20 Best Card Making Supplies (2022 Updated)

This card craft set makes a good gift for my niece. She loves cards and loves to do crafts. Could you buy all of these supplies separately for less and have more? Yes! However there is something to be said for having it all together and ready to go in effect.

Especially if you are giving it as a gift.

Bought this as a gift for my young niece who wanted to be able to make some of her own custom. Made stationary creations for family and friends. She loved it! Item was exactly as described and is a great buy.

This product is so adorable for my young lady (8). The materials are good quality and could make an entire birthday invitation set if wanted. Pairs well with a large set of gel or glitter pens! Perfect for the crafty girl :).

Last year I purchased what were nominally the same cards. About 10% fell apart in the printer. This year, 40-50% fell apart in the best printer I could find. In other printers, nearly every single sheet broke at the perforations.

The sheets are perforated in many places that are superfluous to function, which just creates more places for the cards to break apart in the printer. I must assume that Avery changed paper or method of perforating the sheets.

Regardless, the product didn’t come close to acceptable.

These postcards were exactly what i was looking for! I followed the directions on the package that led me to easy to use templates specifically for the size i purchased. The website was simple and easy.

Printing was also incredibly easy to do- it was advised not to print automatic double sided, but it worked very well for me! Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a simple card stock postcard! and got lots of compl.

These are perfect for recipes which I am organizing. So much easier than my homemade ones that I needed a paper cutter for. I will be getting more to share with my daughter. I struggled a little with getting multiple pages but figured it out.

Sizzix paper is made for diecutting, but you don’t have to own their machines to take advantage of this quality textured card. I’ve run mine through my electronic die cutter and cuts have come out perfect.

There’s a great selection of colours for any project too.

I purchased this lovely paper to make my own cards for Easter and Birthdays as cards are so expensive as well as postage. Made by your own hand means more to your family. It brings enjoyment.

Lovely colours, textured one side plain the other, with a coloured core. Very useful card and there are sizzix videos on how to co-ordinate the colours. Cuts well with scissors or dies.

This is a really great card kit. Lots of options and plenty of materials. If someone was new to cardmaking, this would be all they need to make a full set of cards. For more experienced paper crafters, this kit can be easily expanded using materials you already have.

One of the best things is that the stamps are photopolymer (clear, not red rubber). The set does not come with a stamp block so that would need to be purchased separately if you wanted to use the stamps, but there’s enough ephemera (paper graphics) that the stamps are an option and not a necessity!.

Great kits that all coordinates! The glue is really small and doesn’t hold super well, but my daughter was able to cut the card bases down and put them on white ones and got 19 cards from the kit!

The colors and pattern on the cards is exactly what I wanted. I love all the embellishments included in the kit. It is sparking lots of creative ideas!

This is a fun little kit with a few fun supplies. The envelopes and cards are both made of high quality paper. There are some fun stickers, and you get a lot of sequins and other pieces, but the amount of colorful paper I found to be lacking.

Overall, not a bad kit, but I think you could build something better by picking out items you know you’ll use at a craft store.

My 7yr old crafter absolutely loved this kit. It came with everything she needed to make a card for literally any occassion. Not to mention it came with enough supplies to make many cards. This is a high quality kit for kids and honestly, even adults would enjoy it.

This was such a fun kit for my kids. We really enjoyed every item and had fun decorating cards for loved ones! I couldn’t recommend it more highly and would definitely love to purchase other items from this line.

This kit is a nice gift for someone wanting to get started making cards, beginning level. No experience needed. The box is great for storing the supplies. Cute paper and stickers. However, there is no step by step instruction sheet.

A couple of stamps are included, but no acrylic blocks to attach the stamps to.

Very nice kit! Bought it to compliment my Cricut machine when making homemade cards. But my only suggestion would be to provide just 1 regular size ink pad instead of 2 tiny ones.

It was easy to use and several options for cards. I could make for women or men. Love that the box is designed to store the pieces and can add to it.

It’s the only paper I use when I’m coloring with Copic Sketch markers! The surface is silky smooth, sturdy and the Sketch markers blend like a dream (no little puddles of ink when the tip leaves). I don’t have to change out my brush nibs as often because the premium fibers and manufacturing are not gripping and fraying the brush hairs.

If I want to use other mediums (ex: Prismacolor pencils), the blending card does not buckle under the Gamsol even after multiple layers of color. I try not to waste sheets as card bases but on occasion, X-press does very well as one.

Copic markers are specially designed for color blending and overlapping the same spot to provide color change and unmatched shadowing. Like the pieces of a puzzle, everything must match in order to fall into place.

Many trials and errors to get the right surface to color blend backgrounds, and X-Press IT did it right. Although i only used 7 sheets, the paper quality is great. Allows the alcohol to dry properly without seeping through and the shades come up very quickly so you get almost instant results instead.

For most sketches, it works perfect but make sure to plan ahead if you are doing scenery or using the whole sheet. cause dark colors will overlap and cannot be undone. Overall, great product for the high quality and price.

I have tried just about every paper out there! This is amazing! I find using this weight is heavy and smooth for card stock. I must say, you get a brighter, true saturation with this express blending card.

The paper is extremely smooth so the colors blend beautifully. Dries fast within seconds. I draw and blend with copics, use with stamped images using memento ( again so it dries well). Runs through canon printer even though it is heavy.

Nina cardstock works better for thicker ink and pencil color unless you heat set, only because it has a bit more texture. Overall, well worth the price (this held me back from trying sooner). I should have tried it sooner Highly recommend with copics! Makes a world of difference with my projects.

It’s great that they give pictures of example cards that can be made but also enough cards that you can have creativity to make your own designs. There were also so many pieces in the kit that it is possible to make more than 10 cards if a person uses their own card stock to make the base card.

I’m looking forward to using the extra pieces to make more cards.

Clever kit – lots of embellishments provided to make the cards special, and the kit was fun and quick to pull together. BTW cards do not need to be exclusively “thank you” – you can change it up for other occasions if you add separate sentiments (birthday or Mother’s Day etc.

) The box the kit comes in can be used as storage or for extra cards, which is a nice bonus.

This simple kit helped me get back into card making. I would suggest also getting yourself a glue stick though as it doesn’t come with enough adhesive.

Love to add movement to my cards with these little wrigglers! Loved even more getting them for half the price at Michael’s I’d been paying online!

These springs are great for making fun cards! I use them with my animal stamps for a wobbly head- perfect for kid’s cards!

I love the design of these for card-making, but they don’t wiggle enough. I would still buy them again because there aren’t other options.

I purchased 2 packages of this paper. Before I purchased this paper, I looked at the back to make sure it was the same as the front. Imagine my dismay when I opened the package and discovered the backside was not the same as the front.

It was the color of a brown paper bag. Not even white or cream. They had placed the last sheet foil side up. No place on their packaging did they indicate this paper only had 1 foil side. I feel like this is deceptive advertising.

Since I was intending to use this paper for the invitations to my son’s 25th wedding anniversary invitations this paper was totally unacceptable for this project. I rated this paper 1 because I couldn’t use a minus for their deceptive packaging.

Love the gold foil and matte gold foil. I couldn’t decide so I ordered both. The gold is a lighter color and matte gold a bit brassier. I prefer the weight of the matte gold. It is heavier than the gold so glue marks don’t show when placed on card fronts and in mini albums.

I have patterned cardstock that matches one or the other so I bought both.

I just opened this and almost every sheet has a crackled finish to it. It almost looks like reptile when you tilt it. At first I thought I purchased something incorrectly, then I read the label and no where does it say that it has a crackled texture.

I have purchased other colors of this foil cardstock by Recollections and it doesn’t look like this. 25 sheets for $5. 99 not worth it.

My daughter is living this kit. She’s busy making cards for her friends and her teacher. She lives the variety and quantity of materials included. The only complaint is that the pens that are included smudged on the glossy cards.

As a parent, I love that it comes with its own handled carrying case for easy clean up and storage. I also appreciate the design that the case is fittingly shaped and styled after a mailbox. We have a 5-year old and 2-year old who both love anything craft related, so they were ecstatic to start decorating cards and the box had everything they needed, including 4 gel pens.

The 12 included post cards were more than enough to get them excited and off to expressing their creativity. Overall, this has been a huge hit with the kids.

My kids, both young and older loved loved this Design Your Own Holiday Cards Craft Kit. My sons favorite was decorating the mailbox that everything came packaged in. The kit made a day of crafting so easy and organized, especially with multiple kids.

It had an abundance of supplies, everything you’d would need to make cards and decorate the mailbox. It was all quality materials and well made. We will be buying more kits from this company. We all were super impressed.

I’ve recently purchased some card making bits and pieces, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and so I just bit the bullet and bought some stuff. I am absolutely loving making cards and can’t wait to go back to hobby craft in brighton to get some more bits and some Christmas bits, I may also browse on the hobby craft website.

I bought this as a present for a 6 year old who loves paper crafting. It would suit older children too. A lovely variety of cards to make, and a good introduction to an interesting hobby. She is very pleased with it!.

Bought this for my grand daughter for her birthday. She enjoys crafting and making cards so thought this would be a perfect gift for her. I have purchased many craft boxes from Hobbycraft and have never been disappointed so know this will be perfect for her.

Lovely card, it cut perfectly on my Cricut explore 2. Will definitely order more but be aware their stores don’t sell the mirror card or glitter card it’s only available online. I definitely won’t buy mirror or glitter card from eBay again.

I bought this because from the picture it looks yellow, but its def NOT any shade of yellow its a light gold colour. After saying that it is nice quality card its just really unfortunate its no where near the bright yellow colour the image implies.

I love the idea of crafting with the mini springs. They do not wobble as much as I would like and the backing was somewhat difficult to remove. I would probably try another option if I can find one. However, I will purchase again if I don’t find a better alternative.

Very cute, make your die cuts pop off the page, still go flat for regular mailing. They pop up a little higher than anticipated, but holds the die cut image out nice and straight, not floppy. They stick down easily and hold firm.

So many uses for these! Birthday surprises, butterflies and insects! Adds another level of creativity to a handmade project!
