20 Best Carpenter Bee Killer (2022 Updated)

Garbage. The first can worked great and killed ants and deterred them. The second can nozzle did not work and all of the contents spewed out the top all over my deck. A total waste of money and a horrible experience.

Do not like poison all over my deck. What a total waste. I contacted the manufacturer and they did not stand by their product…. blamed it on my storage and time in between uses!?! Really? Room temperature and from end of summer till mid summer!? I will never buy another Terro product again!.

Had Terminex out who treated for them for two months with repeat visits. After two months and over two hundred dollars, we canceled and I ordered this product. Since then, we have found dead carpenter ants all over.

Like Bengal Roach Spray, this product works.

Bought this because we were attacked by ants in the house. It seems to work but then after a few days the ants came back again so I would run to it as my first insect killer. Might work for you but for me I needed something permanent.

I was over run with carpenter ants. They ate thru a 2×12 floor joists. I sprayed this problem twice and now no more ants. Im thinking they brought the dead ones back to the nest and ate there friends and it killed the rest of the colony.

Home Depot and Menards do not carry this product I found it in a little store in Ironss Michigan called the Dublin store. This stuff is the best.

Unfortunately, this liquid spray did not kill nor keep ants away successfully. Most of the ants just walked through it like it was nothing (some ants moved more slowly after being sprayed, but were still alive), and the ants kept returning in droves, even 2 hours after spraying.

This liquid spray didn’t get rid of ants outside my home, and was also ineffective for my client’s ant infestation. The aerosol version, however, worked perfectly – results were immediate.

When I see um laying dead by their nest Id say the product is perfect. And heads up to all the tree huggers out there that think chemicals are destroying the planet, you need to try this product as a mouth wash.

This stuff was amazing I read all the reviews on it and it was true I have not had a single aunt in my house or Millipede and no termites in mulch which I think the pest control guy purposely put in the mulch when doing my “free” termite inspection and tried to sell me their $2400 termite protection!!! They were right under the mulch on top and were brand new looking looking.

I swear he probably dumped them there!!! Beware of pest control people offering you a free inspection.

I am completely sold. This is an absolutely great product to get rid of the Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Fleas, Ticks, Crickets, Spiders as well as flies. I love how this Spray kills 60+ pests on contact, including several types of wood-infesting, stinging, crawling, and flying insects.

The pests are killed immediately on contact. The instructions are easy to read and understand. I will definitely keep up with applications so that my home can be free of bugs. The ergo grip sprayer came with the batteries already so it’s ready for use.

I had an infestation of ants from the summer heat in my home. They were finding their way in from the windows and the doors. This concentrate is pretty big so I actually didn’t need to use all of it.

I made sure to water it down before using it. It was easy to pour into my gallon container with attachable spray. I saw results pretty quick. I sprayed the outside of my house and any popular entry ways that the bugs tend to come in from.

The swarms of ants invading my house stopped after its use. I’m extremely satisfied with this product.

I received this product to try complimentary of influenster. I had some ants that were annoying and kept coming back. I used this and they are now gone. I want to add that this also kills other bugs, not just the ones advertised on the label, It does come with a trigger sprayer, so you all ready to get when you buy it.

I sprayed it around the foundation of my home. It suggests that you should not spray during the hottest part of the day, and I am not going to do that. They stress that this is not a treatment for termites, it is just like a protective coating to keep them away.

The effectiveness of this says it lasts up to 3 months, and so far it is seeming to last about that long. Even if it doesn’t it’s just as easy to go around and spray your home again, there is more then enough to let you spray around your home a few times.

You can also use this inside if you need it, but I did not need it inside. I would guess that you need to keep pets and kids away until it dries. I will continue to use this product!.

It’s Spring Season here in Atlanta. The birds are chirping, the pollen is everywhere, and the temperatures are getting warmer. With that being said, all of the critters and pests are coming out as well.

I have had carpenter bees eating away at the wood on my deck and it drives me crazy. I had my husband fill the holes like the directions say and haven’t seen a bee since. I don’t know if it’s the product or because there have also been major thunderstorms for the past 3-4 days.

Giving 4 starts because bees are gone since first day of use. It’s been almost 2 weeks.

I recieved this product in exchange for my honest review. First let me say I’ve been looking for something to self treat for termites but we also have an ongoing Carpenter Bee issue. It finally stopped raining here and we were able to treat 3 days ago.

this morning we saw some dead Bees on our way out for work this morning. Last year about this time we woke up to a swarm of termites in our laundry room. we also sprayed this product around and under our house.

I will have to come back after a week or so and let you know how it worked on termites but I think we found a new product for Bees! I would definitely purchase this product! Easy to mix, no mess and no strong odor.

I’ve had several big nests of yellowjackets, and they are super aggressive. I used this to take the nests out and it worked like a charm. Some things that will ensure success: 1. Go out after dark; wear a headlamp or have someone carry a flashlight.

The yellowjackets will be asleep and won’t come flying out. 2. Insert the long straw nozzle far into the nest hole. You can’t get the same results if you are spraying too close to the surface. 3. Use the entire bottle if possible.

This ensures that the nest is taken out; some nests are huge! I can’t give this five stars because anything that’s growing around the nest area will be affected by the poison. So if the nest is near vegetable gardens or fruit trees, be prepared for it to have negative affects.

This stuff killed my peace tree that had a yellowjacket nest right at the base. I’m an organic gardener and really would rather not use chemicals like this, but yellowjackets are JERKS.

This product does not work!! After finding a carpenter bee, we went and bought 3 cans of this immediately. We found the nest and used as directed, directly into the hole. We did this several nights in a row and it did nothing and they drilled 2 more holes.

With all the positive reviews we threw away the receipt and everything, otherwise We would be requesting a full refund. I will be throwing away the leftover product. What a waste of money!!.

I moved into my family home last year after both parents had passed. They built the house in 1967. Carpenter Bees have been “nesting and feeding” on this house for YEARS. I aways heard that you could never kill them.

I purchased several cans of the Spectracide, it truly helped, for this year. There is so much damage, but I plan to stay on top of it ! I like the product and with the straw included, it is easy to spray in the holes.

If you have more areas of bee holes, you may need more than one trap to ensure success. All original carpenter bee holes must be stopped up by winter and their tunnels sprayed or foamed to destroy grubs and maybe queens therein.

Hang your trap fairly close the the previous nest (holes) area. Carpenter queens tend to come back to their original home area and frequently find the ready made holes of a trap far more convenient that having to bore into the (now) stopped up woodwork.

Trapped bees soon give of their scent which attracts more bees into the trap. My traps were hung in January when, in a sunny spell, the first queens got caught. By this April (2022) the traps were so full they had to be emptied to make room for more arrivals.

I used a ” flying insect spray” squirted through the slats of the ” door” at the base of the trap which effectively dealt with any still buzzing inside and then, as a precaution, waited until dark to pull the release cord and empty the corpses.

By next morning the trap was again showing success!. I never had to use any bait.

minus 2 stars for not stating anywhere in the instructions that you have to cut the tip off about 1/2 inch down to open up a hole for powder to shoot out! And then there is a thick paper security cover under the cap blocking any powder from shooting out so that paper must be removed also.

That also is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions! Terrible communication from Bonide company!.

I normally don’t write reviews but had to in this case. I had two ground nests and one rock wall nest of bees/hornets that I tried to eradicate with spray can foam and the soap and water method twice.

Didn’t put a dent in the problem. Bought 1 bottle and treated all three nests and by the next day no sighting at all of any bees/hornets. Great product at a great price.

i had yellow jacket nest in stacked rock wall. used 2 cans of spray, nothing. tried the water and soap, nothing. went to ace they recommended bonide spider and bee killer. for less than $10 i figured no way will it work.

i dusted the rocks to where the bees went in & all around, next morning there were no bees anywhere.

This Amdro Quick Kill Indoor/Outdoor Carpenter Bee, Ant & Termite Killer Foam Aerosol, 18 oz. is fantastic! We have had problems for years with ants and termites. This is the first foam I have come across that really takes care of them!! It truly does what it says!! It kills the insects that you see and the ones that you don’t see! The aerosol can comes with an applicator straw that you insert into the nozzle and spray where insects are seen or suspected.

This is great for our house, because we have a dog door on our porch area, that since being cut out and added is hollow between the walls and this aerosol spray is just right for spraying the foam and it expands fast to start killing the insects immediately.

The net contents of the can is 1 pound and 2 ounces. We have used only part of the can, there is plenty left. The can also gives instructions on the back of the can in case of swallowing, inhaled, gets in your eyes and if it gets on skin or clothing.

I think this safety feature is great, especially if you have children. This is some serious business! The can kills termites (including subterranean, drywood, dampweed and arboreal), wood destroying insects (Powder Post Beetles, Old House Borer, Wharf Borer), ants (including Argentine, Ghost, White-Footed, foraging Carpenter; Excluding Fire, Harvester, Leaf cutter and Pharaoh), carpenter bees.

I would definitely recommend this Amdro Quick Kill Indoor/Outdoor Carpenter Bee, Ant & Termite Killer Foam Aerosol, 18oz to anyone having any problems with these insects and it does cover a long list of them!.

I read instructions, mixed product as directed. Did not kill carpenter bees as stated. Added another ounce of product. The same bee kept coming coming back at me for a 5th drenching. I sprayed the area where they have made many nests and there are no bees laying on the ground where they should have dropped from the nest.

Many more carpenter bees keep coming back looking for a nesting area of my car port. Very disappointing.

I bought two of these at TSC in the early spring ’22. After installing it was only a few weeks and the plastic bins broke at the connection point between the wood box and the plastic. The plastic loop hole with screw broke off likely from not being properly UV protected in manufacturing the plastic.

Then the plastic bee holding tank cracked. I have now used duct tape on one end to continue using the trap. It has caught a few bees, but not as good as the three other brands of carpenter bee traps that I already owned.

They need to address this issue. I will personally NOT buy another.

Had carpenter bees last year in the eave of my garage. Killed the nests and caulked the holes in the fall. Got this trap at tractor supply and hung it up in early spring before they emerged. When they emerged they headed for the trap and my caulked holes remained intact! I only had about 8 holes to caulk.

You would likely need multiple traps for large populations.

I really didn’t believe carpenter bee traps worked, but had to do something and fast. I sprayed pesticides supposedly designed for carpenter bees and it did nothing. When all else failed, I purchased one “Bees and Things Trap”.

It took about 30 seconds to install. The next day I checked the trap and it was empty. I thought well, that didn’t work either. One week later (7 days), I checked the trap for the second time and was amazed to find “37” bees in the trap.

This trap works great!!! I’m off to purchase two more traps for my out buildings!.

Treatment must be done on a regular schedule that depends on the level of insects you have.
