20 Best Car Oil Treatment (2022 Updated)

My engines always ran a little rough, i have a 1989 chevy s10, and someone suggested i use some of this. I had already done the seafoam stuff, like the fuel additive, and the top engine cleaner. Then i used the motor honey.

Overall they all did a good job at cleaning and lubricating stuff to make the motor run better. Don’t underestimate oil and fuel additives, they can quiet down lifter tick, get rid of aggressive shaking, and do much more.

Motor honey especially helped things run a bit smoother.

I have 131,000 miles on my 1999 Mustang 35th Anniversary v6 convertible and there has been a ticking noise coming from the bottom end that I can’t seem to identify. No loss of power, no excessive oil consumption, or anything else that I or anyone else can figure out.

I heard that Marvels Mystery Oil worked well so I tried it, with no luck. I use 5w 20 full synthetic in this engine and change it religiously at 3,000 miles. I was skeptical that this product would work, but figured I would give it a shot anyway.

As soon as I poured it in the ticking stopped cold. I couldn’t believe it. The ticking did not return until I changed the oil. I added another bottle to the new oil and the ticking stopped again. I don’t what this stuff is made of but it really does work.

Now I buy a bottle with every oil change, and add it too my jeep engine as well. The jeep doesn’t tick, but I figured it couldn’t hurt. I haven’t noticed any difference in performance or fuel consumption, however.

I must admit that I am somewhat biased because this product is distributed by a Michigan-based company. But regardless that this great product is distributed in my home state, there is nothing else remotely close to what this product can deliver and at the tremendously low price.

I drive a 2008 Saab 97-x and it has about 115,000 miles. A friend of mine suggested using some of the Casite products to improve mileage and to extend engine oil life. I used this product and I could not believe how much better my engine ran.

It was immediately noticeable, the noise and vibration essentially disappeared. I truly believe that I will see another 100,000 miles on my car easily with this product. This product is great; I just wish that Autozone carried more of Casite’s other products.

My father had a mid-size (30 employees) hydraulic sales and service shop that he started in 1970. We routinely rebuilt piston and vane hydraulic pumps that would seize up if not properly lubricated when assembled.

A salesman came in one day with a product that would improve performance of engines and anything else that used oil. This was before it was marketed to the general public in it’s early years. The salesman asked us to run an engine that had a tachometer connected with just standard oil in it and note the RPM’s.

He then poured 1 ounce of Slick50 in the crankcase and the RPM’s increased immediately by about 300. We were sold and began mixing it with our assembly oil and never had a problem with start-ups. We used it in all of the company vehicles and I have used it now for 40 years in my vehicles.

I’ve read all of the reviews that say its a waste to add any oil additive or that they will stop up ports and filters and can only tell you I have never had any problems. I firmly believe it helps engines run better and improves performance.

I have gone as much as 7500 miles on an oil change with just standard oil (not synthetic or high mileage) with Slick 50 added and never had thick / gummy oil when I did change it nor did my engine use oil.

Everyone has to form their own opinion but I will continue using it until it lets me down.

I had what sounded like a lifter knocking pretty hard in 2014 Town & Country minivan with 120K+ miles on it and this seems to be calming it down. Maybe not as quiet as I had hoped; but quiet enough that I will try another bottle of this at the next oil change.

This product doesn’t increase your engine oil’s zinc levels. It REDUCES them, because it contains less zinc than today’s typical engine oils. It does, however, thicken your oil, which is effective at quieting lifter noise and makes people think it works.

DO NOT USE if you are trying to add zinc to oil for your flat-tappet engine. Use Rislone ZDDP (which contains lots of zinc), diesel oil, or engine break-in additive.

Great price, and good results Always skeptical about products like this. my 04′ LeSabre knocks and thumps, and burns a lot of oil. I’ve tried many products to try to help and none have worked. Until I found this.

It didn’t stop everything entirely (she does have almost 200,000 miles on her) but it did help noticeably enough to make me give a good review! 👏🏻 I read it works better with every use so I’ll be trying again with my next oil change! 🤞🏻.

I added this product to my manual shift 2. 5i Impreza along with a quart of oil on a Saturday. The following Friday, my oil light flickered once or twice while climbing a hill and the engine started losing power.

Once I crested the hill, the motor died with a clunking sound and I coasted the corner store at he bottom. Towed car to the service station where it was pronounced dead on arrival. Once I returned home I noticed a lake of oil on my driveway where I parked the car overnight.

Coincidence? I don’t know. I know the car had issues but I hesitate to recommend the product.

Been buying this product over 20 years. I was skeptical at first, but the claims proved true when the car I was in lost the oil cap and oil was everywhere. We were on a long and steep grade. Because we had used the prolong engine treatment we continued on about 25 miles when we stopped the oil on the dipstick barely left its mark.

If you want to extend the life of your vehicle, to make it easier for your engine or motor to run smoother, then this is the product for you. I have used Prolong engine oil for decades and it has never done my wrong.

Never harmed my engine. You merely add about 10 oz to an engine already filled with motor oil, and immediately you can hear the engine run smoother due to the excellent Prolong lubrication. It is especially good during hard winter.

The car or truck sits out in freezing cold thru the night, Prolong helps the engine to move easier, so that means the engine will start easier, and then get warmed up quicker. I drive a transit bus for my job, and our buses sit outside, and during the cold winter, I have seen the buses start up so much quicker because the motor has Prolong in it.

The buses without Prolong take lot longer cranking and cranking before getting started. People have been buying STP to lubricate their vehicle engines, but Prolong is infinitely better. The reason I buy a gallon of it is because I use it in all my vehicles, and in friends’ vehicles, too.

It is the one thing that has let me keep my cars in good running order.

There really is nothing like Prolong metal treatment, as it literally is saturated into metal and does not get worn away as other additive products do. I’ve used it since 1986. I would not own an engine that I could not put Prolong into.

It really does stop friction and reduce heat in any motor or engine. I use it in every motorized piece of equipment I have and always will.

my car had about 135000 on it and was showing it’s age read about this in. magazine. decided to give it a try. after running this about 100 to 200 miles Engine and trans mission ran much better. engine had much more power, quite and smoothness with 3 o’s if you know what I mean.

used in all of drivetrain with very positive results. no more sippage shifting gear changes. runs better than the day I bought it when it was a pup. I have picked up 2 more miles to the gallon over a 2500 mile stretch in mixed driving.

1. 6 Ford Focus zetec s with 70k. Lifters where a little noisy after full major service with belts & W/pump. After just 3 days theres a massive noticeable difference and so much smoother And it sounds so much healthier.

I used xado product in my power steering too and its made a huge difference to that too. Feels like had a new steering rack. Overall I am very happy with these products and will definitely use again and recommend to friends & family.

Doing the same to the wifes car now too.

A little expensive but well worth it because of the science behind it. My mini cooper s 2008 r56 was running rough but after an oil change and this metal conditioner was added. I did notice a marked improvement after a week or so.

Less noise and running a lot better. I would recommend this product even as a preventive measure. Thanks.

Use this product in our 08′ focus 2. 0L along with Mobil-1 high mileage oil. Currently at over 225,000mi. & running very well. I expect the entire rest of the car to crumble around the drivetrain well before any mechanical problems occur.

Ive been using slick 50 on all my cars for the past 15 years and theyve never had any major engine problems. My mechanic often comments my current 2000vx Commodore Wagon runs better than any others of the same vintage hes seen.

Cheap insurance!.

My 1986 Toyota PU, 253,000 mi. when I sold it. NO tune up, NO oil use between 5,000 mi changes. I use Slick 50 in ALL my vehicles, and have for many years, you won’t be disappointed. I put in the whole container amount for the first application, and about 8 oz.

each oil change there after. Can’t praise it enough.

Archoil absolutely works for sticking injectors in 6. 0 powerstroke engines. My excursion struggled to idle when cold and would not get over 30 mph until the oil warmed up. Also the truck was only getting 11.

5 mpg. I changed the oil and added a quart of Archoil with the oil change. I immediately noticed a difference. Now the truck starts easier and it is drivable right away. Fuel economy is back up to 18-19 mpg.

I have tried many oil additives in the past and none of them have worked so I was very skeptical about Archoil. However after trying it, I am a customer for life. This stuff is amazing!.

Added 16 oz with oil change. Started 7. 3 PS and could actually hear the injectors and motor smooth out. I had light blue smoke at 2500 rpm to 3000 rpm and it is almost gone. The performance of the engine now is 100% better.

I have to admit I don’t like the price at $80. 00 a quart and feel that’s gouging even for a good product like you have. I am going to start testing different types to see what kind of results I get.

If my math is correct your product would be $320. 00 a gallon and would be $16,000. 00 for a 50 gallon drum. Come on guys you have to admit your gouging very hard even though your product works. I like what archoil does but will not buy again unless you get the price down and will not buy again if I find a cheaper substitute.

I have a f-250, 04 model 6. 0 and was having a lot of problems with start and smoking. I was using regular rotella 15-40 and switch to synthetic rotella T-6 and added Archoil, and my truck ran excellent.

It’s a quick fix and I think everyone should try it. A little on the high side but worth every penny. Tried a lot of other products but this one really made a difference. No more rattle and bad cold starts.

It lubes the back side of the injectors were they start to stick causing smoke. There’s nothing wrong with using fuel additive but that only lube the fuel side of the injectors.

Thought I would give this a go. Read over 300 reviews, 98 % positive. Ex mechanic, I’m a bit of a sceptic regarding additives. Have used another well known brand with good results. In all honesty, Lucas wins hands down.

My vehicle is a 2004 Toyota Prado 3. 0 diesel with 258,000 km. Just finished a round trip from Sydney to Melbourne return totally 2,500 km. Car started better, ran smoother as I am also using Lucas Oil Stabiliser & was an even better pleasure to drive than it normally is.

I found out about Best Line from hearing Perry talk with the Snail Trail 4×4 podcast. I was very skeptical at first, about the product. There are hundreds of additives that are on the market. It was until Snail Trail 4×4 did the lubricity test with the torque wrench that I decided to make the purchase.

I bought the 1 gallon oil additive when it was on sale, as well as the water wetter, and the transmission treatment. I have 4 different vehicles that I put Best Line in. 3 are brand new cars, and I really didn’t notice a huge difference.

At least not yet. I am waiting for the next oil change to send my oil off for tests. The amazing difference that I noticed though was with m 96 ram 1500. Normally after an oil change, the new oil would get oxidation in the oil fairly quickly and turn brown.

After putting Best line in the truck, my oil, now a few thousand miles later still looks close to the same as it did when I put it in there. The truck runs idle smoother, and simply just runs smoother.

I was blown away with how well it works in the truck. I added the transmission additive in the truck, and now it shifts smoother, and all around just makes the truck fun to drive again. I would and have recommended this product to anyone.

One more thing that really is a selling point for me is that Perry is a wonderful person and really cares about his product. His customer service is top notch, and isn’t afraid of putting his name to the test.

If you are skeptical about this product I assure you that it really helps and works as you can see it has more positive reviews than negative and any negative reviews on it is because their not mechanly inclined or knowledgeable or have issues with their cars already.

I’ve used this for my 2011 Nissan Maxima/ 2017 Toyota Corolla LE I noticed after I changed the oil ( I use AMS OIL in both ) and I add bestline oil to the new oil In both motors they idle smoothly and quietly than before.

I also noticed a change in MPG as well. I highly recommend this product just make sure you can use it in your compatible vehicle read the back! But in conclusion product de puts out as intended !.

I have tried this in 3 vehicles: my wife’s Ford Expedition SUV, my daughter’s GMC Terrain SUV, and a Ford Transit Van. I was amazed at the improvement in fuel mileage. The wife’s Expedition went from 20 MPG to 24 MPG.

Also, the Ford Dealership that services the vehicle told us that the bearings on the Eco-Boost turbochargers were going bad; that was 6 months ago. At the last routine service (to change the spark plugs), the tech said the turbochargers were working great.

My daughter’s Terrain went from 22 MPG to 26 MPG. The van went from 18 MPG to 26 MPG. Also, when stopped at a traffic signal and the AC was going, it would sometimes die. That no longer happens, and the engine runs noticeably smoother.

Some reviewers (on Amazon) indicate that the vehicles do not run as hot or that the vehicle takes longer to warm up. I have not noticed this. But the increased fuel mileage more than offsets the cost of this product.

I will continue to use this in all of my vehicles.

Easy to pour in with synthetic or conventional engine oil, works great for breaking in rebuilt engines with flat tappet cam shafts. I use it every oil change because oil does not have the zinc additive for these older engines anymore and protection for cam and lifter seating and performance has gone down without it.

Do not use on vehicles with Catalytic converters unless just breaking in the engine.

It’s supposed to be good stuff. Ran it about 500 miles with non-detergent oil. Too bad Autozone doesn’t have break in oil. Or non-detergent. So I had to make several stops. But it seems to work. Motor runs good.

I’m on regular oil now.

I bought this to supplement my engine oil for my flat-tappet cam install. I’ve bought this stuff three times since. My cam is still living. Appears to be doing what it supposed to.

Product is worse thing ever installed in vehicle. Followed instructions accordingly, Bought because one 02 sensor reading. My catalytic converters after using product broke to pieces causing extreme back pressure to motor.

Removed internal combs in cats that were designated. Started vehicle could hear engine was ticking. Drove vehicle too see if would clear, end up blowing a piston rod, mind anyone my vehicle was properly maintained prior drove fine no problems besides sensor.

Rislone blew my motor do not use this product.

You know you have a very loud problem with engine noise when people turn their heads and stare at your suv as you drive by. That’s how loud my tapping/knocking noise was! I have been the sole owner of a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with 91,000 miles, I’ve taken great care of it, and the tapping and ticking that started one day out of the blue was a bit of a surprise.

As I mentioned the tapping/knocking sound was extremely loud. Both the tapping and ticking noises happened when the engine was cold and both noises continued during the entire time of driving. After searching the internet I decided to go ahead and give this product a try.

To be honest I only used half of the bottle of Rislone. I drove around for about 15 miles and I could no longer hear the tapping sound. After driving another 10 miles or so I still have the ticking noise, but it is less loud than it was before.

I’m hoping with with more driving time the ticking sound will continue to improve. I’m glad I used this product and will continue to use it in the future. Highly recommend.

A lot of things are widely advertised and always a gimmick or one of chances of success. This is my second high mileage used car. And this quick anytime additive would clear Pesty check engine lights especially for dirty sensors.

Greats rid of that engine ticking noise that is common for older engines and smoother acceleration Def recommend if you facing any of those issues.

This car has nearly 200,000 miles on the odometer. Anyone who has owned or researched this particular Ford model is aware that these with the 2. 5 L have a very strong and reliable motor. That said at nearly 200,000 engine performance has declined.

I understand that my assessment of TriboTEX engine treatment is subjective and a before and after dyno test would be the only “proof “. That said I have spent more than a few hours driving this car prior to the TriboTEX and I believe there is a noticeable improvement in responsiveness and smoother operation of the engine.

In the past this vehicle was getting 17-20 mph (it’s FWD not AWD) currently it’s averaging 19-23+ mpg. Not sure why the upper mpg’s aren’t uniform with the lower mpg gain. I also did the TriboTEX transmission treatment at the same time as the engine treatment.

Possibly the transmission is staying in higher gears longer. These numbers are subject to my driving habits which haven’t changed. The treatment frequency recommended by TriboTEX is 40,000 miles. If this mpg improvement continues for that interval that alone will have paid the cost of the product and more.

I’ve been using Prolong for my engines and transmissions, gas and diesel, for almost 25 years! It’s the only additive I’d ever use. It has no particles just a pure, most slippery metal penetrating substance.

My old Volvo has over 300,000 miles and it still runs like a Swiss watch and neither engine or transmission has ever been touched. It’s great for the seals also with never any start up smoke! All my vehicles have always experienced great if not greater gas mileage due to the substantial reduction of metal to metal friction.

That what Prolong is all about!!.

This product, Prolong, stopped the clicking in the lifters at start up. I could always hear the lifters clattering when the engine was started cold. The clicking would last for about 15 seconds then fade away as the oil pressure increases in the valve train.

After 2 days I found that the clattering was much quieter and actually stopped in about 5 seconds after start up. Great Stuff! Use it you won’t be sorry!.

I find it interesting to see how others review products. A 1 star?? With this particular product, what exactly is that based on??? Concentrated marketing scheme?? Have you looked at ANYTHING lately? Everything is “concentrated”.

Anyway, if you have an older flat tappet cam you really need to be using a zinc supplement with today’s oils. Low lift stock cams that are well broken in can usually get away without it for a while but if you swap in a new cam make sure to add a bottle at every oil change.

ZDDP destroys catalytic converters? It’s over hyped nonsense. If your engine is letting enough oil burn past the rings to make it to the cat and destroy it, you’ve got much bigger issues. Get a bottle.

Add it at oil change and prolong the life of your cam and engine. Or don’t and be doing it all over again very soon.

Absolutely necessary in flat tappet camshafts on older cars. Type SL oil no. longer available as zinc destroys catalytic converters. ZDDP contains the needed zinc and phosphorus to properly lubricate and cool classic cars.

Use this additive at every oil change. Works perfectly. Worn camshafts show up quickly, probably about 1000 miles or so. My nephew 1997 jeep 4. 0L now has a flattened camshaft after 2-1/2 months driving to work daily and restaurant once a week or so.

Don’t let this happen to your vehicle, use ZDDP additive!.

If you’re a person who likes and believes in oil and fuel additives, this is as good as any that are out there. Walmart has a massive customer base and huge buying power, so it’s not like the companies that produce these products are going to stop the production lines and change the ingredients to lesser quality when they are ready to bottle the supertech batch.

I’ve used SuperTech products in my BMW and in my Harley off and on for quite a while with no problems. It’s pretty easy for scientists and technicians to discern the ingredients in any oil based product.

There are no ‘secret’ oils out there. If a company wants to clone (Insert name brand oil here), they certainly can. I have sent samples of my used (and sometimes new) motor oil and other fluids to a university for analysis for over 20 years, and they never have a problem telling me the composition and performance breakdown of the used vs.

the fresh product, and estimated useful life left. SuperTech products have compared favorably to any others out there, including “premium” brands like Royal Purple and Amsoil, and are certainly just as good as the name brands on the shelves of automotive parts stores and at quick (censored word) places.

Changing your fluids, on schedule, with any SAE oils is better than going scattershoot with high-dollar brands. Even racing teams with $100,000 engines use the oils and additives of whichever company sponsors them.

There are many opinions on whether additives are needed, but no credile source will claim that they do any harm. I have used them for over 30 years, I like them, and will continue to do so.

I use this in an 2006 Chrysler Town and Country 3. 8l engine , 230K miles. I add the ST Stabilizer to the 10-W-30 ST High Mileage oil. I chose this because the Stabilizer does not have Zinc , ZDDP. added which can clog catalytic converters.

It’s cheaper to change the oil and additive in the old van every 3k miles using Super Tech products, instead of buying a new vehicle. I probably would not use the ST Oil Stabilizer in a new engine. But just change the oil at 3-5K miles.

! Return the used oil and filter to Walmart garage for recycling! Super Tech products allow you to do good maintenance and be environmental.

So let me say right off the bat that I am not actually sure if this stuff works the way it says or not. BUT, everything I have used from Lucas(like transmission stop slip or power steering fluid) has helped my vehicles noticeably.

So based on that, I would expect everything from them to do what they say they do. I have only used this stuff a couple of times, since I usually use the pure synthetic stabilizer. I put it in during the oil change.

Once I drain the oil out, I put a bottle if this in and then top the rest off with full synthetic oil. I recently bought a 115k mile 2006 trailblazer and changed the oil shortly after buying it(always do this unless you know for sure it was changed recently).

So honestly, since its something that you probably wouldn’t notice a different whether you put it in your oil or not, its hard to say whether it works or not. But like I said, the transmission stuff definitely helped all 3 vehicles I put it in, and the power steering fluid quieted my pump down on a vehicle that the pump stayed loud with new fluid from other brands.

So based on those working like they should, id imagine this stuff is also helping. No way to actually tell unless you could cut open your engine while it’s running tho.

I drive a 2006 Subraru Forrester 2. 5 – It’s currently at 160,000 miles. I purchased this at Walmart for $16 and some change. Brought it with me to my mechanic (trusted old family friend) for my next oil change.

He was happy to include it at no extra charge** more about this below. I instantly noticed a difference after the first drive. No clicking or crackling noises after start up. I got out after driving a few miles down the road to listen for myself.

The engine was purring beautifully. I couldnt believe how nice and lubed up everything sounded. If you take care of your cars, they will take car of you. Definitely a great booster to add to your high mileage vehicle during an oil change! I will be trying Lucas Oil’s Fuel Stabalizer next !! ** No mechanic should really give you a hard time about bringing your own.

By adding it in, they use less oil than standard so its saving them money afterall.

on all my cars with higher miles if they are burning a little oil this will stop or slow it down. it will add more miles to your engine. most engines after 125k start to burn a little oil this will help in slowing or stopping that.

in my experience every car I have put this in I have seen oil burning reduce or be eliminated all together. best to replace a quart of regular oil with this during an oil change. but if you are running a quart low add this to reduce engine wear and stop/slow oil burning.

I have a very bad habit of getting bored of a vehicle and selling and replacing so I have used it on many cars.

I’ve built a lot of engines. This Comp Cams additive is a must for breaking in a flat tappet cam. Had no problems with the cam break-in. I mixed it with Valvoline VR-1 high zinc content oil in a pan first so it was ready to go and primed the oil pump.

Za Profezzer sez, “You muz Think Zinc!!” If you’ve got a flat tappet cam and no catalytic converter, you really should consider making this a regular part of every oil change. Comp break-in additive is an excellent protector of your valve train that’s otherwise starved of essential elements we used to take for granted, but which are no longer a part of most motor oils today.

I highly recommend this product. I don’t mind buying another cam because I want to upgrade, but I don’t want to have to buy another cam and lifters because they failed prematurely.

Decided to do a cam swap in the parking lot of my apartment complex during the ‘Rona quarantine. I swapped the cam on day one and poured in the additive only to have it pour rain on me for the next four days.

I was worried the cam would go flat with it sitting but to my surprise this oil was so thick it had stayed on the topside keeping the cam and lifters nice and lubed! FOR THREE DAYS! I will definitely use this again.

They run quieter and smoother too. Put some in my noisy air compressor and wow what difference!.

So I tried the product. It took a few weeks, maybe even a month or 2 before the knock was GONE; but there was a noticeable change in just a few days. Now I put a bottle in with every oil change. For a Reason: IT WORKS!.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleMy trans felt like it had a hard time going into some gears, so Google and some research guided me to this snake oil. The trans in question has about 180,000 and I thought this product would help ease the shift.

I put a bottle through the trans dip stick, following the directions and making sure not to overfill. Cycling the gears, then a light test drive and nothing happened, for about a km. Instead of an easy shift what I ended up with was a whole pile of neutrals.

Truck no move now. Ok, I’ll give these guys the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the Trans fluid was just too far gone and needed to be changed. So I picked up a trans pan gasket/filter and a pile of new transf fluid and go to work changing the oil.

Now the oil did need changing, was well used and I was assuming this doesn’t work so well with worn oil. Some reviews suggest that it doesn’t. Fast forward a week later (maybe 10km on now oil), fresh ATF oil and an opportunity.

The bottle says it can help blah, blah blah. I used another bottle, also following directions and monitoring the fill level. New oil and should be no issues. Cycled the gears a bunch of times, and took for a light test drive.

Lone behold, 5 neutrals after about few hundred yards. Can’t tell you what the issue is, but my two pennies are that you should avoid this stuff and look elsewhere for a trans additive. I think SeaFoam has one that would work better.
