20 Best Car Oxidation Remover (2022 Updated)

So glad I gave these a try! Keep me sucked in, they never need pulling up or adjusting, even when jumping rope or doing burpees, nice & opaque (some of my workout leggings have a real sheen to them).

The waist doesn’t pinch either. They’re perfect. I’ve bought 3 pairs, then they sold out. I’m tempted to get a fourth pair in case these disappear. They’re a slightly thicker material – not as thin as some capris I have from a popular yoga gear brand, so I don’t wear them on hot days, but they’re definitely fine for just everyday workouts.

Note that I have several capris from said yoga brand, and I prefer these. They fit pretty true to size, I wear size 8 in “that” yoga brand & the mediums are perfect.

Probably use a heavy polisher as I did, to remove oxidation from 36 year old boat. Removes years of oxidation with relative ease, although holding the heavy polisher will build arm muscle. Can even apply by hand and does a similar job but big jobs benefit from a powered polisher like the Dewalt.

Looks polished after application but best to wax with one of the Meguiars other products. Used one and a half small 16 oz tubes for a 26 foot lobster boat so goes a long way.

My 4 year old RV had oxidized pretty heavily and since it is a dark Tan, it really showed. I tried several other remedies and none filled the bill. I was referred to this product an it same me from spending a lot of money to have someone else do it.

I used the good old “by hand” method and yes it was a little bit of work. But my 36ft RV now looks new again. This stuff is pretty amazing as you wipe it on, swirl it a bit and wipe it off. Most of the sheen comes back and the oxidization is pretty well gone.

Followed it up with a Cleaner Wax and Holy smokes, it shined like new. I tried using a polisher and I got better results by hand so yes it took 2 days, but I am completely satisfied. It saved me from a lot of frustration.

I use this Meguiar’s 49 Oxidation Removal on every boat I clean up for my business. Use this Oxidation Remover with. 100% Wool Pad 7. 5” on a Dewalt Buffer and the results are flawless. This will return you boat’s fiberglass to an amazing mirror like shine.

This stuff is a must have to restore the shine back to your boat. After using this product make sure to follow it up with a coat of Meguiar’s 56 Marine/RV wax. The photos and video’s don’t lie!.

Okay, don’t but the small bottle if doing the entire boat or RV. this stuff works like magic! make sure get a buffer, practice, and watch lots of youtube videos. It took me an entire weekend to do a 30′ foot.

I wish I had some before pictures, my boat shines like new! It’s 20 years old and had ridiculous amounts of oxidation. I was embarrassed to bring people on the boat. Now, it looks like new, really! after oxidizing, you can use the polish and wax, which helps, but the oxidation remover did move of the trick.

I had an area around one of my running lights that has been shiny ever since new. This 12-16″ area was showing oxidation around the edge. I used Meguiars M4901 and it took most of the oxidation off. There is still an edge of oxidation around this area the shows a defined line that I am trying to remove.

Maybe 2-3 coats will be required.

Am restoring the bottom on my 88′ aluminum boat. Used a drill bit polishing wheel & the results are astonishing. This product brought the shine & luster back to showroom standards. Beware if using near painted or wrapped surface, as the polishing wheel can remove paint/vinyl.

Luckily I will be wrapping the boat once the polish is complete, so no harm no foul.

Did a small area as a test. Product works as advertised. Tremendous difference in aluminum appearance. I will say that it may take 2 passes of product to clean as expected, particularly if boat has never been cleaned.

I bought this at local store and used it on my aluminum rims and it made them look new. So I started using it on my chrome bumpers, although you it isn’t intended to be used on chrome it made them look new.

I then used used it on a nickel plated revolver I have. The revolver was severly oxidised, after I used this polish it is like a mirror finish.

The label states will remove light rust, not so. Wish I could get the old Simonize polish we used years ago. Still looking for something to do the job.

Here are my results. Took a little elbow grease but I’m really not into a spotless car. I used a rag and 0000 steel wool. Love it took off all the brake dust that looked like barnacles forming.

Best chrome cleaner I’ve found. It not only shines, but it’s close to showroom level. Great for cleaning, too.

I figured I would be wetsanding gelcoat for the next few days, but I was wrong. I tried a few different compounds with little results. Then someone suggested this product. I’m really not sure how they did it, but this stuff is literally liquid Jesus.

12 year old oxidation disappeared with the first coat. The second coat brought a mirror like finish, and the deep colors back. I’m still in disbelief how well this worked, and how effortlessly it was to work with.

You guys saved me around 20 hours of sanding a 25 foot boat. I have already reordered. There will always be a bottle of this on my shelf for life.

For 3 years I’ve been trying to restore the finish of my dark blue stripes on my Bayliner. I have read countless reviews and spent probably $150. 00 in products that make claim to bring the color back.

wasted money. This is the only product that cleaned, removed oxidation, brightened the color to original luster and after 1 month sitting outside while I make other repairs has not faded or lost the gleaming finish.

I also used it on my Dodge Pick-up to buff out some rub spots in the clear coat. awesome brought it right back to it’s original shine.

Purchased a three year old 5th wheel trailer that had been parked with one side always facing the sun. One side was in perfect condition the other side had bad oxidation. Tried several different products to remove the oxidation and nothing really worked until I tried Mckee’s Heavy Cut Oxidation Removal.

Now both sides and rear of the RV look great and like new.

Great product. Smells nice, don’t have to use a mask, nor gloves. Goes on easily and a small amount goes quite a ways. Used it on our fiberglass travel trailer and wow! I did not realize how yellowed the trailer had gotten from old wax.

It took the wax off easily, brightened the trailer to white again and took out all sorts of oil spots, road grime, diesel blow back — things we were having trouble getting off the finish. There had been a decal that had fallen off and we could never remove the outline – but this product magically took the residue off in one application.

I did go back and do the trailer a second time as I cld see areas that I had clearly missed. I applied it with a damp buffing pad (soft), hosed it off without letting it dry, then a microfiber towel to dry it.

You can immediately feel and see the difference. I was hoping it would have brightened the colors of the decals ( gold, blue, and red) – and for whatever reason the blue had faded the worst and could not be brought back, although my husband said the red ‘popped’ right away.

I’ve got wax (ProtectAll) coming via Home Essentials Direct. The trailer looks great now and it’s 10 years old, but the wax should certainly make it shine and will protect it from oxidation, UV rays, road grime.

I used an amazingly small amount for two applications on a 30′ travel trailer.

Bought this to clean up a hazed over headlight assembly. After about 5 minutes of rubbing this product in a circular motion on the headlight, it was clear as new. This was EXTREMELY easier than the other suggested products and methods I saw on internet videos.

VERY AFFECTIVE for removing black streaks and the chalky finish to a like new finish. I didn’t feel my white front fiberglass cap on my travel trailer was bad, I tried Marquire’s Flagship and was not satisfied with the results so I tried the 3M.

I applied it by hand to see how it would work on the issue and was pleased right away, can’t wait to see what happens when I use my polisher. With what I’ve been able to do so far, any new steaks come off easily as if there is a protective coating which is something they advertise with this product.

The other products I had tried seemed to clean/polish over the thin chalky finish leaving a blurred finish and not the bright white fiberglass shine I was looking for, I’m very please with the 3M fiberglass restore and bonus the price at Canadian Tire was “a lot” better than other suppliers.

I was looking for a restorer for my fiberglass exterior front door. The full glass outside storm door provides a layer of protection from the wind, how ever the fiberglass wood like door gets the full sun during most of the day and has lost much of the beautiful woodgrain appearance it once had.

My goal was to bring back the luster & beauty I had tried other suggested fixes but to no avail. This 3 M marine type solution suggested it might do the trick. It seems to have cleaned the old material from the surface & filled the remaining surface to a smooth finish and except for the loss of the coloration from the sun it does look much better.

I’m glad I tried it.

I have a 16 year old Fifth Wheel and as typical of most RVs the gel coat finish has always failed to retain its gloss. It is way worse on one side from afternoon sun exposure. On most RVs the gel coat finish is sub standard so they will start deteriorating after a few years; as did mine, despite using wax and other finishes/polishes that claim they will solve the problem, including the product recommended by the RV manufacturer.

After countless hours of work over the years nothing solved the problem. I finally got a suggestion to use this product. I applied it with an orbital buffer and was shocked to see a nice glossy surface again.

It went on more easily than other products have and again I have a shiny RV. Granted, it’s not labor free, and is still work, but the end result is great. time will tell how long this will last, but so far it’s great.

This is an excellent product. I purchased a used 2009 Attitude 33 ft Toy Hauler trailer in Feb. 2015. The previous owner washed and waxed it a few times a year so the fiberglass was in good condition.

I used a RV wax I purchased at Camping World and waxed the trailer last month. It didn’t clean or polish well. I read the reviews on home essentials direct that were posted for the 3 step process: Meguiar’s M4965 Marine/RV Fiberglass Restoration System.

I was very happy with the results. The first step removed the small amount of oxidation and the previous wax that was present. As described in the reviews, step 2 (polish) and step 3 (wax) brought back the bright white shiny look.

I purchased the “Meguiar’s MT300 Pro Power DA Polisher” from home essentials direct, which makes the job go faster and provides the best results. You will still need to do some small hand waxing around the edges.

I also used the wax (step 3) on all my decals/stickers on the trailer, which will protect them from fading. Apply it by using Meguiar’s W0004 Foam Applicator Pad 4-1/2″. I have included a picture. The cloudy day doesn’t represent the best results.

My five year old 5th wheel is exposed to the sun on its southern side, all year long. The fiber glass skin was showing signs of oxidation and fading. I tried using some RV wax and a power buffer. I spent hours trying to get the original shine back.

But, wax just doesn’t cut through oxidation. I searched the internet for a good product and purchased Meguiar’s M4965 Marine/RV Fiberglass Restoration System, Kit. The 3 step process is working for me.

It does take time to polish a 35 foot trailer. But, the oxidation remover definitely works. You might have to apply it several times, depending on the oxidation level. The polish and wax seem to be high quality too.

Its best to avoid direct sunlight on the surface, when using this product. So, I’m hoping for a few cooler days to finish up this polishing project 🙂 I would purchase Meguiar’s M4965 kit again, as needed.

This is heavy duty compound. You may need to use a fine polish or swirl away to get the desired look. On black finishes I use Turtle Wax Jet Black for the finish. This is after the rubbing compound. Its a great product, but use it lightly.

As it says Heavy Duty. You can use it on auto, bike, boat finishes. This time I am using it on fiberglass gel coated bathtub finishes. When using a electric buffer do it light.

This kit is fantastic. My boat neighbors are in awe of the way it worked on our boat. True miracle. I used a heavy-duty mikata for the first two products but really you could get away with a lighter car buffer for the second product.

Only the first product for oxidation needs the heavy buffer.

Bought a trailer made in 2006 and apparently has sat outside in all kinds of weather since date of manufacture. It might have been covered, at times, but the cover that came with looks new. Box on the trailer is 20′ long.

When I would run my fingers over the skin of the trailer they would quickly turn white. How I used this product since the Oxidation Remover said it was for “mild” oxidation, whatever “mild” means. 1.

Rinsed the trailer and also kept the side of the trailer I was working on wet in front of my work area. 2. In a 1-quart bottle, I mixed 2 tbs of liquid laundry soap, 2 tbs Simple Green, and filled the bottle with water.

3. Using Scotch-brite„ General Purpose Scouring Pad 3m Corporation and this mixture, I would gently scrub the side of the trailer, rinsing frequently. It would typically take 3 washes to remove the majority of the oxidation.

4. Using Scotch-brite„ General Purpose Scouring Pad 3m Corporation as my applicator and the Meguiar OXIDATION Remover, I would gently scrub the side of the trailer and with a fresh cotton cloth remove.

5. Used the HIGH GLOSS polish as directed. 6. Used the Pure Wax as directed. The trailer now looks clean and shines. I’d say new, but the decals took a beating and there are a few rough spots you couldn’t see when all the oxidation was present (read small areas of damage, hair line cracking that will need to be addressed).

Overall, the product did a very good job of restoring the look of the trailer. Now in the future I just need to keep it waxed, and I plan to use the Meguiar’s Pure Wax product going forward, probably an annual application.

Plan to keep it covered when not in use. btw: 1 bottle of each of the three products completed my trailer. I’m pretty sure 1 bottle of the Oxidation Remover would NOT have been enough if I had NOT prewashed the trailer as described in steps 1, 2, and 3.

Right up there with wax. My truck has something stuck to the horizontal surfaces, looks like orange fibers, but it was only coming off with wet baking soda and a fingernail. Bought this to speed up the process and save my nails, but no matter how hard and long I rubbed, the grunge didn’t come off.

Might work for bugs or water spots.

This polish did better than I expected. The paint on the hood, roof and trunk of my 05 Nissan is shot! the owner before me only ran it thru the car wash in the yrs she had it. I have an electric hand buffer I got for this car.

I put a few drops of this polish on the polishing pad as directed and it seemed to add a little shine to the paint that wasn’t there before. i followed this with a spray on coat of ceramic wax. For the price it seemed to do a good job!.

I bought this product to use on my 06 mustang. I applied both the Renex RX rubbing compound and the Renew RX polishing wax per directions. I noticed scratches and a dull finish on my factory rear spoiler.

I called turtlewax to remedy this problem. I mailed out a claim form, pictures of damages, 2 estimates for repair, and the both products for “lab analysis”. After 2 weeks Turtlewax said I was negligent on applying their product on my vehicle.

I was suppose to apply a small area to all areas of the car to test compatibility. Also, because my factory spoiler was made out of plastic polymers, that is why it was ruined. I told them they need to put a warning label on their product explaining the incompatibility with plastics.

Turtlewax told me that’s why I should have tested it out on all areas of the car. Total nonsense!! They reimbursed me for the price I paid for the product and the shipping charge. Now I’m left with over $500 worth of damages from using their product.

Don’t buy this product!!!.

This is some great stuff–it is everything that anyone could want for their vehicle. And it is everything and more for what it is suppose to do. A+++

It did a good job but surprised that you have to keep doing it each month

I purchased this product to remove some ghosting of old deckles on my Rv. Thought give it a try as I found someone sale and after one application I was not disappointed took the ghosting of the old decals off and shine my 20 year old RV to look practically new! Highly recommend.

As always another top product from meguiars. Yes I know it’s more expensive than the others, but it lasts a lot longer, need less and you really do get what you pay for! (in my opinion of course).

This is a super product I used it on the rubber which brought it up really well then used it on my black grill and what a difference it made really rich and black was very pleased with the outcome I don’t like it shiny so this was perfect.

I always use autoglym as a rule,but we get a spell of rain and it washes off!!!,this new maguiars product doesn’t,it makes my motorcycle look like new,water beads off it,it drys quick,and buffs up well,great product.
