20 Best Cardigan For Travel (2022 Updated)

I just purchased my 3rd one of these! Yes!! It’s that great! Today alone, it is 26’F with a wind chill in the teens and I wore this out with only a t-shirt underneath. I was very warm and toasty! I love everything about this cardigan.

It’s super soft, very warm yet not super heavy when you’re wearing it. The pockets are great for holding your phone, keys, etc. All around it’s the best! I wear it around the house and out and about.

It’s stylish and the colors are beautiful. If you’re on the fence I say go for it! For reference I purchased the XL/XXL. I’m a 38D and like my sweaters a bit roomy. There is a ton of room in this, I could probably have gone with an XL.

This is the best sweater I’ve ever owned. It’s soft, comfortable, colorfast and doesn’t pill. Most importantly it doesn’t shed! It’s a well constructed sweater. I wear mine around my home. I purchased a larger size than I normally wear because I wanted a loose fitting sweater.

It does have large pockets that I’m thinking wouldn’t be flattering to the hips at any size. I run warm so don’t wear it as long as I’d like. I probably would wear it nonstop if I could.

This is a super soft and cozy fabric. True to size. Get whatever jacket size you would normally get in oversized. I liked the idea of a hood, buttons and pockets for travel. I didn’t care for the length or the way it laid once I tried it on.

It was bulky in the wrong areas. Specifically the pockets. I have curves and this made my hips look extremely disproportionate. Think saddlebags in the front. I will return and get another style in the same fabric.

This sweater looks great on! Took my usual xs. I’m 5’4”, about 115lbs. Can get away with not wearing a cami underneath. Perfectly oversized without being frumpy looking. Love it!

This is a well made, cute sweater. Depending on the fit wanted, it may necessary to size down to get a more fitted sweater. I came down from a medium to an XS to get my fit that didn’t add pounds to my look.

A lovely lilac color which is as pictured.

I bought this in the cowboy shade and it’s much closer to red than orange — originally had thought that they shipped me the wrong item. Disappointed that the site photos misrepresent that actual product.

Versatile cardigan can be worn with a dress, pants, skirt, shorts, or jeans. Looks well. Lightweight for spring and summer.

This sweater is SO SOFT! I bought 2 different colors, but ended up returning the cream colored one because it was more sheer than I was hoping for, but kept the other one. It’s pretty oversized, but most people are probably going for that look anyway.

It does have a somewhat cropped look, but I have a shorter torso, so it’s perfect!.

I got the sweater in green and am obsessed with how rich the color is! Some reviewers indicated it was a bit too thin, but I love that for layering purposes so things don’t get too heavy! The material is super soft, the length isn’t too short or cropped, and I find it to be super versatile.

Would love for more colors!.

The color of this sweater does not disappoint, the fabric is not scratchy or itchy and it doesn’t seem like it would pull easily either. However it is so thick, that if you’re a bigger size, you might find it adds way too much bulk to your body as it did with mine.

I ordered a large, which I would normally order in a sweater. The thick, bulky nature of the sweater looked terrible on me, not even that lovely green could make it flattering. At that price it wasn’t worth it.

Now I have to spend another 8 to return it so it cost me almost $20 just to try it on. I can’t do JCrew again! I otherwise only order from places where its free ship and free return, I’m sticking with that!.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this sweater but it sold out so fast, but found it in the store this weekend even though it was still sold out online. Another customer and I were joking about how we’d checked every day to see if it popped back up online 😉 We both happily grabbed one.

At first I thought it might be a bit too heavy, but due to the pretty color I bought it anyway. Came home, put it on and didn’t take it off for the rest of the day – it’s absolutely amazing. Like wearing a beautiful cable blanket.

Not scratchy at all. The key is to size way down. I normally would take an xs, I went with xxs. 5’2″ 120lbs. This will get a ton of use this winter and it’s a nice happy color!.

This sweater is STUNNING! The green is truly a bright, happy color. I’m very sensitive to fabrics, and I always worry that things will be itchy. This sweater is very soft, comfortable, and has a substantial weight.

It is NOT itchy! The fit is oversized. I’m 5’9 and typically a size 4/6 or small in J Crew tops. I ordered the small, and it fits like it’s supposed to. It is oversized, but I wouldn’t go down a size either.

The arm length is perfect, too!.

After I tried the first one, I ended up buying 5 more- in different prints. I really like the sleek feel of the fabric that makes it fit with such flattery. This is a lightweight layer- soft & stretchy, perfect for adding some color to an outfit.

It could also be a swim cover-up, or light summer robe with a belt added- very versatile. By the way, I bought the petite length- perfect for my height- another plus since I’ve no desire to ‘hem’ things.

This long cardigan is gorgeous. The seafaring blue color is a knockout. I’m going to review both the cardigan and matching sleeveless mock neck top here. For your reference I am 73, 5’8” , 36C, 39. 5” + hips, 133-135 pounds.

When I buy a cardigan that has no front closure my preference is for it to not close completely or overlap in the front because I want a few inches of what I’m wearing under it to show. For that reason I bought Size zero in this and it works well especially since it has side vents.

At 5’8” I have long arms and the sleeves on this hit me just barely below the wrist bone if I have it pulled up properly on my shoulders. If I just casually throw it on it hits just a smidge above my wrist bones which I don’t mind because if I stack a few bracelets I want them to show.

I bought the matching mock neck tank which is exactly the same weight as the cardigan. It pulls on over your head and in the size zero I struggled to get it over my head which made me feel a bit claustrophobic, and the armholes were just a tad tight.

This is another reason I wish more items were offered in. 5 sizes. I ended up opting for the size 1 which was sooo much easier to get over my head. The armholes might be just a touch too big but don’t expose anything and I preferred having that little bit more roominess in the size 1 especially since it’s a mock neck.

The knit of both pieces has some weight to it. As a Houstonian it will be at least mid fall before I can wear it but it will take me through winter and early spring. I’m allergic to wool so I shop like a hawk for pieces like this.

After all, puffer jackets can’t be worn with absolutely everything. I have other solid color Chicos tanks in lighter weight fabric I can wear with it to change it up. I will definitely wear this combo with black skinny jeans or leggings and boots that hit just below the knee or alternatively my black travelers pants with ballet flats.

As soon as I saw this I knew I’d be purchasing it because of the color and the manufacturer. The blue is stunning and I absolutely cannot wait to wear it but I’ll have to wait for the weather to get a little cooler due to the weight of the cardigan.

I would just bake all day if I wore it now as it is rather heavy. I also purchased the blue Microfiber nylon/spandex tank to wear under this because the color matches perfectly but there’s plenty more on the Chico’s site to wear with it as well.

I even have blue boots, I’m going to be styling when I put that all together! As far as I’m concerned Chico’s is the ultimate clothing that any woman can put on her body and look and feel phenomenal and be confident and noticed for her self confidence.

We are strong women who deserve the best clothing! Thank you Chico’s for making that happen!.

This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve bought this season. I saw it in the window and my jaw dropped because it’s so beautiful. The fabric is so soft and skin is over the body so nicely. It is very slimming, not too hot and perfect for the fall season.

The blue color is just stunning! You could wear this on a fall afternoon or a fancy party or to work. Anything you parrot with can make it look edgy or conservative. I usually wear 2 and it fit very nicely.

Last year I purchased the longer length and loved the warmth and look of it, but hated the length and the flared look on the bottom which formed a sort of rectangle shape. So when I saw it came back this year in the shorter length that I love, I just had to buy it immediately.

In fact, I purchased 3 (Leopard print, Black & Camo). I received 2 of the 3 and decided to keep the leopard print because I liked the color/design but returned the Camo immediately. USPS lost the Black and I didn’t want a replacement.

That being said though, the design/color of the Leopard Print is all I liked. I was expecting the same amount of warmth as last year’s, but this jacket (can’t call it coat) is much lighter then last year’s and weighs literally nothing.

Not only that, but I am a Medium in almost everything and last year’s coat in Medium had a perfect fit but this year’s it was very big on me. I needed to go down a size or two, but I decided to keep and wear a heavy sweater underneath because I am tired of exchanges & returns.

One other thing that I noticed though is that the Leopard Print, even though more boxy on me then the Camo, had the same Flared out/Triangle shape on the bottom (instead of a straight cut) like last year’s coat.

The Camo on the other hand had a straight cut that looked exactly like the way the models presented it, but I hated the darkness of the colors. (I would have kept and purchased another for my sister had it been the same Camo of last year’s which had nice colors).

All in all, it was not worth spending over $300+ for these Jackets/Coats. Perhaps next year they will improve as I love the length of this year’s, the warmth of last year’s and hope next year they make a straight cut instead of flared out on the bottom (does not look good on anyone IMO) and bring better colors.

It’s been about three or four years since I bought new Winter coats for myself. I like to have new styles every now and again. I live in MN and I’m sure everyone’s heard about how cold it gets here. I spend plenty on quality warm weather gear.

The skepticism was huge for me with this coat for a few reasons. Firstly, I don’t usually like puffer coats on me. I feel like the Michelin Man. This one, with the wide horizontal baffles, looks great! It’s also got princess seaming which (and I can’t believe I’m saying this about an outdoors Winter coat) is figure flattering.

OMG, it’s so cute on!! Just like in the presentation videos and pics. May I say, it is also very warm without being bulky. I bought three for me, thinking I’ll keep the camo for sure (because this camo print is awesome) but not sure which, if either of the black and red, I’ll keep.

Whelp, I can’t part with any of them! I’m keeping all three! I even picked up one for my mom in the mocha leopard, I do wish it had an inside chest pocket but everything about it is fantastic. If it didn’t have such a quality zipper and a removable hood like it does, I may not have kept any.

This is a well made coat!! I wore it to shovel 12″ of snow and wasn’t even sweaty but stayed warm the entire time. The red is happy surprise. I expected it to be an orange red (and possibly return it) but it turns out it’s closer to the Americana red that I LOVE! This coat does run a bit big.

I went down one size. I ordered my normal coat size of medium as well as the small just in case (and believe me, I have a whole lot of Winter coats so I know my size. ) I ended up staying with the small because the medium was way too big.

Oh, and the length is also perfect! No need for a double zipper because it sits just fine in the car without needing to release it from the bottom while still giving great bum coverage. While I’m not too excited about that glaring bicep patch, I’ll live with it.

It would be better if the patch was more toned down and/or had the background of the coat color while still displaying the brand. Get it if you can. The TSV price is what allowed me to buy more than I needed and still be extremely happy with my purchase.

i BOUGHT TWO OF THESE AND THEY WERE A TERRIBLE FIT. THE SHOULDER HUNG OFF MY SHOULDER ABOUT 3 INCHES MAKING THE SLEEVES TOO LONG BY AT LEAST 3 INCHES OR MORE. i am of the opinion that no one should order unless you are an xxs or small.

This makes anyone who is large look even bigger Don’t know why I didn’t realize that before ordering. In reality, seeing a very small model wearing this pullover one forgets what size we really are. because it looks good on them.

I too am tired of paying higher prices than in the stores and then having to pay a s&H to send back. I have spent so much money on shipping to receive and then to pay to return is getting rediculous.

Instead of the disigners pushing so many products, it would be better to spend more time perfecting the designs and getting the sizing right ——– right sleeve length, right shoulder, right length, etc.

The shoulders were not in the right place and the sleeves were at least 3-4 inches too long. Unless one is an xxs or small to med. , we should probably not order unless we want to look like the abominable snowman.

The fit leaves a lot to be desired. Seeing a tiny model in this is very misleading. and most are quite tall. This fabric might be warm but I can find many other tops that are more stylish and better fitting.

in other materials. This was a waste of money for me. The designers need to pay more attention to sizing, especially in shoulder fit, sleeve length, garment length. One size doesn’t fit all.

Super soft and very well made. Nice to have something so comfortable that also gets noticed. Lots of compliments!! Love it!!!

For the price and how lightweight this sweater is it keeps me warmer than any other sweater I own it is great

I just love this sweater! It is so soft – warm but not bulky! The quality is excellent, and it fits me like a glove! You can dress it up, or dress it down with a pair of jeans. The buttons aren’t too “gold” looking – they are more of a tarnished gold which really looks nice with the navy of the sweater.

You can’t go wrong with this one. Wish I had bought it sooner!.

This garment is the perfect balance of high-quality fashion and functional warmth. I do have heavier sweaters, but this one is quite warm for the slim profile. The marled gray is tasteful and classic.

I typically wear XL this item fits even better than most from Faherty. The sleeves are ever so slightly shorter than normal, which is a better fit for me.

Very happy with this sweater. It has some tailoring to it, so it’s not real bagging but not form fitting either. Still able to do some light layering. I usually wear a large, but got an XL after trying on same sweater at an unnamed department store.

Online purchase was less experience with welcome code. Able to wear it as part work or casual attire.

I bought the turquoise color in this wonderful sweater. I buy MT in most things Athleta, but in this I bought a regular XL. Runs quite small even though it is stretchy. Unfortunately, Athleta tops have become smaller as the years go by.

Thankfully the sleeves are adequately long, as this sweater does not come in a tall size. Cardigans like this are extremely hard to find! Soft and you can dress it up or down. More colors please! Particularly black and white and other brights.

This sweater is true to size with a caveat. It is to be worn like the model with 2 buttons over a T shirt or a thin full Tee. The sleeves are loose. so if you size up they will be looser. Buy your normal size for a fitted look where you won’t be closing all the buttons.

If you wanna close the buttons, size up but sleeves will be loose. Material is beautiful and very comfy. Sexy sweater on skinny jeans. I am 145 pounds fit, curvy and muscular. Bought XS my usual size in green color.

I love the weight and the texture of this cardigan. It does not look frumpy as some sweaters like this do. I purchased the tawny rose and it looks great with white, gray, and black. It is the perfect 3-season sweater for cool indoor environments and outdoors as well.

Will definitely consider buying another color! I purchased a large. I am 5’6″ and 150 lbs. It fits perfectly.

Your plain Jane cardigan. It definitely runs a little small, I ordered a large and it fits perfect when my usual size is a medium. I could have done a medium, but it would’ve been too fitted for my liking.

The sweater has a slight stretch to it. It is not too thick, but still good at providing warmth. A little scratchy but doesn’t bother me. May affect ppl with eczema or really sensitive skin

I’ve been looking for a black cardigan and this is adorable. I usually wear a 1X but was going to get a 2X so it would be a but baggy. After reading the reviews and seeing its really small I am so glad I ended up going with the 3X but its still a bit snug.

Definitely size up. A size 1X woman shouldn’t be in a 3X saying its still a tad small.

I bought this recently. So soft, almost like a sweatshirt. Very flattering. I went with a size large, but could have gone with a medium. You can never have enough Soma cardigans.

I bought this because I love to wear black and thought it would be a great sweater/jacket for fall and winter. Well, I have also used it as a robe when out of town in a condo with friends. Who knew! Now my friends want one too!.

I don’t write many reviews, but I purchased this cardigan a couple years ago and have worn it soooo many times. It packs beautifully, so it has been great for trips. It’s warm without being bulky, it drapes nicely, it’s super soft, and it is long enough to wear over other sweaters/sweatshirts for extra layering.

I wore it camping (stupid, I know!) and got sap on it. I literally panicked when I saw it. I wear this so frequently, I can’t imagine what I’d do without it. I’m working on the sap, but was so happy to find they still carry it.

Needless to say, I bought a back up and I won’t wear it camping again.

I bought two of these in different colors and as soon as I opened the package, I knew they would be my new favorite sweater. It’s hard for me to NOT wear them every day! The autumn weather has settled in here in the Pac NW and these sweaters are perfect for this kind of weather.

Soooo soft! I’ve washed mine a few times and no pilling. The length is excellent, even for someone with long arms this hits right at the wrists. Pockets are super helpful for storing items when I’m moving about at work.

Definitely recommend! 5’ 7” 152 lbs and a Small fits well, if that helps anybody.
