This corned beef is not the same Hereford corned beef that comes in the round cans. I made the mistake of buying this kind. It has a completely different texture and is not nearly as tasty. Buy it only if your budget allows you to buy the cheapest of meats.

Ran out of the Libby’s Corned Beef and ordered this to try (tad cheaper, hey I am retired). Received yesterday and tried today (02/18/2022)in a sandwich. Tastes as good as other Corned Beef brands I have used including Libby’s.

I really like corned beef in hash, sandwiches, with eggs, etc. I think a lot if not most (or maybe all?) corned beef is manufactured in Brazil. Not sure. Definitely recommend you try this brand. Don’t understand any negative comments.

My husband called me the package arrived. He was really excited by the old school opening mechanism. Which admittedly was fun when I tried too. The van is full and there’s very little extra grease. The meat has a vibrant color and good corned beef smell.

We used it to make a corned beef hash and it turned out amazing!! And, the part you turned off to open the can becomes the lid. Very thoughtful design. We’ll purchase this again.

It’s called the mystery meat no wonder? What parts of cows are in it? Tastes nasty, salty preservatives for $5. 68/b? We can get top sirloin steak on sale for cheaper Why is it only canned in South America? I’ll compare it to member mark solid white albacore.

A 5 oz eight pack can of albacore yields 4 oz meat drained per can. Mathmatically that adds up to $6. 44/ lb. How can a can of this goop even come close to price of Albacore which is healthy by the way?.

All the corned beef I’ve had in my life has been the authentic kind that was boiled in a pot. I thought I’d try this to see what it was like for convenience sake to make a simple sandwich with mustard.

This is no where near being actual sandwich-worthy corned beef. It is more like corned beef pate for spreading on a cracker while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Also, it’s imported from Brazil, so I’m concerned about the quality and safety standards.

That being said, it would make a perfectly acceptable survival ration. I won’t be repurchasing it.

I eat a lot of corned beef. Libby’s used to be the best – a 5 star product. Consumed it for decades. Most recent batch (expires December 2026) is much lower quality than previous ones. Looks like more fat, some skin, and not such a good taste.

More difficult to cut slices. Price was hiked around 20% overnight – yet quality slipped. Perhaps time to move on.

Don’t believe the comments about juices. The can I opened had no juice and the fat was attached to the meat. I’ve never purchased canned corned beef and have no idea what the other brands taste like bu this brand has good flavor.

It crumbles when you try to put it on a fork. I will never purchase a canned corned beef again.

Great product of canned corned beef, not too fatty, great flavor. Quick for prepping fresh corned beef hash by adding your own style amount of home cooked potatoes or hash browns caramelized onions! Highly recommend buying this 6pk bulk- getting more product for your money- I always find it at Costco.

This is a canned product that truly tasted like its fresh counterpart! New Zealand beef is an excellent product There is quite a bit of fat in the cans, but it is easy to drain off after heating the beef up a bit.

Please consider adding this to your pantry, because it is simply delicious. Big Lots has the best price by far, as well. I fried some frozen (or fresh) hash brown potatoes, added some onion and then added this beef to make an exceedingly toothsome corned beef hash.

I saw this item in a local store and decided to give it a try. I use corned beef regularly and thought this might be a good change up. It costs a little more than the other corned beef brands but is well worth it as far as I am concerned.

There are many ways this product can be used. This product also has a long shelf life and therefore is a good item for your emergency food supply, and I keep a good many cans on hand at all times.

Can’t believe I found these and for the best price right now. Delicious taste and good to have in hand in a pinch.

This product did not come with the ‘key’ to open and I thought no problem, I can open with a can opener, which I did. I was so disappointed, very dry, no moisture in the meat. I took a taste and knew I couldn’t eat anymore.

I have eaten this for years (this brand) never had issues before. The neighborhood cats loved it. Pricey for cat food. LOL.

I’m very particular about canned meat in general – and corned beef in particular. (It’s never like the kind you corn at home- – but you shouldn’t expect it to be!) It’s well formed – easy to carve (when refrigerated) and makes an excellent sandwich with pickled beets – my particular favorite.

It’s not as fatty as other brands and I’ve tried many. I love that its possible to carve it thinly- almost shaved – and although many would call it a high calorie food – it’s the amount you eat that can cause you do damage your diet.

As a kid, I always enjoyed corned beef in a can. However, in recent years I found that no American producer made and sold corned beef in a can anymore. Recently, I went on line and found corned beef produced and canned in Brazil by Hormel, and sold on-line by Walmart.

I it excellent, and brings back memories of past years when my mother made us sandwiches from corned beef from a can. Every bit as good as I remember. !.

Theres nothing that I dislike about this corned beef; it taste well and notsalty ; the texture is great and strips are just about right. but most of all theres no beefy smell unlike some corned beef ones that Ive tried before.

This is what one would call – quality. Thats why I buy this brand regularly. I just wish it comes in a much bigger can/jar and some varieties of smaller servings too like lunch packs. Yes Id recommend this brand.

I am delighted I “discovered” this premium quality corned beef. It is tasty! Further, it is nice to know that it is 100% pure New Zealand beef. It is also reasonably priced by Walmart. During the coronavirus outbreak when people are advised to stay at home, it is extremely helpful to have access to such canned items that not only have long shelf life but also is good quality.

Absolutely the best canned Corned Beef on the market. It is packed with big chunks of beef, delectable seasonings, and thick broth. It makes amazing Corned Beef Hash or anything my mind can think up.

I purchased this can of Princes Corned Beef from Iceland perhaps a week or so ago. I have to say that I may not have eaten this product (or any other corned beef product) since I was a child. But, I decided that I might try and follow an online ‘corned beef hash’ recipe, hence the requirement for this item.

I was transported back to my childhood in a fashion akin to the restaurant critic Anton Ego in the Disney movie ‘Ratatouille’.

So in essence, and not to bore the good readers gazing upon these words. This can of Princes Corned Beef was wonderful. It was beefy, with the right amount of fat to retain it’s moistness and it all rendered into the most spectacular ‘corned beef hash’.

In fact my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I shall have to re-order some and make another ‘hash of it’. I’ll get my coat.

Used to be the best, but I opened my tin to find that 10% of the content was pure white fat. Cleaned it off and made a sandwich. Which tasted so fatty I almost gagged. Sandwich and remaining contents binned.

Perhaps i was just unlucky with this tin, but in this financial climate I can’t afford to simply hope for the best. Won’t be buying again.

This is a very poor product – it is not up to the standard to be sold in Waitrose. First of all, I was very disappointed to find this is a product of Brazil, I’d expect British corned beef from Waitrose.

Secondly, the texture is horrible. It has a rubbery consistency, which is unpleasant. And finally, the last jar I bought the key fell off so I was unable to open. It’s a shame Waitrose couldn’t produce their own corned beef, I’m sure it’d be nicer than this dross.

Ox & Palm corned beef is an excellent product from Australia. It’s chunky, juicy, and tasty. Better than any corned beef product from South America, China, or the U. S. Ever since I had my first Ox & Palm corned beef, I have never bought any other corned beef product.

There are lots of different canned Coned Beef Hash. This is the one that tastes good. If money is tight, buy one of each, and you will never buy the others again. If money is tight (or not) this is good food that will feed two people breakfast, and it will stick with you for house.

Libby put the Azz in Nazzty with this one. The meat doesn’t taste corned, and it’s so whipped that it has no meat texture left to it. My mom once mixed up refried beans and canned dog food in an unfortunate switcheroo when she was tired, and I imagine the resulting quesadilla tasted like this.

Why is this more money than the other hashes? It’s not made of better stuff. And if you’re eating Corned Beef Hash from a can you already know your expectations shouldn’t be too high. It’s all about how you cook it.

I crisped it to perfection, which took a strangely long amount of time, and I salted it to perfection. I ended up eating the toast and egg with just the smallest possible amount of this pap smeared across the crust.

Mostly watery diced potatoes with a little corned beef soup. So different from what this used to be – firm/solid with corned beef. Shame on you Libby. I’m discarding 3 cans and not buying Libby going forward.

I’m laying in some supplies now, just in case, and Hormel Corned Beef Hash is one of my “go-to” choices. The food itself is outstanding, as is the promptness of delivery, but there are a couple of disappointments.

First, after adding the shipping costs, the price is not saving very much from a store trip. Second, the cans (or their contents) are getting smaller. Used to be the can contained 16 ounces of product, now it’s 14 ounces.

I don’t recall any price reduction to match the reduction in the amount of product, though. Looks like a stealth price increase.

What happened to this product?? No flavor at all, none. Very greasy, and. as an added bonus, gives you horrible gas for about two days after. I’ve eaten this for decades, loved to make a quick breakfast or burrito with it.

Now, it seriously smells like Alpo when cooked and is terrible. I won’t be buying it again. Sad, it’s something I’ve eaten my whole life.

Pretty good. Cook it in a pan until brown. Don’t need to add any grease as it is plenty greasy. Keep the cover on or it will splatter on range. Just wanted to try it with eggs and toast. Took about 20 minutes to brown on medium heat.

Pretty good but will not make it a regular part of my diet. Too greasy. Probably will have it again in a month or two.

For what this is, this is great. It’s a small can (but still makes a LOT), and it is more adaptable than I initially would have thought. Fried up of course it makes a typical easy hash good with eggs and hot sauce etc.

, old-school style. I’ve also microwaved it late at night when I was hungry and not in the mood to get into a fryfest; hey, it didn’t look quite normal, but it still was quite tasty that way too. I tend to get protein cravings late at night, and sometimes think in terms of the old diner type meals I’d have with my dad as a kid.

Used to be much better, but product appears to have changed gradually over the years. Quality is so low that frying, baking. nothing will help this hash. The more we cooked it, the browner – not in a good way – the product became.

Water content is too high to make any crispiness at all. Would not recommend.

This USED TO BE a VERY good canned Corned Beef Hash. Now, even my dog does not like it (and trust me, it looks more like dog food than human food). Not that long ago you could open both ends of the can and push out this cylinder of hash that cut into nice round slices, crisped-up wonderfully and was the best thing ever with a poached egg on top.

First problem, Hormel changed to a can that can only be opened from one end; bummer. But one could still form it into a patty for cooking. Then. Hormel (recently) changed the recipe. It no longer tastes like the original product (not even close) and it has so much fat and water that it just turns into a puddle of overcooked diced potato’s and reddish-brown “goo” in the pan– and it won’t crisp if you use a flame thrower.

Perhaps if people quit buying the sort of “force feed garbage” that the big companies like Hormel are trying to jam down our throats they will go back to producing good quality products– they used to, why did they stop?.

Great product. I was surprised when I open the can not too greasy cooked it with cabbage and potatoes my husband loved it. I ordered 7 they came separately 1st one with 3 cans and 2nd one 4 cans shipping was from FedEx.

My go to brand for corned beef. Just saute witht onions and tomatoes and serve with rice!

Best corned beef brand in my opinion. Just sautee with garlic and add some Knorr liquid seasoning (shhh, that’s my secret). Perfect breakfast.
