It is a clearly structured book. Each card is presented with key words, actions, opposing cards and reinforcing cards. This information helps to get a better understanding of the cards. Another good point is given for working with spreads.

In Tarot, there is always something to learn. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Tarot.

As a beginner I found a lot of opposite meanings about the same card which was confusing. I understand your supposed to interpret your impression of the cards and tell your own story. but if you wanted the intended meaning this book always has two opposing answers.

Like I wrote as a beginner I found it to be frustrating. Maybe as I improve I will understand why it’s written this way.

I have bought so many tarot books, many of them very popular and very highly rated but THIS is the only tarot book I have that I would keep if I could have only one. It is logical, accurate, and clear, and complete.

It is the Ace of Swords of tarot books. I wouldn’t be without it.

I love this book. Although I’m new on my tarot journey I feel assured that (with this book) I can assess my cards correctly to receive a better perspective or better understand the message. I love the layout of this book in regards to the breakdown of each card.

It allows me to read a brief description of the card as well as it’s upright and reversed meaning. When you purchase this book you also gain codes for a few FREEBIES which i found a wonderful addition.

One of which is “little book of spells” and access to FREE audio books. This book also gives a little history and key points explaining the cards and their significance so I feel it is great for all from beginners to more experienced readers.

I was under the impression there would be pictures and in color too. I was so not right. You say pictures speak louder than words. My point exactly. Boring.

This is one of the most beautiful Tarot Boxset I’ve seen in awhile. Has an awesome book that explains each card. The illustrations on each card is beautiful loved the feeling of these cards in my hands.

This Easy Tarot kit comes with The Gilded Tarot deck, which, if your main purpose is to buy this particular deck, is the least expensive option compared to buying the regular Gilded Tarot kit. I do have them both, because they each have different books.

This is the 3rd time I’ve bought this deck, because I’ve used them so much within the past 3 years that I’ve worn the first 2 decks out. They are beautiful cards printed on good card stock that is perfect for shuffling.

They also read easily. Personally, I connect to them so well, that this is one of my favorite decks. The book this kit comes with is a regular book, just like the book that comes in its own kit. It is not just a little white book.

Although the accompanying book in the regular Gilded Tarot kit is very good, I actually prefer the one that comes in this kit when looking up meanings.

While I am still waiting for some items to store my new, beautiful deck of Tarot cards, I have read some of the book already. She explains things so simply that even a beginner to the Tarot can understand.

Though I have not yet unwrapped my deck from its cellophane plastic, the pictures I see on the bottom card are beautiful. This is a steal of a deal- normally the book alone sells for $17. 95 with the cards being $21.

I have read some reviews saying that there is not much substance to the book- in my opinion this is just fine because she is trying to teach you how to read the cards intuitively, and secondly more information about different cards is available online.

This is a book meant for the beginner, not those already skilled in Tarot, and having too much information would be too daunting for most beginners. That said, the book is of a substantial size, there is a whole page dedicated to each card in the deck (that shows a black and white photo of the actual card in the deck you get with the book) with basic, agreed upon meanings.

She asks you to keep a tarot journal with what your intuition is saying about your spread as well, leaving an area on the page blank for updates. Wonderful book for beginners, I have no regrets buying this set.

This is a superb kit. The book is well written, concise and very informative. The card meanings are imho accurate and realistic. The only downside – she does not cover reversed meanings for each card.

The cards are wonderfully rich and vibrant and certainly help to retain meanings when you follow the recommended study aproach from the book. Just 2 points against this: 1. It would have been a ‘nice’ thing to include a small pouch to store the cards but not a show-stopper; 2.

The delivery for this item was almost a month from this supplier. Even though it said shipped from the UK I think it was drop shipped from China where it was printed – so read the delivery times before ordering! Overall, very impressed and would definately recommend to anyone.

Once in awhile, you will find a source or reference that defines your ability to learn a new skill. For Tarot, this is that source; this is that one reference book that you will always turn to, to begin answering a question or inquiry.

You may have many other excellent books on your shelf on Tarot, but your understanding won’t be complete without this one. I recommend this book 1000%!.

Like a university reference book for the tarot, highly recommended. I love this book and refer to it often, good reading for readings sake as well. Love it. So many different ways to read the tarot given here including numerology, indepth look at the symbolism, easy to read.

As a Tarot beginner, this is an in depth book that covers off a large amount of info. This book reads similar to a text book, however, I quite like the matter of fact writing style. This is a very comprehensive book that covers off every element of tarot, from the historical meaning, traditional readings and uses, the history, and so much more.

This is a great book for beginners to tarot. The pages are glossy and bright, with easy to understand interpretations of the cards. This is my first time purchasing from either of these authors, and I will definitely be on the lookout for more from them.

If I were to improve one thing, I would love a hardcover edition, however that is minor and doesn’t steer away how great the product is. I would recommend for tarot lovers of beginner-level!.

I am completely new to tarot. This book is wonderful. Excellent outline for each card, and provides several practices (daily, relationship, reading, etc. ) for each card. It breaks down the symbolism of each illustration on the card and overall meanings of the card itself.

I love it. A perfect resource for a newby or seasoned person looking to get more detailed in their practice.

This is a great deck to start out with not just because of the simplicity of Rider Waite but also because this deck is so sturdy the cards are on thicker material than regular playing cards and can take a lot of handling as for other decks of tarot cards they are usually really thin and damage easily.

Of course this is a reprint otherwise they would cost a lot more but the quality is still great. The pictures are a little speckled but again if you are just starting out this is still the deck to get.

Upon opening the little book that’s it comes with I did look through it and decided it was useless, its so much more beneficial to go and buy a decent book and use it instead since most books use this deck anyways.

This is the best tarot book for someone that’s new to tarot. It gets straight to the point with keyword meanings, it describes people as court cards well. It also gives a whole paragraph of a situation with the card, it also shows advise and reversal meanings.

Purchased as a gift for someone who has small children and not a lot of time. Works out well as it is an easy read and and a quick resources. Would recommend this as an introduction book buy for the newbie.

Bought this for my collection and the wands and swords suits are mixed up, the definitions therefore dont make any sense. So disappointed to say that I dont recommend the book as other reviews made it sound great.

Within each definition there are conflicting meanings. If youre new to tarot this book will be really confusing. I hate giving negative feedback but Tarot is something Im passionate about so felt compelled to write a review.

The book has a lot of information, BUT the title is deceiving as I was less confused PRIOR to reading this book. I’m just going to stick with the knowledge I already have & my intuition. Which is funny that I say that because when I was purchasing this book, I was thinking.

I don’t need this book as I’ve been reading by intuition for a few years. I guess I was interested to see how easy “readings by the book” would be. This may possibly be good book for a beginner, but I could see how they may feel overwhelmed.

I’ve personally bought many copies of this book in the past. I suggest laminating the cover to this book, because if you use it frequently the binding will fall apart over time. Therefore, you will have to buy more copies of this same book.

I am a practicing witch and Tarot is one of my specialties that my mother taught me using this book as a young witch. It is a very simplistic approach for people who want simple answers instead of long-drawn out complex ones.

Some Tarot decks require a metaphor to be applied to understanding the meaning of the card. Not this book. It is very cut, dry and direct to the point in answers. For those who are impatient the answers may seem very vague in some instances.

These are usually people expecting an immediate and definite “Yes” or “No”. answer. This is not going to provide that. While reading this book, you have to rely on a mixture of intuitive feeling and carefully re-reading the definition of that card in that particular context while thinking about the question at hand.

Please keep in mind that Tarot is just an interpretation of how the future may turn out. It is not written in stone. The future is always constantly changing. Tarot only provides a thumbnail view of what the future may look like and you have to allow life to fill in for the rest.

For those individuals who get terribly traumatized by Tarot readers or led to believe something larger than life is going to happen, I do apologize that you may have experienced that. There are no guarantees in life and above all, Change is inevitable.

It is neither positive or negative until it finally occurs. Only the individual involved in that sort of change determines whether it is good or bad, but reality is that change often leads us down a path whatever higher superior spiritual being wishes us to walk.

Just as Newton’s law, “For every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction”. This too also applies to spirituality in more ways than one in all religious aspects.

The book arrived quickly, and it looks really fantastic. However I was disappointed that there were a lot of variations on the three card spread, which I guess for me shouldn’t be considered separate spreads.

The book does break it down into subjects – love, career, self development, etc. but the spreads are just ho-hum. They either swing from the 1-3 cards to the 25 card spreads with hardly anything in between.

I was just disappointed over all. For the price I would have expected something a bit more substantial.

I found some parts of the book very helpful. I think for a newbie this would be a goldmine of information. To me personally, the spreads left a lot to be desired. Some of the positions seemed rather redundant and that’s a sure fire way to confuse yourself.

I prefer to ask clear questions rather than have variations of the same inquiry throughout my spreads! That said, this is a good inspiration in creating your own spreads, which the book also encourages.

I love the face of the cards, but this set is WAY too small! My mentor has a large set, and it is great!! I thought these were them. But unfortunately, they are like the size of a deck of cards.

I have quite a few tarot decks as I love the artwork and these are very different as all the pictures are applique and tapestry. The death card is possibly one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in any deck.

Be aware the cards are large but I think that helps to see the artwork properly, all the suits and major arcana have colour coded borders which is useful in big spreads. The cardstock isn’t the greatest, I’d say similar to the druidcraft and wildwood tarot but in terrns of value you also get a really gorgeous velour bag for the cards and a good guidebook.

One of the best things about the guidebook is there’s a spell or activity for each card. All in all very happy with my purchase.

One of my favourite decks to date. The larger cards are beautifully unique and look beautiful for altar work and in frames as artwork. The accompanying book is packed with (again) unique and informative insights into the meanings behind each card.

Vibrant, colourful images. Initially, 20 or more years ago when I started out using Tarot, I found these images ‘too strong’ or powerful. But I love them now and find them very positive and uplifting.

I even had contact with Robin Wood herself years ago, when she gave me permission to use one of these cards on my website. I would highly recommend them.

These were nicely drawn and a great size and thickness. I recommend getting the Robin Hood Tarot book with this set of cards to get the best information about the deck.

I bought 2 sets of these cards, one as a gift for a teenager. It was because I was giving a set to a young person, who is new to Tarot, that I found these cards so fitting. The cards evoke an energy of gentleness and beauty that I believed the recipient would appreciate while learning about Tarot.

The artwork is absolutely stunning and some of the “negative” symbolism of a regular Tarot deck has been replaced with more gentle, positive imagery and wording. For example, Swords has been replaced by Unicorns with very sharp horns, the Death card is called Release, the Devil card is referred to as Ego, Fire is now friendly Dragons.

So when giving a reading and these cards come up, there is none of the initial shock that some people, getting a reading, experience when they see those card displayed. I also appreciate that at the bottom of each card there is a short explanation of what the particular card represents.

Whether you are new to Tarot or an old hand, you will appreciate this deck. They are so absolutely beautiful that you cannot help but be in a more positive space when doing a reading!.

They should NOT be called Tarot cards. He’s made up his own stuff (missing two major arcana cards and renaming the minor arcana with earth, wind, fire, water) – which is fine except the symbolism he has put to each card is very brief and simplistic.

When one studies Tarot we study the empirical symbolism of each traditional card to it’s full extent, and want a full tarot deck when buying tarot cards (regardless of the artwork and the theme of the artwork).

This is a lovely and gentle Tarot deck for anybody who loves to work with the angels. The silver edges on the cards are a nice touch. The cards have the key meanings written under each card image which make them easy to use for an absolute beginner.

The Angel Tarot deck is spiritual but not religious so you don’t have to be a Christian or a believer in monothestic religion to work with it. The book goes in-depth about the cards and also provides some info about the featured angels.

This is the RWS tarot but in a playing card size. Perfect if you have difficulty shuffling normal size tarot cards. They are good quality and not overly glossy or plastic. The ones I have have fairly bright colours, which I like, not the subdued colours of the AGM version.

Luckily most of the tiny areas devoid of color were easily filled in with a writing pen of similar color ink carefully colored in.

I love this deck – the images on the cards are beautifully done and correspond perfectly with the written interpretation/instruction book. They are also guides in and of themselves – meditating upon the artwork in its own right can lead to further insights.

But more than that, the Oshu Zen Tarot is my favorite because no matter what question is at hand or which layout I use, it seems to be perfectly and *exactly* what I need to know in that moment, every single time.

If you are looking for a replacement for an existing Oshu Zen deck, the one I purchased here as well as a second one I purchased elsewhere were not identical to my original deck. The cards are quite a bit smaller than in the one I purchased some 10+ years ago – they are now just slightly larger than a deck of standard playing cards and for me, at least, are actually a bit easier to handle.

The card stock seems to be slightly thinner as well, and you might want to reinforce the ouside box somehow if you are planning to store it in the original container, as the outside sleeve is a little bit on the flimsy side.

As I opened it for the first time, I carefully slit the shrinkwrap “opening end” on mine and kept it intact to help protect the case’s cover for now. I may buy some clear self-adhesive wrap and cover it with that at some point.

This is not a traditional Tarot deck – although if you are familiar with such (and can remember and correlate the corresponding suits and cards) it may be used as one, as it has similar suits, Minor and Major Arcana, etc.

It is not a deck for prediction, per se, but moreso a tool for meditation and achieving understanding, and when used in this way can certainly help you achieve clarity and focus in almost any situation and about any concept.

As this is a “Zen” deck, however, an additional card has been added, “The Master”. From the guidebook, “This card allows us to leave the spiral behind, to take a jump off of the wheel of desth and rebirth.

The Master card symbolizes the ultimate transcendence of journeying itself, a transcendence that becomes possible only through the dissolving of the separate, individual ego in enlightenment. ” I personally was drawn to this deck from the very first time I saw it.

If you are feeling that pull yourself, I strongly suggest that you take the plunge – you won’t regret it. Take a little bit of time to handle, shuffle, and attune yourself to the deck prior to using it the first time and enjoy!.

This Deck is a fresh approach to tarot with the Zen concept being so simple yet powerful to put a different spin on the whole Tarot concept. I would suggest it to be something you either learn before or after learning the original Tarot as the concept is more directed to life lesson and cycles.

Would recommend to those who may not like the idea of occult perception people have of the Tarot. An oldie but a goodie.

Beautiful cards with a good book to get you started with a very unique traditional based Tarot deck. I like the “Zen” focus of the deck. It’s not about telling the future, but more about getting a read on the now to influence the depth of the now and the auspiciousness of the future.

I’ve been a practioner of tarot for almost 50 years and I find the deck and book refreshing in it’s approach.

Best thing about this set is the silk cloth. The cards are flat and unimaginative without the symbolism of the Rider-Waite tarot. The minor arcana have no personality and I find I have no feeling at all when I look at the cards.

It may be fine for some but not what I was looking for at all.

Paid a decent price for a decent product. The cards are thin but nice in the hand & easy to shuffle. The guide book is small too but not so bad for the price.

Awesome book! Good companion for anyone who owns the Raider-Waite deck (as I do). It really goes into detail and gives you additional information that gives great depth to your read (numerology, color chart, etc).

The spreads are really cool and gave me some ideas for my own personal spread. Tarot is an art you are able to shape and craft around your needs and this is a great starting point. Loved that some of the spreads (Tree Spread, Spiral) I hadn’t heard of, and the spells in the back are a cool bonus.

Really enjoy the buy, wish Target wouldn’t add $6 shipping, but it is what it is.

I am not a witch, but I am learning how to read Tarot cards. This book is an excellent reference! I have a number of Tarot books and this one is one of my favorites!! I had been flip flopping back and forth about whether or not to get it because of the Witchcraft angle, but it really just has a Spell section that I enjoyed looking through but won’t put into practice.

As my headline reads, If this book got lost, I would buy another! I can’t say that for all the books I own.
