Very good chef knife I brought it cause. I wanted something bigger then the standard one love it use it the most. Good weight to it and perfect feel in your hand.

Like the sturdiness of the blade and the ability control while using. It’s the right size for daily needs.

i used these knives for 8 years in a meat shop. When I left work and started college where I moved home I discovered my parents knives were awful, so my sister bought me one just like I used in the shop.

That was 40 years ago and I still have the same sharp knife that is almost indistinguishable from a brand new one that I bought a few years ago that just sits in a drawer. Easy to sharpen, holds and edge well, and can use a steel to bring and edge right back.

The handle is great and a curved blade is much better than a straight edge.

Unbelievable blade and meat does not stick to it at all. A truly excellent carving knife. The handle it’s perfectly and is very ergonomically designed for the hand giving very positive and secure hold.

The safety feature prevents the hand from accidentally slipping to the blade. Laid length is excellent and performs outstanding. The Swiss have figured it out how much congratulations to them. You won’t be disappointed with this one and I have owned it for over a year now.

Sharp quality for those looking for an all around good knife. Perfect for kitchen work however best for hunters, and at home butchers as I have tested on many hogs. Holds a great edge, and the blade is semi stiff; not as flexible as a fish fillet knife however found to be great for skinning and boning.

Would imagine since very sharp it to would cut vegetables with ease. The handle has an index finger guards which prevents fingers sliding forward as long as proper cleaning of equipment is kept when using.

I personally have 5 mundial knifes and highly recommend.

Nice solid and light. Wish there was a little texture to the handle, but it’s the blade that matters. Will respond later after boning a few animals. The handle is big enough for my extra large hands, should be a great addition to the knife box.

I’ve been using these knives for a lot of years for deer cutting. My lovely bride was so impressed that she wanted some for kitchen use. They take an edge fairly easily and hold it well. I generally don’t have to resharpen until an entire deer is cut up.

Will continue to purchase as needed. I do have an assortment of sizes but seem to gravitate to the 5″ boner for most work.

This knife doesn’t sit in my wooden block as well as the others due to the design of the base (it’s thicker at that point than the Pro S), and perhaps I should have stayed with the Pro S offerings, but this one looked so sleek, I just couldn’t resist.

I’m into German knives. I like my Wusthof’s and wanted to give Zwilling Pro a go, picking up this 8″ Pro Chef knife along with a 9″ Zwilling Pro Bread knife. It’s definitely got a good edge from the forge and I can’t wait to see how sharp I can make it on my whetstones.

The handle is kinda massive, so it’s better for bigger hands, but I love how they shaped the spine leading into the handle and I adore the added heft. I can rock chop and push chop with ease and I don’t worry at all about cutting myself, I’m comfortable with this knife.

The only issues I do have with the knife are 2 fit and finish things. First, there’s a section of the handle that seems to be melted and either must’ve been improperly molded at the factory or something happened in shipping.

Second, there was a small knick in the blade edge which must’ve been from shipping or poor handling in the store. I got it pretty straightened out on my honing rod so no harm no foul. I’ll take care of it for good on my 1k grit stone.

I grew up using classic European style knives with slightly softer steels and edge angle of 22-24 degrees, They are solid as a rock but a bit heavy and require frequent use of a knife steel to realign the edge.

All the rage now are the thin, light, very nimble Japanese knives that have a very hard steel sharpened to 15 degrees. The edges do not roll like a softer steel would, so you do not use a knife steel to keep the edge aligned properly.

BUT, being such a hard steel, they can chip easily and can only be repaired by having it completely resharpened. Since the steel is hard and thin, the handle of the Japanese knives have to be smaller and lighter to keep the knife balanced properly.

To me, the Zwilling Pro combines the best of the European and Japanese knives. The Zwilling Pro has a very solid as a rock feel with a substantial, easy to grip handle like a European knife and a blade sharpened to 15 degrees like a Japanese knife but not being quite as hard, the edge can be repeatedly realigned with a sharpening steel like a European knife.

Overall, I find that the Zwilling Pro combines the best features of both European and Japanese style knives to make one that is solid as a rock, yet nimble to use. With over 50 years of cooking experience, the Zwilling Pro is a real winner in my book!.

I have two regrets. 1) I did not buy this sooner. 2) I did not buy an extra for gift around me. Different brands give this knife a different name: sausage, tomato, bagel, serrated utility. For me, this is my kitchen’s grunt.

I want to preserve my wonderful bread knife’s fine edge for bread only (Wüsthof Classic 4151), and postpone sharpening of my chef knife by not putting it to cut stone-hard stuff like melons and squash.

This knife fits the bill. Anything nasty in the kitchen goes to that knife, and it becomes fun. This, against watermelon, is so good it is almost laughable. The Mercer Renaissance series is in comparable to other classic knives.

It costs a fraction of the price. What’s the catch? Some say not the same quality of finish. The main difference I can think of is that the modern brand is sharpened at 14° each side, while Mercer are usually 20° each side, which is the old European standard.

This means it is sharp, though not evil sharp. The trade-off is that it should keep its edge longer. In the particular case of this knife, it is a good thing, because sharpening serrated knives is not a trivial thing (few bother, I heard), so it should keep it in a serviceable condition for a long time.

It’s hard to find a reliable professional knife sharpener these days. Hard to find one that does serrated knives. Harder to get both at once. Other than that, Mercer Renaissance and my other brand are the exact same steel type.

This is a full tang knife, and weight balance is wonderful. The tip is sharp. My take is that this belongs in your kitchen if you don’t feel being mean to your bread knife or chef knife. Extremely sharp for my clumsy self lol cuts so smooth and I absolutely love it. Have cut myself several times. The point is very sharp too. The only problem I’ve encountered and I’m not sure if it’s just me or the knife that seems to sort of curb when I cut? Not sure how to explain like if I want to cut something straight and is think it seems to sort of not cut down straight.

Not sure if I have terrible cutting skills but I haven’t had other knives do that. Other than that I like it and the weight is just right not too heavy or bulky.

I should probably wait till I’ve used it for a month or so, but this knife is just too good a deal not to rave about it. I’ve had it now for all of 20 minutes. I tested it on bread; I tested it on leftover chuck roast.

I even tested it on my finger (I just touched the blade to get a sense of how sharp it was and with almost no pressure I’m now wearing a bandaid). I know it says “Bread Knife” but this thing sliced through that cold roast beef like it was butter.

I bought the 12 inch wavy edge knife to cut bread in Bread slicer guide. My old knife wasnt long enough to cut the bread in the guide. So I ended up with odd shaped bread and bits and pieces. I used this knife yesterday for the first time and I sliced the whole loaf like a professional slicing machine.

All the slices were perfect. This knife is amazing and no pressure to use. Even for my arthritic hands and shoulder. I would recommend this knife for cutting bread. I havent used it for anything else, so I cant comment on its use for other food.

I needed some smaller knives for prep work such as peeling fruits, veggies, and mincing garlic. Price: Good. Cheaper than other places. For a stamped knife its a good price for the quality and name. Build Quality: There isn’t that much Santoprene for gripping and the one that is there doesn’t provide much grip.

For its size, that doesn’t matter too much. The plastic handle is fairly decent and similar to my other cheaper knives from similar brands. The blade is ultra sharp and the steel is x30Cr15 which is usually the standard for such knives in this price range.

Its very easy to hone and sharpen. Use: Like i said its sharp, and gets the job done. Was able to get paper thin slices of ginger and garlic. The handle is thinner than I prefer but that is a preference of mine.

Washing: Hand wash all sharp knives. Would I buy again? I’d probably get the 3. 5 inch version since the handle is thicker. My wife really likes the knife though and if it came in pink would get several.

I just used this knife to bone a 15 lb turkey for Thanksgiving and 3 5 lb chickens for Christmas dinner. We had grilled chicken, and chicken noodle soup. Boning poultry is a pleasure with a small sharp knife and this knife will take an edge and keep it thru 3 chickens without any problem at all.

Perfect weight, size and handling qualities when deboning poultry. So far I deboned a couple of Butterball turkeys; surprisingly does not take that long. Stuff it with seasoned dressing and the bones go into my slow cooker along with veggies and barley towards the end to give the soup body.

Victorinox produces a stellar knife and this is no exception. I boned a 4 pound fryer within 11 minutes without so much as a puncture in the skin. The flexibility allowed me to manuver around the ribs and breastbone without leaving too much meat behind.

I loved the fact that the handle is easily cleaned and not having to worry about food borne bacteria. Great little tool in the kitchen!.

I bought a beautiful ikon creme knife set but the block the gave me is hideous. I don’t mind natural variety in wood but parts of it look like it came from different types of trees. I asked to exchange it for another color and provided photos of what was advertised versus what i received and they refused to do an exchange, and also said they couldn’t see a difference between the ad photos and what i received.

I wish i could add photos but am unable to here for some reason. I paid $800 bucks and they wouldn’t exchange it even though it was still wrapped and they had the other block color available on the website.

I think they have a lifetime guarantee on the knives but they dgaf if you are happy with the whole product. Will send this particular purchase right back where it came from.

The chefs knife on its own is a good knife for small hands, it’s well balanced and stays sharp. But it’s no replacement for the fully forged version. It doesn’t have the weight or control. Regarding the paring knife, it’s a lightweight knife and too small for my hands (I’m 6’5, big hands).

It feels like a small steak knife. Does stay sharp though. The sharpener drags the score down. Its taken chunks out of some of my knives with the honing side. The sharpening side works ok, but if you are buying for the sharpener I’d avoid.

Good value overall on deal for approx $130 at Myer. I’d not buy at full price.

A bsolutely a great knife well balanced and well constructed. I have 2 of these- one for our house and one for our beach place. Great steel and holds an edge. Keep in mind- depending on your cutting surface ,these knives do not hold an edge forever.

You do or will need a sharpening system. I have many sharpening appliances, I can recommend my favorite, however what ever suits you is what you need.

Idk anything about knives I bought it for someone els for Christmas, but I’m sure its a good knife. However it came already open, covered in fingerprints and scratched up. It’s not supposed to be used and I went and checked the order to make sure It wasnt.

I understand if it came open because its a knife that was sent through the mail and fingerprints come off easy. but it’s scratched up bad. It might be the distupributers fault and not the knife company’s but either way sucks that it is.

I decided to try this knife instead of my Wuesthof boning knife (which is stamped, not forged like this one). My knife seemed a little too flexible and it made me wary of putting too much pressure on it while using it.

This forged boning knife is less flexible but was flexible enough when I used it right out of the box to debone a leg of lamb. I really like the heft and feel of it in my hand, and the fit and finish are fine too.

I am glad I purchased this knife.

I use this knife for just about anything from skinning to boning and slicing. It keeps and edge well and is easy to sharpen. Great all around knife.

I live on the ocean where everyone fishes both commercial and rec. This is the knife that the pros use because it is the best. Yes you have to dry it off after use but it cuts so smoothly and retains its razor sharp edge that it cannot be beat no matter what the cost.

This blade has spine. Does not flex tip or bow in middle when skinning a wide fillet. Holds its edge and sharpens quickly on 600 & 1200 diamond stone. The handle looks decorative until you hold it, and it becomes a hand extension.

As the title of the review states, this filet knife is Sharp and Flexible. Perfect for filleting smaller fish because the blade is thin and flexible and just the right length. The handle has great grip even when wet.

This is a classic design- well made and simple. This knife is of good steel, and holds an edge well. It is stiff, and narrow, so you can bone most anything with it. I just boned a chicken and it did very nicely.

If you want a skinny blade or thinner profile, this may not be quite the knife for you. I needed a non-flexible boning knife, and this was priced right enough for me to buy. Incidentally, I was antiquing with mom the other day and found one just like this that was at least 20 years old.

We bought it, sharpened it, and that old one is no worse at all from age.

I have filleted thousands of fish over the years using the Russel/Dexter brand. never disappointed. This 6″ series is great for trout. Sharpens easily as it is carbon steel and also just the right size.

a little stiff but you learn how to adjust to your own style of filleting.
