20 Best Amp For Bass Guitar (2022 Updated)

This is my third Rumble V3 bass amp that I have purchased and the 200 is my favorite. I also own the Rumble 100 and also owned a Rumble 500 combo which I had sold because I wanted to get a new bass guitar instead.

I actually prefer the sound of fifteen inch speakers over the tens. The Rumble 200 is surprisingly loud since it is only 120 watts without an extension cabinet. The fifteen inch speaker sounds clear and warm and is the same speaker used in the Rumble 115 extension cabinet which is rated at 300 watts continuous power.

The speaker is a Chinese-made Eminence but don’t let that deter you from getting this amp. It sounds great and is well matched to the cabinet and amplifier. It also has a HF horn but I keep that off since there are plenty of highs from the speaker itself.

I play fingerstyle and don’t do any tapping or slapping since most of the songs that I play doesn’t require it. The amp section has a 4 band EQ with 3 voicing buttons for Bright, Contour (mid-scoop) and the Vintage which I like and sounds good at lower volumes but will self-adjust as the volume is increased.

It adds a nice warmth with some low-end boost and high-end cut with additional compression. The voicing buttons can be used in any combination. The DI is post-EQ only and does not have a level control but works well and sounds good.

It also has provisions for a headphone or plugging in a MP3 player for jamming along with recordings. There’s also an effects send and return and footswitch jack if you want to control the overdrive that way which can also be operated with the button on the control panel.

I don’t use the overdrive which isn’t too bad at lower levels but don’t expect it to sound like an all-tube bass amp cranked up. The cabinet is relatively compact and considered lightweight at about 34 pounds.

Great amp for low to moderate playing situations.

Having been a bass player for 50 years I have used them all, and I have used Peavey and Fender mostly. I tested this 200W 15″ and the 500W – 2-10″ combo when I set out to buy a new amp. I read all the reviews on here and I have to say that some miss the mark.

Forget about watts and power; this amp is really loud and very deep in bass. It will fill any bar or hall you can play with a great deep sound. The three selection buttons on here DO make a difference in the sound.

The vintage produces a fatter deeper sound than just the normal mode. Without this, the bass is weak, even on full 10 setting. It does sound a lot like the old 4-12″ cabinet I used to use in the 70-80’s period.

It can do any style of music you play. From Jazz to Acid Rock. You can do smooth or slap with this amp/combo. The groups I play with do all forms of music, and do all kinds of venues from raucous bars to wine tastings, so I needed an amp that would perform in every situation and this one did it.

The other selection button that I use is the contour. I really like this setting when I have to fill a loud bar setting with deep bass. The contour setting adds the deepness to every string on my 4 string bass.

I hate having deep bass only on the E and A strings. Then when playing on the D and G strings, it comes up a little skinny and bright. With the contour setting on you get the deep bass of the E string even on the G string.

So this opens up the fret board a lot. You can go all across the neck at the G 3rd fret and stay in that 2 fret area and play the scale of G in a deep warm tone, instead of moving up and down E and A strings to find that tone.

The one setting on the amp that I like the most is the the Low Mid knob. Now you can bring up the deeper tone for the A and D strings without making the mid-range come out hollow sounding. This is a big improvement over the Peavey amps I have now and have used in the past.

Purchased a Rumble 200 about six months ago. I don’t play in a band and use this amp at home only to this point. I didn’t play other amps in it’s price range and yet I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase.

It’s lightweight, straightforward and sounds great. I play a G&L JB-2 Tribute which I bought the same day as this amp. Would recommend both to anyone looking for a nice setup under $1k.

I have used this head separately with a 12″ 4 ohm cab and a 15″ 8 ohm cab at two band rehearsals. More than enough to keep up with a full band and reasonable hitting drummer for pop/soft rock. I have no doubt that live in pub venues it will be fine, maybe just a little out into a p.

a for bar/small clubs. I might try with two 8 ohm cabs linked at some point. It’s very compact, and simple to use, and although I bought it as a gig spare, it’s so much better than just being a back up.

Great price, nice little carry bag, a good looker too! Well worth the money.

i bought this because im quarantined in my girlfriends apartment and i didn’t have an amp head with a headphone jack. i had been curious to hear one for a while so this was my excuse to finally buy one.

the build quality is very good and i was actually blown away by the tone, both through the headphones, and through a speaker cabinet. i wasnt sure if the “trace elliot sound” was for me but i actually found it very pleasant.

big fat bass and a crunchy upper mid. honestly its not far from the “ampeg sound” so its not too hard to like. obviously the portability is great and hilarious. it really does fit in your jacket pocket.

in terms of power, i think that its plenty loud enough to tackle most peoples idea of a low to medium loud gig. obviously its not going to cut it with your thrash metal band, but with an nice efficient cab i would feel confident taking it to a cafe jam or acoustic backup or even pub gig no problem.

my complaints are that both the volume and gain have some pretty severe shelving at the bottom of their range, so its not really possible to, for example, dime the gain and feather in the master volume for more crunch.

even if you’re just trying to play super duper quiet, the level controls are very finicky down there. the amp seems to be happiest with all knobs at noon. the other complaint is that the fan motor is extremely sensitive, to the point that every note you play causes the fan to wind up, and if you rest for a second, it winds down again, the overall effect being that the fan is constantly changing speeds, going up and down.

this happens even with just the headphones plugged in, so that the other person in the room just hears this robotic wheezing sound. it wouldn’t be a problem live but it might not work for recording quieter things with a microphone.

it would be better if the fan stayed at a constant rate. it would also be very handy for this kind of head to have a aux in. all in all im very happy to own this amp despite its quirks.

I compared The ELF directly to a friend’s Trace Elliot smx gp12 (not in production for decades), the original thing. I am used to the smx’s tone, loving it, listening to it every week for years. They do sound somewhat different, but only slightly.

Both have that clear yet warm sound. Used the same Trace Elliot 4×10 and 1×18 tower, top of the line at the time, loaded with custom Celestion speakers made for Trace Elliot for these cabs specifically.

The ELF has the warmth of the smx, and a very similar tone footprint. The smx has a bit more depth and detail to me, but only by a hair. You have to really look for the differences they are so minor.

Still it is a full fledged big Trace Elliot sound with the ELF. I like the simplicity of this small amp. There are so many things that you could put in the ELF, (mute button, etc. ) but nothing crucial.

This is a good all rounder, having a very well designed EQ, only 3 knobs, but at the right frequencies. The success of this amp is somewhat surprising as most bass forums are based in the US with a natural bias to the local products they know, use and love.

Any gear that comes out there is already having an understandable advantage over a former British company that most people never tried. So the ELF started somewhat against the wind. I think the reason for the success is that the ELF just does not sound like a D class amp, it just sounds like a traditional amp should, no digital coldness.

An engaging tone easy to love. The ELF does not fit in your pocket unless you have one of those military pants with large side pockets at the thigh, but it really does fit into a gig bag easily. I live on the continent purchased the ELF from the UK (same EU 230V voltage, different plug) and was prepared to use a local cable or fit a new plug at the end of the cable, but came with both cables, what a pleasant surprise.

Finally about how loud it is. Very. The ELF drove the 4×10 and 1×18 (4 Ohms together) to deafening sound pressure with ease, volume knob at 25% using a passive bass. Lots of power reserve, I cannot imagine these real 200 watts are not enough except stadium concerts.

If you are not loud enough you need more speakers (surface pushing the air) and not more watts.

So far, I’m loving this amp. Using it as a practice amp at home. Sounds fantastic and you can really dial in the tone. Haven’t messed with the tone studio yet, but will eventually. I recommend this amp.

This thing is great it has every function you could need. It has plenty of power don’t let the 160 watts for you it bumps just as hard as most 500s. Has more features that you can use.

The band I’m in plays Hard Rock/Metal. Got this as a backup to my SVT 7 pro. Loved it but started having problems so I tried out the BB800 at the next rehearsal. I use 1 sometimes 2 Markbass Ninja 122 cabs.

Power & clarity for an amp head at any weight were just awesome! Love the simple 2 knob EQ for easy dialing in of tones. When I need a specific sound, I leave the EQ flat and use it as a power amp and use a preamp for the sound I want (Sansamp, Subway, MXR, Darkglass, MB60, etc.

) or just add on an EQ pedal. Handles 2ohms no problem and it’s ready to travel to work in any voltage in any country without having to modify the interior electronics. All you need is the correct IEC power for that countries voltage and you’re ready for a world tour.

Not to mention you don’t need a flight/anvil case for travel! Sling it over your shoulder, stick it in a backpack/duffle bag or even your suitcase. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to get flight cases for your cabs, lol.

I’m so happy with it and although I’ll probably never need it, I just got another BB800 as a backup to my current main, the BB800.

I have a mixed review. I originally bought this amp because of the great reputation QSC products have had over the years under Pat Quilter’s leadership – well-designed, highly-regarded products at a reasonable price, especially in the amplifier category.

In the months I’ve used the Bass Block, it’s been reliable and works without strain when I connect two cabinets, one at 4 Ohm and one at 8. That’s a load of at least 2. 67 Ohm, which is impressive. It never heats up, never shuts down.

Bottom line: this amp has been bulletproof. The amp is light – about 15 pounds lighter than the class AB amp Eden Highwayman 500 I’d been using. Before purchasing, I spoke with Pat at the Quilter booth at the 2019 NAMM Show.

He explained the tone controls, which are quite different than the usual 4-band passive or semi-parametrics you find on other units. In over 20 gigs with a number of different cab configurations with and without horn tweeters, and both active and passive basses, it has been a challenge to get the tone I need from this amp – it seems skewed toward a bassy/midrangey tone with no ability to juice up the treble.

(I play classic rock in a club band, use my fingers mostly, and a pick on a few tunes) For example, when I play my Rick 4003, I can only get that clanky Rick tone if I bypass the amp’s preamp section and use an outboard preamp that has more traditional tone controls.

With that said, the roundish tones I can get from this unit are good; I’m just disappointed that either the unit is unable to provide the treble definition I want, or I’m unable to figure out how to get it with this amp.

On the industrial design side: the amp chassis feels one step from finished – sharp folded edges stick out (versus, say, the smooth packaging you find in a GK or Genzler head. ) From a marketing perspective, I wouldn’t have applied the graphic of a caution sign (red stripes) to the top of the amp, and the word “block” in the product name, think “verb.

After hearing all the buzz on the internet about this amp, I started having a serious jones to want to try one of these amps! My old SWR had seen better days, and it was time to retire it. So, what does the price of admission get you? A 4 lb amplifier with 800 WATTS of power, that looks unlike anything I’ve seen in quite a while.

Styling is VERY distinctive. The thing is a tank! You could probably drop this on the ground or throw it out of the back of a truck and it’ll probably still function without issue! Packing includes a well-built carry bag, a locking IEC power cable, a user’s manual, and the latest product catalog for just about everything Pat and his team make/outsource/sell under the Quilter banner.

Of course, the amp is the main attraction, and is very securely wrapped up! Setting up the amp takes about 10 seconds; plug in the locking power cord and plug it into the wall A/C( Duh!) , attach the speaker cable to one of 1/4 jacks (or the single Speakon), twiddle the DEPTH and CONTOUR EQs, turn it up, and rawk! I can say without hesitation that the Quilter Bass Block 800 HAS THE BEANS TO MAKE YOUR CAB (AND YOUR GIG) COME ALIVE ANEW! I couldn’t get the amp past the first two or three clicks on the MASTER without it being just a little TOO LOUD in my Studio (aka, the hallway of my house! LOL).

While the DEPTH and CONTOUR controls might not be as aggressive an EQ as some other amps, the Quilter Bass Block 800 actually is a great sounding amp. It takes upstream effects VERY WELL (Keeley Bassist and Ampeg SCR-DI), has punch and focus for days, and can make your speakers (and yes, I’m pretty sure, even the venerable Ampeg SVT810) beg for mercy while you contemplate the bass breaks of YYZ.

I am a beginner to bass guitar & I had no idea what amplifier to purchase. I stumbled across this amplifier & contacted their live web chat service to find out more details & other recommendations & they were so so helpful with the technicalities of the product & alongside mentioning other things I can purchase to get started on my journey.

The amplifier is such good quality & makes my bass sound fantastic, plus no neighbours have complained about the noise so that’s always positive! Very decently priced too, very lucky to purchase it at a discounted price.

The delivery was so quick, I ordered on Sunday with an estimated delivery on Thursday but it arrived on Tuesday, I was really impressed! GuitarGuitar have been so helpful & lovely from the start to now, I will not go anywhere else to buy guitar supplies in the future.

I bought this amp as it had been recommended to me for beginner bassists and I couldn’t agree more. For the price, the sound quality and play experience is very good, it manages the full range on my bass without distorting the sound even at high volumes.

The basic EQ options work well too and give me better control than the inbuilt settings on my bass. I haven’t used this with any pedals so I can’t comment on how it would cope with a full range of effects, but it’s great for at home practice.

It’s also fairly small and light so I don’t have any trouble hefting it around to set up.

I got this little amp for practicing song sets with our church’s Praise Team. That is to say I practice at home and play along with videos or CDs. I don’t feel like moving my 300+ pounds of Acoustic stack into the stereo room which also doubles as a workshop of sorts.

This amp is a lightweight at about 16 pounds and is very easy to move around the house if need be. As for the sound, it has 15 watts and an 8-inch speaker. If you want to get big, booming bass out of it, I’m going to laugh in your face — repeatedly.

I don’t want to blast my neighbors with my Conklin 7-string either, so this bass is all and everything I want and need for my purposes. I think the price is very reasonable. I’m also trusting the Fender name to mean something in the reliability zone, too.

These amps are absolute beasts for thier size and price. USB direct recording and digital interface. The “5150” or 6505 is a gain monster along with the xxx , put a tube screamer and watch it go. also Handel’s bass and acoustic.

Very cool little amp. Don’t expect tube amp sound out of something this small and cheap it is a practice amp and a modeler. not a mesa dual or high end tube amp. Definitely better than your average spider or I.

d core. Etc. It is what it states and does a great job for the price higly recommend.

I bought this new at a local music shop. I had a tight budget and I wanted something with built in effects. I regretfully was willing to sacrifice fidelity for fun extras. I thought that I might play with the different amp models and effects combos to get a better idea for future purchases.

I was wrong. Buying a digital amp like this was a mistake. It has a very low ceiling on its sound. To much bass muddies everything up and completely ruined the sound, which is ridiculous considering that this thing is advertised as a bass and acoustic amp.

It handles bass catastrophically bad. The app makes things a little fun, since the physical interface is a bit intimidating. You get used to it very quickly, but it’s no fun to navigate. Using the app allows for much easier adjustments, until it inevitably crashes, over and over.

I thought my old guitars just weren’t up to scratch with this new amp, until I got a new Les Paul, and realized the amp was making everything sound terrible. I pulled my old solid state Traynor TS-15 out of storage to compare, and there was no doubt.

This old, scratchy, falling apart, 15 watt solid state amp blew this new thing out of the water. It was night and day. I’m selling this one and saving up for a tube amp. Maybe a Blackstar or Laney.

I have been playing guitar for at least 24 years, and this amp is very useful for my purposes. I already had bigger amps and a very nice multi-effects pedal, but I needed something easier to travel with than my home studio rig.

This amp has a wide range of capability in terms of having effects, good amp models, stereo headphones capability, USB connectivity for PC recording, Aux In capability, built in tuner, and last but not least: It’s the only amp series I know of that is actually designed and marketed as an amp to play electric, acoustic-electric, and bass guitars.

I play all 3 types of guitars, so this amp series was the perfect travel amp for me. I will say though that the acoustic-electric amp models were the least impressive to me as the sound is not as loud and powerful sounding as it is when using electric or bass guitar.

Also another thing is that when the bass or acoustic-electric input preset bank is selected, it locks you into just those types of amp models depending on which input you’ve selected, where as when electric is selected everything is available.

I also find that some of the effects are limited for the bass and acoustic-electric guitars. This amp is best with electric guitar, but it does ok with acoustic-electric, and when playing bass guitar this little 20 watt/8″ speaker really puts out nice, thick, and powerful bass sound.

The amp’s cabinet does have a rattle on certain notes sometimes when you have your bass guitar’s volume cranked. It will rattle sometimes with electric guitar as well. It may just be that I have a factory defect with my amp, but I almost kind of like the rattle with the bass so I’m not worried about it personally.

This amp was very reasonably priced to the point that I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a nice travel sized practice/recording amp for various types of instruments. I would also highly recommend it for anyone looking for a beginner’s practice amp especially for electric guitar.

I play bass guitar in a band and this is the amp that I normally use for shows. Granted, we normally play small indoor venues but this also works really well for outdoor venues and my bass can be heard really well in the mix.

It’s really versatile and I love how it sounds (I play both an Ibanez and a Hofner bass for reference) and it’s really warm and full. I tend to use the vintage and bright settings the most, but the overdrive is solid and it has a great sound quality.

Also these things are super durable. During a performance I forgot that I was using a 10 foot cable instead of my normal 20 foot and I knocked it down several steps and smashed a flower pot. Anyway the amp was totally fine, we picked it back up and I was able to finish out the set with no problem.

Fantastic amp for someone who is starting out on bass and needs something super reliable but fantastic-sounding.

A great little amp. It’s unbelievably light – much lighter than my previous bass amp which is half the size and only 40 watts. The sound is great and it has lots of tone controls so you can get exactly the sound you want.

It has bags of volume – enough for most small hall and pubs gigs. I also love the options such as vintage, contour and bright push buttons. I use the vintage option a lot. I bought the foot pedal separately and it is useful for the boost/overdrive facility.

All in all, a very nice amp at a price that will not break the bank. Highly recommended.

This amp is gig-ready right out of the box with all the bells (and some whistles) a bassist wants-plenty of wattage, on-board, intuitive EQ, compression dial, and a tube drive for warm distortion that can cut through a heavy rock mix up front.

Sound: This amp sounds incredible out of the box, extremely warm with a crisp tube tone offering Mesa like clarity with a stable response from the power section Features: “The Bright Switch” kicks any amp into “Modern Mode” allowing for the Mids of any instruments to shine through the mix.

Tube warmth is lost in compensation for clarity. The limiter seems to cut the power section while adding a transparent compression allowing users to dial the amp volume to max without blowing a cab speaker.

Without being too flashy. This amp lets the audience really admire the total bandwidth of the Class A EQ by not advertising it It just sounds good. Overall: 10/10.

The Vox AC10C1 is everything I was hoping it to be. The amp has more than enough volume & gain on tap for home use, recording and small gigs. I’ve tried voxy type pedals that don’t even compete with the AC10.

I love this amp. You’ve got to have that specific Vox tone in mind, and I would recommend something else as a first tube amp if your after versatility, but for that signature Vox tone this things perfect.

I don’t color this amp with pedals, there’s no reason to. Plays well with all of my guitars and looks so classy. LOUD for 10 watts, with a lot of very useable tones. I love this thing with telecasters the most.

The gain knob sounds good at low volumes but to be honest, this amp wants to be cranked at a reasonable level. If your just a home player and are on the fence between the AC15 or the AC10, just pull the trigger on the AC10, you won’t feel as if it’s lacking.

She’s a keeper for life, highly recommended.

I was looking for a tube sound without the excessive weight. This Amp is fairly warm, and when paired with a tech 21 para driver it has a nice fat sound. After speaking to a representative with GK I was sold on this amp.

Horna je vypínatelná, countour je pro mě na nic – je to jen gombík, není plynule nastavitelný, limiter funguje, ekvalizace gud.

Punchy sound GK tam je a za ty prachy to opravdu hraje. trochu boří mýtus, že co neváží to nehraje – tohle hraje a ještě při stěhování auta mám nejlehčí věci v kapele, a když si to stoupne mezi bubeníka a 100W lampáč se 4×12, pořád se slyšíte a duní (s 2.

bednou). Nastavte gain, volume a GIVE gombíkem tomu tónu dejte drive a není co řešit. Maximálně si fajnšměkři poladí trochu korekce – GK Eq. za 1. Pokud srovnáváme jeho váhovou kategorii, tak v této ceně nemá prakticky konkurenci, Markbassy jsou dražší, ale respekt, ostatní těžší, nebo hůře hrající.

prostě dobré kombo je to. Pak už je jen jejich RBH série, což doporučuji velmi, ale to váží 2x tolik a stojí taky 2x tolik. to už jinde jsme, to je jiná vesnice.

I received my MG350 about a month ago. I wanted to get some mileage on it before posting a review. I generally don’t review equipment. I’m making an exception here. Prior to my purchase Genzler provided excellent pre-sales answers to a few concerns I had.

Their responses were almost immediate, honest, and confident. The amp is everything everyone said it would be – I don’t recall seeing anything less than 5 stars when researching this head. The tone is whatever you want it to be.

In my case both warm and punchy through a custom 2 x 10 cabinet. Plenty of power and presence when playing in a full band situation. I have no regrets!.

The Magellan 350 is a highly portable, great sounding amp that ticks all my boxes. It’s warm but not too colored, has great EQ points and is very responsive to adjustments, easy to operate (plug n play), has two personalities with the shape switch that brings forth both modern and vintage tones in varying degrees.

It looks great, is very well built and has heft to the notes that you wouldn’t expect from a mid powered unit. And it gets loud! It can also handle a 2. 7 ohm load so you can run three 8 ohm cabinets.

Some amps become tiring over time. But the little Genzler has truly gotten under my skin. The reasonable price is the icing on the cake. Highly Recommended!.

I’m an experienced gigging bassist; in five bands over a 30-year timespan. I’ve been through my share of superior bass amps, therefore. Lately I’ve made the switch to (lighter) class D heads, disappointed with all except my (expensive) live performance amp.

I also record at home and in our band’s drummer’s studio. The disappointment was due to fan noise, which impacted recording at lower output levels. I had positive experiences with Acoustic’s B100 combo, but a lot of musicians here (and on Talk Bass) had issues with Acoustic heads, fan noise being a common one.

I bumped into the Acoustic B300HD at a GC on clearance, so I just bought it to put it through its paces at home. Yes, it’s a powerful bass amp with wonderful tone adjustments plus an effective onboard compressor-essential to my recordings-with virtually no fan noise.

Beyond that I’m impressed by the simple design, the ruggedness of the control knobs and switching selectors, and the helpful lighting display. except that Acoustic could have gone the extra mile and provided lighting for control knobs; being black determining their positions will be a bit difficult when on stage (for those of you interested in performing in clubs, etc), but I didn’t buy it for that purpose.

I can’t comment on reliability, so I can’t recommend it based on that. To sum: Very capable, powerful and tweakable bass head suitable for gigging and recording. Because of this and the modest price tag (and nearly zero fan noise!) I rate it at five stars.

This is a really great bass amp upgrade if you started out with a lower-end unit. Or it could also be a great bass amp to start out with if you have a bigger budget. With careful dialing in of the on-board parameters and some post-production EQ/compression, this amplifier seriously saturates my songs in beautiful heavy bass.

It’s quite portable, but not the most portable bass amp. Still fits in my guitar’s gig bag though. Honestly I really don’t know what else to say. This thing’s da bomb. Give it a look.

My first bass amp was thru an electronics book in 1966. It had 10 Watts. From there I have played thru them all, including Marshall Stacks and 2k amps. This time I was looking for something cheap, clean, and made the sound I wanted to hear.

So after 2 hours of playing every amp they had, I chose this head and the BN 210 cabinet. Unbelievable sound for that price. I play serious music with serious musicians and they love this unit. The deep lows to the sustained treble highs, it all works like a system that sells for much more.

With the addition of the 2-10 cabinet you get twice the wattage without paying more. I tried the same head into the Accoustic single 15″ cabinet, and it lost its punch and the tone was weak. I play different kinds of music.

I play with a blues quartet, a rock quartet, a ’50’s 6 piece, and a country quartet. This amp and speaker system will fit the bill for every one of those styles and every place we play. Just mike it into a giant pa for more coverage at fairgrounds or something.

But for the average bar/lounge setting, this is all you will need.

Overall: I started with AMPEG in around ’74 ish, when I was in the ARMY 101st, ( I was drafted in ’72 ) and I was playing with a band called “The Darwin Finch Band”, and my Tremolux took a dump and had a bunch of gigs around the base and walked in a music store in Clarksville Tn.

and asked what was the biggest amp. they had, and the sales man said. This AMPEG B25B with its two 15″ speakers in a separate speaker box. I’ll take it. You see. I had to compete with the other guitar player in which he had an ORANGE head and cab, at first I didn’t like the sound of the speakers of he Ampeg, so I swapped out the speakers for some JBL 15″ the drummer had.

I recuperated the head that I left in N. C. but the cab was ruined in a fire. I took the head to Venezuela and that thing I used in a band down there ( The Jack Parrish Band” and the caps took a dump and the transformer was ruined and had a guy down there re wire to its specs.

I had to leave the head down there because of political reason and didn’t want fool around with the weight of shipping it back to the good’ol USo’A. I got. The White one.

I’ve finally got all the tone choices I could ever want. I have a small Ampeg SVT-CL micro amp/cab which sounded fine but I wanted something a lot louder so I could retaliate against noisy, obnoxious neighbors.

I also wanted more tonal flexibility and the 3pro has it. I paired it to an SVT-410HLF cab and couldn’t be happier. I was recording with a DI and tried all the popular amp sims and nothing had the transient response and midrange to cut through a mix like the real thing.

I LOVE THIS AMP!!! I got it for mainly for recording but wanted enough power to play out if need be. Problem solved. It’s loud enough to rattle the doors and paintings in my whole house from my well treated room and that’s just what I wanted.

Since I mainly use it for recording it’s really shown it’s versatility. I record a LOT of different genres and it has the flexibility to handle everything I’ve thrown at it. One issue. the fan is VERY noisy so I have to baffle with gobos and blanket tent the cabinet when recording.

I keep the amp as far from the cab as my current 10′ speaker cable will allow. I even ordered a brand new replacement fan but it’s exactly as noisy, no difference whatsoever. I’m going to swap out with a 50′ speaker cable so I can put the amp in an iso room.

If the amp didn’t sound so good and wasn’t so loud I would have knocked a point off for that but it’s tone changing abilities out-way that for my needs. Make sure you pair it with a 4 ohm cabinet instead of an 8 or you won’t get full power from it.

If it ever dies and I can’t fix it, I’ll get another without hesitation. it’s that good.

Stumbled across the 3pro shop soiled at a bargain price. When I got to the store the salesman told me it was floor stock but was pretty sure no one had plugged into it. At almost 1/2 retail price I figured if I didn’t like it I could easily get my money back.

Let me tell you this amp is amongst the best I’ve owned. My only regret is I hadn’t discovered this years ago. I still own a Fender Super Bassman 300 and GK MBF 500. The SB 300 is now for sale and the GK is now used as a backup and I’ve also purchased a rack case to protect the 3pro.

I’ve just played a 3 gig weekend in 3 different bands, using 3 different basses, SR5, Fender customshop J with flats and Standard Am Precision, playing 3 different genres from soft to hard rock, soul, Funk, and couldn’t be happier with the volume and tone across the spectrum of styles covered.

This amp has exceeded all expectations and am so impressed I’ll be purchasing 2×112 AV Ampeg cabs to match and replace my GK neo 212 so I can run at 4ohm when I need extra headroom.

As an owner of a few different ampeg heads and cabinets, to me, the svt-3 sounds pretty close to my 90s svt classic. I find the svt-3 to be perfect for a loud 5 piece band for rehersals, and small gigs.

This svt-3 also includes without breaking the bank, and breaking your back while trasnporting it. And if 450w at 4 ohms of power is not enough for big gigs, you can always add a good quality power amp of any size, and still have one of the best ampeg preamps that will deliver that highly sought after, killer rock tones through any quality bass cabinet.

I highly recommend the svt-3 as one of the best bang for buck amps on the market for years to come. Go test one out for yourself and youll see what im talking about. Cheers.

I believe this amp is way above average with any style that you play. But as far as hard rock/metal ? Its got to be the best I’ve ever experienced ! I’ve been playing since the mid eighties but I bought this head for my son.

I also bought two B410C Acoustic bass cabinets to go with the B600HD head. A perfect match ! Unbelievable hard rock tone and the overdrive is awesome ! I used to use effect processors for overdrive and compression.

Not with this head! The compressor does a great job and I don’t see having to use anything else other than flange or some kind of delay if he chooses. Its extremely loud and you can get those cool sounds as Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath and Scott Reeder from Kyuss.

You can turn overdrive off and it has great clear bass tones also with a great eq. I wasn’t sure what a Notch filter was , but it does make a noticeable difference that is adjustable. Again the overdrive is so good , you wouldn’t ever think about using the Tech 21 Sansamp bass driver.

Sounds so much better!! Another great and puzzling thing is the price. How can it be so good and so inexpensive? I think Acoustic’s marketing program is dropping the ball. More people should know about this company! Why anyone would by Ampeg or Harke is beyond me !! Acoustic blows them away !!! only con is that its so light and powerful it vibrates off the cabinet.

I’ve got to find a solution to that. I’m very happy with Acoustic and my expectations were exceeded.

I bought this because it was on sale at a great price. Was not expecting it to sound this good, esp after reading a review somewhere that said it was a really “dry-sounding” amp. I don’t find that at all.

Of all the amps I have owned — Aguilar Tone Hammer, Mark Bass Big Bang, Hartke 5500, Hartke TA600, Mark Bass Little Tube, and Fender Rumble — this one has to best tone to me. When the amp was backordered I almost canceled the order but am really glad I didn’t.

The only amp I have that sounds better is a Hartke LH1000, which is a Class A tube amp and very very heavy. The Acoustic is a fantastic amp! Great EQ possibilities, lots of tone-shaping options. The low end is much clearer than the Aguilar Tone Hammer, which tends to distort at low frequencies.

More than anything, I just love the sound of this amp. Kind of odd that they are not more popular.

Sound: This amp sounds so similar to the original 60’s amps when i played them side by side i was blown away. The features like the obvious lighter weight, tube bias with warmer/cooler setting controls.

The tube “cpu” system letting you know wether or not the tubes are wearing out. choices of 2-OHM, 4-OHM & 8-OHM switch, the onboard Direct Out has had major festival sound crews surprised as well as happy with the Super Bassman’s performance.

Paired with the Bassman 610 it feels perfect on the stage, perfect studio sessions. Even had true old schoolers convinced i was playing the original Fender combo from the time its originally from. Features: Love the Tube “cpu” for on the fly tube monitoring as well as on the fly biasing adjustments.

Standby switch, Main speaker shut off (silent mode for recording is P E R F E C T!) The pull mute on the master volume is nice, love having two channels. The onboard “vintage” overdrive function opens lots of tonal advantages & adds to your color pallet during solos if you boost.

great to play lines overdriven during others solo’s. included footswitch is very valuable. Ease of Use: If you’re new to playing tube amps, i recommend reading the manual. Otherwise, just have fun finding the EQ you like most.

Quality: Mine has traveled the entire midwest in a car or trailer & its Still holding up looking darn near brand new after 3+ years of use, constant loading in & out. Works just fine in the southern heat as well as the harsh winter.

No dirty pots or fuzzy volume levels. No complaints. Value: If you’re looking to step into the vintage world tone wise but aren’t looking for the hassle of vintage gear upkeep. this is the way to go.

SWR new ideas combined with existing Fender classic tone makes an amazing modern day improvement on what is otherwise classic perfection.

The Wow Factor: The aesthetic is nailed when The acts of yesteryear are impressed as well as the pro’s of modern times. You’re golden. Overall: The sound & aesthetic is what i would call “Currently Vintage”.

I have owned several Fender amp products over the years. This amp isn’t my favorite but it’s special. My favorite is the older Fender Bassman 300 Pro but it’s lacking in some of the more modern features and is heavy heavy.

This amp has a creamier tone and the drive channel can really grind. The only time I have had problems with Fender quality is when I bought used and I have owned 3 super bassman amps now with no problems.

A recurring problem with Fender amps. Just a complete disregard for quality assurance. “Crank ’em out as fast as you can. We’ll just send these idiots a different one that may or may not have the same problem.

” If I am spending 2 grand on a product, I expect to receive 2 grand worth of product. Screw you Fender. I”ll buy my not so cheap, foreign made products from someone else.

This is my third bass amp, but the first I can call a “real bass amp”- one I can take out jam all night with or carry to gig without having to depend on the PA to carry me for the night. The 12AX7 preamp provides a lot of warmth to this mix.

And the simplicity of the tone, compression and gain knobs are light years from my aged Peavey combo and it’s impossible to to get right equalizer. I have yet to feel the need I must connect any pedals to this amp beyond my stage tuner.

The only downside was initial delivery fiasco courtesy of FedEx. To make a long story short, FedEx lost my package, but SamAsh came through with a replacement in record time. Their response has made loyal customer out of me.

Use this at Church through a professional grade sound system. Was looking for a standard bass amp that all of our praise bands could play through and standardize the bottom end sound and remove the variability of every bassist bringing in their own amp.

This head did just that. Once the sound was dialed in by our AV team, the sound quality, bottom end, and depth of clarity was amazing!! Sounds better than some of our other bassist’s other amps (Fender Rumble, Mark Bass Ninja, Ampeg combo amp).

Also love the built in compression in the amp.
