20 Best Carports For Wind (2022 Updated)

Only 4 stars because they originally had sent me a used or returned top that had missing parts and stripped screws. If I’m paying $800 for a new top I want new not a used one. They did make it right and swapped it out right away though in less than a week.

The install wasn’t that bad just like some other people had mentioned the threaded handles could be about a quarter inch longer at the least and had a hard time with the driver side for some reason like other people mentioned also.

I found out if you put the clip on and screw it in place that’s like 2 steps later it will match up and thread a lot easier. It looks good and fit well it just needs time to stretch out a bit more because right now it is hard to close back up.

Over all I’m happy with the look and ease of opening it up.

Yes, it is a little pricey but I have no regrets. So much better than dealing with removing and stashing the freedom panels. The only drawback would be that the wind is a bit worse with this down than simply with the panels out.

But I get so much more use out of this. It’s a positive trade off. Installtion was pretty easy doing it alone. I only had one bit of difficulty where I thought the bolts were going to be too short until I realized the rails were not seated fully.

So that part was tricky getting them fuly seated but once I realized the issue I sailed through it. Once I got them seated good it was a breeze to finish and it fit like a glove. Had I been outside with better light I’d probably not have had that trouble.

But it was a rainy cold day so I put them on inside my garage with less than great light. Getting the z-clips in was not super easy nor was it that hard either though it took a try or two. With it closed I see very little noise difference.

I have had it on a bit over 2 months and went on a 3 week business trip right after installing it and it was outside in a lot of heavy rain and not a drop got through. And I have since driven in rain quite a bit and it has remained dry.

So it has been leak tested really well and came through with flying colors.

Great product but installation for a novice like me was tough. The 1 hour installation time was 1/2 a day with an assist from my mechanic. All the parts were included, everything protected well for shipping.

I had difficulty getting the holes to line up and cutting a slit in the roll bar cover was not enough. I had to remove a good square of material. Once I had it all together except the big screws that go into the freedom panels I tried to close it and I couldn’t.

My mechanic was in and he helped out for a total of 10 minutes and had it all in place. Pays to know what you are doing. I’ve had it retracted then back in place numerous times now. Absolutely love it.

The Clam Quickset Pavilion is good if you have room for a very large, very heavy screen house when you camp–it was much too heavy, bulky, and unwieldy for my husband and I, and I returned it. When folded up for storage and transport, it is still huge, and so heavy that it takes two people to manage it.

The claim that it can be set up by one person in 60 seconds is ridiculous. Due to it’s size and weight, it is harder than expected to set up, and if you are in windy conditions, it is almost impossible to get it staked down and under control even with two capable people due to the privacy panels catching wind like a sail on a 60 foot yacht.

My experience is that in terms of setting up, it is harder–not easier than other similarly sized screenhouses I have owned. Mine had a seam that was pulled apart in the roof which would have leaked water, I’m sure.

The comments that it is stuffy and hot inside are also valid. If you have room for transport and storage, and you aren’t expecting to be able to set it up in 60 seconds, you may like it. I prefer something lighter and easier to pack and store, and I wasn’t impressed with the difficulty of setting it up.

We are totally impressed with this screen shelter!! We have never had anything like this in the past – only a 2-person “pup” tent, so we did not know what to expect. After reading numerous reviews about how simple & quick it was to set up, we decided to purchase it and hope for the best.

We were NOT disappointed!! The first time we set it up, it took about 20 minutes to set it up, including fastening all of the tie down stakes provided. Take down only took about 5 minutes. We just set it up for the 2nd time and it only took about 5 minutes, so we definitely learned from our first experience.

It is the perfect early gift for Father’s day for me because of my severe allergy problems with mosquito and other assorted bug bites!! I couldn’t be happier with this gift. I also ordered two 2-packs of the wind panel coverings from the manufacturer and just received them today.

They are perfect for both privacy and protection from the elements, and installed very easily!.

Love the pavilion itself, but they need to put wheels and better handles on the carry bag. Because of its weight it is very unwieldy to carry or transport especially if your a smaller stature person.

Another improvement would be Velcro straps for all the window ties. Much faster than string ties. Love the speed of set up & tear down!.

Bought this tent on boxing day for what I thought was a good deal. Wasn’t impressed with the quality. Biggest issue I had was the zippers. It was so tight to close, sometimes we had to release tension on one of the hubs just to get the zipper closed.

Also the layout of the 5 sided tent actually makes it kind of awkward to use with 3 or 4 people. And of course the bag is complete garbage, super tight and only opens from the end. The old Eskimo bags had an oversized bag with the zipper running the full length of the bag.

They need to revisit that design. If you think its tough getting back into the bag, try doing that in -30 in the wind out on the lake. We returned the tent and bought the Cabelas brand thermal wide bottom.

Much better build quality and the square bottom layout is a better idea. Disappointed in Eskimo as I have had good success with their tents before but this one was junk.

I bought this hut on sale last year and went out a few times with it during the season. I enjoyed it a lot more than the old Quickfish3 that I used to use but still own. Something I would suggest is to buy the accessories that will prolong your investment.

The travel cover will keep snow out and your gear in the sled. The tracking kit (runners) will reduce wear on the sled when on hard surfaces. The tow bar you will need to tow the hut behind a machine like an ATV or snowmobile.

I wish the hut had a back window and a handle on the hitch/tongue of the tow-bar. The design is compact enough to fit in an SUV. The chair that comes with it is a bit uncomfortable on the crotch. The tracking kit should be attached first to the sled before assembling the hut.

Very well packaged & very sturdy. Good instructions. I chose to stain ‘fully’ every piece before putting it together for some added water protection which made for a ton of work but definitely well worth it.

I’m used to putting things together on my own but this needs tools the average person probably doesn’t have. My brother with his tools & knowledge helped put it together with reinforcements. stronger hinges & securing the boxes to the screens, and some more.

We put the the screens together prior to putting them on top of the boxes because we added heavy duty locking wheels. In the boxes I added 1/3 full medium rocks at the bottom to weight it because of wind while making sure it wasn’t too heavy in the boxes in spite of the fact the boxes are very sturdy and then filled the rest with red bark.

We’ve been looking for something that was attractive to provide privacy on our deck. We’ve spent so much time and money trying to make it look tasteful. This screen is beautiful and very well made. It’s exactly what we were looking for and the quality we wanted for our favorite spot in our home! Thanks for going above and beyond to make a quality product!.

I have used this tent twice so far in Alaska. In the fall, setting it up at night in a steady rain, and while snowshoeing with a snowstorm rolling in; heavy gusty winds each time. Tent went up easily, working around the dome raising the walls evenly, the inner tent stayed bone dry.

Guyed out all the tie outs. Walls gusted with the wind, but the poles and tent were rock solid. Plenty of room for two with full winter gear. Integral vestibules are great feature to not worry about staking out or coming loose in the night, and had room for storage and to cook.

While snowdrift did get into one vestibule, the inner door zippers allowed access to the gear without snow getting into inner tent. Ventilation worked well, but the top flap small hooks can be a bit of a challenge when cold.

Yeah, you are toting a 4 season tent, but the weight is comparable to any other out there. When you are listening to the wind howl, it is good to know you have a strong tent. Only downside so far is drying out afterwards.

You either have to set it up, or move around the inner and outer tent fabrics. Not as easy as a typical detached fly tent.

Some of what we learned might help others. We had fun doing it and the results are spectacular. My wife and I did 95% of the work in constructing our 12×12 Meridian Gazebo ourselves. As I built the beams and roof panels, she handed me the right screws, and also removed the film from the metal parts, which easily cut the time in half.

We recruited a couple of neighbors to help with connecting the posts to the beams and also for raising the roof panels. I found it better to assemble the long beams/sections and roof sections on our flat concrete patio, as opposed to on a raised table as recommended.

It was easy to keep the assemblies straight that way, as opposed to just eying things. One of the things I wish I had known before starting is that the gussets keep things squared when squaring the beam assemblies to the posts.

I drove myself crazy with a tape measure, level and square, going from post to post to try to get things perfectly squared up. As I tweaked one post another would move slightly. Finally I realized that if I leveled and squared one post and then attached the gussets to it, that post stayed in place while moving to do the same thing, post to post.

I used four concrete wedge anchors (3/8 x 3 1/2) per post, which worked well. I sunk them all a bit over two inches deep and then cut off any protruding bolt ends with an angle grinder. (Whenever I use an angle grinder I wear goggles and a mask.

No exceptions. ) When attaching the roof panels to the rafter assemblies, I used a battery powered drill that had a variable torque setting, from 1 to 20. A torque setting of 4 or 5 proved perfect, got the screws snug but not overtightened.

For us the hardest part by far was getting the roof panels all connected and squared. We got them up and bolted together in about an hour, and then I spent another two to three hours micro-adjusting to get the corners squared and everything lined up.

This part of it was more complicated than I thought it would be, because we had a couple of warped rafter corner boards. I had to install an extra bolt in two of the rafter corner connections to pull the warped pieces into place.

I also used C clamps while getting things aligned. Once done everything did line up square and aligned perfectly over the roof to post brackets. I also had trouble getting one of the four ridge caps on.

I had attached one of the eight roof panel ridge clips too tightly over the screws along that edge, so the cap would get caught as I pushed it up. Three went on easily. One was a problem. I ended up finding a long wooden dowel I could use to nudge the ridge clip up as I slid the cap over each bolt head.

While this gazebo was moderately easy to assemble, I do recommend you enlist some friends to help with putting it all together. The instructions are straightforward, and I only needed to flip back and forth in the booklet a couple of times to figure out what part they were talking about.

The parts are well-labelled and the instructions use the label numbers in a mostly clear manner. During assembly, some of the pre-drilled holes do not line up precisely, leading to some uneven edges – nothing that impairs function, just esthetically unpleasing.

I was able to assemble the posts, beams and roof sections by myself, but attaching them together required help. The metal roof sections all had plastic covering both sides, which was extremely tedious to remove.

I enlisted help for that step. The posts and beams attachment can be done with two people, but as the instructions suggest, the roof requires four people on ladders. I also purchased the mosquito netting, which was easy to add after the gazebo had been assembled.

We are very happy with the final product and have been using it daily all summer. The only reason I did not give five stars was because of the misalignment of some of the pre-drilled holes, the plastic sheeting on the roof parts, and the laboriousness of attaching the roof segments to the rest of the product.

I had first seen this gazebo towards the end of summer 2020 and knew I needed this. Obviously it was sold out, summer 2021 rolled around and by the time I was ready for it, sold out again. April 2022 rolls around and it’s available so I jumped on it.

Delivered by Home Depot within 48 hours. I stored it in the backyard until end of May and it even survived (in the boxes) the derecho that blew through our area. I decided to sand and stain it the same colour as the deck I built and the patio furniture fits absolutely perfect.

The colour is beautiful and I’m so very pleased with the install. The men I hired said peeling the plastic off was the longest and worst part of the job, but with 4 guys it went relatively well. The structure is sturdy and very well crafted.

A couple of the boards were warped a little but I chalked that up to me storing for a month or so outside in the elements. Not warped enough to not be able to use them though. I am beyond happy having invested in this piece as it completes my little outdoor oasis.

Roller shade and solar lights to follow shortly. Can’t wait to be using this almost full time for quiet reading time.

First off… I Love this Carolina Pavilion! It has made a Huge difference in the yard, and I feel as if I have added a whole new living space to my home overall. The Pavilion is very well built and sturdy! The instructions were well put together, and the Helpful Tips Video was a big help.

I was able to do most of the work myself, but I needed help to set up the columns, and to put the roof in place. Both operations went quickly with a bit of planning. A few of the pan-Head screws inside the roof area were missing (not enough to finish), but they sent them to me within a couple of days when I noticed they the shortage.

It is a good idea to do an inventory with a count of the parts, and to be certain that you are using the “correct” screws at specific points. Some screws are very similar, but slightly different. There was an excess of the most basic wood screws that hold the structure together, but the Pan Heads are cosmetically more important, and a lot of them are not used until you are almost finished with the final steps.

I was very pleased to find that the columns have a hollow center (until you reach the top where it is very solid), and I was able to run an electrical line up the center of one column and install an outdoor outlet near the top to plug in my lighting and anything else I might want to power.

One of my photos illustrates the pre-planning for that operation. Make sure to use the proper outdoor-rated Romex and underground electrical PVC. I drilled through the wall of the house to tie into an unused outlet in my Living Room.

Pavillon Méridien 11’x13′ This is a real nice piece, I’m totally satisfied. 5 Stars for sure. There’s some minors flaws but for a kit pre-cut/drilled I’m impress that just those little things. Everything is well labeled, pre-drilled holes was spot on, fairly easy to install and it adds so much character.

The kit comes in 3 boxes and all the pieces and screws are well labeled. Till you keep your things well sorted, you can’t go wrong and mix things. Keep all the screws in their bag. The metal screws (34 exactly) was a pain to drill, they did hold to my drill and I scratch the roof because of that.

Minors scratches, but I screwed 100’s of screws in 2 days and the only time this happen was with the metal one, I tried different/new bit and nothing to do, just poor head screw. 2 wood pieces was bend, but I’m surprise, for the number of wood pieces only two was bend, all others was straight.

And only one give me some difficulties to screw it right (Roof rafter) I was alone so it was difficult to hold and screw at the same time. But everything finish at the good place. It’s wood after all, it can bend.

But it’s a thousand time better than small metal post. I was alone the assemble the kit and it took me approximately 10-11 hours including 45 minutes in the middle(after 5h) with 2 others to get the frame up and at the end to put the roof on top (1h30) I used clamps to get everything align especially the roof pieces.

It was perfect to have a good fit. Take your time and everything will go as planned. Make the extra step to be sure everything is flush as it can be and it will save you problem later. Finally it’s a great kit, I’m glad I purchased it.

If you look for a sturdy gazebo with a natural look, go for it, it’s really a beautiful piece for your backyard.

This solid cedar unit is well made and accompanying instructions are clear. 2 people is preferable for assembling but much of it can be done alone. Probably 3 people are required (with ladders) to lift up roof panels but that part only takes half an hour.

There is a fair bit of work to assemble it all but it is quite satisfying when you’re done. In my case, I assembled it on a deck 2 inches away from the house. Although it is designed to be made with access from four sides, I was able to find a way to do this without access to one side.

The size of the pavilion works well with other products like a 10ft long roll up shade. We bought 2 of these shades from Home Depot as well. Very satisfied.

I should have paid closer attention to the reviews that commented on the faulty alignment of the doors as they were absolutely correct! To pay for a new item and end up with a defected one is not worth the money, especially if you invest more for assembly, which I did, on top of paying extra for the shelves.

My advice is this…be aware and ready that if your item is defected, sadly, you’ll get very little support from Walmart. My shed was disassembled twice in the attempt to get the doors to align, which they never did, so definitely not rainproof.

You could send it back and take a chance the replacement will work out, but you’ll also have to invest more time to disassemble and repack the shed…it’s hardly worth it. I had to literally fight and spend hours with customer service before they would even consider providing a discount of any kind.

Their 5% discount offer was an insult…I finally accepted $28…hardly worth the time, money, and hassle…but after the initial contact it became more about the principle…why should customers accept paying for a defected item?.

The umbrella arrived in good condition. We unpacked it and followed the instructions on how to plug in the solar panel to the umbrella. We put it out all day to charge and waited until evening to turn the lights on.

The lights worked, although they were not very bright. Maybe my expectations were too high. We like to play cards at our table on the patio and thought this umbrella would provide enough light to keep the games going after dark.

The small LED lights provided ambiance but not enough light to play cards. After two days, we had a rain shower. The water flowed down the material of the umbrella as expected but the canvas panels are not waterproof, so they ended up getting wet and the water also dripped all over us under the umbrella.

After the rain shower, the lights stopped working and have not worked since, despite our attempts to disconnect and reconnect the solar panel. Ultimately, it is a decent looking umbrella that does not light up nor does it keep anything dry beneath it, which is the primary purpose of an umbrella.

I saw plenty of umbrellas for over twice the cost, usually with fewer color options, but many with more LED lights. I chose this BCP umbrella because it was cheaper and I really wanted the green to go with my patio furniture.

I was worried that the small number of LEDs would not provide enough light. Fear not! This thing puts out plenty of light to see by, ALL NIGHT LONG! I have had the umbrella for almost a month, use it just about nightly, and have NEVER had the battery run out on me.

Every day at the end of the night I have to turn the lights off when I head in, because they are still going strong after hours and hours of use. I also have mason jar solar lights and those things die after like 2 hours.

Not this umbrella! I haven’t figured out the maximum use time after a full charge but it is LONG. The on/off button is also easy to find and use. It is a little bright red switch right above the crank handle on the umbrella pole, a bit over halfway up.

This thing is sturdy and well-built, too. I use it in one of the BCP umbrella stands, which I do NOT recommend because it blows over, but due to that fact, the fact that I have had this lovely umbrella sadly blown over on me twice now, I can tell you it is hardy and seems like it will last a long time.

The solar panel and rechargeable battery sit at the top of the umbrella, and I was worried it could have been damaged by the umbrella crashing down since there is nothing around it to protect it, but it wasn’t harmed at all and is still charging the little LED fairy lights beautifully.

Assembly of said solar panel, and the whole umbrella in fact, was painless. Screw 2 poles together, solar panel has one little cord that plugs into the top and then the whole thing just slides right in (or screws in, or snaps, I can’t recall but it was easy).

The hardest part is getting the umbrella out of the box. Once all the pieces are unpacked, your umbrella will be ready to go in about 3 minutes. Just remember to get a good base! If you have never had a patio umbrella before, don’t forget that umbrellas and bases are sold separately because some people have tables for them, others use them stand-alone, and that changes what kind of base it wants.

Keep in mind that umbrella pole diameters can vary so check that the stand’s dimensions are compatible. As I said, I got a BCP base, which I do NOT recommend. It’s the 29lb 18 inch round umbrella base stand and IT BLOWS OVER! Maybe the BCP fillable stands are sturdier.

I did not want to have to mess around with filling it with water or finding a place to get sand, so I went the weighted route. If I had it to do over, I would probably get the fillable one and find a place to buy sand, because I think those are heavier.

I bought this canopy 4 years ago. I used my own anchors and parachute cord to hold it down. It is still standing with the original bungees and tarp. I live in East Texas and it has endured multiple 100° days as well as the Texas snow storm.

I would highly recommend this. I am in my 50’s and assembled and put up the entire canopy by myself.

I acquired a 10×20 King Canopy kit back in late ’80’s. Back then, it didn’t come with any poles for legs and frame work, just canopy, connectors for the frame and legs and bungies. Fortunately, I had a friend that had conduit, and cut me a nice frame for a 12×20 set up, I had six 6′ legs and six 3′ legs.

This was very handy as I could use the 3 footers to drop the canopy down low, keeping my equipment dry, and the low height of the canopy had winds blowing over it, never lifting it up. This set up was used for motorcycle road racing and was ideal with it backed up to my trailer.

And using additional walls in the back half, provided some privacy. You learn real fast, that in strong winds, this thing becomes a parasail, when you anchor it down, you need to mean business. I was racing in Spokane once, this fellow had his canopy anchored to his race bike (approx.

350lbs)and one of those “mini” tornados came by and lifted his canopy and bike and dragged it along the side of his trailer. ouch! So yeah, use common sense when using these canopys, accommodate your surroundings, and this canopy will provide shade and partial protection from the elements for years and years.

I loved this thing and would do it all over again!!!.

This thing was a piece of junk!! When we first put it up I was thinking great, this will protect my car!! We even weighted the legs down in buckets of cement to keep it in place. 3 weeks later we get our first overnight storm and this thing literally fell apart!! The legs were still in the buckets but the whole thing shifted at the top, complete junk!! I wish I could get my money back but it would cost more to return it!! I bought this cause of all the great reviews.

I was hired by a couple here in Osoyoos BC to assemble 2 of these Vitoria Polycarbonate Carports. I do a lot of this kind of kit form assembling of various building supplies. First impression opening the box was it was well packaged to minimalize damage.

These kits came with extra screws, nuts and bolts which anyone will tell you is a nice start. As with all projects I went to YouTube first to get an idea of how to assemble, found a few video’s which really helped.

Instructions in this kit were typical, not good, not ***. but added to the video’s I watched the combination made things simpler. I would highly recommend not tightening any of the structural nuts and bolts till the very end of the build.

Do the tightening last and then anchor carport. Another recommendation is to just get the screws started on one side of the flexible roof panels, hop over the other side and get screws started there as well.

You will know right away why I am suggesting this when you get to this part of the build. To end my review I gave this unit 5 stars because it is smartly designed, good quality parts, and fairly easy to build.

If you need a unit to keep sun off your vehicle like we do here in the Southern Interior of BC this is a good unit. I have no problem with someone reaching out to me to ask questions. 250-818-6098 LarryC, Osoyoos BC.

I am really pleased with this carport in that it looks good and works well. The only caveat is that I have not used it in snow conditions or high winds but it looks sturdy enough. I found the instructions clear and easy to follow.

I did most of the work myself assisted by ropes from overhead tree branches and with occasional help from my wife. I really appreciated being given spares of all the nuts, bolts and washers. However I would not recommend the bolts and plastic anchors that are provided for fixing the posts to concrete; the heads of 2 bolts broke off when being tightened.

I suggest buying 3/8″ all metal anchors which go in very easily and attach strongly.

This carport is perfect for what I needed for because it’s smaller than most carports and it looks great. Because of it’s small size, I can finally fit 3 other cars on my driveway. The directions were good, but I found watching the short You Tube to be very helpful too.

The video has you put all the top brackets on before putting it up on it’s legs, the booklet says to attach 5 of the brackets after raising it. I would recommend following the video’s way of putting all the top brackets on before lifting it up on it’s legs.

I live in Florida and because I wanted maximum shade for my car I bought a roll of very dark tent to put on the panels before they went up and I am very glad I did. I took a guess at how wide the panels would be so I could have the tint delivered before the carport.

I bought 24″ wide, which is a little too narrow. I should have bought it 26″ or 27″ wide instead. But mine still looks great with the 24″. Also, since the sun hits the sides of the car I ordered sun screen fabric that I am going to use between the 2 legs on each side.

In order to get it to the top of the legs I will need to remove the brackets and then replace them after the fabric is up. I plan on having 24″ of fabric on both sides by time it’s completed. Of course a big concern to anyone living in Florida is hurricane season and that’s another reason I am glad I chose this carport.

It will take less than an hour to remove all the top panels before a hurricane strikes. The rest of the structure is so well made that I think it will be fine leaving it up, since there would be little wind resistance after the panels are removed.

Echoing other reviews, I am really pleased with this product, for the same reasons: Assembly: Yes it’s not like LEGO, but it’s pretty near perfect, and it’s metal so you can adjust a bit as needed. It can be done with one person and a stepladder, except for 1 bolt, near as I can tell.

I used a fence as a brace to square up the frame, and then a stepladder to help me get the top arch in place (2 of 4 beams attached). Obviously don’t uses the tools it comes with – if you need those, you are probably out of your element already.

I used a combination of screwdrivers, wrenches, and electric ratchet with allen sockets and bits +10mm for bolts. Quality: The instructions are better than most metal product kits. The parts themselves have great finish, I found 2 small bends on the roof panels, but otherwise immaculate.

The extra hardware is brilliant. Time will tell how well it stands up, but I would definitely recommend lagging it down – it’s a big sail in the right wind. Lag bolts are not included, determine what you’ll need for your application (tapcons for concrete, lag bolts for wood, spikes for dirt, etc).

I was going pay the $350 and have the contractors assemble the canopy but at time of checkout that option wasn’t available (I assume because it was being delivered to a remote/rural location). My brother & I put it together and it took about 7 hours.

I think the instructions & parts labeling were very well done although, as usual, were intimidating at first but the steps and parts made sense as we made our way through the assembling steps. My brother & I are somewhat experienced doing this type of work but as long as you have 2 people & a 6′ step ladder it will be a breeze, albeit time-consuming.

We put a patio table in the area to keep all the fasteners, tools & small parts handy and that helped a lot. Also, ample extra fasteners were provided. nice! A couple unclear issues we determined is that hooks & mosquito net ARE provided (hooks & solid, soft cover are not however there is a 2nd “track” that you can add those to later without having to disassemble anything).

We taped the “loose” hooks to the track during assembly so they didn’t fall out as we were adding posts, etc. but in hindsight, those could be added after assembly even though the direction showed adding them before the posts & roof went together.

I rarely give reviews, but this Lifetime shed met and exceeded my expectation. I purchased the 10×8 ft shed over 10 years ago. Moving it between locations we’ve disassembled and reassembled it 3 times (marked the pieces).

Of course the assembly took 1-1/2 hours, about 1/3rd the time as the first time. which took about 5 hours. Also called Lifetime and ordered an additional 2. 5′ (30″) section (with windows) making it 12-1/2 ft.

(see pictures). Foundation: The first time it was placed on a bed of gravel (gophers and mice would go under the plastic floor), 2nd time 1ft square patio blocks, then the last time I poured a rough concrete slab (recommended) using 2x4s and pre-mixed sacked concrete.

Make it 1 or 2 inches bigger than the dimensions of the plastic floor. (Note: The plastic floor is not exactly the same dimension as the “shed size”. So get your shed on-site, measure the plastic floor, before building the foundation.

Tips: As with building ANY structure, make sure the foundation is perfectly level. If not, then the roof and the doors do not line-up as expected. Still, you can shim-up the corner to align these. Also, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the screw fasteners when assembling.

Don’t think tighter is better. you will strip out the plastic material and the screws may eventually fall out. That said, screws snug-tight, after multiple assemblies, has held perfectly for over 10 years.

Weather: I wanted a “maintenance free” shed. This shed is on our ranch property near the Pacific Coast where we get high winds, salt air, and scorching sun. ANYTHING steel, unless galvanized, will rust away in just a few years.

When I put on the 30″ extension I was concerned that the plastic walls and roof would be faded and wouldn’t match the new section. It matched perfectly! I made sure that it is partially protected from the prevailing winds off the ocean.

Pacific storms can deliver 85+ miles-per-hour gusts. No problems. Also the metal parts are protected inside so is virtually no rust from the salt air! It has been maintenance free, as expected. I have been so impressed with this shed that I purchased Lifetime Storage Deck Boxes 3 years ago for the patio furniture cushions.

They are the exact same color and durable like the shed. I’m very happy. My wife now wants to purchase another Lifetime shed, with a side-entrance, to put along-side her raised garden beds. (on order).

Lifetime should correct info area. Now, with the shipping info. there was many obstacles of this female, not able to give info correctly and could not understand her low voice and complications of her headset.

With prices of wood through the roof right now, a roof was out of my budget. With no protection over my charcoal grill, rain has been an issue. When I saw this at Sam’s Club, I bought it immediately.

The next day after assembling it, I was out there cooking some epic burgers during a very strong spring storm. Rain, thunder and lightning didn’t affect my cookout at all. Assembly (for me) took 4 1/2 hours and I had to invoke the help of my wife and daughter a couple times, but it wasn’t overly difficult.

I would have given it 5 stars, but it didn’t come with wood lag bolts for fastening to our aging deck. A trip to Lowe’s remedied that. Plus, they only have 4 roof rafter brackets, and in my most humblest opinion, it should have had 6.

i previously purchased the Arlington 12×10 Gazebo about a year ago and i was AMAZED and the quality of the product delivered to me. Everything was exactly as i expected it, except for the hardware. not to get into too much detail here, it was a slight nightmare getting it to all come together as it was supposed to.

it took a lot of muscle and a lot of time but we got it up and it looks Amazing. when i saw that they now made a Grill Gazebo i got so excited because having the Arlington now for a year, i know i was dealing with a superior product.

but i was worried about the assembly, i did not want the same thig to happen to me again. I emailed the company and they assured me they corrected that issue, so i bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered it.

it was delivered right to my backyard and i went ahead and had a fun weekend putting it together. Well let me tell you, not only did i NOT need the weekend to put it together, the Hardware isse was FIXED!! everything went off without a hitch and i t was all assembled and up within 4 hours.

AMAZING. i cannot believe they made their product even better. it just tell me that this company real cares about there product and i cannot for the need to purchase another Patio product. HIGHLEY RECOMMEDNED.

if i could give the product more than 5 stars i will. now, if you excuse me, i am going to put in some light in my new Grill Gazebo and enjoy my grilling experience!.

From ordering to delivery to setup this is a great product. The material was high quality. The directions were actually decent. I do recommend that you read them through once, lay out parts and tools, and also when doing some of the middle steps look ahead then go back and do the step.

I found this to help support what the end result would be on the current step. I would challenge the takes three hours! And having 3 friends is helpful. 4 to lift the roof. Lastly once assembled it is heavy and hard to move so be prepared.

Dear Walmart Shoppers: I am disappointed in the KING CANOPY Company. I was sent the WRONG PARTS in a 13×20′ kit purchased in 2014. I didn’t notice the error and attached the cover anyway. It seemed tight so I thought it was supposed to be like that.

Over the next two years, the cover slowly started to rip at its attach points. Puzzled, I measured everything yesterday and realized I’d been sent the wrong parts in the kit. Subsequently this caused a lot of problems and KING CANOPY won’t help.

It’s visible in the attached pictures that the C & D pipes I received are the same size (they’re supposed to be different sizes) and they’re both 40. 25″ long (but I discovered later the C pipes are supposed to be 32.

5″ and the D’s 39. 75″ long). This made the skeleton bigger than it’s supposed to be and made the cover too small (notice the skylights can’t make it over the front and rear pipes). My mistake was not noticing the wrong size pipes were packed in the kit.

KING CANOPY’S mistake was sending a kit packed incorrectly. I’m paying for my mistake but KING CANOPY says this is not their problem and refuses to help. That’s just wrong. In June 2014, I paid $470 + shipping for a 13×20′ KING CANOPY Storguard garage.

I put it together in July 2014 after speaking to customer support. It seemed kind of difficult to attach the cover to the pipes (skeleton to the cover) but I did my best to get it to fit and attach the bungees.

After 2 years, I noticed there were tears in the canopy where the bungees are tied to the front and the back. I’m a retired engineer and studied it a bit and puzzled over what was going on. I thought about buying a new cover but was concerned the new cover (cost $119) would have the same problem.

I was correct in my hesitation to buy a new cover. I took out several of the pipes that make up the walls and measured each pipe and swage (that fits into the pipe). Each pipe and swage (30 in all) is 40.

25″ long. When the pipes are put together, the total length is 77. 25″. There are 3 sections (upper and lower so six in total) of 77. 25″ pipe plus four 2″ vertical pipes that support the walls and roof.

That made the length of the garage ~ 20′. I calculated that as follows: [(77. 25″/pipes/section * 3 pipes/section) + (4 vertical pipes * 2. 0″/ vertical pipe) = 231. 75″ + 8. 0″ = 239. 75″ = ~ 20. 0′] Next, I measured the length of the cover.

End to end, it is 235. 0″ = 19. 6′. The cover is 4. 6″ too short to reach the end of the skeleton. However, the cover is actually supposed to attach at its interior vertical bungee holes (which are about 5.

0″ from the cover’s end). This means the cover is actually about 8″ too short. That’s why attaching it anyway led to its ripping at the seams (where the bungees attach). At this point I realized that the cover would never, ever fit, so I decided to figure out if it was the cover that was manufactured incorrectly or if the pipes were too long.

It had to be one or the other. I looked up specs on the King Canopy website but could not find any specs for the cover such as actual length. Here’s all I could find. Storeguard’s manuals are well written and the parts list is clear.

Build diagrams show: • The 13×20′ wall is made of 3 C Pipes (32. 5″) and 3 D swage pipes (39. 75″) • The 13×24′ wall is made of 4 C’s (32. 5″) and 4 D’s (39. 75″) • The 13×27′ wall is made of 4 C (40.

375″) and 4 D pipes (40. 375″) Bingo! At that point I knew the problem was that I received the wrong size pipes and swages! My C & D pipes/swages are both 40. 25″, not what they were supposed to be (32.

5″ and 39. 75″). The 13×20′ cover will NEVER fit correctly. My mistake was trying to make it fit rather than recognize the error. I just thought it was a tight fit. KING CANOPY has discontinued sales of their 13×20′ Storguard and it’s probably because when you calculate the length using the spec’s numbers, the end result is a garage that has a length of only 17.

9 feet (69″ * 3 + 8″ = 215″ = 17. 9′). Maybe people got upset because they had an 18′ garage rather than a 20 foot one. I don’t care about that — I just want mine fixed now. I called KING CANOPY and explained the situation.

They asked me when I bought the garage and I told them in 2014. They said to send an email with a copy of my receipt and explain the error and attach pictures of the C & D pipes with a measuring tape showing they’re the same size (each is 40.

25″). I also sent pictures of the bungees attached to the skeleton showing the cover was tearing at its attach points from being stretched over the past two years. (It took two years before the rips were big enough to be noticeable because the cover is pretty well made.

) KING CANOPY got everything and then quickly responded the warranty is only for one year and sent a parts list for all three of their Storguards. I told them that at the start of our conversation. What they seem not to realize (or just don’t care) is that I’m stuck here because their 13×20 replacement parts won’t help fix a MISMATCHED garage.

I supposed I could buy 30 new C & D pipes and a new 13×20′ cover (at a considerable expense of $265 + shipping) or buy a 13×24′ cover (at $130 + shipping) and hope it fits better even though it’s too big.

I’m not sure how to salvage this garage and KING CANOPY IS NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING. I also contend that this is not a warranty issue. This is the same as if someone bought a car that was supposed to have a 2.

0L engine but got one with a 3. 0L engine. Because the consumer is not mechanically inclined, she didn’t notice the wrong engine was in the car. After a couple of years of driving around with the wrong engine, the car starts to have serious issues.

The consumer then closely inspects the car and realizes it has the wrong engine and notifies the manufacturer of the error. If the manufacturer’s responds, “Sorry, your car’s warranty is up so this is not our problem! Bye bye.

” That would be wrong. I didn’t notice I had the wrong parts and assembled what was sent to me. I made a $500. 00 dollar mistake for which KING CANOPY is making me pay and they get off scot-free. They are not interested in owning up to their mistake.

I made several mistakes here: 1) Not noticing the C & D pipes were the same size 2) Not noticing the C & D pipes were 40. 25″ instead of 32. 5″ 3) Not noticing the D swages were 40. 25″ instead of 39.

75″ 4) Trying to make the cover fit by attaching it anyway 5) Not realizing the cover was slowly ripping 6) Buying anything from KING CANOPY I was a manufacturing engineer for many years. This error should have been caught waaaay before it reached me.

The minimum KING CANOPY should do now is to send out a new cover (13×24′ perhaps but maybe it would not fit correctly — I’m not sure) or send the pipes that should have been in the kit initially and a new 13×20’ cover and ask me to pay for their cost for a new cover.

Heck, KING CANOPY is not even interested in trying to help figure out how to solve this by advising the best solution here. They just sent out the parts list for all three Storguards and said it was not their problem.

They are not a good company! BE CAREFUL IF YOU BUY FROM THEM!!.

Nice design. The top glides quite easily and both doors can be padlocked together with the roof in one step. The gliding top is an essential part of the design as it allows the height to be low (and therefore not aesthetically dominate a small yard) while also allowing you to walk in mowers or bikes to the back of the shed.

I was able to fit a full-size adult mountain bike and a large 13A electric mower side-by-side. It would also fit two bikes side by side if no mower. If more height is needed for garden tools, you can add a Suncast vertical shed – they are shallow and available in colours matching this shed.

Instead of a large garden shed in my small yard, I have one of these and two 54″ vertical sheds.

Now that it’s done, I’m very pleased and feel confident that it will last for years. However, it turned into a bigger project than expected due to the fact that failure to construct a rather elaborate wooden or concrete platform to hold the shed will void the warranty! Creating that platform essentially doubles the time/labor/cost, not to mention the cost of additional materials.

I’m not sure if there is anything out there that will hold together without this kind of platform, but if I’d known how big this whole project was going to get, I’d certainly have looked harder. Doing it myself would definitely not have been an option for a single 60-year-old female with a lot of other responsibilities.

As it was, it took a professional handyman and his 20-year-old son about 6 hours to complete, including time to shop for materials to build the platform.

I’ve owned 3 awnings to date! Of the three awnings I owned, this is by far my favorite! First is the ease of use. This awning takes less than a minute to setup with only 1 person! Something that is just unmatched! The quality of this awning is the next noticeable feature.

We’ve used this awning in almost all the element and it’s held up amazing! This is a product worth considering to add that extra touch to your van!!.

The item was supplied with damage to the outer case. Although it seems to work OK I would not recommend this supplier as I received no response to my emails. They even substituted the item from what I had ordered – without any notice to me.

FIAMMA are a good brand with great equipment. I’d recommend them to anyone.

I got home with product and it was a black case. I dont have energy or capacity to return so i have installed the black one. A little disappointing that the sales person did not check the order. I guess i should have.

After finally receiving the long-delayed tent and another few weeks of waiting for a day without rain, I got the chance to set up our new Oztrail Lumos 6P Blackout. Admittedly, having had to borrow the Blackwolf Turbo Plus for a camping trip because of the delayed delivery (a virtually bomb-proof and super-well-designed tent), I had buyers remorse even before I got to open the package.

But I wanted to give it a chance, so here are my first impressions. Setup was reasonably easy. Some may struggle to extend the four fast-frame poles, as they do get quite some tension. But once that is up, the rest is pretty straightforward.

It has a good quality floor which will come in handy on those massive downpoors or during wet periods. Being a blackout tent, one of the first things I noticed were some holes in the blackout plastification (see photos).

Now I can imagine this can happen with age and maybe from use and improper packing, but this was straight out of the box. The areas seem ok from the outside, but the bright light shining through from the inside has me concerned about these three areas becoming potential weak or leak spots.

I shall await advice. Blackout technology claims to reduce heat and blockout daylight. It does the latter pretty well apart from the dodgy spots I mentioned. As for heat reduction, the lining of the fly really heated up super quick.

Not surprising really, given the colour of the tent is dark grey – maybe a fancy but not seemingly very heat-wise colour choice by a designer. Finally the pegs. Now this is a real sore point for me. So easily fixed and such a silly thing to save money on for what they consider to be the top-range of the fast frame series.

Firstly, not only were there no spares, but there were not even enough to peg out every loop and rope to facilitate a complete setup. I was one peg down. Secondly, having just camped a few weeks ago in wet conditions, these small pegs are simply not good enough.

Once the ground is wet, they simply won’t hold and will come out. Common Oztrail, put some decent size pegs into your Lumos series. Not only will it give your customers the impression of buying a solid tent, it will save them a lot of heartache in wet or wind and will probably even reduce your warranty claims because people can set up the tents properly and they will thus function to their full potential.

Overall, the tent fabric, floor and fly seem to be more solid than many a tent in its price class. The in-built light seemed handy and was a good idea, though I wonder whether it is indeed bright enough to be useful even on the high setting and so am not sure if it is worth the extra cost – a bit hard to tell during the day even in a blackout tent.

The colour – for Australian summers, make it something light or reflective. The pegs – replace them with some larger pegs of sufficient numbers (and a few spares). I look forward to our first outing in the Lumos 6 though I’m glad I’ve checked it out before going for real.

I absolutely love the OzTrail 6p Lumos Blackout Tent, it’s brilliant! The quality is superb, and super easy to set up. This is our second OZTrail tent and we loved our first one which was alot cheaper, but are blown away by the quality in this tent.

You definitely get better quality for paying extra for the more expensive range. OzTrail has brilliant ventilation in their tents and there is great clearance between the inner and outer fly to increase air flow and reduce condensation which is great.

I love the near vertical walls which gives you great headspace within the tent. These walls still hold up well in wind too. The tent ‘pops- up’ and ‘pops-down’ really easily as stated, like a gazebo does.

I love that the tent bag is expandable to make it easier for pack down and that there are straps included to help keep your folded tent in place. It does fold up differently to a standard tent though, bear that in mind- take note of how it unfolds when you first set it up.

I had to google a video from Oztrail of how to pack it up which was helpful and now that I know how to, it’s very easy to pack-up. Completely ‘blackout’ as stated, but more-so than I was expecting which was great.

With everything zipped up in the middle of a sunny day, you’d definitely need a light to see inside. The only thing that surprised and disappointed us was the lights. They were easy to set-up and use and were really bright which was great.

I also liked how you could run them off a powerbank instead of batteries. The light switch remains illuminated so that you can find it in the dark, we did unplug them overnight though so we could sleep better without the glow of the switch.

However I feel like I have been subjected to false advertising when considering to buy the tent with or without the lights. In the photos on the listing for this tent, it shows the LED strip lighting running down the poles to the corners.

This is what we were expecting, 4 strips of lights running down to all 4 corners, as indicated by the photo on the listing for the tent. Instead, the tent comes with just 1 strip of lights across the top for $100 extra.

It is clear that the photos that have been used on this website listing are of a different model, with no disclaimer that the photo was of a different model. Keep this in mind when considering whether or not to upgrade to the Lumos version.

There is 1 pole running horizontal across the width of the tent and that is where the LED light strip is located.

Was so excited to order and receive our tent. Headed off camping for Easter. On first assembly a bolt was bent and consequently a section of the roof kept collapsing. My husband improvised and used a screw to temporarily fix it-it then went up easily due to fast frame.

Sadly another clip that attaches fly to tent was also broken. Once assembled was initially really happy with the tent. Good size for our family of 4. Blackout helped keep light out in the morning enabling a sleep in.

Lights are fantastic and definitely needed as verybdark in the twnt during the day due to blackout fly. Unfortunately in the morning I realised the front room which we used for additional space leaked water, all our belingings were damp! The roof and walls of the front section are all mesh so the condensation from the tent runs down and sits on the mesh roof of the front room then it all drips through.

This sadly rendered this whole room useless as couldn’t keep anything in there or it would get wet. For such an expensive tent I’m totally shocked that such a design flaw was overlooked. This issue wouldn’t happen in summer as condescending minimal but sadly makes the tent useless for us in cooler months.

Overall really disappointed. 😞.
