually connect the printer to your computer.

I did mine wirelessly through the home’s router – and it was beyond easy. I did not even have to set up (or choose which wireless signal the printer should connect to), it shows the strongest one which was pretty much three feet away from the printer and it was the correct choice.

You can of course connect the printer to your computer through the USB port. I tried that with one of the desktop, and it worked fine, as well. The next step was to actually print something. Typical Windows printer’s driver will allow you to choose “high quality” versus default quality.

I printed a paragraph of text, and I drew a box and filled it with rainbow colors (I used CorelDRAW) – it looked totally acceptable to me and it printed quite fast. The paper shot out of the printer (there is no tray to catch it), but you can of course feet blank pages on the top and it will hold a handful.

This printer does not do duplex (printing on both sides) but you can do so manually. The driver will guide you to flip the paper over. It really is a handsome printer and small enough that if I were a student, I would take this to the library along with my laptop.

There is an optional USD99 battery (rechargeable) that will make the printer work without being plugged in, and it’s supposed alas a few hundred pages. (I don’t have one test it. ) Its competitor (name not mentioned) comes with one, so you know.

But if you want to use this printer remotely (on the go) is probably best to connect it via the USB port. There is a way to connect to the computer directly without the router. I feel that if I really have to use this printer on the go, I don’t see any problem bringing a USB cable.

(It doesn’t come with one, but nowadays it costs a little. ) I play with the printer quite a bit printing various things. Then I thought what would happen if I were to use generic ink. Brand-name cannot inks aren’t cheap – none of them are.

The replacement that comes with two Blacks, and one color is almost USD50. I tried generic inks, that cause only three dollars apiece. It installed without any problem and the printer recognized it. And I continue to do test prints, and it continued to work and a little LCD screen was able to tell me the level of the ink.

I even printed some photos on color photo paper (by Canon), and it worked fine, too. That could be the option of those who want to save some money – and who hasn’t tried aftermarket inks on their printers – let’s be honest here.

Pros: Well-made, handsome and small printer that you can take with you. Canon makes it very easy to get it going by providing excellent instructions on installing the hardware and the software. Cons: Optional rechargeable battery is a hundred dollars and it doesn’t come with it.

Let’s be realistic here – if they include that, it will increase the value of this printer so much. Lastly, just like any manufactures – the ink cartridges are not inexpensive. It is a pity that this printer is not their Megatank (which has continuous ink tanks) but I realize for printer that can be carried around, the ink can leak all over the place.

Fortunately, the generic inks that I have tried worked without any problem. Summary: Beyond useful for those that need to print on the go. Even without the optional battery, unless you have to print in your car, you could plug it in somewhere (i.

e. in your hotel or at the library). For students at college, they charge you by the page and it is more convenient to print on the go. If you do print a lot, then invest in their Megatank – but if you are away from your room, this is close to perfect.

I understand there are only two manufactures that make portable printers that can print like this – so you know, the other one’s ink cartridges is connected to the printhead, so it costs even more to replace.

The printer arrived before the promised delivery date. It was well packaged and easy to unpack and install. This is the second printer of this model that my Husband has installed. The first printer was installed in a matter of an hour or so, and this included signing up for the Instant Ink service.

The HP OfficeJet 8020e was selected for use as a network COLOR printer, and for use as a networked scanner – to be used by our families multiple Windows and Linux computer systems. This printer was purchased to replace a 6-year old ENVY 5530 all-in-one printer, that became totally non-functional after a multiple hour “debugging” session with HP Support technicians.

Prior to the support call, the ENVY 5530 could print, but its scanner suddenly stopped working. It has been used as a low-volume copier/printer, and to scan original documents for storage or transmission.

After the multi-hour support call, the ENVY 5530 printer is now a dead paper-weight, and now will not print or scan. The first HP8020E that my Husband installed only required a 5-minute installation of the required print driver for Windows, and it was instantly available for use as a network printer by our Windows and Linux computer systems.

The new HP 8020E, however, REQUIRES that you install HP SMART PRINT on a Windows system, before you can even sign up for the Instant Ink service. We experienced difficulties in (1) the installation of Smart Print, (2) updating HP’s Support Assistant, and (3) attempting to add the new printer to our existing Instant Ink account.

My guess is that some folks may have had trouble in the past either installing the appropriate Windows printer driver, or maybe they had difficulty in using printer’s built-in Web Server for any of its fancier functions, such as scanning from a networked computer.

And the “fix” by HP appears to have been to require the use of the HP Support Assistant and/or the HP Smart Printer application. The Smart Print application, however, kept confusing the previous ENVY 5530 printer with the HP OfficeJet 8020E printer and so kept claiming that the “proper” driver –was– installed, but the app (Win10 program) could not communicate with the newer HP 8020E printer – and the app suggested that we call HP Support for assistance.

After several different phone calls, and hard to hear conversations, the problems were finally resolved. As soon as the necessary changes were made to our Instant Ink account, the printer was fully operational from all of our computing devices.

Would I purchase this printer again? YES! The printer works flawlessly and does everything we needed.

First of all, I want to say that I purchased this printer after reading a ton of positive reviews and based on my great experience with my old OfficeJet printer that lasted for years and always provided excellent quality prints and scans.

I was 100% confident in my purchase of this product, now I wish I had never bought it. I have had nothing but problems from the day I got it home. I did not want to connect to my wi-fi (and I have excellent wi-fi speed with boosters all over my home that were professionally installed by my carrier).

Then, it didn’t want to connect to my Dell computer. After many HP support chats, I finally got the thing set up, but it won’t stay connected to my laptop. I’m constantly having to run the HP Smart Troubleshoot and repair it to get it to reconnect to my computer.

I’m replacing the ink for the first time, using a generic ink from a brand that I have always used and trust well. I just put the new ink cartridges in the printer gave me an error message “Cartridges Rejected”, “The indicated cartridges have been identified as altered or cloned”, “HP+ Printers require Original HP cartridges.

Replace the non-original cartridges to continue printing”!!!! Now, if you don’t mind all of this, this print quality is good, and the scan quality is good. I haven’t had any trouble with paper jams either.

Mechanically, it’s a well-built printer and worth the money. That is if you want to spend all of your money on overpriced ink and all of your time fighting to constantly reconnect it to your non-HP computer! So for Value, I’m rating this a 1 because they expect you to spend all of your money on HP supplies, including the computer that you connect it to.

Quality, I’ll rate it a 4 because when you are able to print or scan, the quality that you would expect from an OfficeJet is there, but I’m very disappointed with the time that I have to spend to get it to produce.

For Ease of use, I would rate it a 0 if I could. Would I recommend this product, as I stated, only if you have a newer HP computer and are willing to spend the money on HP supplies, including paper.

I bought this a couple months ago with the intent of using it for both personal and work use, as I work from home. The initial set up process was okay, as I bought this printer with the full intent of using the HP+ and Instant Ink services, so I knew I’d need it connected to wifi and all that.

However, the HASSLE that came with also trying to get the printer connected via USB to my work computer which utilizes a VPN rendering the wireless connection unable to be used – was ridiculous. You would think the printer would be able to be connected to a computer and work the same way printers always have worked, but it still needed the wireless connection for set up which was interfering with my ability to use it.

Long story short there, through a lot of work with my work IT guys, we figured out how to simultaneously have it connected wirelessly to my personal computer while also connected through USB to my work computer and both options work to print and scan.

It was a seemingly unnecessarily long, complicated process to get to that point in the first place though. What’s troubling me now is that sometimes the printer just wants to refuse or takes forever to print something, especially if it has been a little while since I used it.

It will sit and make all kinds of annoying LOUD noises like it’s *going to* print, but never actually prints anything until you cancel (which also takes forever) and restart the printer. This is what I’m talking about when I say when it works it’s great.

When it is seamlessly printing, the quality is good. I like to print pictures on letter paper and the print and color quality for those are nice. The HP+ or HP smart whatever app on my computer has nice features and I enjoy the Instant Ink service a great deal as well.

It’s just the hassles that this printer sometimes has to just go through the simple task of printing that drives me insane.

I purchased this HP Tango at the start of the pandemic. My last printer was bulky, slow, and always had connection issues. Now working from home, I was in search of something reliable, compact, sleek, and modern for my new “home office”.

This was perfect! Two years later, it continues to print seamlessly and effortlessly. It is quite too. I print a lot from my phone and MacBook Pro; I have never had any connection issues. I also took advantage of the free trial of HP Instant Ink and have kept my subscription since.

$5 a month for 100 copies is just enough to meet my home printing needs. I never have to worry about ordering cartridges or spending a fortune on ink refills. They automatically send you replacement cartridges before you run out and a prepaid return bag for the empty cartridges.

I highly recommend if you’re looking for a compact printer.

I read a ton of reviews for a ton of printers. Most people who had reviewed this had received it for free to review it. I didn’t trust those reviews. But after researching a ton of printers I decided to give this a try.

100% recommend! It stays connected to our internet all the time. Zero issues with that. It prints wirelessly so you can be at work and print something at home. It’s very compact so great for small spaces! It’s very sleek.

The ink is incredibly easy to change. The printing quality is excellent. The app is easy to use and set up. I put it on all our laptops and had no issues. I’m not techy and had no trouble. It’s probably took about 30 minutes to set up my phone, my husbands phone, and 3 laptops.

I would hands down recommend this printers to anyone.

small and efficient. I like this printer only uses 2 ink cartridges- 1 black and 1 tricolor. Setup was fast. must have internet wifi for setup including your wifi password so be sure to have it handy when you are ready to do setup.

Instructions don’t say what to do with gray plastic tray that is included in the box with printer so I went online and watched a video of unboxing the printer. You set the printer down on top of gray tray with tab pointing to the front , then you can pull the tray out from underneath printer to unfold it.

The printouts land on the tray when printed to keep them in place. when not using the tray you can tuck it back under the printer. Pretty cool feature. There isn’t anything I don’t like about how the printer works.

Paper Instructions lacked a few details about how to to install tray and ink cartridges so that’s why I used google to find a video of unboxing HP Tango printer. I wokld recommend watching video first.

I bought this printer while in nursing school to print out some of my detailed and color coordinated notes for my exams and then after while studying for my NCLEX. I really like this printer. It’s easy to use, the scan option and the app that comes with it has come in really handy for things other than printing.

The ink mail-service subscription is absolutely amazing I must say! I hated having to buy ink cartridges before because sometimes they’re so expensive that at times it made more sense to cough up the extra money to buy a whole new printer as opposed to the $50-$70 ink cartridges.

HP now has this $5 subscription (which I received free for 6 months to try out and will absolutely be keeping it after the trial is done) the printer is obviously connected wirelessly so the app that you use this printer with keeps track of how much ink you have left and without me having to do anything, whenever one of the inks gets low, HP automatically sends me a new cartridge for that color in the mail.

It’s been really convenient and it’s truly one of my favorite features of the brand of printers. The printing quality is also really nice. My only issue and the reason I didn’t make it 5 stars is that sometimes (it’s happened 2 or 3 times) the printer starts acting wonky and making this repetitive sound while I’m trying to print like it’s wanting to print but gets stuck or something.

I’ve had to unplug and re-plug to fix the issue then I try printing again and it works fine. Not sure why that happens, maybe I got a lemon but other than that it’s a phenomenal printer.

From day one I’ve had nothing but problems with this thing. I know everyone says they’re tech savvy, but as a PC enthusiast that builds from scratch and is well aware of troubleshooting. But this thing.

If it’s not possessed I can’t come up with a solution. First off, it took almost an hour to set up, and that’s not even counting the half a dozen times HP tries to shove it’s subscription offer down your throat.

Once your forced into downloading their app (yup, no driver file) and registering online for an account (yup), THEN you get full access to your printer. And I will agree, it worked fine after that until later that night.

It would wake up and grind it’s gears for a few minutes with a “Firmware unable to update” message on the screen. This went on for weeks and the only resolution was to unplug it. One day a couple months later it randomly showed a message that the firmware was updated successfully.

No idea how, when, or why but ok. For ink, it’s a hog. And there’s nothing really out there generic wise to save some cash so your stuck with OEM ink. Or pushed into a monitoring subscription service where HP monitors how many pages you print and how much ink your using monthly (yup, again).

The breaking point was tonight. Between the HP Smart App and the print service needed on phones makes it all but impossible to print (feel free to school reviews of HP print spooler). Could not get it to connect properly or print.

Either through a normal connection or wifi direct. This printer spends more time installing unnecessary apps on devices and over monitoring the usage. Add that in with terrible connectivity and compatibility issues and it’s over.

Unfortunately it met a sad ending today and will not be missed at all. My parting words for a horrible, horrible, printer. “PC Load Letter”.

This is the first Epson printer I’ve owned. In the past had aways used HP. But after a few frustrations with HP 3in1 printers (excessive ink usage due to auto maintenance that could not be turned off, costly cartridges and premature printhead failure) I decided to try Epson.

This unit received several positive reviews, so far seems to perform well. It was well packed and setup was easy. The only two critiques would be that wireless setup is a little too intuitive in that it wants to use your internet connection for most things and setting up “direct connect” so as to not expose it to the internet was a bit of challenge that required more indepth reading of the manual.

Secondly, When using a USB drive there is no easy way to determine when it’s safe to remove the device. You must use a device with a staus LED and be sure the LED on the device is OFF before removing it.

The printer destroyed the first USD stick I tried, the second worked ok. It would be nice if the printer would display a message thats it’s “safe to remove device” so the user can be sure it’s ok to remove.

I wanted to replace my HP printer as I didn’t wanted to be held hostage to their ink / paper subscription scheme. Setting it up for my Mac wasn’t too bad. It took about 5 minutes to set up to the WiFi and connect to the computer, There’s several drawbacks: 1) The WF-3820 doesn’t come with any software and drivers for Mac.

They have to be downloaded from the Epson website and installed one by one. There’s about four installations. 2) Once installed, the only program that seems to work is using Preview to scan documents to the computer.

3) While it does print on two sides, it does NOT have two sided scanning. There is a workaround. Scan odd side pages first, then take the scanned documents that are now flipped, reinsert them into the feeder, finish scanning, and then reorganize them by moving the thumbnails in preview.

It’s a bit of a pain but it does work. On the pro side, the document feeder works without jamming, printed documents come out very clean and fast, photos look solid, and the fax works great without interfering with my landline.

For the price, it’s a good value and less expensive than other online sites. But Epson could benefit greatly with better user friendly software to address the issues I mentioned.

I bought this printer to replace a Canon all in one printer I had for at least 5 years. I always had a problem with the Canon so I was ready to change brands. I have a small business so I purchased this printer with that in mind.

So far I am very happy with this printer both in text and with photos. One of the things I like is this printer is fast to print. By fast I mean you hit print on the computer and the Epson will print it out.

My Canon had to think about it for at least 5 minutes before printing. It was always like that so it wasn’t the computer or settings it just took a long time to finally print. As far as printing speed goes the Epson is very fast.

It can spit out text prints very fast. Photo’s take longer but I expect that. The ink seems to be lasting longer then the Canon as well. I have printed at least 100+ pages and around 10 photos and there is still plenty of ink left.

I use this printer as a wifi printer and it was very painless to setup. Unlike the Canon the Epson hasn’t had any problems with the wifi and it works on both of my computers with no problems. Time will tell on the longevity of this printer, nothing lasts forever.

If you are in the market for a fast, (so far) reliable, good printing all in one printer then I recommend the Epson.

No stars at all! This printer has absolutely zero function. We purchased the device, had trouble with the initial install even though we have HP Assistant and our computer should have automatically picked up the printer when we turned it on.

The computer did not automatically find the printer, so I manually installed it. Then went back to HP Assistant to install the updates and drivers. The printer prints 5-8 pages per minute which is horribly slow as if I’m trying to move a mule.

Then a week after purchasing the printer, the black ink ran out so I replaced it and the printer stopped printing in black. Only the color worked but it was terribly weak color. Then I googled the problem and saw that it might be dirty or dry, so I tried to fixed the problem according the suggested solutions and nothing worked.

The printer no longer uses the black ink. Okay, that’s dumb, but fine I’ll print in color just to get my papers, but then the color comes out so weak that it is basically invisible. So now I am going to return this printer after owning it for one week.

Absolutely terrible experience with this device. Not worth a single penny, but no problem at all, I am going to go get my pennies back.

I was bought the HP Deskjet 4152e All-In-One Wireless Color Printer by a friend with hopes it would print from my Chromebook as well as his smartphone using Bluetooth. We read that once you get the printer setup from a smartphone with HP app installed using wifi connection printing from devices in home network was suppose to be as easy as find printer then print.

Printing using a devices Bluetooth pairing was to be same. Nothing about this printer was easy or without some step necessary before printing. When one device had difficulty a setup reboot was necessary and then the other had to go thru hassle of setup like dominos.

I can say I haven’t been able to use any features like photo printing, scanning, copying, fax, print from email or many other tasks a person’s expects a All-In-One printer to seamlessly perform. On top of that the issue of cartridges is another reason not to buy.

You don’t have option to black only print and the cartridges printer came with are empty in less than 40 pages and then you are offer to buy a month to month HP printing service. New cartridges must be HP for printer to read chip and acknowledge like old school Kcups and to replace is about half the cost of printer.

On paper the HP Inkjet 4152e All-In-One printer looks good on paper but a time blackhole in reality.

I needed a small all in one for the space it had to go into. Printers started getting rather large compared to what they were years ago and it was getting hard to find one to fit in the space. It’s a cheap printer, feels like a cheap printer and I don’t know how long it’ll last but it may surprise me.

HP claims it to have a 1000 page per month duty cycle and I don’t print anywhere near that number so maybe it will last 4 or 5 years. or maybe not. I’ve only owned this a couple of days and so far all the functions seem to work OK.

It was very difficult to set up using a wifi network with a security password so one word of advice – use your smart phone to install it on a secure network. The phone set the printer up quickly after I struggled for quite a while on the computer.

Also, you need to log into the printer for internet access and it asks you for a password – I found it is either just the “enter” button or “space” then “enter” buttons. Once I got it all set up it seems to be working OK.

One thing I’ve always hated with the 2 ink cartridge system is wasting some unused expensive ink; I’ve signed up for the trial of the instant ink program to see if it is more economical to do it that way.

I took away 1 star because of the setup and how cheap it feels. I would have probably bought a little better all in one if they made more (and the store having more options at the time of purchase) of the size I need.

If it lasts for 4+ years based on my usage that will be great.

Decent, basic, printer for basic needs. We were looking for something with a small footprint for a small workspace. We also needed something that could support only a couple uses a week, without spending too much.

This printer seemed to match our requirements. There are some nuances we found that I’ll cover here at a high level: – The printer mandates a minimum 1/2 inch margin. No setting we found would ‘force’ it to print into the 1/2 margin.

If you have headers or footers that would have normally printed above/below 1/2″, you may have to adjust those. – On a Mac at least, the printer seemed like it ignored the “Black and White” option in the print dialog.

We found that we had to go to the system print dialog and set that setting there. Application-based print dialogs’ color settings seemed to be ignored. – The Instant Ink setup didn’t work for us. We’re glad it didn’t though; the HP rep at the store talked us into the trial of Instant Ink.

But looking back on it, I should have been stronger and said “No”. Most “pages” we print are only a couple lines. A monthly ink charge for us doesn’t make sense when the density of print is so minimal.

Our XL print cartridges will likely last an incredibly long time, all with no monthly fee. – We’ve only scanned minimally, but with our first few scans, we didn’t get the document fed straight. A little practice and this is much easier now.
