I purchased these and am still using them but not happy with them. They are very thin and leak onto the floor, carpet or whatever they are laying on. I use six per week but their thinness allows the urine to seep right through to the pad I have under them causing me to wash that underlying pad.

I had used another brand but no one sold them. Thankfully, the other brand is back for sale and I can go back to purchasing them againand thankfully.

I have a teacup poodle and live Upper Michigan, these have been wonderful. I like them the best of all the different ones I have tried. They seem to absorb well and she doesn’t mind them. Some I have had she doesn’t want to walk on but these she has no issues with.

The shipping was so fast which was really nice because I forgot to order until the last minute.

I use these for my 15 year old cat. Sometimes he misses the box. These pads are very absorbent and when wet turns to gel. I just pick them up and dispose of them. I am a repeat customer. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my parents (in their early nineties) who had to give up their pet dog when they moved into Assisted Living and now Memory Care. They missed him more than I could believe. I hoped this JOY FOR ALL puppy would help, but I knew there was a chance it would never make a connection and end up just sitting in the corner.

Instead, it has been a huge hit! They both took to it immediately. My dad said it was an answer to prayer. The variety of motions, the responsiveness to touch and sound, the volume of it’s various barks and sounds (clearly audible but pleasantly soft) — all of it has been perfect.

And despite their tech challenges and memory issues, they have had no trouble remembering how to turn it on and off. They are in love with it, and I am totally pleased.

It’s just TOO CUTE! Very well made and interactive. Wags its tail, turns its head when hears your voice or stroke it, barks(can be muted), even sounds sad if you don’t respond. After a while it “takes a nap” until you “wake it”.

My daughter adores it! She’s named it,Roger. We were going to wait till Christmas to give it to her, but couldn’t hold off until then, so we gave it to her early(now we need a new Christmas present!).

We lost our longtime friend earlier this year and of course it’s been hard on everyone. She has been asking to get a new puppy, so this will definitely fill the void. Even I can’t resist giving him a scratch behind the ear.

Very well made interactive puppy that makes various noises & actions. My Mum loves Cheeky, as do the other residents in her care home. Cheeky creates interest wherever she goes, she is spoken to so much and she obliges by woofing back.

My Mum kindly lends Cheeky to her friend Ethel when shes feeling very distressed & needs to leave to go home to look after her parents. Cheeky will sit on Ethels knee & have such long & happy conversations with a smiling Ethel.

I’ve used this product for 20 years with all my dogs. They do fine with it. The 48 lb bag is quite cumbersome and difficult to maneuvers to dump into a container for a small framed person but that’s to be expected.

I don’t like the new bags that don’t have the red pull string for opening, as it takes a saw to cut through the packaging (just kidding) but I don’t own a knife or scissors that cuts it open easily, so that part is always a pain for me, since they’ve changed the way it open and I can’t peal the glue seal open either.

That’s my only complaint but no one could say it isn’t well sealed when, even, the owner can’t easily get it open. Love the service of having it delivered. Very difficult for me to pick up, load into shopping cart, load from there into car, load from car to storage location to be dumped.

Much easier to come home to it lying on my front porch and dump it into my roller bin from there.

I recently made the switch to purina dog chow from iams adult large breed dog food as our picky dogs just don’t like the flavor of iams and we constantly have to mix in treats to get them to eat. They seemed to immediately prefer the flavor of purina.

My only major concern is that the first ingredient listed is not chicken, but corn, and that this formula contains salt, which most dog owners know can be toxic to dogs in large enough quantities. I’m assuming this additional ingredient is what our dogs loved immediately about Purina’s most basic formula, but I’d caution to not overfeed as this will cause more salt ingestion, or advise purina to remove the salt from their foods.

I also noted the differences in ingredients from Iams. Iams has alot more ingredients, most unnecessary (such as rosemary and carrots) but I’m all for the brewers yeast! At any rate, the switch was in part due to the only nearby store not having large bags of their former food making it super inconvenient to pick a bag up quickly in a pinch.

With 3 large dogs, we use a lot of dog food. And the cost difference isn’t a complaint, it’s half the cost of Iams. I’ll see how they adjust and if they maintain their weight etc in a couple months.

My non-working dogs used to eat the Dog Chow Natural but that food got discontinued. It had good protein and good fat levels that kept them from getting overweight like the rest of the Dog Chow line but it didn’t have the Red 40, Yellow 6, or Blue 2.

I don’t mind plant based dyes. It was suggest by customer service to try this food instead, the Dog Chow Complete, so I bought a smaller bag (20 lb bag) to try with my pack. My dogs like it fine but I still don’t like the dyes and would prefer they change the dyes in the food to be more natural like they did in the Beneful line.

I would switch to the Beneful line of foods but the Dog Chow is more affordable for my pack and they actually prefer it. I did try them on Beneful but they wouldn’t eat it. They would eat Purina ONE but too high in fat for some of them.

Overall I’ll tentatively feed the Dog Chow Complete food. I do trust Purina as a brand and have some hope that they’ll remove the artificial dyes in Dog Chow just like they did for the Beneful line years ago when they reformulated it.

For the dyes I gave it 3 stars because after doing some research found out they removed the dyes from their European lines and don’t see why they can’t do the same in the US.

As a dog trainer for over 20 years, my preferred created has always been the Pet Porters. Until a few years back when they changed the design. At that point, they seemed to put all the money into looks and very little into the durability of the doors.

I use pet porters to potty train from an early age and the doors on the smaller models seems to work just fine. I’ve never had a problem with them. I get to the XL size and they literally fall apart just trying to open them.

I recently took a dog to KK with me with a brand new pet porter and was gone for maybe 5 hours. He was out and the door was broken when I returned. They sent me an article on how to train my dog. This is a dog that is just fine in a wire crate all day, but I had recently bought 3 new pet porters to replace very old ones that were falling apart.

All three no longer have doors. In less than a week. But again, these dogs can be put in wire crates and do not escape. It’s not the dog, it’s the cheap construction of the door. I have replaced many doors just because I opened them and the bars fell out as I did so.

The turn lock doors never had these problems. I’ve sent many friends the link to replace doors instead of having to buy whole new crates because they have the same issues with the XL crate doors. Be aware these crate doors will not hold up.

Invest in something more durable if you have a larger dog.

I guess I can give this crate 2 stars because it works, but the fit and finish are horrible. The gray top is mottled with white areas, edges are sharp enough to cut skin, and the molding process left large amounts of plastic debris attached to the crate.

On the bright side, the manufacturer was able to squeeze an extra penny of profit out of the crate by attaching a cheap label that left glue debris behind upon removal; I spent 15 minutes removing that.

I’d send this product back if I didn’t need it right away.

My 1 year old puppy has broken out of this kennel every day since we bought it. We even ziptied it so she couldn’t escape. She has broken the kennel’s floor to get out. She is only 53 lbs so it didn’t take much effort for her.

She bent the door and van unlatch it with no problem. Does this kennel have a money back guarantee? Otherwise, go spend the money on a higher quality kennel.

This is a great little treat for your dog. Each treat is about the size of an oyster cracker and has only 3 calories. I have an English Labrador Retriever and his name is Charlie Bear! When I first saw this brand, the name caught me eye, for obvious reasons.

Next, only 3 calories got my attention. I buy these in various flavors for my dog and he loves all of them. I highly recommend these because my dog loves them, they help keep him slim and they are very economical.

First time trying this treat. I thought it would be healthy and the label makes it sound flavorful but when I opened the bag I found the pieces are dry, crunchy little buttons. No moisture at all. I gave one each to my dogs and my pekepoo sniffed it then walked away.

My doodle, who usually likes most anything, got it in her mouth then dropped it to the floor. She sniffed it and looked at me as if to say, “There’s no taste. Why is there no taste??” The number one ingredient being WHEAT FLOUR should’ve tipped me off, I guess.

I didn’t have any assembly issues (as others have expressed) but it wasn’t until the Carrier was fully assembled that I spotted the issue with the Top Door. And when I was using it for our cats, the issue became very apparent.

The problem is – the top door only opens just slightly past 90-degrees. a very poor design. Any bumping of the carrier while trying to put your pet into it can cause the top door to fall / close. Or, as you attempt to load your cat or dog into the carrier with their feet / legs flailing around, they can also easily hit the door and cause it to close before you get your pet inside.

So then you have to put your pet down and hold them with one hand, while you try to open the top door with your other hand. The whole idea of the top door is to make it easier to put your pet inside the carrier and this kennel does a poor job with that aspect.

Ideally, the door should open about 135 degrees so that it doesn’t accidentally close while loading your pet. Having a door that opens too far (say, 180 degrees) can be an issue too since you might need to close the door quickly to contain your pet.

but given the choice, I’d rather have it open all the way. The rest of the kennel seems fine, the latches seem secure and fairly easy to operate. But had I known about the top door issue, I would not have purchased this carrier.

I use this for my cat as a carrier and he loves it, it is nice and big so he doesn’t seem as cramped as his old one. In fact, I leave it out in the basement and it has become his “house” when he wants to rest or hide from the other cat.

If you’ve ever felt like a standard carrier was a bit too cramped for your cat this is a nice step up without being overly massive. I love how the top opens so it’s easy to get him in and out at the vet rather than shoving him into a tiny hole (or ripping the top off entirely).

The downsides of this is that the top is screw-on, which may or may not be a negative depending how you use it. My old carrier was snap-together which allowed me to tear it apart and nest the top inside the bottom for storage.

Since I’m leaving it out now that’s less of a problem for me. The other downside is that there’s no seatbelt hook of any kind. You can have the seatbelt go through the handle, or wrap the seatbelt all the way around the front, which is probably less secure in a major crash.

A small plastic notch in the top for a seatbelt would be a no-brainer. I had some trouble finding a good size crate mat. Based on the dimensions given, we started with one that was 18×12. It was simply too small and slid around the inside of the crate.

We got another one that was 22×13. 5 and it fits perfectly, nice and snug. All in all we’re happy with this. It’s very well made, with the exception of the seatbelt hook well thought-out as well.

I changed dry food because they were getting bored with their old stuff, so I decided to try Rachel Ray Nutrish Zero Grain because it’s one of few dry brands that doesn’t contain any chicken anything.

When I opened the bag, I noticed that the color of the kibble is nearly black! It is also very small. I tried it anyway and mixed it with a little bit of the Evanger’s topper. They refused it, so I threw it out.

The next night, same thing. The next night, just dry, no topper. They’re not having it! I’m on a limited budget, but I try to get good quality products for my dogs, and I have one that has a severe allergy to chicken and wheat and wheat gluten, which makes it very difficult for me to find something that he can eat and that they both like, because my female doesn’t have allergies, she’s just extremely finicky! Seriously, what’s a mom to do?.

WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM RACHEL RAY!!! First off, wtf does she know about dog food? Secondly. immediately no. Go ask your vet. They’ll tell you the same thing. RR pet food has been causing some MAJOR health problems and concerns for pets parents all around.

Cats and dogs. There are a ton of chemicals and additives and bad things that are not on the ingredients list found in the food. I was using this kibble for Mars, my 3yr old Chinese Shar Pei, and at first she was fine.

She seemed to like the beef better than the other flavors. But I would find that she would either be severely constipated or have the runs all day. I couldn’t figure out why. My mother is a holistic health coach and did some research and we added coconut oil and water more into her diet.

It helped a bit, but then she started shedding like crazy. And Shar Pei’s don’t shed a lot. So when I finally took her to see her vet, she asked me what her daily/average diet was. Once I mentioned RR, she immediately told me to change her food.

Long story short, her vet texted me some info on RR dog food and I changed her kibble. Almost a month later all that stopped. Her skin started clearing up, shedding like normal, no poop problems. STAY AWAY!!.

I have tried numerous foods trying to help my Doberman with his itchy skin and hot spots. He is downright neurotic if he is having a flare. I had him on purina large breed puppy chow when I got him. He had horrid gas and was loosing hair.

Eventually I tried the Natural Balance Limited Ingredient food. This food helped however it had an abundance of fish oil and my dog began to smell funny and his stools were awful. I looked into some of the Doberman forums and decided to try Purina’s focus large breed food.

His stools firmed up but we were back to the hair loss and hot spots. I decided to try Nutrish grain free Chicken and Sweet potato. Not only does he love it but he is finally itch free. This is excellent food at an excellent price.

My dog loves this food! Within days of switching from a more expensive, boutique brand with ingredients that SOUNDED good, her fur is softer, she is more regular, and no longer produces putrid gas. I’ve gone from the boutique pet food aisle to singing the praises of the science-based Royal Canin! I used to believe the best food for my dog would say on the label that it was high protein, high fat, and contain only animals under the first few of ingredients.

Companies that formulate their food according to this philosophy have been very successfully in marketing this idea. Sadly, marketing firms with no training or background in dog nutrition have NO EARTHLY IDEA what sufficient protein and fat levels are for my dog, or what concoction of ingredients will best nourish her! Their labels under the lens of my own “common sense” only got me so far.

So, how do you pick the best food for your dog? There are no shortage of opinions about this online. As a starting point, I have come to believe it’s best to put my dog’s interests first. Instead of looking for images or ingredients that appeal to ME.

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) has guidelines that help pet owners pick a diet that is most likely to be good for their pet’s long term health. I would urge all dog owners to search for and look at these criteria.

If you are curious who meets this criteria, the Pet Nutritional Alliance has sent survey questions to pet food manufacturers that you can find online. Very, very few brands of dog food keep even one board certified veterinary nutritionist or PhD on staff to formulate their products.

At last count, Royal Canin had NINE (!) board certified veterinary nutritionists on full-time payroll helping formulate and test their products — more than any other brand I could find. Need another reason to take WSAVA guidelines seriously? Despite having a huge market share, none of the brands that meet WSAVA guidelines have been implicated in the FDA’s report of diet-based DCM — a very real, painful, and fatal heart condition.

I don’t believe this is an accident. We’ve all read the internet sites that proport to know what foods are best for your dog. Don’t list to them. Don’t listen to me! Evaluate your dog’s diet based on WSAVA’s guidelines and (preferably) in conversation with a trusted veterinarian.

I think a Royal Canin food consistent with your dog’s size, health, and life stage is a fantastic place to start.

This food is the quality you’d expect from RC. Dogs love the taste, especially when you follow the bags directions and add water to the food. The only downside is that my giant 160 lb. Newfoundland takes a little coaxing to get him to eat the MASSIVE kibble.

It’s literally the size of grilling charcoal pieces. Because of the massive kibble, which causes him to pull each piece out at a time, the floor is littered with little crumbs of dog food whereas the giant junior kibble size was perfect for his giant mouth and left little to no mess.

It’s probably just unique to him though. Another possible issue is measuring in cups with the large pieces. For accuracy in feeding, I’d recommend weighing the food out.

We have a 175-lb almost 5-year-old male Saint Bernard who is NOT a fussy or picky eater by any means. He normally eats the Purina Pro Plan Giant Breed chicken and rice formula, which he has been on ever since we weaned him from puppy food at about 8 months old and he has always done very well on.

When his normal Pro Plan formula was out of stock, we decided to give this Royal Canin a try as a temporary substitute since the ingredients are very similar and it’s also a giant breed formula. Upon receiving our bag, I was blown away by how MASSIVE the kibble was.

Yes, I know this is a giant breed food; however, the kibble size is absolutely ridiculous. It looks more like it’s meant for a Clydesdale. It’s much larger than the Pro Plan Giant Breed kibble. Our Saint would barely touch it.

He did NOT like the size of it and he went several days having hardly eaten because he had so much difficulty chewing such massive kibble. We literally watched him try to chew it and he would finally end up getting frustrated and would spit it out on the floor.

Finally, we were able to get his normal Pro Plan, which he immediately devoured. I really feel that Royal Canin went way overboard when selecting a size for this kibble. Yes, giant sized dogs need larger kibble, but this is insane.

These massive “chunks” are way too much, especially if even a nearly 180-lb Saint Bernard has has hard time eating it! Dial it back a bit, RC!.

My boy has been eating Hill’s Diet food products for most of his life. He was eating Prescription Diet Metabolic and Mobility for a few years, but feeding time was always a chore. He wouldn’t want to eat it unless topped with boiled chicken breast pieces or canned prescription diet food.

It was expensive enough that I hated wasting food (because he’d eat around it), but as it was prescribed, I didn’t want to not follow his vet’s orders UNTIL there were “supply-chain problems” and that food became extremely expensive and unavailable.

I took advantage of that inability to acquire the more expensive prescription diet food and switched almost very abruptly to this slightly-less-expensive food. It’s the only time that I’ve seen him eat dry food voraciously just for the taste of it since he was an actual puppy and ate to please me.

He’s five now and knows what he wants and has no problems expressing himself when he’s not happy. This food makes meal time less stressful. I love hearing him crunching on his dry food, but I also know that I can trust the brand for healthful and nutritious meals.

At first, I worried about abandoning the prescription diet because it has the added supplements for his arthritic joints. But these newly-formulated options also have the Glucosamine and Chondroitin that the vet recommends and, just in case this formula has less than what is recommended for therapeutic levels, he is still taking the supplements with MSM as well.

That, he does to make me happy; he eats this food out of pure joy. Is it the Lamb and brown rice? I don’t know. All I know is that I am not throwing away food anymore.

My senior dog gained weight and was having constipation issues. Even senior formulas have too many calories for her. My vet recommended I put her on a diet food of my choice. Not only would this help her loose weight, and keep it off, but the extra fiber would help her constipation troubles.

For me, it was a choice between this and Purina Pro Plan. I choose this food as it has about 300 cals per cup as well as having a good fiber content. Simply cutting her portions down more wasn’t helpful as she would simply be consuming too little nutrients and feel hungry.

My dog loves the taste of this food. It seems to smell ok to me (for dog food). This food will make your dog have massive poops, but that is great for my dog who needed the extra fiber. Her issues were beyond pumpkin.

After a transition to this food she is very regular. My dog has lost weight after one bag. She is currently almost 3lb down. She wasn’t massively overweight, but her ideal weight is probably about 62-65 and she was a hefty 70! Weight loss in animals can be slow, but even a few pounds makes a massive difference.

She already looks leaner and has more desire to excersize. I’ll probably keep her on this food long term once she is healthy and bump up the serving size to maintenance.

Discontinued my previous senior labs dog food. I trust Hill’s SD with my other 2 dogs so I switched to this. He is transitioning well and enjoys the food. My issue is it WAS only available 3. 5lb and 12.

5lb bag. The 21. 5lb was out of stock. You are paying almost $50 for that 12. 5lb bag and if you have a bigger dog, then your dog food bill just went up a considerable amount. That would have warranted 3 stars BUT THEN I just noticed, they are now out of the 12.

5lb bag as well. So I will either need to re-transition in the middle of a transition or find a new supplier. This is the 3rd time in a few years that my dog food was either discontinued or out of stock and I was forced to switch.

That is getting real old and if I can’t trust Chewy to keep their inventory stocked then I’m going elsewhere.

I have a very healthy 12 year old mix dog that I feed Hills Diet Senior Vitality small bites. She was adopted at 5 months from a shelter with mange and was severely malnourished. She improved rapidly after a few weeks but always had wiry hair texture on her back.

I noticed when we switched to Senior Vitality a few years ago her coat really improved. Looks smooth and thick. Very pretty now. She is active with our puppy, prances when she walks, and still goes easily up and down stairs.

We feed her small bites and she seems to like it and chews it easily.

Our older yorkie was losing interest in food and it was really hard to get her to eat. She has been on the same good quality soft food for a long time, but over the last year seemed to lose interest.

We decided to try topping the soft food with these kibbles, and now she can’t wait for meals, and cleans her bowl out completely. The kibbles are crunchy, which she likes, and small, which makes it easy for her to eat.

We tried so many other things, including human food, and this is the first thing that’s made a difference. She’s putting back on the weight she lost, and very happy!.

When we first got Charlie, he would eat anything, as most growing pups do, and he especially liked canned food. After a while, though, he wouldn’t eat it, not any brand or flavor. We went to dry food, and that worked for a few weeks, but then he turned his nose up and looked at me rather reproachfully.

I started trying other foods, other brands, other forms, and this turned out to be the one he will eat. It’s been several years now, and there are a couple of flavors he likes, but only this type. I don’t care, so long as he eats it and stays healthy.

This version with oats is a lot better than potato-laden grain-free version The Honest Kitchen sells. I do a 50/50 split by volume (it’s like a 25/75 split by calories) between this and Ziwi Peak Chicken.

My dog’s poops are great but a bit more frequent due to the veggies (my vet said this is normal and not to be worried about unless the frequency on a day to day basis varies a lot), and his energy is boundless.

The only downside is that they cheap out on a couple of ingredients, namely Selenium Sodium instead of Selenium Yeast. My puppy did not do well on the grain free version of this – they substitute oats for white potatoes and the order of ingredients is a bit different, too.

If your puppy does have a grain allergy, I would highly advise against the grain free version of this. Similarly, if your puppy does not have a grain allergy, put them on the grain inclusive version of this or look elsewhere.

The only other food I would consider for my dog is Open Farm – they use the yeast form of selenium, too! Only downside with Open Farm is that they use meat meal, but it’s Open Farm so this is likely a healthy and humanely sourced version of meat meal.

Open Farm, Ziwi, and The Honest Kitchen all have great options IMO. Much better than the Dr. Hill, Purina, Kirkland, etc. junk food most people feed their dogs.

I have a picky eater. I’ve tried almost every healthy, high-quality, small breed dog food there is! I’ve found very few to her taste! This is the ONLY dry food that’s small enough & soft enough for my 4lb Maltese to actually be able to eat! Even so, she likes to bring me a few pieces to break into half or quarters for her! LOL! I really wish they’d offer a Toy Breed Blend that’s just this exact same formula, but with pieces that are only a quarter of the size! I give her a dish of this and another of the FreshPet Small Dog Bite-Size twice a day, with plenty of fresh water.

She never just eats all of her food at once, so she needs a dry food to be able to graze on day and night. Also, we live in hurricane country — so a healthy dry food in a small, durable, resealable bag that lasts her a good long while is absolutely essential for evacuations! This fits the bill perfectly – and it’s affordable! TL;DR – The ONLY dry food suitable for a tiny 4lb Maltese! Others are too big, too hard, cause tummy trouble, etc!.

My 2-year-old Lab was diagnosed with liver damage due to toxic ingestion (something he ate). The first indication of a problem was lack of appetite. Correcting this problem is a long process but is working.

He is still being treated but between the liver damage and medications his appetite is less than half of what it should be. While I’m freaking out trying all different things trying to get him to eat (which probably was not helping his stomach) nothing was working.

Long story short I came across The Honest Kitchen and decided to give it a try. My dog took to it immediately (same day turning his nose up at his old food). I mix the dehydrated and the clusters (chicken flavor).

I’m still early in trying this only 1 week, but he is eating and eating full meals twice a day. So I’m hopeful.

I own a super picky Cane Corso. I mean, when it comes to people food he turns his nose up at anything with sugar or anything processed. even meat. Processed lunchmeat. nope. Real ham or loin, beef, chicken yes.

He likes this dog food. After reading the ingredients so do I. A friend of mine was boasting about the dog food he feeds, saying I should try Kane on it. Pedigree High Protein. 27% Protein 12% Fat. First ingredients Ground whole grain corn, meat and bone meal (source of calcium) The next is kind of a meat.

chicken by-product meal ?????? I dont remember a time I fed store food to my dogs but I am shocked people buy it. Read the ingredients of any Taste of the Wild food. It is a known fact wild meat naturally caries a higher vitamin content.

I applaud the makers of this food that they make it available for my dog. Yes, it costs a little more. But my dog is a giant and he has NO joint issues, bone issues, or structure issues. His coat glistens and feels softer than smooth velvet, he is extremely curious and smart as a whip.

I can teach him most things in a few minutes. and his energy level makes it easy to keep him well muscled and in excellent shape. and he likes it.

I used to buy Taste of the Wild from a pet food chain until they suddenly discontinued it – which coincidentally was around the same time that Fleet Farm started selling it. Taste of the Wild was considered to be one of the top high quality brands among all the other expensive featured dog foods at the other retailer.

Now you can get it at a fraction of the cost at Fleet Farm. I am thrilled because this has been my choice of dog food for many years. My dogs never get tired of it. They scarf it down so fast I don’t know how they actually enjoy it – other than their sense of smell.

I buy various flavors to change things up once in a while and one thing that makes my pups super happy is that I top the hard food with Taste of the Wild’s canned food. Just add a teaspoon of that in their bowl and there won’t be one crumb left in the bowl.

Healthy food, high quality, and you will not get a better price anywhere. Don’t buy junk food for you pets. get this product. Your pets will thank you.

All dry food is garbage made from mostly plant material and junk, and disguised as a meat product. That said, I think this one isn’t as bad as most. I think it’s better than some that sell for nearly twice as much.

However, it was one of the many brands of grain-free dog foods that caused congestive heart failure in many thousands of dogs by not providing enough taurine. Taste of the Wild now adds taurine, so I presume that is resolved.

Luckily, I feed my dogs 50% dry and 50% raw meat and organs, so they had plenty of taurine. Most TotW varieties also have a pretty terrible Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. The ratio for dogs (and humans) should be 4:1, but TotW varieties range anywhere from 10:1 to nearly ideal (in 1 variety).

If you feed this food (or almost any food), you should balance the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio with added omega-3s. I use human grade fish oil. Finally, the formula changes almost continuously. Thats true of all TofW dry foods, and many other dry foods.

Each variety used to have at least 4 fresh meat types listed 1st, then meat meal type, then vegetable matter as tubers and legumes, then chicken fat. The brand gradually went through changes that reduced the fresh meat, increased the legumes and tubers, changed the fat sources to suboptimal plant oils (high in omega-6, among other things), replaced good meat protein with questionable “egg product,” and then even that animal protein source with such trash as pea protein, all to increase their profit margin even as the brand has made huge gains in popularity availability which, clearly, already increases profits exponentially.

There really isn’t a good excuse for the decrease in quality, but it happens with every brand of dog food I’ve ever (initially) been happy with. So READ the LABEL on EVERY BAG. Take a picture of the ingredients, and watch for those sneaky changes.

There will soon come a time when Taste of the Wild is just as bad as any other brand, and it’ll be time to find another little company that hasn’t (yet) made profit margins their sole focus.

Canidae was originally recommended by our first dog’s breeder 17 years ago as a top choice of dog food to use. She raised AKC Austrailian Shepherds and well known in our area as a top show dog breeder.

She fed her own dogs with the All Life Stages. Our Austrailian Shepherd lived to be just over 14. She was absolutely wonderful, 100% healthy, energetic, intellegent, a beautiful coat and never an upset stomach.

Much of her health, other than an active lifestyle, came down to great nutrition. Our newest Aussie is also being fed with Canidae and when we ran low and tried a new substitute of a popular brand, she snubbed it.

She could not wait to scarf down what she was missing. So clearly the taste is there. It’s a great brand, good value and even better for those who have multiple dogs and those with dogs of differing ages.

We live on family acreage which includes another Shepherd and she is also on Canidae. Makes it easy.

So I’ve been using this brand since 2012. I was initially attracted that they used only human grade ingredients. This has since changed. They no longer advertise that, and have a whole blog entry on their site about how using human grade ingredients isn’t that important.

Recently noticed my pets’ coats are not as shiny. Came on here and read reviews, saw the reviews about food dust etc. Wow! I’ve noticed the food dust too. So I wrote Canidae and told them that we are all noticing a formula shift.

I advised them they should improve the quality of the food and that I am personally willing to pay MORE for a higher quality food so please start using human grade ingredients and mark the price up a bit if needed.

Got a formulaic “sorry your pet is sick” copy and paste customer service response. Wow, Canidae — is your dog food making so many animals sick you just assume that’s what every message says? That’s.

This dog food is fantastic. WHolesome ingredients, no rubbish fillers, lots of quality supplements including probiotics and good healthy main ingredients. I never notice any problems with the dogs when they are fed this stuff like I with many others (eg skin, ears allergies) and it’s already a reasonable price when bought in bulk but I always manage to be able to get it on special of some kind to make it even more affordable.

I willingly pay extra for my dogs health anyway. I highly recommend it. The main reason it doesnt get 5 stars is that it does have a few too many carbs and its not Aussie made. But it has no wheat & peas are not a main ingredient so those are more important to me.

Well really it is Purina I chose. My 12 yr old Great Dane is not fond of eating and she will eat more Beneful than any other Purina product. But let me get on my soap box a minute. There are all these new brands out there that appear sooooo much more healthy.

There are a lot of things that are not considered by the general public. Purina has spent 50 to 70 years researching the nutritional needs of numerous animals. Years of research and testing. How much of testing have these ‘new companies done? As humans we don’t want to eat any part of the chicken except the meat, but animals in the wild eat everything but the feathers.

So why is ‘chicken meal’ bad? Corn and wheat are the things that dogs don’t eat in real nature. One other thing. I was using one of these new brands and had two dogs need joint surgery (parents had no joint issues).

Just happened to be talking to a large animal vet (ie a ranch community vet ) he told me that he had noticed the large dogs eating Iams and Purina were not having hip and shoulder issues and dogs eating some of the newer brands were.

So I switched to Purina cause my dogs like it best. I have not had to have joint surgery since 2003. This is just my personal experience not a professional test situation, but it is enough for me to keep the faith with Purina.

When we first got our puppy, we were buying her dog food from a bulk big box store. We thought we were getting a larger bag of food at a lower cost. When our dog was leaving her food and eating at irregular hours, I started to worry that she may not be happy with our food choice.

I started to research dry dog foods at other stores and was surprised to learn that we could get the same size bags elsewhere for comparable or lower prices. I knew the Purina brand from a previous pet, and felt good about switching, knowing that it was a better quality food.

Since we switched to Benefuls, our dog is eating at regular times, and emptying her dish!.

By far, this is the best price per pound/ounce for this dog food that I’ve been able to find anywhere- online or in store. I cancelled our Chewy autoship subscription over a year ago when I found this.

Chewy raised the price just before the bag shrunk, so I set out hoping to find a better deal. I do wish that Walmart had an autoship option for these types of items like Chewy and Amazon. Regarding the food itself, our dogs love it.

They’ve had no problems at all due to the food and they are incredibly healthy- neither with any chronic or acute illness or disease. Our GSD has outlived the typical lifespan for GSDs and is a very healthy 15 year old girl and our Pitt-mastiff is a very healthy 8 year old boy.

I remember being completely but pleasantly taken aback years ago at my GSDs first appointment with the veterinarian when he said that he really likes Beneful and thought it was a great choice and he hasn’t changed his mind about it after all these years!.

Simon is 13 and pretty spry but developed some health issues and besides taking him to the vet it was clear that dry food just wasn’t working for him. After a few months he has stabilized and can eat dry kibble again but he gets more wet food than he did previously.

It the past I wasn’t too picky about what I bought, but he was very picky about what he would eat. It was a losing battle, so instead of spending less on food that would end up in the garbage and get nasty as I played the waiting game assuming he’d eat it eventually, I’ve committed to this brand for wet food.

He eats each flavor with gusto and leaves none in the bowl to get funky. It’s such an improvement. (One other he loves is the flaked fish and shrimp from FF, maybe that would also appeal to others’ picky felines.

) I’m sure his preference has to do with the taste, but the very soft texture definitely makes it easier for him to eat. No more searching!.

So far so good. My Stanley is about 14 now and for the last couple years throws up all the time, so I had finally moved after a friend told me to wet food (science diet) he did a lot better. However the last couple weeks he was throwing up more, not hairballs but throwing up with mucas and stuff, so the other day spotted this food and thought why not.

It has been a week and we are doing good. He hasn’t thrown up at all. I would feel bad if I was to find out he had a grain allergy his whole life. Poor guy. Either way he is clearing his bowls and hasn’t seem to barf at all this week.

I often wonder if he gets enough food, I may try their dry food and leave some down during the day too. Right now he he using the wet cans.

After my pregnant mother being dumped, luckily at the farmstead of a kind animal lover, my mistress (and very special human) rescued my brother and me. all it took was for me to put my front paw through the kennel door and pull her hand to my jowl.

I just love a good caress of my face! Clever on my part, don’t you think?! I am a handsome, active, well loved & cared for 16 year old black domestic shorthair. I really like that their supplements are just as easy to give to a small dog as they are to the larger dogs, plus if I need to they crumble well! They smell almost like a roasted Chicken stock, didn’t stain my hands, 9 out of 10 really like them, 1 I did have to crumble in her dinner! Though I was provided a container for review purposes, I have already ordered, as well as add these to the packs favorites.

I received a free sample of PetHonesty 10-for-1 Multivitamin Chicken Flavored Soft Chews All-In-One Supplement for Dogs with Glucosamine, Probiotics, and Omegas. We have 3 dogs. A 7 year old Jack Russell/Pug mix named Neville, a 6 year old Black Mouth Cur named Luna, and a 4 year old Pug mix named Sirius Black (we are big Harry Potter fans in our home, hence their names).

Our dog Luna had an Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery to her left hind leg. Her breed is predisposed to suffering from hip dysplasia and arthritis. Her veterinarian advised us to be proactive and give her supplements that maintain her mobility and support the health of her joints.

We had been giving her Cosequin Plus MSM Joint Health Supplements. It’s a problem though, because she has to eat 2 of them and she doesn’t like the taste. She’ll often spit them out or requires lots of coaxing to take them.

We also have to cut those pills in half for our smaller dogs. We were very eager to try PetHonesty 10-For-1 Multivitamin. Not only does this supplement contain glucosamine which helps support bone, joint, and hip function, it also provides them with essential minerals and nutrients to help promote optimal health.

Ok, we got ours today, unboxing and assembly were super easy. We have a good cordless but with a border collie and two cats in the home something more powerful was needed as well. Right out of the box this vacuum made us very happy! It is much quieter than we expected, and has A TON of suction! I started out on a floor that i had gone over with the cordless earlier in the day, and the bissell was immediately grabbing hair and dirt I could not see.

as I moved around into a different room I could actually see pet hair coming across the floor towards the towards the vac head! The biggest and most pleasant surprise came when I used the pet attatchment on one of the sofas.

in the past bought “pet” vacuums, but none of the pet heads ever worked. the pet head that comes with this vacuum worked very, very well. You have to let it spin up, and then use it should go without saying that you have to use it with short pulls and thus allow it too stay spooled up, and holy cow did it ever work great! did two couches with it in a very short period of time, and I was pleasantly surprised upon inspection that not one bit of hair was would around the roller! there was a ton of that pet hair in the bin though! The bin is super easy to remove and dump, the rewind works exactly as it should, the function buttons are easy to see and use, the edge cleaning capability is better that I have ever seen before in a vac, the unit is light, easy to move around, and has a generous amount of cord.

Now to be fair, this is a day one review, but I have to say I have seen a few negative reviews, (very few) that just don’t add up based on what I’ve seen today. first off, its not a small cordless, and therefore it does not have a tiny low profile beater head.

but overall its low enough to get under most cabinet fronts, (at least at the edge) and coupled with the excellent edge suction thats pretty good. Overall this is a great buy for the price!.

My babies absolutely LOVE these treats! They’re the perfect size for every size of dog and at approximately only 4 calories per treat, I don’t feel bad using these between meals. There’s plenty of other positives, too, like omega-6 fatty acids, real meat with no by-products, and doesn’t include any Red 40 or propylene glycol.

Plus, this bag is priced well especially for the size! I love using these to help our newest addition learn commands while also using them to keep my other babies on their toes (and make sure they don’t feel left out).

Overall, amazing treats!!.

My dog loves Blue Buffalo Co. Blue Chicken sticks. I am very careful on what I feed her and she can’t have other products have made her very sick. She enjoys Blue Buffalo and I am happy to give her a treat that is a healthy reward worth fetching for as they have no meat by products or propylene glycolred 40.

Blue Buffalo starts with high quality chicken as the first ingredient unlike other dog treats. It is a bit more pricer than other dog treats but those made her sick. My dogs health is my my concern and spending a few dollars more is worth it to me knowing I am taking good care of her.

I recommend having your dog trying Blue Buffalo Stix Chicken as well.

These are super soft and easy for my pup to eat. Perfect size for a reward to a small task. So good for training somewhat. I got these because I already love this brand and my puppy is a husky and I know salmon is a fave among most of the other huskies that I know.

I took off one star because (I can’t personally speak on the taste for obvious reasons) but my puppy just doesn’t get very excited for these compared to other treats we have bought. I’m not sure if it’s the flavor or what.

I will be purchasing a different flavor next time to see if that changes things.

just started showing signs of early arthritis. He has been holding his one paw up at times, more so when it’s been cold outside. So I was on the internet, for so many hours, on and off, trying to find a supplement to help.

I was trying to avoid the medicinal route, as far as prescription drugs etc. (not saying we won’t get there some day). But I really feel that these soft chews have everything you could need to aid in the protection and prevention, and even treatment of joint and mobility issues.

I love that the ingredients are all known, things I have heard of, AND are natural. That’s important to me, and I imagine to others as well. And what’s probably most comforting is that they are vet formulated! I just find that really encouraging because they’re the experts and I feel we can trust a product backed by and formulated by veterinarians.

As far as our personal experience with these, we are still finishing the container we have (3 a day for our Jake’s weight), so I can’t say long term how we are doing, but I do think they help because we have been consistently giving them to him and I don’t see him favoring that paw as much.

I also can say that the flavor must be really appealing to dogs because right from the start, he never turned his nose up at them and ate them quickly each time. They smell good, actually, not like medicine or vitamins, so I think they definitely got it right with the flavoring for these.

We had no upset tummy or diarrhea starting these, or even now. Overall, very pleased with these soft chews, and planning to make them a regular part of our dog’s wellness routine.

I own an 11 or 12 year old pit bull mix (shelter dog; we don’t know for sure how old she is) who, thanks to a torn CCL in youth and subsequent arthritis, has definitely slowed down the past year.

I haven’t had a great experience so far with mobility treats (the brand I tried prior to this one she flat out refused to eat), and while she doesn’t like these given on their own, she will eat them willingly if I put them in her food.

I was initially going to give these 3 stars and say that I hadn’t seen any difference in her mobility or energy level. but tonight, a friend came over who hadn’t seen her in a couple of weeks (since right before I started giving my dog the chews, in fact), and my friend commented how much livelier my dog was.

At one point my dog broke into a run (we were on the street) and my friend said, “Whoa! I haven’t seen that before!” So I gotta bump up to 4 stars and I’m definitely going to keep my dog on them for the time being.

I will also add that I came home this afternoon and asked my pooch if she wanted to go out, but she was snoring loudly and didn’t react. I was happy; It’s been awhile since she’s slept that deeply; I think she’s been too achy.

So I also have to be cautiously optimistic that the chews are helping reduce inflammation, too. I like that the product contains turmeric; it gets recommended as a potential anti-inflammatory supplement, but I don’t feel safe adding it into my dog’s diet myself.

I very much trust PetHonesty to make sure it’s at a safe and effective level in their chews, so win-win.
