20 Best Car Interior Duster (2022 Updated)

This is truly a “mini” duster. I was expecting one like I had many years ago. It’s a gift, so I hope they are not disappointed. If you are looking for one that is like the original size, don’t get this one, it is very small.

It would have been nice to put the size in the description and that is why I rated it a 3. Since it is a gift, I have not used it to see if it does a good job.

This is my first time to purchase the dash duster and I’m very glad I did. Always liked my California Car Duster and this little duster is no disappointment. I ride with my windows and roof open regularly and this gets all the dust out of the car from the whole dash to the tiny crevices around the console gear shifter, vents, and steering wheel.

It also picks up the occasional errant dog hair around the car. Kudos CCD.

None of this is CT’s fault or doing, of course. I had bought one of these a few years back and used it all the time around the house and cars. Terrific brush and awesome dust picker. I wanted another one so I picked one up.

This one is very different in feel, color, smell even. It is lousy at dusting and just moves the dust around. It has been reformulated or is made elsewhere and sure isn’t anywhere near as good as my old version.

I would not recommend you spend $15+ on this version.

So, this was the 3rd California Car Duster I’ve purchased. The first 2 were of very good quality and lasted many years. This third duster is not as well made as my previous dusters. The soft red material is much lighter and thinner, and the wooden handle is also lighter in weight, possibly pine wood, and not very well finished.

The new handle is rather rough and the varnish felt gritty, where the handle on my old duster is oak wood, has a super smooth finish, and has more heft. I decided to switch out the wooden handles. I specifically wanted a duster with a nice wooden handle because I like the feel of good quality natural wood, so I was pretty disappointed with this new item.

If this is an indication of how California Car Dusters are now being produced, it may be the last one I purchase. I’ll probably look for a better made duster, even if it means paying more money. They should go back to better quality and raise the price.

I buy this brand of duster because I care about how the paint looks on my vehicles, which means I also care about the quality of the items used to protect that paint. I can only give this item 3 stars due to the lowered quality materials now being used.

On a more positive note, the carrying case seems a bit more heavy duty, although quite stiff, but it willprobably soften after some time, I’m sure. Overall, I would no longer recommend this item to others.

Look around for a better item to dust your vehicle with, this one probably isn’t the best at this price point anymore.

These things have been around for ever. They work very well and they won’t scratch your paint. Just like any type of towel or wipe, you need a good coat of wax or sealer to protect your paint. The more the wax the better the protection and the easier it is to quickly clean.

The duster is the best way to get things cleaned up.

Does the job as good as my other has for years. I bought this one to keep with our other car for convenience, well worth the price and these sisters live up to their description. They dont scratch as long as you follow the cleaning instructions that is provided in the storage bag they come with.

The handle is made of a lighter weight wood which makes it easier for the longer reach no complaints on that, but Im sure it was a cost saving effort made for the company not the ease of use but plenty sturdy just as the old one is.

This is a total piece of junk. When you use it, small red fibers are deposited all over your car. I even took the pad off an washed it hoping that would help, but red fibers still came out. I had to take a leaf blower and blow the fibers off the car after using it.

Don’t waste you money. I threw mine in the garbage.

The duster cloth seems as good as the more expensive brand, can’t tell a difference. Comes with a bag to store in. Handle is plastic and cheap. If you are environmentally concerned, spend the bucks and go for the wood handle.

Other than that this is a decent duster.

I’m using this mainly on a motorcycle. Unlike some of other reviews I didn’t experience any of excess paraffin or excessive lint. Just follow the instructions and you should be satisfied.

This really works well. I like that instead of the original style California Duster that is more to be designed to use on one side only, that this is uniform all around so you have more surface area of “bristles” (l can’t think of a better word, but it’s very soft cotton strands) to use.

It also makes “shaking” it easier because you can just hold the pole between the palms of your hand and rotate it quickly by rubbing your hands back and forth thereby rapidly twirling the brush head rapidly to let centrifical force “shake” / clean it.

The case it comes in is not that great to keep it in but you can if you want to. I just stick mine down in a small bathroom trash can upright instead. It does come purposefully “greasy” due to being coated with wax to allow dust to cling so it’s best to lay it on newspaper and rotate it every now and then for a day or two to let the newspaper soak up the excess wax before using on your car.

It’s not long enough to reach the entire hood of your car from one side only (especially if you drive an SUV or vehicle taller than a car) but you’re gonna walk all the way around your car to dust it anyway so it’s not an issue.

It’s sturdy and solid, you need a fairly strong arm to use it. Some people mentioned shedding. I did not notice any shedding. Perhaps those people didn’t “cure” it first by laying it on newspaper first.

Finally, I like any product that says the longer you use it (the dirtier it gets) the better it gets. I’m happy with it and it definitely does the job.

I purchased a duster in 1992 and has worked well for me , but after all those years it was getting a little raunchy, but still worked well. Year before last I visited your booth at SEMA and asked the person there if there was any oil or refresher I could add to my duster and he advised that all I needed to do was to shop vac it and it would be as good as new.

Well he was right. A month ago my 86 year old friend saw me using it and asked where I had bought it and would consider buying one. So I gave him mine and I purchased the new one.

Did anyone else get shipped the WOODEN handled duster instead of the METAL one as pictured? The duster works well but I didn’t want the weight of the wooden handle. Disappointed in the switch , but not worth trouble to ship back.

Back in the day, my pop gave me one of these as a gift. I wasn’t into cars but he bought me a set of tools and this duster. My brain did not register what his intent was. I wanted something entirely different but he was a practical man.

Today, this remains one of the gems of advice that he passed on. Use your time wisely. Fast forward, the day after a light drizzle or leaving your car out while the gardeners are doing their thing. Spend 5 minutes and dust it, no need to rewash and wax your car.

Just bought 2 of these as gifts and to my surprise, the kiddos never had a duster. I explained that you can quickly dust it and spent your time doing something else. Save that car wash money, the time, and rest assured that dust or drizzles won’t stop your shine!.

The cotton duster seems to be working ok. The first few weeks it left a lot of red threads all over the car which was annoying. That was something my old California Car duster never did. Now that it has collected dust on it, it is working better.

I bought this for a favorite car that admittedly only sees sunny days if possible. Between washes, this does a great job of dusting off and removing minimal smudges. The quality is excellent. Thick and safe for your car’s finish.

Another amazing product from GRIOT’S! I used the Microfiber car duster today for the first time and it is amazing to say the least. It removed ALL of the fine dust that was on my motorcycle and car. This duster is like a dust magnet leaving NO dust behind.

If your sitting on the fence about getting this I would definitely get this you will NOT be disappointed. I rarely do reviews but when a product does what it says and more I have to. I also have (2) of their smaller versions for smaller jobs.

I was so impressed with it that after I used it for the interior on my car I had to order another one. When you find something that works really well always buy (2) just incase it’s not available down the road.

This product will leave hundreds if not thousands of hair line scratches on your car’s paint no matter how frequently it’s put through the wash. If you have a light colored car you may not notice them.

If you have a dark colored car you will. They are not deep scratches and will come out but it will require waxing and or buffing depending on how OCD you are. A solid rule to follow in detailing is to never drag anything across the surface of your paint without some form of lubrication.

My vintage BMW is a light beige metallic. Used this duster on it a lot over the years and never noticed a problem. My vintage Porsche is a deep metallic burgundy. I so wish I never used this product on it.

I’m a bit surprised that anyone with expertise in detailing would recommend it. If your car is black absolutely forget about it. You will be sorry afterwards when you’re out with on a sunny day.

This duster does not collect dust like ones with waxy fibers. This duster pushes dust more than absorbs it. After a few uses I have gotten better at moving dust to an edge, then wiping it away with the duster.

One positive, this duster does not leave waxy streaks on the paint, so I will continue to use it.

The site picture is with black plastic handle but it came with a wooden handle. Otherwise it is the same quality duster.

I have been using the california duster for 20 years. I have never had this problem. It is leaving red lint specks all over the vehicle. Have you changed this product?

It may not be able to perform miracles like Jesus did, but regardless of that it’s still worthy of a 5 star review! If you read the instructions and have realistic expectations about the type of results you expect from it you’ll be quite happy.

Works great for quickly wiping fresh dust off a clean car. If you haven’t washed your Ford Taurus since ‘97 don’t expect to wipe it down with the California Duster once and have it shine like your neighbours freshly ceramic polished C8 Corvette! It works great for what it’s intended to be used for.

Definitely saves me money at the car wash rinsing dust off and time not having to dry it after!.

I rated 1 star not for brush it was for the packaging of the brush when I received it. It was delivered with a couple of other items in the box, in one separate order, I had ordered 2 of them. The first brush I received had no plastic covering on the cloth part of it and it didn’t have the little black bag that its supposed to come with to put the brush in.

It was just placed in the box as if was already used! Thereafter the second brush arrived the way it was suppose to be packaged plastic wrap around the cloth part and it was also in the little black bag that comes with the brush! I called customer service about how the first brush was packaged and received, I was told I could return it to a store.

I did just that, and exchanged it for another one that was properly covered in the plastic around the cloth part of the brush along with the little black bag for the brush to be put in for storage! Lastly, I had these brushes in past so I was well aware on how their supposed to arrive!.

This item is very simple. It is a micro fiber dust cloth on a stick and it does work well. I have seen these used at professional car detailers and it was impressive. So I got a few of these for my family and no more dusty dash boards.

Poorly Made. Cover comes off as soon as it’s wet. The foam core isn’t really big enough to fill it out.

Perfect size for my truck. Fits in glove box. Works great on dash and nice for cleaning the vents .. A+

I used to have a red one that had a paraffin product in the yarn that helped collect and hold the dust. This one does not seem to have the paraffin in the yarn and it doesn’t hold the dust. It just spreads the dust around.

NOT worth what I paid. Disappointing.

Small economical duster. Shake out any loose fibers before you start. This little gray duster is fine. Description says it comes with a storage bag. IT DOES NOT COME WITH A STORAGE BAG. Goes from 4 stars to 2 for false representations.

Car is in multi-level parking garage. Fast accumulation of dust and lots of it. Had one of these when living in SoCal and it was great. Lost it in the move to the Northwest. Easy to use, easy to store.

This duster does an excellent job. Very nicely made. I’m happy with it.

I love this product! It gracefully picks up all of the dust and lint around my car with little effort on my part. The duster is very soft, and comes with a nice carrying case. I just stick it in the pocket behind my seat and pull it out whenever I feel like I need to give my dash or my radio a quick rub down.

A total must have for a car!.

Another excellent Griots product for the auto enthusiast. High quality microfiber leaves no dust by removing it as it clings to the micro fibers. Easy to get into tight places in my car which is the reason I purchased it.

I bought this to help reduce the dust on a black car. It does the job fine. Water spots on a black car are difficult to remove for this but it is not specifically made for that purpose. It does leave a nice shine and I have used it to wipe dust from the inside windshield with great success.

fibers are a little short. brush needs a separate bag. the plastic display package is terrible !!! duster is ok on flat surface but leaves dust at the edges. price is a bit to high for the performance of product.

I just bought a new car and the pollen build-up was driving my crazy! Bought this swiffer and it couldn’t take off the smallest amount of pollen/dust. It seemed like all it did was push the stuff around on the car.

Guess I’ll have to go back to hand washing.

I absolutely love this scent. My husband got this for my birthday. The scent last forever!! I smell it in the laundry basket every day. I would definitely get this scent again. 100000% recommend!!!!

I go back to this scent over and over! 29 year old female. This is a beautiful scent and long lasting BUT it’s NOT over powering. Feminine, sexy, citrus and a tiny tiny hint of floral. I get complements all the time on this scent!.

I drive a GMC Terrain and try to keep it looking good on the inside as well as the outside. But every time I drove it, I would notice the passenger side of the dashboard was dusty. I would always promise to remind myself to wipe it down when I got home but always forgot.

(I couldn’t reach the far corner of the passenger side from my side. ) I bought this duster with some reservations but it works great! I can easily reach all of the dashboard now. I found this to be just what I needed!.
