20 Best Carports For Snow (2022 Updated)

This shipped very fast and no pieces were missing! It was pretty easy to put together. We had four people and banged it out in a couple hours- even with a few oops! LOL Nice quality product. Nothing to report weather-wise though.

It rained so far but that was about it. We have it mounted to wooden base so this shouldn’t go anywhere. It’s meant for storage from my classic car. its 18. 5 feet long so I can even open the car doors with this one!.

I like it a lot, worked out in the rain underneath it yesterday! Kept me good and dry! Went together super easy I’d say 1. 5-2 hrs it was up. The roof is well made everything went together and lined up as it should.

only thing I forgot Todo was put the cable that goes from the side to the peak to the other side but was able to pull the bars apart while it was standing to do it! I’ve only had it a few weeks now but I’m very happy and would definitely buy another and have recommended it to friends already.

I was also able to stretch it out to around 11ft 6in to make it a little wider with no problem!.

I purchased the 10 X 20 carport for my boat this Spring. I not only followed the directions, but enforced the tie-downs as mentioned in some of the reviews. This fall I removed the canopy for winter storage and noticed that the Bungee cords were slightly stretched.

I contact the company and was quite pleased when they sent replacements. They really stepped up, and will certainly get my future business. BTW, the canopy held up though high winds, hot temperatures, and torrential downpours.

Arrived in 3 separate boxes which made moving it easier. Building this was definitely a challenge. The instructions at times aren’t fully clear as some of the images don’t clearly display how some things should go together and after assembling it becomes clear that the order some things should be done is not how they are laid out.

There are also no pre-drilled holes in the framing. They give you about 1000 screws with drill tip ends you can use but there are a fair number that just won’t cut into the metal so you need to swap them out.

Thankfully there are plenty of extras provided. Additionally, there is no beams connecting all the vertical posts so they sway while you’re trying to attach the roof. As a result it’s very easy for things to become unsquared as you go (especially if you’re building this on not perfectly level ground) resulting in some roof panels not fitting very well by the end.

We ended up with a couple panels that we just had to screw on there a bit crooked due to minor shiftings as we went. Some people complained about it leaking which I could see happening. While they do give you some stripping to put under the panels I can see it not keeping the water out if the panels aren’t seated perfectly.

So I ended up using some cocking to fill all the seams when we were done and it hasn’t leaked at all. All in all. seems decent quality, we’ll see how it holds up during the winter. Assembling the frame is pretty easy but the roof is a pain in the back (literally).

We built it over 2 days probably took around 6-7 hours to put together.

Carport is very strong. Comes with very heavy steel beam pipes and roof. I have a sedan camry hybris. It just covers the car. Since front & back are open, front and back windshields get covered by snow/rain very easily.

Also I have asphalt floor (not ground), so was not able to anchor the pipes. The provided anchors broke easily if hammered into asphalt or concrete floor. Anchors work only for ground. After assembling, one side of 2 inner beams were tilting outwards.

This forced the roof sheets not to align. I was not able to straighten the beam. The T pipe itself was not 90′ straight. Good thing is easy to assemble. All parts are provided. Only Need a strong electric driller (not battery operated) since need more force to screw the bolts.

Battery operated driller was not able to force the bolts.

The Arrow all steel carport is not cheap but it is very sturdy– unlike the many less expensive alternatives that are smaller and flimsy in structure. Assembling the structure takes some time for the non-professional like myself, but once some initial issues were overcome it went smoothly.

Essentially all of the many pieces fitted together easily; only one required some strikes from a sledge hammer to get a part connected to it (there was a very slight bend to the square end of one of the support beams, which likely occurred during shipping).

The assembly manual is almost all drawings with little verbal assistance but the drawings are very clear. There were only two that caused me problems, the first being step 6 concerning the placement of arrow-like devices into the ground to anchor the structure (from wind).

I had no idea what these were and made a mistake on the first one I deployed: a rod used for pounding the device into the ground has rubber tips, which I inserted into the device as instructed by the drawing; once the device has been sufficiently pounded down deep enough the rod is pulled out and used for another one of the devices (there is one for each upright on the unit, 14 in all in my model).

But as I did not remove the rubber tip beforehand the rod stuck and would not eject no matter how hard I tried; it had to be sawed off at ground level. There was no guidance in the assembly manual about removing the rubber tip.

Thankfully the assembly kit contained three such rods (I purchased the 20X29′ model) and I have been careful with the two remaining– which ejected from the device with ease without the rubber tip in place.

The second problem is that the trusses are very heavy once assembled and I think it would be very difficult for a single person to raise them up and get them into the uprights. The manual shows a ladder but given the weight and how it’s distributed over the truss, such a procedure would certainly have been impossible if I were doing this alone.

(A neighbor had a tractor and he came over and lifted the trusses up one-by-one with the fork lift and we got them into the uprights with ease that way; there were a total of seven on the 20×29 unit.

) I could not have done this step without his assistance. ) But all in all I found this to be an excellent product and would gladly purchase it again or recommend it to others.

According to the installers, they would suggest 2 cross braces on each side for better support during the windy weather Down East. It took 2 guys a better part of 2 days for the installation. The 12″ anchors went in successfully even with all of the limestone we have in our area.

Overall, they were impressed with the quality of the structure. Secondly, the roll-up doors may cause grief during the Winter for one person to navigate through the rolling up of each side. During installation it took two guys to roll up each side both on step ladders.

Has your company thought of another process to raise and fall the doors? We were thinking of a pulley system adding a gusset that a pipe could be inserted into each section of the front and back doors where one would pull up and lock that section of the door in place for entrancing and exiting (similar to venetian blinds).

Our intention was not to leave the doors open the entire Winter defeating the purpose of the shelter. We would welcome any suggestion that your research team has discussed to date regarding our concern.

Just wanted to let others know not to get this carport if you want protection from rain. It’s a good quality product and installs very well, but with the way the panels are installed there is just no way it will ever not leak.

Where the corners of the panels meet and overlap, there are multiple paths for the water to seep through. The sealing tape provided only seals one of those paths. The issue is made worse by the fact that the corrugation runs horizontally.

This creates troughs for the water to pool, which increases the tendency for seeping. I cannot see any feasible way to address all the leakage points with caulking or sealing tape. So far the only solution I can think of is to cover it with another “roofing” layer.

I really wanted to like this product because of the good quality materials and ease of installation, but I felt it important to warn anyone thinking of using this for rain/snow protection.

Bought to keep my classic car from weather, have had to buy additional tarpaulins for sides to keep weather from coming in at side. It is a shame that there can’t be sides added to it. However it is Very sturdy, easy to put up and very good value for money.

Would highly recommend.

Great value for what it is, I paid more for one that was very thin metal that rusted quickly. This one is much heavier duty and the cover is a good sturdy tarp. I’d recommend it if you need quick cover that will last.

I thought i was purchasing ONLY the top. althugh it did not occur to me that $ 214. 00 was a lot of money for a piece of plastid. The size listed , which was the same size as my frame,did not fit over my existing frame.

I ended up with an entire unit. Thankfully I was able to return the entire unit and am waiting for my refund to be credited into my account.

No complaints! Instructions were only a few pictures with part numbers and that made it very simple (not sure why people would complain about that) every single hole lines up no issue if you do as the instructions say and start with level ground! It took me less than 5 hours with the help of my wife on 5 occasions to stand up the main uprights.

Very easy very sturdy and I plan to buy a bigger one soon! Highly recommended for the price. It comes in 3 boxes 36 inches wide and 6 feet long! 500lbs total but 2 people can unload each individual box.

The product is sturdy and the quality is good. It is easy to assembly if you have the right tools. Otherwise, it is a nightmare to assembly carport.

Awesome radio blast from the past. The radio came super packed with bubble rap. Works well for being 38 years old .

Easy to erect framework. Plan to add corner gussets to increase stability. Level and plumb base is critical. The putty rolls were mangled in the packaging so were a challenge. They should be twice as wide so they can be installed over the screw holes in the roofing panels to prevent leaking.

I had to go back and seal all the screw holes with sealant. In today’s world of CandC production it would be very easy to include pilot holes in the crown of the roof trusses to locate the center roof pieces.

The instructions are very poor and not very explanatory. Be sure to read lots of comments to get the full picture. Having said all of that we are pleased with the result and would purchase this product again.

Great buy. The only problem we had was that one of the rows of cling (stuff to seal the panels so it’s water proof) got smash and it didn’t roll out very easily. It will take at the very least two people, three might be better,.

Been wanting a carport forever and I finally ordered it. The materials are good quality and it looks good. I would recomend Arrow brand to anyone who is looking for shelter for their vehicles, a covered patio, or just extra room.

I just finished building 5 of these for an outdoor school and have a few things to say and warn other buyers of. The frame is great, it goes up easily and quickly. However, the roofing method they chose is terrible! It’s sheet metal, which in most cases is great.

But because they needed to “flat pack” it, they cut them into horizontal 2×4′ sections (28 in total using 6 self taping screws each). Lining them up is difficult and if you stray just a bit off square you are hooped.

And I don’t even have to wait for it to rain/snow to tell you it’s going to leak. the snow will get stuck on the horizontal grooves and melt. The next thing I did was to prevent somebody (in my case, a teacher or older student) from clipping their head on the corner.

The are only about 5. 5 feet high so I cut the corner off back to the post and used the trim (supplied with kit) to cap off the edge. To prevent them from leaking, I’ve tested on of them with some roofing silicone and will report back once it rains.

Overall, the structure is for sure more sturdy than the other Shelter Logic products but they HAVE to do you something about this roofing system.

In regards to the carport i am very disappointed in numerous ways. such as the actual design is very poor,very hard to assemble because of how its design. the overall price is totally over priced for the product i purchased.

That carport is only worth about half of what i paid including shipping and handling. i would never purchase another item from this company nor refer anyone.

The dimension advertised on the web and packaging box 12x20x7. Once the frame is connected, it is measured only 12x18x7. The length is NOT ACCURATE. I installed this carport on ground, I had to dig 3 holes each side to place post (4×4) to secure the foundation, followed the measurement 20 feet, the actual length is only 18 feet.

The overall frame is not strong. Don’t recommend this product.

A great product looks great. My only fault would be that the roof panels would be much better if they were longer. If they were 5 or 6 feet it would go together faster and look better. It would cost more to ship them but I believe that most people would pay that I no I would.

Heavy & Well machined with all parts suppled. Although it would have been nice to have the option to buy additional panels to complete the sides further down the side walls. The instructions booklet & illustrations needs improvements!.

Love this carport. I am amazed at the quality of the components. Hardware. Very well laid out with great graphic instructions. Extras of each are given. The precision of the nuts, bolts and hardware are due a shout out for quality.

We were not sure at first about ordering the arizona wave carport, but after reading all of the reviews we decided to buy it. We would recommend this carport to anyone. It is worth the price and will last for many years.

We are very happy with our purchase and we would buy this again.

Easy to follow instructions chord together well, sturdy. We have used it as a pool shade structure. A few days after installing a severe storm including strong winds and hail passed through but shade structure weathered it easily.

The carport took a little while to put together but it was actually really easy. I followed the instructions in the manual and had no problems at all. Everything lined up perfectly, and all of the holes were pre-drilled so it was very easy to assemble.

I was debating for a few weeks to purchase this carport and was worried about the quality of material. I decided to pull the trigger and am very pleased with the Norwood Carport/Gazebo. We have set up an outdoor dining area in our backyard and it provides adequate shade during the hot summer months.

I bought it after my Honda windshield cracked in the Arizona heat last week. A bit reactive, but I had to do something. So it came a few days ago in July the very day the monsoon season started here.

We started assembling the parts as soon as the delivery man placed it on the patio. All the parts were accounted for except for one set of metal pipes that did that not align perfectly but other than that, everything seems fine.

Three of us worked in putting the car port together. We were not in a hurry. It took about 2 days, resting every hour or so because of the extreme heat. We followed the manual but mostly used common sense and adjusted to the local environment.

The metal pipes and tarp used seem sturdy enough and the strong wind didn’t damage the car port the first night even though the wind was really crazy. But to be safe just in case, I left the car outside the first night and I was on stand by guarding it.

There is another storm warning tonight. Hope it brings only rain. At least my car was in the shade all day today! If needed, my car, stays out until I know it can take the second test!.

The dimensions are different than advertised. Advertised as 15 foot deep, 8 feet wide and 10 feet high. I confirmed this with one of your agents before making the purchase. Actual dimensions are 15 feet long, 10 feet wide and only 8 feet high.

What I received is too low for my equipment and too wide for the area that I have to build it on!.

Great product. Its has survived the entire winter with snow and high speed wind storms. My tractor is completely protected and was never touched by the elements. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have used these types of carports before; this one is easily twice as robust and tight. Simple to build by myself, in less than 2 hours. It came with a cracked cable tightener. They were so apologetic over that one tiny cracked part they rushed me four of them.

Very accessible customer service and a fine product.

Great product for the price. had trouble with damaged parts after a storm, customer service took care of the issue quickly. I would gladly give 5 stars to not only the product but to customer service.

If I need another carport I would buy another. Customer service was great.

All picture install instructions were just enough. Went together as described with fairly tight tolerances for a tarp/shed. I added additional weights at each corner so the thing doesn’t blow away. My weights are 5 gallon buckets filled with gravel and then strapped to the upper horizontal support.

I also put small rebar in the lower seams of either end to keep the blowing of material down. I like the shed so far. It went together fairly easily. Thumbs up.

For what you pay for, it is a good product. Winters in Montana will tell so enough! The directions are pictures only without explanations, and are about the worst I have ever had to deal with. They are very unclear as to the attachment of the ratchets, so they were place where it could be seen that they could actually work, not as they tried to present in the instructions.

The hardware list is in metric. It would be good to have the screws in inchs and thread count. These could be included in the list in brackets. So when you don’t get the correct amunt you can replace down in your nearby hardware store.

You will have to supply your own spike to place in the pads the are on the ground. THe corners are seated with the corkscew anchors, WHICH ARE CRUCIAL, DO NOT LEAVE THOSE OUT OF YOUr PUTTING THIS TOGETHER!!! Everything else was good.

Also, you won’t have anyone to call if you do have questions on construstion, as they use Email, which I never was answered. Fortunately this was my 4th canopy to put up so it wasn’t that back. Make sure you go through the parts list and verify everything is correct before you start assembly.

The canopy itself is just fine for what you pay for, and I would probably buy it again, but really, someone needs to redo the instructions to be usable and accurate.

NO instructions!!! very difficult to assemble. fabric must be stretched to the limits to fit. Metal frame thin and flimsy. Manner of connecting joints weak and difficult.

We used this to camp in at burning man. Easy to setup. We parked our van under it and slept inside that. Worked well for novice camping. It was hot though, and basically cooked us when the sun came up.

I think next time we will use shade cloth over the tent as the tarp did not breathe well. But we did open up the sides, rolling them up, to allow for airflow. Downside of that is dust got inside our camp area.

However, it did exactly what we needed it to do, provided privacy mostly. We plan to set it up as extra storage now.

Nice heavy duty canopy, fits really good to frame work, way better than the one I had before. Price was good and delivery was fast. I would buy this again.

Decent quality. Not disappointed. Took an hour or so to set up. Easier with two people. Ordered the side walls. Lots of room for my Rav 4.

This is definitely a 5-star product. We use the gazebo in the summer months and provides excellent shade and protection against inclement weather. Would highly recommend the product to anyone that regularly host dinner parties outdoors.

Purchased this carport for our second home and we couldn’t be happier with the final product. The instructions were easy to follow and the quality of the parts are Grade A. The electrical outlets are a wonderful addition to add lights to the gazebo.
