Save yourself the trouble and do not purchase this service. I purchased and canceled my subscription immediately after receiving the device. They sent me a refund and then charged me a few months later and just charged me again this month ($69.

99) for a subscription I canceled a year and a half ago. A complete scam. Stay away! They will not own up to their mistake or refund your money. Zero stars if it would let me submit without a star.

Although we did run into a few installation issues; thanks to timely, excellent and extraordinary Technical support from Casey and Davis at FIXD, they are all behind us now – 22 calendar days from the time our FIXD sensors arrived.

All of the issues were fixable by us, without waiting for software patches. All we required was good advice – and we got it. In other words, everything now works perfectly! We are delighted with this product and its service and support.

In case the following ‘fixes’ help someone else in our situation, here are the lessons we learned about installing two FIXD sensors in two cars parked near each other with both of us using iPhones: 1) Since we each had iPhones, it turns out we had to add each sensor to both phones, rather than just to a single phone.

Casey advised this is a consequence of iOS 10. 3. 3, over which FIXD has no control. This is true for iPhones even though both iPhones are logging in to the same FIXD account. 2) To add a sensor to either iPhone, it is necessary to drive the car with the sensor you are adding at least 500 feet away from the other car (sensor), so the two sensors don’t get mixed up.

These sensors – even though they are Low-Power devices – have amazing range! 3) If you have both iPhones with you at the same time, be sure to turn off Bluetooth on the phone you are NOT currently adding sensors to.

Otherwise, connection errors result. 4) When you add each sensor to each phone, do them one iPhone at-a-time first – and then for each phone, add one sensor at a time. 5) Add the sensors (and hence your vehicles) in exactly the same order for each iPhone.

This is counter-intuitive, since you will be tempted to add first the vehicle owned by the owner of that iPhone. Don’t make this mistake! If you do, the second iPhone will report confusing results. If you have already done it wrong, just delete the sensors from the second iPhone and re-add them in the same order you added them to your first iPhone.

In summary, we are impressed by FIXD technical support because: • the average response time was 2 – 3 business days • this despite a huge number of orders that leave them in constant backlog • their responses were uniformly helpful (NOT lame advice like “just delete everything and start over”) • when I reported my wife’s 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander’s maintenance schedule was missing, Casey had it up within 2 business days! The reasons we love this product are: 1) The FIXD devices fit easily into our OBD2 ports and do not come loose while driving 2) The FIXD devices are small enough that in neither car do they in any way whatsoever get in the way of our legs, even when getting in or out of our cars 3) As long as either of us has our iPhone with us and are driving either car, our sensor monitors for issues while putting NO noticeable drain on our iPhone batteries 4) FIXD is very responsive to requests to add missing vehicle maintenance schedules 5) The user interface is simple, intuitive and easy to use 6) FIXD is constantly adding new features – or perhaps they are just features I keep discovering.

I like that I can track tread wear on our vehicles’ tires, and that in emergency I can view a map of all nearby repair shops 7) Peace of mind – a few years ago, my wife was 50 miles away when her check-engine light went on.

I had to drive all the way out to South Miami in rush hour to pick her up and arrange towing, all because we had no way to tell the issue was not serious. Today we have different vehicles, but the miles are mounting on them once again.

I rest easy knowing that if a similar fate should befall her again, I will be able to remotely diagnose the issue. We will stand an excellent chance of averting a nasty trip and a huge towing bill In summary, these guys are the bomb! I highly recommend FIXD.

Totally worthless. This is an absolute scam! You buy the sensor then get constantly bombarded with ads to upgrade to the Premium which doesn’t help you troubleshoot a vehicle at all. I needed an app/sensor that shows on the go 02 readings, fuel pressures for fuel injection systems etc.

What it gave me was RPM, engine speed, etc that I can look on my dash and see. Then says “no errors detected” and that I should call a mechanic.

Ordered this model as our other OBDII/ABS reader didn’t scan ABS codes for Subaru. It was able to provide the ABS code, but unfortunately this model doesn’t have the battery reset feature which is the other reason I had picked it.

The compatibility checker on the Innova website said it did have battery reset. I think I will be returning it and looking for a model that does everything I need.

This reader is okay. This specific reader was purchased to read and clear trouble codes on my Mercedes Benz – SKL 280. It cleared one code (ABS) and would not clear the SRS code. I know the SRS code is not active because these codes were the result of disconnecting the battery – for a battery change out.

So far this has saved me $$$$. As much as I like working on my own stuff, it’s nice to get the codes and take it to a pro and have them tell you the same thing.

I had to replace my old code reader, as it has been “borrowed” for a few years now. I downloaded the app, as per the instructions, and I figured that the app would give me information as to what the code means, but no.

You download the app to link your phone to the Innova Code Reader. Your phone then gives you what make, model, year, engine and body style it is plugged into. Then it gives you the trouble codes that are saved, and looks for intermittent codes that may be available.

I remember computers becoming available for the average user, and have seen technology evolve at exponential rates, but I was still surprised to see what this inexpensive code reader did for me. I got the codes, purchased a few parts, made the repairs, and was back on the road within a few hours.

I generally follow technology, but I had not been following OBD code readers, and was shocked as to how much they have changed. Whoever it was that borrowed my old code reader, THANK YOU!!!.

I used this product on both my 2011 F250 6. 7L and 1999 F350 V10. It worked on both trucks for your standard check engine lights. On the newer truck obviously you can read more because of the computer.

I did expect it to read a little bit more on the 1999 than it did. I do you like the big screen that lights up on the reader. The app associated with it runs slow but works. I do like that it gives you potential fixes and possible costs.

This tool is quicker, easier to use, and far more comprehensive than other tools I’ve used. It is loaded with analytic capabilities and I would recommend people use this when buying used cars or doing maintenance.

When you connect, you can make sure all MIL’s check out, plus look at detailed analytics and charts to assess any codes. With a little investigation, you can hone in on specific issues instead of needlessly replacing a part because a generic code indicated an issue related to it.

I highly recommend this diagnostic tool over others on the market.

This product has been great. It syncs up to the onboard computer. I used it on a few cars, mostly American and Japanese cars. No issues in determining the error and clearing any codes. Reads the computer spot on and able to see the status of all the different sensors.

The screen is nice and big and bright so when working in the car can get dark under the dash and in a garage. So having a bright screen and seeing everything is great. Would recommend this to all my mechanic friends if they don’t just borrow mine.

Great for all sorts of vehicles. If you are fixing a lot of vehicles like me. It’s well worth the extra money. Need one that’s versatile and tough for daily use.

I’ve had different code readers and scanners over there years. This one is very feature pack for the price. It was easy to setup and connect to my vehicle. I was able to use it to service brakes on my vehicle and I was able to look at information that I was only able to see with very expensive scanners I’ve used in the past when I was a mechanic.

I love the fact that you have access to the phone app that you can use along with the scanner to look up common fixes for your issue and you can even shop for parts right from the app. I would highly recommend this for the do-it-yourselfer.

It’s also easily updated over wifi. It is a great unit. It gives all you need to do it yourself.

got the privilege of trying this awesome unit, and for free at that can you imagine ?! I’ve been playing with this for a couple of days now, and the good outweighs the bad (or disappointing). I’ll give it four stars for now; most of the disappointing things can be easily fixed.

First the negative: 1) I really wanted to read fuel rail pressure in real time on my Dodge 2004 Ram 2500 and when I called tech support before I bought the unit I was told it would read this; unfortunately this reader WILL NOT read fuel rail pressure on that truck.

This is the second one that wouldn’t read FRP (Blue Driver won’t read it either). 2) Nice reports – they are sent to my cell phone but there is no way to print them. Should be an easy fix; I spoke with Tech Support and they said they’ll add it as a feature request.

3) Live data can be viewed as numbers or a graph, but it will only show two graphs at a time. i suggested they either enable Bluetooth direct to something like Torque or make their own app. It’d be nice to be able to show live data in gauge format.

Now the positive: 1) It cleared faults AND logged preliminary faults, meaning everything. None of the Bluetooth/app scanners do this as far as I can determine, meaning they don’t do it for my Dodge diesel.

2) Decodes OBD2 fault codes. Yeah I know I can look them up but seeing it in real time is easier. 3) The reports are nice; I can always read them on my cell phone. 4) Tech support is knowledgeable and except for one glitch about fuel rail pressure they have responded to my calls.

5) Unlike the 2004 Dodge it reads all sensors from my 2009 Dodge 1500 Hemi. Lotta useful information from these. I recommend this reader as a good entry level OBD2 reader. It should be adequate for the needs of most home mechanics.

I decided to try the Fix Assist to see if it could diagnose the same issues similar, more expensive devices do. Not a bulky unit, fitting nicely in my hand, and it provided all the information I needed.

The Bluetooth connected without issue, and the longer cord is great for moving about while hooked up. I was impressed not just with the detailed information given, but also how easy it was to read on the screen – clear and a decent size! Very user friendly, and I had no issues connecting to a number of vehicles.

Free updates are a huge bonus as well for keeping this device current. Plan to recommend to friends, but not let them borrow mine! Turned out to be more useful than I expected!.

WoW! Was stranded in a remote area for weeks , truck didn’t enough power to go up hill in my drive way. Roads were glare ice couldn’t get a tow truck in. The VSC light & engine light were on causing throttle to be restricted.

My wife picked up the reader and ten minutes later found the problem( burnt fuse ) and drove out like there was never a problem. I am guessing it almost paid for it self first time around. Bravo !.

I was very impressed with how many systems I could scan with the 5410 tool and mostly how easy it was to get connected and get details. The live metrics feature is also extremely helpful to monitor critical systems on a test drive to confirm repairs are working as expected.

Clearing codes is also extremely easy. The bluetooth connection allows a full report to be generated on a phone or tablet, perfect for looking through outside of the car to further diagnose any issues or identify service recommendations.

Only drawbacks are what a few other reviewers have noted – the unit can lag at times with the buttons not being immediately responsive but it clears up after a few seconds. Also, the app is good but not yet great and hopefully will continue to be updated as there’s a lot of potential for it! Note: I received this unit for free as part of a product testing program.

If you think in anyway that you could benefit from the Innova OBD2, then by all means, I encourage you to get one. Firstly, almost anyone can work the thing. It’s almost as simple as plug and play. Was able to correct a few aggravating dashboard lights on both of my vehicles, and since I’ve had the Innova OBD2 I’ve been able to stay ontop of everything.

Very impressed and glad to have one.

I am somebody who likes to be hands-on and be able to do stuff on my own and this follows me as it relates to taking care of my care. I have seen this kind of scanner be used by specialists to diagnose problems related to the vehicle.

I got this because cars can products are the ones that are widely used in the industry by DIYers and specialists and mechanics. I was very pleasantly surprised as it was really easy to setup and connect to my car and was able to get started real quickly as opposed to wasting time setting this up.

The app also helps a lot with tracking as well as diagnosing issues and getting in front of them. It is somewhat of an investment but for example, for me, I was able to find a problem that I needed to take care of right away as opposed to waiting for a disaster to happen.

Excellent home mechanic OBD scanner, impressed with ease of operation and useful data recovery. The free accompanying app is also an excellent reference guide. I purchased it specifically for the OBD1 function.

Install the 3 AA batteries, not included , for the OBD1 scanning function as some vintage vehicles do not have power to to the port. It will scan most OBD2 vehicles without the batteries installed. Scanned my 1995 Impala SS, 5.

7 L which the manual and tech help said it is not compatible with. If you select the GM vehicle as a 1992 and NOT 1995 and Vin letter P it will link and give you accurate code retrieval. I used the OBD2 function on several vehicles and code retrieval was accurate when compared to the dealer scans.

Pleased with the scanner and a good purchase when on sale.

I received this product as part of a free sample program. It didn’t take long before it came in handy. My brother’s truck was having issues so we hooked up the scanner and found out the code issue. A quick google search said it could either be a huge costly issue or a simple sensor replacement.

He replaced the sensor and everything was fine. Even if you aren’t handy enough to make the repairs yourself, by determining the codes yourself you can relay that information to your mechanic to avoid having them charge you for unnecessary diagnostics or repair work.

We will be using this to pinpoint issues on our entire family’s vehicles and saving us a lot of time and unnecessary mechanic’s bills!.

I’m not someone who is super knowledgeable about cars, so this purchase put my mind at ease after a regrettable car purchase. It has a real simple set up and the readings are relatively easy to understand.

As much as this product comes in handy, I would have put a lot more thought into it beforehand if I had realized I was going to be stuck paying another 70 dollars on top of it for the app it communicates the information to.

Definitely felt knowingly deceptive from a marketing standpoint. I hate hidden fees. I’d much rather have the information presented black and white so I can have a fair chance at making a truly informed decision.

Even if I had general knowledge prior to the purchase of fees with the app, 70 dollars is significant information in my opinion.

Peace of Mind I have had Fixed a couple weeks. It is a little early to really rate it. I can tell you it was very easy to set up. It was easy to connect it to the car, set it up with my cars info. I don’t have a check engine light on so it didn’t do anything yet.

I hope I will never need it but it offers me a peace of mind, and will save me some money when it is necessary to use. It is easy to download the app, and it requires you to have Bluetooth on your phone.

I like that it will tell me if the light is on simply because the gas cap isn’t tight, or something I can fix myself, and I won’t have to go to a dealer to reset the light. I can do it from the app. This will be very useful.

This WILL save you money. I live in MN and our winters get cold. Plugged it into my car after the dreaded check engine light came on. Searched the code that came up with my car. Turns out my car is known for throwing this particular code when it gets MN-winter-cold out.

Not knowing what the light was on for could have been a few hundred bucks or more, but when the temp got above negative the light went off. Could have cleared the code, but didn’t. Wanted to see if it was correct.

It was. It is extremely easy to use as well. It does do its best to upsell you on add-ons though. That is its only downside.

This device is not for professional use, it’s just for normal people who wants to know what is the problem and what do they will pay for repair it (even when they don’t know where is the problem and what is the part for replace).

It does not has an adjustment issues, like throttle body and iddle speed, I Think it will need some check the electrical system and any adjustments, because the devise shows too much proposal for buy an extra thinks.

The price it’s good, It will be better if they include a specifications and adjustments, no matter if the price increase (In a normal way) Regards.

I was really impressed with what this device is supposed to do and it was recommended so I bought one. My big disappointment is that they dont tell you upfront that if you want all the features enabled you have to pay a reasonably expensive annual or monthly fee.

Without that fee the information provided is pretty basic, and frankly I think you would get just as much from units less than half the price of thus one. Also it cant find my VIN number so it wants to verify my car every time.

Would I buy another one? I doubt it, too expensive for what you get. Im annoyed that the details werent spelled out clearly before purchasing. My fault for not doing due diligence!.

All this does is scan codes, to give people an idea of what system is faulty in a car. It does not show the abs or stability control issues i have , I went with Blue Driver That gives codes to help narrow down the issues.

fixed charges a monthly and yearly subscription i wish i had just got the BLUE DRIVER, there are other hand held devices some good ones for around $80. 00. This what Fix said 3 years ago and still has not done it (Currently, FIXD is able to read active check engine light.

The other lights such as TPMS, ABS, Airbag, Maintenance lights, and Stability Control, are controlled by manufacturer-specific parameter identifiers, which make it difficult to communicate through the OBD-II port.

We are currently working on licensing that information from the manufacturers. ).

Having been a mechanic for many years (retired now), it was quite a surprise to find this analyzer with so many higher-level features such as real-time run data and snapshots – AND at this price! I was able to accurately diagnose my daughter’s vehicle, which had several codes being presented.

With the ZR8s, I was able to narrow down the true cause of the multiple codes to two of the O2 sensors and an intermittent Throttle Position Sensor. Could not have accomplished this with a basic Code Scanner.

Only reason I didn’t give it a 5-Star Rating is due to the navigation menu not being very intuitive to dig into the different levels for advanced analysis – but with a bit of patience you’ll get there.

If you’re a DIY weekend mechanic, initial level access and code resets is straight forward. Great for both the DIY’s & trained mechanics!!.

This is a scam! Tow truck driver told me to throw it out! Drained my entire battery in onlt 12 hours. Do NOT leave plugged in. Also you csnt diagnostic without 69. 99 subscription. You can do some things but nothing useful!! Avoid this worthless investment.

Steve Elmer has been awesome throughout the process and provides intelligent answers! Tunnel Rat Electronics (TRE) has my confidence. Though it is a pain to use on Linux (no fault of TRE), it is possible.

Moving back to a Microsoft platform did make it easier though my pride took a hit in crawling back to it. Forscan is an excellent option for the interface. Too bad TorquePro doesn’t support either Linux, Mac or Microsoft OS’ on a laptop, but hey.

again, nothing to do with TRE. Using version 1. 4 along with their modification to 500K has worked well on the 2003 F-150. Still trying to persuade my 1995 F-350 7. 3l to cooperate, but I think I’m almost there.

I haven’t tried to push any ECM mods through the interface yet, but it seems capable as you are able to TTY into the system. Finding ROMs on the other hand has proven problematic (likely due to proprietary issues as Ford still claims ownership on vehicles that have been discontinued (a long time ago)).

Look, you can’t go wrong for the price or the support. If you have questions or need a push towards buying it, give Steve a call. He seems to be technically proficient with the inner workings of this product.

I bought this to replace an all in one that I thought was great value for about 8. This is amazing and about half the price. My main need was to cancel a warning light that comes on after about 4 weeks.

The fault code says catalyst failure, but it sails though the MOT emisions test. With this I can see that the second sensor is probably not working. In addition, it can be used to look into many aspects such as mpg, timing advance etc.

I probably won’t use these but it shows the potential. The instructions for setting up are for a different unit, but everything was very easy, just don’t expect a flashing light that goes solid when the Bluetooth connection is made – it stays solid all the time.

Explore the many bits of software available. I have been using car scanner and obd auto doctor.

I originally bought this with the Xtrons stereo but although it recognized the device through Bluetooth I could never get it to sync up through the radio to use it’s functions. Ended up changing to a Kenwood Stereo but it doesn’t sync up.

I was able to still use the OBD unit through my phone App. Do your homework on the App you use. Most will allow you to see a code or delete a code but any useful information requires monthly or yearly fees.

The very first OBD2 Scan Tool I used was back in 2002 (Snap-On Red Brick), and it cost $5,000 USD. It’s amazing to me how basic Scanners can cost as low as $25. For that price, it might be a good idea to carry one in the glovebox of every car you own, kinda like how we use to carry a “Rand McNally” in there.

The scanner arrived in a very timely fashion and was well packaged to avoid the damage that occurs sometimes during shipping. I put it to good use right away, which I may add was very easy!! I am not experienced in using OBD Scanners, but this one made me feel as though I was.

The box is low profile and the unit goes back into it with ease as well. It stores in the glove box very easily and mine will come in handy again and again. I definitely recommend getting one for yourself, and it would also make an excellent xmas gift.

For the price it is worth getting. You can read DTC info, freeze frame, and live data. Freeze frame and live data is generic OBD2 only. Manufacturer PID information will not be displayed. No manual included so will have to figure it out yourself.

There three test modes to run but I could not figure out what they were testing. Overall valuable tool for the money and great introductory tool if you want access to live generic OBD2 data.

Have had the device for only a few weeks; but overall the features, value, durability, price, etc. seem to be very good. HOWEVER there is certainly a lacking in detail regarding an instruction manual and / or internet linkage to such.

For instance in just a couple of specifics, there is a micro-USB female plug on the end for which NO detail instructions are even mentioned; also there is indication on the display of the capability for WiFi connection to personal pc for which NO detail instructions are even mentioned.

Great product great price! Works great and arrived 5 days earlier than expected!

Its a fairly good scanner but it cost too much to upgrade the software annually, which is ridiculous. Nobody who buy this tool will be working on all the vehicles it can use on so the software should be able to be upgrade in sections, for e.

g. European , North America, Asian & so on. Why should the manufacturer force us to pay to upgrade vehicles that we are not going to repair ? Thats dishonest.

Using this for my 2005 Jeep Liberty 2. 8L CRD. Seems to be working without any issues for all of the generic OBDII features of my car. I can get information from my vehicle while it’s running and also in just the on-state.

I was an early adopter to the x431 scanners back in the mid/late 2000s and was thoroughly displeased with the product back then. In addition to over promising access/function, it was bulky, slow, error prone, and just generally a terrible way to spend $3000+ (let alone twice, I had bought a later gen one around 2010 or so as well).

Suffice to say I was extremely hesitant to give them another chance, but given how fast everything-tech has improved over the past 10-15 years, the new lower price point as well as portability of this unit pressured me into trying again.

I must say this is a very different animal than the early units. Obviously the color touchscreen is a huge improvement as is the smaller size, but also the speed is great. If you leave it off when not in use, it takes only about thirty seconds to be ready to work.

Moving between menus is very snappy, with only substantial delays when selecting a different manufacturer (the Bluetooth modules has to reconfigure) or when accessing inherently slow systems of course.

Functionality is better than before, though they still do over-promise things. Don’t expect to program keys on most vehicles even though they claim to. Most will use external (vci based) encryption which makes anything the scan tool clones irrelevant sincethe encryption isn’t there.

A plus side however is that while in the older systems it would just say it was successful regardless (as it just completed the cloned action anyway with no regard for output), ones I have tried out of curiosity have all given some error of sorts indicating it would not be possible to complete our is not fully supported etc.

While a minor thing on its face, this is actually a huge plus in that you don’t spend a ton of time trying to figure out if the problem was the key, an ecu/module, the scan tool or just user error. You know right out of the gate it isn’t going to work so no need trying to over-diagnose the situation.

So far access has been exceptionally thorough, being able to customize bcm/etacs functions on 2020 infiniti models for example with no problem. Even though there are a massive amount of manufacturers from foreign markets, there are still holes in the north american market support.

One would have to go brand by brand, but right off the bat I noticed the is no Nissan Rogue at all it seems, and the entire Hummer brand is also missing (including no listing for those models under Chevrolet or GMC, nor compatible vehicle access like Yukon etc).

So while still very far from ideal or perfection, at the current price point this is reallya no brainier. Very thorough access to many many vehicles at a sub-1k price tag. Even if as a secondary unit, it’s a great addition to the tool box and doesn’t take up much space.

This has all but replaced my 12k Verus if it weren’t for the lack of a lab scope.

I have downloaded all the vehicles updates. You don’t have to do all, but they do stay highlighted in the Update menu. That would be my one gripe is to enable selecting and deselecting what you want to have on the device and have it remain hidden until you select that you want it on from a separate menu.

Also would have been nice to have the ability to add memory from a SD card. But for me the 32 Gig is plenty as even with all the downloading and updating I have plenty of memory. I have used on 5 vehicles so far and it has done well.

I bought to be able to write Vin and reset an immobilizer if needed after a ECM change in a 2004 Toyota, but it turned out to be not needed. I then ran tests on my sons 2016 Toyota Sienna Van and it came up with 3 unknown issues.

So already I like this items ability to see deeper than a standard scanner. The issues shown to us were history items that were no longer an issue, but nice to know about as van was bought used. I like all this item is capable of doing for its price.

The touch screen is large enough even for me at 70 years old and is responsive once you figure out where its sweet spots are for the upper left back arrow. I am getting a screen protector to put on it as I know how dirty us mechanics hands get and figure I better protect it.

Most of the add in connector adapters I will probably never use, but I am glad to have them just in case. It is a little hard getting the Android software to allow you to hook up to a printer other than the one from this company which it wants you to buy.

but I figured out how to download files like I do from my phone or just simply email it to me and print it out on my home printer. If you can afford a bit more money for an item (usually about $150) I would buy the larger scanner X431 V Pro 4.

Works great. Diagnosed my son’s Volvo perfectly. Very intuitive to set up and use. You need to download it on a device with a lot of memory as it come with manufacturer’s data from every car maker in the world.

Looked for OBD2 tester online at CTC site web. Found 3100RS on sale. I read all reviews. They stated nicely connected to Android phone. Went to store. Asked clerk about unit since it showed 3100J on pacjage and same store product code.

Kid says same as advertised since store product codes matched. Tried unit out. Would not pickup my car’s Vin number (Lexus 2003) as well would not connect with phone. Called help desk in Cali. Guy tells me the J model will not connect to phone as is not the RS model.

I tell him CTC sold it to me as RS model. He says I know your not the first! Brought back the unit told CTC about false ad and got my refund.

Updating the firmware borked the catalog. So I returned and got another one. Same thing happened. All within the span of about an hour. I called Innova support and they were completely flummoxed. I did my part, I reported the issue.

I ended up just getting a very cheapo generic wireless ELM327 OBD II reader from the biggest online retailer in the world. With that, your choice of cheap iOS app to drive it and guess what? No more issues and much better software.

This is an antiquated product. do your research. It works, but there’s better.
