20 Best Car Moisture Absorber (2022 Updated)

What I was looking for. a soft rechargeable dehumidifier pack that won’t scratch my gear in my camera bag. I’m switching to these because I’ve had metal dehumidifier packs open bouncing around my bag and had desiccant all over.

These seem tough. I’ve had them for a couple of weeks shooting out in weather and they haven’t needed to be recharged yet. Time will tell.

I have one of these in every hard case in which I store my cameras / lenses. I particularly appreciate the Soft material and design which is both gentle on equipment and cases and easily rests in virtually any Location in which I decide to Place this item.

I have Not had to Recycle any of these in 6 months of use in a High Humidity environment Definitely Recommend this Item.

Just received the dehumidifier pack. It was ‘blue’ in it’s sealed bag (assume it was ready to be used). I placed it in a non-sealed security safe some 5 days ago and it is still ‘blue’. Cannot comment on how long it will last before needing a ‘recharge’, but will try and remember to come back and report.

So far, so good.

I bought 2, 3-packs of the Concrobium Moisture Grabbers. I set out 3 packs in my 760 sq. ft. condo. which has an average humidity of around 42% in the colder months. I wanted to stop window condensation.

But, after only 2 days, the pouches have become gelled and you can no longer feel the beads inside them. In other words, they are used up. Can you imagine how much it would cost me to use these moisture grabbers for a full 7 months? I am beyond angry!!!.

I put one small Moisture Grabber in each of my potato and onion bins in the pantry as they make my veggies last much longer, not get mouldy, and stops the smell of the onions. I also put one in the fridge next to my brown bag of mushrooms and it stops them from getting moist and going off as fast too.

Lastly, I also array them around my basement to keep moisture and musty smells at bay. Excellent product, been hard to find the 3-pack of smaller ones lately, I guess due to covid transport backlogs.

Last summer I found these on sale and bought six or seven of them at once. I rent an apartment with the usual cheap bathroom fan that is insufficient to deal with the humidity generated so I was looking for something to help.

An extra large Moisture Grabber did next to nothing in my small bathroom and another in my bedroom had similar results. if you need humidity absorbed quickly then you are much better off buying a humidifier.

I did buy one and yes it costs money to run but I noticed I did not have to use my air conditioner as much. Moisture Grabber did do well inside a closet and two pieces of wooden furniture. The one in the closet helped absorb the dampness from clothing on rainy days.

A Moisture Grabber in a wooden wardrobe and a China cabinet worked so well to eliminate the wood’s seasonal expansion and contraction the doors opened properly without sticking for the first time in years.

I placed one of these on my dashboard and in less than two hours the windscreen that had been heavy with condensation was clear. The inside of the windscreen had previously appeared to have been sprayed with a hose pipe, it was that soaked.

The car had been left a couple of days and on previous occasions recently (winter in hill country – yes, it’s damp) and prior to driving away I’d spend considerable time with a wash leather, a microfibre cloth; plus, with the A/C operating at full blast.

But when I returned to the car with the second Car Dehumidifier Reusable Anti Mist Moisture Condensation Absorbing Bag the windscreen was totally clear – not a drop of moisture. Amazing! The reason I returned a couple of hours later to place the second bag in the car was that’s the time it took to refill it with the minute plastic beads and saw up the corner.

Both bags had apparently been checked as the grey bag had been ripped open. But fortunately each bag is separately sealed in a transparent plastic bag in which the tiny beads were swishing about. Using a small plastic funnel I was able to return the beads to the bag via the hole where it had not been stitched during manufacturing.

So quality control issues. And no instructions regarding using a microwave to dry the bags out, but they’re a bargain at least half the price of the branded Ping advertised elsewhere.

So far so good. I place them on the dashboard towards the corners so the reflection on the windscreen isn’t too distracting. Previously every time I got into my cold car, the windscreen would be misted up.

Now when I get in, the screens are either clear, or much clearer. I am assuming the bags are genuinely absorbing some of the moisture. Very pleasantly surprised at this great idea. I travelled with my Sister the day after and all her windows were steamed up throughout the journey and I recommended it to her.

Give it a try. If the car gets very misty, put a set at the rear windscreen as well.

Ive been using these items for over a year now and just purchased a couple more for various other locations. They do exactly as they say. They absorb the moisture and when the cicrcle goes pink and as they get older, more a lilac colour, just put in the microwave and theyre good to go again.

The ones I bought a year ago still work perfectly well. My cars never have misted windows now and if they do, its because Ive forgotten to put them in the microwave after forgetting for a few days. So no more having to waste time waiting for windows to clear in the mornings.

I put mine on the dashboard and then remove when I get in the car to drive or they will obviously fall off. I saw someone left a negative remark as they fell off the dashboard when driving. Of course they will! If thats an issue then put some Velcro on it.

These are great value for money and work brilliantly. But if your car leaks terribly, then these wont clear your moisture completely but then no dehumidifier would to be honest. Youd be best working out why your car leaks so much.

These will take the moisture from the car if you have a small leak or just the general moisture out of your car when you get in the car when its been raining and your clothes and shoes are wet. For that, these are excellent.

Brilliant product!.

No problems with moisture inside my car. I just leave it on the dashboard overnight and it absorbs the damp. After a frosty night I would get ice forming inside the windscreen but not had that problem since using this dehumidifier.

When it needs drying out I put it on a raiditor in the house for a few hours. So I am happy that I bought this.

Wasn’t really expecting much but these are much more effective than I thought they would be. Have recharged once and continue to be pleased with them.

Bought these dehumidifier bags for my campervan, it’s a ford transit type and prone to steaming up as the weather cools and on rainy days etc, Since putting these two bags in the van, one in the cab and one in the rear, I’ve not had any issues with condensation whatsoever, So, so far so good ! Nearly into winter now, so the next few months will tell for certain, however, given the horrendous weather we’ve been having of late, I don’t doubt that they really will prove they’re worth, I am quite confident that they will be up to the job, and the fact that once the reminder patch tells me that they are due to go into the microwave for a short time to make ready to go again is a real bonus.

Given the lack of condensation so far gives me the confidence to highly recommend these dehumidifier bags to anyone thinking of buying some.

Purchased two of these due to the car windscreen being very wet or frozen on the inside during very cold weather. Since putting one in the car there has not been this problem. Placed in front of gear lever not on dash.

Moisture should find its way to the bag where ever placed in the car. Very pleased with the purchase, especially the heavy duty purpose made bag. I have not had to recharge them yet, but dont see a problem as long as you follow the enclosed instructions.

Please note the inner bag with the silica gel in does not need removing from the outer bag when recharging, so should not cause any re-fitting issues as suggested in a couple of reviews. Have just ordered another two for my sons boat.

These damp eaters work wonders! The inside of the windscreen was always covered in condensation which was a nightmare to get rid of off, making us late on the school run and impossible to drive with when it was sunny.

The interior of the car also started go slickly mouldy due to the dampness. The damp eaters removed that. Just put them in the car and job done. Also easy to know when to recharge and simple to recharge as well.

I’m not a big review person, but I am so impressed with this, I’ve got to leave one. Running my dehumidifier in my older basement certainly reduces the humidity, but has never removed the stale smell from the room.

This product DOES! When I walk in my front door, I no longer smell that stale odor. Now I can ease up buying those cover up room fragrance products. Going to buy a bucket for my crawl space as well, and other areas that aren’t getting the best ventilation.

Sure glad I found this. I’m a believer.

Tip: put a date on the container (permanent marker) when you open it. I stuck this under the kitchen sink cabinet to keep it fresh and dry! It’s supposed to help any musty odors or prevent them. The dishwasher and plumbing is around or under there, so I figure it’s a good idea to place a bucket of this just in case excess humidity is formed by plumbing or the appliances giving off any steam.

I imagine it would work well in outdoor cabinets too! And humid environments. Or maybe in a room or large cabinets near the washer and dryer? Probably great in attic and will add one next time. Bucket lasts at least 6 months (prior one lasted over 9 months in a large cabinet system in humid state.

I only replaced it because it seemed like I should, but it still had potential to absorb more!).

Easy to set up and ignore while it does all of the hard work of removing humidity from your home. Clean up is as easy as replacing the plastic lid on top (which I always place underneath wherever I set the container down) to help dispose of it more safely and respectfully keeping everything that has been soaked up inside of it for a couple of months 100% secure and safe from possibly contaminating local flora/fauna/water.

Affordable price with incredible results! 10/10.

I have used damp rid for years and normally use the tubs that you have to refill with “pellets” and empty the liquid. I tried this version and I’m not a fan. 1. I felt silly because it gives you the impression that there is a fan inside, maybe battery operated one but no, it just looks like a fan and the air passes through without any additional motion.

2. I had to buy the fragrance free because the smell is far too powerful. 3. You must handle carefully. The bottom bucket and top do not click together and I have dropped the bottom bucket twice because if you don’t have the right hold, the bottom just drops down freely.

The liquid is thick so it’s hard to clean up. Yes, I read another review of a person saying the same thing about it being hard to pick up and rolled my eyes thinking oh, that’s silly, I know how to pick up a container but alas, I am one of those people who can’t seem to pick up a container correctly! I will not use this again.

Looks like a fan, but it’s not one. The “fan” is where the tablet sits. I assumed this would last as long as the closet bags, yet I was wrong. Within a week and a half the tablet fully melted. It does work… but with some caveats.

I made the mistake of placing this near my bed and it dried out my nasal passages. I’d wake up every morning blowing blood out of my nose. The container… feels cheap and flimsy. While assembling it I worried I’d break it.

The top hatch never fully closed. Wasn’t impressed.

So I bought the drop in container. I got one free tablet inside the box. It was great my closet doesn’t smell the damp anymore. And I got this pack for 2. They’re big size than the one that comes free with the container, which is good.

But few days using it, the tablets just broke inside the container, leaving a lot of residue, so I have to clean the container. I think that 2 tablets should be make it 3 smaller ones.

My rating is more of a 3. 5 stars. All winter long, I hardly had to empty any water. Now that it’s getting warmer, I am emptying water more often, so in that respect, the unit appears to be working fine.

What I don’t like is the emptying process as the unit sometimes comes apart, there is nothing locking the top half to the bottom half and upon opening the top to dump out the water, the tablet can come out, so I have to have 4 hands, basically, holding everything in place, just to dump the water.

I think the unit itself, needs to be redesigned. I bought a yr’s worth of tablets, so I’ll continue to use the 2 units until I run out of tablets and then I’ll either reorder more drop in tabs or find another solution.

We have a closet in our house that really suffers from dampness, possibly due to bad insulation and we been having issues with an unpleasant damp feel in the air for a while.

I have tried many products however, this seems to be a simple product that really works. After one week of use, I have definitely noticed a huge difference in the closet. The product comes in a good quality plastic tub and all you need to do, is empty the beads into the container, then walk away.

The scent of Lavender Vanilla is very pleasant, not too overpowering, which is important for a small place such as a closet. It is easy to tell when the beads need replacing also. This is a fantastic product that I thoroughly recommend to others.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI have been using Damp Rid for many years. It works great. I put these in rooms where there is too much humidity/dampness and you notice a moldy smell in the air.

They work especially well in the room near my houseplants. The stinky smell from the soil in the pots has gone away. The only complaints I have are I can no longer afford the high cost for the big bags of refills and they no longer come in the lavender/vanilla scent I liked.

I do recycle, so I can place the old Damp Rid containers in the recycling bin. But I preferred to keep refilling them instead of constantly buying new ones. A dehumidifier works best to remove dampness, but they cost a lot and your electric bill goes up.

These will keep your bill down and help a lot.

We live in an RV and it tends to hold humidity and moisture horribly. DampRid is our solution as opposed to an electric dehumidifier. These refill bags are wonderful, very easy to use, and last a long time.

Simply pour out liquid in existing DampRid container, open refill bag, pour crystals into container, completely reseal bag. That’s it! The Lavender Vanilla scent is my favorite and reminds me of fresh cleaned laundry.

Just another reason I love DampRid!.

I decided to give this dehumidifier a try, since the hanging bag style, that I used to buy was sold out. This one seems to work just as good. It does not leave a strong perfume smell in the camper, like the other one did.

This one has a reusable container, you just buy the refills. Less garbage, which is a bonus. And more cost effective. Depending on the size of the RV, you will probably need more than one. I had it in there about a month, still got most of the pellet stuff left.

It works as advertised.

I’ve always used damp-rid for my moisture issues. Being a little short on cash forced me to look for an alternative. I am so glad it did! This product works as well, if not better, than the aforementioned product.

The product design means you don’t lose pieces through the screen on your moisture collecting container. I use 4 containers due to the fact that the room I rent has severe moisture issues. Without them everything in the room feels wet to the touch.

This product pulls this unwanted moisture out of the air and keeps my items safe from mold and mildew. I highly recommend it for cost and efficacy. Do not hesitate to purchase this over your normal brand.

The set up instructions are very poor, they need to be better explained for proper set up. Both myself and my adult son could not figure it out. I do not believe we did it correctly as I do not notice any humidity or odor difference in my basement.

I purchased two of them and feel I pretty much wasted my money. Won’t buy them again.

I have used Dri-Z-Air for the last three years during winterization. I set it in the sink so if it overflows it will go down the sink. It has never overflowed. There is no musty smell in my camper in the Spring.

The only concern I have is when I throw the liquid out in the Spring the grass dies where I through the liquid.

This stuff is amazing! I don’t know how to live without it. No more damp basemant!

For some reason it keeps separating at the top maybe there was too much in it not sure but they do work good

The DampRid tubs definitely collect unseen moisture. Besides the obvious bathroom and toilet closet moisture, these tubs collect moisture everywhere – clothes closets, laundry room, hallways, etc. Their bottom section fills with water more often in the moisture-prone areas.

For my preference, the tubs need to be changed sooner than indicated on the package directions due to Florida weather. The tub only has one area to see the amount of water collected. I’m never without the DampRid tubs in my house.

I didn’t realize how much moisture was in the air until I used a few of these. I use them in the laundry room, close to the kitchen and in the closets.

After putting a couple of these in my basement I do not smell the musty smell anymore and my clothes don’t have that musty smell like before. My washer and dryer are in the basement and my clothes used to come out smelling musty.

I know this product works, so this rating is not for the product (rated 5 in my estimation), but the packing in the shipping box was very inadequate. The box was full of granules that had escaped from one burst container.

This happened early enough in the shipping process for the granules to be swollen with water from humidity, and the inside of the box was very wet. Fortunately the paper seal was mostly intact and held the majority of the contents inside and the product was still usable.

Better shipping packaging requested next time, please.

I have a two story house that gets a little bit of musty smell from the attics. These really help suck out moisture in places that the dehumidifier cant reach. I put these in my attic spaces. Super super easy to use (just take off the lid) and to discard (put the lid back on).

I also use the hanging DampRid bags in the closet that smell amazing.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleNo local store has this in stock, so I had to order it to be shipped to me. I was skeptical about how well it would ship, and in fact the lid of the jug (made of a different kind of plastic than the body) did crack during shipment.

A small amount of crystals leaked out into the box and started attracting moisture. Fortunately, it only took a few days in shipment, and it’s not as humid as it was earlier this summer, so the box didn’t soak through and remained intact.

If Wal-mart isn’t going to sell this in local stores, they need to find a better way of shipping it.

For decades I had to plan ahead so I could air out holiday decorations because they’d come out of the shed smelling like the shed. No more! DampRid does what Dri-z-Air couldn’t. Get the refillable containers and use this to refill them -very economical and super effective.

Scented DampRid is nice, too. I use the lavender vanilla for the bathroom.

However, my mother created a little system where she uses the small plastic bowls with the lid turned upside down. She punches holes in the lids and then puts the white chrystals in the lid. When there is moisture in the air the bottom of the bowls fill up with water and they dump it out on a regular basis.

She uses the damp rid hangers in the closets and refills those bags with these crystals. This works and is a money saver. I gift them 10 containers at a time and it lasts them all year long Great product- highly recommend.

Thanks to The TryIt Sampling Program I received this DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber, complimentary in exchange for my honest review. Originally, I thought these would be super nifty for my small home in South Carolina, where humidity is extremely high, so naturally it’s quite humid inside my home as well.

I found these Hanging Moisture Absorbers a bit of a nuisance in more ways than one. First of all, they are insanely huge. I imagined they wouldn’t be so big and noticeable. Secondly and most importantly, I didn’t notice any change in moisture levels in my very small home whatsoever, so I was disappointed.

Also, I have 1 cat and 2 small dogs and although this product is hangable and no where near the floor for my dogs to get to, my cat loves to explore high and low, and after 2 weeks of using it, I never noticed any of my pets trying to get to it, but it still worried me constantly, and finally I couldnt bear the anxiety anymore and took it down.

These hanging packets of Damp Rid are a must-have in my home. I live in Florida and live about a two miles from the beach. My home tends to feel humid, especially the bathrooms and closets. They attract and trap moisture quickly.

They also take away the musty orders. The fresh scene is a nice touch. However, it’s not important to me. Just hang it and let is do it’s job. I will be purchasing more in the future and no longer feel the need to use the containers.

I use it in storage containers, parked cars, trucks, and campers. Works great on keeping the moisture down to a minimum. Collected leftover accumulated water is great for weed/ground killer.

I really like the damprid product. Was really surprised at how much moisture was in container. The scent is nice and not over whelming.

I have been using DampRid products for years because they have always been of a wonderful and exceptional quality, and this product is certainly no exception to that rule. It does a perfect job with moisture absorption and very much in protecting against mold and mildew from growing in my house.

I’m highly impressed with this product, I was shocked how much it absorbs! I Definitely recommend this, you won’t be disappointed!! Also, don’t throw away the those containers! You can separately buy online at walmart a 2lb bag of those absorbing moisture beads to refill.

I use these in my camera bag. This company also makes the smaller 10g packets which I use in my lens containers. It works great to avoid the nasty fungus that destroys expensive cameras and lenses. Buy some of this stuff.

It’s very reasonable and works well. Don’t forget to check it to replenish it when it becomes saturated with dampness.

good construction and rechargeable ,when full of moisture just heat in oven follow directions on canister. Nice indicator color change from orange to green when they need recharge. take out of oven and put in small sealed container till they cool off, so they don’t start absorbing all the moisture in the air, then when cool replace in the storage area your are protecting from moisture and close lid.

work good for ammo crates and safes.

A little small, but works for my 12 gun safe. I’ll see how fast it takes until I need to recharge it.

For winter storage of seasonal vehicles, mold can form I side the cab area due to darkness and even slight moisture present in the air. We leave one of these moisture grabber packets in the cab of the car over the winter, as well as for periods when the car is not used frequently.

Because the cab space is a relatively small volume, and fairly tight from air ingress, one pack will last 3-4 months at keeping the air inside dry enough to prevent mold formation. They are a fantastic product for this usage!!.

Great moisture absorbing properties. I use these when storing my vehicle over the winter months. One in the cabin, one in the trunk. Helps to protect your vehicle from excessive moisture during storage.

I had quite a bit of water in my car. I left one of these on a baking rack under my seat for a week. I’m not sure how fast it worked as I left it there for a week, but by the end of the week it was super heavy and had absorbed a lot of water.

We recently moved into a new (old) house, and the walls were literally dripping any time we hung laundry with the heat on! I ordered one of these as didn’t want our electricity bill going any higher, and it was a great purchase! We haven’t had any drips since, and the little guy is half full of fluid already after around a month of use which just shows how well it is working.

I have since discovered that the liquid/insert are toxic which is slightly worrying, but for now it needs to be used so I will carry on!.

I am perplexed by some of the reviews below. I purchased one of these to sit in a camper van located in a wet field in the middle of a Cornish winter. After 1 month this damp absorber had gathered at least half a litre of water from the air in its container, water that would otherwise have caused all manner of damp related issues.

Dont buy this thinking it is a dehumidifier and is going to make hot air feel more comfortable – It wont! What it will do is extract water from the air in still, isolated places that might cause damp.

On here to buy some refils to keep it going.

I bought seven of these at a reduced price to put in all the rooms and on the landing of a small, three bedroom house that has a condensation /black mould issue. We will obviously have to address the root cause of the problem , which appears to be lack of insulation in the eaves , but they are certainly doing a good job in the meantime of collecting a lot of moisture, which in turn, definitely slows down the growth of mould.

We’ve had them working for 3 weeks so far and I guess we will probably have to put new tabs in after around 5 weeks, due to the quantity of moisture at this time of year. I’m guessing that this product probably suits smaller rooms, which we have.
