20 Best Car Storage Bubble (2022 Updated)

I have one of these roof top carriers and have really enjoyed it. Works great on my Subaru WRX to carry extra camping gear. Recently I was locking the box as normal and the key broke off in the lock.

I had packed the gear to return home so I figured I’d just leave it locked until I got home and could deal with it then. Once home I was unable to get the key out and wound up having to tear the lock mechanism apart to get the box open.

I contacted Thule “support” to see about getting new parts to fix the lock. Took a week but then they replied with “here’s a link to buy a new key”. I wrote back to re-explain” my problem and they replied with “yeah we don’t sell any parts like that.

Thanks. ” So here’s the bottom line- if you break Thules crappy key in the lock you are on your own so be careful. Or buy a box from another company.

On the plus side: The box has good capacity and is easy to install and remove. On the minus side: The box is overly flexible, which makes it difficult to open as the lid twists if you do not push up exactly at the centre or with both hands, which is not always possible.

Also the lock is very poor quality in that the key is difficult to insert almost every time. Despite adding lock lubricant, the key is always hard to put in. When closing, it does not always align with the locking mechanism due to the previously mentioned flexing issue.

For the price I would expect something a bit more developed.

I got this the Pulse M off REI in summer of 2020 when there wasn’t anything to do since everywhere was in lock down on a memorial day weekend sale and love it. I drive a 2018 limited impreza hatchback with the subaru crossbars and it fits the car very well, and looks great.

It nearly goes the width of the top of the car and still looks streamlined – I wouldn’t suggest going with a cargo box any bigger than this for a similar sized vehicle. We have used this a lot for out of state road trips mainly on weekends and holidays with 2-4 people and it stores a lot more stuff than you would think.

Even trips to Costco, it comes in handy for those big bulky paper products. I store it for the winter as we aren’t traveling as much during that time. Great box, never had any issues with it and stores a ton of stuff to leave room inside the car for coolers, food, bags with electronics, etc.

Bought these to use as reusable grocery carriers. I had similar ones from QVC that were sold for just that reason. The ones from QVC weren’t meant for storage. They were soft-sided and had sturdy bottoms.

BUT. they were made from that fiber-looking fabric that shreds and rips easily. Kind of like that chintzy material on some mattress covers and bed skirts. From a distance you could mistake it for a sturdy canvas just as in the pictures online.

I started looking for something to replace them and found these. There are other ones online that look like they are the same thing for about $4 to $5 less. BUT. I have a feeling those are made from that same fiber material that rips and shreds easily.

Read the descriptions carefully! Those less expensive ones say they are made from “non-woven” fabric and this one specifically says it is a certain type of canvas. I looked it up and the description of this fabric is one that is used for many backpacks.

That sounded good to me and it is!! These will last probably for the rest of my life! If anything leaks in them I just spray it with cleaner or plunge it in a soapy bucket of water or in the kitchen sink and hang them to dry.

No, they cannot go in the washer. I would recommend these to anyone for storage or groceries.

This fits perfectly in the cargo space of my 2017 Golf Alltrack SE. It helps in organizing that space so that things are not rolling around in the back (creating unnecessary noise). I love the anchor straps on the organizer which keep it planted in one space if needed.

There are many pockets on the organizer to hold things like small maps, booklets, wipes, my 120 piece first aid kit, etc. T he removable dividers are a great design as well because they help compartmentalize things as needed or can be removed for larger items.

I am VERY happy with this cargo organizer and highly recommend it!.

Purchase this as a gift for a friend. I was worried it was going to be flimsy and cheap but I was completely wrong! The sides are sturdy, hold the shape and I love the fact that I can adjust the inside from two separate areas to one large open area.

Definitely was worth the buy and would highly recommend it to others.

The storage capacity is great. The material is thin and light which is good for weight however the bottom has bowed a bit. Thule advertises a 5 yr warranty which is one reason we decided to purchase it over the other brands.

The side hinges are built to last and make opening/closing easy. You do have to assemble the unit which is not rocket-science but does require longer than expected time. Overall for the price and brand, it was a good purchase.

I do wish the top portion came in black to match the bottom and that the bottom was made of a more rigid material.

This is no better quality than any generic roof top box. You are definitely paying for the name. The connections to the rack are little more than bolts. the locks are cheap and the mechanism to prop up the top, always seems like it is on the verge of breaking.

For the price point this is a great purchase. It was field tested in a N. GA downpour, some under a eve so it was basically under a water fall and stayed dry. And very little water made in in when driving in rain.

A few drops may have been force in thru the clapming holes used and not plugged. I’m former military and I expect my gear to function and Thule has never dissappointed me. Summit prices and shipping is top shelf.

Right out of the box, this product was perfect! The construction seemed strong, and the storage capacity is IMMENSE. The loops for the car are secure and easy to install. The whole bag was also easy to manage.

***The most THOUGHTFUL piece were the bungie-velcro wraps at the end of each of the tightening straps! Upkeep on straps can be annoying if you don’t know your knots, but these thoughtfully added bungie pieces allow you to velcro the excess straps to themselves.

I thought it was very clever! Good work!Sadly, the bag is not “novice”-proof. We packed it up and drove from Florida to Maine (average speed about 70miles per hour), and everything seemed perfect. There was no shifting or flapping sounds, and only the minor noticeable drag from the car’s shape being different.

HOWEVER, one of the straps had not been 100% tight enough in the front (though we had pulled it as tight as possible, we thought, we must have only tightened it 99%), so there was vibration created by the wind that was JUST enough to rub the tightening strap and part of the bag together.

During one of the stops, thank goodness I checked all the straps, because the friction had nearly cut through the tightening strap and DID cut a small whole in the bag itself! OH NO! So my bag is no longer 100% weather proof, unless there’s a way to fix the bag, and the one tightening strap must ALWAYS be tightened past the weak point, or it will break/won’t work.

Sad that this product has damage after only one trip. I can’t call it 100% manufacturer’s error, but I also feel like the instructions might have needed to warn about the potential for friction from vibrations.

Make sure all your straps lay 100% flat against the bag, so there’s no chance of vibrations. Make sure there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance that the wind can vibrate the straps even the smallest amount, or you’ll end up with damage like we did.

First off – the bag was attached to an ’18 Toyota Highlander, w/out a roof rack. The bag was rear facing (zippered opening to the back), and only 4 (although 6 were supplied) door hooks were needed. I also used two tie-down straps for two reasons: Peace of mind in case the bag ripped and also to help take the stress off of the weight/pressure/wind on the bags straps/stitching (everyone that had their bags ripped, probably didn’t use extra straps).

This bag also has channels along the top for that purpose. We drove from PA to NC in Aug 2021. About 7-8 hours of that trip was an absolute monsoon – I’ve never driven in harder rain. It was so much so that, the radio/cell phones were alerting to hurricane warnings.

Cars were pulled off the road. During that portion of the trip, the contents inside the bag remained bone dry. The bag didn’t move an inch (we have a sunroof so it was easy to see if there was an issue).

We also had no noise from the straps. On the way back, NC to PA (15 hour trip due to off/on traffic) – all clear roads and were driving 80-85 most of the way. Again, no problems with the bag moving, or making noise from the straps (not sure if the tie-downs helped with that).

Only thing I was bummed about, which is probably my mistake is that I thought this bag came with a padding to go underneath the bag to keep the car from getting scratched. My car was not scratched, but something to think about.

(Also, this bag holds a lot. We had 2 full size suite cases, 2 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, 3 boogie boards, 5 beach towels, a large bag of beach toys, beach blanket, a full beach bag, and then a shopping bag of gifts).

Excellent bag and quality!.

We bought this for my daughter’s move to college. Everything came in a organized bag, and the instruction was easy to follow. After reading the reviews, I was a little apprehensive about attaching the tie-down hooks to my car windows, but I did not encounter any issues with my Honda CR-V.

During the drive, which was mostly on highways, the carrier did not shift in position on the car rooftop. Some of the reviews mentioned issues with water proofing of the carrier. When we got to the college town, there was a pretty bad thunderstorm, and lots of rain came down.

Wne I checked the carrier after the storm, the external surface of the carrier was pretty damp, and there was pooling of water in creases of the carrier (we did not pack the carrier full to the gill, so there were lots of places for creases where water could pool).

Inside the carrier was generally dry, except one area near the front of the carrier — I suspect that this may be due to water pooling near the zipper. Even then, the amount of water inside the carrier was minimal.

I double bagged everything we put inside, so there was no damage. Based on this, I would say that the water proofing of this carrier is reasonably good. It seems that at some point, a carrier with smaller capacity was available (we bought the 19 cubic feet version) — that probably would have been a better fit for our purpose, but I am overall happy with the one we bought.

I purchased this wrap in prep for a move across the country. It’s everything it advertised and more. There was enough on this size roll to double wrap a 32” tv and a 42” tv. I also double wrapped a full length mirror.

It was fairly easy to find the perforations to tear the sheets where I wanted. Super happy with my purchase.

So far so good! Used this to insulate a few drafty windows that don’t have storm windows, am a renter and have screens on the outside. Would have been 5 star if there’d been a 24″ width option. Had to use clear tape to cut/fit to the width.

But they are holding up and have made a huge difference in noise as well as interior temperature.

I bought this for my daughter as a present for her 3rd BDAY. I taped (at both ends) a long strip of it down on the kitchen floor. We took off our shoes and had oodles of fun feeling the bubbles pop under our feet.

As far as packing mediums go, I’m sure it is great. As far as keeping a toddler busy and happy, it is worth every penny.

Over the years, I have used this SUPER large cargo box in more than 15 trips for camping, family trips, off-roading trips, etc. This cargo box is so large that can store at minimum 4 hand carry’s for a family trip.

In a few camping trips, I have carried one large 10 person tent, one 6 person tent, 4 camping chairs, a 10×10 canopy, and some sleeping pads. I have driven with this on through a crazy rainstorm and my cargo (including laptop) was safe with a few drops of water around the holes for securing the box to the roof racks.

One of the downsides to having this box is that this box makes it impossible to fit inside any parking garage (think Vegas) when you have it on an Odyssey (Minivan) or 4Runner (SUV). It would probably be perfect for a sedan or coup.

Other downsides include figuring out how to bring it home after purchase (make sure you have roof racks to secure the box on top of your car), figuring how to store it (I keep it on the top shelf of metal shelves), placing items in, and taking items out of the cargo box (I am 6’2″ and still consider a step stool).

The cargo box is fairly light for one person to lift, but it’s size needs 2 people to place on the vehicle. I have managed to do it by myself when needed, but the dance is pretty tricky. In separate occasions, my wife and I have also driven it empty into a low ceiling parking garage.

In my wife’s case, the top popped in and it had to be popped out by hand (There are scratches on top, but no holes). My case was with another similar cargo box and I stopped when I hit the garage ceiling at low speeds.

The cargo box had holes in it that I sealed with 2 part epoxy. If you can store it and if you have a large family or need to store a lot of cargo, I would definitely recommend it 100%.

I took this cross country from Ontario to Alberta and was very impressed. Having read reviews about this and other cargo boxes, I was concerned about water or snow intrusion. I’m happy to say that while we didn’t receive alot of rain or snow during our trip, there was absolutely no signs of rain or melted snow whatsoever.

The box is also quite large, especially when you consider the price to get a similar sized Thule or Yakima. My only hesitation for others would be the rear opening. This necessitates a ladder or stool to get your gear in, or in my case hopping over to stand on the rear tires from a rear door.

That said, it’s real hard to beat the space and price of this box!.

I got this to expand the capacity of my 2012 honda crv during a recent move. My crossbars are slightly curved so I used some tiny rubber spacers (the end caps that came in the box) to shim the outside a touch and it worked perfectly.

The 3 piece initial assembly was incredibly easy and everything fit well. Once that’s done you won’t even need tools to attach it to your cross bars. 4 simple but solid attachments done by hand in minutes.

And it’s very sturdy. I put a chest of drawers in it and they were very easy to secure as there are multiple places to tie down. Drove from Pittsburgh to Grand Rapids Michigan through an insane storm front with no issues at all.

Just as easy to remove and stow until you need it again. Great product.

As stated in prior reviews, this roof basket is pretty much ok. It went together relatively easily and it seems fairly sturdy. However, there were several spots where the paint was flaking off. And I had to spend about $25 to buy u bolts that actually fit my roof rack.

Overall, I wish I had spent a little more to get a higher quality product, but it’s not bad enough to return/replace it right away.

Don’t expect heavy duty tubing, or welded joints. This is a bolt-together rack of light tubing and a welded wire bottom. The bolts all come with nylock nuts, which is a good thing. The welded wire bottom will definitely flex a lot when loaded.

The paint chipped off as I assembled it, so I will likely repaint soon. For the money it is fine. If you want excellent quality, buy a more expensive rack.

This air-strut supported, weather-resistant box has a lock and key and is lightweight enough for one person to easily hoist up to the roof rack of your car. The air struts hold the lid nicely up and out of the way while you load and then easily close when you are ready.

The lid flange is made to close over the base such that water runs off the top and not into, the case. The whole unit feels solid on my rooftop rack. The one thing to be aware of is that installation requires drilling a 1/4″ size hole for each of the metal U-bracket ends to enter the base shell where you can secure the heavy gauge metal bars with provided thumbnuts- 8 holes in all.

This was an easy process to custom fit the unit to my rack, but I am handy with a power drill. This step didn’t appear in the otherwise clear instructions. If you don’t have a drill, this step would seem like a barrier and you might need a friend’s help to first install it.

Otherwise, I am very satisfied with design and build quality.

I bought this rack three weeks ago for my ski trip to Canada. I was somewhat skeptical at first. I anticipated the product to be of a lower quality compare to a similar products made by Thule or Yakima.

As expected, the box arrived in a timely manner, but with many signs of UPS abuse. I thought I would be returning it. The rack, when removed it out of the box, haven’t a single scratch let alone the dents and cracks.

I was shocked! I said to myself, if this box survived UPS without a single scratch it must to be good 🙂 Construction, Outer shell (cover and base) both are thermoformed and made from a single sheet of black impact-resistant ABS blend and is about as thick as Thule counterpart.

Cover and base are connected via two aluminum hinges along one side and two spring-loaded torsion hinges front and back. The rack has two sets of keys and one lock which comes preinstalled from SportRack.

The lock has a safety feature which prohibits a removal of the key once the rack is open. The key would come out once the cover is closed. Interior, The rack doesn’t have any straps or dividers to keep the skis and/or snowboard isolated.

I would recommend placing the skis inside the ski bag before placing them inside the rack. I was able to fit three pairs of skis and poles, one hand bag inside without an issue. Hardware and installation, The rack is not very heavy.

I’ve managed to place it on top of my SUV without much effort. The hardware, although seemingly complicated at first, wasn’t difficult at all. I agree, however, with some reviews I’ve read online about manufacturer instructions being complicated.

I would recommend a revision with clarifications and better visual. The most confusing step was to figure out the order of hardware assembly. It took me a few minutes to figure out what goes where and how.

After that the process was a breeze. In case someone out there wonders how to correctly install the hardware here it is: There are two metal plates, narrow and a wide, and a U-channel for each contact point between the rack and a car.

The thick narrow plate goes inside the rack and is to be aligned with predrilled holes at the bottom of the base. The wide plate is placed outside the rack directly below the plate that is inside the rack.

The U-channel goes underneath the cross bar directly below the wide plate. The U-channel is installed in the upside down fashion so that the two rails are facing down like so ∩. The key is to do one section at the time.

Install the bolts one-by-one. Screw on the wing nuts from the inside of the rack. Make enough turns so that the bolt doesn’t fall on the roof of the car, but do not tighten them yet. Once everything is in place, begin tightening both wing nuts simultaneously while keeping an eye on the U-channel plate.

Once secured, it should be parallel with the roof of your car. Once secured, the box seemed mush sturdier than before. Driving, The rack, although not completely silent, produces a lot less noise than the scissor-style open ski racks I have.

Most of the noise was coming from the cross bars. On the way to resort I was checking the hardware integrity of the rack at every stop we’ve made. Everything seemed and felt as secure as it was when I installed it.

Overall I am very pleased with this product and with how it performed so far. I would highly recommend this rack to anyone who is looking for a good and inexpensive alternative.

After much research, and considering more expensive products (Yakima and Thule), I purchased this product. Sportrack appears to be the budget brand of Thule. Thus far I am very pleased with this product.

Installation was fairly straightforward (did it by myself, two people would be even easier). Really make sure the “Easy Snap”‘s are fully open before attempting to insert the U-Bolts. By default, at least mine, the “Easy Snap”s open just slightly, which will lead you to believe they are fully open.

They open even more to allow the threaded portion of the U-bolt to pass through. If you don’t open/twist the “Easy Snap”s all the way and attempt to force the U-bolts in you will strip the black plastic threads.

The Sportrack Installation Manual could be more explicit in this detail. I would say the “Easy Snap”s certainly function well enough but are not as elegant/efficient as the more expensive brands like Yakima and Thule with respect to mounting to the crossbars.

In other words, if you plan to take this on and off a lot, the claw type mounting feature offered in those brands is probably the way to go. That said, the roof box looks great and is relatively quiet at highway speeds.

The pull-down handle is a nice feature, especially when installed on a tall vehicle. One thing to note, at the time of purchase, the SR0711 (this product) is not currently listed in the Sportrack fit guide (Doh!).

All said, happy with product.

This box holds my camping gear, stinky hiking boots, and dirty clothing on camping trips, and frees up the car’s interior for sleeping inside in the rain. I love the design and functionality. No wind noise and have not noticed an increase in gas mileage due to resistance.

The box is shaped aerodynamically and has a low profile. Was able to get a white one, which looks like it was made for my white RAV4. Stylish and functional. Easy to install. And in the winter, skis and poles will fit in and no longer get the car’s interior wet and dirty.

Loving everything about this box!.

I purchased multiple Inno products (a subsidiary of a Japanese company) with lifetime warranties. When I had a problem, I contacted (with some difficulty) their “customer support”. It was acknowledged that the company had a lifetime warranty but they simply refused to honor it despite federal law.

Components simply “rotted” according to their “engineer” and they claimed this was “wear and tear. ” The product became complete unuseable since the component could not be replaced. Do NOT buy from this company.

I was on the search for a cargo box that would not add a lot of height to the car as my building has a parking garage with not a ton of clearance, so it had to be low profile, fit a few pairs of skis/snowboards(180cm ski length) and not impede the hatch opening.

Finding information on which boxes would work on a 2019 Audi Q5 with factory crossbars was not as easy as I had hoped, not to mention the fact that it is during the pandemic and cargo boxes seem to be one of those unicorn items that are impossible to find right now.

After a good amount of research it looked like the Inno Wedge 660 would fit and REI happened to have one of these in stock and it was exactly what I was looking for. It looks like it was made for the car along with being very low profile and easy to install.

I would highly recommend.

Even though it’s not the cheapest option, I was very impressed by the quality of the materials, big size and easy and safe installation without passing straps inside the car, making the installation much more convenient and safe.

My car does not have roof rails but that is not a problem at all because this bag is coming with 4 door hooks, which are easily connected directly to the car body. The bag itself is firm and very well made.

It has heavy-duty zipper, which is completely covered by thick waterproof cover. The bottom of the bag is protected with a thick built-in mat to prevent accidental scratches to the roof. It took me just a few minutes to install this bag on my car.

I was able to fit in all my camping equipment and it still had plenty of empty space inside. I strapped it firmly and made took it for test drive. There were no issues at all. I could barely feel that the bag is installed on the roof.

Very quiet! It was also very easy to uninstall and to fold it up and moreover it does not need extra storage space. This car bag exceeded all my expectations. I am very happy with this purchase.

Please don’t buy this item if you do not have a roof rack. I have a 2017 grand Jeep Cherokee. I have side rails but they are completely attached to my vehicle there is no way for me to get the straps around without buying cross bars.

They give you ONE long strap to put over the top and it goes through the doors and clips on the inside. The strap is super thin and not very thick. You can’t tighten the strap and keep it tight, even if you close the doors on the strap.

It doesn’t keep it tight enough to keep the bag secure. The bag alone is strong and sturdy. I have a family so I like to out alot of my things on the roof rather then inside and the shape makes it kinda hard, but over all this bag would be a great fit for someone who does have side rails.

On the first use this tore apart, and I had to spend money to ship items to my destination UPS instead. Almost destroyed my car! Gas mileage was half my normal, and oil light came on because the cargo bag was causing so much drag on the car it had to work really hard.

Not waterproof! My items were wet before it ripped.

For the price and usability. Cant go wrong. Will Handle downpour rains. Only issue was we used the long straps (you use those if you dont have side rails or a rack on your roof) to secure through the car as an extra precaution and when it did rain constantly, the straps soaked up the water and was leaking inside the car.

Removing them solved the issue.

For the most part I liked the size of cargo rooftop storage. It fit perfectly between the bars on my Chevy Traverse, and the added slip mat made it even more secure. This gave us more room in our car for our extended weekend trip.

Installation was a bit difficult, the straps were the most difficult I fell that if the straps were ratchet style, it would of been much easier to install and have a more secure hold. Also, If the straps were attached to the bag and be able to extend would have been great because I fell like it took a long time to install.

We ended up tying knots with the straps for extra security. I kept looking in the rearview mirror to see if it got lose but, it didn’t. I’ll give this product a 3. 5 out of 5, just because of the long install and I was worried about the stitching(which didn’t seem secure) and the straps.

I would recommend to family and friends but, with an additional purchase of ratchet style straps.

Great heavy duty bag so far. Taken on multiple 300 milage trips with varying rain, heat, wind etc and still holding strong. The 15 cubic capacity is a little too large in my opinion (height wise). I think the 10 would have been better, but otherwise holds a ton of stuff.

But i absolutely HATE the fact that this bag only has zippers that goes around two sides instead of three. Makes loading and unloading stuff awkward and painfully time consuming trying to keep the top flap open.

I dont understand why only two sides of zippers instead of three so the top becomes an easy flap? Just doesnt make sense to me. That alone is why its a 3/5 for me. Otherwise solid bag.

I got the Cargo Smart 10 cu/ft cargo bag for packing extra vacation stuff in our van. I also have the Cargo Smart non-skid protective roof pad to keep the bag in place. The bag looks to be well built with nice reinforced areas where the loops for the tie down straps go.

I suspect if something is to fail it will be the straps before the bag itself. The bag claims to be rainproof and has a nice velcro flap that goes over the zipper to keep the rain out. I haven’t used the bag in the rain yet, but won’t be putting anything in the bag to test the rainproof-ness of it either.

Overall, it looks to be a well built bag that will last a long time for our family.

This storage container comes with a separate zippered cooler bag, which will store up to 30 can’s of soda etc. The design is aesthetically nice with several flat outside pockets for small items. Workmanship is good.

The only con I have is, the bottoms of each compartment could of been manufactured with a bit more support. Non the less, it’s a nice buy for the price! I see it being used for many types of errands.

I use it for shopping in Sam’s Club when using the Shop N Go application along with sporting event activities. Bought another to keep the car trunk organized with our emergency backpack, umbrella tote, hoddies, blanket and first-aid kit.

We had this item delivered, it arrived a day earlier with good packaging. We would recommend this product! The reason for a 4 star rating was only due to the compartmental bottoms not having a stronger support base.

We recommend this purchase. firmer support for weight bearing items.

This car grocery organizer is of really good quality compared any others I’ve had in the past. The fabric is sturdy and doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart with repeated use. The patterns are bright and cheerful.

It has so many pockets for organization. Also has several cooler pockets and one removable cooler bag. The size also makes more sense, It’s a little larger than different ones I’ve had prior, which really makes a difference fitting grocery packages flat without tilting.

I bought one as a gift and after it arrived I liked it so much that I bought one for myself too!.

I LOVE this organizer! We have a 2017 Honda Pilot Elite and it fits perfectly in the dip down section in our back cargo area. We shop at Sams regularly and I love the ability to pack our groceries in this organizer straight from my buggy.

It prevents items from rolling around or spilling in the cargo section. My son usually picks the whole organizer up and carries it inside our house with the groceries in it. I don’t think it’s designed to do that but it works for us for now and is holding up really well.

It folds completely flat when not in use. I’ve thought about buying more for gifts for others because it is great.

I had been looking for a well-bilt, attractive storage box for my SUV off and on for several years but found myself settling; figured Thule would “check the boxes” but until recently, I couldn’t find where they even offered such.

Much like other Thule products, it is attractive and built with strong, quality products you can see and feel– functional and deserving of a place in the back of my SUV. I almost went with 4 stars as it can, at times, move around some when open and not in use; the light weight storage container does however feature a strong, durable material that will engage when employed that gets the job done– without additional weight or a Velcro bottom.

The product quality is as good as it looks and what you expect from Thule. Is it worth the cost? maybe, I do know that I am very happy with the purchase and won’t need to look further– so, I would say yes, it probably is.

This go box is quite handy in the trunk, I have one open to keep towels, a blanket, water bottles and a couple other items in the trunk at all times. There is a second one folded up if I need more storage to keep items such as groceries from flying all over the place while driving.

The only additional ask for the price point would be to have at least one (ideally more) smaller pockets on the long sides of the box. The front is really just a bungee’d piece to hold items against the box.

Very functional and all the quality and attention to design detail I depend upon from Thule. Of course theres a premium to pay over other makes, but quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.

Thus is perfect for our suv! Stuff doesn’t roll around in there. Holds a decent amount of groceries. This is a very strudy product. I bought 2!

I am totally surprised at how sturdy and super nice this item is. Definitely well worth the purchase and at a price that you cannot beat!!!

I’ve used this cargo carrier one time. The second time I went to use it the light bulb was burnt out. It turns out you can’t replace just the bulb but instead the whole light assembly must be replaced.

Part TH05252. Unfortunately it seems nobody sells it. For $600 I got one use out of it. I can’t use it on my trip now. So frustrating.

Love it. No ladders to fill it. Wife and kids can pack car. No worry about parking garages. No wind noise, decreased fuel economy. No shoulder injuries putting it on the roof. Can easily open lift gate on Acura MDX and Subaru Outback.

Ingenious adapter for 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitched. Totally dry. You don’t need huge SUV on family trips. You can use 3rd row seat for kids and add this for luggage. Can use this and roof rack for long trips.

Its a great carrier. Used it for a couple of years now and love it. If your light goes out just look on local trailer store or Amazon for trailer light 45202. I just replaced the light after many years of usage and it worked great.

Its way cheaper then etrailer site.

This is an excellent organizer that truly has a place for everything. It was purchased as a replacement for the Griot’s Organizer I bought several years ago. I had to replace the old one due to the deterioration of the fabric that left red cloth particles all over the trunk of my 64 GTO show car.

I tried spraying the old bag with a clear coat of body paint, but it didn’t help. I’m 84 years old now and the new Organizer will probably outlast me before it deteriorates like the last one.

I purchased this, I thought it would be great. It looks like it would, but it isn’t. This is the only product I’ve purchased from Griot’s that I didn’t like. The elastic mesh pockets a almost too small, you have to fight to get the products in them.

The handle doesn’t hinge, making removing or putting the polisher nearly impossible to put in or take out & even worse if you have any products in the mesh pouches. The Extension cord holder is impossible to use.

The only thing I like is the towel storage.

Recently upgraded my buffing arsenal from an original ‘90s Griot’s random orbital to the G9 and G8. Selected the Organizer Bag III to preserve, protect and transport all of my critical car care items when not in use.

Wow. This bag is extremely well designed and constructed! In my humble opinion, it’s worth twice the price! Richard, if and when you expand the line to include luggage, I’ll strongly consider upgrading from my set of Hartmann’s (which I truly love) !.

We have a 2007 CRV. We are a family of 4 with a new puppy and need more space for weekend trips. Instead of purchasing a bigger vehicle, we decided to get a roof top carrier first to see if that met our needs.

This is a great carrier. My husband installed it easily and quickly. He drilled an extra set of holes so the carrier would line up more to our liking (front to back alignment). We attached this to after market crossbars that my husband installed.

We plan on leaving this on the vehicle until the fall. We take a lot of day and weekend trips so it just makes sense to leave it on full time for now. We are able to just toss our stuff in the carrier and get in the car and go.

I have driven at multiple speeds and do not even realize it is on the vehicle and I can’t really say that I have noticed a negative impact on gas mileage. We researched several carriers all over the Internet; including many of the well known brands.

We ultimately went with this one because it is made in the USA, it is really made by a more well known carrier company (I learned SportRack is made by Thule); it could easily be returned if for some reason we did not like it or it didn’t work for our vehicle; and the shipping was free with site to store.

It arrived within several days. I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled this time as the other reviews really helped us make our decision and this really is a great product for the price. Others have commented on the plastic hinges.

Yes, they are plastic but they seem sturdy and it’s not like the carrier is going to be opened and closed everyday several times a day.

We purchased this carrier for our 2012 Subaru Outback for a holiday road trip. We were bringing our dog, so we didn’t have any room in the rear cargo area. This carrier is large enough to hold bags for a family of four (with winter clothes) and various Christmas presents.

It’s big! It did a pretty good job of keeping the water out. We did drive through a heavy rainstorm with approx 25mph winds and some water did seep in around the edges, but it was minimal. With the strength of the storm and highway conditions that we drove through, it did better than I thought it would.

The Roof Box mounted very securely and I had no problems with it loosening or shifting on the trip. It took about 15 minutes to mount and about 10 to remove. It’s light enough that one person can carry it.

Our mileage was minimally affected by the carrier. We do this trip a few times a year (visiting the in-laws) and normally get about 30mpg. With the carrier, we got 28. 8mpg. Not bad. For safety’s sake, we limited our top speed to about 73mph.

The roof box ads considerable height to the car’s profile, so we didn’t want to be surprised by any high crosswinds. This roof box was a great value and I’m glad we purchased it. Walmart had it for $179 + tax with free ship-to-store.

Competing sites were in the neighborhood of $300-$350 plus shipping for the exact same product. Subaru’s model (more sleek, but smaller capacity) is in the neighborhood of $480 and higher end boxes from Thule were more than that.

Considering we’ll use this about 4x/year and with it’s larger capacity, this roof box was a no-brainer.

Recently ordered this on here and had it sent to the store for free. I had to take my pick up truck in order to bring it back to the house. If your picking it up in the vehicle it will be mounted on, you don’t need any tools to do so.

And it’s light enough to lift by your self if you can reach your roof, (we drive a Kia soul) if not you will need two people to mount it. I did take one star away though because i had to drill 2 extra holes in order to mount it on my car.

It was very easy to do, even with the wrong size drill bit. I do have very wide rola roof racks though, so I’m sure it would not be a problem with other racks. It took me about 30min at most to have this on and secure.

It came completely assembled and the directions are idiot proof. It’s water tight so far, it’s been snowing for 2 weeks now and it’s been great on top of the car. No noise from it, auctualy quiets down the racks.

Key /lock rear entry is great if you can get to it. Lots and lots of room. Fits my 156cm snowboard. Very durable, but still more flimsy than a $400 one. No complaints here though. Will be driving across country with it soon.
