20 Best Carbon Fiber Insoles (2022 Updated)

After running with these insoles twice, I have adopted them as my 2nd insoles. I alternate between 2 pairs of running shoes, and up to now, have used the same pair of insoles for both pairs. But the Spence pair are very comparable to the Good Feet ones I use (which are not cheap).

They are quite strong and supportive. My only improvement suggestion would be to add a little more cushion on the very front aka the toe box area. It was little thin there. Also get the right size! Not much trim room.

I can push off the ground alot easier and I love how I can switch them into any pair of my running shoes. They are lightweight are perfect to take with you on the go or traveling. I would highly recommend.

I needed new insoles in my 6 year old Mako’s anyways so I gave these a try. My skates are pitched forward to begin with (which I wouldn’t have any other way) so other than feeling a little weird for a couple laps around the rink, there was no big difference.

They definitely feel comfortable and I feel very secure with the new insoles. I find myself putting them in my identical back up pair of skates so that’s got to say something. I wish they were less expensive but I could say that about almost everything.

I’m curious to see how they last. I’m willing to bet they would make a bigger difference for users of a certain brand of skates that leave you flatfooted.

I was experiencing a lot of arch pain after just a couple of miles on my weekly skate so I decided to try these insoles for my USD Aeon 80 and Seba FR1 urban skates. After some breaking in period, my feet does not get tired as fast as before and I can skate longer.

They are made of carbon fiber which mean you will get great arch support, but you will feel more road vibration and they won’t be as comfortable as the non-carbon version. Still, they are worth trying.

Sizing advice: if you are at the upper edge of sizing you may want to size up! For example, I wear skate size 9 so based on the sizing chart I should have picked the size D (7. 5 – 9), but I bough the size E (9.

5 – 11) and they fit great. The heel cup do vary across sizes, so if the cup is too small for you it will be uncomfortable, especially for wide feet. I definitely would recommend going to the story and trying them in person as I did, but if you order online and if you are at the size boundary or you think you got wide feet then order the next size.

You shouldn’t worry about the length as they can be trimmed. I hope this helps.

My wife bought me a pair of Mission Inhalers WM03’s so that I could start playing pick up hockey again and maybe join a team again. The oem insoles were killing my feet. I had them bake on Tuesday but the outside of my foot were still hurting when I laced the boot as tight as possible.

With superfeet the pain has gone away completely and I did not know these existed until I found them here. I am so glad I found them on here because they saved my skates. I was almost going to return them but now my Missions feel great!.

My 12 year old son has been using these inserts for 2 years to help with fallen arches and growing pains. They are very supportive and durable. We had to size up as his foot had grown. When we attended the rehab facility after a consultation with an orthopedic doctor, which resulted in over $200 worth of visits, copay, time, and these arch supports, this was a recommended suggestion by the physical therapist who was working with him on arch strengthening exercises.

I wish we could. have gone back, saved our money and just invested in these in the beginning. He no longer complains of foot pain and uses them daily in his tennis shoes and sports shoes. They have been a lifesaver! I highly recommend these to all of our friends who have kids complaining of the same symptoms.

Insoles are personal things, of course. All I know is that this one works for me to provide good moderate arch support. I’m in my late 60’s and injured my instep last year on a walk, something popped in my arch (not good).

I bought these following assessment of my feet / gait and recommendation from a sports physician. I’ve only just started to use them, so can’t really comment yet on how effective they are at relieving the problems I have, but I will say they seem pretty comfortable and good quality, and ordering / delivery process was good.

My biggest gripe so far – I have UK size 3. 5-4 feet. I ordered the smallest size I could find (size A ) and they are too big for my shoes. I have needed to trim them (carefully) with scissors so I can fit them inside my shoes.

It would be brilliant if you can make these in smaller sizes so that you can tailor for those of us with very small feet!.

All i can say is wow man. I was totally skeptical because i have never heard of ariat before, but as soon as the package arrived and i pulled these out i knew they were the real deal. They come in a high quality clear plastic-rubbery pouch with snap buttons which i can re use, and when the manufacturer uses nice packaging like that you know its the real deal.

The soles feel really good to the touch, the whicking cotton is fuzzy and cottony, but at the same time smooth like silk, this helps greatly with friction caused by heavy work and also feels good to the foot, and also makes inserting the soles into a new shoe or boot easy as cake, no fighting to get it in there, and size was dead on.

The sole is very comfortable and supportave to my foot. Ive always been scared of the gel soles due to the fact i wear heavy steel toe combat boots and work outdoors, i was worried my bony foot would destroy the gel, but so far its holding up strong.

A few years ago my arches feel in my feet so now i haft to have abundant arch support which these provide without having a big hump in the middle, i dont know how but it works and its comfy. What i like most is the secondary gel pad up front, that helps with the bottom of the toe knuckles.

Overall i am very satisfied with these soles, better than dr scholls and walmart brands all day.

My son only wears Ariat Quickdraw boots. The inserts in his previous pair were worn and falling apart, causing lots of angst every time we would leave the house. I purchased these as a replacement, to hold us over until he needed the next size boots.

He was reluctant at first for the change, but we slipped them in and I never heard about the inserts again. Until this week. He finally needed new boots, and thankfully our local Western store had his new size and color in stock.

On the drive home he asked for his old boots, so he could put these inserts in his new boots. So I am back buying the next size up for his new boots! (And thinking perhaps I need some for my boots, too!).

I first experienced Ariat ATS footbeds in a pair of Ariat lace-ups; then I bought a pair of Ariat work boots that had them in them. I wore the footbeds in my lace-ups and had to order them through a local Western Boot store for around $34.

00 plus tax. I stole the ones from my worn our Ariat work boots and wear them in my 511 Tactical boots. The pair I just ordered will replace those. I have problems with my feet, bursitis & tendonitis, due to working too many hours on my feet in a job that was very hard on them.

I need firm support and their old insoles worked perfectly for me, not so much for these new ones. Right now I’m pretty disappointed in them as they’re causing me problems with my left foot. They are thicker than the old ones, making my shoes fit tighter and cupped more.

The dis-similar materials on the bottom of them may be the culprit. I’ll update this review after I figure out what’s going on.

Pros: 1. Excellent arch support for people with flat feet who need a sustained noncompressible arch. 2. Placement of arch fit my feet well. 3. Has different density foams on the heel that act as a slight medial post to help with over-pronation.

4. Significantly less expensive than custom orthotics. 5. Excellent customer service. 6. Free shipping. Cons: 1. Top foam over heel & arch is thin, could be softer and more supportive over the hard plastic parts.

2. Foam at the forefoot is very supportive and provides great cushion but it is bulky and crowds my shoes. Any thinner yet still effective options? 3. Sesamoid/metatarsal pad is strangely shaped. Rather than being almond shaped it has a protrusion toward the big toe.

This can interfere with the sesamoid bones. I noticed later made Spenco orthotics to have a normal slightly raised almond shaped pad. Can you go back and revise the one on this orthotic? 4. The dual density red & blue foam under the heel sits in place of the hard black plastic which makes for a cushioned heel BUT there is a black hard plastic strip between them which is uncomfortable after long wear.

My heels feel it and it makes them sore. Please consider removing this part. I’d pay extra for the cons to be corrected because the structure of this orthotic is excellent.

I thought the insoles would be more comfortable than they were. I have flat feet and the arch support doesn’t work for me. The first pair of insoles I bought were very comfortable. There were no arch supports just a very soft cushion.

They were green and because I am on my feet all day they were great. I don’t remember which ones they were. If you could look back on my first order and tell me which ones they were, so I could buy them again I would really appreciate it.

I was having foot pain and ordered two insoles from spenco. The insoles helped. But it was not a cure. I went to see a podiatrist. He carved off some wart like dead skin. During the examination he asked If I wore insoles.

I said I did and he inspected them. He bragged on them and said they are very helpful. And to keep using them. A podiatrist recommendation like that is a great testament to spenco.

In principle I am very pleased with these soles. I was recommended them by my chiropodist. I bought 2 pairs, but so far have only put one into use. The problem I have is that because they are 3/4 length they do not seem to grip the base of the shoe very well and they slide around when walking.

I am considering returning the second pair, with the intention of buying a full length pair in their place. I think they may stay better in place.

I have suffered from probation for years. I recently bought custom made shoes, but they have flat soles which don’t quite give my feet the support I need, so my feet hurt if I wear them for long periods.

I was worried about finding insoles that would fit my shoes, since these were already made to fit perfectly, but these do not mess with the fit of the shoe, and after a day of use, my feet stopped hurting.

These are now the most confortable shoes I own.

In August of 2016 I was diagnosed with PTTD (a form of tendonitis of the foot). Podiatrist put me in 2 different ankle braces (to limit range of motion). Eventually he wanted to put me in a permanent custom orthotic that was gonna cost over $900 bucks.

I did not want to go that route, so I tried various insoles. Some would help initially somewhat but not as much as I wanted or needed. I started thinking I may have to get the custom orthotic. I eventually came across these and gave them a shot (only about $20 bucks, can’t beat that).

Before I developed this foot problem, I walked several miles daily, after I developed it I could only walk a few blocks even with inserts before I’d start having problems. Today for the first time in almost 7 months, I was able to walk nearly 2 miles.

These insoles gave me my freedom back. Sure I’ll still have to be careful and not overdo it but wow what a difference these have made. I highly recommend them. They offer great support for fallen arches (my problem).

They are comfortable to wear (if your new to inserts may have to get used to them, but for me there was no break in period because I had already been using others). They seem well made, I’m really happy with them.

I can’t comment on the longevity of these, but they are the most comfortable insoles I’ve tried. I replaced my Pinnacle MAXX with these in my workshoes. Walking 5 miles on rough ground (pushing a load) was the best yet.

I’m a fairly severe over-pronator. Both the Pinnacle MAX, and these Pinnacle Powerstep MF seem to be reasonable in correcting to my over pronation, the source of which is the offset of my ankle bones into the foot.

They have been quite comfortable, but are still fairly new. I’m grateful to be able to purchase great insoles made in the USA. I do not purchase anything made in China, which includes many of the insoles available.

These fit well into my Carolina (made in Pennsylvania) workshoes.

These feel good first thing in the morning, and stay comfortable all day long. I’d bought some plushy-soled shoes I thought would provide relief from foot pain while walking, but these do far better.

Paired with a good supportive walking shoe, there are even times during the day I don’t think about my feet, even on long walks! Great product!.

I am a security guard and constantly standing on my feet and walking for hours. I was struggling to find comfortable insoles for my boots. These power step insoles are great and I’m glad I gave them a try.

A lifetime of walking on extremely flat feet finally caused pretty significant arthritis and major limitations on walking. I used to walk 5 or more miles when I suddenly developed pain severe enough to limit even household weight bearing.

A new tech material in a existing product I have used for 15+ years so I tried it. Not bad but I felt the arch was lower height than I am use to. I purchased one of each material and compared. The benefit is weight reduction of some gram or ounce amount, not needed.

I may try again in next 6 months. Why? I buy a new pair of shoes and super feet every six months. This keeps me away from the Plantar Fasciitis doctor.

I use these in both my everyday shoes, my ice hockey skates and inline skates. I’ve been using these by recommendation of my physiotherapist and they have helped so much in helping me walk. I have large wide feet with collapsed arches, Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fascitis.

These are absolutely fantastic, they don’t take up any space in my shoes and fit perfectly in my skates with are already snug. Make sure you replace any insoles you already have or you won’t have space and check the sizing.

I had to trim the ends as they were a tiny bit long. They have a hard plastic bottom and a soft foam insole on top, you need to take your time getting used to them and wear them for no more than a few hours to begin with.

I’ve used the same pair for almost three years and I’ve glued them back together as the glue degraded – but the actual sole and foam topper is still in perfect condition even after going through the washing machine.

I was using crutches daily before and I can now run, skate and walk for more than 30 minutes without extreme pain. I would spend any amount of money to ensure I could wear these, I truly wouldn’t choose any other brand for my hockey insoles as they are simply perfect for me.

I was suffering from tender, sore heels. I thought I may have had Plantar Fasciitis. My ortho doc recommended Sorbothane Ultra Sole – the blue and orange ones, not the graphite, etc. They are silicone-like and provide needed cushioning as fat pads disappear.

These really helped get me out of orthotics that my physical therapist determined were the source of my back issues. However, both pairs are literally falling apart after only 3 weeks of use. The top fabric is peeling off of the bottom section of the insole.

I’m shocked at the very poor construction and am disappointed because they feel terrific and have helped me immensely. The construction is simply awful and I want a replacement as the 1st 2 pairs are not even in my shoes for 3 weeks and they’re literally falling apart.

For me and my spouse, these are excellent. The Sorbothane graphite insert gives all my ” Cute” suede winter boots the arch support they did not have. They do have to be wide enough to handle the insert.

Same for my spring trail boots, urban engineer boots, and summer yard sneakers. I can walk for hours using these without issue.

For the last three years I have been trying different off-the-shelf insoles without too much help. Three months ago I changed for the L2405 (men, hi-arch, metatarsal support, customizable) and I can walk painless, again.

On top of that, the upper layer truly kills bacteria for an additional benefit. Highly recommended. Should you not know how to choose your insole, walk to one of the stores that resell these Aetrex supports, where they will recommend the model that will benefit you the most.

I could not find in the Aetrex website a list of those shops, but you can Google and call before your visit.

These are the best BAR NONE. I have seriously messed up lower legs and these orthotics have been the missing piece. The ability to customize them to my feet is amazing and they have never caused any blister or pain issue ever.

These support my stupid high arch better then anything else I have every tried. I am a convert and walk so much with these I will buy a new pair every year!! Thank you!!.

I bought the L2400 and I have an issue with my right foot on the far outside with calluses and was able to remove that pad under the problem which then helped relieve the problem. These are great for a certain problem area on your feet.

I wear Superfeet regularly, and have done so for the last 15 years. I usually use the pink ones in my hiking and athletic boots, as well as thinner dark green ones more suited for daily use in my dress work shoes.

I am on my feet regularly, and they keep my feet happy. They are great. These do not feel like typical Superfeet. They do not have as much arch support in the center arch of the foot, which is what Superfeet is great for.

So that part was disappointing. However, the shock absorption is excellent. For example, when dismounting from a horse, my feet start about four feet off the ground. It usually hurts when hitting the ground.

These insoles take that pain away. If they can eliminate pain from a drop of four feet, they probably will take shock instead of your joints for hundreds of miles of hiking also. They also feel a bit tall in the back, and lower in the front, which was unexpected and not desired.

This is probably to accommodate the shock absorption, and might change with use. Overall I would recommend them for shock absorption, but prefer the pink ones.

I was looking for supportive inserts for new hiking shoes and bought these Superfeet trailblazers sight unseen online. On the upside, the cushion in the heel is helpful and the overall feel of the insert is high quality.

However, I had to return them for a couple of reasons. I found the heel cup to be too deep making a ridge that rubbed my heel and more importantly, the arch was not supportive enough for me. Since I returned these to the store, I decided to try out a half dozen other inserts.

The sales person who helped me said that Superfeet’s arch tends to be set too far back for most people so sizing up is key. We tried this which then placed the arch in the right spot. However, it still left a gap for me so I switched to another brand that offered more support, again playing around with size to get the arch placed correctly.

Definitely good learning!.

I bought these with the hope that they would reduce general fatigue in my feet for a longer backpacking trip. Instead, I ended up with multiple blisters on both feet particularly around the inside and outside of my heels and the inside part of my arches.

I took the insoles out of my boots and compared them to my feet; all of the blisters line up exactly where the edge of the insoles meet my feet. I think the heel on these is cupped too deep and leads to this blister/rubbing issue.

Superfeet has a 60 day guarantee so will be seeing if I can get a refund. Not happy at all and will be putting my original boot insoles back.

I use four different insoles. Custom made orthotics, the stock liner and a one aftermarket liner like the SoleStar. I must say I will be riding with the Solestar. They have a grippiness that keeps my foot firmly planted within the shoe.

I really like what this does for power transfer. I ride Shimano shoes exclusively and have a new Sphyre 44. 5 for racing (I usually ride a 45 shoe for training). I size these shoes 1/2 size smaller than my training shoe to keep my foot more secure while riding hard as well as I only use thin socks with these shoes.

With my training shoe I will often wear thick wool socks for fall and winter training. The Solestar liners are a bit thicker than the stock liner which makes my Sphyre shoes a bit tighter. The other notable feature is that the arch of the Solestar has a more volume than the stock liner.

I notice this primarily when walking which can pinch slightly. Im hopeful that the shoes and liner stretch out a bit to ease the tightness in the arch when walking. But on the bike I love the Solestar and will be riding with them exclusively.

I can’t wait to try the Solestar liners in my training shoes which have more room. If buying new shoes I would suggest one size up. 5 size to allow more room for the Solestar liner.

I got my carbon footbed and was so impressed with the quality I wanted to follow directions and give them a chance to breakin prior to commenting. I’ll cover the negative first: The footbed does have a little more volume than my previous ones which were Specialized body geometry.

At first I was not sure I’d keep them. Second, the surface of the footbed is a rubbery material which grabs my socks and crams them into my toes. Ouch! The positive: These are by far the most effective footbeds I’ve ever had.

The volume became less noticeable as I used them and they seated in. My forefoot is now nearly 100% used for downward force. I have more power when pedaling and feel more comfortable. The Arch and metatarsal bump are placed so that my entire foot feels captive, secure with no hotspots.

In a sense I feel safer with them on because of the control I have with my bike. They’re having a sale right now and I’m tempted to buy another pair for my other SIDI shoes. This was a good purchase.

On the recommendation of a professional bike fitter I bought these to replace my 40 year old custom orthotics. They were immediately comfortable, but my pronation really did require varus lift. These insoles I think are a minus 1 degree varis.

I added a 2 degree wedge under my cleats and found the perfect compromise. (My S-Works shoes supposedly have 1 degree positive varus built in)The price seemed kind of stiff, but compared to $400. 00 for podiatrist custom made insoles I’m happy.

This is the first time I’ve been aware of any arch support in a bike shoe. My longest ride so far is about 50 miles. We’ll see if anything different emerges after a century. My #1 concern is the health of my knees.

I had looked everywhere for a replacement for the old style of New Balance insoles. These 10 Seconds 3810 Ultra Arch Support Insoles are actually better than the old New Balance insoles. These feel so good on my feet that I have bought bigger shoes just to accommodate the thickness / height of the insoles.

I will no longer wear a shoe if this insole won’t fit into the shoe. The thickness / height of the insole may be a problem for some people. My tired, arthritis-inflected, aching feet LOVE these insoles.

I have plantar fasciitis. I have had it for around 1. 6 years. The only thing that has helped was by getting a shot. My last shot didn’t help. The pain in my heel was getting really bad again. I tried a couple different insoles.

They didn’t work. This insole from the The Insole Store has been awesome. All the heel pain disappeared from day 1. Unbelievable.

I love how my feet feel with these arches. I have a very high arch and these are the best I have found so far. I did not receive the 1st shipment as it was put in the wrong mailbox but delivered to the correct row of boxes.

Someone else got it. I told USPS and the insolestore. com and they re-shipped the insoles to me. I am so happy with their customer service.

I have had chronic foot and leg pain if I walk or stand for more than 15 minutes at a time. I noticed how painful my outdoor walks had become and realized that my Aetrex insoles were probably worn out.

Once I got 2 sets of new L2420s, I have been able to enjoy walks around the lake again. I also grocery shop in my shoes with the Aetrex insoles to significantly reduces the pain from standing and walking.

I have been wearing Aetrex insoles for several years now. The 2220 which has helped relieve pain lately my feet have started hurting at the heel and ball of foot. I replaced my 2220 with not much relief so I went to a store that has the machine for Aetrex and they suggested the L2420.

The lady took a few of the pink slots out and said that I could put them back if no relief. If anything my pain was worse. Tried to put pieces back and they do not stay and diffently do not get your shoes a little wet because they will fall apart.

Had them less than a month.

I was having a lot of metatarsal pain with my right foot! My sister suggested theses inserts, and after 2 weeks I am pain free!!! You may want to let folks know, that relief is not instant. I almost gave up after 2 days.

but then, I always want instant gratification. lol I was reluctant of the cost as well. But they are worth every penny and more!!!.

I’m about 2 weeks into it. I trimmed the insert as instructed after receiving your written instructions. I think it would help to get those instructions with the product. For instance, I was unaware that you the original shoe insert should remain and the protalus be placed on top.

I am somewhat concerned so far, as this makes my foot almost too high in the shoe, even when I loosen the strings as much as possible. This makes me more prone to ankle turnover/sprain. Also, I am getting an odd reaction in that my right toe becomes numb, which means I’m not getting good circulation.

I give the Elite a 3+ for my hiking boots because did not give my toes enough wiggle room. I then tried them in a pair of sneakers and give it 5 stars. However, the best one for me personally is the T-100 as it allows more flexibility in switching out between footwear since it is thinner but still gives excellent support.

On price. yes, they are expensive but comparable to others. Have they helped my Plantar Fasciitis? YES! They are durable and well made.

I’ve been using Protalus insoles since they started in business and they were the best insoles I had ever tried and I had previously tried plenty of them with no success in treating plantar fasciitis.

Only Protalus insoles worked for me. Their M 100 elites are the most advanced version but it is quite thick and doesn’t always fit well in the shoes I wear (after removing the manufacturer’s insoles first).

The T 100 Elite is a bit thinner and fits better in most of my shoes. So I will be buying the T’s more than the M’s.

Still forming an opinion. They actually feel like they might be slightly off on the fit? It is possible I may have moved around too much while measuring my feet. They do make my feet feel different- enough so that I removed them from my shoes just to see the difference- it hurts my feet not to wear them.

So- I put them back in my shoe. I will re-measure next time I find a place to do so. When I do- if I get a different measurement- I’ll try a new pair. If I get the same measurement – perhaps I’ll switch shoes for a while.

They do make enough difference that I want to investigate more to see if i can find the perfect fit.

The Dr. Scholls 310 Orthotics are even better than Id expected them to be and provide significantly diminished foot discomfort when I get in my 35 minute daily walk. Even my podiatrist agreed Id made a good choice when she closely examined what kind of support I was wearing in my sneakers.

My sister is also using Dr. Scholls orthotics (but a different number than mine) and ALSO finding relief. We both agree: Arthritic feet are no fun! Do whatever you can to minimize the discomfort and stay active! Buy a pair of Dr.

Scholls Orhotics! Highly recommend.

About a decade ago, I developed significant pain in my feet. I went to a foot Dr. who diagnosed fallen arches. He did not suggest anything to fix it, just to make sure I had supportive shoes. No help.

I’ve been using special insoles from different companies in most of my shoes in order to get the right support for my high arched feet. So, I was very happy to receive Cascadia high arch cork insoles from Tread&Butter.

These insoles are well built with sturdy base made out of natural cork, soft layer of special cushioning, and thin silver covered top to keep odor under control. I used them in my everyday shoes for walking dogs and in my hiking boots for day trips.

It was a bit hard to fit it in due to lack of half sizes, so I made little trimming. Walking with Cascadia insoles felt little stiff only in the beginning but not as bad as with my other plastic ones.

Insoles provide great support for my high arches with enough cushioning. It didn’t feel hot, even though it’s summer time. Also, I didn’t notice any bad odor after many hours of walking. I haven’t used cork insoles in the past, so I hope they keep my feet happy longer than my other insoles.

These insoles will make your ride more confortable compare to the regular ones that comes with the Sidi shoes (even on new top of the line) as they really absorb a lot of the vibration you get from bad roads.

Because they are a little bit thicker, it resolves my problem of having ,shoes a bit to loose, maybe by a 1/3 of a point.

The Sidi memory foam insoles work great. Note they will fill out the shoe volume nicely and provide stable support. The original insoles supplied by Sidi are too thin and provide zero support.

Very comfortable! Are thicker than the original insoles so can be an issue if the shoes are tight-fitting.

I bought these after a gait analysis when buying running shoes. My left foot is neutral but my right pronates slightly inwards. A video taken with these inside the trainers showed a corrected gait. These insoles were £45 in the running shop so I was delighted to find them at £30.

Still expensive but very supportive and good quality. Extremely comfortable in my trainers. I should mention that I am not a runner but have had 10 surgeries to my feet for neuromas and avascular necrosis to the metatarsal bones.

Buying supportive shoes is essential for me and these insoles are the icing on the cake.

I know this is geared towards people who run but I have flat feet and these are comfortable to wear after a full day of work (constant standing or walking). I’m sure it would be comfortable to run in as well if I can stand/walk in them all day.

It really does prevent me from having aching feet. I’d recommend these Superfeet insoles!.

I’ve always suffered with shin splints. I’ve just accepted it as part of my running. The insoles that come with running shoes are generally thin and offer little support. Strangely, I’ve used Superfeet Greens in my hiking boots for several years, but for some reason, never thought to check if Superfeet did a running insole.

As soon as I saw the RUN Comfort, I had to try them. Within one week of use, my shin pain has almost vanished, my feet actually feel lighter when running, and it feels like I’m running with more spring.

Absolutely amazing insoles, and I can’t recommend them enough. So good in fact, that as I my Greens needed replacing in my hiking boots, I replaced them with the Trailblazer (similar to the Run but designed specifically for hiking).

Viva la Superfeet!.

Most cycle shoes, even high end, come with next to nothing footbeds with zero arch support. In part because everyone is different, but I suspect it is so that the shoes feel comfy when trying on in the shop.

Most after market footbeds are stupidly priced. These are bearable. They are a substantial upgrade on most standard ones. Nice extra padding under the ball of the foot without using up much extra volume, although they do steal some space right st the back of the heel cup which alters retention.

All the science says the weird biomechanics of stiff cycle shoes is helped by arch support. Spec do three sizes, yiu should be able to find one which is mildly but not uncomfortably obstructive standing or cycling.

I tested mine out, and it felt weird at first, and though not using a power meter I did feel a little stronger, going up known hills one gear higher with no extra effort. Also, when standing, it felt like the whole foot was involved.

Well worth an experiment. Check out Steve Hogg’s writing around arch support, which is backed up by science and similar views exist elsewhere. It got a 4 because it’s a piece of glorified foam. £10 Aldi trainers come with insoles that aren’t a fat lot different in unit cost at manufacture.

Same principle with most bike kit.

I have been experiencing some foot pain and numbness in my toes recently while on the indoor trainer even for short rides of less than an hour. I assumed my feet had gotten larger over the years but when I checked the fit, it was fine – plenty of room in the toe box.

I read various things about these inserts resolving issues of this sort. I admit I was not optimistic; it seemed unintuitive that arch support would have anything to do with numbness in my toes. The shoes I wear had come with one of these as the original insert, but it was about 10 years old and was the red one (no support).

I have a low arch – probably not completely flat but heading in that direction. I got the middle insert – Blue – for flat to standard arches. That seems to have been the right choice. I was really surprised to see it solved about 80% of the problem.

Numbness gone, pain almost completely gone. Definitely worth giving these a try.

I’ve ridden in S-works road and tri shoes for more than a decade. When it came time for new shoes this year seems literally nothing was available from Specialized. I ended up with 2 pair of $300+ Giros.

My feet were taking a beating and going numb on even short rides (under an hr. ). I had given away my S works shoes as they were just a tiny bit too tight now, but still very usable. I thought about keeping the insoles and but that would be a bummer for the new owners.

I stopped by the LBS, they only had the “Greens”. Trimmed them a bit and did 50 miles in the new shoes and new insoles the next day. Expecting really sore and cold feet by the time I was done. My feet didn’t go numb, they stayed warm and best of all my feet weren’t sore that night.

or the next day. These insoles are game changers for me. They are in both pairs of Giros now and I have spares to try in my skimo boots and running shoes.
