20 Best Carrier For Newborn (2022 Updated)

I have LOVED the Tula Explore! To be clear, I have dreamed of owning my own Tula carrier for approximately four years now. And let me tell you, it completely lived up to the hype, and was well worth the wait! The Tula is designed and made with care and attention to detail.

The shoulder straps are padded for the wearer’s comfort, but the leg holes are padded for baby’s comfort. The linen fabric is both gorgeous and soft. The the shoulder buckle is designed to move up and down the shoulder straps to adjust for front carry or back, but stay in place once position is determined.

I wear baby (7 months old) around the house when he’s fussy while attending to a variety of engagements from cleaning to care for my toddlers. I also wear baby (7 months old) out and about when the terrain isn’t stroller friendly or I’m grocery shopping with all three kids.

It almost never fails that baby falls fast asleep while being worn. Additionally, I love all of the tiny adjustments you can make to the carrier for obtain a better fit or different carrying position.

It’s just so incredibly well designed! And versatile. It says on the box you can up to a four-year-old in it, and what do you know? My four-year-old loves it! She’s attached at the hip these days, so a way to literally attache her and carry her around comes in quite handy.

And it’ll come as no surprise I’ve put my two-year-old in there too. He’s also a fan! I can’t believe I waited so long to get a Tula. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, my wait is over! I have so enjoyed testing the Tula!.

This carrier is perfect! It is functional and stylish which are perfect for toting around your baby. I am very focused on proper positioning to prevent hip dysplasia and other problems in my child which this carrier focuses on insuring does not happen.

It is super easy to adjust for proper fitting to both mom and baby. It is also easy to adjust for using in certain positions. The material is super soft for mom and baby making it easy to wear for longer times.

I used this carrier at home to get tasks done and out while running errands. I have two other younger children so I need my hands free as much as possible which this carrier allows me to do. My middle child still fits the weight requirements so I can even throw him on my back when it was more convenient to do so.

My favorite feature were the buttons for adjusting the size for the age of baby. It was so much easier compared to other carriers I have used before. Baby wearing is a necessity for me and I want something that is comfortable and easy to use.

The linen itself is beautiful, lightweight and very breathable. The carrier is something I saved up to buy and I do have some comments. One being that the color of the Mesa linen is not as shown. It’s a lot darker, and yes I read the description and contemplated on this color and the sand version.

The only reason I got this color instead was because the description stated brownish reddish hues blend. And compared to the photos of people sharing and those of the ones shared on the website this carrier did look like it was going to be a light brownish almost nude because I did take into consideration that profession lighting is used and that can make the color a bit lighter.

But compared to the color I received they are completely misleading. It looks like a beautiful light brownish/yellow which is why I wanted this color and instead I received a darker than Dijon mustard almost cardboard box color.

Another disappointment was its pocket I did as much research before coughing out so much money and one thing I did hear was that the pocket could only hold keys which is something I was okay with. But I was not expecting the pocket to be so flimsy to the point where it felt that if I opened the pocket and was not paying attention my keys could very easily just fall out on their own.

The hood doesn’t have a pocket I can fold into like ergo and is a bit hard to pull out if you decide to tuck it in on the inside. The straps do slide a little on me I’m not sure if it’s because I had to lower the strap that connects both should straps or if it’s because I might have them a bit loose to give my daughter some comfortability.

Besides all things mentioned the carrier is quite nice and if it were the color that was shown dim pretty sure I’d love this carrier even with its flaws. I know this review is so much longer than it needs to be but one thing I noticed when trying to figure out whether to buy a Tula or ergo is that I could find countless detailed in depth reviews for ergo and not the Tula.

I’m sure another mom who’s struggling financially and has to save every last dime like I did would appreciate it. Oh last bit. For moms who can barely afford to save up if you want to return or exchange you’d have to pay which I did read before purchasing and another reason why I hate that it’s not the color shown.

We tried to be minimalist in what we bought for our first baby, but this thankfully made the cut. From our and friends’ experience, newborn babies prefer sitting in one of these to any other option in their first months of life.

Obviously you can get other brands but this one is safe, easy to adjust, gender neutral for both parents, allows baby to be inward or outward facing, comes with a 2 year warranty and is structured yet soft enough for newborns.

Our baby had silent reflux and HATED lying on his back so we wore this for his naps, carrying him about, loading the dishwasher, to eat our meals, go to the toilet, etc! :-/ Given 40-60% of newborns have reflux we are not a unique case.

Our baby was sometimes OK lying on his back in the pram (not all are) so maybe rather wait with buying a lie flat bassinet for your pram as some friends wish they never bought it) but we would NEVER leave the house without this carrier.

When baby wakes up and realises he’s on his back, I need this to stop the screaming. Our baby is very big and almost 10kg after 5. 5 months but this remains the best money we spent for baby items. I can no longer wear him for hours at this weight but it is still helpful.

I also expect to use this on an upcoming flight as it’ll be good for naps while seated. A truly invaluable item! If I have one regret it is that we didn’t buy the mesh version as over summer the Jersey one was at times a bit hot for baby, so I should have thought about that he’ll be in it when it is warm.

You can always put on more clothes and then use the carrier if it’s cold. The Jersey one also bobbles so after 5 months’ wear I’ve needed to defuzz it a few times but functionality isn’t affected. Mesh would have been better.

Another item we found invaluable with a refluxy baby was a baby bjorn bouncer (it’s not THAT convenient making dinner or unloading the dishwasher while carrying baby)! I should be a brand ambassador!.

Added this to our registry after researching a lot of baby carriers. Decided on this one and received it as a gift. Very happy with the quality! It is so durable yet light weight. I love how easy it is to put on by myself which was super important to me when choosing a carrier.

Baby stays comfortable and loves being in it. Also, as a plus size mom, I was really happy with how this fit me! I was worried it would be too small but it is perfect! For reference, I am 225 pounds and 5’3.

I’ve been on an anxious hunt for items to ease my upcoming trip abroad with my one-year old. For context, he’s not walking yet, does not like staying in a stroller for long, and LOVES being carried/worn.

I have (had – more on this later) an ergobaby carrier which I never used because, simply put – I hated it. It was clunky, a hassle to put on, and my son just did not find it comfortable at all. Instead, we’ve used a stretchy wrap since he was born (with great success).

Alas, that’s no longer practical now that he’s older, heavier, and wrigglier. I stumbled across the MiaMily Instagram page and found the HIPSTER Plus; the design seemed GENIUS – carrying a 10kg clingy bundle of cuteness around was really starting to take a toll on my arms, and the prospect of having the detachable hip seat option without the hassle of buckling on a whole carrier was intriguing.

Add in the raving reviews, and I knew I had to try it for myself. And Oh. My. Goodness. Why did I not find it sooner!! Both the hip seat and carrier are very straightforward and easy to wear separately and together.

The wide velcro belt is an excellent, well-thought-out feature; it’s easily adjustable for different wearers, adds security, and provides adequate lower back support. The sturdy hip seat is MAGIC. I can tell that my son is very comfortable sitting on it because he remains in the carrier for ages without any fuss at all.

It’s finally easy for me to do housework because I can have him in the back-carry position and he is always so content! I’ve cooked and cleaned with him on my back, and his weight is well distributed so it just feels like I’m wearing a secure backpack and I don’t have to worry about him slipping off.

He loves it so much that his face lights up whenever I ask him if he wants “MiaMily”. It’s a wonderful solution for busy mummies with clingy babies. I have had my carrier about 3 years now and it is the best carrier I have ever used. I’ve used numerous others during my 12 years of nannying including wraps. This one I got when my middle child was two months old and it has been a life saver time and time again.

We use it mostly at home when the kids are fussy to help them be close to us but still let us get done what we need to. My toddler is autistic and this helps him get the comfort he’s needing when we are busy and he is feeling overwhelmed.

I also use this every shopping trip for either my toddler or my baby (whose 5 months now and we’ve been using since birth). My toddler loves it so much he says thank you every time he sees it because he loves to go in it.

Can be in a full on meltdown and see the carrier and instantly is happy and excited. He’s big for his age in 4T clothing and he fits super comfortably. My back never hurts when I’m wearing it and I’ve carried my toddler for a few hours in it.

We have all the accessories as well because they come in handy for us to use the carrier with either child and anytime of the year. Dad even loves wearing the kids in it. He is quick to grab it to hold one of them while doing chores around the house.

I used this when I was 7 months pregnant and it made holding my toddler a breeze. If you’re considering getting this carrier, go for it. You won’t regret it. It’s made so beautifully that it’ll last a long time through multiple kids and different weather/areas of travel.

I’ve been able to comfortable nurse both my younger kids in this carrier while they are strapped and having them lay across the seat so I can still use an arm and them be supported at the same time. I’ve attached photos of us using the carrier with our boys over the last 3 years.

This is the best carrier ever!!! This was the 6th carrier I have tried (Baby K’tan, Bjorn, Infantino,Moby & Ergo) and finally Miamily. It is seriously the best designed, most functional carrier I have used.

Trust me I was on the hunt for a comfortable and long term use carrier Here are my favorites parts about it. It has 6 different positions and is amazing from newborn to toddler. The Original Ergo doesn’t allow for forward facing and the moby is so annoying to basically wrap you and baby.

(also other carriers have horrible lumbar support) The Miamily is breathable and the option to make it more breathable with the front panel unzipped. This is not a sweat box like the many other carriers.

I would also love to boast about the Built in storage this carrier has. You can literally take all your important things with you in this carrier such as your diapers,keys your ID your credit card and obviously your phone.

This was the reason I bought it especially on I do want to also Express how much the miamily helped my back from a back injury I had (car accident). No other carriers that I tried helped the lumbar area from straining/pain.

It is truly comfortable to wear. The re-positional seat is great and easy to adjust for baby- no other carrier I had does this. It is incredibly easy to put on. In just a few clicks I can have baby in and ready to go.

This is lightweight, slim, compact, no-frills carrier. Easy to toss in a diaper bag for whenever you may need it. It’s easy to adjust on your own, too. The back support is adjustable depending on the size/age of the child.

I felt that my child was most supported in the highest back position setting, even though the was over 6 months and able to hold her head up on her own. I just felt that the shortened back support was too low on her.

Also, with this carrier, the child cannot face outward in front position. Once my baby turned around 7 months old, she no longer wanted to face me; she wanted to see the world. Because I’m usually alone when I use the carrier, wearing it on my back isn’t an option for me.

I’d recommend this carrier for someone on a tighter budget who is looking for a lightweight, no-frills carrier for a baby who is under 6 months or doesn’t mind facing inwards.

I just started using this baby carrier for my 18 month old. She weighs 22 pounds, but this carrier is very comfortable to wear and distributes the weight well so she doesn’t feel heavy at all. I have used it to carry her facing me in the front and as a backpack style.

It can also be used as a hip carrier, but I haven’t tried it that way yet. To use it facing you requires no assistance, as you just sit down and place your baby in the carrier, but you need a second person to use it as a backpack style.

It provides great support either way, and my baby loves being carried in it. It’s not restricting her arms at all, so she can hold a small toy if she wants, and the natural seat position holds her legs comfortably.

As a mother of two girls and a newborn. I must say I have quite a few baby carriers. This one is affordable and comparable to others (ie: baby bjorn, ergo baby,) and serves it purpose for less expensive than the other brands.

I am able to carry my friends 4 month old comfortably and we tried different variations Front facing, on the hip (which I enjoyed the most) and on the back which I found was difficult if I had to do it alone.

My newborn whom is 2 weeks and 8 pounds didn’t look too comfortable or stable and the weight is 7 pounds min. for this carrier. I would say this is perfect for an older newborn as funny as that sounds I mean a baby over a month old.

Lol. This come with easy to clean/wash and is very light weight. I am able to fold it up and store it in a gallon ziploc bag in my back pack.

My wife, daughter, and I love this carrier! We bought it when my daughter was 2 months old and our daughter loved it from day one. She was always perfectly comfortable,whether she was facing in or out, whether she was awake or asleep.

She never fussed while she was in the carrier, and she never had any issues getting in or out of it. Both my wife and I could wear her for extended periods with no discomfort, it’s super easy to get our daughter in and out, and we were especially happy with how secure she was in the carrier (locked and loaded, we used to say).

We did our research about carriers and we’ve heard some negativity in the baby wearing community about the Baby Bjorn, and, frankly, I don’t get it. The Miracle Carrier is fantastic, and we saw absolutely no issues with discomfort of any type for our daughter.

On the other hand, I see a lot of carriers (since I used a carrier, I now see them everywhere – like when you buy a car and start seeing it everywhere) and I’m frightened when I see the position of the baby’s head, neck, and back.

Not only does the baby look awkward and uncomfortable, but so do the parents. This was absolutely not the case with the Miracle carrier. I’ll never use any other brand of carrier, simply because our Baby Bjorn experience was so fantastic.

The mesh material is fantastic – we never had any issues with our daughter (or either one of us) getting too hot, and we absolutely loved the carrier cover when the weather got cold. It’s also very well made.

We didn’t buy a stroller until our daughter was too big for the Baby Bjorn, meaning we put it to heavy use for 15 months (our daughter reached the 26 lb weight limit at 18 months) and the thing is still like new – no broken buckles or frayed straps.

And, it’s easy to wash and maintain, and frequent washings didn’t affect the quality one bit – and it comes with a mesh bag for the washing machine, which was a great touch. We bought the Miracle back when it cost $170.

I see that it’s cheaper now, but I would buy one again in a heartbeat at the old price because it’s so fabulous. And in fact, we will be purchasing another one because we’re expecting twins this fall – woo hoo! I would recommend (and in fact, I already do) Baby Bjorn products to everyone! This is one of those rare products that is perfectly designed and constructed, a perfect intersection of form and function, and purchasing a Baby Bjorn is more than worth every penny you pay for it.

I have struggled to find a carrier or wrap that works for my baby for over 4 months. He didn’t like the wrap styles, such as the Ktan, because they were too tight and restrictive. I tried the Ergo carrier but he strongly disliked that as well and was always super uncomfortable.

I also was not happy with the fact that the Ergo was impossible to put on by myself. So I gave the BabyBJorn Miracle a try. I was instantly amazed at how user friendly it is. You don’t need a second set of hands, baby slides in effortlessly, it’s lightweight, and most importantly my baby loves it! He has never liked facing in toward me, so he faces outward and is able to look all around.

He was able to do this around 3. 5 months. Once you get the shoulder and back straps adjusted, it shouldn’t put any strain on those areas. This has been a lifesaver and I strongly recommend it to everyone, especially mamas with babies who haven’t liked any other wraps or carriers!.

After seeing lots of great reviews by mum’s on YouTube I had great expectations for this wrap and was excited to buy this after just having another baby. I didn’t use a carrier with my first two babies as I found them really uncomfortable.

Plus points of The ergobaby aura – fairly easy to put on after a few practice runs and it’s also light weight. The down sides in my opinion – The amount of excess wrap left hanging you have to tie up makes it rather uncomfortable round your hips, I also found it quite difficult putting my baby in it each time she got quite agitated with me trying to put her in it and I find for a newborn the head is not greatly supported.

I am wishing I never purchased this now as the £50 could have gone on something that’s not just left hanging in the hall. Hoping perhaps I may use it more when she’s is older but I have a feeling it may wind up on eBay.

I bought this to carry my grandson around and it has been fantastic, I have spine problems and trying to carry him with one hand was leaving me in agony at the end of the day with him so after a lot of research I decided to but this, not only does it help my back it’s also very comfortable and my grandson loves it, he either looks around at what’s going on or has a nap.

This is hands down the best baby accessory I have owned. It’s so comfortable and easy to put on and off. I tried other carriers like the high end Ergobaby Omni 360 and low end highly rated ones from Amazon.

I had to return the Ergobaby because it did not fit me properly and it was too cumbersome to put on and off. Using this after having used Ergobaby was like riding an automatic gear car after having driven a 1970s stick shift.

I really love the magnetic clips which just snaps each time without fail. Also the comfort is unmatched. I highly recommend this product. Also last but not the least, nini and Loli did a great job giving me a deep discount on Thanksgiving this year and shipping it on time! 5 stars clearly!.

i purchased my original Baby carrier back in 2015 which worked absolute wonders on my fussy baby. i wanted to upgrade for baby born in April. and i do not regret it one bit. i use it for washing dishes, cooking (safely of course), getting laundry done, going on walks, the grocery store, and breastfeeding.

this carrier is much easier to breastfeed than my original ergo but they equally get the job done. i love that i do not need the infant insert for this carrier and how breathable it is when i am walking/hiking.

if nothing works on my crying baby i can always count on my carrier to get him to sleep and feel close to mama. i do miss having the pocket with the zipper in the top center rather than under the carrier but they both work for me either way.

the ergo mesh is just so versatile. i am so grateful for my ergo and recommend this Baby carrier to all of my mommy friends and family. there is so much more to this carrier than i can type in words.

I bought this Baby carrier not long after it first came out. Baby is now 3 months old and I haven’t used it much on the town but I have worn it for a few hours while cleaning the house. My son loves to be held all of the time so this carrier is great for keeping my hands free! He loves it too as he is fast asleep within minutes of being in it.

This carrier is very comfortable and the colors are nice! My chunk weighs 17 pounds and the carrier offers great support for my shoulders and back! Now I see there’s an onyx black one in the 360 air mesh and I’m so jealous! I want the black one!!! : ( My baby tends to get hot easy, but the mesh was great and neither of us were hot with it! We’ve only tried the front carry position given his age so I can’t wait to try the other positions when he’s older!.

I love my baby carrier and using it for mostly at the grocery store since it gives me the ability to be hands free! It’s also great to get this because it’s super comfy! My only challenge is getting this on and off by myself can sometimes be a challenge although I’ve gotten the hang of it.

It took me a while to get it just right for me and my baby. Also keep in mind, as your child gets heavier and you recover post party’s you will likely need get to keep adjusting the straps to adjust which I typically need help doing.

I will say it’s super comfy! I wore a carrier from a family friend and I think you definitely get what you pay for because this one is super comfy in multiple positions. Also, it has a little pocket and now that its summer I get to use the hood to cover my baby’s head.
