20 Best Bulb For Leopard Gecko (2022 Updated)

I purchased two of these bulbs on Jan 6. One bulb has now burnt out 3 months later. These bulbs should last around 6 months or longer from what I have read online. These bulbs are around $30. I wouldn’t recommend these bulbs to anyone.

1st of all im wondering why this bulb is so expensive at petco compared to other places. 2ndly i only had it plugged up 24 hours total spaced out in 2 days and it stopped working!!! They’re not accepting returns during covid so what am i supposed to do!? BUY ANOTHER??? I am so disappointed with this purchase i could just scream.

I use this bulb for each of my turtle’s heat lamps. The UVB is important for them and helps keep them healthy. in order to keep their effectiveness, the bulbs need to changed out every 6 months.

Excellent accompaniment to my landscape lights. Somewhat difficult to find a 12 volt ac/dc candelabra base bulb and this style blends seamlessly with my other landscape lights operated by a 12 volt transformer.

I converted my exterior brass coach light and brass driveway brick pillar light with glass block accent lights from standard 120 volt ac house current to 12 volts. Not difficult to do. Located underground UF 120vac cable and spliced to 12 volt landscape cable.

Terminated the 120 volt UF cable in waterproof connection J box for safety and future use, if needed. Replaced 120 volt light bulbs with these 12 volt light bulbs and lights now operate from 12 volt landscape timer from dusk to dawn or as set on timer.

Only negative factor is I can not control my driveway lights from indoor wall switch now but then, again, the lights come on auto with a timer and operate without a wall switch which can be more convenient and safer for guests and late evening entries along with timer that can be set for more energy conscious deployment.

Bulbs look fantastic through clear glass lens during daylight hours!.

I bought these Satco red bulbs in 2012 and use them during Christmas season in my outdoor pillar lights. They stay on for an average of 12 hours per evening from about the second week of December through December 31st.

I’ve only used them for three seasons; 2012, 2013 and 2017, in combination with green candelabra bulbs I purchased from a different company. Out of the 3 years I’ve used these red bulbs, only 4 have blown out from 25 purchased – but the real problem is the quality of the red color.

The red film on the bulb has peeled to varying degrees in about all of the red bulbs since the first season I’ve used them. some much more severe than others. However, the green bulbs I purchased from a different company have absolutely no peeling and are still working terrifically.

For my green bulbs, only 2 have blown out. I’m buying more of both colors for next season but will change the company for my red bulb purchase. I have had problems with other Satco candelabra bulbs in the past, which I will note in another review on this website.

I’m so happy to have found this bulb in your website. I have a portable wood heater with fake flames. It was heating, but flames went out. Took back off and saw a bulb. I’m thankful I ordered 3 bulbs.

and found what I needed so the pretty flames would show.

Excellent source for all lighting requirements. Purchased large quantity of reflector flood lamps. All arrived within 3 days and all were undamaged. Great pricing on all lighting needs.

We got these when we built the house. Literally within 4 months these started failing. It’s been two years now and we’ve had to replace pretty much every single one – we probably have 50 pot lights in the house – total waste of money.

Horribe quality. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand.

These are in recessed lights in my dining room. I tried some LED products but ended up back where I should have started. Warm and pleasing. Low glare. Good beam spread for my very low ceiling. Just right.

I try to use LEDs when possible, but this time it had to be halogen, and this bulb was exactly right. (The 39w worried me, but it certainly does seem equivalent to older 50w bulbs. ).

I got this small glow light for an African fat tail. I haven’t set up the terrarium but I let the light run with the recommended Arcadia 50w bulb in the care guide. The hot spot in an empty tank reached about 85-87 degrees.

The glow in the dark coating really works as advertised but it doesn’t last too long. If the company that produces it could make the glow last longer it would be awesome but some is better than none.

I can’t wait to use it.

When I purchased this fixture thought the dome was aluminum. But the dome is actually ceramic an heavier then aluminum. When a 100watt or more is in fixture. Makes a crackling sound. So I purchased a aluminum one after this purchase.

I have a few of these lights for different vivariums and I wouldn’t buy anything else. Quick and easy to fit, either sit directly on top of the vivarium or use an Exo terra bracket to hang it above the vivarium.

I have some hanging and some sitting directly on the screen top ,either way works for me. Just be careful if you are using a bulb that gets warm if you are sitting it directly on the top the mesh top.

I have read that the heat can melt the plastic on the screen cover of the vivarium. I only use mine for UVB so don’t have this problem but it is something to keep in mind.

Bought two UV tubes that were discounted and half the price elsewhere. I like these Exo Terra Reptile UV tubes as they have lasted longer than other makes I tried. They are on for 11 hours a day on a timer.

Our warehouse has many tube lights throughout and a few have been out for quite some time. We ordered the wrong tube originally, but returning it was not a hassle (great customer service). Within a week we received the correct tube and it works great.

Much brighter than the ones we replaced. Low prices without skipping out on quality.

I ordered lights to replace the tube lights dying one by one in our office space. I wanted to replace them with the exact make/model that was already there but couldn’t find them for any reasonable price.

As the 1000bulbs website explained, the bulbs I was looking for are not made anymore as they didn’t meet efficiency standards and those that were still around were being hoarded by people who refused to change; so, companies were charging a premium for the last of them.

A light bulb went off (pun intended) and I finally understood why my bulb search had gone dark. The 1000bulbs page pointed me to good replacements and the office never looked better. I will definitely be ordering from 1000bulbs when it’s time to order the next batch.

I really wanted a tube with “daylight” rating but this was the closest the store had. When I plugged them in the fixture and turned it on the light was very bright compared to the old tubes that had finally died.

I was pleasantly surprised and quite happy and grateful for the help from the store employee who had helped me choose what was closest to what I wanted.

I’ve “done my homework” regarding the need for UV-B light for effective conversion of D3 and calcium absorption for the body’s use. Both reptiles and Humans require UV-B light absorption through their skin for the same reasons.

Lack of sufficient UV-B light can lead to insidiously deleterious physical and mental effects, I discovered by reading the scientific literature available online. A good chunk of each of these peer-reviewed “Gold Standard” scientific studies goes right over my head, because it’s highly detailed super-technical stuff.

But the solid gist of what the studies’ finding are, is in perfectly understandable English– and the absolute requirement of sufficient UV-B comes through both loudly, and clearly. What raised my eyebrows the highest was the finding that people living in Scandinavian countries have consistently low vitamin D blood levels, due to the relatively “weaker” sunshine that their area of our planet gets, due to the Earth’s permanent tilt = a permanently steep angle of the incoming sunshine.

They’re not receiving sufficient levels of UV-B. Those D3 “vitamin capsules” aren’t actually vitamin D per se. D3 is a kind of “precursor” compound which the body then converts into genuine, immediately usable vitamin D via skin exposure to UV-B light.

D3 without sufficient UV-B results in the conversion of much less vitamin D, which is then also absorbed, and used, much slower. Many Scandinavians have therefore invested in expensive UV-A-B-C frequency balanced light therapy lamps that must be used with extreme care.

They need to wear dark red-orange glass filter goggles that resemble protective welder’s helmet visors. Well, that’s the gist of what my “homework” taught me, so, I’m very pleased with my new 26W intense UV-B energy efficient bulb.

One more thing. this kind of bulb typically takes a few minutes to come up to full brightness and rated output, so, don’t panic when you first turn it on, and it doesn’t look nearly as bright as you thought it would be.

This 25w globe isn’t too bright, and has a very high UV output which I tested with a device. It’s a spiral mercury compact globe that also comes in 100w. I recommend this particular 200w globe for blue tongue lizards even though they’re not ‘desert dwellers’ as most globes have such a low UV output that bone diseases are rife in captive reptiles.

Globes need replacing every 12 months. Take it from me, bone disease is horrible and causes so much grief for lizards. Care for your little darlings well.

If you’re looking for UVB this is the bulb to get! This little light is more intense than the tube version. It’s compact design makes it more intense by putting all the energy into one point, which is better than a two foot spread of not so intense UVB, making this bulb the best to use for terrariums and horticulture applications.

This allows you to have control of the direction, area size, intensity and depth of UVB radiation.

Hum what can I say? These are UVB bulbs, I screw them in and they work. What more is there to say?. Actually yes! If you are in an area that has “brown outs” where the power company reduces your power but not a complete “black out”.

Turn off or unplug your fixtures that have these bulbs or they will get fried!!!! and they are really expensive to unnecessarily replace.

Purchased this bulb at Petco to replace a previous one of the same that burned out atop a turtle tank. This desert bulb is necessary to penetrate the screen mesh used.

Lightning burned up all my landscape LED lights so I am changing my fixtures to incandescent lights. These are just what I needed! Bought new sockets already and my landscape lights look new. They are a warm white color (like candles) and don’t look like the bright artificial white that they were previously.

Just wish these were rated more than 1500 hours. It is better to change out a bulb instead of throwing away a perfectly good fixture. I ordered these bulbs and got them in 3 days. I am glad I found 1000bulbs online.

I recently purchased a box of these bulbs for use in the light beneath my microwave oven. The deal was too good to pass up. As I needed to replace a bulb, they arrived just in time. I put a new bulb in.

no problems. working just fine. I was used to paying 3 or more times for a single bulb than I paid for one of these bulbs. NO MORE! 🙂 :).

The S6 lamps are hard to find at retailers. I need this smaller lamp to fit my application. These 145V lamps aren’t as bright as the 120V ones, but I’m more interested in life than brightness. These lamps should have a very long life.

I use a 750 Watt bulb in my ARRI 1000 Watt lamp because it provides plenty of light without overwhelming my subjects. It also lets the lamp run cooler. I keep the ARRI lamp at least two meters from my subjects, and run it only intermittently, again, so as not to overwhelm my subjects.

This bulb did not work. Expensive bulb too. I could not return it because I bought it as a spare bulb and did not get around to needing it until well after the 30-day return window. BTW: instead of being seated nicely in the base, the actual lamp appears to have been shoved into the ceramic base and patched around its base in a rough, crude manner.

This is a 4 ft fluorescent tube which we are using to light the kitchen. Like the tube it is replacing it has fittings at the end so it just slots and turns into the light fitting that was already there.

It is a very blue white light, which takes some getting used to. The previous bulb had more of the standard glow to it. But it means that I can see to cook and eat my food and that’s what I wanted.

These bulbs have really made a difference in our shop! It was pretty dark in the shop and with these new bulbs, it’s a different environment. It’s wonderful to be able to really see what we’re working on.

They were very easy to replace and arrived in great shape!.

Shipped next day, arrived 1 day later. Couldn’t ask for better on that. Note: item not shipped in another outer box so product condition depends on quality of handling by the carrier. Mine arrived AOK.

It is indeed the Alto CW Supreme, which has a high 89 CRI, (very good color rendition) and is a bright white 4100k (neutral, not yellow or blue, not corrected pink like the old 835’s, and not casting green like old or cheap bulbs.

) Since I can’t get 835’s anymore, this is the next best option until LED’s by brand name makers come down in price. (the off brand led’s just burn out too often. ) Zoro gave great service on this order.

I am very pleased with the performance of the fluorescent aquarium tube. The order and delivery only took a few days and the product was exactly as described, a branded tube which does the job.

Brilliant Gro-lux light. A pity it had sold out as very good value and is German made too.

Just what I needed to upgrade to a T5 system. Everything required is supplied in one box. It was very easy to fit and is a nice looking unit. I bought this as I am new to the T5 system and got one initially to make sure that I was happy with it.

I will now be upgrading my other lamps to the same system and will not hesitate to purchase them from this supplier. The delivery was much quicker than I expected which is a bonus. I also like the inline switch which allows me to turn off the lamp very easily when I need to.

Searched in stores and on the internet for a rare bulb for an outdoor sensor light on an aging cottage. Ordered the bulb online from Bulb America, it came in the time frame promised and works perfectly.

These would be great but I ordered the wrong length. When I received the correct length they were remarkably easy to install and they are extremely bright. I can give these a thumbs up based on that.
