20 Best Carbon Express Arrows (2022 Updated)

Been the best hunting arrows I have had through the years. Easy to transition and tune going from target tips to broadheads. Very tough and take the abuse of many shots. Very consistent and straight as advertised.

I shoot a Mathews Outback at 70 pounds. My old Carbon Express Maxima arrows were an inch shorter than the Maxima Red I received. I have shot hundreds of arrows using both old and new and do not notice any difference in my 35 yard range.

That holds true for broad heads and field points.

Bought these arrows because I needed a stiffer spine. The store unfortunately didn’t have a cheaper option but these arrows definitely seem to make a difference! I’m a big fan.

First let me say I am a first year Archer and have very little to compare in the way of expensive arrows. I began practicing on a 4 pack of Beman Arrows to see if I was going to stick with my plan to hunt with a bow this year.

6 months I spent shooting the Bemans with very inconsistent groupings. Adjusting and readjusting my sights nearly every time I shot which is every day. With Bemans I was getting 8 inch groupings at 30 yards.

I picked up this 6 pack at Walmart and put 100 gr field tips on them and mixed them in my quiver with the others. WOW, at 30 yards these arrows consistently grouped 2-3 inch max. (Not impressive I know) but I am sold on these over the others.

I have a way to go but am gaining better confidence in myself with better equipment.

Admittedly I was skeptical before making this purchase being that it was right off the shelf in a pre-packaged box in Walmart and not a bow pro-shop. However, the price seemed right for the name brand on the box and I figured with a name like Carbon Express that they couldn’t really be a bad choice.

I don’t regret the purchase, but if I could do it again I might be apt to look at something else. The price tag of $40 really isn’t all that much of a deal when compared to other good brands and quality that’s out there when matched up to a comparable arrow.

The shaft is straight and true, the Blazer vanes are the name brand ones, not knock offs and the knocks are adjustable and are snug enough in the shaft that they don’t slide in and out on their own. The semi-disappointing thing that sticks out for me with this setup is the general sloppy glue job on the vanes.

The vanes don’t look like they had much TLC when they were glued on because it literally looks like the glue was painted on with a popsicle stick, and I’ve already had one vane come clean off in a styrofoam target.

All in all it’s not a bad arrow, however if you have your own fletching tool and glue I would highly recommend you strip off the vanes and redo it yourself before you even take a shot. The materials are quality, just doesn’t seem the craftsmanship on the assembly line is.

If someone asked me if they should get them I would first recommend looking around at all their options, but over all I wouldn’t steer them away from Speed Freaks. If it wasn’t for the poor glue on the vanes this would be a 5 star Overall rating instead of my 4 stars, and if the price was closer to $30 – $35 the Value would be a bit better, and more appropriate.

I bought these arrows today. I have shot Easton Hexx, Redhead X5, X3 and X1, Goldentip, Easton Bloodline. I can group about 6 arrows in a 2″ group at 50 yards. I bought these today because they were carbon express and at walmart by my work.

We recently moved away from cabelas or bass pro and I thought these would work fine. These arrows shot out of the same bow I always use at about a 8″ group at 20 yards into my target. I shot all six three times.

On the third time one of the arrows blew up either before it hit the target or upon impact. These are the worst arrows I have ever used. Please do not waste your money. By any other arrow but these. Also, this was my first time shooting carbon express and I will say that after shooting these I do not know if I want to try any of their other arrows out.

Sighted in using regular nocks and shot great, really like the penetration of a heavier arrow. Switched to lighted nocks and shot a few rounds to make sure all was still good. The lighted nocks performed flawlessly in accuracy (no adjustments from regular nocks) as well as mechanically.

They turned off with ease. I was talking them up at that point. Fast forward 5 days and first shot the plastic piece on nock broke in flight so now it is useless. Read amazon reviews, this is a common problem.

Another one no longer turns on when shot, I have to mess with it for a good connection. 3rd one still works for now. My suggestion is to buy the arrows without the lighted nocks, can get a 6pk for the price of these.

Then go buy a different set of lighted nocks if you want them.

Well i goi g to be honest. These are not what they claim. I you don’t believe me weight them or even better get Cabela’s to weight some right out of the box. The advertised 442 gr with 100 gr feild points.

I have bought 6 boxes in the last 3 years and none of them weight 344 gr. Had Cabela’s in Dartmouth weight some new ones and they still weighted the same as mine. Ranging from 453 to 489 with 99. 2 to 101.

3 gr field points. I number them all and grouped the same weighted ones and then shot them all. They went all over the place. Took the 3 that grouped good and set my scope to zer them in every time i bust one i have to go get the next group an re sight in.

I have tried onther types and so far these are the worst I’ve tested.

Bought these for my son to shoot out of his Bear Legit bow. Fetching came off almost immediately, had them reflected and they are doing the same thing. Even let them dry for 48+ hours. This was at 50lbs.

At 60lbs the shafts are now starting to Crack. I’d spend a few more dollars and buy better arrows. oh wait I am. I shoot an APA v7 with bloodlines and minus a few cracked shafts due to 70lb draw weight and a few hundred shots they’ve held up quite nicely.

Carbon Express uses ‘Adjusted Draw Weight’ while selecting the spine for the Red’s. They are one of few companies if any that does this as opposed to allowing the user to select spine off of a simple matrix style guide.

You would require the Carbon Express adjusted weight formula and an abacus to to determine your adjusted spine weight. The risk is selecting an underspined shaft which is what occurred in my case. I should point out that the Cabelas ‘pro’ agreed with my selection when I questioned the 250’s.

When these arrows first hit the market people bought them because they were just plain awesome. Today that still holds true! Great tolerances and well made! A definate buy!!

I was going to purchase more gold tips, or try the full metal jackets my friend likes. I read reviews on outdoor and bow hunting sites placing these in the upper range of good hunting arrows. I figured $15 more, why not, I’ll try em.

I’m not disappointed in the slightest, I had to move my 50 and 60 pins up from my gold tips, so it flys pretty flat. It hits hard, I could hear it in the target, and it penetrated at 40 enough I was a little worried about getting my arrow back from in the target.

I love this arrow, and will never go back. Sorry Goldtip, but you got beat.

I’ve shot these arrows and for the most part find them to be better in toughness than the 2219 aluminum arrows 400gr. In that the aluminum seem to bend very easy and these don’t bend. Usually can use the same arrow to hunt again but have not found that to be true with aluminum.

They do weigh a little more 442 gr, so you should adjust your site accordingly. They also came with the moon, more aggressive C and universal version nocks. Weights given include 100 gr field point (not included).

which are dead accurate within 50 yards. I started stretching the range all the way up to 80 yards and it took 3 or 4 shots to get ranged into within 4 inches of the bullseye. One day I decided to try the Carbon Express Maxima with the Excal’Axiom crossbow I have and first shot at 70 yards 3 inches from bullseye; 2nd shot at 80 yards, the same.

From the view of bolt in the scope it is obvious that they fly faster and straighter with much less fluttering. Great quarrel.

It’s not a bad arrow for the price. Just understand, if you buy six or a dozen you will get 50% that spin true and 50% with a wobble. I myself use the true arrows for deer hunting and the wobblers for hog hunting.

They have definitely paid dividends for what I paid for them. I would recommend them for the value and the quality is good. Thank you.

I bought 6 on sale at Cabela’s a year ago and couldnt be happier. They have each seen over a thousand of shots and fly true to this day. Mayhem DS’s are a bulletproof mid-range option that I would reccomend to any hunter.

I would only caution that the camo can make recovering arrows tougher than it needs to be in some hunting situations.

First time putting together my own arrows (glue inserts, experiment with different fletching, etc. ) 28″ shaft, 3 blazer vanes, insert/outsert etc. plus 100 grain muzzy MX-4 and it weighs over 500 grain.

Very quiet flight compared to standard diameter Bemens. I did have an insert and field point come off but I believe that was an error on my part with the epoxy. At 70lbs, this arrow absolutely rolled over my first gobbler on impact.

Bought these and started shooting them. They shot terribly and couldn’t hold a group at all. I compared them to my gold tips and the gold tips grouped flawlessly. Then after shooting the carbon expresses for a little more, the groups started getting better.

Then I thought they were good, but then I would shoot 3 shot groups and 2 would be right where I want them, then the last one would be 8 inches right. I compared them to my gold tips once again, and still the gold tips hit the same spot every time.

I’m disappointed in these bolts because of the poor consistency.

So far I am happy with this purchase. This is the first time I have used this particular bolt for my Barnett. So far they are accurate. The only reason 4 stars is personal really I like my bolts clean and these have a lot of glue around the fletchings.

I just think that the company could have done better but it does not seem to affect the accuracy.

These bolts are tough and durable but I think there is a problem with their manufacturing tolerances. About half of the bolts I can hit a fly with. The rest are suspect. One for instance flies about five inches to the left and two inches low, the other about three inches low.

So, I’m finding that only half the bolts are usable.

Very disappointed. I had 6 Carbon Express Maxima Red Badlands 350 arrows I had bought previously and used 2 on a hunt. I bought these because I love those arrows and wanted to supplement them. It turns out although the name and packaging are identical, these are completely different arrows.

These are far smaller in diameter, use different inserts (that stick out 1/2/ inch btw and are much heavier than normal CE inserts) and the overall weight is almost 100 grains heavier per arrow. They are completely incompatible with my other CE Maxima Red arrows.

If you’re going to completely change a product you should give it a new name or something. Any normal person is going to assume that if the name, model and spine match up, they’re going to be the same arrow.

I have owned these for about a month now. So far I am liking these new arrows from Carbon Express. I am a service member stationed in the UK. Here they do not allow for hunting so all I have done so far is 3D target shooting.

I was happy to see the care CX puts into all of there products still holds true. So far the only complaints I have are that the SD arrows take a little more time to tune in. Also I have had some issues with the steel inserts coming out the front after some target shooting.

This has happened twice and I only recovered one insert with point. The other? She gone! These are not the cheapest to replace either. So make sure you glue them in well. Great arrow. The only reason the arrow is shooting low for you is because of the arrows smaller diameter. Because of the smaller diameter the arrow sits lower in your rest. If you choose a larger diameter than what you are shooting now then the arrow will hit high.

Nothing is wrong with the arrow. Small diameter arrows hit low large hit high. All due to position in the arrow rest. Nothing to do with how the arrow flys. If you want to use these arrows adjust your sights.

These inserts do not fit either size of my carbon Express arrows. Therefore a much larger shaft size

I used to use regular inserts but had to rough up both the inside of the arrow and the outside of the insert ,,, this speeds up arrow construction and is probably better than the way I originally put them together !! I have had good results when pulling arrows from tight targets ,,, before I have had inserts pull out of the arrow in the targets ,,, not so since using these inserts !!!.

Shipped quickly and I was happy with the product. Gave it 4 stars and not 5 because I ordered the Chartreuse feathers and got blue, but it is a nice bright blue and I will be keeping them.

I have had these shafts for about 18 months and have used them for 3d shoots, straight ranges, stump shooting, and on big game animals. They always shoot accurately and are very strong. Over the last 18 months I have broken 2 shafts.

One was because I hit a sheet of metal. One of those targets where you have to shoot through a window or suffer the wrath of the sheet metal. The other was broken in a car door. They shoot straight and have good penetration.

I have some which are outfitted with brass inserts to get more weight forward. Since swithing to carbon from cedar I have been more than pleased with the performance on the Carbon Express Heritage shafts.

Enough that I do not want to consider changing to another shaft.

These are very good arrows. They however do not stand up well to harder stumps in the great white north. With carbon collars on both ends, they are much more durable for stump shooting, but that means putting another $[$] into a dozen arrows.

Legacy alluminums are much tougher on straight impact shots than these, contrary to what several people have told me. I had to break 3 carbons to find that out. Overall, great arrow. but if you are stump shooting, I highly recommend carbon collars.

I have been using these arrows for many, many years. Have harvested deer with no problem every season. They fly true from my compound bow; and I shoot 3 fingers under the nock. I don’t mind if the fletch is red/white at times when I receive them; the deer I have harvested don’t seem to be bothered.

Sometimes I have received the arrows with the fletch orange/yellow. Again, the color of the fletch has never “spooked,” any deer I have harvested. These XX75’s have been manufactured by Easton for a very long time and I hope they never stop.

And they are made right here in the U. S. A. ! Made right every time; never had a bad batch or a bad arrow from a batch. I have gone through 4 bows over the years and each bow will always be nocked with the Easton XX75.

If it isn’t broke and it works for you, why change? I tried carbon from other companies and Easton too, these XX75’s just keep staying in my quiver.

Price for the specs is very attractive. Bought these last year to replace name brand I had been using forever. They are no longer usa made. So I went with these. I got consistent grouping at 30 to 40yds within 2″ -21/2″.

I’m older and don’t hold as steady as someone younger. Quality seems at high level. They fly true and are American made. Buying more this year to get ready for Sept. elk hunt.

The hit inserts were installed flush with the front of the arrow shaft instead of in the the shaft 3/8ths of an inch or so. Field points and broadheads stick out way to far and only go as deep as the threads on them.

I have removed hit inserts out of fmj 5mm before and had no problem but these inserts have been epoxyed in and no method of removal has budged them. Real disappointed man seeing as I have wasted 130 dollars on arrows I cannot use or resale because of the improper installation on the inserts.
