20 Best Car Neck Pillow (2022 Updated)

For at least a dozen years, I’ve gifted this pillow to my adult daughter. She has come to rely solely on it for being able to find some relief for her neck pain. She has had back issues and severe neck pain since her teen years, due to her spinal formation.

After, then, being injured in an automobile accident, she found it impossible to find any comfort at all. The original pillow has been a lifesaver, and each year she relies on getting a new one, which I gladly purchase for her.

There are similar configurations of neck pillows out there, but none of them can come close to doing what this one does. Please, never stop manufacturing Tempur-Pedic travel pillows. God bless.

Incredibly stiff / uncomfortable and small. Wife and I both agreed it felt like we were being choked. Stopped wearing it after an hour on a 10hr red eye flight. Horrible purchase. If they offered sizes, this would be considered an extra small.

Maybe it’s good for a child but not a grown adult. We own a tempurpedic mattress topper and pillows and love them. The travel pillow was the biggest waste of money I’ve spent in years. Shocked they even sell this product.

AVOID!.

I had an old tempur pedic travel pillow that I used for years and was really amazing, unfortunately that pillow was lost and I ordered 2 new ones to replace my old one. The new pillows don’t come near to the quality and feel of the old one.

The new pillows feels like a cheap knockoff from malls or catalogs. the foam they use is super soft not firm, and is just plain horrible, I called customer service and their reply was since its just a pillow there is no return policy or no satisfaction guarantee.

Stay away from this pillow, its not worth paying the extra money.

My summer job requires I drive at night and sleep during the day. With luggage limited to one suitcase, I needed something that would travel well. Imagine falling asleep on the beach with your head resting on the ramparts of a sand castle.

The sand gradually conforms to the weight of your head. That is exactly how I fall asleep each morning after driving all night. And best thing is, I can pack it up that night in it’s own little bag and look forward to the next morning when it pops out of its bag and is ready for another day of dreams.

Its big brother (a regular size tempur-pedic pillow) is back home waiting to hear of little brother’s traveling adventures.

I used to wake up to muscle spasms and pinched nerves pretty regularly in equal-opportunity locals all along the back of neck/shoulders. Apparently I like to get myself in challenging sleep positions that my neck and shoulders don’t appreciate the artistry of.

It was painful. This little pillow which I have named (“Peanut”) because I love it so much has ELIMINATED that problem. I am not claiming it will do the same for you, but I highly recommend giving it a try.

It is so comfortable and beautifully supports your neck while sitting/reclining in a chair or as a pillow for bedtime. Good work Tempur-Pedic!.

Had this neck pillow about 3 months. Upon receipt, the zipper never worked to remove the cover for washing. Shortly after arrival, one of the string pulls came out. Was able to re-attach. Now one of the other seams is coming apart.

Don’t know if my product defective or not. I was hoping for a pillow that would last a while. If you are looking for a disposable neck pillow, this will work. It’s comfortable and my doctor likes the results.

Now looking for another pillow to help support my neck.

I have at least six travel pillows. I am constantly looking for one that works. Finally I found it. I like the good support, the dip for the neck in the back and that it folds up into a small bag.

Bought this for a 14 hour international flight and it was great. Folds up small and expands nicely. I got a full night’s sleep thanks to this great inexpensive purchase.

I never sleep on planes. Even those long flights from LA to Europe. I just can’t sleep. I’ve tried a few different travel pillows and they don’t really support my neck well enough, so I wake up every time I start to nod off.

It’s frustrating and exhausting. So when we were planning a trip to South Africa (30 hours total travel, including a layover in London) I knew I was going to have to figure out how to sleep. This travel pillow was a game changer.

It’s very soft, breathable, and firm enough to hold up your neck and head. It also sits a bit higher, so it sort of cradles you in a comfy position. I slept for 7 hours straight. That has never happened.

I arrived bright eyed and ready to high the ground running, instead of exhausted and needing to waste a day catching up. Win! I loaned it to my son last night. He was flying back to NY from LA on a redeye and needed to head straight to work shortly after arrival.

He called me this morning to tell me he slept the entire flight. This is a great travel pillow.

I have and still use the original. They are calling these pillows the original, but they are not. The foam density has been greatly reduced. My guess is the weight has been reduced 2/3. Should not be advertised as original when in fact they are not.

I purchased these 2 because I really like the original. especially the weight.

18 hour flight with this wasn’t so miserable. It is sturdy, but soft and can roll into a travel bag. It attaches to the seat so it secures your neck. No more bobbing your head as it falls forward or to the sides.

I bought this for use with a recent long trip to Italy. Other neck supports that I have had were either too thick or not enough support but this pillow fit my neck well with soft but supportive foam.

The addition of the hood was a welcome bonus when the plane got a bit to cool for me.

I have not used the product as yet but I know it’s going to be good. I bought it for my long trip in the next few months. The airlines are usually very cold so the hood will be a welcome bonus.

I finally found my solution to those filthy, gross, greasy seats on trains/buses/airplanes. I am a girl with long hair, I`m not a neat freak but I always hate to put my head against the seat backs that ten thousands people have also put their heads on before.

Who knows if the flight attendants ever clean them. I always travel with a hoodie just so theres something between my neck and the seat back and This Pillow Is the Perfect Solution. Not only does it have a hood that I have been looking for, the pillow itself is extremely soft and fluffy, just as good as a Tempur Pedic one.

Highly recommended.

I bought this neck pillow to use when lying back in my recliner because I suffer from chronic tension headaches and disc issues in my neck. I was looking for a way to keep my head and neck aligned, and I decided to try this bone-shaped pillow.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pillow. It is one solid piece of firm memory foam with a soft cover that unzips for washing. The pillow is the perfect shape, and it helps me to be more comfortable when relaxing and watching TV.

Washes well by hand in cold water. Only slight complaint is that is smells of chemicals when package is first opened. However, airing it out for a few days to allow it to out-gas does the trick. Highly recommended.

For some reason I just couldn’t get comfortable with this pillow. I kept hitting other passengers in the face with the end as I struggled to get comfy. One leg of my trip was a window seat and this is where it worked the best, but aisle seats were tough.

I should state that I flew on Spirit and Frontier, two LOW budget airlines, where the seats DO NOT RECLINE and the rows of seats are likely as close together as the FAA will allow. On American or Delta this might be a completely different experience.

I should also state that all of my flights were COMPLETELY full and one was actually overbooked, so we really were crammed in like sardines. I will revisit this review after my next flight (which will NOT be on Spirit or Frontier) and hopefully be able to bump it up.

We’ve all seen people walking around airports wearing those bulky donut neck pillows, probably because they can’t fit them in their bags, and I’ve never seen the big value of those, since my biggest priorities are: – a pillow that I can easily pack small – a pillow that is comfortable for a variety of sleeping positions/scenarios.

This Travelrest product has really impressed me, and I’m very glad I found and tried it because it’s the best I’ve seen for my 2 priorities after considering every option I could fine. The deflation helps me pack this super tight into any pack, or even a pocket, and it can even attach outside a pack if needed with minimal space taken.

I was concerned about how it inflates, but I can easily do it all in 1-2 breaths (I have decent lung capacity) Then the shape of this pillow works for any airplane scenario – aisle, middle, or window.

I even keep this in my car when I’m not on a plane in case I need to sneak in a car nap. It’s even come with me on camping trips too. I travel a lot, and this as been a life-saver. Many people even ask me about it when they see me using it.

I purchased this pillow when it first came on the market. As I cannot sleep on a plane this pillow works and I have traveled all over the world. With this pillow I can nap. I lost it when I returned from Australia probably at customs, so in July I purchased a new one and in August I purchased the the cover which made a good pillow awesome.

The problem was I could not snap the cover on it so I called customer service and spoke to Teri who promptly took care of it. I am planning a trip which includes 16 hours on a plane, without this pillow I would not get any rest and arrive at my destination and be sick.

I am over 70 and highly recommend this product and company. I am not ready to stop traveling and this pillow keeps me going.

I like the feel and color very much. Very cute. It won’t fit over a recliner back not even close. It is advertised for a car seat so it will do what is advertised and it is very neat looking. It looks nicer in person than the pic to me.

I bought it in gray. It is TINY so make sure you read the specs before you decide. It is medium soft. As advertised!.

I use for my lower back. Fits perfect in small of my my back. Is not flat so gives plenty of support. Well worth the money. Have spent lots more money on pillows like this that were not anywhere as good as this one is.

The elastic that is supposed to hold it on the chair is sooo short. it wouldn’t even work on a childs chair. A waste of money. Don’t bother with it. Now is have to spend money to replace the elastic.

I tried this on at home, and while the foam is good it suffers from the same problem as all neck/head travel support pillows — it cannot prevent your head from tilting too much to the side or to the front.

I am 6′ 1” with a fairly long neck. All of the weight of the head it above the ears, and unless the upper part of the head is supported, it doesn’t matter too much what is below it. I have a Turtl travel head rest gizmo and put it on, and it gave just as much or more support than this Cushion Lab one.

I then even tried using both at once (Cushion Lab’s wrapped around 2nd, that is, exterior to Turtl one), and when I removed the Cushion Lab one, there was no less support to my head (that is, the Turtl was doing all the work).

In the end, it might depend on how far back you can recline your seat on a flight. If you can recline enough, then the travel pillow might be able to add support.

I was so hopeful when I stumbled across this travel pillow. I have a long-haul trip coming up and while I have a neck pillow, I wanted to find something more ergonomic and packable. When I found Cushion Lab, I thought Ta-Da!!! Nope.

I’ve tried both the medium and large sizes. neither fit. I think you have to be a very long-necked person to make this one work. I am not, so there was no way to get it on comfortably let alone imagine wearing it for a long flight.

Customer Service isn’t great either. while very responsive, I have to cover the costs to return the pillow – not ideal in 2022. I will say that on the Medium size, they offered a 60% refund instead of returning.

which I thought was fair and accepted, but now that I’ve also got the large to return. I’m going to incur more costs and still end up with a pillow that will end up in a yard sale or something. Too bad – I had high hopes.

I have tried MANY travel pillows all with excellent reviews from users. None of them worked for me until I decided to make one last attempt at purchasing a travel pillow that would work for me. That pillow was the cushion lab.

It adapts to the size of short, thin neck better than any pillow I’ve tried. I’ve since bought two more as gifts and the recipients love them. When we arrive at our destination the pillow becomes the cushion I put between my knees because I am a side sleeper.

I’m also very impressed with the company’s customer service. They respond quickly and are more accommodating than most online vendors I’ve worked with.

I love this pillow. Sad to say, I’ve had about 5 of these, but I keep leaving them somewhere on my trips! It is so easy to inflate/deflate to your liking – just twist the cap. I use it as a bed pillow and a lumbar support on a plane or in a car.

It deflates flat by twisting the cap, rolling it up, twist cap again, then press flat. I only wish it had a wrist band/luggage tie – then I wouldn’t lose it on the way :).

I bought this pillow because airline seats are the worst. They dont have any lumbar support so I often find my self hunching over in the seat. This little pillow is the perfect solution, and it doesnt take up any room in my carry on.

This is a perfect pillow for airline travel. It’s great because it condenses into a small bag and leaves more room for other carryon items.

I suffer from horrible migraines, anyone that has them can tell you that a soft supportive pillow can make or break your throbbing head! I already have SN’s Comfort Fit pillows which indeed are incredible pillows in their own right, but I needed a little more snug around the neck.

So my husband bought me one for Valentine’s day and the next day I was hit with one of my headache’s, so it couldn’t have come at a better time!! It was absolutely amazing!! It gave me the support and softness I needed to help me recover! I started taking it with me in the car because you never know when one of these darn things will hit you! I’m happy to report that I haven’t had a headache while we were out and about yet, but it’s so comfortable who needs an excuse to use it in the car lol I plan on buying a 2nd one to keep in the car and a 3rd for my husband! He has a lot of problems and pain in his back and neck and he has been using it while sitting in our incredible massage chair.

You see what happened here right? Leave it to a man to buy a present for you, that he himself wants lol just kidding, I have an amazing husband, I just couldn’t resist, cause their are women out there that already were thinking just that lol : ).

Purchased this for neck support since spending the next 6-8 weeks on bed rest w/ hip fracture. Assumed would be reasonably nice or suitable since it’s from Sleep Number, good reviews (questioning legitimacy), and not cheap.

Boy was I wrong—it is literally made w/ a $1. 50 worth of poly-fil and a small mediocre pillow case. My wife’s $9 off brand travel neck pillow was of better quality. Small, lumpy, and of inferior quality.

The best part is that my wife tried to return since still had tags on it (and was used for 3 min before determining it was trash). No returns—exchanges only—well I bought this for a specific purpose and I don’t need any of your other accessories (especially if they are like the neck pillow).

Way to stand by your product. We were considering a Sleep Number for our next bed—not now. Donating this to a Goodwill or homeless person!.

I bought this travel pillow in April for air travel. Haven’t traveled due to covid. My elderly mother came to visit and was tired and wanted to nap on the couch but not lay down. Her head kept bobbing, so I pulled out this pillow and she said it was wonderful, comfortable, soft and offered support.

I sometimes have neck issues and so I tried it the next night and can’t agree more! No waiting to travel to use; using it now!.

I got this so that my baby’s head would be supported in the car seat. It’s not only functional, it’s also adorable! She should be able to use it for a while (she’s 3 months now). So cute!

Bought this for my nephew, who’s almost 6 months old, for Easter. Can’t wait to see if this works for napping in the car seat. The ears on the elephant may get in the way, or they may be a good for teething.

We shall see.

This is the cutest. My kids have a cabin in the woods and I got this for grandson due any day. When they opened the box they loved it from first sight. It is so soft and perfect for a baby to use.

I had major cervical neck surgery on ever level. My neck is held together with nuts and bolts. The surgery left me unable to tilt my head back or to turn it left or right. This put terrible stress on my neck and shoulders and unable to watch television or read.

I received my pillow and the first time I used it felt instant relief in both my neck and shoulders. I am waiting for the cranberry to restock and I am going to reorder a second one.

I love Sherpa products as they are soft, but have some firmness other products are lacking. I sleep in my recliner at night. This pillow is perfect for me as I have neck problems. I ordered two in brown as I have two brown recliners.

Look nice with my furniture. These are much better quality than the fabric neck pillows I have had over the years. I would definitely purchase again.

I use it with a slanted back support to read and watch TV. It is so comfortable but the perfect firmness to support my neck perfectly. So glad I found “Easy Comforts !!!!!’

He loves it! Just the right amount of cushion. It also helps drown out noise when worn like a headband. A major plus. He likes that it fits around his neck comfortably, so no head bobbing with this. It’s not stiff, but just the right amount of support for him.

He thinks it’s much cooler looking than leading brand neck pillows which he refuses to use or attach to his nice looking back pack. Great for medium to large size persons. My husband is a lg/xl Cons: Not for anyone petite!! It has zero neck support for smaller size necks! Probably not good for long thin necks either.

Even tho it’s like a scarf around my neck, (haha) it is comfy worn around my head and is adjustable but I wouldn’t want to mess up my hair doo. I think worn as a headband it can fit anyone but not so with neck support.

This pillow covers my eyes very comfortably and is additional cushioning at back of my head on my regular pillows. So very soft but really sturdy. Awesome, wonderful and best buy ever!!!!.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleI never (almost) write reviews, but I wanted to assuage some of the worries about this product. First, it is really comfortable and soothing. I used to use an eye pillow with seeds or something in it.

I had to be balanced perfectly, but was great for shuting out the dark and applied a soothing pressure and sense of security. The Ostrich pillow does all that, but does not slip. It is easily washable by hand, but doesn’t really get dirty.

The lower rim provides a perfect breathing space, so one does not get calostrophobic, or drip snot and drool everywhere. It has enough ventilation not to get steamy or sweaty. I use it mainly at home.

If you travelwith it a bag woud be nice. The material is very soft. It doesn’t really cover my ears so I can still hear. The only thing that I would change, and probably will do it myself: the size adjuster is a bit uncomfortable on the back of the head, when lying back.

The concept is good, just using a cloth pull instead of a plastic bead would solve the problem.

It’s lovely. Very lightweight and adaptable for different situations. The filling is even softer than I thought it would be and it is easy to manipulate for anyone with health issues. It’s washable too and I’m very pleased with it.

I think it will be useful on long car/rail trips – our grand daughter lives a long distance away and is always uncomfortable on car journeys. hopefully this will help her get more comfortable.

I bought this to help me sleep better on my back & wow it is amazing, supports my head, very soft & comfy. My mother in law has also now got 1 & I have just ordered 1 for my boyfriend. Worth every penny.

Truly the best product ever. I bought one for my car back in 2019 and loved it so I ended up buying a second one today for the passenger seat. This makes driving or riding as a passenger so much more comfortable.

Truly does support your neck. Don’t let the lower star reviews fool you. I can highly recommend this product. Yes the straps does sometimes come undone but I ended up taping the straps with scotch tape and no issues at all.

Good for bucket seats without detachable neck rest. I was worried this wouldn’t fit over by seats head rest because it is not detachable like most cars (2020 Civic SI). However – this fits perfectly – is adjustable length and has a clip so you don’t have to slip it on from above.

Slightly smaller than I wanted and a bit too squishy for my taste but works great.
