20 Best Car Odor Eliminator (2022 Updated)

I’m obsessed with this stuff. My husband and I quit smoking 4 years ago and our cars still smelled so badly of smoke. Even after having them detailed and literally every inch of the cars scrubbed. I ran one of these approximately once a month for about 3 months.

Along with keeping the windows open in the garage, the smoke smell completely went away (and trust me, an ex-smoker can smell cigarettes from a mile away so I KNOW the smell was gone). I have continued to use this over the years because it just helps freshen up any car!.

I bought this air freshener around Christmas for myself, and used it thinking it was an excellent idea, but it wasn’t. At first my car did smell good, but soon after it started smelling sour like vinegar.

My girlfriend also used this exact freshener later, and soon enough her car started smelling like vinegar. I replaced my cabin air filter, and still have a hint of vinegar smell inside of my vehicle.

I drive a 19 mustang, and she drives a Malibu, so I have no idea as to why it made our vehicles smell like vinegar.

I super cleaned the second hand car I got 2 months back but could never get rid of the odor residue. Not sure if the previous owner has ever carried a dog with the car. Anyway, the Meguiar fixed it for me.

This review is a week after i used it and still works. Hey a note, only turn on the air circulation and keep the AC off. I reckon turning AC on will condensate the product prematurely.

I use to smoke in my car, i know absolutely disgusting habit. I quit smoking i couldn’t stand being in my car for very long with the way it smelled. I bought this a few weeks ago and decided to give them a try! You literally just start your car and turn the air on and set it off with the windows up.

Afterwards turn your car off and leave the doors open for a few! I’m beyond happy i bought it this! The smell of the cigarettes are barely noticeable. I can now drive my car without rolling my windows down now without feeling sick to my stomach.

You will not regret buying.

I have used this product several times with great success! I used it to get rid of the smoke smell in a used car, and also the mildew smell I had after I had a water leak in a car. It is great at eliminating those unwanted odors in vehicles and I highly recommend it! Also for the price, it is the least expensive way to successfully rid yourself of a stinky vehicle !.

Does a great job if you never plan on smoking in the car again. I used it in succession with the vent duct cleaner, interior smells incredible. Smells like the (black) tree you hang on your rear view.

On the downside of this review, I have not been able to find the product in weeks. Seems that all the stores around me sold out and didn’t re order.

I recently purchased a car and you could tell the previous owner had smoked quite heavily in it, I was inside Dollar General trying to find one of those car clip ins (until I can get it fully detailed and new filters in it, which is a 200$+ job I might add!) and happened to stumble upon this beauty! She was 5$ and took 25 mins from start to beginning to use it, and let me just say, I can OFFICIALLY use my air conditioner without having to have my windows all the way down as well lol! This has inspired me to try other car/detail products so I don’t have to drop 200*$ anyone have any recommendations for cleaning cloth interior and getting into the little spaces every where!? Or should I just pay it once to get it all cleaned and done and then maintain it!?? I’m just afraid the smell is to deep to really get rid of all together! Today is just day one, so I guess I’ll be back in a few days to update more.

I’m not a smoker but I’ve used this in one of my vehicles that smelled like wet dog, because I used ti take that dog everywhere. I just used a can of it like a spray bottle to eliminate any odor in a house i am selling.

The house has never been smoked in but everyone has an odor of some sort. If you think you don’t just ask someone. Not all are a bad smell but we all have a scent and when you’re selling a house you don’t want to smell the previous owners.

I wish they would make a larger bottle though. Give it a shot. You’ll like it.

I am amazed with the results of Armor All Freshfx Rapid Odor Eliminator. it really works on the toughest odors. My car has had the foulest odor since August, and it is now January. It started when I bought a container of chicken liver for my husband to use as fish bait.

I unloaded that day’s groceries from my backseat, not realizing that the round container of raw chicken liver had rolled out of a bag and gotten under the backseat. The car was not driven again for three days.

In August. In the heat. By the time I needed to drive the car again, I opened the door to an unbelievable foulness. The air inside the car was nearly green with the stink. I am not kidding. I found the container of chicken liver, and saw that the “juices” had leaked on the carpet.

I tossed the chicken liver, opened all doors and windows, and set to scrubbing the carpet with bleach and baking soda. It didn’t help. Over the months, the stink has sort of faded, but it has remained in the car.

Especially on warm days, and now that I am using the car heater. Heat reinvigorates the foulness. I have been embarrassed to have anyone else ride in my car with me. Then, I tried Armor All Freshfx Rapid Odor Eliminator.

It does just what the name implies: it eliminates odors. I can honestly say that the chicken liver stink is gone!!! This is a miracle! It is so easy to use. One simply opens the can, sets it on the console, and closes the car while the A/C runs.

That’s it! The product takes care of the rest. When I opened the car to remove the can, the car smelled good. I then left the windows open for a bit to air out the car, per the instructions on the can.

Now, a week later, the car is still fresh smelling with no hint of the stink trying to linger. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for this product. I highly recommend it to anyone with big, or small, odor issues in their vehicle.

My issue was huge, and now it is completely gone. Thank you Armor All for creating this miraculous product! It is life-changing.

Grabbed this one today as well as the car wash as I was curious with the reviews on other sites saying it smelled good/like perfume. This smells exactly like a toned down version of what Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male ETD smells like to me, at least my memory of it.

the only difference being I actually really enjoy it on the car instead of me. As far as duration goes I sprayed this in my decently clean car and it was mostly gone by the time I came out of the shops after 30 mins.

No worries though you get so much for the price you can just reapply every time your car gets a bit stanky. As far as odor removal I’d be surprised if it did that but I’m not saying it doesn’t as I haven’t really tested it in that way.

Overall I’d definitely continue to buy this and only knock it down a star because it fades too fast but I’d give it an extra. 5 if i could cause there’s so much of it.

This is the best car air freshener I’ve ever used. Not only does it have a very pleasant smell, but the scent remains in the vehicle for up to a week with only 8-10 pumps. I’ve noticed other reviewers complain about Chemical Guys products leaking and have found this with every pump pack of theirs I’ve used.

Chemical Guys really needs to find a new supplier for their packaging!.

Odium is like magic when it comes to removing unwanted odors. I put this in my car so that it can remove any smoke smell and it definitely works. I open it overnight after smoking and the next morning any trace of smoke is GONE.

It’s the best air freshener, you won’t need to spray anything or use it with any other freshener because it works wonders on its own.

This works pretty well. Not going to lie I thought this wouldn’t work at all, but it’s great for small spaces, like your vehicle. I needed something to get the odor out of my car after not cleaning it for weeks.

My friend came in my car and said you’re car smells so clean it smells like Cinnamon after I cleaned it Lol. Don’t think it smells like that, but works nicely. I would buy another one. Just buy it at Walmart because it’s cheaper.

I received this product about a week ago and put it to use immediately. It works wonderfully! It has a very strong and unique smell when it is sprayed so you do not want to sit in the car immediately after spraying it.

However, after a little bit its strong odor diminishes and your car will smell very clean. It eliminated even the strongest smells that had been in the fabric for a very long time. The can is also fairly large so it can be used many times if needed.

The spray cap is a little tricky to use and that is the one complaint with the product. It is hard to spray without having the cap lock in the spraying mode which is then difficult to pop back so that it stops spraying.

While this feature is mildly annoying, the product overall is great and I will continue using it to remove any odors!.

I let someone borrow my vehicle and they left it smelling horrible 🤢 It reeked like weed! I tried several products but none worked. This is the only one that got the smell out. I highly recommend it.

I have previously used this product to great success. However on this occasion the locking mechanism was faulty and i had to discharge the product manually. This made the product less effective as i had to keep the vehicle door open to operate it, the oder bomb was less successful as previous uses.

Provider was made aware of this but unfortunately informed me this is “not a fault” and no compensation could be provided. From experience this is a great product, but buy from another provider to guarantee success.

Had mildew in my new car from a water leak. Dried it out but numerous air fresheners products later and smell still there. I bought this and let the whole bomb go off in the car. The smell was so strong and had to have windows open when I drove it for at least three days after.

The smell was very chemical like disinfectant. After about a week the smell died down and two weeks later it smells great and it seems the old smell has gone. I’m glad I used the full bomb as it got rid of the bad smell for good.

I might try a different one in a few months to see what they smell like. Overall it’s probably cheaper than keep buying rubbish air fresheners every few weeks. I’m really happy with these products.

I think these things are more intended for house rooms with more space for the scented foam to spread in. My car smells of cigarettes from the previous owner so I bought two of these and let one off in my car like it shows in the advert photo.

It’s a BMW 7-Series so quite big and roomy inside! Well, I’ve never seen so much of the white foam all over my car, on the leather seats, the centre arm rest, my steering wheel, on the dash board, in the air vents, it was EVERYWHERE! Not at all what I expected!! I had to wipe it down with a towel as it was soaking, all over! Okay, for the first couple of weeks the smell was better, a bit fusty or ‘dusty’ smelling, not the Nappa Berry I’d hoped for! Regardless, after a couple of weeks the cigarette smells started coming back and it isn’t any better today than before I used it a month ago.

Very disappointed.

Had been boat fishing with a group of friends,got home unpacked car. went back to car a few days later. oh my dayscant begin to explain the horrendous smell. i used standard household air fresheners.

to no avail. After searching Ebay and the Dakota range. I chose a lemon and lime air bomb. absolutely fantastic. Totally eliminated the smell. used about a third of a tin,so plenty left. its been fresh and scented for weeks now.

Decided to try this product in my car to rid it of smoking odors. First thoroughly vacuumed it out, washed mats and conditioned the leather seats. Sprayed the Dakota on the carpeting [lightly] and in the car’s interior.

At first the odor was somewhat strong but dissipated within a couple of hours. Days after, in entering the car, it has a fresh and clean scent – somewhat like that of a new car though not quite the same.

In any event, it worked very well and am pleased. Plan to use it indoors as well once walls are washed and curtains are cleaned. It is a good product and needs only be used sparingly.

I will be buying more it’s a smell you can’t discribe and the wheel cleaner is also fantastic

Armor all fresh odor eliminator works well, IF you follow the instructions and don’t try to rush the process. If you have pets or if you smoke or eat while sitting in the car, this is a must! Pros: My car has no bad smells anymore, I got a few compliments too.

smell will last for quite a few days, depending on one’s use of the car this will vary of course. Cons: If you DON’T follow the steps, you may not get the desired results. It takes half an hour but it’s worth it! Overall pretty happy with this product.

I used this in my car and although it did do what it said and got rid of smells I don’t think this is the sort of thing you want to use regularly. It reminded me of a bug bomb. You turn on your car, with the ac circulating internally, then open the “ bomb” and close your car up.

You need to leave your car running with the bomb going for the next 15 minutes then air your car out. It did smell great however, I don’t believe it’s very environmentally friendly because your releasing this chemical into the air and wasting gas.

I’d rather stick to a normal air freshener you hang up.

The Armor All FRESHfx Rapid Odor eliminator works well at removing set in odors. I used this in my 1994 civic and it smells like new now. Very easy to use, just activate the can and leave it. come back later and air the vehicle out.

I was afraid this would leave a residue like substance all over my interior, but surprisingly, there was no leftover residue. I would recommend this product.

This Gain Car Air Freshener product has to be the best one in the market. It clearly Out Gains any other air freshener in the market. Not only does it last longer than normal, its scent is out of this world.

So my Gain is definitely not my loss.

had a smell I couldn’t get rid of no matter what I tried. , vacuumed it, washed it, new cabin air filter, odor absorber blocks, glade air freshener, etc etc. nothing worked and some made it worse (do NOT use the fragrance bomb in your car while there’s a bad smell lingering, car smelled like musty old man for a month).

finally, I got these thinking it was just going to be another failed attempt. I was never so happy to be wrong. turns out the smell was indeed coming from my vents and this little bad boys neutralised it almost instantly.

it’s been two weeks and still fresh fresh fresh. definitely going to stick with these from now on.

I love that these are so tiny and don’t have a len overpowering smell. This particular scent is Gain and it is the fragrance of clean laundry. I love these but hate that after 2 weeks I get so used to the scent that I can’t smell it anymore.

However, that doesn’t mean anyone that comes into my car can’t! These last about a month and a half for me. Luckily, they come in a two pack!.

Ozium Air Sanitizer 0. 8 oz Spray, Vanilla Scent 3-PACK the smelling is more pleasant then the original. When cooking or after cooking it does knock down most of the smell from entering other rooms. Price jump from July 8th 2022 last ordered was $14.

71 Now July 20th 2022 went back to order more and they want to charge $17. 62 At fourteen dollars it was questionable for less than an ounce of spray. Now I would rather not have the spray. I will shop hospital grade on my next purchase.

I love this spray! I purchased the first can, recommended by a sister, after I had smoke damage in my house from an overnight pan on the stove. It took days to air out the house! Then this came along and saved the day.

I had to buy a second can, after giving the remainder of the first one to my neighbor who left a jug of milk in her car, in the Arizona sun and heat, for the weekend. ! This stuff does the trick, of removing the odors from the air, without any sickeningly sweet lingering odor.

Ozium works like a charm when it comes to ridding bad smelling odors. We had loaned our car to a family member and when the car was returned to us it smelled like an ash tray. I made a mess in my car after a long night of bing drinking microbrews. My car really stank the next day. So I decided to buy this product, it worked good and I was able to use it on another older vehicle that had old vehicle smell.

This stuff nukes odors like no other freshener, including Lysol. I’ve read some reviews saying people don’t like the smell, but I actually kind of like it. It’s not fake smelling or some of the other common scented ones.

Ozium spray is unbelievable and works great. Better than every other spray Ive used. The great thing about it is you only have to spray once or twice depending on how big the room is. I will definitely order more soon.

Product performed exactly as intended and I used the instructions to re-fresh my truck. My only complaint with the product is that even though it did work the scent did not last long. Would have been better off just buying a standard air freshener for the truck.

These are attractive little pods that are easily activated by clicking the vent clip into position. They also have a dial on the top of the pod to control the scent strength. After purchasing, I immediately placed one of the pods on my center air vent on my car and then stopped for gas before heading home.

When I got back into my car at the gas station it smelled AMAZING! Although the fragrance had already permeated the interior of my car, it was a clean and light scent. Lush whispers hints of the familiar that make you want to take deep breaths and enjoy the sensation, a welcome departure from the typical obnoxious.
