20 Best Cat Food Pouches (2022 Updated)

I have 5 kitties ranging in age from 2 to 10 years old. I was so excited when even my picky eater went after this, but I soon realized all of them loved the gravy but left the chunks intact and they dried out untouched.

I started smashing the pouches before opening them, and that was somewhat better, but still whatever didn’t get squashed was left behind. I’ve fed Natural Balance over the years, and it was a love affair in the beginning, but as time has elapsed, they’re less and less wild about the brand.

I have no idea why. I’m currently flailing about trying to find food I can get online that my sensitive cat can tolerate, but have yet to succeed. The best brand I’ve found (called “Stella and Chewy”) isn’t available on Chewy or anywhere else except in pet stores.

I’ll trek over today to pick some up, but would love feedback from anyone with a similar issue.

I have to buy very limited ingredient chicken meals for sensitive stomachs, and this food (so far) has been staying down. All 3 of our babies love this, but mommy and daddy do NOT like the pouches, hence the deduction in stars.

The food has what looks like quality ingredients. Like others, I mash it up a little bit before putting down. There is also less food per ounce compared to canned foods. I personally, would pay a pinch more if there was more food per container, and if it were sold in cans.

The plastic pouches store well, but it’s not easy to save some for later, because you can’t reseal. Overall, since the cats like it, I’ll buy again.

My cat was diagnosed with severe STOMATITIS AND FISSITIS. It’s when the cat has a autoimmune reaction to plaque on the teeth. THEY have to be removed. He has awful ulcers in his mouth, swelling in his throat.

Water, and antibiotics are like acid burning I assume. He flips out all over the room against the walls grunting. Went into hiding. He ate some food other day mushed up with water. I did research read grain free, soy free, chicken free best way to go.

THOSE THINGS ARE BIG INFLAMMATION TRIGGERS! I bought this amongst other cans. Tried this first. 3 days no food in so much pain. He gobbled every Lil piece of this. I added water, mushed it up. He came out purring! I’m just trying to see what will nourish him.

I was going to put him down because of this agony. It could be a life long issue even after teeth are out. I’m returning the rest. He going grain and soy free! I’m stocking up on turkey. This brand is awsome.

My kitty can be very finicky when it comes to her food but I can put a spoonful of this meat and gravy over almost any other food and she will eat it. When she was sick awhile back she almost stopped eating and drinking.

I was desperate to get at least liquids down her. I started giving her just the gravy with a little water added to it. She would drink it even though I couldn’t get her to drink even a sip of water. After several days I add a tiny bit of the meat mashed up in the gravy and she started lapping it up little by little.

She finally started to eat (and drink) more and more. Now, I feed her mostly the raw freeze dried foods (which she didn’t like before, with the Waruva gravy and meat watered down and poured over it. She loves it, eats every bite and has returned to good health.

Her fur, which was shedding profusely and dull has almost stopped shedding and is so soft. I would not recommend feeding your kitty the Waruva foods as their only diet but to intice them to eat the other, more healthy foods, like the freeze dried raw meats that are very healthy but not always very inticing to a finicky cat or when they are ill and not consuming enough liquids, this stuff is great.

Both my cats like this a lot. I appreciate the flavor & protein varieties, as I think it’s important to give my little furballs a lot of variety. Ingredients are healthy and don’t contain things I don’t want them to have.

Only problem is with some of the chicken-centric flavors, as the chicken shreds often end up uneaten after they’ve licked all the sauce off. But overall I’m happy with this variety pack. Sometimes I add several pellets of raw freeze dried food, which softens and crumbles a bit in the sauce, and I think adding that bulk helps the cats get to the chicken shreds better.

I am pretty cautious of what I get for our 3 yr old cat, using all grain-free dry and limited raw. I tried this as it fit my requirements and she is very grateful. So far, the pumpkin sauce with nice-sized shredded chicken is paw licking good.

She also liked the mackerel sauce also with chicken. She is petite and likes to nibble throughout the day, so I first just gave her a sample with the bowl licked clean. So, she now gets the whole pouch.

I look forward to trying the other variety of choices but I have a feeling she will enjoy them all. I plan on purchasing this again and using a pouch as a treat for the day.

After spending hundreds of dollars (at least!) on all sorts of high-end, low-end, vet-approved, friend-suggested, raw, cooked, you-name-it wet food that my fussy grand-high majesty turned up her nose in derision at, I’ve FINALLY found one that she loves! Previously, she would quietly await my offerings only to scoff and walk away.

Now, she actively paws at me and meows in the kitchen as I prepare her meal, and she happily cleans every drop out of her bowl. She’s half Maine Coon and therefore a lean 13lb so the cost adds up, but this cat’s fur feels like a gd mink coat and she loves it so who cares? ALSO! They are generous with their 85 grams.

I weigh her food (she has a tender tummy) and each pouch has +/-90g in it. Don’t tell them, they might stop. Conversely, her Parisian model of a sister, Ennui, would eat hot garbage if I gave it to her.

Cats, amirite?.

We all know that cats can be picky eaters once they figure out that there are yet more flavors you can provide. However, our current cat has been very happy – and very healthy – with a diet of day cat food supplemented with a packet of this BFF wet food every other day (1/2 morning and 1/2 at night).

On the other days we feed him the other BFF dinner which also has fish (he really likes fish). I think the proof is in the fact that by alternating these two fish-based wet foods, along with Purina Complete dry food, he maintains his weight, is always a good eater, and our vet says he is in excellent health.

My cats love this and have eaten it for years. It’s fish in a gravy sauce, in a packet, not a can. When the packet’s about empty, I add a little water and swish it to get all the gravy out and into the kitties’ dishes.

That way they also get some extra water intake, important for cats. They also occasionally like Fussie Cat fish in aspic (in a tin). Kriser’s is so easy to order from, very efficient and reliable, and a welcome and refreshing change from the usual behemoth online retailers.

Note that this is only 20 calories per pouch and is intended as a snack for cats. People complaining that it did not satisfy their cat, please look at the calories in each item you u tend to feed to get an idea of what portion of your cat’s food the item you are feeding will amount to.

Again, at 20 cal pet pouch, this is clearly a snack/treat. I’m not a vet so idk if the moisture content is the true hero here adding some moisture to your cat’s diet but I would think it does help. Ask your vet if that is your need.

As for us, I’m looking to add moisture to my 17 year old cat’s diet and I’ll try it because it hits other requirements my cat has right now and consult with my vet about how much moisture we think this adds to her diet.

My cat is recovering from a health incident and a whole pouch to eat for 20 cal may be exerting too much energy for her when our primary focus is that she eat enough which she is doing. But we’ll try it and see.

Wish us luck. 4 stars only because we aren’t sure about the moisture benefit quite yet.

I have 2 cats who are finicky eaters. One is a 3 month-old and the other is a 15 year-old. My old man was starting to lose some weight and lose interest in his food. Vet recommended adding chicken broth or baby food mixed in with his wet food.

He liked that for a day but then it seemed to fade…Then I found Fancy Feast Broths!! I dump the Broths into his prescription diet wet food and he goes insane. He scarfs it up so fast, and in 15 years I’ve never seen him like any food or treat more.

I’ve been giving him 1 pouch a day and he has put on weight so fast. I went from trying anything I could think of to get him to eat and giving him the high-calorie gel supplement for elderly cats to now having to worry if he’s eating too much!! I’d much rather have this problem than having him get really skinny from old age.

My new finicky kitten also love the Broths. He barely ate any of his wet food before I started giving Broths mixed in, and now he scarfs it up. I’m so happy to see them both eating consistently again! This is a great product and I just wish I had found it sooner.

One of my four cats found the fancy feast broth enjoyable. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough to try for the others. I had to go out and buy some more wet food complement with salmon and vegetables in a decadent silky broth.

All my cats seemed to enjoy it. None got sick which they sometimes tend to do when eating moist foods. Good product. Looks good enough for a soup for human consumption lol. Would recommend for others considering a purchase.

My elderly cat would have died had I not found this food. She is quite possibly the pickiest eater in the history of cats. She will only eat dry food and only one specific kind. For 15 years this was never a problem until she was diagnosed with thyroid disease.

I know what you’re thinking; thyroid disease no big deal, they’ve got pills and medicine you can put on their ears. Not my cat. Threw up the pills and was not having any part of the transdermal ear meds.

She’d let me apply it like 3 times, then spent the next 2 weeks hiding under my bed, only to come out once I went to bed. Because she will only eat dry food, adding her thyroid meds to it was not an option.

I just had to stop giving it to her and for about a year that was okay. However she she turned into the incredibly hyper, and disturbingly thin animal that would just eat nonstop. In an attempt to add more calories to her dry food, I thought perhaps soaking her food in gravy would help.

So I tried it. I bought this Tiki chicken in broth, strained the gravy/broth onto a handful of her food, let it soak for a little bit then gave it to her. She ate it right up! I couldn’t believe it! I had given her every kind of cat food on the market and she rather starve than eat it.

But she loved it! Eventually I began removing less of her dry food until she was strictly on the gravy/broth. I tried to get her to eat the chicken that comes with it, but she wouldn’t eat it so to keep the chicken out, I strain the broth into a small loose tea strainer.

I gave her the just the broth 4-5X a day as an extra calorie supplement and she ate her dry whenever she wanted. But she was still losing weight. She was literally fur and bones. I took her to the vet and was told the she was in a serious health crisis.

Her blood pressure was through the roof. She had a serious heart murmur and had lost 3. 5 of her normal 7lb weight. I thought for sure the vet was going to euthanize her right then. The vet suggested running labs on her kidney and liver function and in a couple days we’d know what would be best for her.

Two days later her kidney and liver labs came back shockingly relatively okay and could be treated! And now that she was eating this broth we could add a liquid compound chicken flavored thyroid medicine to it and see how she responds.

Bring her back in a month for a revaluation. Month later, gained a full pound, heart murmur gone, blood pressure normal, and liver/kidney labs were improving. Each month she improved. Flash forward to 4 months; she’s gained all her weight back, liver function is perfect, kidney improved but the numbers are what they’d expect from an almost 17yr old cat.

Had I not found the Tiki chicken in broth she surely would have died within a week or so. So if you have a cat who is strictly a dry food only eater but has medical issues which requires a wet food diet, try this! My cat now harasses me for the broth even though her dry food is always available for her whenever she wants it.

If my cat will eat it, I feel confident yours will too. Even if it’s just the broth. At least you’ll have a way to add medicine to your cats food. Tiki broths literally saved my cats life.

This is not a meal and shouldnt be used as meals but a topper or like a appetizer. Kitties love it! Great way to get moisture into kitties because they lap it up. Looks like good quality. For their birthdays they get this as appetizer main course then dessert.

Party hats and sardine on top! Id say this is a good way to have as a topper or mix in for finicky kitties or kitties that need extra calories. Or a surprise treat! And we all love pleasant surprises dont we! Id love for someone to surprise me with a salmon dinner HAHAH.

I have one cat who only will lick the gravy from wet food so I thought I’d get some extra gravy. Gotta keep the kitties happy, right? At first the kitties weren’t sure about this but after the gravy had been cleaned from the chunks I mixed it in.

That seemed to give it enough of a similarity to the food they were used to that they’d give it a try. Now they are familiar with it so will dive right in. This is more of a broth with small particles of cooked salmon than a gravy.

It suits my, and my kitties needs. It gives them the liquid they need in their diet and encourages them to eat up the rest of the can.

I ordered this because it was on the list of non-prescription foods for cats with CKD. We just got a diagnosis for two of our boys, so we are in the process of transitioning their diet. They hated the first Rx food the vet gave us, so I started shopping based on a list of foods with the right nutrition and potassium content.

This food is VERY soupy. One cat ate it the first time, but then decided he didn’t like it. The 2nd cat wouldn’t even try it. We ended up ordering the Rx food from Chewy, which is way more expensive, but at least they will eat it.

I was really hopeful that this food could be part of their diet along with the Rx food in order to help with cost. Oh, well. I knew it was a long shot with our picky eaters. We dropped it off at the SPCA today.

This has all great ingredients for my best friend. My car absolutely loves these. She looks forward to eating this every morning. This is perfect for mornings I give her half the package and then save the other half in the fridge for the next morning.

She loves it topped on her food. Absolutely great wet food for my cat! Defiantly recommended.

This product was gifted by Weruva in return for an honest review. These pouches have a lot of gravy in them, which I love because a lot of cat food that say they have gravy usually only put in very little.

Unfortunately only one out of my three cats truly loved this food. The other two ate some of it, but only one of them really licked the bowl clean. I suppose with cats you can never tell what they will or won’t like.

I am really impressed with this Simmer Down Stew from Weruva! Our cats love food with gravy! In fact they would probably be happy to have just gravy and no chunks of meat at all which honestly wouldn’t bother me as they eat dry food all day long anyway.

I only split a bag or can between the two of them. They both drink a lot of water but if your cat needs a little more in their diet these are perfect. They practically inhaled it! They love Weruva cat food of any kind so I’m not surprised.

I’m looking at the stew as a bit more of a breakfast treat since it’s being split in two and there is a bit of gravy. For one cat that also eats dry it would be sufficient. I was gifted by Weruva.

Good for CH and urinary tract problem cats. This food IS super liquid. But if your cat has urinary problem like ours do, then it might be helpful. He likes it, so it provides him with more water intake.

Add to this urinary health dry food and water fountain and he’s been doing fine for 3 months now. Fingers crossed it’ll last. Also, our cat has mild CH so it’s easier for him to lick this than try to catch food bits.

My 21 year old tabby is in stage 3 kidney failure and wont eat renal prescription food, or most other foods anymore but I found these and she loves them. They are the perfect lappable texture, the meatbits are small enough that she cant just lick the gravy up and leave the chunks behind.

Thankful for this flavor as she loves salmon but detests tuna and its really hard to find salmon cat food that doesnt also have tuna in it. One month in and she is putting weight back on, and isnt constipated anymore.

I decided to trust the reviewers, 89% of the folks recommended this and a large percentage of them stated they’d had at least one finicky eater. It was a good decision. My 5 year old female cat is the finicky eater that won’t touch anything beef and turns her nose up to most “gravy” claims.

Not the case with this gravy. This is thicker than usual gravy, consistent throughout in both coloring and texture. Dare I say it; I’m impressed with this cat food gravy. It’s not just clear, flavored gravy.

It’s better! Though the price is higher than I’d normally pay for wet canned food, it’s been a good investment as evidenced by the kitties’ approval. FYI, I find it easiest to just snip the top of the pouches, all the way across, with scissors to open them.

Even though there’s a small perforation for tearing, it doesn’t completely tear off for ease of pouring 100% of the contents out.

I purchased a box of 24 pouches for $15. 00/approx $0. 63 per pouch. What made me want to try this for my cats the first time was the photo of what appears to be a white meat shredded chicken in sauce and the price was a real value.

Excited to give this chicken to my cats but sadly, the product doesn’t look anything like the packaging. The meat is a saucy mixture of dark meat squares with one little chunk of white meat chicken in the pouch.

My cats sniffed it…. walked by it and haven’t returned. They are always hungry in the mornings for their wet food but they instead went to their dry food. I’ll keep trying as I have 20 more pouches to go 😬 I gave 3 stars for a product discrepancy (as far as the taste.

5 cats, 5 happy cats. I have one very finicky furbaby who turns her nose up at everything, and I mean everything, except Whiskas Chicken. I used to buy the chicken pack from Walmart, with the 4 different flavors mixed with the pure chicken.

The others would eat the beef and duck reluctantly, but not Punkin. If it wasn’t the chicken in her bowl, she’d refuse to eat. I found this deal with Only Chicken, and ordered 2 boxes the first time.

Before the next order, I changed it to 3 boxes. And now before the next order ships, I’m changing it to 4. They all love this stuff. And there is no waste anymore, they suck it down. I have seen some people say they have a hard time getting it out of the pack and it stinks in the trash.

We “flick” the pack to get the product down from the top, so it doesn’t squirt juice everywhere. I use a spoon to divide 2 packs between all 5, they also have dry food down. Then I rinse the packs out before throwing them in the trash.

Eliminates the stink, except for what’s in the bowls, then I wash the bowls when they are done.

My baby loves this so much he won’t eat anything else! And that should say it all. he is very picky eater. So yummy and it actually smells good. I’d rather give him this instead of dry kibble ❤️Thank you for making such a great product for the fur baby I like everything about it healthy and delicious and makes him happy and more playful.

My breeder recommended this for my 2 Burmillas, and suggested occasionally adding finely chopped lean red meat to it as a supplement (which one likes, the other hates). Burmillas are fussy little things – but they’ve consistently eaten Royal Canin Instinctive in Jelly everyday of their lives (one is 7, the other 6) and mostly clean their bowls (as clean as they get with these two anyway).

They’re on a 50/50 wet food/dry food diet (dry food also Royal Canin) & it helps their skin, coat & health tremendously. Both have had most of their teeth removed age 3 & 4 (breed issue) & some airborne allergies (skin, asthma) and I feel a Royal Canin diet (plus low chemical use, air purifier, HEPA vacuum – they’re indoor cats) has helped stabilise their conditions & keep them off medications.

I do mix up their wet food a bit; but it is 80% Royal Canin – worth the extra $$$ in my opinion.

So sorry we did not know 11 years ago that our VERY fussy 11 year old calico would gobble this food up! It has been such a wasteful experience finding food she would eat. Just tried Royal Canin and she loves it! She also will eat a few nibbles at a time of the dry food even though she has never wanted dry food before.

She licks the wet food platter clean! Very impressed and will keep buying. The online ordering and swift delivery is absolutely fantastic from Pet Circle as well. Considering we usually waste half of the grocery store brands, Royal Canin is very economical as she will actually eat it!.

Many years ago I had a big fluffy fellow. I found him motionless under a bush one hot afternoon; he seemed almost comatose. He ended up in an emergency vet clinic on intravenous fluids. They kept him for 48 hours.

The vet advised me to give him ‘wet food’ at least once a day. I had been feeding him dry cat food exclusively. Ever since that time I have made sure that I have pouches of wet food handy, especially during the summer months.

I was happy to see these in stock after being unavailable for over a year. However I was a little disappointed after I used them. They don’t seem to have as much gravy as they did in the past, and the meaty bits seemed a bit rubbery.

My kitty didn’t seem to mind too much, she still enjoys them. But I thought it was worth mentioning that the cans of this variety have a lot more gravy than these packets. I’m of the opinion that the canned variety of these packets are overall better quality and more cost effective.

I got this for my Shiba Inu. We were using the safari slicker brush, but she hated it so we thought we’d try something that didn’t look like it would scratch her. It’s practically useless on a Shiba.

It doesn’t get any undercoat, in fact, aside from providing my dog with an unwanted ‘massage’ this brush really doesn’t do anything. I’m sure it’s a perfectly serviceable brush, but it’s not good for Shiba type coats.

We will be donating this one to a shelter.

As should be obvious, this product does not use top quality or even pretty good ingredients — it’s basically the bare minimum nutritionally with lots of grain and shady meat byproduct. But the draw is the price! And lots of cats love friskies for whatever reason — something about the flavoring appeals to them.

But unfortunately my cats won’t touch this (though my dog will). The packets are hard to get all the food out of so some ends up going to waste unless I am very diligent with a spoon. Giving this four stars because I know how picky cats can be and don’t want others to assume their cats also won’t like it just because mine don’t.

This is my first time ordering food in a pouch and it will probably be my last. The pouch does say it is recyclable but it would be pretty hard to get all the residue out of it prior to binning it. As is typical with high end foods, our cat scarfed all of this food down immediately upon her first exposure to it but only half of it the second time we served it, and less each time.

It seems as though there is no one flavor that she will eat eagerly time and again so I often rotate through 3 different flavors or brands at a time to tempt her. It is difficult to detect a beef scent upon opening the pouch, but the color is dark brown and I am grateful for this reason that my cat didn’t vomit afterwards.

(She usually tolerates all types of wet foods except the brand F. –F. — in the little can). I did notice a fresh tuna smell. This food is pretty runny in consistency, like a stew and not a pate. Great quality brand and reasonably priced for a high end wet cat food.

Our cat AGGRESSIVELY loves this food. We’re a bit terrified of running out. If anything happens to us, question the cat first! In all seriousness though, we’re so happy to find this food. Our vet recommended this as a low-potassium option for our aging kitty’s early-stage kidney issues.

She gets a pouch of this in the evening (gets a another type of canned food in the am) and she goes absolutely bonkers for this. Maybe it’s correlation and not causation, but our kitty who is normally aloof has never been this playful.

I have to believe it’s at least partially a matter of getting her on a diet that better fits her needs but it’s so heartwarming to see our old girly playing like a kitten again.

My cats have been loving the Patè Partay flavors! I love how convenient these pouches are, I just squeeze into their bowls and that’s it! No messy cans or utensils. The packaging is super cute fun and I like that they box contains a variety of flavors.

These feature quality ingredients— real wild caught tuna, broth meat as the first ingredients— not a bunch of fillers. Would definitely purchase again!.

I received this product free from Influenster and Purina in exchange for my honest review: At first glance of the packaging, I thought it was absolutely stunning. And the ingredients were easy to read.

All natural, no preservatives with real accents of lobster. That is why I fed it to Milo. Milo (the cat) is a very picky eater with a bad digestive system. Certain things he eats makes him very sick.

He throws up a lot of different foods. So I was a little concerned about him eating this. But I read the package and saw it was basically all natural. At first, I thought he was only going to eat the broth because he lapped up the broth and left the pieces.

But he did eat the pieces after he lapped the broth up. I didn’t have but one packet of Purina Seafood Bisque with accents of real Lobster so I really can’t say he had any more energy than usual or shiny fur.

What I can say is that he kept down the food and he actually enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this to other pet owners who have a pet with a finicky digestive system like Milo has. He enjoyed it and kept it down.

I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

With reviews I focus less on what Sir. Socks and more on the product itself. Mainly just because kitty doesn’t like it, doesn’t mean it is a bad product. What works for one kitty may not work for another.

On to the review: my baby boy since I had gotten him has not really been a picky eater. He will scarf food down like he has never seen it in his life. But, looking at the product it’s self, it is useful in helping cats get additional moisture.

You can see a many of the ingredients when looking at the broth and they don’t smell horrible. I guess my main problem is more ethical as Fancy Feast is owned by nestle, and quite recently I learned all of the unfortunate things Nestle is connected with.

While overall I think this is good product. It may even help picky eaters. My stance unfortunately affects my rating. tldr : If you have a picky eater, this may help and they may think it is tasty. My cat is a living vacuum so he is not the best representation of picky cats.

First of all my cat is probably the most fussy cat you have ever seen in your life. From day 1 he didn’t like most cat foods, even soft cat foods which I thought all cats enjoyed very much. He has never liked human food, meat or fish or anything.

He is a bit of a strange cat. I have bought him different things over the years and he will smell it and turn his nose up and walk away flicking his tail as to say, “you want me to eat that, I think not.

” So I basically gave up trying different things with him as I pretty much ran out of things for him to try. From the pet stores to department stores I spent so much on this kitty for him to just turn his nose up (my dogs definitely were not complaining because they sure loved all the different new to them treats.

I did see this product in the stores and just walked by it because I figured it would be just like all the previous items I have already purchased and he wouldn’t touch it and the dogs would again get a new to them treat.

When I opened the pouch I put it by his sleeping head in hopes that he would catch a wiff and want to eat it. He did as I thought he would at first and just repositioned himself to not be near it. Not even 1 minute later he was super interested in it.

I let him have a little taste and he shot right up and was trying to take it from my hands. I let him have some them I started to take it away from him and he swatted my hand as to say this is mine women.

It was so cute. It was definitely a reaction I was hoping for. I thought it was a fluke and it would just be a one time thing and he wouldn’t be interested in it again. But I decided to say why not. I purchased another one just to see what he would do.

Long and behold he did the same thing again. He enjoys something I would have never thought he would and all because I had a sample. If not for thus sample my fur baby would not have had a chance to enjoy this product.

My once fussy cat, the little guy who doesn’t like human food and most cat foods in general actually liked this and will now have a new treat to him that he gets to enjoy too. I will be buying this again in the future for my fur baby.

Also will be recommending this to all my friends that have fur babies. If you haven’t tried this yet, run to your stores and buy it. Your kitty friends will love you for it. My little guy now looks for it when I open the food cupboard to feed him.

He just loves it and is so happy once he gets to eat it up. I now have a new treat for him to enjoy.

Both cats like this food, they lap up the broth almost immediately. I hadn’t thought of cutting up the chicken shreds, which are a bit long. I usually mix in a few pieces of freeze dried chicken breast and the cats really enjoy the food.

Suggestion to David Forman owner of Weruva: How about substituting the tapioca starch for additional fat? My only issue with this food (Weruva generally) is that it is so low fat / low calorie, I have to feed more of it for the cats to feel sated.

Given that the fat percentage is already low, substituting the starchy, tapioca for additional fat would be an advantage – protein and fat are what are obligate carnivores need, not sugary, carby tapioca.

We love Weruva because their foods are low in phosphorus (especially nice for kidney compromised cats) and the majority of their foods are pea and carrot free, however, I’d like to see a bit more fat in the recipes and less tapioca please, thank you.

I‘ve discovered that Tater doesn’t like white food. No chicken, no light flaky fish. He likes things dark and soupy. I opened this pouch and he jumped up on the counter and started eating out of the bowl before I even finished emptying the pouch.

He never does that. He begs and meows but this was a first. I’m going to add this into the rotation. The only negative is that it doesn’t seem like a lot of food. It’s a lot of liquid. It’s ok for me because I also give him freeze dried Stella Chewy nuggets as treats for the extra food.

My cat is a horribly picky eater. Pretty much only consumes chicken or beef tenderloin half the time. But he always seemed to love WERUVA products, especially the basic canned chicken with gravy, so I thought he’d be into this.

While he DID eventually eat it, my cat avoided his food bowl for most of the day whenever I served this pouch. He didn’t seem to like this particular flavor combo. I did notice there was a weird consistency with the gravy (like thick, darker bits that floated around; these weren’t chicken.

maybe the pumpkin?) but I have no idea if this is what put him off or if he just doesn’t like pumpkin in general. Who knows. The ways of cats are mysterious to us humans. This might not be a good fit for kitties who aren’t adventurous with their food.

Weruva Love Me Tender gravy packet is the only food that my rather picky cat will consistently eat. Unfortunately the last two times I ordered, I received the new formula that has been talked about in previous reviews.

My cat ate it, which I was at first relieved about, but then he immediately threw up all the food he had just eaten. I switched his food to another brand for for a day and when I went back to try the Weruva Love Me Tender again the next day, he threw up immediately again.

Since I stopped giving him the Weruva food, he’s stopped throwing up. The only thing that I can conclude is that the new formula doesn’t agree with my little kitty’s stomach and I will be changing his food to something else immediately.

My senior kitty with constipation issues loves this brand of cat food. We have tried several different varieties and they are equally liked and well-digested – particularly the ones with pumpkin! Also helpful for weight control while still maintaining enough moisture content, since the pouches are relatively low in calories.

As a plus, the chicken ones actually smell pretty appetizing! Can’t speak for the seafood varieties since my kitty is a poultry girl. Have repurchased several times already!.

We have tried other brands and finicky Lilly (aka every cat out there) doesn’t like them. Maybe one day of a new can of food is acceptable but after that, nope! Our local pet store stopped carrying the Cats in the Kitchen line.

So, I gave other brands a shot. Not happening. So I bought Love Me Tender, Pumpkin Jack Splash and Pumpkin Lickin’ Chicken pouches and rotate them each night. She never tires of them. The bowl is licked clean.

I do have to cut up some of the pieces to her bite sized acceptance (what a priss!). Yes, Lilly has a staff – my husband and I!.

I order the pouches for my daughter’s cat so this recommendation is based on her feedback to me. Her cat will only really finish off a bowl of food if it has Whiskas in jelly in it. I’m also told the jelly pouches are a lot less messy than the gravy ones.

There isn’t a Whiskas flavour in jelly her cat won’t eat so it must be tasty.

I purchased this for Penny, my very very picky and tiny 8 year old cat. Penny is partly so small (only 6 lbs!) because she’s the only cat I know who’s isn’t interested in food. However, she LOVES this food! Ive tried all kinds of food for her in the past, and she’s usually just “meh” with her reaction but this stuff she’s happy for! I’ve been feeding her the salmon and pea dry food from this same company for years, so I’m happy that they have another product that she likes.

The reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because I’m not convinced that pumpkin in this is actually helping Penny’s digestive system. She still seems to puke her food once or twice a week just like she did before, so I’m a little bummed because I thought this was supposed to help.

But nevertheless, she likes the food so I’m sure I’ll keep buying it.

I use Chewy for autoship and have overall been very happy. However they like everyone else, has been experiencing shortages. My cats usually eat Wellness Chicken and chicken liver in the pouch but they were out so I tried the Natural Balance.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to like it. This supply shortage seems to have effected cat food much more so than dog food or any other products and I can’t really understand why that is. I’m frustrated as are so many at this time.

This stuff is really expensive and is supposed to be really nutritious. But if they won’t do anything but smell it and walk away, it is just plain wasteful. I tried every different flavor, thinking they would find one of these nutrient dense and organic, grain free meals acceptable.

NO! Once in a while one or two of the cats would lick up and swallow the liquid that settled out of the extremely smooth pate in the package. I felt it didn’t have much smell and cats rely on smell to trip their appetite.

A cat with a URI won’t eat because they can’t smell the food, vets will tell you. If they don’t eat anything at all, they can get fatty liver disease, causing the liver to stop working and they die very quickly.

Now the indoor guys weren’t going to get fatty livers because they were still eating dry food until we switched them back to Friskies canned. FRUSTRATING!!! Luckily, the majority of the 8 TNR ferals eventually would eat the food before the raccoons and opossums got to it.

So, no, I can’t recommend others buy this food.

I work in a pet store and usually do my shopping after my shifts. I have two cats with different preferences and eating styles, but they both seem to like pouches more than cans. I tried a few other brands and kept striking out.

We finally had a merchandising reset and the Tiny Tasters were on an end cap display. Single servings, no leftovers caught my eye so I bought a few. My girls LOVE it! The pate comes out of the pouch without breaking up and leaving pieces behind to fish out.

The pouch actually rips open in one piece, so I don’t need to keep scissors with the cat food. And the portion is actually perfect! 65-70 calories and enough food for them to eat over 30-45 mins since they like to take a break.

I have 2 cats; one that eats anything in front of her and then, there’s the picky senior. Picky senior has decided that she’d rather have this food over the food she had been eating. Miss I’ll Eat Anything loves this food too.

One packet will feed Picky Senior and have a little left over for Miss I’ll Eat Anything. Since I only feed Picky Senior wet food, I can go through 3 or 4 packets a day and there’s only 10 in a box. It gets expensive feeding only this food so, I also use the other (another “ultra Supreme”) one.

Sometimes Picky Senior will eat the other but, now that I’ve introduced this one, she definitely prefers this one. Five stars from Picky Senior!.

The 11+ is the best of the Whiskas range because of the finely-chopped pieces. I feed it to my younger adult cats too. They prefer it to the adult pouches, even if I’ve mushed that up with a fork. The only reason I’ve deducted a star is because chicken/poultry pre-dominates in most of the range & with stockists, even if other meats are available.

I would like more availability of 11+ beef & lamb, & not just in gravy, but jelly too. My cats also like the 11+ fish, but that is not stocked in my local ASDA. Economical 40+ boxes would be welcome too but, on balance, Whiskas is still a popular quality cat food at a cheaper price than other market leaders.

It also has a different texture, adding to cats’ dietary interest.

I have already told you about the wonderful effect that 11+ pouches have had on our 20yr old cat. He is now acting like a kitten. His fur is better. He seeks my company more than he used to & loves a game with his toys.

After we had to put his sister to sleep a few months ago who went blind & deaf, he became stressed & started pulling his fur out & not cleaning himself very well. Now, his fur is in lovely condition & there is no excess fur all over the house.

We’re amazed at the change. FR.

I have to rely on my cats to judge the quality, they have food fads. They are going through a Whiskas phase at present, both cats are Seniors now and this preparation is designed for their nutritional needs and is apparently easier for older to cat to digest.

Whiskas has a pleasant odour, cats seem to find that more appealing than appearance when it comes to their food. The box arrived intact without extra packaging and in good time. This is a well known and popular brand.

I prefer to get age relevant preparations for the cats if I can.

Cat is on antibiotics for mouth infection and he can only have ‘soft’ food. The new SHEBA CRAFT is just purrfect for him as the small meaty chunks in pellet size are easy to eat. Other cat food have big chunks of meat which are quite tough to cut, even with a knife! The new Sheba Craft succulent pieces are really tender with delicious gravy, great for an older cat! Poor boy (cat) was starving as he could not eat before.

Thank you Sheba, he gobbled up a whole packet in minutes!.

I fail to understand what is special about this stuff and why it is so ridiculously expensive. I bought on offer, 2 packs as part of a promotion. I tried them on one of every flavour. All 4 looked at me as if I was nuts and sat waiting for proper food, I obviously obliged and gave the remainder to the space in the hope that at least one of the cats there may like it.

Will stick with the fine flakes, as these are about as exciting as the overpriced ‘soul’s Sheba do.

Mog likes and will eat Sheba Fresh Choice (and not much else!), so when I saw the description on this box as ‘fine flakes’ thought he would love it! (I was wrong!). Wouldn’t describe contents as ‘fine flakes’ personally, more like small chunks.

Product looks okay and is cheaper per kg than buying Fresh Choice – but obviously a waste of money if cat will not eat!.
