20 Best Carbon Steel Griddle (2022 Updated)

I bought this griddle to use with the bridgeable elements on my induction cooktop. It “works” fine. it heats fine. but I think because it’s relatively thin gauge it doesn’t heat as completely as my old skillet.

It’s okay, you just have to move food (like bacon) around more often.

A good cast iron pan is a must have addition to any cooking arsenal. The Lodge LPGI3 Reversible Griddle fits the bill perfectly. It’s currently nestled on top of my two gas burners on my stove (see photo).

My burners measure 17. 5 inches across and the 20 inch griddle fits nicely on them. It has become my go to piece of cookware. It is large enough to sear several steaks at a time, giving them a beautiful flavorful crust.

Eggs, pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, bacon, stir fry, salmon, literally everything I have thrown at it has been cooked faster and with more flavor than a normal pan.

Super unhappy with this purchase. I was so excited to get it yesterday. I made morning pancakes for my kids and on low temp it started smoking heavily! I cook a lot and have never had a pan smoke like this.

Then when I washed it, it was stained. I don’t understand how this could have happened on low heat?! I just wanted a griddle to make pancakes quicker, going back to my single serve pan. If I can return this, please let me know.

I’ve enjoyed using the product so far. It’s slightly too large for my 4-burner grill, with handles in the correct position, but I installed them facing inward and it’s been fine. I don’t lose much surface area doing this.

As a cook surface it’s been good. I’ve made pancakes, stir fry, smash burgers, off-the-cob corn, and chicken. I used it for the chicken to cook the corn at the same time and would otherwise just use my grill.

The chicken still turned out fine. The pancakes and stir fry are where it really worked great. I was able to make a double-batch of pancakes in mere minutes, with no sticking or burning. It would have taken me forever on a stove top, and they wouldn’t have been cooked as uniform or to the right color.

I’m nervous to get it REALLY hot, because I saw another comment response that it’s coated in Teflon, which has issues with gassing off when you get it too hot. But I’ve used metal utensils on it with no scratching issues and it’s easy to clean as I would expect carbon steel to be.

It’s not LIGHT, but not overly heavy either. So far I’ve really enjoyed the product.

It warped in the center and broke the welds.

I searched high and low for an Induction compatible griddle for making French toast. This is it. The round short sided plan is smooth and fits the largest burner perfectly. You can make 4 or 5 pieces at a time depending on the size of the bread.

I used butter to turn it golden brown.

I bought this pan for use on my induction stove, and it does perform well with the source of energy. Wanted a non-stick that was safe (this Zwilling Spirit is), and could serve my intended purpose: to use as a griddle for pancakes, French toast.

I do not use it for savory foods. I did not like how my pancakes cooked directly on the surface, so I lightly spray with cooking spray (canola, not one with flour). And I mean LIGHTLY, on cooking area only, not the entire pan.

Tried brushing canola oil but did not like that. Anyway, I heat the pan on my GE Profile induction cooktop on a level of no more than 3. 5 and I get great pancakes/French toast. I find that lightly rubbing the cook area with a cold stick of butter (or Earth Balance) works well and gives the French toast especially a great crispiness and flavor.

Clean up? Let it cool completely, then wipe with paper towel. I use Bar Keeper’s Friend with the paper towel to GENTLY rub off whatever may be on the surface. BKF can also be used on the exterior. Rinse and dry and pan looks great.

Have had it for just over 2 yrs and it still looks like new. So while I can’t address the issue other users have had with “losing the non-stick”, I can attest that it is an excellent pan as long as you use prudence with the intensity of heat (don’t use high heat) and how you treat the surface.

I also do not use metal pancake spatulas, so surface has no scrathes/nicks. Yes, I do recommend this product. I do not give 5 stars since thoughtful care is required to keep pan performing and looking as I expect/want.

This pan is great in most respects, but the handle is just awful. There are two versions of this pan, one has “Spirit” in the title, and the other has “Energy” in the title. The handle on the Energy version is far superior.

The price is identical, and everything else about the pans is identical. It works perfectly on my induction cooktop. Just be forewarned, this nonstick is NOT really nonstick unless you use a little oil or butter in the pan first.

Once you use even a little oil, it remains nonstick for the rest of your frying. And be careful not to use any metal utinsels, as it can scratch easily with them.

I purchased this griddle because it is stainless steel and the price was great. I have used it several times on different meats and food and I love using it. The griddle is heavy duty and we’ll made.

Easy to use and clean. You can use it on a gas or charcoal grill,even on a fire pit for hot dogs. I highly recommend this griddle it is versatile and well worth the money. Would make great gifts. Rolando Lig.

Huge amount of cooking space. Great for people who do not want to buy the Blackstone. You really need more than one burner, But with my ten inch banjo burner, the center of griddle does the cooking and the sides keep food warm.

Weighs twenty five pounds, not forty pounds. I will probably get another burner next year to have two heat ranges. I am happy with this purchase.

Im a perfectionist. This thing is under rated. 1/8 SS it does not warp under high heat, its heavy. Its huge. Thats what we want. It has a drain up front folks. The drip edge? Come on. I got a quote from a job shop for the same thing.

$545. Ok i have to say something negative. The handles really do suck. Need verticle spring handles. But buy those seperate have someone weld them on and boom you dont need that blackstone anymore. This is for sure the way to go for you all diy people wondering about it.

I was skeptical about spending so much on this, since I’ve used cheaper double burner griddles before (which always gunk up over time with oil or fat and are a pain to clean). Not this one! The surface spreads heat perfectly and is a breeze to clean.

I’ve done pancakes to perfection on this bad boy, too! Absolutely love it.

I wanted to replace my non-stick griddle with something that was healthier and long-lasting. It is difficult to learn to cook eggs with this. I have finally settled on not cleaning with soap, but kosher salt and water.

It needs a good layer of oil. I have a discrepancy with its use description: “Smooth enameled base is compatible with all cooktops, including induction; not recommended for glass stovetops. ” ALL induction cooktops are GLASS! These comments directly conflict with each other.

The enameled bottom is smooth, but if there is something under the surface and you drag it, it could scratch the cooktop. Overall, I’m getting used to it and am happy with it.

Watch out for the measurements! They are handle to handle, not bottom of the griddle. It is too small for the burners on my stove. Watch out for the returns policy, 60 days and unused. This was purchased as a gift for me and by the time I had been given it the time had elapsed.

Watch out for the pebbly surface. I thought since it was cast iron it would have a smooth interior like my beloved skillets, but it is rough and things STICK like crazy to it. I’m very disappointed in its performance.

The reviews I read prior to suggesting it be purchased for my birthday seemed to indicate it was just right for me. Such a sad birthday!.

This is a serious piece of iron! It’s big enough to cover both burners so it gets plenty of heat to cook with. It has plenty of area to cook bacon, burgers, or anything you choose. It has a nice deep drip edge so no grease gets away! My wife has wanted one for a while and when this became available I got it for us and very glad we did!! It was preseasoned, but my wife gave it a second seasoning session to make sure it was good to go! And, as always, Lehman’s shipped it quickly and very well packaged to protect it from damage!.

This is the first time I am using a cast iron grill on stove burners. I found it to be quite interesting. I have a gas stove. The grill is large enough to reside over two burners. When it comes to heating, I find that it doesn’t get heated evenly, which is to be expected.

The result was that I needed to constantly switch spots so my food can all get cooked at the same time. This does create some additional exercise for me. I do like the draining grove on the flat side, so my food is not bathed in grease.

Overall, I like the grill for occasional use, but it would be a bit tedious to use daily due to uneven heating.

Before you buy any cast iron cookware be aware of the work it takes to keep it pristine and always ready for use. I like to use my cast iron cookware on my grill. That is why I bought this griddle. When it heats up, it holds it heat, and gives a great sear.

I love cooking burgers fast locking in the juices and giving crispy edges. As in smash burgers. I also love to blacken salmon on this griddle. It also turns out crispy and juicy. I like keeping the fish smells outside.

The uses are endless. But it does require work to keep it clean and seasoned. Read the instructions and you will be satisfied with your cooking results.

Does exactly what we need. gives us room on the same griddle to cook multiple things. Heats evenly. Easy to clean, even though I’m mildly bummed it’s not dishwasher safe. But no biggie. Light weight.

I have a big gas 3 burner camp stove which I use for canning. Needed a griddle so I looked at this accessory and decided to buy it after reading many happy customers review. Unfortunately when I received mine and put it on the camp stove it was not sitting properly.

I remove the shelf on the stove thinking it was the problem, no it was not. I decided to lay it on my kitchen counter to see if it lay flat. It had about an inch and a half lift from the ground on one side.

It came to me warp. I went online to see if this was an issue. Apparently some people experience the same problem. Continuing my search, I discover that the blackstone brand has the same issue, at least they say it can happen during the manufacturing process, and as you use it overtime (10) the warp should go away.

I could not find anything for my camp chef griddle that will explain the warping. Looking at the product you ca visually see it is raised in the middle, which cause the unevenness at the side. It cooked ok but he warping cause it to tilt when cooking.

I just wrapped up a 5 day camping trip and used my new flat top griddle multiple times every single day. I absolutely LOVE it. It was a total game changer. A few tips that are probably pretty obvious: even though it’s seasoned plan on using oil or butter; also it gets super hot so turn it down to low or low/medium; lastly, I recommend having this in addition to a smaller stove that you can boil on.

I used the Everest and the Explorer together with the full burner. It was perfect and kept me from needing to remove the griddle any time I wanted to boil water or heat up food that doesn’t need a flat surface.

You should also plan on it being really dirty when you take it off the stove so don’t wear your favorite jacket or shirt. Other than that, it is amazing and I’m so glad I made the investment. Totally changed our food experience.

Great Stove! Twice as much power as the comparable Blackstone. I use this almost every day. I often use the full 2 burner griddle attachment, but also use my cast iron skillets. I love this to cook at high heat and not smoke up my house.

My favorite is using it for smash burgers, hashbrowns, and charing Brussel sprouts. It packs up fast and easy when I take it to the beach house on the weekends. The carrying case is a nice addition if you plan to move it a lot but is definitely not necessary is you don’t want to buy it.

Also, in terms of customer service responsiveness, friendliness, overall satisfaction, and product quality. Camp Chef experience was 10,000x better than Blackstone experience. I’m 100% Camp Chef.

Recommended by the store owner where I bought my new gas range. He said the lodge griddle was superior to that made by the stove manufacturer due to it’s raised edges. No pancake batter or drippings running off of this griddle! Heavy duty, sturdy and perfect size to cover 2 burners.

Lodge seasoned griddle is perfect for home use! There are so many things you can make! It has sturdy handles for easy to use grabbing. It comes preseasons and ready for use! Love to make sweet potato fries with it!.

I debated on whether to purchase the X-24 fire pit with sear plate rim or purchase the standard-rim fire pit with the SearPlate Griddle accessory. I ultimately went with the separate griddle because of the generous cooking area.

I also didn’t like the look of all that food mess around the rim of the fire pits with the built-in sear plates. I’m very happy with my decision and I haven’t looked back. A couple days after setting up the fire pit, I used the Searplate Griddle to successfully cook some sirloin steaks.

I burned some Mesquite wood down to a nice bed of coals before putting the griddle on. It took a little over 1-1/2 hours to create a good bed of coals. When using the griddle be ready to push the coals around to achieve an even heating on the griddle.

I also discovered that you don’t get a hardy smoky flavor to the meat when using the griddle, so depending on your taste that may be good or bad. Either way, there were no burned steaks as one might get over an open flame.

The fun part was that I made everyone cook their own steaks to their liking. When the griddle cooled down, I just scraped the food residue off and oiled it down with cooking oil. For now, I just stuck the griddle back in the shipping box for storage, but I’ll eventually come up with something better.

I think Breeo needs to take note and make a storage bag similar to the one that comes with their Outpost Grill set. The SearPlat Griddle is thick plate steel and well-constructed. I’d recommend the griddle to anyone looking for a quality product that works as advertised.

I enjoy using the searplate when we cook, but it does leave a much smaller access hole to the fire. adding logs is perfectly doable, you just cant move things around as much. that shouldn’t be a big deal, though, since you are supposed to only add the searplate griddle after the fire has burned down.

So you shouldn’t be adding logs, often, anyway. I didn’t give much thought to the fact that the searplate is NOT weatherproof. You must remove it and clean it after each use. I left mine outside to cool down on a clear, dry night.

In the morning there was surface rust to clean up. I hadn’t even considered that it might not be weather proof – so now I have to figure out where to store this thing when its not in use, and where it isn’t exposed to moisture.

I’m not sure if my shed is dry enough to keep it rust free. That’s annoying, and had I realized I’d have to bring it in my house to store it after every use (with a coat of oil and possibly sut), I would not have purchased it.

at least, not without a garage or some clever idea for outdoor, rust free storage. I even contemplated buying Breeo’s table, as it has an area for the searplate, but its not covered or weather proof – so its not storage so much as it is a place for it to cool down during an active bonfire.

The rust and storage issues make me a lot less excited about the searplate, and in hindsight I probably would not have purchased it w/o having a place to store it.

One of the main reasons why I own the X24, X30 and all necessary accessories is because they are all made in the USA and the exceptional quality. My new X30 searPlate is no exception, the quality is amazing.

I have now owned the SearPlate for a little over a month and have used it at least 3 times. Used it for Vegetables, seafood, burgers and steaks, and all I have to say is WOW. So, easy to use, cook and clean.

The one thing that I’ve learned after my first time using it, was to not make a fire throughout the whole firepit, because the SearPlate gets hot all over. What I started doing is to just burn some wood on only one side of the fire pit, this way the SearPlate gets hot only on one side and you can move your vegetables, burgers etc from hot to medium hot depending on your preference.

We absolutely love the SearPlate because we get the best of both worlds, I can now take advantage of all 30″ of the firepit to enjoy the heat during the colder months of the year and if I want to use it to cook/grill on, I use the SearPlate that is now so easily removable.

I have been using Masienda’s wonderful masa and pressing tortillas their perfect Dona Rosa tortilla press for many months now. I would make the most beautiful puffed tortillas on my tiny cast-iron skillet, but I could only make one at a time.

Since I love Masienda so much and wanted more space to cook more than one tortilla at a time I bought this product in spite of it being somewhat expensive for a comal. It couldn’t be more of a disappointment for me! The heat distribution is absolutely terrible, with the middle spot getting extremely hot and leaving basically only space for one tortilla to cook evenly.

If you put four in it like the picture shows, just the edges of the tortillas will get burnt and the rest won’t cook so much. It’s also super sticky in spite of it being seasoned many times now. The tortillas it makes are tough and stiff, almost like tostadas but stale.

It’s miserable eating them ! I feel like I should just go back to my trusty cast iron but I feel like such an idiot spending upwards of $100 on this. Such a bummer.

Love this carbon steel comal. It’s fantastic!. Be sure to follow instructions for curing. A well cured utensil helps cook your food more evenly and preserves the item for a lifetime of use. I’ve received the book on MASA.

Once I read through it I plan to order some masa from Masienda and begin experimenting. I’ve also ordered several pounds of coffee and love it as do our guests.

I love the idea of this and the flexibility over the built in sear plate, but did not realize how big and heavy this thing is. We have the x30 model. It will definitely take 2 people to carry this thing on and off which makes it less prone to frequent use.

I can see using this if we want to cook pancakes, etc. but if it’s a few burgers we will end up using the outpost more than likely. I can see the positives of this over the sear plate as we had a X24 originally with the sear plate built in and the hole was constricted when trying to put in wood and it did also restrict the heat output when trying to use just as a firepit.

The built in sear plate also got extremely hot and we had a hard time controlling the heat, where this is more adaptable. It also can accommodate runny items such as eggs that you would never be able to put on the slanted sear plate.

Just be prepared to lift some weights and have ample storage room for this unit.

What I like: Easy to add/remove, factory seasoning burned off, but it re-seasoned very quickly by just cooking fatty foods (e. g. bacon) and has been holding a nice stick free status. Bigger/flatter/thicker than the attached searplate; so food doesn’t slide/roll into the fire which was my biggest issue with the searplate on a previous pit.

What don’t I like? You have to love to manage the fire/coals if you want to do any prolonged cooking at lower temps (~350F) on this. Think a double batch of pancakes. Plan to have an infrared thermometer and lots of wood chunks.

For meat that you just want to sear the crap out of it’s less of an issue. Still exploring it’s usefulness, next up will be mini pizzas. Don’t regret the purchase.

El sabor de los alimentos es perfecto y su limpieza es mucho más fácil que cualquier otra plancha que hemos tenido hasta ahora. Si se sigue el curado como en el video aunque se ponga un poco negra, no pasa nada.

Esto se limpia con el estropajo o la nana. Es hierro, así que no se va a dañar. Va cojiendo poco a poco un color más oscuro que es de lo más normal. Después de limpiarla yo le paso un papel con un poco de aceite por encima y queda espectacular.

Celle ci au bout d’un mois est ratée. Les 2 1ères fois des ronds violets sont apparus, comme si elle avait pris des chocs thermiques. Cela ne s’arrange pas du tout avec le temps. Elle accroche et elle est légèrement gondolée, donc dès que vous la touchez sur la plaque elle se met à tournoyer!!!.

En cuanto al tamaño, es grandecita, pero no excesivamente, perfecta para 4 personas, puedes hacer dos gallos o lenguados al mismo tiempo. De momento la hemos usado 4 ó 5 veces, para pescado, hamburguesas, filetes y verduras, el pescado todavía se pega un poco pero espero que con el tiempo eso se solucione.

Con respecto al proceso de curado, seguí las instrucciones del video de Claudia&Julia, utilicé aceite de girasol y la dejé algo más de 5 minutos humeando. Ya después del curado la plancha se quedó con manchas marrones alrededor (pero supuse que era normal), y ya tenía mi plancha lista para cocinar.

A medida que la he ido utilizando se ha ido poniendo cada día más fea, tengo manchas negras, marrones, grises y todavía trozos de plancha con el color original, me dan ganas de meterle el nanas y liarme a sacarle brillo, suponía que se iba a oscurecer de una forma mucho más homogénea, pero en mi caso, la mía da la sensación de tener guarrería.

En resumen, por un lado estoy contenta porque es una cocina mucho más sana, pero por otro me da rabia que una pieza tan bonita se ponga tan fea y eso me hace replantearme si volver a comprar sartenes de De Buyer.

Quizá es por el proceso de curado, que debe ser toda una ciencia. Por cierto, el servicio de la tienda fenomenal, muy rápido. Seguro que volveré a comprar.

The De Buyer Carbone Plus line of carbon steel cookware is outstanding!!! The construction is solid, 2. 5 mm carbon steel really preformed as well after the first seasoning as most do after much more use.

I recomend this product to anyone wanting professional cookware.

Good pan,does everything you need with ease.Seasoning prior using it is a must BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO IT PROPERLY.The best oil to use is linseed oil.(flaxseed oil)

It is just perfect !

I’m happy with the weight and size of the griddle. There is lots of space to cook on. It does take up most of the grill, so it’s not something you can put on the side and still cook on the grates. It took me much longer than expected to season the griddle, like 6+ hours of adding grapeseed oil every 30 minutes, but now that it is seasoned, it works great.

I thought I would be able to use the griddle to sear steaks instead of using grill grates, but it does not work well for searing. My grill isn’t completely level, so grease from whatever I’m cooking rolls to the right.

This can catch on fire at high temps, so watch that. Overall, I think it is a good griddle, and I look forward to making breakfast on it for years to come.

This is a great piece but there are 2 things that need mentioned. First, not a negative but an FYI, this is large and heavy! I would recommend this for large group cooking. My wife and I are empty nesters, hindsight tells me I should own the smaller version for our daily use.

but certainly want this in the arsenal. One negative. there is a pour spout in the middle of one side, but don’t expect to use that easily. Combined with the size, weight and relative small spout, the pour spout does not work.

Grease tends to spill over the whole side edge. It would have worked better if it was in a corner.

Took a long time to season this griddle, but once done it works pretty good. We made awesome smash butter burgers and French toast on this thing. The only reason I didn’t rate this griddle higher is that it a little difficult to drain the grease off of it.

Maybe if the funnel was located in a corner instead of on the side it would be easier. The other thing I noticed is that this griddle fills the grate front to back on the 1250 and with the addition of the drip bar on the lid it will not quite close all the way.

Probably more of an inconvenience than anything else. All in all I do love this griddle for use with the 1250 grill.

I’ll start by saying that I love my cast iron pan. I use it for everything but cleaning it is a big fat pain in the you know what. This Cast Textured non stick pan has been a game changer! I’ve been cooking everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in it.

No oil or spray is needed – nothing sticks and clean up is a breeze. Everything comes out perfect- meats, vegetables, eggs, you name it. You can also put it in the oven – which I have done – so browning that roast and then popping it in leads to a perfectly cooked piece of meat with simple clean-up.

It’s dishwasher safe too!! I highly recommend this product.

This grill pan is very durable and an essential piece of cookware in my kitchen. The grill pan sears steaks, chicken, and chops wonderfully. I also use it to cook some vegetables! Some of the greatest features of this grill pan are the facts that it is light weight but does the job of a cast iron pan, non-sticking, and very durable.

Cleaning this pan after use was incredible. There wasn’t a need to soak or scrub the pan after use it was able to be cleaned easily! I definitely will continue to use this grill pan.

This is a great little pan!! Absolutely nothing sticks to it. I also appreciate the fact that when I cook burgers the grease runs underneath the little grids. Nothing worse than a burger absolutely coated in congealed grease.

So far I have cooked burgers and steak in this pan. They both worked out absolutely fabulously. It washes up very easily. The heat seems to be consistent throughout the whole pan. Everything cooks very evenly.

I purchased this to make Smashburgers on my bbq. I was very impressed with the quality craftsmanship. This is easy to clean stainless steel. The corners are smooth. I found it to be a great for stir fry and hibachi style foods.

I am trying to rate it, but nothing happens. It should be 5 star. It is perfect for the BBQ. All BBQ_ should have this unit as standard. With this, you can collect juice from the rotisserie and fry garlic prawns, steaks, bacon and eggs, Salmon etc.

This is a must have.

I use the Plancha flat top almost every time I cookout. I have two 22 in. Webers and one is dedicated to it the plancha now. I use it for everything, burgers, fish, shrimp, scallops, vegetables, bacon, pancakes and searing steaks.

I recommend anyone with a 22 in. grill buy one of these to compliment their regular grill grates. The rest of the SnS grill system works great too. Sure as some have complained it is heavy, But that’s what makes it work.

Some one complained that it was hard to add charcoal to cook longer cooks. I have found that less charcoal works well, generally about a half full chimney works for anything I cook on it. If you are needing to add charcoal you are missing the point and misunderstanding the purpose of this flat top.

It absolutely works great! Needless to say I like it!.

Received it within about 6 days free shipping so no complaints. Was packed decent enough. It’s a big *** plate of steel so it’s not like it would be damaged by anything lol. Seasoned it up and cooked smashed bacon cheese burgers on it.

Came out fantastic. Doesn’t need much charcoal to get hot. Probably used about half a chimney worth. Then I cooked some cheesesteak sandwiches which also came out delicious. Easy maintenance and easy clean up.

I got this for my birthday a few weeks back, and , so far, have made up Philly cheese steaks and smashburgers a couple of times. This is *SO* much nicer than the best grill options I’ve used for these before.

First off is the sheer amount of real estate. Most of the surface of a 22″ kettle is available for cooking. The two handle cutouts are absolutely needed to lift this beast in and out of the kettle, as well as for airflow.

At 1/4 inch thick, this 23 lb carbon steel monster does a fantastic job of holding and transmitting heat. Used with two zones, I can put a hard sear on smashburgers on one side, while simmering onions and peppers on the cooler side, and toasting buns in the middle.

Seasoned according to the instructions, it’s nonstick and smooth as glass. Great job, SNS!.

I have owned this griddle for a few weeks now, long enough to give a good analysis. Like a good cast iron pan, this griddle requires care and seasoning. It is steel so if not cared for, it can rust. That said it is a very thick, well constructed plate of steel.

When I ordered it, I also ordered what I needed to season it. From a major online retailer I purchased Crispbee Stick. This product works extremely well for seasoning when applied following the instructions.

I seasoned it twice before use. With seasoning applied I started using this daily to get a feel for how well it works. Each time I use it I preheat in my 2022 Weber Genesis EX-335 for 20 minutes with all burners on low (not using the searing burner).

I really like the large surface. I can cook an entire 1lb package of bacon with none overlapping. I can cook four large (over 8″) pancakes at once. I can grill nine 3 oz smash burgers at the same time with room around each one.

While cooking the smash burgers I simultaneously grilled two packages of hot dogs on the remaining grill area of my EX-335, an toasted buns on the top rack. I heard bacon corn was a thing to do on the griddle so I grilled a pound of chopped bacon at a low temp to render out the fat, then increased temp to high and threw on 3 pounds of frozen corn.

I quickly realized the over half in tall sidewalls could contain the corn, but the oil drain hole was losing corn. A folded piece of aluminum foil solved that issue. 3 pounds of bacon corn was plenty as a side for hosting 20 people.

I would say this griddle is a perfect compliment to your grilling station. Don’t wash this grill with soap and water. Seriously treat it like cast iron. Get yourself a heavy spatuIa for making smash burgers.

I purchased from a major online retailer the “Mercer Culinary Hell’s Handle heavy duty turner/spatula” that is 6″x5″. Its perfect for smash burgers, cutting meat smaller when making fajita’s with its almost sharp edges, pancakes, and pretty much anything that doesn’t require tongs.

Its it great for cleanup too. When done cooking, before the griddle cools down, use the sharp edge to scrape food residue off the griddle. Next grab a couple wet paper towels and wipe it down to steam clean it.

I have added Crispbee Cream to my collection of maintenance items. I squirt it around on the griddle then wipe it with a paper towel to give it a nice thin coating to preserve the finish. If you are storing the griddle after use, don’t let it cool completely.

While still warm, but not so hot you will get burned, lift it out of the Crafted rack, and wipe the outside edges and bottom with a dry paper towel to remove any grease. If necessary use the flimsy plastic scraper that came with your Genesis to scrape off any heavy grease or food gunk.

Just don’t get the outside wet, it will rust. Now you can place it in the grill garage and worry less about grease/oil getting all over everything. I always place it in the same spot with cardboard up against it.

The cardboard can absorb anything I missed with the paper towel and keeps it from contaminating pizza stone, cutting board, or whatever else is stored next to it. If storing long term dont use card board next to it since it can hold moisture.

If you dont expect to use it within the next couple weeks, use plastic instead. Happy griddling!.
