I got this to help increase my daily carbs but wanted to go with something complex with a little fiber. This stuff fit the bill nicely. 1 scope is the same as a full serving of oatmeal but I don’t have to take the time to cook it.

That being said, remember it will expand after about 10 to 15 minutes in your stomach and make you feel like a seagull who ate an alkaseltzer tablet so I’d recommend only one scoop at a time in a shake.

It will also turn your shake into something you need to eat with a spoon if it sets too long. The flavor is slightly nutty and it will add a slight grittiness to your shake but nothing really bad. Overall, the convenience and nutritional benefits of it out weight anything else.

Could you just ground up a cup of oats yourself? Yes, but you can’t just blend dry oats or the “fumes” will inhibit your breathing and leave a mess everywhere. And if you try to add water to combat the fumes, add too much water and you have ruined the batch.

This whole oat powder has made my protein shakes in the morning more like a complete meal. The quality of the powder is top notch and mixes very well. It gives the shake a thicker, more fulfilling consistency.

It tastes great too. I make my daily shakes with the muscle feast chocolate whey, this oat powder, some powdered peanut butter and whole milk. 10/10.

Came across this fuel while researching options for adventure racing. Decided to give it a try. Now on my 3rd tub of it. The unflavored is truly devoid of flavor. I added some lemonade mix to give a hint of tart and sweet and that made it quite palatable.

No stomach issues. The only downsides of Vitargo (and they are manageable) are 1) viscosity and 2) solubility. I like to mike my fuels into a highly concentrated form, and then have water separately.

I use 32 ounce bottles with squeeze valves for fuel. I can get 4 scoops of Vitargo to dissolve in that size bottle and still be able to get it through the valve. I load it with a blender ball and give it a very vigorous shaking, and then continue to shake it from time to time.

The powder is fine and the best place to put your bottle when mixing at home is in the sink to facilitate cleaning. I have also recently tried the orange flavor. At the high concentrations I use it the flavor is too strong.

But I substituted at least one of the scoops with plain and that brings it down to a better level. Vitargo is now one of three fuels I use for long training sessions and races. No stomach issues.

I’ve used multiple pre-workouts in my routine, most of them contain caffeine; they gave me the extra boost that I felt I needed to push me through workouts. I initially used this as a post-workout before my protein, but then I decided to try it before my work out as I was trying to limit my caffeine intake and I was very surprised with how good I felt while taking this; I didn’t have any sort of sourness in my stomach and my energy was great.

Having Vitargo before, and saving some for intra-workout keeps me from that mid workout slump, and I don’t feel that sudden hunger that I occasionally felt in my longer workouts.

I strength train 2 hours per day 5x per week and was struggling with feeling nauseous after workouts, especially late the week. I knew I wasn’t recovering as well as I could and was feeling a little depleted.

I was looking for a fast digesting carb to add to my post-workout shake (I used to use vitargo). Found this – had used Jym products before and was satisfied. First thing I noticed was a faster recovery (reduced DOMS).

I add this to my post-workout shake (2-scoops of Re-Kaged protein-I take it right after a workout before I do cardio) mixing the flavors works (one is fruit punch the other is watermelon). Shake was a little thicker, but not too bad.

Mixed well (very few clumps). I also add a half-scoop to my intra-workout drink (1-scoop Intra-Kaged). Noticed a huge difference right away. I was stronger and had more endurance. If you are not doing this – give it a shot.

As an example, a weight I could get 8reps the week before became 18reps a week later. Also jumped 20lbs on another exercise (same number of reps/1-week later).

This is just sugar. Look at the ingredients. This will spike your insulin levels so freaking fast and will make you shaky. It definitely did for me. What I hate is how Jim says he’s well educated and so experienced in the world of supps but is spoon feeding us complete garbage.

How does no one else notice that? Not only is the dextrose bad for you, it’s artificial. I threw mine out after a few uses and will never ever ever support him or this brand ever again.

It’s funny I just got the email to review this product this morning because last night I was thinking to myself how important this Jym Post is for my gains. If I down this within 30 minutes of my workout I can visibly see the difference.

My muscles don’t shrink due to malnutrition – they stay full and I can tell have gotten what they need from this post. All the pres and posts have fantastic flavors. The Jym protein is really great in any flavor as well.

I used two servings of the Super Carb: Pineapple and Raspberry Lemonade. The Pineapple tasted very good, and it was quite accurate. The Raspberry Lemonade tasted more like a Cotton Candy flavor to me.

The first serving was taken during a workout for which I used a Pre, so I could not really tell if this helped increase my energy. The second serving was taken during a workout for which I took no Pre.

the energy replenishment was felt, it was there, but not the same as a Pre, obviously. As a personal note, I would prefer to use a Pre instead, and a more typical intra, such as the IntraBlast, and save some Calories and Carbs in the process, and also get some real energy/pumps.

When using the Pre, the effects of the Super Carb were unnoticeable. The price is right: $1/serving is great. With free shipping over $49, you cannot go wrong. I enjoyed these two servings very much.

The Carbion powders mixed fairly easily and taste pretty delicious. Although I had some solid workouts while using it, I could not fully assess if it effective or not as intraworkout booster since I only had 3 workouts with it and plus it was my first week back in the gym due to a week off from injury.

However, I will invest in a full size tub and make sure all other variables are the same (diet and workout) to test out and monitor to see its effectiveness. I can report that while using it intraworkout, it helped keep my appetite under control since I would be going over 3 hours without food.

The price point is $29. 99 for 40 scoops and $54. 99 for 84 scoops which is a pretty good price compared to other intraworkouts including carbs. I would certainly recommend for someone to tryout for themselves and definitely will give a full tub a run within the near future.

I had a sample packet of fruit punch before my AM workout today. Normally I don’t use carb supplements because I workout during the day and can get carbs from whole foods prior to training. I used my packet first thing in the morning 30 minutes preworkout, mixed it in 10 oz water.

The fruit punch flavor is very smooth. I enjoyed it. It definitely could mix better. It wasn’t gritty just a lot of left over particles on the side of the shaker. But what really counts is performance and I think it gets an A+ here.

I did a pretty intense 1 hour workout. I felt like I had a good amount of fuel in the tank throughout the workout. I never felt hungry. Energy levels were decent which is saying a lot because I’m on a stim break right now.

Overall I felt like Carbion did a good job of carrying me through my AM workout. If you’re in the market for a carb supplement, I don’t think you can go wrong with Carbion.

The subject of today’s posting will be a product that is very simple in it’s composition as well as its description. Today’s product of choice will be CytoSport’s CytoCarb II. I was looking for a way to add more Carbohydrates into my diet without consuming copious amounts of oatmeal, bread or potatoes so I turned to my favorite website for ordering supplements, bodybuilding.

com, and I went searching for a product high in Carbohydrates. I came across a few different products in my search that were products based off of solely one ingredient, mostly Waxy Maize or Maltodextrin.

I am not a fan of Maltodextrin, but it is a staple ingredient in almost every supplement that contains some sort of Carbohydrate. CytoSport’s CytoCarb II is a product that only has one ingredient, and that is Maltodextrin.

Based off of the reviews on bodybuilding. com, this product has a 9. 5/10 or an Excellent rating. The nutritional label on CytoCarb II is as follows, Serving Size: 4 Scoops (56g), Calories: 210, Total Fat: 0g, Sodium: 45mg, Total Carbohydrates: 52g (2g Sugar), and Protein: 0g.

Now, I am not going to stick with my traditional reviewing style and give a detailed description of Maltodextrin. If you want a detailed description I have previously written an entire post about Maltodextrin and am no longer writing about it.

But what I can tell you is that Maltodextrin is straight Carbohydrates, and that is it. Now for my experiences on CytoCarb II, I have to say that this is a CytoSport product that has been under-advertised and not given the credit it is due.

Other Carbohydrate products such as Genr8’s Vitargo S2 receive much more press time about how great they are, but for the price and the results of CytoCarb II I’d have to argue that this needs to be talked about a bit more.

I took CytoCarb II with my pre-workout supplement, I put it in a protein shake post-workout, I mixed it by itself with just water, juice or even a Gatorade, and it mixes great with all. Once liquid hits this product it disappears and is tasteless and has no added texture into the liquid you add it to.

The only downfall of consuming 52g of Carbohydrates all at once is that you are pretty full for a while after consuming the product, but that is the only negative thing I could even think of. While adding this to my pre-workout supplement I noticed an increase in my stamina and to the pump I got from my workout.

This stuff is fantastic. I purchase them in 2’s because you’ll end up going through the 2lb container pretty quickly. Mixes very well in a shaker bottle, and DOES NOT affect the flavor of whatever your mixing with.

I usually take 1-2 scoops with C4 for my PWO, then a full serving of 4 scoops with my 2 scoops of BSN Syntha-6. I can’t even tell it is there. Great product for adding extra carbs to your diet! I have a pretty difficult time gaining weight and this has helped me so far.

Absolutely great! I love this product. It is unflavored and may not be the best tasting alone but when combined with whey protein; delicious. I use only half a serving with protein powder before workouts (30-60mins prior) and it just gets me pumped and ready.

I say this proudly because there are other carb powder products out there, like Virtago, that cost so much but does not have the same effect on me. Just my opinion though. Hope this helps you with your decision.

I like to take 2 dose daily before the i start my day and after a workout. It has worked for me in a sense I can “workout harder than the last time” some of us are quick responders, some slow and some none.

I am blessed with descent genetics and this creatine gave me an extra amount of volume in my biceps. I have been taking it for 3 weeks. You have to try it to see how your body reacts. Highly recommend it.

This is a great product to use for hardgainers such as myself. I started taking Carbo Gain and Creatine about the same time and saw a definite increase in mass. I take it by itself in water throughout the day but also mix it with my pre-workout aminos, post-workout whey and nightly casein.

However, you need to ensure you are working every muscle group wholly and frequently enough. If not, the extra carbohydrates and water weight will settle in the under-worked areas. Especially in the stubborn abdominal areas.

I know hardgainers don’t like to do cardio (myself included), but to avoid the softness while increasing muscle mass, cardio should become an everyday thing. Also, another note to keep in mind is the possibility of insulin resistance due to insulin spikes when ingesting Maltodextrin.

If you have a genetic history of diabetic family members, keep an eye on your insulin levels.

Extremely affordable and a fantastic maltodextrin source. It blends well with dextrose because it cuts down on the sweet taste associated with dextrose. However, it still has a powerful affect on blood sugar levels.

NOW carbo gain cost less than all waxy maize products I have tried (Flud, Glyco Maize, and John Stott’s Waxy Maize) and gave me better results in recovering from weight lifting, swimming, and biking.

It mixed better and tasted better with my post workout shake than waxy maize. It also does not taste as sweet as dextrose. For best results it blends well with a dextrose and protein blend in a pre or post workout shake to cut down on sweet taste and still keep an intentional ratio of protein to carbs.

I crave it before every workout and its a treat post workout too. WORKOUT: this is amazing! I didn’t used to take carbs intra workout. I had aminos instead. I can say this is WAY better. I have more energy, strength, and stamina.

And then the carbs and creatine ingredients make for an awesome post workout as well. HOW I TAKE IT: The way I like to take it is as a intra workout drink to fuel my workouts and then also as a post workout due to the creatine and carbs.

I used to take a intra workout supplement, a creatine supplement, AND a carb supplement. It cost a lot and it was a pain. Not I just take Carb-Tech and it replaces all three of those for me. You guys did great with this product, it’s now my favorite supp I take.

Ive bought carb-tech not only for myself but also for my father and my mum! My dad never uses supps of anykind but we go ride our MTBs 2/3 hours at the time and my mum the same but she goes spinning 3 times a week! They both told they feel less sore and they can go longer and faster! Ive told them it was just the usual mineral salt ?? but they both said taste better and its way lighter on the tummy zero sides!.

After having a couple weeks worth of workouts with ESP, I decided it was time to drop a review. What originally caught my eye was that it contained AMP citrate, a stimulant I have grown quite fond of in recent times and will be quite sad to see gone.

I, also, am found of the pikatropin it contains. The downside, it’s a prop blend so I have no idea the dose I am getting, which makes me a bit nervous. I haven’t dared take the maximum dose which has a whopping 500 mgs of caffeine due to this fear.

I’m sure I’d be fine, but I have found that the medium dose is more than enough. It does, however, leave me with quite a crash about an hour after my workout as I’m still getting quite a hefty dose of caffeine along with the other undisclosed amounts of stimulants contained in the product.

though, say perhaps you train a couple hours before going to sleep, then this would not be much of an issue but as I train first thing in the morning it does negatively effect my opinion of the product to some degree.

One thing you will not find from this product is any increase in pump. That can be remedied cheaply though with the addition of Citrulline malate so it’s not a major concern, but it would be nice if it were already in it.

Metabolic Nutrition does have a pump dedicated product, and as they hit their mark with this energy product I am interested to give it a try if my wallet ever permits. For those concerned with taste, green apple is amazing and mixing it with citrulline malate only seems to increase the pleasing flavor.

Taste has never been a large concern for me, but if it is for you then green apple shant disappoint. Value wise, it is a great deal Depending on your choice of serving size, you can get over a couple months of workouts in with this.

The smallest serving size has proven effective enough for me and then some, so I am quite happy with that. Overall this is a very pleasing pre workout, even with the lacking pump and crash. I can’t say that it will necessarily become my go-to preworkout but it is definitely one I will be coming back to.

So I finally decided to try my sample packet of Metabolic Nutrition’s ESP preworkout. I’ll give you guys a little review. The flavor I had was Blue Raspberry, and it was definitely on point (it didn’t taste like chemicals surprisingly).

The product mixed well, and I didn’t notice any clumps or any floating particles in my blender bottle. The product kicked in about 15-20 minutes after taking it and from there I had one of the best chest and back workouts of my life.

The energy was insane, but at the same time I didn’t feel anxious or any other ill side effects from the large dose of caffeine. All of the weight on my lifts increased substantially, on average around 5-10 lbs depending on the exercise.

In addition, I also had a slight pump going on in the chest. Another great thing about the product was the focus aspect that it gave me. I felt a great mind-muscle connection and I could feel the contractions during my sets a lot better than normal.

With every great product, there are always cons. One thing I didn’t like was the fact that you had to mix the full serving in 16 ounces of water. This made me kind of full and bloated for the first 30 minutes of the workout.

Additionally, I had a slight crash of energy at the end of the workout, but it wasn’t anything substantial as I have had with other high stimulant preworkouts. Overall I’d give it a 9/10. This product definitely has a time and a place.

If you are looking to push through your workout and have tunnel vision focus, this is for you. But, if you are looking for a pump, vascularity, etc I would use a different product.

This pre workout is legit! It mixes well and quickly. It does not have the ‘settling’ that a lot of other pre-workouts do so you do not have to constantly shake it up. There is no after taste or milky film left in your mouth and it kicks in hard and fast!!! I work out longer and harder with ESP.

Not only that, but it lasts through the longer workouts too. It tastes great and is not overly sweetened either. I would recommend this product to anyone who works out regularly and/or intensely. However, start with the small amount first to assess your tolerance, (it comes with a two serving size scooper).

The larger serving can be really intense and last too long for the average person. I’ve found the small amount is more than enough when I do an 1 hour or more of cardio or lifting. Love this stuff!!.

Ive used Glycolog for about 2 weeks now at my heaviest carb meal. I can honestly say I am disappointed in this product. I watched the reviews of it before I purchased it,and although they were not stellar reviews,I thought i would try it anyway.

Pums and vascularity are non existant and no noticeable size difference in my muscle bellies at all. The only good thing I will give it is that it does seem to help me digest the higher carb meals better in my guts.

It decreases gas and bloat to much lower for heavier carbs. My heavy carb meals may not be as big as some people,but they are big enough. I also am a hardgainer due to substance abuse earlier in life.

I turned myself around and its extremely difficult to put on any muscle and tried everything. and I mean EVERYTHING! Ill continue to take it to finish the bottle,****,i paid for it!!. but I will have to give it only 1 star.

I normally take three with a scoop of formula 19 before my workout and after. It produces high energy through out my workout with a great pump! Anytime I have high carbs like a cheat new with Kodiak waffles “strawberry and chocolate chip” I take three Glycolog! I’ve noticed a significant difference in my performance since using Glycolog and must attest to its benefits especially paired with a carb powder like Formula 19! I’m still new and a hard gainer but have made serious gains using this product stacked with formula 19 and proper diet.

overall my experience was good using this product and actually ordered more of it. it’s primary blood sugar normalizing components are gymnema and bitter melon have been used for ages in traditional medicines, one as a sugar destroyer, and one as a blood sugar normalizer.

consistent use helped get my blood sugar back in check after becoming insulin resistant due to overdoing the keto diet for longer than I should have. chromium also aides in the process. no issues with becoming hypoglycemic while taking the recommended dosage.

This is by far the best protein powder I have used. It mixes thoroughly, no off flavor or gritty texture. Mixes with juice, milk, yogurt and fruit smoothly and takes on the flavor of whatever you mix it with.

Noted some additional sustained stamina. Could have been from focus, motivation or improved tolerance with exercise regimens

I recommend this product to anyone wanting to build muscle. When u take this supplement powder after a strength training workout mixed in my Vegan protein shake also from bulk plus bulk bcaa’s, as a female, I literally wake up the next day drastically different even if it was preceeded by treat/cheat day, I wake up looking slim muscly and lifted.

One must be careful if they are diabetic though because if you test your blood sugar after 2 hours of taking it, there is a significant drop so definitely consult your doctor first and don’t take it too often.

I only use this after my runs, three times per week and always above 50 mins each. I mix it with whey and glutamine and have notice that my recovery especially after 7-8mile run is within minutes instead of hours.

This is an amazing stuff. No cramps or bloating. Really useful after morning run when I have to rush to work and can’t have brk straight away. Also it’s low on glycemic index so does not effect insulin levels.

Apparently within 10minutes it’s absorbed from the small intestines into the muscles, restoring glycogen instantly. Taste is not so good.

1. 5 scoops is perfect for me with milk and protein 97 You can’t taste anything and it thickens up your shake. Bought a massive bag as it goes down quick. If I put too much in it is hard to swallow as it is very gloopy and you start to get a rice paper taste.

Does not mix well with a spoon or rough shake about. 100% mix with a blender and you will have no problems at all No bloating , no cramps , no after taste when taken with milk. People say it’s an expensive option as you use loads but you get what you pay for 😊.

I’ve tried taking this every different way I can think and I have noticed a positive difference. Take before a cheat meal to help control insulin spike. Take before larger carb containing meals to try and not risk depositing fat.

Take with a pre/post workout meal. Either way, this has helped me consume more carbs then I normally would while trying to stay lean so I get the benefit of better pumps and muscle fullness without sacrificing definition.

I’ve only taken this product about 8 times now. I’ve only tried taking it with meals with an extra amount of carbs. What I’ve noticed is that it makes my body absorb those carbs a lot faster than usual.

Usually on those large carb meals I would feel a little bloat and have to wait a little longer than usual for my next meal. But not when I use Freak show. When I use this product after a large carb source my body is calling for food only about an hour after.

That tells me that this product does work, however I myself want to continue using freak show so I can better judge the results.
