20 Best Cast Iron Scrubber (2022 Updated)

Love everything. Best system for cleaning and maintaining cast iron ever. Just pulled out my 4 skillets and gave them all a once over. I can’t believe what came out of a couple of them. I thought the cast iron wax routine was a bit much, but it’s worth the time and effort every so often.

And the leather handle is a nice fit on all, and a huge improvement over a potholder! Thank you.

I bought this for myself a while ago and liked it so well that I purchased another for a friend. Cast iron can be a little difficult so clean off anything that sticks to it. I read about chain mail scrubbers that were suggested to clean cast iron.

I searched until I found yours and I have not been disappointed. Thanks!.

The chainmail scrubber is a little pricey but after having used it for a few months, it’s certainly proven worth the price! It easily removes baked & caked on food with minimal effort. I always had trouble cleaning my cast iron after searing meat but this works great to remove.

Would highly recommend!.

About 5 years ago I became a cast iron fan. I’ve been adding to my collection ever since. I had seen a demonstration on cleaning cast iron skillets with chainmail, but I could never find the chainmail for sale anywhere.

Recently I was browsing the cast iron section of Bed Bath & Beyond and to my surprise, I saw Lodge chainmail scrubbers with silicon inside for scrubbing skillets. I immediately ordered two. I’ve received them and I think I’m going to be very happy using them.

Since you may heat a skillet up before scrubbing it, the silicon in these keeps you fingers up and away from the heated skillet. That’s an added innovation.

I used to hesitate to use the cast iron skillet and cast iron grill pan, as I dreaded the clean up of meat protein & fat. I just used this to clean the skillet used for burgers last night. Some Kosher salt & the chain mail pad? Easy, peasy, as the saying goes!.

Strong and effective brush works perfectly well to clean Lodge’s high quality cast iron. Wooden handle is sturdy and easy to grip. Brushes are effective on iron to clean easily and thoroughly without affecting seasoning.

A nice addition to the Lodge family of products. This is a brush, not a scraper of hard-to-remove burned on food. If you scrape first, then brush, very little force is required, and you are less likely to break the brush.

Lodge does sell polycarbonate scrapers that are very good. Use the right tool for the job.

Scrub brush is great. Take your heated pan and hit it with hot water. Steam clean it while scrubing it. NO soap! Been using this procedure on my cast iron and carbon steel pan for months. No more non stick pans for me.

Final thought? Get it.

I had bought this originally, thinking I might use it on headstones for delicate work but way too soft and now using it to do dishes and it works great. Use it every day and quite satisfied. Glad I didn’t send it back.

We had one already. Got this one – impulse buy – but happy with it. Cleans cast iron griddles, skillets abs Dutch ovens.

This is the best purchase that I could have gotten for my cast iron pans. It makes cleaning so much easier, especially when I cook something sticky. I would rate this a 10/10 and gift it to anyone that has a cast iron.

Another great product from Camp Chef. Makes cleaning baked on food from cast iron easier. I saw another one online at a fraction of the price but when it comes to quality Camp Chef has been there for me.

That is an amazing product. I use it on more than cast iron. It gets down into cracks and crevices. It does a great job. Would recommend it to anyone.

The handle is made from hardwood. I think it may be oak or hickory. It seems to be attached securely to the brush head. The brush bristles are good for cleaning loose or semi-loose material from cookware.

This brush would not work too well on bake ware or cooking utensils where there is hard encrustation.

Good little scrubber for getting cast iron clean. The handle makes it easier to use.

I love this brush! It does a great job cleaning my cast iron pan. I wish I had bought it sooner. The bristles are much stronger and stiffer than your average dish brush, so they don’t collapse and get matted down from hard scrubbing.

I cook scrambled eggs in my pan most days. I let my pan soak for a few minutes with hot water in it and then easily scrub any food away with this brush. I rinse the bristles and let it dry. Never leave it sitting in water as that could cause the wood handle to swell and crack.

I imagine this brush will last a long time, but will definitely buy it again when the time comes.

Hello!! I am Atticus the dog and you are my new best friend and this is my favorite chew toy. It came in cardboard and after I barked at the delivery person to prevent him from invading my house (you’re welcome, humans) I chewed through the box to open it for the humans because they are not very good at that.

Fun fact: humans have terrible teeth so we dogs have to look out for them sometimes. At first I did not like the flavor of this toy and I forgot all about it. But after half a dog year I discovered it had developed a delicious bacon flavor, almost like the real thing except combined with the flavor of real wood.

A winning combination!!! Now it is my favorite toy. I now keep it in my secret hiding spot so my pet humans don’t accidentally step on it and injure their foot, like they do with all of my other toys.

It is important to look out for the safety of humans. I give it four paws up. Look, a squirrel!!.

Confession: Yes, I am an owner of the Stainless Steel Mesh Cast Iron Cleaner. Moreover, I’ve been a frequent user of the product with several of my cast iron skillets. I was looking for something that would take off the carbon build up on the outside and the side of the inside. My cast iron has a beautiful non-stick patina from all the years of use; but I’m looking to take off layers of build up that’s accumulated on the sides.

This didn’t touch it.

I have a few cast iron ware that was handed down by my grandmother, she had kept them in perfect condition until she had to put them in storage. They were in very sad shape when I received them. I didn’t have enough elbow grease to get them back in shape until I came across a tube of Camp Chef Cast Iron Cleaner.

It is so easy to use and the results are unbelievable. My daughter and I don’t use anything else to clean our cast iron ware. She refused to let anyone use them when we ran out of cleaner and we had a time finding it again.

This cast iron cleanser is amazing. I had never seen it before perusing Bed, Bath, & Beyond’s website. Cleaning my cast iron is always a challenge. Camp Chef Cast Iron Cleaner made the job so much easier and it gave me the reassurance that my pans were clean.

The all-natural oils in this product did have me second-guess cleanliness for a moment because the pans felt oily; however, after drying my cast iron with a kitchen towel and letting the pans rest on a towel, all was good.

My oven broke down over a month ago. By two weeks into cooking only on the stovetop, I finally bought that cast iron I’d been looking at (won’t name them, but that wasn’t Lehman”s – sorry!). But! But then I wanted to care for that cast iron so I knew just what I wanted: a chainmaiil scrubber, And where did I look for that? Lehman’s! It’s great quality, my pan is happy, and I’m happy.

Of course, I couldn’t just do the chainmail. At Lehman’s I also ordered other things I’d been needing like the drawer organizer so that my forks and spoons wouldn’t have to touch and those steak knives so I’d have something sharper for my friends and I to knife our steaks with.

Had heard about stainless steel chainmail for cleaning food particles off cast iron. There are chain mail “scrubbers” with silicon in between two halves so one can grab the scrubber and there are those that are simply chainmail- 1 layer thick.

I chose this 1 layer scrubber because it seemed it needed less care when getting rid of the food particles it scrubs off. I use it for all my cast iron ware and it works like a dream. You have to get used to it compressing in your hand but just clean with a flat hand on it with the hottest water you can stand – no soap.

The cast iron will appear oily but the food particles will be gone and the pan stays seasoned for the next use. NOTE: you MUST dry the pan after scrubbing! I just turn the stovetop burner on to dry out the water in/on the cast iron pan; otherwise, the pan will rust.

If you want to clean the chainmail, use dishsoap and place between your hands to wash as if you were washing your own hands.

Great tool for more than cleaning my cookware. I had to use it on my husband’s grill Labor Day. His idea of a Clean grill and mine are global Opposites! I tossed it in the dishwasher and it came out nice and clean and ready for the kitchen again!.

Despite its deceptive simplicity, this does a great job cleaning my cast iron. It takes off the food residue without harming the seasoned surface. The large links (bigger than the usual dish/pan scrubbers) mean that any bits of food it picks up rinse out easily.

Since it doesn’t rust, it should last indefinitely.

I actually thought that this would be heavier weight than it was. It was a gift for Christmas so I haven’t heard whether or not it will work for the recipient in the way I’d hoped. I have one that I use for scrubbing my cast iron pan.

I gave the one I bought to serve the same purpose. I guess I should have thought about the fact that there might be different thicknesses to the chain mail, but it didn’t. I thought it would be like the one I have.

One of my most favorite cut of meat is a 11/2 ? thick pork chop with the bone. Being house bound for the last year and a half I have not had a properly cooked chop in all that time. It seems that it’s impossible to do up a chop that size in a nonstick pan, believe me I tried and tried.

Well to shorten my tale, I married your pan with a perfect chop and a sure fire cooking method, half frying and half oven, I made the best chop I ever made. Since then my cast iron pan has become one of my prized possessions.

Growing up I remember seeing a well used iron pan in every kitchen, then came the none stick revolution and that up coming generation threw cast iron to the curb. I think being locked in this pass year we missed eating out and missed great steaks and chops.

I’m not one to leave reviews typically but I just have to with with purchase! I’ve been wanting to purchase a Cast Iron skillet for a while now but I was unsure what brand to get or if that even mattered.

I did my research on this Brand as well as some others that got pretty pricey! The price for the size of this pan was fantastic! I pulled the trigger and purchased it. It us pre-seasoned but I decided to follow the instructions for the oven seasoning method if the Lodge website and did 2 extra rounds of it.

Perfect! I have used it almost everyday since and NOTHING has stuck and it cooks beautifully! Don’t over pay! Lodge is the way to go for Cast Iron and I have no regrets!.

This is my first bakers skillet. Love it! Perfect for cornbread, pizzas, pies or cobblers. I like having the assist handles. I put 2 coats of seasoning on right after receiving it & before cooking, even though I didn’t really have to.

Lodge makes good cast iron cookware & I’m proud to add this piece to my growing collection of Lodge cast iron! I also must say, treat this baby right & it’ll stay in your family for generations. I have 4 Lodge skillets from my great grandmother.

I’m the 4th generation to cook in those pans & I’m sure I won’t be the last.

The scrapers and handles were fine. However, I will not be using the the stainless steel scrubber again. It made a mess of my frying pan. Better to use sea salt and rinse. I gave it two stars instead of one because of the plastic scrapers and handle.

Havnt used them yet but i will like them i am sure

This kit does just what it is supposed to do: make cleaning cast iron and stainless steel pans a snap.

All 4 objects are amazing and highly useful. The protective sleeve makes grabbing the pan much easier than a towel or an oven glove. The brush and the scraping plastic spatula highly useful to clean the pan without worrying for scratching it.

The less important is the oil sprayer as it is a bit tricky to use and often I ended up spraying the stove and not the pan, but is it much easier and faster than spreading oil with a paper or by rotating the pan.

Lodge Seasoning Spray is so good it should be sold as a stand-alone product in every supermarket. Who doesn’t have cast iron? It’s pure canola oil, so it’s perfect for cooking as well as seasoning cast iron; I absolutely use it for both.

There are no other ingredients or propellants, so it’s safe for your traditional nonstick pans. I do have the entire kit, which I recommend, but the spray should be available by itself for everyone. Note: Be aware it has a wide spray so aim with precision.

I am new to the world of cast iron skillets and did not know the proper way to clean and care for them. This product explains how to care and clean them properly to prevent rust from ruining my skillet.

It has everything I need in that one package to take care of my cookware and to keep it looking like new forever. So glad I purchased it.

hey Field Co: (Hi Stephen). i just ordered a couple ‘Field’ scrubbers for my sister and a client after i got and love one i got at a local cooking store. The good news is that they both enjoy them. i put a brass cup hook, bent open slightly, above the sink in my customer’s house, so the scrubber can be tossed and caught, instantly put away in a place it can harmlessly drip dry.

my sister wrote the scrubber is “magnificent! a real game changer. ” my two points of critique: First, the scrubber i bought in person was by the brand Knapp: it feels more robust/substantial (73 grams; i forgot how much the field scrubber weighs, but it is less).

this didn’t mar the opinion of the others, as no one will ever wear one of these out, but in comparison it felt lightweight. a second point is that the scrubbers come in an elegantly pure brown paper envelope, but it was shipped in a bubble mailer that allowed the paper to get crumpled.

this didn’t bother me or the users at all, but when i re-sent the scrubber to my sister, i did smooth out the paper and pack it in (old cereal box) paperboard to keep the paper wrapper looking crisp.

Absolutely love this product, and the best part is it’s made in the U. S. ! Easily removes debris from my cast iron and carbon steel pans with extremely minimal effort. I even find it is gentle enough for use on glassware.

I also like that the chainmail scrubber is more sustainable than typical kitchen sponges. Which means, less waste going into landfills and micro-plastics into our water. Cannot recommend this product enough.

Amazing piece of kit! The Field Chainmail Scrubbie is an excellent tool for our cast iron pan. It quickly and easily removes any stuck-on food bits, but leaves a coating of oil behind, as well as the ever darkening seasoning layer that’s so integral to that non-stick effect.

A quick drop of dish-soap once the pan is out of the way and the chainmail washes sparkly clean. Takes up no room at all, and the texture is lovely. I also weirdly enjoy the scouring sound it makes on the machined surface of our pan.

I almost want to buy a second one, but I feel like this one will probably last a decade. Highly recommend. The convenience (or rather, lack of elbow grease) is priceless.
