20 Best Carpet Cleaning Powder (2022 Updated)

I returned this item unopened. The instructions for use said you needed to purchase a Pre Mist before using this product. The Pre Mist was not available at Walmart or the other sources listed on the internet.

I am not happy!.

This REMOVES stains whether muddy or greasy. I rub it in with an old toothbrush, vacuum out the powder. If any stain remains, repeat the process. I think it binds to the stain literally stripping it off the rug fibers without damage.

I know it’s science. but it works like magic.

We bought some of this since we had heard good things about it. Just figured we’d have it on hand it we ever needed it. Well, Christmas night we had some red wine spilled on our light beige carpet. We followed the directions exactly, and in 30 minutes the entire stain was gone! This darn stuff works!.

Pros: Amazing product. This is the second time i buy the product. My rugs are very busy from my 2yo and this liquid is super. Cons: To clean my rug i had to put the liquid in another recipient and took it with rug brush as the nozzle is extremely tiny and the amount of liquid or foam was not appropriate for me.

Fingers pain as i had to puff a significant amount. That’s the only point where it should improve. Increase the nozzle gap to have a larger liquid sprayed. Thank you.

This works pretty well. Not quite the same as having the carpet cleaners though. I use the sturdy scrub brush to work it into the carpet and then let it dry and vacuum. It removes greasy spots where the dogs have been chewing on their toys and dirt from doggy footprints.

It works best when you use a good stiff brush to work it into the fibers of the rug. The Only product I know that doesn’t leave a residue to attract new dirt.

Cons: Did not like chemicals which smell which was being disguised by lemon aroma, but still came through as artificial. Did not really notice much difference in cleanliness or softness in carpet as claimed.

It did warn that it is not suitable for marked staining.

I understand our current shortages of merchandise, but a product is marked as being “In Stock” should not take in excess of a month to ship. There has been no “Out of Stock” notice since the order either.

This follows on the cancellation of a back order of the same products that didn’t ship for two months and a returned Oreck vacuum that scratched my hardwood floor. I have loved Oreck products for many years, but I think I am done now.

Sadly, I cannot recommend Oreck products in general at this time.

We have used the Oreck Carpet Cleaner Dry Powder to clean carpeting several times with the aid of the Oreck Orbiter, the terrycloth bonnet, and the Premist Spray. I first spray the Premist, then sprinkle the Dry Cleaner, lightly mist with clear water, clean with the Orbiter and Terrycloth Bonnet attached, let it sit several hours or overnight, then vacuum.

It has done wonders on our cream carpeting that is 20 years old. It looks brand new. I’ve even sprayed the Premist onto melted chocolate stuck in the carpeting, and blotted it up. Then followed with the normal routine of cleaning and the chocolate disappeared.

One turquoise melted candy spot took several mists and blots, but did eventually come out. I would never use any other method to clean my carpeting. This stuff is fantastic and cleans better than the professional carpet cleaners.

I had a bunch of carpet that was installed new 4 years ago. Not a fan of wet shampooing so I kept looking for other options. The carpet had some minor spots and lots of traffic pattern. I had read about the dry shampooing process and ended up with an Oreck for a sanding project and connected the dots.

The dry cleaning process with the pre treatment was so easy – so fast and literally was ready to be walked on an hour after I started. All stains pulled right up – traffic patterns disappeared (even on the stairs).

This is my go-to product for general dirt, mud, grime, etc. brought into the house by two dogs. Can be used for one spot at a time, or for larger areas (easier to do with a brush mounted to a broom stick).

I have carpets that are over 20 years old, and this stuff keeps them looking presentable, if not pristine. Smells good, too. Probably won’t work on urine stains – need a specific urine cleaner-upper for that!.

No need to wait for your carpet to dry like traditional shampooing. You can walk on your carpet while its working. Sometimes take two spplications for heavy soil and spots. But that’s still only 2 hours compared to however long it takes for carpets to dry after shsmpooing.

Plus good luck finding a rental carpet cleaner.

I have just want to caution people with this because I am really regretting using it. I don’t think I have ever given a product one star in my life. My friend recommended the pet odor eliminator version of this stuff to help with a wet dog smell on the carpets of the rental we were moving in to.

He deals with rental homes a lot so I thought it must work great. What I didn’t account for is that he doesn’t actually live in any of those homes. The carpets had already been professionally cleaned, but it may have brought out the smell more or perhaps it wasn’t enough to handle that level of smell.

My husband went to buy the pet odor eliminator and he bought a box of this one too since they didn’t have enough of the other one. The smell on this isn’t awful if you aren’t spending time in the home, but 24-7 it’s way too strong.

Even one of the movers said he smelled vacuum powder so it’s not “subtle” at all. The pet odor version has a scent but not as much. This one is just a cheap perfume scent and in addition to that I now have that combined with an underlying dog smell.

And to make matters worse our first night in the home I woke up with a headache. Took some medicine and the headache went away and not even two minutes after I laid back down in the room with the powder the headache started to return.

Also before going to bed I noticed my husband sounded stuffy like he had a cold. I figured it was just the arduous moving process that had worn him out but now I know it’s this product. We had vacuumed that carpet 9 times before actually moving in.

Keep in mind these products are also hard on your vacuum. I even switched the pattern of my vacuuming to include diagonal patterns to try and stir up more powder and still it is this strong. I have a shark bagless pet hair vacuum (it’s pretty powerful) and I was constantly banging out the filter and the powder coming off of it is just endless.

So just take this into consideration before using it. Or maybe try plain baking soda instead. But wear a mask and be prepared for a ton of vacuuming. I’m to the point where I am willing to pay to replace a carpet in a home we don’t even own.

If you are prone to allergies or sensitive to fragrance, beware! I had an allergic reaction to this product. Put it on the rug in our bedroom and the carpet in my daughter’s room. Immediately started to have burning/itchy eyes.

Vacuumed it up with a shop vac and then went over it multiple times with our Miele vacuum. Have had windows open and fans running off and on for 48 hours now and it’s still awful! Looks like the powder is gone but the smell is still horrendous.

Runny nose, itchy eyes, and overall horrible allergies to this. I leave the house to get relief but as soon as I am back in our room or my daughter’s it starts again.

I purchase these different carpet fresh powders often. They help block pet odors that stick to carpets consistently since I have 3 pets, 2 small dogs and 1 cat. Initially I like this scent a lot and I love how it even keeps my vacuum fresh smelling for an extended period of time.

However, I wish It would keep the carpet fresh smelling for just as long. It’s one of my favorite fragrances they make, just doesn’t seem to last nearly as long as some of the others. I still really like it and just tend to apply a little bit extra when using.

I bought a Dyson Vacuum cleaner. The package of Zorb was inside the box. I put it away & just really forgot about it. One day I was looking at my carpet & decided it needed something done to it. I had a sick dog for awhile & she had made a few messes on the carpet.

I cleaned the mess up but I still had stains showing. I was looking though my cabinets to find something to use on my carpet & found the package of Zorb. I did put the Zorb on the carpet, by the instructions.

After I vacuumed my carpet, I could see a BIG difference. It looked so much better! I really like the product & will continue to use it.

I have used this product for 18 years on white carpets. Use the stiff short bristle brush attached to a broom handle and scrub standing up. About an hour later vacuum and the carpet is dry. This product is great.

Miracle product! I inherited pet and other carpet stains when buying a house and tried many cleaning approaches to no avail. This product miraculously removed the stains from white carpeting in two rooms, so we did not have to replace the carpet.

I first received this product from a furniture store after purchasing an Oriental rug. the pros know!.

This spray worked better at eliminating the dog urine smell better than the last spray I bought (OUT! blue bottle). It got rid of more of the odor than the other one but I can still smell some urine in the carpet.

I tried spraying it twice and the urine smell is still kind of there. The dog that peed was a big old boxer. He had an accident. a big accident and I tried to two sprays so fat and the urine smell still lingers.

The carpet is very thin, so it’s not like it’s hard to get to the bottom of the carpet. I definitely recommend this spray over the first one I used though. But the fresh scent it was supposed to give off, disappeared after the first night.

I woke up and it just smelled like slightly wet carpet (it was dry, I tested it) and a hint of urine. I thought maybe it was just in the air, so I fanned out the room and I can still smell those smells.

But at least it doesn’t smell as bad as it used to. I’m going to try a different urine remover spray and see if that works. Thankfully, there’s no stain but that odor is so strong! This dog’s urine is no joke!.

Resolve Pet Carpet Cleaner Powder is an interesting alternative to traditional spray on cleaners and dry powders. This powder is sort of wet. You sprinkle it all over your carpet and then use a scrub brush to get it really down into your carpet and to work out stains and smells.

Wait 20 minutes, then vacuum it up. Your carpet will look much better than it ever could with other cleaners. It is almost as if you rented a carpet washing machine. I like to use this first, then vacuum it up and then use my deep clean carpet washer to get an almost professional carpet cleaning.

I have a little senior doggy who occasionally has accidents before she can make it outside and this cleaner is great at cleaning up those little spots. It is very affordable and does a great job at cleaning the floor.

I do recommend this.

About ten years ago I first discovered SEBO Duo P carpet cleaning powder at a John Lewis store where I had been sent by my parents to buy SEBO dust bags. I never knew that SEBO sold the powder and was intrigued and now its one of the most staple cleaning powders in my home – and still I buy it from John Lewis.

You get a bit more for your money here by buying the service box as the box is reuseable for future pouches of SEBO Duo P powder. However, it isn’t an airtight box – and thus it doesn’t need to be if you follow the directions in keeping this powder moist – all you do is snip a tiny top right angle at the top of the bag to allow some of the powder to drop out and close up, either rolling over the plastic and sliding the bag back into the box or just use a paper clip to seal the bag and slide into the box.

I’ve had one Clean Box that lasts 6 to 8 months and still moist using this method. In use, you don’t need to use the brush either – for spot cleaning on fresh stains, blot the stain first with water and pat dry out with a dry towel.

Then add a sprinkle of SEBO DUO P powder and rub it in with the back of your hand – this stuff is non-toxic and non hazardous to pets and children – and it has never affected my dry skin in 10 years of usage.

By using your hand, this powder creams up on the stain in question on impact AND thus use the brush thereafter to comb the powder in with the flow of the carpet’s fibres. Thereafter the stains disappear.

Used on red wine, coffee, dog excrement, tea and curry stains – I find Duo P to be a very effective and reliable cleaning powder. The scent is quite low too – a mix of lemon and some washing powder – and it doesn’t hang around too long either, making it perfect to roll into the carpet if you have any SEBO upright and removing the hose to cut the suction.

Brushing the powder in, also neutralises heavy smoker’s rooms, especially if that smell is forever embedded in the carpet.

So glad I came across this when buying my new Sebo vaccum. My daughter had vomited on our new lounge carpet and my husband hadn’t noticed. Everything I had tried previously had failed to get the stain out, and I didn’t really want to resort to having the whole carpet professionally cleaned after only a month.

After working out what I had to do from the instructions (which aren’t great) it has completely removed all trace of the stain! Haven’t since had the need to test it’s abilities out again.

This is the second pack of this carpet cleaner I’ve bought over the years. It is best used ‘fresh’, as it dries out over time even in the sealed pack it comes in. Sprinkle it on, scrub it into the carpet and then leave it to dry.

Once dry you just vacuum it up. I used it on my beige carpeted stairs and it visibly lightened them. It is quite expensive for a carpet cleaner though.

There is no sprinkle top on this product. Who has the time to brush the carpet before vacuuming? Directions say to sprinkle then brush product into carpet. I have other pet products I use that require brushing or rubbing (for spot cleaning).

When I’m ready to vacuum a room I want to sprinkle, wait, then vacuum. Thanks for adding extra work to cleaning the carpets. Initial thought was giving this one star, and I still feel that way. But, the carpets are softer and look better than they have in years.

Honestly, that’s the only plus about this product (in my opinion). I have a dog that sheds and there is always dog hair when I vacuum. I got no dog hair after using this product, only powder in my vacuum canister.

Maybe this is the product working, but makes me wonder what’s left in the carpet.

I’m a housewife raising an autistic son. My only experience cleaning carpets/rugs were using a machine (Rug Dr. ) & professional services. Both left me underwhelmed with its results and overwhelmed with its dry times.

Resolve Powder in combo with Resolve Sprays gave me great results, fast dry times, and an unnoticeable reoccurrence of stains. The hardest part was using a small push-broom to scrub the high traffic areas + spots/stains.

We’ve become a shoeless household, too, because our carpet feels so soft underfoot after a cleaning. Another problem is availability. Has the Resolve Carpet Cleaning Moist Powder product been discontinued?.

My smallest dog threw up some stomach acid/bile (yellow/green) on my creme colored carpet. I did what I could right away, basically got up what I could with wet rags but once it dried, I could still see the area where it happened.

I bought this hoping for the best but going in with low expectations because I thought the stomach acid had stained the carpet. I used as directed, and when it dried, the stain was gone, like it never happened.

I. Am. BLOWN. Away! I was influenced to buy this by my mother in law. We bought this area rug used on marketplace and it was pretty dirty. I never knew a product like this existed. I had fully resigned myself to the fact that I would have to steam clean the whole thing.

NOPE! This stuff is incredible. It smells fresh, it lifted and softened the fibres. I could go on about this stuff forever. But I will stop there. Go get it!.

This is my go to carpet freshener for everything! Old pet smells? Check. Weird toddler accidents? Check. Smelly teenagers? Check. Almost setting the house on fire everything smells like burnt plastic? By golly, you can count on this to help you soak up replace the smell! It is relatively cheap, however I seem to only be able to find it at Walmart Target, not so much at any of my grocery stores nearby.

My kids love playing with water, unfortunately for me. After a few months of us moving into our new place my husband and I started noticing a really gross smell. I kept thinking it was the hamster cage but it would still linger even after every change.

My husband then suggested that it might be mildew. I purchased this in hopes that it would help with the smell and I am so happy I came across this. We sprinkled it all over our living room and hallways and left It for about 20 minutes.

We then vacuumed it up and now we don’t have that annoying, lingering, nasty odor. This was something I definitely could not get to go away with candles, wax, or plug-ins.  It’s been a few days and I can still smell the scent when I walk into our home.

 LOVE IT!!.

This has reduced a couple of oldish stains from wood burner smuts and coffee, and dealt with a new satsuma squish pretty well. but it isn’t a miracle worker. I like the brush provided to allow you to work the powder into the stain.

I heeded the warnings in other reviews about this drying out quickly, so have it double bagged, which seems to be working. Smell is mild and unoffensive,and it’s dead easy to use.

This product is very good at removing stains from fabric and carpet. I received a complimentary box when I bought my SEBO and have been so impressed with it that I’ve just bought another. You only need to use a small amount for it to be effective.

Doesn’t remove every stain but which product does?.
